Hello! I am the anon who sent the ask about the timing of Lucy and Tim's marriage and the letter, no worries about deleting the ask accidentally - thank you very much for your reply :) I only watched a little of My Policeman and didn't finish it but I would love to read your comparison of that with FT, I'm sure your analysis will be fantastic. I also really enjoyed the complexity and nuance in Lucy and Tim's interactions in episode 6, especially about the letter. My reading of that scene is that Lucy is feeling both defiant and protective of her marriage and children, but also a little sorry. And it's a difficult moment for Tim because he didn't expect a response from Hawk, nor did anything he wrote in the letter ask for a response, but he must have hoped for something (a parallel to Mary saying in 1986 that Tim said he didn't want to see Hawk because he expects him not to come and did not want to hope), and to find out that Hawk never even read or know about the letter must be such a crushing blow, especially right on the heels of Tim's choice to turn himself in for his own sake, but also for Hawk and his family (as well as his political beliefs). The differences in Lucy and Tim's interactions in 1968 and 1986 during the phone call are so interesting to me, and I think the evolution of their dynamic/relationship to each other over the years will be a thought-provoking point of discussion once we have all the pieces of the story for the show.

absolutely agree with so much of what you said! i love the dynamic between lucy and tim. not only is lucy (rightfully) protecting her family, but you can tell tim fully understands this as well (that's why he lies to her in '68 when asking to use her telephone).

lucy read the letter, she knows full well that the love he has for hawk isn't something perverse or purely sexual. they shared something together that she will never know or understand on any level -- he has something she could only dream of having from hawk. they both have something the other wants. lucy has hawk's full attention and has a family with him, tim has his romantic devotion and mutual affection. they want what the other has, but the middle ground is that they are attached to hawk in a way that they can't bear sometimes.

i'll be so fr, i was screaming and crying while watching that scene and i did notice the difference in v.o. and what was actually written in the letter but i just thought it was a mistake they made in post 😅 if it was deliberate, i wonder what that means! since it was in lucy's head, did she intentionally skip over the "to take your place" because it was a painful truth? that makes this a little more interesting, ha!

THIS MAN IS AN ORPHAN. THIS MAN IS A BASTARD. BY NATURE YES- FUNNY HAHA- BUT AS A FACT, TOO: HE IS A BASTARD. HE HAS NO PARENTS. And by assumption, maybe his mother/father left him for someone to find.

Moving on because I have many thoughts not enough attention span to write them all down- my original point was actually gonna be more about the fact that he left this black hole, escaped death alive, the cold grabbed for him and he ran away to be so warm and so alive, lighting matches and leading riots.

And he swept away a soldier from the overseas, threw her life for a loop- earnt himself a sister, a best-friend, a co-captain, descendant of the sun, godliness flowing through her veins, golden light spilling from her eye, wings of a bird, a show of her freedom, of her vow to fight for what's right- not that he knew any of that when he first met her, he took her in because he knew together they could become something more.

And he held his hand out to an exiled hero from the undersea, another ex-soldier, lost on the path his destiny always promised was straight- Chip earnt himself the best kiss of his life, a best-friend, a co-captain, child of the moon goddess, wielding destiny's blade, trained to be the saviour of his people, cast out for doing what he knew was right, the chosen one, learning to live, holding a new vow, to protect, save those in need- and now Gillion's favourite colour is brown and Chip can speak to the sword only linked to the triton.

They're the sun and the moon, and the sky and the sea. And chip is the eclipse as they're brought together. Chip is the earth warmed by the rising sun and coloured by the water as he soaks them both in.

Our boy, Desmond, gets thrown back in time as usual, same old same old, right? Exept, this time he doesn't end up in the Big Three™'s time-line. He ends up in Al-Mualim's time. *insert mind-blown emoji here cuz i can't find it rn*

And ik that i'm not a certified AC Expert like u and many others, and i haven't really finished any of the AC games yet (i've only seen bits of AC III and have only started AC 2, I also haven't finished AC 1)

But I do know that he wasn't really that creepy and evil in his youth/ b4 he became The Old Man of the Moutain, so i was thinking maybe Desmond ends up in that era of Al Mualim or is it Rashid al-Din Sinan? I know that he's based on a real historical figure but i'm not so sure if he's called that in-game?

And knowing Desmond, he'd probably get the urge to kill Rashid (i hope i'm using the name correctly) the time he figures shit out and connect that dots. But he would end up not doing that, cuz u know, it might fuck up the time-line and Altaïr might end up not being born, creating a domino-effect.

I want Desmond to meet Rashid before he starts to becom the Al Mualim we know today, so that Desmond can see how he was b4 the evants of AC 1.

Maybe Rashid's an arrogant ass, or a nerdy loser, or a popular assassin- who knows! The possibilites are endless!! (or maybe he's an obsessive bastard who gets obsessed with Desmond cuz he's just full of mysteries and wonders :Dc )

And blah blah blah, plot here, plot there, Isu-bullshit this, time shenanigans that, and BOOM they meet.

As far as I know, he was only called Al Mualim because of legal reasons but Rashid ad-Din Sinan was the leader of the Assassins in Masyaf during 1191 so it’s safe to assume Al Mualim is AC’s version of Rashid (historically he died in 1193, not 1191.

Okay. We can make this work.

We put Desmond at around the same time he’s the recruit and we make it hard for him to realize he’s Al Mualim until it’s too late by doing one simple thing:

Desmond doesn’t know Al Mualim’s real name.

He always knew it as Al Mualim. As far as he knew, Al Mualim was his actual name.

Then he remembered that Al Mualim can mean mentor and bangs his head on the nearest flat surface.

His mission has been clear from the start.

Become an Assassin, take out Al Mualim before he does shit, find Umar and adopt him then play matchmaker so Altaïr would be born.

And no.

Desmond wasn’t going to think about the whole “can you truly be sure that the person who will be born will be Altaïr if you change the circumstances of his conception?”

Yeah.

His head hurts just thinking about it so he won’t.

For now, he’ll focus on his training while keeping a look out for anyone who gives of Al Mualim vibes.

The problem is…

Rashid is one of the recruits in the same batch as Desmond and he becomes Desmond’s closest friend.

And there was no way Desmond would ever be friends with a future power hungry asshole like Al Mualim.

The way their relationship becomes romantic really depends on the kind of personality young Rashid would have.

A nerdy loser who starts making a name for himself because of his intelligence and tactical mind would start off as the kid Desmond sorta looks after. When he starts to show that his strength lies in making plans and quick judgments, he becomes the man whispering on Desmond’s ear. Providing plans and suggestions while giving Desmond a heads up on the less savory words people say about him. Desmond would never think this Rashid is Al Mualim because he’s nice and truly do want to help Desmond. This is also how Rashid would show his love for Desmond and, really, Desmond would think they’re bros and when he realizes that Rashid actually loves him, he’d think “oh, I am Ezio’s descendant”

An arrogant ass Rashid would butt heads with Desmond but Desmond would find himself fond of the man because he reminds him of AC1 Altaïr. This is the Rashid who would definitely be counted as a tsundere and their relationship would start when Rashid just flatout tells Desmond that he wants to do unspeakable things to him while they’re arguing. Desmond is offended because “tugging on my pigtails doesn’t work in real life, dumbass!” and Rashid is just “???” because what the fuck are pigtails??? Lots of awkwardness until Desmond realize that butting heads with Rashid is really how they flirt.

Now. Popular Assassin Rashid is more on the side of polite but is absolutely Desmond’s rival. Whatever it is, the two of them are always competing. Unlike the arrogant ass version, this Rashid is always nice to Desmond. The whole “no hard feelings” and pure competitiveness are what drives their relationship. This is the one where the two of them spar privately one time and things happen. They would try to distant themselves from one another for a bit until they finally talk it out. Rashid honestly didn’t think he loved Desmond until the whole ‘after-sparring’ thing.

Whichever you pick as Rashid’s background, he will become obsessed with Desmond but it’s more on the side of “I will do everything to make Desmond happy” which is good for Desmond but not really good for anyone against him.

Desmond is the one who adopts Umar in this one and Umar imprints on him like a baby duckling to a mama duckling. Everyone actually assumed Umar is his bastard son. Desmond ignores it even though he’s only like… a decade and a half older than Umar.

Rashid definitely treats him like Desmond’s son. He’s Umar’s favorite of all of Desmond’s friends.

And really, Desmond should have seen that as a hint of Rashid’s ‘future’.

He’s been looking for Al Mualim this entire time and he has his suspects (Rashid, however, is not on the list) but honestly?

He’s just waiting for the person who would be picked as the one to lead the expansion to Masyaf since that would be Al Mualim.

Desmond has, unfortunately, fucked up the timeline so badly that the person chosen to lead the expansion?

It was Desmond.

How do you think it’s most possible way of shuggy getting together rn? How could cross guild react to that info? I think shanks would lost mihawks respect so fast

hm... the thing is, i think buggy is still pretty angry with shanks. and shanks… well, he's acting less passively than he used to, but that seems to be in service of a long established goal; idk if that change in behavior extends to interpersonal stuff. it's hard to picture either of them taking the necessary first step to even see each other again, let alone get together.

so let's have chance take that first step for them.

the easiest way to make it happen is through their common goal: the one piece. there are only so many different paths to take to get there, and at some point all of them will intersect. whether it's finding that burn-scarred man, or the second-to-last island, or on laugh tale itself, at some point the paths merge, and if the timing works out, they can reunite.

now, that reunion probably starts messy—especially if buggy’s been stewing over why shanks is going after the one piece now, when he refused all those years ago—but i think, regardless of the content of the conversation, seeing buggy again sparks an idea in shanks. after all this time apart, to run into each other twice in as many years, both times connected to their captain’s legacy? (his son, and then his treasure?) it almost feels fated. like captain roger is pushing them together…

and so, on something like a whim, shanks’ plans change, just a little. pursuing the one piece and buggy simultaneously could be tricky, if they weren’t all heading the same direction. but since they are, it’s trivial to arrange to run into him again, to have gifts on hand, compliments prepared, an afternoon to kill.

buggy takes a while to pick up on what’s happening. at first he thinks shanks is trying to distract him, to trick him into losing sight of his goal… then, as the old longing wells up inside him like high tide, as he realizes how much he wants it to be real, he thinks shanks knows, and he’s being mocked.

i don’t know what it is that makes him see shanks is being sincere. it would be very funny if mihawk or crocodile was the one to make him face facts, but i can’t quite figure out why or how it would happen that way.

suffice to say, he realizes, has a little freakout, and the next time shanks just so happens to be at the same port as buggy they have it out. there’s shouting, buggy’s body falls apart in a rage, more shouting, a very frustrated love confession, kissing, more shouting, more kissing. very messy, but ultimately a happy resolution.

and this is either a completely private conversation or happening in front of both of their crews and one of big news morgans’ reporter-photographers. i’m also 50-50 on whether they come out of the conversation as allies in the one piece hunt or more competitive about it than ever.

either way, mihawk and crocodile have been a reluctant, unwilling captive audience to buggy’s side of things, so the get-together does not take them by surprise. i think crocodile is pretty fed up with all of it—he doesn’t give a shit about the one piece or shanks, why is so much of his time being occupied by one or both of them—and mihawk is just… drinking more. he lost most of his respect for shanks a while ago, when he first connected the dots between the old friend shanks used to reminisce about when he got too drunk after a duel and buggy. this is just… new lows being discovered, lol.

physical character descriptions — generally speaking, we all know what the characters look like. you don't need to overexplain it or mention it too many times. you don't need a lengthy paragraph just describing the character, because we already know what they look like! however, every now and then, it's good to describe them in reference to something that might be associated with them. e.g., in my most recent oc blog post, i have pure vanilla describe chantilly's eyes as the color of a bluebird's feathers because it's an animal associated with both him and them, thus emphasizing a sort of connection between them and showcasing partially how pv views his student—that is, he sees them to be as cute and sweet as a bluebird 🥺 this is probably one of my favorite things to do when describing a character's appearance. another example could be to describe a character's hair as being the color of flames, or their freckles as constellations dotted across their skin. remember, everything is a tool that can be used to showcase relationships and bonds and symbolism in general. everything. of course, don't be afraid to just name a color every now and then too! it's all about balance. tldr, utilizing symbolism when depicting a character's appearance helps to emphasize a trait that they have or a way that the other character views them, BUT you know... you can also just say that their eyes are blue. that's fine. balance is key LMAO

setting a mood — does the tone feel wrong? does something feel flat or just... not dynamic enough? try describing the weather or time of day. i heard this tip once and it has SAVED MY LIFE so many times. sometimes we focus so much on getting the main ideas of story we want to tell across properly that we forget to build around the story as well. the weather is important. personify the weather. give the sun an angry, judgemental glare if your character cries during the day. let the character receive a gentle, soothing kiss from the moon when they shed their tears at night. this is also a great opportunity for symbolism that relates to your character(s). as i said, everything is a tool for symbolism HAHAH

my style of timeskips — perhaps the most important thing to remember about my timeskips is that i make them make sense. when i skip ahead to a new scene, that scene is either foreshadowed in the one before it or i carefully explain how we got to that scene. you don't need to put how far ahead the timeskip is under your divider; simply throw in a mention of how long it's been in the scene itself. i do not draw an excessive amount of attention to the timeskip. i simply do it, if that makes sense, and i focus on maintaining the flow between scenes.

CotL Shamura Narinder?? Thoughts

(JUST FINISHED TYPING IT UP AND IT ENDED UP BEING ABOUT NARINDER, SHAMURA ONE WILL COME LATER-) Hi, I'm reading through all the lore dialogue in the game and I'm talking about things I find cool! Quotes from the game will be in bold bc we want speculation not misinformation. Mostly about Shamura rn bc IM CRAZY IRVIUERHUVER IM CRAAZY YOU DONT EVEN KNOW (So that was a fucking lie-)

Fun fact, I think that Narinder got his crown when he died as a mortal? I might be 'what the sneef im snorfing here' about it but. First Silk Cradle encounter with Shamura, you get the Narinder name reveal speech and it starts as such:

"He waits by the rocks of the darkened sea, at the foot of the long, sudden drop. Within the maw of pointed-teeth beasts, the stutter of the heart, then stopped… He was the fifth. The fifth Bishop of the Old Faith. Our brother, The One Who Waits. Back then he was known by the name Narinder."

So, like, the Bishops used to be people, right? They were mortal before they were gods and at some point they "found" their crowns (though it is most definitely arguable that their crowns found them instead). Looking back into it, it's entirely likely that Shamura is just speaking in metaphors and talking about many different types of deaths, especially considering that at the fourth Silk Cradle encounter, Shamura uses the following:

"He waits at the point of the sharpened blade, the fate that cannot be outrun. He waits in the eye of the raging storm, at the end of the long day done."

BUT both Leshy and Shamura describe finding their crowns (which I personally think are both loosely tied to their domains since Chaos Leshy found his in the got-dang mud and Shamura used cunning to catch theirs in a web) and it makes sense to me that Narinder would find HIS crown while interacting, potentially while crossing OVER into what would become his domain of death.

And while the second quote chunk isn't spoken while directly talking about Narinder, rather about "The One Who Waits", the first IS and, tbh, I find it a logical enough chain of events to result in Narinder's "first" death. A cat who fell off an ocean-side cliff but didn't die from his injuries, but couldn't make it back up and was eaten by the creatures nearby. Or maybe, one who jumped into the water trying to escape something ELSE just to be hurt from the rocks and killed by something in the sea.

IDK I think I'm probably reading too deeply into it but I also think that's part of the fun, digging around to find dots may or may not connect and seeing what can be made of it! At the end of the day, it's at least a really interesting headcanon that I'm gonna keep for when I write about the characters I like!

OH NY GOD. I FORGOT I NEVER ANSWERED THIS IM SO SORRY. in my defense i got sick and my brain has been goop since like. sunday. not even going to put this one under a cut everyone gets to see my muse ramblings (muse musings. ha)

ANYWAY. SO. FIRST OFF. nobody knows who he is !!!! to the general public, muse and auxiliary are two different people, and like... there's not really anything there to tie them together. aux's costume was so like bulky full coverage that his identity was Very much hidden, and muse like.... doesn't hide his face at all, but at the same time he's not Ashe because ashe doesn't dress like that or do his hair or makeup like that so. even though his face is on full display I don't think anyone other than his family/friends would make that immediate connection either

obviously like... the prt knows what happened, because of course the wards needed to tell them. publicity-wise, as far as the public is concerned, auxiliary was killed. aux is dead. you remember that one interlude from Vista's pov where she had to look at the greyed out memorial images of the wards who were killed in the leviathan battle? yeah imagine one of those for aux. as far as anyone else knows he died in the fight with overlord (lmao. not like anyone could distinguish identifiable corpses from that mess anyway)

we have played with the idea a few times about a few different topics that there's a subsection of conspiracy theorists on parahumans online that actually connect the dots and get everything right (aux and muse being the same person, Tide and magma being made from the endbringers, etc etc stuff like that that isn't supposed to be public knowledge) but it's extremely funny if they're just a weird fringe group of freaks so nobody ever takes them seriously

the idea that after ashe gets back from being mused and has to go on TV about it makes me so fucking SICK btw that's such a horrid scenario oh my god. I made such a face at that. torture for him!

anyway what actually happens after he gets back from being mused is like.... nothing? really? Trickster takes Mal in exchange for ashe and then they just kind of disappear. and they're left in this horrible paranoid calm period. adn because theyre also gone i think people just assume that either muse went with them or also got killed in that final battle. unsure which option is worse, ashe hearing people talk about muse like hes still out there somewhere (ouch!) or talking about muse like he was killed by his friends (actually now that i type this out i think ashe would prefer this option so much more. man. he has so many issues) it takes ashe a loooong long long time to even consider using his powers again much less entertain the idea of going back to hero work, so it's not really like... an issue? for a bit? we haven't rlly nailed down that period of time yet but I would assume the prt has him under some sort of loose supervision until it's decided that he's not an active threat anymore and he gets to fucking REST for a little bit ! we're intentionally leaving late game nhw a little loose rn because I know I personally just really wanna see how s3 of pd turns out before we nail down anything too solid bc if there's one thing i love about nhw it's referencing back to things happening in canon and making them so much worse ^_^ but I think we've talked about ashe potentially going back to hero stuff eventually under a new name. and nobody can say shit because if a cape has a new name that means they're a different person and nobody can say anything (cough cough looks at armsmaster/defiant) !!!

my non-fic worm is kinda branching off the first 1k i wrote for stwg's fic exchange, which then hopped skipped and jumped over into its own idea and now I'm enjoying my down time imagining the shenanigans of Robin sneaking Steve over post s4, like living in her bedroom hiding in the closet shenanigans cause his parents aren't back and the hospital had to discharge him to help other patients and she can't just leave him home alone that's a recipe for disaster so really she basically had no choice but to sneak him in through her ground-floor window with a duffel bag under her bed and steal a couple of her dads button down shirts because Steve's a dingus and didn't bring any even though any pullover is a pain in the back-and-tricep-roadrash right now.

so of course robins parents find out because stashing away a whole ass adult man in a bedroom for more than a day or so is actually pretty difficult even when he's not gravely injured. in my head they're pretty understanding after they get to cool down a bit, its not like steve was never around before and he'd always been polite, plus even if they still did think stobin were secretly dating, they're clearly not doing anything and the only reason Robin didn't just ask was because she wasn't going to take no for an answer.

And then on the actual wips front i had the brilliant why-didnt-i-think-of-this-sooner idea to pick a wip to work on based on what i was brainworming just for fun, which led me to my actual stobin wip and within like 20 minutes i had a couple epiphanies about the connective themes im exploring like realizing what i was putting together without realizing. (cut because oh god this got long fast)

Its ended up being a lot about gender, the imaginary wall between girls and guys in a friendship sense that feels solid just because you haven't had the proof that its not really there yet, the heteronormativity and amatonormativity driving a wedge between possible friendships. in this fic, robins really apprehensive about forming any kind of connection with steve because she's had the experience of guys only being interested in dating that she has a lot of mistrust around and m/f friendships that start forming (and ofc it ends with post starcourt platonic with a capital P soulmateisms 💕). i also have this little struggle where like if i can name multiple important theme-y words i fear ive got too many going on, so i was afraid this whole loneliness thing I've got for robin was going to conflict with the gender thing but i think ive got it sorted, they're different levels and their connected ideas, robins escape from loneliness means she has to break through her internal gender wall and let it be broken, plus the loneliness is going to be more explicit in the text because robins like fully aware of it while the gender stuff is probably going to stay mostly subtext and be much broader, popping up in steves pov area too and really all around them.

also had no clue how relevant it would be but steve and robin are like perfectly balanced blurred gender lines like steve is a masculine dude comfortable in his masculinity that also has a healthy relationship with his feminine trait, the hair stuff the babysitter/mom friend thing, he's not ashamed of any of it (and actually i had a longer post on Steve's gender balance somewhere in my drafts but we don't have time rn) and then robins like practically the same in her expression of femininity, she's as far as we see comfortably a girl, wears makeup, loved that movie about doomed love, she's got her feminine traits but also likes dabbling in masculine traits, she dresses more masc (tho its still a solid middle ground, comfort is a big focus), she likes ufos and creepy stuff and jokes about spider babies in hair. idk it just felt like they're a matching set as far as gender goes, if they did combine into one being they'd be bigender 100%

The night was still young, the party barely started. The penthouse was filled with people he doesn’t know, loud music engulfed every corner, cans of coke and beer filled the tables, not leaving any empty spaces. It’s safe to say that Scaramouche was overwhelmed.

Parties was never really his thing. But perhaps he longed to see someone in particular. It’s been 2 weeks after their last project meeting and they have been getting warmer ever since.

Those malice tones behind his words slightly toned down, replaced with glints of tease instead. Her daily insults were now more at ease, sole purpose to lighten the mood instead of bringing him on edge (only partly true though).

Though of course, their occasional banters and fights were still as boldly evident. One disagreement can lead into series disasters. But hey, it’s a bit of an improvement right? Maybe it wasn’t too noticeable, but the atmosphere surrounding the two has surely calmed down.

As if on que, what seemed to be a group of people entered the door. With laughters overflowing from some, soft chuckles from others, and a side eye from one. Although, the group wasn’t exactly what peaked his interest.

There lies the person he had been waiting for not that he’d ever admit that. The makeup drawn on your eyes made them more saturated than ever, with the blush on your cheeks that highlighted your features, he almost failed to notice a blue haired man beside you.

Words he planned to spare for you left untucked, no longer in need of use. He saw the smile you gave that man, the light in your eyes brighter than the mirrorball hanging above, as the person alongside you returned the same smile.

Scaramouche knew he had to remember. You and him were on a temporary truce, a t-truce as you would phrase it. All that just for the sake of your grades and what comes after will be the same as before. Besides that you guys were nothing, barely even friends. But alas, that alone couldn’t stop his heart to clench ever so slightly. Silently hoping that it was him that you smiled for, and wishfully thinking about what would happen if you never hated him before.

Nina: I think there's a part of Oskar that's actually quite intimidated by his sister. You know how brothers never really see their sister as anything but their sister? There's an element of that at play, but Nina is a force to be reckoned with and it's almost impossible to view her as anything but impressive. So, Oskar struggles knowing where to really compartmentalize his emotions for her. On the surface, she exudes this widely capable and driven personality and she balances it seemingly perfectly with her social life. I think it brings out feelings of inadequacy for Oskar, which he's definitely not used to, and makes him feel a little uncomfortable that he's spent his entire life so wrapped up in purely business whereas Nina can trot in and make it all look easy and still have time for herself. I also play around with elements of misogyny in their relationship, where Oskar often tries to belittle her accomplishments and her social life as if trying to place this carrot in front of her for her to chase. Whereas, if Nina and Felix were swapped over, he'd not be doing the same thing. Having said ALL of that, Oskar loves her and does respect her in his own way. He's deeply protective and we have a few HCs of when Nina first came out, Oskar caused a very uncomfortable atmosphere towards people who were having a homophobic conversation. However, he struggles showing genuine care and often turns these situations into blame for Nina not being discrete enough. Sad and I hate him HAHA. Felix: MY BOYS. Oskar and Felix have, hands down, the most complex brother dynamic I have ever written. Felix literally represents everything Oskar is against, and at times he can't even stand the sight of him. Felix goes against how Oskar has been raised and all he can see is his brother's wasted potential. He admires Felix's quick wit, even his sense of humor, and he's not even shy about singing praises for Felix's intelligence. But it all wraps up in this intense, raw, hostility all stemming from the fact that Oskar can't stand to see his brother suffering. What I've loved to explore so far is how Felix also forces Oskar to reflect on their parents and family life, which is something he rarely does unless the brothers are together. Because Felix's behavior forces him to question how did something get this bad? It also forces Oskar to address, from his perspective, that his parents were more lenient with Felix but in turn makes him realize how harsh they were with him. It's all very messy and I literally get so emotional LOL Filippa: We haven't written them yet but I'm excited to. Filippa was only nine years old when Oskar was born, so there's this definite overlap where she's an aunt but Oskar doesn't view her the way most nephews would view their aunt. Especially as she was then off and studying for art and doing what was deemed "impractical" and a "disappointment", in many ways, the way Filippa was viewed and talked about definitely played a part in why Oskar kept his head down and knew where to focus his energy to. Also, I'm excited to explore how he's actually become rather cruel towards her especially when he starts "connecting dots" that her influence could play a part in Felix's behavior. Because obviously, his brain will do that.
