Alastor’s Possible Backstory, Emotional, And Mental State.

Okay, so, I find Alastor from Hazbin Hotel one of the few characters that interest me due to his sheer mysterious aura. He has a lot of secrets and I’d like to dissect this man down to his mannerisms, his beliefs, his (low-key/high-key?) pessimistic view of life, and his use of voodoo. I personally am not a fan of the said show since it’s pretty vulgar and hasn’t caught my attention due to the possible problems I see in the show (Why the heck did the God in this universe allow a hierarchy to take place AND give people superpowers by turning them into magical animals and such? Why did he even make a Hell?) 

But anyway, I’m not here to discuss my likes and dislikes about the show, I'm here to discuss the Radio Demon and what could have possibly happened in his life as a child to start this craziness and explain his complex personality, mental state, and emotional state. Alrighty with that being said, LET’S DISSECT!

ＭＥＮＴＡ L~𝓔𝓜𝓞𝓣𝓘𝓞𝓝𝓐𝓛 ~BEGINNING

Dude’s got a mental problem fam, and I'm not saying this just cause this man’s teeth are as yellow as Bill Cipher’s entire existence. No, no, no this man is crazy for not just his unhinged need to see other’s fail and to have utter and complete control(Will tackle later) he’s crazy for his huge narcissistic behavior. Dude, Honestly thinks he’s better than everyone and ONLY allows those he thinks are worthy into his “friend” circle. I quote friend because I’m not too sure how exactly and deeply he feels about Rosie aside from their relationship being like Jack and Mary from Mary Poppins Returns, as stated by Vivzie on twitter. He finds those who don’t always smile as people who are WEAK and LAUGHABLE and regardless of how they are, he still finds them to be weak, which BY GOD is such a flawed way of thinking GEEZ. Now after reading about Alastor and becoming more intrigued, I decided to do research on his behavior and when and how it starts. 

𝐍𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐬𝐦 has 9 defining traits. I’ll go over a few that I’ve noticed.

1. He really thinks he’s more important than anyone else and has shown this through his mannerisms, the way he speaks, his vibe and just his general character scream “I’m better than you!”

2. HE LOVES SHOWING OFF! Dude can’t seem to get enough of the spotlight, thus why he LOVES to broadcast his carnage on the radio! Why else would he do so!? He finds constant admiration and respect when he does his “little” display of power!

3. Now, we ALL know he has done some pretty...gruesome things to claim strength and be seen as the strongest, even when there are others who are stronger he displays himself as if he is more dominating and wouldn’t waste his time with, how you say, vermin. This is evident by his response to Vox

In case it is too hard to read due to the bad quality, Alastor is saying “Show off all that and no cattle.” which is pretty much  “all hat, no cattle” (or, alternately, “big hat, no cattle”) which refers to someone who is all talk with no action, power, or substance behind his/her words. I’d applaud this power move, and still kinda do, if it weren’t for this dudes BIG HEAD lol.

BUT, you get the point, the dude is an egomaniac! “We already knew this, I mean DUH!” you say to me pinching the bridge of your nose. “Why do you point out the obvious?!”

Well, notice how severe and prevalent these traits are. Don’t you find it odd how this dude has SEVERE megalomania? Well, I did research and found out that Narcissism has a very sad connection most of the time and affects males more than females.

Sexual assault victims ALSO don’t like being touched without consent so this just adds more proof to my claim! And serial killers tend to have a rough family life and have been molested, taken advantage of, neglected, or all of the above! 

It’s also come to my attention that Alastor enjoys talking with women more than men for 2 reasons. 1) Alastor finds it easier and more enjoyable to talk with women. 2) He finds men to be dumb brutes at least in hell.

Alastor most likely has a very harsh grudge against the world due to his treatment as a young child. His abuse, and possible loss of his mother growing up, lead to him finding joy in seeing those suffer and fail EVERY SINGLE TIME! Notice the way he talks creepily to Charlie about watching sinners “Repeatedly trip and tumble down to the fiery pits of F A I L U R E.” Look at this man’s face as he’s saying this! The man looks turned on with the VERY fact of people suffering, that’s his kink, y’all, he a damn sadist! (No, being asexual doesn’t mean you can’t have kinks, I’ve checked, lol. Got you fam.) Ahem, anyway, this dude has got a hate boner for the world and finds relief when exacting pain on others because he feels wronged and feels the world is to blame. He does seem to acknowledge and accept that where he’s at is the end of the road for those who want to change, their chance was when they were alive, and has accepted that this is the natural order of things and they can’t fix that. I had this vibe that he must have gone to church as a kid due to his mom being religious and he loved his mom so he obeyed, Has been stated by Faustisse that he’s a mama’s boy, BUT remember, Vivzie said anything that comes out of HER mouth is what’s canon. Unless she has already stated it as fact any other info can’t be trusted. (Even though this info is PAINSTAKINGLY clear just by him mentioning his mother’s cooking and it just makes too much sense, lol.)

So he must have grown up to be low-key violent but with manners like he practiced being slick and suave in order to trick people into trusting him so that he may kill them without getting caught, which would work perfectly with him not chasing people due to his moral code. He practiced and practiced and seeing as how he was well-off in his later years, I’d assume he started doing his radio schtick when he was in his early 20s or at the age of 18. So he began when the roaring 20s was just starting, a new beginning for him!

This is a HEAVY hint to what happened in his life and why he’s so drawn to seeing people fail and helps hold my theory together quite a bit, if not a lot. Of all the names to give this dude, he was given a name that legit is on par with the word “Vengeance” and “Avenger”. Vengeance for what? Avenge who? He was wronged. He possibly is angered also by the death of his mother, who was most likely his ONLY ray of light. He is a broken man who most likely has insecurities, based on the info of narcissism which tells us that narcissistic people are the most insecure sorts of people. Alastor is aware of this and sees it as a weakness, something to be culled and hidden from the world never seeing the light of day. His only way of making himself feel stronger and more in control was through voodoo and cannibalism. Many Cannibals believe to be the bees-knees since they go a step FURTHER into crime by devouring their victims and placing themselves into a rank different and more feared by the rest. They see that no one else would even have the balls to attempt to reach that spot, which again leads back to the way Alastor thinks. Dude has so much baggage that he hides behind a smile he thinks ALONE brings strength like niBBa are you serious? I’d like to see this man try and say that to the faces of strong people like Superman, Goku, Midoriya, Naruto, Broly, Wonder Woman, GOD. Yo even GOD shows emotions. Wanna know why these beings are strong? It ain’t just cause they smile, Nah, it’s cause they’re determined or the very literal embodiment of determination. they have a damn balance and that strength helps them smile through the pain, they don’t need to exhibit a smile to be strong cause them being themselves and having the strong mentality is what gives them strength, not a damn smile. Watch Charlie hit him with the good old reality check when the man attempts to freaking take over her joint (Both hotel and hell) and she proves strength ain’t just gained through smiling or dominating others. He high-key sounds weak for even having that mindset, only weaklings think like this. He has a very weak view of life which brought forth a monster, or should I say DEMON.

It’s all them but some have a DUALITY to them. As hinted at by the word "dual" within it, duality refers to having two parts, often(but not always) with opposite meanings, like the duality of good and evil. If there are two sides to a coin, metaphorically speaking, there's a duality. Notice how Alastor also has a duality in him. What kind tho? Remember those shadows that follow him everywhere? Yeah I'm pretty sure those shadows represents his duality in some way, shape, or form.

I also forgot to add that Masochism and Sadism both ALSO stem from the same things Narcissism does or similar things like being sexually abused as a kid. Remember not all cases are the same, I just wanted to put that out there (Not sure If Al is still a Masochist since that’s old info from him being just a deer and liked it when people tried to kill him.)

So in conclusion:

-Dude was possibly abused as a child by his Father

-he hates society/the world due to his terrible child life

-He possibly feels shame for what he has done and thus has accepted his fate

-He loves his mama and MOST LIKELY hates his father who probs is the one who did him a terrible service for just being his father growing up, this would explain his view on men as well

-He also feels shame for being so weak to even allow his father or any male figure to do what they did to him

-Man gets turned on when seeing people like sinners suffer.

KEEP. IN. MIND. None of this excuses his terrible behavior and excuses for being so power-hungry, He’s an interesting character and I love his quirks but he is by no means a victim without faults. He is a product of society and that’s sad but he needs to pay for his horrible actions. Cannibalism is going to far, using you and your victim’s blood for voodoo isn’t excusable, and just killing someone for the sake of vengeance won’t make the pain go away, so nothing he does that involves harming people is cute or a way to suppress his anger, which he’ll have to learn the hard way in this story, I bet. Hopefully, it’s done well cause he’s still very much a bad guy regardless of the fact that he is aiding charlie.

WHEW, that was a long post, one of my longest ones! I really wanted to write out my thoughts on this character cause I’m ALWAYS intrigued by the mystery characters like him withhold. They tend to have hints to their behavior and it was really fun traveling through the possibilities of his nature. I’m probably 100% wrong about all of what I said since I am still not sure about everything and I researched as much as I could. as a human he was struggling to make ends meet and didn’t have a family of his own, instead staying with his parents. in a way, being turned felt like a huge weight was off his shoulders.

he’s really just trying to survive, has probably contemplated how he could die but doesn’t actively pursuing that. it’s an idea he toys with in case he ever gets tired of ‘living’.

Thank you so much. I’m pleased to hear you’ve been enjoying them. Particularly my Rosegardenones since they’re always my favourite ones to write.

Regarding Oscar’s semblance; I actually shared one or two posts on my idea for Oscar’s semblance including one which was a response to RWBYYoutuber ThatKaitoDan.

Aaah yes, ye ole Oscar’s plant-based semblance. That was one of the first headcanons I heard for Oscar’s semblance and it’s pretty much still a pretty popular one.

But if you’re asking me for my thoughts on this being Oscar’s semblance, I’m gonna be honest with ya fam. I never quite bought into that theory. I mean…Iget it. I get why many folks would jump on this theory bandwagon. Oscar’s semblance must be something Earth-elemental or plant-based because he’s our veteran precious freckled small farm boy, right? When I look at it through that lens, I can see why folks would like it.

However my reasoning for never truly hoping on-board with this theory is because, what do we know about semblances?

According to World of Remnant, by definition, one’s semblance is an extension of their aura into a more tangible form. Basically one’s semblance is a unique power associated with said individual. From what I understand, semblances are meant to represent who they are as a person since it’s more or less a projection of their very soul. Their very being.

Up until this point, you can pretty much say that everyone’s semblance is a reflection of their character and their personality.

This is why I’m not in favour of the plant manipulation theory. When I hear that as Oscar’s semblance, I automatically see the reason being because Oscar is a farm boy and as I said, I get it in that sense. However being a small farm boy from Mistral isn’t who Oscar is. I mean…yes it’s an integral part of his upbringing and past but it’s not representative of him as a person.

If Oscar was someone described to have a love for nature and be interested in plants then I can see that being his power. However, when I look back on Oscar’s story, part of it involved him desiring to be more than just a farmhand. He wanted to do more with his life than what he was raised to be.

So him, having a power that represents the lifestyle he grew up in that he secretly desired to move away from didn’t click with me. It’s no problem if you or anyone else are fans of this theory. That’s fine.

It’s just that I’ve always had a different idea…well ideas, on what Oscar’s semblance could be and none of them involved plants or Earth powers.

In the past, I pegged Oscar on having more of a mind-based semblance. Before, the only person with a mental semblance was Emerald and back in V5, I was hoping that Oscar would become another huntsman with a mind semblance. I was hoping that Oscar’s power would’ve been something along the lines of Telepathy—where he could connect to others through their minds and thus help heal them from within. I figured that could’ve been Oscar’s power since he strikes me as the type of individual who’s always willing to do what he can tohelp others. Despite still knowing very little about him after three seasons,if there is one thing I can card about Oscar as a person is his readiness to help even when he himself might be limited.

He’s always eager to lend a helping hand even when he might not have the right words or know what’s best to make. But he still tries. He will still make an attempt if it meant helping someone in someshape or form.

If I were to play Blake Belladonna and describe Oscar Pine in one word, it would be selfless.Not to make it sound bad or anything but Oscar seems to care very little abouthimself especially in the face of a danger. In the sense that he’s always more fervent to put himself before another. At the time when I made the telepathy theory, I perceived Oscar as the type of person with a knack for connecting with others on a deeper level. Back in V4, Ozpin voiced Oscar that he had the potential for greatness. That he had the aptitude to be the kind of person to give a helping hand when humanity needed it most. And ever since that season, I feel as if ‘helping hand’ is a trait that Oscar has almost come to live up to.

It is both noble and…somewhat problematic how very little Oscar seems to care about himself in the face of others. He wants to do the best he can, even within limits. In my eyes, I see Oscar as an individual whose desire to help and do more is infinite while he himself is often rather limited—whether it’s by his own experience as a huntsmen or his time as himself. He definitely seems like he wants to do more but there are chains that are keeping him from doing so…in a metaphorical sense.

Ultimately I wound up abandoning the telepathy theory for Oscar. Especially now when RWBY After the Fall revealed the CFVY member Fox has that power. Currently, one of my key theories for Oscar’s semblance is Nullification—disabling someone from using their semblance so that, in the event of a threat, they can no longer be a danger to themselves or others. I explained this theory best in its original musing post right here.

My second choice for Oscar’s semblance is Magic. I like the idea of Oscar’s true power being magic itself since it fits into so many things about him. From a fairy tale standpoint, it fits since Oscar draws inspiration from Princess Ozma—the rightful ruler of Oz and powerful magic-user. So it makes sense to me that Oscar becomes a powerful wizard with magic as his signature power.

Another reason why I like the idea of Oscar’s power being Magic is due to the point that I made about Oscar’s character. Oscar is someone who is selfless—willing to do whatever he can even within limitations. Imagine Oscar being forced into a scenario where he wants to do more but he can’t because there’s something stopping him. There’s always something stopping him. Always something holding him back.

So imagine if…in the past, Oscar always wanted to do more but was told he couldn’t for whatever reason. Maybe as a little boy, he was told he couldn’t do certain things other kids could because he was too small in size. Or perhaps as a teenager, he was told he couldn’t help the adults (like his parents) because he was too young. He was just a boy. A child and because of that, he’d only get in the way.

As a huntsman, he can’t help his team as much as he’d like to since he’s still tooinexperienced as a fighter. And the final crutch, he wants to help as much as he can as Oscar—he wants to keep fighting with his friends as Oscar but he’s limited by time since he’s not sure how much longer he has as Oscar.

There’s always something holding Oscar back from what he’s truly capable of doing. His weakness is that he is always limited by something withholding him from his true potential. So…perhaps Oscar’s semblance—his true power would be something that would grant him the unlimited power to do anything.

Currently, magic is a source of unlimited power in RWBY’s lore. Therefore, I believe it’s a power very suitable for Oscar to become a master of. I strongly believe that magic is destined to be Oscar’s hidden strength.

I don’t know if Magic could even be considered a semblance. Nonetheless, like I said, I think it can work for Oscar since it feels like a power he should have given who he is, who he’s destined to become and more specifically, who he was inspired by.

One’s semblance is their own individual power. An ability that is unique to them since it’s an extension of their aura—their very soul. Their very sense of self. So that being said, I’d like to toss out this new Oscar semblance theory.

What if…and this is a BIG IF…Oscar can’t have a semblance. 

What if…Oscar will never be able to unlock a semblance since his whole Man with Two Souls thing spiritually prevents him from unlocking a power that’sunique to him. 

Hear me out with this one, okay? Like I said, as person’s semblance, in the words of Nora Valkyrie, is their very own superpower. It’s a power unique to them (in most cases) since it’s meant to be an extension of their very soul.

This brings to light a question I wish to ask about the Wizards of Light. Did any of the Wizards before possess unique semblances of their own? One’s semblance is a power unique to them. So my question is, if a Wizard unlocked their own semblance during their lifetime, is their semblance then passed down to their successor upon death since a Wizard’s soul never dies, it’s just reborn in the body of the next candidate in the cycle. And then when that present Wizard unlocks their semblance, do they have control over that plus their predecessors’ semblance?

Is Oscar, as the current incarnate of Ozma, just sitting on a gold mine of powers waiting to be tapped into or…could it be my hunch where Oscar, and by extension, any Wizard of Light, can’t possess a semblance since a Wizard isn’t one soul.

A semblance is the power projected from one’s individual soul. However Oscar isn’t just one soul. He isn’t even two souls despite the key term. Oscar is part of a culmination of many different souls over lifetimes in one body. When I look at it from this perspective, I’m starting to wonder if it’ll be possible for Oscar to even have a ‘semblance’ at all given his ‘condition’.

What if…this might even provide another limitation for Oscar to dealwith.

Imagine…Oscar training and working so very, very hard to unlock hissemblance only for Ozpin (or perhaps someone who’s been studying his aura, like let’s say General Ironwood) to sort of drop the ball on himand say that he’s incapable of ever unlocking a semblance.

As I’ll reiterate again, semblances are an individual’s own unique power. Even in the case of family bloodlines (like the Schnees), this still applies since while blood is thicker than water, it’s not thicker than the soul; that makes a lick of sense. Even with shared semblances, individually, the Schnees are still their own people sharing in the power that their family was built upon and using itas they chose to use it. They may share a power. But they don’t share a soul.

This is the kicker with Oscar. He’s not just one individual. Sadly to say it but, Oscar, technically, isn’t …his own person. His soul is bound to another in a string of many other lives. I can see if being difficult for Oscar to have his own individual power when he’s not just one person. 

It’s not even a case like with the Schnees. He’s not inherited a power viablood. He’s sharing a body with another soul who is an embodiment of many.While I still think it’d be cool for Oscar to have a semblance, I’m going totoy around with the concept of what if he didn’t. 

What if…our precious small farm boy can’t have a semblance? He’s even worse than Jaune in that regards. With Jaune, it was more or less a mental block and waiting for the right trigger. With Oscar, imagine if he can’t do it at all because of the very thing that’s been his crutch from the get-go. Him being part of two souls. Him eventually merging with said soul and possibly disappearing during all of it.

Imagine…Oscar clinging to the hope of unlocking his very own semblance as a sign that there might be a small chance for him to still be his own person despite everything? If Oscar were to have his own power—a power that represents him. A power that is his and wasn’t something he inherited from another. If he had that then he would still be him.

Picture…Oscar clinging desperately to this goal as some sort of lifeline in a sense only to be told upfront that he’d never be able to have his own unique power since he isn’t his own person. He could never be his own person. Not anymore. Never again.

Can you imagine… Oscar, the boy who has been silently bottling up his emotions over the Merge, becoming hopeful about semblance training only to learn that…no matter how hard he tried. No matter how hard he worked or trained, nothing is going to change. He can’t stop it. He was never going to be able to run away from his fate. 

I don’t buy into Oscar fully accepting his fate with the Merge from V6 C9. I feel as if Oscar has become like how Ruby was back in V5. Indifferent and trying to act all brave to keep up appearances when in reality he isn’t truly fine with everything that’s happened to him and is going to happen to him. You cannot convince me for a millisecond that Oscar is 100% fine with the Merge.

I feel like Oscar’s run since V4 has been about him constantly convincing himself that accepting his fate was what he should do. It’s all he could do when there’s been that other side that’s been screaming the latter—the side he suppresses most of the time.

Nope. I think he’s bottling up his truefeelings and at some point, Oscar’s going to have another meltdown like in V5 C5. Probably even worse with more tears. Might even punch a wall in frustration…or SOMETHING with extreme anguish. 

Ozpin was allowed his tearful meltdown. I’m still patiently waiting on Oscar’s to happen cause you can somewhat feel it coming. 

Back in V5, Oscar was mostly scared about previously fighting in the Battle of Haven. So I could only imagine now what’s really going through his head (literally) regarding the whole idea of signing his body and life away to an entity whose been trying to stop an immortal threat for years and has failed multiple times. 

I feel like another epic meltdown is on the way for Oscar. An actual one this time, with tears and lots of wailing. A golden opportunity for Aaron Dismuke to give us his best emotional acting in the history of anime voice acting.

I’d actually be pretty disappointed if it doesn’t happen by now in V7 since; and I cannot stress this enough, Oscar needs to vent. It’s part of the reason why I’ve been dissatisfied with how the Writers just constantly portray Oscar with just being perfectly ok with everything that’s happened to him. 

I get that he’s a young, impressionable teenager made to have the maturity of an adult beyond his years but Jeez Louise on cheese, would it kill these guys to give Oscar some more depth and ACTUALLY delve into him as a person and character. I guess, only time will tell for V7 I suppose.

Resuming talk on semblances, if Oscar is revealed to have NO semblance, this is where I can see magic being his substitute for a semblance. When I think about it, Oscar doesn’t really need a semblance. As a matter of fact, there’s no unique power more fitting for Oscar to have than magic in my eyes.

If magic can be a semblance, then I’d pick magic to be Oscar’s true power. He’s meant to be a destined for greatness. So let him be that. Forget semblances all together for Oscar Pine! Let him use magic instead.

Let this small farm boy become the great and powerful wizard I know he’s meant to be. This is why I’m gunning for my theory of Oscar taking the Fall Maiden magic back from Cinder. Since the Maiden magic are connected to Oscar via his connection to Ozma—the original source of the power, I believehe might possess the power to take the Maiden magic back without having to killthe Maidens.

I’m banking on Cinder overpowering Oscar only for him to suddenly start revoking some of the Maiden magic into his body, empowering him.

Man, imagine if karma comes back to bite Cinder in the ass. Funnily enough, when Cinder had ambushed the original Fall Maiden with Emerald and Mercury, she ended up stealing some of her magic with a Grimm that left a nasty blemish across Amber’s right eye. Ironically, when Ruby first used her Silver Eyes on her, Cinder lost her eye on the same side. 

Now I’m picturing karma returning to chomp on Cinder again where, just as she blindsided Amber and stole some of her power—imagine Oscar blindsiding her and taking back some of Ozma’s magic.

Then imagine Oscar using that magic to defeat Cinder and similar to Amber, just as how she was made to kneel helplessly while Cinder stole her power—Cinder would be put in the same position as Oscar takes back what she stole. A power that was never meant to be hers in the first place. Isn’t that not what Cinder said to Pyrhha before she murdered her? Wouldn’ that be an interesting scene to see play out. 

So Oscar takes back the Fall Maiden powers and thus, becomes empowered with magic and finally unlocks his true potential. That’s my main theory.

Besides, if Oscar’s power is indeed magic then I can see Earth-themed magic being his preference. With the Maidens, they all seem to have a base element ofchoice. For Cinder, it was fire. For Raven, it was ice (even though she’s supposed to be the Spring Maiden?) so for Oscar, earth can his elementof choice as a wizard.  This in turn can play into yours and everyone’sfavourite Pinehead theory of Oscar becoming an earth bender of some kind.

I’ll only accept the plant powers for Oscar when it comes to his magical abilities. Those are my thoughts on that. Hope that answers you Dark. Sorry if I took so long in responding. Thanks for the inbox fam~

                 “Take. It. Off.”

                 “Don’t apologize if you don’t mean it.”

“Where do you want to hang the ribbons, y/n?” your best friend Jimin asked you as he held up the violet coloured string against the wall, checking to see if it fit. 

You shrugged, “Wherever you want.”

You didn’t mean to seem uncaring but you were just exhausted. You were getting married this weekend to your other half, Namjoon. You loved that boy with your entire heart and you couldn’t wait to tie the knot with him, but wedding planning wasn’t the most enlightening activity. People were always asking you questions, there were so many decisions to make, so many things to arrange, and the list just goes on and on. However, there was one thing that really concerned you, and that was your weight. by the wAy you really shouldn’t be because you’re absolutely damn beautiful ok? end of discussion.

You had found a perfect dress a few months ago, and you felt blessed to find a dress that complimented you beautifully. But, you did feel like the dress squeezed a little too hard at the wrong places, and you were very conscious about whether your stomach protruded the front of the dress, or whether your arms looked too flabby being held by the sleeves. When you said those things, your family was like r u dumb? but in a sort of nicer way, you know what I mean? They told you that it was nonsense and you looked stunning, which you did by the way, but sometimes those thoughts linger at the back of your mind and come out in the worst of times. Like now. 

“Okay, I get it. Wedding planning taking a toll on you, huh? Well that’s not a problem, my friend, know why? Because your best friend in the whole entire world is going to take you out for some tea and cakes. What do you say?” Jimin asked as he extended his hand out toward you. 

You smiled weakly at him, “You sound super British like that. Tea and cakes? Seriously?”

He chuckled, “Hey it sounds fancy, okay?”

You nodded and then sighed softly, “Yeah, thanks, Jimin, but I’m not really hungry.”

“You don’t have to be hungry to have tea,” he tried to reason. 

You shook your head, “I’m just not feeling it, Jimin.”

He frowned slightly and let his shoulders drop. He nodded understandingly and then took your hands, pulling you up. 

“Okay, then how about we take a walk by the river? Then have some ice cream?” he suggested. 

“No, no ice cream,” you groaned. 

“Alright, alright! Just a walk then?” he pleaded. 

“Okay, a walk sounds nice,” you said thankfully, and let Jimin lead you out of the hall. 

You’ve been watching what you ate lately. You really wanted to lose every inch of extra fat that you had so that you could look nice in your dress. But you overdid it. You starved yourself too much, that you constantly felt weak and sometimes even dizzy. You felt so dead inside, like there was no energy to keep you going. ya obviously bc ur not eating, god dammit y/n, ur fam was right, u dumb but u also beautiful as hell woman.

Jimin noticed your change in behaviour, in fact, most people did. Even Namjoon could sense that something was bothering you, but every time anyone asked you about it, you’d just shrug them off. You were determined to look good in that dress, and so you ate nothing but a few slices of fruit and some water everyday. Most of the time you’d skip breakfast, and by the time lunch came around you were practically starving, but you didn’t want to eat. how stubborn tsk tsk.

Whenever people offered you food, you’d decline, not wanting any extra calories entering your system. The thought of eating put you off, and you got annoyed and irritated with people when they’d tried to get you to eat something. 

“y/n, are you sure you’re okay? You don’t look well,” Jimin asked concerned. 

“I’m fine, I just need to sleep it off,” you shrugged. 

“I don’t think you’re tired, y/n. I mean, it’s not the tiredness that’s causing this. It’s something else. You look terribly unwell,” Jimin said seriously. 

You huffed, “Jimin, I’m fine, really-”

“You’re not eating, y/n,” he cut you off. 

You shot him a stare, a very angry and disappointed one. 

“Just leave it alone, Jimin.”

The two of you didn’t say another word to each other as Jimin walked you home. You felt bad for arguing with him, he was just looking out for you. You reached the entrance of the apartment building and turned to Jimin to thank him for walking you home. He just nodded and gave you a small awkward smile, and then left. You groaned inwardly at how mean and stupid you were being. You made it a point to make it up to him tomorrow. As you walked into the building, you saw Namjoon waiting at the lobby. He turned to you and smiled, and you grinned back at him, walking over so that he could pull you into his arms. 

“Hi, baby. I didn’t think you’d be back so soon,” Namjoon said as he kissed the top of your head. 

“I was feeling a little tired, so I thought I’d leave the decorating for tomorrow,” you sighed and looked up at him. He was at least a head taller than you. 

Then you looked over and saw him carrying a white bag. You frowned in confusion and pointed to it, “What’s that?”

Namjoon glanced at the bag and then back to you. “Oh, I brought us dinner. It’s been a long time since we sat down and ate together, just the two of us, so I bought some of your favourites. I thought we could catch up on your favourite shows and munch on these.”

The mentioning of food made you feel slightly sick. 

“Oh, Joon, why didn’t you tell me you were getting dinner? I’m not really that hungry, I don’t think I could eat anything right now,” you said slightly panicked. 

He frowned, “But it’s only seven. And all you ate for lunch were some apples, right? Did you have anything after that?”

“I, um, no I didn’t, but I’m really quite full,” you tried to reason. 

He shook his head, “No, y/n, you need to eat. Plus I already bought all this food, I can’t let it go to waste. Just eat some of it, at least. Please, babe?”

You sighed in defeat. You had already fought with Jimin, you didn’t want to upset Namjoon too. Maybe you’d eat like five grains of rice and a little bit of soup. That didn’t sound too bad. five grains of rice??????? wtfdjskddjs

Once inside the apartment, Namjoon went to prepare the plates and scooped some food onto yours before bringing it back to the sofa where you were trying to find something nice to watch. He handed you the plate and your stomach churned just looking at that pile of calories. You took the plate from him hesitantly and mumbled a small ‘thanks’ and he sat down next to you with his own food. The two of you watched the movie as you ate, but you had hardly eaten a spoonful of anything. Namjoon was already finished with his food when he saw that the food on your plate was untouched. 

“Everything okay, y/n?” he asked concerned. 

You looked at him and smiled, “Yeah, all good.”

He nodded back at you and then went to the kitchen to do the dishes. From the kitchen, Namjoon saw that you were picking apart grains of rice on your plate, and pushing some meat aside, but you weren’t actually eating anything. Then he took in your figure. You were so damn skinny, you felt like a pile of bones. He felt how weak you were when he hugged you earlier, and your face just wasn’t as bright anymore. It was dull, weakened, you looked starved. Namjoon thought back to these past few months, and he realised that he never saw you eat a proper meal, not even once. Your excuses were that you weren’t hungry, or that you had already eaten, but Namjoon wasn’t with you 24/7 to observe what you ate everyday. Since the wedding was coming up, the two of you had to run around and sort out different things, so Namjoon would always call to ask if you’ve eaten and you would always say yes but who’s to say that you actually did?

It saddened him very much, to see his soon to be wife look almost malnourished. He figured he’d have to ask you about it now, and this time he wasn’t going to let you shrug it off so easily. So he marched back into the living room, and turned off the television before sitting next to you. 

“Hey, what was that for?” you asked. 

“y/n,” he sighed, “You haven’t even touched your food. What’s going on?”

You paused for a moment, looking down at your plate, and then faced him again. 

“Nothing’s wrong, Joon. I’m just not hungry,” you said calmly.

“Well why aren’t you hungry, y/n?” he asked in a more serious tone. 

You took a deep breath and then exhaled loudly, placing your plate on the coffee table. 

“If this is about wasting the food then-”

“y/n, this is not about the food. It’s about you. Why aren’t you eating?”

You huffed, “What is it with people forcing me to eat all the time? I’ll eat when I want to!”

“You’re starving yourself,” he snapped. 

You looked at him angrily, “Am not!”

“Yes, you are, y/n! I haven’t seen you eat a proper meal in months. Whenever people offer you food, you reject it. Whenever someone asks you out for breakfast, lunch, dinner, whatever it may be, if it involves food, you don’t want it. Why? Why is that, y/n? What the hell are you up to?” he argued. 

That’s when you let a tear fall. You stood up and began to walk towards the stairs but Namjoon held your hand tightly and pulled you back. 

“I won’t let you walk away from it this time, y/n. You have to tell me what’s going on. I’m really worried about you, we all are! Just look at you y/n, you look so fragile as if me just holding you could shatter you into pieces. This is extremely bad for you,” he said holding you tightly. 

You exhaled shakily and let out a small sob. “Namjoon, let me go.”

“You know I can’t do that,” he said sympathetically. 

You let your head fall onto Namjoon’s shoulder and he held you firmly, caressing the back of your head. You cried and cried while he rubbed your back, soothing you. You let everything out, all your pent up anger and sadness, all your pain, all the frustrations you felt towards yourself, you cried it all out. 

“You’re right,” you wailed. “Oh god, you’re so right. I’m sorry, Joon, I really am.”

He sighed, “Baby, don’t apologize if you don’t mean it.”  

“I wanted to look nice in the dress,” you cried, struggling to breathe properly. 

“You mean the wedding dress?” he asked in confusion. 

You nodded, sniffling. 

“y/n, what are you talking about? That dress looked gorgeous on you, so much that it appalled everyone. Do you know how much I wish I was there to see it?”

“B-but it shows my stomach, a-and it makes me look big-”

“y/n,” he stopped you. “Who told you those things, hm?”

You sighed, “No one.”

“Did anyone ever tell you how insanely beautiful you are? Inside, and out?” he asked as he tucked a stray strand of hair behind your ear. 

“N-no,” you faltered.

He tutted, “Are you sure?”

You looked up at him and he was smiling softly down at you. He was cupping your cheeks in his big hands, wiping the tears running down your face. 

You laughed softly, “You. You did.”

He nodded, “That’s right, baby.”

“There is nothing wrong with you, y/n. Absolutely nothing. There should never be a reason for you to do such a thing to yourself. I love you so, so much, and only because you’re you. You are everything that I could possibly want, and I’m honestly so lucky to have you. So don’t even think about changing yourself in any way because I love this,” he paused to pinch the sides of your hips, making you squeal.

“And this,” he continued, and then moved his hands down to squeeze your ass, making you laugh wholeheartedly. 

“And this,” he said moving his hands to your breasts but you were quick to stop him, making the two of you burst into a fit of giggles. 

Then he moved his hands to your face, squeezing your cheeks, “Also this,” he murmured, and then moved forward to kiss your lips. 

“I love all of this. I’m in love with all of you, y/n,” he breathed out finally.

You looked up at your fiancé with so much adoration, and let out another small cry. 

“Baby, no, why are you crying now?” he asked concerned, quickly wiping the tears from your cheeks. 

“I just, I love you so much, Joon. I don’t know what I did to deserve you,” you sniffled. 

He smiled softly at you, and kissed you again, pouring all of his love and lust into the kiss. Soon the two of you were kissing each other feverishly, hands everywhere. Namjoon pulled away first, gasping for air. 

“y/n, I want to see you,” he said breathily. 

You gasped and looked at him eyes half closed, “Are you sure?”

“Yes, baby. If I can, that is?” he asked carefully. 

“Of course you can,” you groaned and kissed him again. 

Namjoon pulled your shirt off of your body, and then moved to unclasp your bra, but um, he was taking too long.

“Take. It. Off.” you groaned impatiently. 

“It’s not my fault these things are so complicated,” he whined. 

You loved your sweet and silly fiancé.

SO EVERYONE GETS TO HEAR ME YELL ABOUT MY LORGE ANGERY GORL!!!!!

So her name is Valera and she’s a really tall, buff, pale blue Zabrak with long white hair and dark grey eyes. She’s the tank of the group and I love her very muchly. She’s very awkward and short tempered and more than a bit rude with almost no verbal filter or social skills, so she skulks in the shadows. She doesn’t like people unless they’re little kids or her family, and she doesn’t do friends.

Valera’s backstory isn’t so much tragic as it is kinda really unlucky. So her parents run a bar on the lower levels of Coruscant (they have their own dramatic love story that I won’t get into rn lol) and her mother Sif was super strong in the Force but where she was born, the Jedi never found her so she’s just grown up being more than a little odd.

Sif’s twins, Valen and Valera are also Force Sensitive, but I’m breaking the Star Wars Twin Rules right here and saying that Valen was way more powerful, Force-wise than Valera was. So, since they’re on freakin’ Coruscant and way more noticeable, the Jedi come a’calling around the time the twins are three and realize that really only Valen’s strong enough to be a Jedi, but if his parents don’t want to separate their twins that’s cool. The parents are kinda heartbroken, but Sif knows Valen is even stronger than her and always kind of wished the Jedi could have found her and helped her when she was a girl, so she agrees to give Valen to the Order so they can train him while she’ll keep Valera because she’ll be able to handle helping her control things at that level.

Valera always remembers she had a twin, and her parents never shy away from the fact that her brother had to go to the Jedi because he needed “help”, and no, they don’t think he’s coming home, but they still love her just as much, so she only feels the tiniest bit jealous. Valera gets another pair of twin siblings when she’s five, neither Force Sensitive, and then another little brother when she’s nine, but unfortunately right after her younger brother is born, her mother passes away from a sudden illness (no she doesn’t die in childbirth she just gets sick and pregnancy doesn’t help it), and now Valera has to step up to be a mother to her younger siblings and ends up as the support for her grieving father.

She’s helping run the bar and grill by the time she’s eleven, but their neighborhood is getting seedier and seedier, and Valera knows that she has some special abilities because her mother told her, but she refuses to believe that she has legit Force powers because she’s talked herself into thinking that only Jedi have real Force powers and if she did have them, the Jedi would have taken her with her mystery brother away from her family, and she can’t leave her family now, they need her, so she can’t be Force Sensitive or the Jedi might find out and come back for her and make her work for them. No, Valera’s just Very Lucky, and maybe her luck can do some good after the bar gets robbed one night. She finds the nearest gang leader and joins up, quickly being put to use for her “luckiness” and natural speediness and strength. She’s fully sucked into gang life and gang wars by the time she’s a teenager, and she doesn’t enjoy it, not at all, but it keeps people away from her father’s bar and away from her younger siblings, and she gets money she can give to her family. She does some pretty nasty stuff too, but again she doesn’t care because her family comes first and the world is a suckish place anyway, why should she be nice? (Again, she won’t hurt kids tho. Call it a weakness.)

Everything changes when Valera turns 21 and the Clone Wars break out. Now while Valera was growing up and getting into trouble, Valen grows up a very skilled Padawan and new knight. Since he was so skilled, when the Clone Wars start like a month or two after his knighthood, he’s also given a general’s rank and a clone division at a young age. He’s not as young as Anakin and by no means as famous, not by a long shot, but he’s still good at his job so the name and face of Jedi General Knight Valen Flynt makes its way into the holos enough times that he’s recognizeable.

Valera knows him as her twin brother the instant. Tho Valen mostly lost the memories of his family once he reached the Temple and chose not to go looking for them because he’s also awkward at heart and doesn’t know if he wants to create a relationship with by that point strangers, Valera remembers him well. They definitely are twins, with both having the same skin shading, same hair color and approximate length, the same height, same eyes, same facial structure, hells, their names even sound alike. The man on the holos is absolutely her twin, and even tho she hasn’t seen him since they were literally three, she can’t help but love him because she’s always felt a connection there, and hey, he’s still family, right?

Unfortunately, given that Valera looks almost exactly like a Jedi General and has a similar name, that starts to bring trouble down on her family. People keep getting suspicious, even though they all try to push it off as a common Zabrak name and nah, Val really doesn’t look that much like him (Val cuts her hair, gets intricate tattoos, wears heavy makeup and changes her clothing style completely. She also beats whoever makes insinuations to hell and back. She’ll hold some love for Mystery Brother, but he still ignored their family for 18 years, he doesn’t get to suddenly pop up all over the news and drag her and their family name onto the targetboard, even if he doesn’t know he’s causing them all this trouble) and so on, but after a few violent altercations and false recognitions, Valera decides the best thing to do is leave Coruscant for her family’s safety. She sends her youngest brother who also looks like her and Valen and their mother off to work on an uncle’s smuggling ship far away in the Outer Rim where he can’t be hurt, trusts her late teen middle sibs to look after the bar with their father, luckily they both look like him, and with her deciding to take crime jobs off planet, she can probs get the heat off of them until the war ends and Jedi Valen Flynt fades back into relative obscurity.

Valera is 25 and visiting home for the first time in over a year when Order 66 happens. If she climbs high enough she can see the Temple she would always stare at to imagine her brother burn, she feels Valen disappear in the Force, she knows something happened, and when the new “Emperor” gets on the holos talking about how the Jedi were apparently traitors, Valera and her fam flat-out refuse to believe it. They may not have known Valen for very long at all, but they’re still family, dammit, and no one from their family would be evil, they just know it. Sif trusted Valen to the Order because she thought it would be best for him and Sif, their beautiful tragic mother, would NOT have done that if the Jedi were the bad guys, she would have known something was up.

So the new Empire is lying, what a surprise, none of them trusted or liked the Republic that much anyway, you can put lipstick on a pufferpig but it’ll still be a lying, power-hungry pufferpig. That means there must have been another reason the Empire killed all the Jedi, and Valera is afraid to find out what once she sees how scared the public who believes the lies gets, and how fast it turns on Force sensitives. She’s angry, even if she never much liked the Republic, her brother put his life on the line for you, and then your government killed him and you say he deserved it, how dare you? Anyway, Valera figures that as horrible as it is, it might be safe to stick closer to her family now that her brother is dead and not plastering his and her face all over the galaxy.

She doesn’t last a year before her old contacts start whispering about “evil Jedi spirits”, dark figures with red lightsabers who hunt down anyone who acts like a Jedi as revenge. Valera has a very strong Bad Feeling about those rumors and gets the hell out of Dodge before the Inquisitors can find her, and goes back to her spacer routine for the next almost twenty years, getting odd jobs around the galaxy, sending money to her father (all her siblings are grown at this point, but at least two are on Coruscant, and one’s stayed to help with the bar).

That’s how Val’s life is and one of those odd jobs is what ended her up on the current campaign’s Bespin heist!!!!

so . endgame . this is gonna be a spoiler filled review so pls skip this if u haven’t watched it!! forewarning: this is a relatively positive review and I’m a tony stan so if you disliked the movie / tony stark and want to find more ppl like you, you are not gonna find it here but I am gonna critique a few things too bc there were issues to be addressed. also, while this is a Hot Také™️ opinion piece that doesn’t mean I lack the ability to understand or even agree with the opposing opinions; this is just what I came out the theater with and still think about after discussion with others.

Anyway let’s begin!

Personally, Endgame gave me great closure for one of my favorite characters. I’m extremely Tony biased like, to a very extreme degree but he’s a character I connect with who has personally helped me through the years with his story so I think my attachment and bias can be excused a little. Even with that bias, I believe I can also understand other characters without the “I Love Tony Stark So Much” goggles shaping what I see. This is also gonna focus on the main six because this movie is dedicated to them, but all the other characters were awesome and I enjoyed their cameos/presence.

I’m gonna talk about Tony first because he’s my main focus for being so invested in the MCU. I’ve been watching the MCU since it started and 11 years later, seeing my favorite character, a character I connected with so much especially because of IM3 where he had anxiety and panic attacks like I was having at the time / still have (to a lesser degree though), die hurts so much. I could not stop crying in about the last hour when I knew he was gonna die. I’ve said it before on this site that the logical conclusion for his story is death. The only way Tony is gonna leave the armor as he’s been trying to since Avengers 1 is to die. He IS Iron Man, Iron Man is HIM, there is no difference. The only way Iron Man is over is if his life ends, too. So with that I figured this would be the end for him. I’ve been thinking he’s gonna die since Infinity War so, his death was not too much of a surprise. It still hurt like hell to see it happen, to know he’s truly gone. What hurts the most is that Morgan Stark will never truly know her father personally. She’s too young to remember much but at least she has his legacy surrounding her and loving her, knowing her father exchanged his life for her and everyone else on Earth to live freely. I did like that Tony got to see his dad one last time while he was a father himself. He got to come to terms with his dad in a way he never could before. RDJ’s acting was on point in this movie and I love him for what he’s done with Tony Stark.

I also want to point out the talk between Tony and Steve when Tony returns. I found this conversation to be very vital in addressing the issues between the two and why they possibly lost in Infinity War. I’ve said this before but the obvious thing is that the Avengers probably stood a chance against Thanos if they weren’t all split up thanks to the events of Civil War. Steve said they would fight together and lose together but as Tony points out, they didn’t lose together. They lost separately and Tony was stranded from Earth in space miles away for a month starving and dying. He had foreseen what was gonna happen and tried his best to achieve protection—his armor around the world plan—but the others merely chided him for it and then fought each other because of the consequences of not wanting that particular armor. And then they lost in the end, separated and Tony is torn. He is damaged and weak and sick and tired, he was nearly murdered and he lost the kid in turn. It is a sad moment and I was very happy it wasn’t immediate apologies when Tony arrived. The others had a month to reconcile but Tony was still dealing with what he faced alone with only Nebula and the ashes of Peter in his mind. I really enjoyed that conversation and found it to be a really good prelude to how the rest of the movie would pan out. When he took off the arc reactor and shoved it at Steve and told Steve to run and hide, gave Steve the armor and told him to do something about it…powerful stuff right there.

Now about Tony’s death: I think it was really important for him to do the final snap of ending Thanos’ war. He and Thanos have been the two at odds with each other this entire time. We know it’s going to eventually end up being him against Thanos like it was in Infinity War. But when he took the stones from Thanos and said “I am Iron Man” in retaliation to Thanos claiming he was inevitable!! Thanos is always gonna come but as long as Tony is Iron man, he will be defeated. Tony is the one who can save the universe and I think it’s also super important that he uses the most dangerous weapon ever. Tony protects the world with weapons, he started off profiting from it, but grows throughout the movies to eventually be trusted to use the most powerful weapon in the universe to save it. The Avengers trust him to use it for good and he trusts them to deal with the stones afterwards. It’s beautiful, it so beautiful. He dies with two families: his biological/iron fam and his superhero family. He dies trusting them to carry on not only his legacy but the legacy of Earth, of the Avengers, of avenging the universe in full. He is Iron Man and he finally gets to rest. He gets to put down the armor and save the universe like he’s been trying for years with the Avengers’ trust backing him up. Personally, I believe this is the hero death Tony deserved. He used to be a man who was feared for the destruction he caused and he went through a deep and thorough redemption and self-realizations to then be trusted to use the most destructive weapon for the greater good.

Now on to Thor and Bruce, two characters who I have an issue with in terms of their characterization. Thor’s dealing with a lot of shit. Understandable as hell; his story is probably the most dark given he has no living family anymore. Tony got lucky and his loved ones, Peter aside, survived. Thor lost everyone. He killed Thanos, he went for the head, but still didn’t win. His depression, anxiety, and PTSD is so valid. What I hate is that he didn’t get the same treatment in Endgame Tony got in IM3. Yes, Thor’s is a lot darker of a situation but he didn’t need to be the brunt of jokes. I understand that he is over 1000 years old and in the grand scheme of things, this moment in time is a blink and a bit of a sick joke. I understand that he falls back into his old Viking ways of alcoholism and whatnot. It’s totally understandable but I will always be disappointed in how it was approached. They still could have been humor and jokes without resorting to petty insults. I am glad though that his weight gain did not suddenly disappear. The way the Russo’s went about presenting it was insulting and demeaning but I feel it’s important as well to show that his weight gain wasn’t gonna suddenly disappear now that he’s back to being the mighty Thor.

Bruce was…okay I like Professor Hulk. I think it’s important that Bruce come to terms with his Hulk nature but the point of Hulk is that he’s angry and he unleashes it with smashing and I was just. Expecting more Hulk smash and still that dichotomy even if Bruce has come to terms with being Hulk. The thing I like is that Bruce, who was always scared of his persona as Hulk killing people got to bring back billions of lives as Hulk instead of taking those lives away. Anyway, I had that small beef with Hulk but it wasn’t as much as say against Thor. Bruce’s humor was lighter and not as insulting, it was a refreshing continuation of his Ragnarok/Infinity War characterization.

Speaking of Ragnarok, let’s talk Loki. Loki is my second favorite character and let’s be real, all Loki stans were basically expecting more out of Endgame when it came to this character. I figured he would be in flashbacks but I was hoping still maybe it would be more?? I said before that perhaps Tony breaks Loki out to get the tesseract and I mean, that did kinda happen. But at least we know we have a divergent 2012 timeline and this is probably where the Loki TV show is gonna be set. I’m definitely interested in seeing what happens in that alternate universe but we won’t see that for another two years so, just a big sigh. And also I’ve seen on twitter at least people upset that Thor didn’t talk to Loki when he went back to Asgard. Loki and Thor were at odds and not friends during The Dark World. I don’t think Thor talking to Loki would have done anything important, it wouldn’t have changed anything and it certainly wouldn’t have helped him with his task of getting the Aether from Jane. While it would have been nice to see more Loki when Thor went back to 2013, I think what we did see was the most that could have happened while Thor was also dealing with seeing his mother again.

On the topic of Loki, he seems to like go about as Steve, huh? I thought it was a cute nod to the scene from TDW (I cant remember if it was deleted or not I haven’t seen that movie in years lol) when he shape shifted into Steve to taunt the Avengers. Cheeky Loki is great and so is cheeky Steve. “I could do this all day” and “Yeah, I know, I know.” The Steve vs Steve fight was also really cool. I was surprise he used the mind stone to stop himself though? And I thought it was funny when he said “hail hydra” to get by with the scepter. Now onto Steve’s whole time loop. I am disgruntled but also weirdly okay with how that all ended. I am not anti-Steve in any manner but his MCU characterization is not on my personal top list of Cap storylines. I’ve seen someone say this before and I found I kinda agreed with it. Steve’s progression is becoming more and more selfish when it comes to keeping his family safe while in parallel Tony’s progression is becoming more and more selfless when it comes to keeping his own family safe. Very different takes on how to protect family, but I think it would be wrong to ignore that part of Steve’s story. He will do any and everything to keep Bucky alive at his side, to keep Sam safe, to keep the integrity of the Avengers alive even at the cost of his personal freedom. He wants, no needs, to have his family with him. He will risk damaging relations with everyone else to keep them save. That’s admirable.

That being said, Steve going back in time to be with Peggy is a pathetic conclusion even if I can come to terms with it. In my opinion, Steve is the only Avenger righteous enough to be able to go back to the past to fulfill his own timeline and not do anything about what is coming next. He takes a huge risk in staying back in time to be with Peggy; letting Hydra infiltrate SHIELD is one thing he could not change. No matter what, Thanos is coming. He is inevitable. But Tony is Iron Man, and Tony can only be Iron Man in the first place if he gets kidnapped in Afghanistan. This only happens because of Obadiah’s jealousy and greed, which comes out of Tony becoming CEO of Stark Industries after his parent’s premature deaths. Their premature deaths only happen because Bucky became the Winter Soldier and was brainwashed to kill them. These things have to happen in order for Thanos to be defeated so Steve has to keep these things alive. This also means he has to marry Peggy after he crashed in the ice so there are two Steve’s in the universe, one who is Peggy’s husband and another who is Captain America. He gets the future he always wanted and the superhero story he was born to be a part of. The biggest pieces of bullshit about this storyline is 1) Peggy being used as nothing but someone for Steve to lust over 2) Steve coming back somehow in the end as an old guy. You could sort of explain point 2 by saying old Steve always existed so it’s not actually disrupting the timeline, things are always supposed to be this. You know how in some time travel movies the present/future happens bc someone went back into the past and their actions caused it? Maybe Steve is something like that. I know they explained that it creates a split timeline but if old Steve is always there then it’s not a split timeline it’s just the regular timeline. It still doesn’t explain why old Steve was right there with the Avengers after they sent 2023 Steve to the past. Major plot hole. Also I don’t think him leaving Bucky in 2023 is a plot hole; Bucky has to live his life post being Hydra’s Winter Soldier and without Steve’s shadow over him. It’s gonna be great to see Bucky working with a new Captain America and forming a friendship with Sam.

Side note: I am so pleased about Falcon!Cap that is what I’ve wanted for years in mcu now and it’s here! That is definitely something I am grateful for in all of this. Another thing I liked is Valkyrie becoming the Queen of Asgard and Thor exploring the galaxy with the Guardians. Also Pepper in the Rescue suit, that made me super excited! Seeing all the ladies team up was very fun.

Anyway, on to the last two of the main six Avengers: Clint and Natasha. I think I saw some people upset about Natasha’s death…she was in a very dark place mentally but her sacrifice for her family to live on is just as important as Tony’s. They both exchanged their lives to save the universe and so her death was not pointless at all. It also is a great show of how much Clint loved her, how much he risked to save her and indict her into SHIELD after he was sent to off her all those years ago. As she said in Avengers, they all have blood on their hands, some more than others. This was her way of returning the lives she took just as Tony has done the same by snapping away Thanos’ army at the cost of his life. She was the soul they needed for these three Avengers—Natasha, Bruce, and Tony—who have taken many lives with their own hands if not just obscene amounts of violence, to reverse the Snap and save the universe. Clint can be included actually but since he was Ronin when he was slaying people for revenge I put that separate from when he returned to the Avengers.

MCU Clint isn’t my fave Avenger, both because of Renner and because of his characterization. But Endgame made me like him more, especially in the first five minutes or so as he taught his daughter archery and connected with his family. That was a beautiful opening scene and it wrenched my heart to see his family get dusted away. His dark turn was kinda corny imo I mean, the whole badass punk hipster vibe was funny but I really liked seeing him and Natasha interacting and being friends again. I’m glad he had a sword because while bow and arrow comes in handy, the battle requires close combat and he definitely was gonna get killed if he didn’t have something more than arrows.

Also the quantum realm suits grew on me…they are still ugly but it’s a tolerable ugly now.

AH! important point: Nebula’s storyline! I really liked how she had to literally kill her past self in order to keep herself and her sister alive. That side plot of Nebula battling herself was great and allowed for nice growth of her character and how her past self tried to sabotage her future.

Final point is that I enjoyed the movie for what it is: a beautiful close to the story of the Infinity Saga. It is meant to be a homage to the fans who have seen all the movies, who have followed the MCU for as long as they could. I don’t think this is meant to be for casual viewers, not that you can’t watch casually, but you definitely have to watch knowing what happened before. They don’t introduce Captain Marvel or Antman’s Quantum realm stuff much. It’s probably confusing if you haven’t seen Captain Marvel or the Antman movies. You’re expected to know what came before and I mean, it makes sense. Money making franchise or not, there’s a lot going on in this movie and taking the time to introduce new things over and over is not worth it.

tl;dr: Endgame is the story about end of the two who started the MCU, Tony Stark and Steve Rogers. I think you could even say that Steve stuck by Tony’s side until the end of the line. The two leaders of the Avengers, side by side and trusting each other again to get the job done. That is the Endgame because part of the journey is the end and doing whatever it takes to get there. My final thought (before rewatch because lbr, I will most likely watch again) is that I am very grateful for the chance to love Tony Stark as I have, to love him 3000 and 3000 times more and more. I love you, Tony Stark. You can rest now, my love. The universe is indeed safe in your hands~

this is how they ended up near earth, as the argenti had attempted to invade them and the royal family were having none of that, and so they spelled the planet to wherever the magic would take them, and thus they ended up close to earth. this was just over a year before the argenti stumbled upon earth themselves

the lucaurans are peaceful and diplomatic people, and so they sent their daughter portia down as a mediator in negotiations

they didn’t really have to try hard as earth as we know it has some strange and magical people, and so it wasn’t hard for her to be accepted, and portia was able to strike a deal where lucaura would protect earth in the case of danger and vice versa

portia is a very generous and kind individual, but can also be optimistically stubborn. if she thinks something can be fixed by her hand, she’ll make sure she does just that as soon as possible, and she can have a one track mind at times

she actually really likes it on earth and spends a lot of her time there. she initially lived near the space port downtown, but that became an infected zone pretty quickly, and so she lives in a skyscraper right by it

her parents made the decision to not tell the earthlings about their history with the argenti, a decision portia didn’t really agree with, but she trusts her judgement and instead focuses on ensuring the safety of the earthlings and the lucaurans

ever since she was young, she’s focused a lot on her magic, and so she has very strong powers that she gathers from the stars. they’re stronger at night for obvious reasons

her magic can be pretty op in terms of what she CAN do but there are definitely things that are generally forbidden in lucauran law, such as resurrection, murder, summoning the dead in any capacity, basically anything that is considered disrespectful is a big ‘no-no’

they don’t count killing argenti monsters as murder tho so go wild i guess

while he didn’t show it, it actually really affected him bc at least some of the other kids had a vague idea of where they’d come from, but not him apparently, he was a mystery

he refused to reveal how he felt to anyone tho bc he’d already made a name for himself as being the big brother to everyone in the orphanage, the one all the kids could rely on to be there with advice or a bedtime story, and he didn’t want to show weakness in front of them

while he’s a relatively calm person he goes into angry protective mode when the orphanage or the residents of it are threatened like he’s not playing he has a sword and he wILL use it

the day the argenti came, he’d had a really bad feeling, especially when the clouds starting coming in, and so he’d told the other kids to stay inside. sure enough, then came the argenti

he wasn’t able to save all of the kids tho as one of them went missing and he has no idea where they are, but he once again refuses to show his worry

he’s the type of guy who’s really soft around those he considers his family but can seem kinda distant to strangers, but that’s because he can be a bit distrustful at first

her parents were both agents who met while working there and badabing badaboom paige is conceived

paige’s father didn’t agree with the experiments the agency was doing in the science department, the ones where they were attempting to combine human dna with animal dna to make shapeshifting hybrids, and so he called them out on their bullshit and booked it once he was labelled as a traitor

what happened to him afterwards is officially unknown by most, but many speculate that he was assassinated

as a big ‘fuck you’ to the guy who tried to ruin their precious experiments, the agency decided that they would make test subjects out of paige’s mother and paige herself after she was born

the experiment on her mother, the one that was conducted barely a day after paige was born, was almost a success, but there were several factors that caused the project to fail, notably the fact that her mother was still recovering from giving birth and that the animal dna wasn’t large enough in quantity to overpower her genetics. she died on the operating table

paige ended up being part of an experiment along with a bunch of other infants, and it’s only then that the experiment was a success and the scientists realised that they would need to inject the dna and ensure its spread during the first few years of life, around a few weeks to five years old, though ideally around the three year mark

and thus, paige the platypus was created

she’s a stellar agent and is considered one of the best in the field, though this often means her workload is tough

most of her jobs prior to the invasion kept her close to the agency downtown, and while she’s still in the downtown area now, she has to stretch herself pretty thin sometimes

since she has platypus dna she can turn into a platypus, though the only ability she retains in her human form is electroreception, which basically means she can sense shit underwater

she’s sorta known as a big sister among the other animal agents bc of her personality, she’s very much the mum friend

Okay well first of all was born in Johto but for a reason she was too young to remember (aka it’s 2 AM and I can’t think of anything atm) she was moved to Sinnoh and now lives with her grandparents in Solaceon Town

Her grandparents run the daycare there so she pretty much grew up learning how to take care of and breed Pokemon

Since they lived so close to Hearthome, Phoenix’s grandparents would take her there and they would all go see the Contests there

and like from then on Phoenix fell IN LOVE with performing and decided then and there that she wanted to be a coordinator

she would learn how to make poffins and feed them to the pokemon in the daycare it’s cute 

She was somewhere between 10-12 when her grandparents let her try to take care of her very first egg!!!

little did anybody know that it would hatch into a fucking MANAPHY - which Phoenix named Opal because of the red gem on her chest (which she would later learn is not an opal lol)

Phoenix and Opal bonded immediately, and Phoenix would take Opal pretty much everywhere she could (but her grandparents set boundaries because they knew if someone important found out they would try to take Opal away)

Sometimes, Phoenix would hide Opal in her bag and take her to see Pokemon contests, and Opal was just as fascinated by them as Phoenix was when she saw her first contest

Original Questions

1. Does your character have siblings or family members in their age group? Which one are they closest with?

Tomoka has 4 sisters! One older and three younger, to be specific. If you’ve looked through her photo album you probably know they all kinda look the same, though they do grown into some differences when they get older. Tomo is the only one who never grows past 5′2″ eventually. It’s sad. She’s closest with her older sister, Makoto, a bartender. Makoto fought constantly with their parents, and after a long time struggling with her time as the family heir, she broke off ties and moved out on her own. As the two oldest, Tomo and Mako have seen each other through a lot of their hardships, and Tomo sympathized with Mako while Mako served as Tomo’s encouragement. They spend more time with each other these days than with any of their other family members. Kasumi is the next youngest sister, the middle child! She’s the current family heir, as Tomo dumped that responsibility onto her after she left the family as well. While the two aren’t at odds with one another, there is some minor tension between the two since they’re less close and don’t share a mutual understanding on... well pretty much anything. Next down the line is Misaki. She’s very close with Kasumi, the two call each other Zuzu and Kiki. Misaki is very high-spirited, and Kasumi finds herself often in the position of her protector.

The youngest is Kimiko! She’s mysterious and spooky... not exactly close with any of the sisters, but quite cool and collected for her age, and arguably close with their father. I hope u enjoyed that text wall for question #1.

2. What is/was your character’s relationship with their mother like?

??? Hamazoe (whoops!). Tomo doesn’t know either of her parents very well, as she’s lived with her grandparents for most of her childhood and currently lives alone. She holds some resentment toward them for being Garbage, but not nearly as much as Mako, who has a very personal feud. Although she doesn’t know that much about what her mother does, Tomo is aware that she used to be an olympic gold medalist, and feels somewhat sorry for her knowing she gave up her dream life to marry into the Hamazoe family and have 5 hecking kids. 

3. What is/was your character’s relationship with their father like?

Where Tomo has a bit of sympathy for her mother, she has absolutely none for her father. Again, it’s not direct animosity, but she holds a strong “Tch, Whatever” attitude towards the two for skipping out on raising their own children. ??? Hamazoe (whoops x2!) is from a long line of ambitious businessmen, and pushes the children (mostly through his parents, who actually take care of them) to be ambitious and follow extremely specific goals. He’s not all bad, but he has a severe lack of understanding as to how to raise and deal with kids.  Both parents are actually fairly coddling toward Tomo, as she didn’t exactly have a formal breakoff like Mako, and they’re hesitant to burn bridges with another daughter (do they feel guilty, or do they not want bad press? who knows...). Ever since Tomo moved out, they’ve been sending her checks to help support herself, which she ‘begrudgingly’ accepts. Neither of them showed up to her Queen match! She’s a little upset over that. Just a bit.

4. Has your character ever witnessed something that fundamentally changed them? If so, does anyone else know?

Not exactly? Mako having her falling out with the fam did trigger what eventually made Tomo Grow A Pair, so to say. Before then she was very domestic and abiding. Then she realized. Oh wait fuck this I don’t have to listen to other people. Eventually learned to stand up to her Grandmother and her verbal abuse etc. Ta da! Her fam is probably all aware of this.

As far as in-game? Well... the whole dying thing definitely had an impact on her! In what way? Hey... I won’t spoil ; } (jk not much changed but she’s a bit shook and her ridiculous self-confidence is currently butting heads with delightful depression)        

5. On an average day, what can be found in your character’s pockets?

Candy, Duh. Her outfits almost never have pockets, but she will make sure to carry this one thing no matter what. Similar to how she keeps thing in her sleeves, she tends to squirrel away whatever she needs in her socks, waistband, bra, you name it. Pre-doubt she always carries at least a little money on her at all times.

6. Does your character have recurring themes in their dreams?

Cats! Also, I like to think she has dreams about idols and movies-- the kind of things she doesn’t like to talk about, but secretly loves. Historical dramas, tea in a garden, herself on a stage singing. How fun!

7. Does your character have recurring themes in their nightmares?

Her recurring nightmare is facing off with the Meijin! He’s seriously scary! It always ends either just before she’s about to lose or right after a climactic monologue. The monologue is extra scary. Words.

8. Has your character ever fired a gun? If so, what was their first target?

Nope! And she’s not looking to try it out. Toucan Dan says No Guns No Funs.

9. Is your character’s current socioeconomic status different than it was when they were growing up?

Heck yea! She was the heir to a rich family and then ditched it to live on her own as a teen. Admittedly, she gets money from her parents still to pay rent, but she’s nowhere near livin’ on the ritz anymore. She hangs onto some nice things, like her favorite kimonos, and buys as expensive food as she’s able, but otherwise doesn’t do amazingly for herself.

10. Does your character feel more comfortable with more clothing, or with less clothing?

More, I suppose? Either is fine, but less definitely has casual connotations to it. Tomo’s certainly not shy about showing skin. Being in a kimono and hakama definitely sets her in ‘game mode’, and gives her a +10 boost to confidence (hence why she feels best wearing it to all trials, as well as when she practices in order to get ‘serious’).

11. In what situation was your character the most afraid they’ve ever been?

Off the top of my head I’d have to say when she faced the meijin the day after her queen match. He asked her to a play a game for ‘fun’ knowing the two can’t face each other for any official ranking purposes, and his playing style absolutely pulled the floor out from under her. He’s a master of manipulation, smart as she’s ever met, and knows exactly how to push at people to get them out of their element- which is a lot to say for Tomo considering her play syle is almost the exact opposite, yet he still broke through. She still shudders thinking about him to this day.

12. In what situation was your character the most calm they’ve ever been?

Generally speaking Tomo is calm nearly all the time! She was amazingly serene (in her own way) during her final match against the former queen, however. Despite the way she jokes around and how brash she can be, Tomo is amazing at keeping herself genuinely collected on the inside. To truly rile her is a feat, though she loves to play around and pretend to get upset.

13. Is your character bothered by the sight of blood? If so, in what way?

Not really! She’s not a fan of blood, for sure, but it doesn’t shake her, nor is it a phobia or squick to any extent. It’s gross, but as previously mentioned, she doesn’t let that kind of stuff get to her. Whatever the circumstance is, she’ll take it objectively as it comes.

14. Does your character remember names or faces easier?

Naaames. Not that she’s too bad at remembering people in general, but she’s used to verbal association. It probably helps that she likes to call people by their first names and nicknames! Or is that what makes it easier? Hmm...

15. Is your character preoccupied with money or material possession? Why or why not?

It’s not her main focus in life by any means, though she has ‘’’’Refined Tastes’’’’’ so money is obviously important to, um, purchase those. She’s more materialistic than money-grubbing for certain. She likes to Have things. Though she’s also pretty good at sharing! Kind of. Er.

16. Which does your character idealize most: happiness or success?

Ooh... Success is very, very important to Tomoka... A big struggle for her is what success means and when she’s attained it. It’s a driving force behind the whole reason she left home, feeling like she needed to make something of herself, all on her own. 

In this way... I guess success and happiness can kind of complicate one another for her sometimes? Happiness is also important, as is probably obvious just from her fun-loving YOLO attitude. She’s finding a balance. Not very well, but, y’know.

17. What was your character’s favorite toy as a child?

When she was a kid they had all kinds of stuff to play with (nothing electronic, though), but she got the most enjoyment out of a rubber ball just by throwing it around and chasing after it. She got in trouble at one point with her little sisters for breaking a lantern in the garden while roughhousing, and their grandparents were like... hey.... time to cool it. Whoops.

18. Is your character more likely to admire wisdom, or ambition in others?

Ambition for sure. The first thing Tomo looks for in other people is whether they stick up for themselves and whether they act on their beliefs. She’s pretty generous as to how far this extends, but generally you can assume she’s not about weak-willed folks. Wisdom is something she respects, but doesn’t find necessary. She won’t admit it, but she’s kind of envious (and maybe fearful) of people who are smart, especially if they’re on the clever side of things.

19. What is your character’s biggest relationship flaw? Has this flaw destroyed relationships for them before?

Would u trust this teen in any way to do anything right in a relationship. For one thing, she’s very self-interested, so it’s easy for her to not take into account her partner’s needs. She’s also very fickle, and can get distracted easily by things outside of relationships, especially since she’s not super romantically-inclined. In this universe.... well, she hasn’t had a proper relationship yet, so who’s to say what else could happen given the way she’s developing!

20. In what ways does your character compare themselves to others? Do they do this for the sake of self-validation, or self-criticism?

Hmmm... well, I think Tomo likes to pick out others’ flaws to help inflate her ego, but she definitely also has a tiny chamber deep, deep in the pit of her where she files everything she sees in others she wishes she could be like, and locks it away for 300 years under 50 layers of malibu and taiyaki. One might not suspect it, but she’s very self-flagellating behind the control she’s trained into herself.

21. If something tragic or negative happens to your character, do they believe they may have caused or deserved it, or are they quick to blame others?

Her first response is to blame others if she can, but she likes to be objective when possible. If the situation is right, she’ll own up to making a mistake. This is less likely if she somehow manages to get frustrated or has to admit it to someone she seriously dislikes, though.

22. What does your character like in other people?

Guts! Balls! Chutzpah! She just likes people who are honest and upfront about what they’re doing. People who take life in simple stokes, and don’t try to get too crafty. Vanillas. People with Honor. That being says, there isn’t too much she dislikes in others outside of key negative traits, and it takes a lot make her dislike someone, as she’s very accepting of people as long as they’re doing what they want to do. That’s just Friends tho ! ;Y

23. What does your character dislike in other people?

Dependency. Well, she’s okay with follower-types as long as they follow along with the kind of things she likes (Thanks). She’s also not fond of things like people who complain about X but do nothing to make X change. Obviously she’s also not keen on otaku types. Nerds are her Bane.

24. How quick is your character to trust someone else?

It can take some time, but again, she’s not one to find much to object to in others. As long as someone proves they’re being ‘real’ whatever that means to them, she finds that as admirable proof of Heart. Morality isn’t especially Tomo’s thing, so she can get very case-by-case, but otherwise she plays it loose. She likes to believe in unspoken understands, as amazingly faulty as that is.

25. How quick is your character to suspect someone else? Does this change if they are close with that person?

Even if she’s close with someone, she won’t hide if she’s suspicious of them (unless that somehow goes behind gal code! yikes!). Objectivist etc etc she just plays things how they come. She won’t hold suspicion close to her heart. If it turns out to be true, then it’s usually as simple as taking a step back to square one.

26. How does your character behave around children?

Well! Tomo’s not the best with kids for sure, but she doesn’t mind them. Having 3 baby sisters separated by a decent age gap does that to a gal. Being equipped with candy usually helps. Don’t trust your kids with her, though-- if she has to entertain them, she might get them up to some serious Monkey Business. A bad influence.

27. How does your character normally deal with confrontation?

She takes it HEAD-ON. Go all out or go home. She’ll only back down from a fight if there’s a reeeeallly good reason. Simple as that. She’s very good at keeping her cool, however, despite being so trigger-happy so to speak.

28. How quick or slow is your character to resort to physical violence in a confrontation?

If someone is ready to have a beatdown she’s fuckin there for it. Generally speaking, though she’s respectful of not fighting with someone if they aren’t up for it. She’ll attack people of her own volition if she wants, but doesn’t like to resort to this too much, because it lends itself to poor emotional control. She’s always up for friendly fisticuffs, however! Or rival fisticuffs. Or enemy fisticuffs. She just likes sparring with people, for whatever weird obsession she has.

29. What did your character dream of being or doing as a child? Did that dream come true?

Rotten food is a biggie. Smells really get to her, since it’s not something she’s trained to block out, and man that stuff gets a visceral reaction out of you. Non-physical objects of disgust, though? Mmm... stuff mentioned in early questions... bad attitudes (the irony), but outside of little stuff, not much???

Challenging someone to Karuta. Haha. She also feels very comfortable at social events, especially clubs. She loves her sister’s bar (even tho ur fucking 16 kid!!!!!! have a juicy juice!!!! sit down!!).

Doing anything that requires tactical thinking... having to be lead by someone else... but also generally working in a team is not her favorite. Surprisingly, even though she’s super social and outgoing, she hates being in teams. School is also Yuck Brain Cooties.

Unless someone’s really managed to dig at her core insecurities, she handles it quite well. She’s all about becoming a better her, but she recognizes that she lacks talent in most walks of life, and has a hard time improving at anything even when she gives a serious effort.

At this stage in her life I think Tomo is prone to falling back on comfortable methods. If she’s in a pretty calm scenario, especially with others she likes, she’s willing to try out different stuff, but if she’s alone or gets frustrated, she can get caught in a loop that keeps going until she breaks.

Friendllly~~ Suuuuuper casual, my guys! She’s quick to assume people are friends with her if she finds them alright, so she warms up to them in a buddy-buddy way quickly whether they like it or not. She teases often and plays around, too!

Ignore Ignore Ignore Block Report Mute. She avoids bad vibes at all costs first and foremost. Otherwise, she can’t help but get condescending when facing them, and tries to make a wall out of her opinions. Not today, fiend.

Ooof. These are kinda closely related for her? Honor takes the lead by a hair, but she’s also about being the number one, the big boss, a leader, so if that falls then she’s taken a pretty big blow to her honor. Staying true to oneself regardless of circumstances is the most important, though.

Shuffle tf out my dude. If she can’t, or it’s a volatile threat, then Smash. And uh. Well, we know how that worked out.

Nop... her cats might nip at her sometimes when she gets too grabby, but she doesn’t really care.

She can get a little pushy... she doesn’t mean to come off as rude, but... let’s say she expects a lot from them? If she’s at a ramen stand and it’s taking a while to get it ready she won’t be shy about whining how hungry she is out loud. Tomo’s a little stuck in the rich kid/queenly ‘they’re a servant’ headset.

Earn! You gotta Werq It. Now, that’s not to say she isn’t hypocritical at times and feels she deserves things despite being a lazy ol bag o bones, but...

Oh gosh... uh... I don’t think so? She’s been very closed into her family most of her life, and otherwise very self-sufficient (or has tried to be self-sufficient). She wouldn’t look to anyone outside of her family let alone within it to be a parental figure.

Same as the last question pretty much. Outside of any remaining ties to her family, she hates being dependent on other people or people being completely dependent on her, so she tries not to do this, or at the very least make major figures out of them in her life.

Easy if it’s friends! Easy if she’s drunk. Otherwise she’s a stubborn mule who thrives on rival-like relationships, so admitting it so easily is not on her agenda. Also, not exactly skilled at romantic affection, this tot.

Tomo is very superstitious! She jokes about it, but she’s also very genuinely worried about ghosts and spirits! She hopes she can have a peaceful afterlife, or be able to haunt someone into the ground if they do her wrong in death. While she’s usually scared of running out of time to be alive, she goes back and forth on whether she’s scared of the afterlife or feels optimistic about it. Very importantly, also, she doesn’t want to be forgotten!
