K-Beauty Haul: Revealing the Korean Skincare and Makeup Products I picked from Beauty Box Korea

One of the most exciting K-Beauty packages I have received from Beauty Box Korea (PR). I discovered their store just recently and was amazed by the selection of K-Beauty brands, especially some brands that are popular in Korea but are not easily available on other online stores. And they don’t sell just skincare, but k-pop goods, clothes, bags, accessories, and Korean food as well!

I had a hard time narrowing down my picks to the following as I had so many items on my wishlist. But, here’s what I picked:

Review of Tonymoly’s Wonder Shea Butter Chok Chok Mask Sheet

Tonymoly is a very popular, well-known Korean brand that carries all sorts of fun and interesting skincare and cosmetics. Their Wonder Shea Butter Chok Chok Mask Sheet is designed to moisturize and nourish rough dry skin. Key ingredients include 1,000ppm of shea butter (moisturizing, nourishing, anti-inflammatory, anti-aging), arginine (anti-aging, quickens wound healing, repairing, rejuvenating, antioxidant, increases blood flow and regeneration), and milk extract (improves complexion, makes skin fairer, soothes skin irritation, anti-wrinkle, moisturizing, anti-aging). This mask retails for between $2-3 USD, you can get 10 pieces here for $23.85 + free shipping.

Ingredients

Water, Glycerin, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Dipropylene Glycol, Glyceryl Stearate, PEG-100 Stearate, Polyglyceryl-3 Methylglucose Distearate, Hydroxyacetophenone, Panthenol, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter (1,000ppm), Carbomer, Arginine, Xanthan Gum, Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/Beheneth-25 Methacrylate Crosspolymer, 1,2-Hexanediol, Milk Extract, Disodium EDTA, Fragrance

This mask contains 20 grams (0.7 oz) and it has a basic skincare type of scent.

The mask is made from rayon fabric which helps the mask to hold lots of essence and it helps the mask to fit more closely to the contours of the skin. The mask has a good fit, I did need to adjust the eye holes but it's mainly because sheet masks touching my under eyes is extremely irritating.

Recommended use is to open and apply to the face after cleansing, leave on for 10-20 minutes, and then remove, pat excessive essence gently into the skin for better absorption. After using, as mentioned earlier, this does contain fragrance and I think that if you're sensitive at all this is going to be irritating to you. Apart from that, this mask is pretty basic but does a nice job of hydrating, moisturizing and clearing redness, and toning the skin. The mask material is decent but nothing too spectacular, I did need to adjust it for a better fit but otherwise, it was comfortable and stayed on the skin well. The ingredients are pretty nice and there aren't any major irritants apart from the fragrance. I'd recommend this to anyone with dry skin and to people with aging skin, but if you have sensitive skin use it at your own discretion.

What I like: I do this mask does a good job of moisturizing and toning down redness. It's hydrating and it's a great basic everyday kind of mask. What I don't like: the fragrance is kind of strong and I feel like it could be done without.

Review of Tonymoly’s PURENESS 100 Mask in Shea Butter

Tonymoly is a very popular, well-known Korean brand that carries all sorts of fun and interesting skincare and cosmetics. Their PURENESS line includes this one and several others. This mask is designed to deeply moisturize the skin. Key ingredients include 100ppm of shea butter (moisturizing, nourishing, anti-inflammatory, anti-aging), sodium hyaluronate (anti-aging, anti-wrinkle, hydrating, moisturizing, healing), dipotassium glycyrrhizate (helps to reduce dry skin, restores skins suppleness, soothing, anti-inflammatory), and allantoin (softening, soothing, protecting, stimulates new cell growth). This mask retails for between $1-3 USD, you can get 10 pieces here for $13.08 + shipping.

Ingredients

This mask contains 21 ml (0.71 oz) and has a shea butter type of scent.

The sheet mask is a pure non-bleached fabric with cotton seeds. It has a very nice fit, I found it to be wider than other Tonymoly masks and I didn't need to adjust anything.

Recommended use is to open and apply the mask and leave it on for 20-30 minutes, after taking it off, pat or tap the remaining essence into the skin for better absorption. After using, the first thing to note, as I mentioned above, this product does have fragrance, but there are no other irritants in the ingredient list. Now, the mask itself is really nice, it's nice quality and inexpensive. The mask's material is of very nice quality and probably the most comfortable of any of their face masks. The effects are really nice and do last at least 20 hours or so. It's very moisturizing and skin-plumping. My skin had more of a bounce to it after removing the mask and I didn't notice any irritation on my skin, though my skin doesn't seem to know what it wants sometimes. The ingredients are very nice and nourishing, honestly, this mask really stood out for me and worked very well. I'd recommend this to any skin type, apart from anyone who cannot or does not want fragrance in their product.

What I like: this mask is very nourishing, moisturizing, and plumping. The effects last a good amount of time and I think with consistent use the effects would be more dramatic. The mask itself is very comfortable and really great quality, I think this is Tonymoly's best style of mask. What I don't like: I don't mind it, but fragrance is an issue and may be an irritant.
