Dads dethrone corrupt official

Despite what some people say, you certainly can fight City Hall, even if the building burned down (twice!), as what happened in this case.

The City Hall that burned down was in the town of Aurora in Wise County.

Aurora is best known for a legendary crash landing of an alien in 1897.

The supposed remains of the Aurora Spaceman are buried in a town cemetery.

This latest story involves a different kind of outsider and illustrates the difficulties some people face when they don’t fit in.

In this story, two men, married to each other for more than 15 years, felt disrespected, even discriminated against, because of their lifestyle.

Maybe some would put up with this, but there are others like Gary Garcia and Chad Pritchett who will fight back and, in doing so, change the history of the small town.

They also pushed successfully for a new state law that bans anonymous complaints made to Child Protective Services about child abuse.

More on that later.

The two husbands opened a restaurant in town called Atomic Taco Cafe. Atomic was known for its Hatch chile, which was so good that in a blurb Texas Monthly recommended the bean and cheese burrito, “which is punctuated with Hatch chile inside and out.”

The magazine writer wanted to come back and do a longer story, but while he was there for the first story, he smelled a leaking septic system and methane gas.

The smell was a real appetite killer. He put Atomic’s big story on hold.

At first, the cafe owners thought they could get the problem fixed simply by asking the landlord to repair the broken septic system.

That didn’t work.

The property involved was owned by Toni Wheeler, Aurora’s town administrator.

She was not quick on making repairs.

Frustrated, Garcia called the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, which sent an inspector who issued a state citation.

Rising conflict

For Wheeler, who ran the little town, this was a step too far.

She declared war on the two men.

It’s a war she now must regret as she sits in a cell at the Wise County jail, awaiting transfer to a state prison for a 15-year sentence.

She lost the war in the worst way.

Every little roadblock she threw at the men, they threw back, only harder.

She tried to raise their rent to an unaffordable level to force them out early before their 2-year lease expired.

For this, court records show, she even created a fake owner to get them out.

The pair launched their own investigation into Wheeler.

They heard rumors that Wheeler may be embezzling money from town coffers.

At first, law enforcement was reluctant to get involved.

But the pair kept pushing.

They wanted the town to hire an auditor.

Wheeler created a fake auditor, complete with business cards, a website and an all-is-clear report on town finances.

Garcia filed an open records request at City Hall for the town financials.

He never got a response.

Months later, City Hall, where the records were kept, suddenly burned down.

Wheeler blamed a bad multi-plug outlet and extension cord,

Investigators never found that.

All anyone knew was that Wheeler was the last person inside before the fire.

Suspicion growing

The suspicious fire stirred the interest of Texas Ranger B.J. Hill, who knew that the bank used by the town would store duplicate records.

Going through the records at the bank, the Ranger had a holy moly moment.

He discovered, according to records, that Wheeler had stolen $650,000 from the town.

That included $96,000 to Amazon, $10,000 to Apple and another $85,000 for personal credit cards.

She even stole from the cemetery association, Hill charged.

He also learned that back in 2007, a similar fire broke out at City Hall, where Wheeler worked then.

Nobody was ever charged with arson in either fire.

Garcia was on the sidelines urging law enforcement to go after Wheeler.

But interest in pursuing the case was muted.

Then came a game-changer:

Wheeler did something so heinous that months later the Texas Legislature passed a law to make it illegal.

CPS reports

She filed an anonymous report to Child Protective Services about the two husbands who adopted a young boy.

In her anonymous complaint, she claimed that the boy was sexually abused and a victim of sex trafficking.

She made it up.

The child could have been hustled out of his house on fake charges, and this family would have been broken for years to come.

Fortunately, the allegations were groundless, and CPS quickly cleared the family.

Using the system as it was meant to be used, the two dads sued the town in federal court, citing civil rights violations and discrimination.

The case was settled out of court.

In addition to Wheeler, some of her allies who were involved in sullying the family’s reputation and forcing them to close their cafe were taken to civil court.

There, a judge ordered a half-dozen Wheeler cohorts, including her and her husband, to pay the two dads default judgments totaling $7.5 million.

As of today, not a penny has been paid.

Most of them filed bankruptcy.

On the criminal side, in late August, Wheeler pleaded guilty to embezzlement of more than $300,000 and filing false CPS reports (she filed a fake one against her brother, too).

‘We persisted’

When delivering the victim impact statement before the sentencing judge, Garcia said:

“Our work in uncovering and reporting these activities, placed our family in grave danger. Yet we persisted because we believed in justice for our son and the citizens of Aurora, who have suffered from years of theft and embezzlement under her watch.”

Wheeler was sentenced to 15 years in prison. 11547550

The dads’ lawyer, D. Bradley Kizzia of Dallas, praises his clients’ courage fighting someone who held “the power of public office.”

“Despite the legal hurdles in the way, Gary and Chad never gave up.”

The Wise County Messenger reported that Wheeler must make restitution of $250,000 and likely will lose her Wise County property, valued at $268,000.

The new law — House Bill 63 — makes filing a false child abuse report a felony.

In a change, the bill’s language states that CPS “is not authorized to accept an anonymous report of abuse or neglect.”

The dads’ son turns 9.

“He got a great birthday gift with Toni going to prison,” Garcia says

Watchdog tips

File open records requests to learn the internal workings of governments.

If wrongdoing is found, contact law enforcement, local, county, state and federal.

Show your evidence.

Be persistent without being rude or annoying.

Learn pertinent laws.

Texas has landlord-tenant and anti-discrimination laws.

Complain to appropriate regulators.

In this case, the fathers complained to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.

Consider, as the fathers did, pushing for a new state law.

It’s a longshot, but every two years, hundreds of new bills get passed in the Texas Legislature.

Buonasera ragazze e ben tornate nella rubrica “metto tutto in faccia qualcosa funzionerà”…ah no. In realtà fino a poco tempo fa davo poca importanza alla skincare routine, complice la mia pelle che non mi aveva mai dato problemi e il fatto che mi truccassi pochissimo. Fino a quattro anni fa neanche mettevo il fondotinta: la mia pelle appariva priva di rossori, rughette d’espressione e qualche cenno di occhiaie ma ho sempre optato per un buon correttore così subito la mia pelle era pronta al trucco (solo mascara e matita).

Come cambiano le stagioni, i mesi, i programmi, la politica, le tasse, le mode e le culture, cambia anche la nostra pelle. Ad oggi la pelle di qualche tempo fa me la posso proprio sognare, di base per chi ha scompensi ormonali, come me, è veramente difficile mantenere una pelle bella, rosea e ben illuminata senza l’utilizzo di prodotti adatti. Più in generale, dimostrare una pelle pulita e sana è difficile per tutti. Se fino a qualche anno fa i prodotti skincare erano associati alle creme anti-age della nonna dal prezzo esorbitante ad oggi il trend consta di millemila prodotti posti sul mercato per ogni tipo di esigenza e divisi per prezzo, complice la necessità sempre maggiore di prodotti che salvaguardino la nostra pelle dal make-up e/o dal sole. Ogni marchio ha dovuto adeguarsi a questo nuovo trend beauty creando prodotti competitivi e sempre più adatti alle esigenze di ragazze e donne.

Come da titolo, l’articolo verte sulle migliori maschere low cost che ho provato e mi sono trovata meglio. La maggior parte le potete trovare nei supermercati o negozi come OVS e Upim, altre direttamente online, ad es. su Amazon. Pronte? Let’s go girls.

1. Maschere Geomar

L’estate scorsa mi trovavo da Upim e incuriosita dalle maschere Geomar (tutte in crema), di cui avevo già sentito parlare, decido di prenderne circa quattro. Fate conto che ogni maschera Geomar che prendete vale per due dosi. Ho preso due nutrienti e vellutanti, una esfoliante e idratante e, infine, una purificante. Le ho pagate circa €3,50 l’una e devo dire di essermi trovata molto bene.

La mia preferita rimane quella nutriente e vellutante in quanto la differenza tra il prima e il dopo è notevole: la pelle rimane liscia, vellutata e sembra già più sana. Io ho messo subito dopo una crema per cercare di mantenere più a lungo la freschezza di quel momento; in generale, però, la maschera permette di nutrire la pelle in modo da arricchirla di principi mancanti. Non aspettatevi miracoli sia chiaro, ma facendola una volta a settimana anche la vostra pelle ne risentirà in positivo. Infine è ottima se bisogna partecipare ad eventi e/o cerimonie perchè agisce in 5-10 minuti e anche il make-up che andrete a fare apparirà più naturale.

Consigliate.

2. Maschera Garnier

Tra le maschere low cost che compro e ricompro sempre quando sono da OVS vi sono le  maschere Garnier Skin Active, in particolare la monodose purificante (che tende al verde) e quella all’acqua per pelli secche e disidratate. Sono maschere che costano una belinata (circa €1,30) e mi piacciono un sacco perché lasciano la pelle liscia, rimpolpata e subito più giovane.

Sul web le recensioni sono quasi tutte positive e anche i tempi di posa sono molto brevi. Queste maschere sono monodose ma senza esagerare e mettendole nei punti giusti è possibile utilizzarne una almeno due volte. Vi terro aggiornate perchè queste maschere sono in crema ma ho intenzione di comprare le nuove in tessuto, le Hydra Bomb energizzante e per pelli sensibili quindi Stay tuned.

Super consigliate

3. Maschere 7° Heaven

Sono le classiche maschere reperibili ovunque. Io le prendo da OVS, come molti altri prodotti. Vi sono di diversi tipi ma…vanno a ruba! Complice di questi “furti” il prezzo veramente basso da €1,00 a €1,90 e ogni maschera ha un sacco di prodotto cremoso all’interno che basta anche per più di tre applicazioni. Le compro e le ricompro sempre anche io. La maschera di questa linea che più uso è la Dead Sea Mud Pac ma è ottima anche la Black Seweed Peel Off, maschera peel-off nera.

Sono maschere per lo più idratanti e purificanti con azione più o meno forte in base al tipo di pelle, se mista, secca o grassa. Difficile non trovare il prodotto giusto. Io consiglio di farle almeno 2 volte a settimana visto che hanno un’effetto a breve durata (una giornata circa) ma per quanto costano svolgono bene il loro lavoro. Io cerco sempre di tenerne in casa una di riserva.

Super consigliata e da provare!

4. Maschere Sephora

Le maschere di Sephora sono conosciutissime e le recensioni sul web sono piuttosto positive soprattutto in riferimento alla qualità-prezzo. Queste maschere sono presenti in tutti i punti Sephora e anche online su sephora.it. Si dividono in maschere in tessuto e maschere in argilla. Quelle in tessuto sono le ultime uscite: esistono in 7 diverse colorazioni aventi ognuna proprietà diverse. Hanno un costo di €3,90 e all’interno è presente una maschera in cotone che ben si adatta alla forma del viso e ne rimane attaccata a lungo data la presenza di siero in quantità medie. Più di tutte mi piacciono e consiglio la maschera al melograno, per un effetto energizzante e rilassante, e la maschera alla rosa per un effetto ultra idratante e illuminante per chi ha pelle secca e tendente al grigiastro.

Anche le maschere all’argilla sono presenti in 7 colorazioni diverse in base all’effetto che danno. Sono bustine di 35 ml ciascuna e si applicano come le normali maschere in crema. La quantità di prodotto presente, ovviamente, permette più applicazioni nel tempo, basti che vengano richiuse bene. Quelle che uso di più sono quella all’argilla viola e all’argilla verde che sono perlopiù purificanti ed esfolianti. Per qualcosa di più leggero ma comunque idratante e illuminante uso la maschera all’argilla rosa. Ce ne sono per tutti i gusti con possibilità di mixare le maschere sulla pelle in base le problematiche delle varie zone viso.

5. Maschere TonyMoly I’m Real

Le maschere TonyMoly sono tra quelle più conosciute e apprezzate dalle ragazze amanti della skincare. Sono maschere koreane che esistono da tanto e sono anche economiche e molto valide. Per queste maschere, come per molte di quelle finora elencate, il rapporto qualità-prezzo è molto buono. Le maschere hanno all’interno 21 ml di prodotto che ci fa pensare possano essere riutilizzabili, se non applicate in eccesso. Sono simpaticissime, presenti in molte varianti e con un packacing che non passa inosservato, ognuna con un ingrediente principale che la contraddistingue e le permette di svolgere una specifica funzione.

Ogni pelle, quindi, necessita di un’azione specifica in base alle problematiche possedute e, come per le maschere Sephora, anche con queste è possibile ricreare un mix di più elementi su varie zone del viso che permettano una maggiore e più completa azione. In realtà a parte la simpatia per queste maschere la funzione non è per tutte diversa, anzi a grandi linee si tratta di maschere più che altro idratanti. Sono maschere vivaci, carine da provare con le amiche e in generale hanno un’azione idratante, purificante e nutriente. Le Pretty Animalz sono maschere in tessuto divise in 8 varianti, ognuna la quale ha un’azione un po’ più specifica. Queste maschere sono facilmente reperibili da OVS nel reparto shaka beauty e hanno un costo di €3,99.

Nelle indicazioni vi è scritto di tenerle almeno un 15 minuti ma molte ragazze sul web dichiarano che dopo aver tolto la maschera attenendosi molto bene alle indicazioni la pelle appare oleosa per via del siero rimasto. Qui io vi consiglio un massaggio utilizzando il siero rimasto piuttosto che lavare via tutto! Quelle idratanti ovviamente lasciato la pelle liscia e idratata almeno per tutta la giornata, riuscendovi a truccarvi anche meglio (es. quella con maialino, tigre e panda). Quella purificante è la maschera con il pinguino che consiglio di fare ogni tanto per via della presenza abbondante di siero. Le maschere scimmia, lontra e gatto sono nutrienti ed infine quella con la volpe è fortemente illuminante. Super consigliata. In generale le considero da provare almeno due volte al mese magari alternate a maschere più leggere come le 7th Heaven.

Heyy! I've been trying to get more involved with my skin care and I was wondering what are the best sheetmasks to use? Like, what general ingredients to look for and trustworthy brands. I'm kind of paranoid abt products since I constantly (kind of irrationally) feel like evry product is a marketing ploy so ur advice would b a lot of help!

I think it’s just a personal preference for sheet masks. Essentially they all pretty much do the same thing which is to hydrate the skin. Personally for me, I avoid masks with alcohol because I have dry skin and my face doesn’t feel hydrated after 20-30 mins. I also prefer thin sheet masks just because I feel better with them on.

My favorite sheet masks right now are the TonyMoly master lab masks because the sheet mask is completely soaked in essence and thin. My face looks super dewy and feels great afterwards. Also it’s available at my local ulta so easy access. I don’t believe in spending more than $2 (maybe $3 if your skin is desperate) on a sheet mask because it’s something that you only use once and throw away. Some other brands I use are Bonvivant (I hate the smell but it’s a thin mask and really hydrating but I got a 70 sheet mask pack last year and need to finish it), Etude House Air Therapy masks (thin, 0.2mm, you can get a pack of 15 for ~$15 on amazon but it’s not that easily accessible for everyone also you can’t specifically pick which masks you use), and Mamonde Flower Essence (thicker mask but not as thick as the FaceShop ones that I tried, they sell it on amazon too).

Brands that I hated were The FaceShop (forgot what they were called) and Bonvivant (I hated the smell). I also hated the ones that comes in a set (cleanser, serum, and mask) because they were a pain to use when I already have my own cleanser and serum plus if you liked it, they didn’t have a full sized version so you would be stuck using these sample sized products. Keep in mind that there are multiple sheet mask lines with different formulas and fits for each brand and I haven’t tried most of it yet.

You’re not wrong about how sheet masks are a marketing ploy. It works really well but not necessary. I just get really lazy with sheet masks even though all I had to do was lie down and wait for the 15-30 mins to be over bc I’m really high maintenance with my skin so I always have wash my hands before touching my face and extra trip to the bathroom just seems like too much effort haha. - admin C

As for me, I have oily skin so sheet masks have been pretty nice for me. I don’t really have a preference for sheet masks. It all depends on the individual. Normally I use ones targeted for however I’m feeling that day. (Stressed, tired, dehydrated skin, etc) Then after 20 minutes or so I’d end up having dewy glowing skin. It’s not that oily glow either so this is a much nicer and quicker way to moisturize whenever I’m lazy.

The only ones I dislike are the aloe ones from Tony Moly. My skin stings from using it, but it’s usually because of aloe. I also dislike the ones that are soaked in essences that are super creamy/slimy. It’s just too much imo. I typically only spend $2 on sheet masks too, any more is a no go unless it’s something I’d really want to test. - admin D

Now, I didn’t think to get a picture of them - but the powders are an item we had before. A few months back we got a set of them, and believe it or not I still have one remaining that I didn’t use up yet. They have a lovely peach scent~

They suggest upon using them up, you can replace them with things like body soap and other cleansers, such as another product we also got in this months box.

On one hand, you could say this isn’t a necessity product, but it’s really fun and kind of cute to look at. It also saves you from combining the product in your hands (which is how they suggested doing it before) or in food containers if you didn’t have something else, and in general it’s really easy to use and clean up.

What I found really nice was that you can leave your left-over in the container and it’ll be good later. It does thin down but you can easily re-foam it. Now, this specific product gained a yeast-ish smell by the 3rd day so I discarded the little amount left, but I’m not sure if the same would happen to the other items. 

Snail Essential Cream & Deve Foaming Facial Cleanser

Our next item is an essential cream by eyeNlip, a korean cosmetics brand. This cream is made from snail secretion (this must be a new trending ingredient, I’ve been seeing it a lot more recently) and contains 10 different seed extracts and several other fun things. It’s spout pouch makes it easy to use and bring around, and it not only improves elasticity, but it reduces fine lines.

I’ve been using this after using the facial foam products and I love how it feels. It has a bit of a cooling effect while applying it, and I found a little goes a long way with this, so although its small and doesn’t seem to have much product, it will last you a good while depending on how often you use it. It’s not sticky and the skin absorbs it quickly, and it makes it feel smooth. It also smells really good.

This item is the one the pamphlet recommends using once you use up all your powders for the awapeccino. The Deve foaming facial cleansers come in 4 varieties (Honey, deeply moisturizing, rose, charcoal) and uses all natural products.

I normally don’t like honey very much, but when it comes to beauty products you can either get items that smell like honey (a very... pungent smell <_<) or it will smell like a flowery-sweet honey or hair product. In most cases we get the second option, and this fit the bill in terms of scent. The product is thick and foams up very well, it feels very nice on the skin and I think it’s been doing pretty well. The bottle is also very full with product! It’s perfect!

Choosy Moist Lip Pack

Choosy lips are a fun product that is not foreign to this blog, I’m pretty sure we had this one before too. In this months box they were available in either mint chocolate or chocolate banana, both made with the intention to moisten the lips and keep them feeling smooth after 5-30 minutes of wear.

It smells very yummy, like typical mint chocolate anything. But I love mint chocolate ♥ It makes me want to eat it~

However... in saying that, it might just be me but it seems like whenever use these (for the full 30 minutes) the effect never lasts very long, maybe a few hours if that. They’re really fun and always smell good, but I’m not really sure if there’s a way to improve that or if is just me.

Choco Mint Face Mask

Choco Mint is very popular and trendy in Japan as both a food item and sheet mask. This specific one was part of dessert mask set, which we did have before. It came about a year ago or so with another dessert ask, but this one is made with cacao, which moisturizes the skin, while the mint lightens and refreshes it.

I think I still remember using this previously. It has a very strong mint chocolate scent -again it makes me want to eat it- but if I recall the mask quality itself wasn’t that impressive or the effects didn’t last too long, there was something about it I didn’t like.

Lovely Cookie Blush

Now I know what you’re thinking, “they gave them 2 of those?“ but if you’re a reader of the blog you might remember me mentioning this blush :3 the one not being held is my original one. I’ve had it for a couple years now and its still good, it’s one of the very few blushers I own and use. The one I originally owned is #2 Strawberry Choux, and the new one is PK002 Grapefruit Jelly. Due to the numbers, I’m not sure if they got rid of mine or if this one is a modified/renamed version. The other color available in the box was PK004 Peach Choux Wafer.

I was very excited to get another one; but as you can see (or not, the picture didn’t come out as well as I was aiming for) there are a couple of differences between them:

The original one has an Etude House logo, while the newer one has a logo for the Cookie Blusher.

The ribbon on the puff is different in shape between them.

I noticed the colored part of the container on my original seems to have a very faint pearly finish, while the new ones are plain plastic.

Besides those things I didn’t notice any other differences other than the color itself, which surprised me to see that the new one is a lot more noticeable in comparison to how pale my original one was. But I still really like it in both quality and cuteness factor ♥

Petit Bunny Gloss Bar & Aurora Eye and Lip Topper

To say I was excited is an understatement when it comes to this next product! I’ve been wanting to buy the Petit Bunny Gloss Bars from Tony Moly when I first spotted them a few years ago- but I put it off and I heavily regret it now because before they had a full set and now I can’t seem to find it anymore.

These are ultra-kawaii moisturizing lip gloss bars with a sheer color and glossy finish; they come in a variety of colors, each with a bunny that has a different facial expression. These can be used on top of matte lipstick, or on their own, and they’re also available in perfume sticks, which I also wanted and never bought <.<

On Japan Haul and in the box these were available in Strawberry (which is the one I would have chosen), apple, cherry, peach, and orange. But if you go on Amazon you can find a few more flavors/colors. They are also scented and it smells very good.

The product is extremely shiny (not glittery like the pic would have you believe), and it is moisturizing. It makes the lips very smooth and even though it is orange, it looks pretty natural on the lips and isn’t obnoxious looking at all. I always worry orange won’t look good on me, but I don’t have a problem wearing this.

Our final item of the box (see the first pic in this section) is a little container of Crayon Touch-Me Aurora Eye & Lip Topper, a product meant to be worn over other products or on its own. It was available in silver, purple, or pink.

I like it :3 it feels very light weight on the eyes and lips, and it’s extremely glittery and leaves no bumpy, crusty texture from the glitter in the product. There’s a lot you can do with a product like this.

Content - 5 out of 5. I loved all the products! I had no complaints (unless you count the face mask remark I made, but I’ve had worse) and I feel like my skin has been very pampered and rejuvenated... even though it’s now late-fall/autumn. But it’s very face oriented, which on one hand is a little boring.

Theme: 5 out of 5. I can see how these items would be pretty nice to have during summer and for the “glow“ vibe they fit very well. But they also strongly remind me of products we’d expect to see in winter themed boxes too, or any time of the year honestly.

Total Rank: 10 out of 10. I’m not sure this feels like a summer box to me, only because of how widespread I can see these items being- but I really like them and I think this would be a really good one to recommend if you like facial products. I found the face orientation a little boring because I prefer a nice mix of products, but that doesn’t change how much I like them.

Be it an official trip for a day or a two-week long vacation, it's always a task deciding what would be best to carry during your travels. In the last few years, I seem to have almost mastered the packing game and maybe I would come up with a blog on the tips and tricks I follow. But for this post, I shall stick to the basic skin and hair products that are hassle-free and does the job. Let's start with something I tell everyone who is trying to achieve good skin and hair. In fact, we are all trying to achieve that and, trust me when I say again, nothing works better than drinking water! And we end up drinking less water than usual during our travels. So here’s something that I do to funk up my water -

Fruit Infuser Bottle I received this bottle as a gift and all I can say is it’s one of the best gifts I have received. A lot of you might ask, we can buy bottled water everywhere so what is the use of making your luggage heavier? Well, I have quite a few reasons for carrying your own water bottle – I do not have to buy single-use plastic water bottles. That helps me reduce my plastic waste. (A little step from our side will go a long way)I don’t have to go looking for a shop to buy drinking water everywhere I go.Saves money. I drink a lot of water and so I might end up buying a lot of bottles or just drinking less water. And if I carrying my own bottle I can refill it anytime and anywhere (every place has an aqua-guard these days.)At times drinking plain water can be boring but, if it’s flavored you actually end up drinking more. So these bottles actually helped me drink more water during my travels. The next essential not just helps you keep fresh during summers but can be helpful to remove makeup and dirt from your face, neck, and hands too.

Wet Wipes Wet wipes are something that I always keep handy in my purse no matter what the season. They are handy, useful, cheap and can be super productive while traveling. They work as an instant freshener for your face, can be used to wipe your dirty hands, can be used to remove your make-up or any sort of heavy cream. There are a number of uses of these little miracle wipes, so keep them handy! Just in case, you can find this online @Nykaa - facial wipes While there are a number of essential items to keep handy while traveling like a small flashlight, foldable rain gear(I got one from Decathlon for a very decent price and it folds into the size of a ladies wallet), a nail clipper set( buy the tiny set, so that it slips into a corner of your suitcase without taking any space), etc. But I decided to focus on the ones related to your hair and skin in this blog. And talking about self-care during travel, it is always a good idea to buy a travel bottle kit.

Empty Travel Bottle Kit Here are some tips on what to fill your travel kit with – Shampoo – When you travel it is best not to experiment too much with products. So, stick to the regular shampoo that you have been using. Changing to a new shampoo during travel might make your hair limp and dull. If you love to experiment, it’s still a good idea to keep your regular shampoo handy.Conditioner – It is a bad idea to experiment with your conditioner while traveling. A lot of the look of your hair depends on how the conditioner is suiting you. I don’t really like experimenting with my conditioner.Body Lotion – Just fill in from your regular big bottle of body lotion, so that you don’t end up buying one if the weather is too dry.Rosewater – Rose water can be really a miracle product while you travel. It works for all skin types and can be used as a toner, make-up remover or a mist. Apart from that, I prefer carrying a travel kit for my skin.

Skincare Kit At the moment I am carrying a set by Forest Essentials (review coming up soon). I first saw their products at a friend’s place. I never knew that Forest Essentials had travel size products which were decently priced if not cheap. I had picked up three products from their travel range – cleanser, toner, and moisturizer. And that pretty much sums up my minimal skincare routine during travels. And if you are looking for such combos online... Nykaa has some good options. But my skincare is incomplete without a sunscreen lotion!

Sunscreen Lotion You are traveling or not, a sunscreen lotion should be in your skincare each day every day! Be it in the flight or anywhere else, if there is one thing that is always on my face, its sunscreen. And make sure it’s the case with you too. I generally use the one from Lotus  Matte Gel and you can check the review by clicking here! The use of sunscreen lotion is more than just avoiding tan. And it should be that one skincare product that you apply all the time. You can click on the review link above to know more about the importance of using a sunscreen. When it comes to traveling there is another product that I keep handy all the time.

Hand Cream I have dry hands. And when I am traveling I have seen my hands end up looking like a duck foot - wrinkled and dry! And here comes the magical hand cream in play. Hand creams are thicker than body lotion, but you can also fill a small leakproof box with your regular body lotion and use it as a hand cream. It works just fine! I have been doing that till I picked this pretty blue tube of hand cream from Ceylon Spa in SriLanka. While I am sure, you must be getting hand creams in drugstores in your area, but if you wish to pick them up online, Nykaa has some really good ones(even the cute bottles from Tony Moly) - here. There is never a perfectly packed luggage for any trip but little things come handy. It's best to keep a kit ready and aside for your travels and, make a list of the things you needed the last time you were on a vacation and you forgot to carry. Saves you time and helps you pack faster and smarter! :)

By troubled I assume you mean either oily or combination skin, which is my type as well. First part of the Korean 10-step skincare routine is double cleansing, with an oil-based cleanser then foam. I use the Face Shop ‘Rice Water Bright’ or Banila ‘Clean it Zero’ oil cleanser with the Tony Moly ‘Banana Cream’ foam cleanser together, which works serious magic! 

Also I’ve read lots of positive reviews for Cosrx, which is an acne treatment line although personally I haven’t tried it. Their ‘One Step Clear Pad’ is said to be extremely affective xx
