SKINCARE HOLY GRAILS
So today's post is something a bit different than my usual. If I'm not reading and exploring astrology, I'm wrapped up in my robe doing my skincare. I've had a tough year with many breakouts, even though I've never had problems before. After many trials and errors I've come to make the routine that has helped my skin tremendously! I still do battle some hormonal breakouts and dark spots, but they are fading away as we speak. So today I'm sharing some tips and tricks, holy grails and routines that helped my skin flourish!
❕I want to add a disclaimer that I am by no means a cosmetologist nor dermatologist. If you can, I highly advise you to visit a dermatologist to help out in the skin department.
With that being said I'll firstly talk about a routine called SKIN CYCLING before we get into the products.
🤍Skin cycling is a process where you literally "cycle" products so you don't breakout. This is also an amazing tactic if you're adding a new product to your routine. My skin is highly reactive and sensitive, so by just putting something with a new ingredient on my face everyday, it will cause severe purging or even breakouts. I've had this happend when using salicylic acid. I would read how it's good to purge and waited a month and the breakouts kept coming. It was painful and ugly. So I decided to skin cycle and I've never had a problem with salicylic acid ever again.
My cycle consists of 4 days:
1. Normal skincare
2. Normal skincare
3. Exfoliation night
4. Recovery night
You go back and forth with your exfoliation and recovery nights and normal skincare. I find that by doing this my skin is never dry, patchy or iritated. For each of these days I have different moisturizers.
I would firstly recommend if you're starting off to just find an amazing cleanser, moisturizer and spf cream. Later you can add on, experiment with serums, retinols etc... If you have a damaged skin barrier be sure to stick to soothing cleansers and moisturizers. Don't beat your face, it will not be forgiving...trust me.
🤍Some of my tips&tricks I've learned over the years:
▫️Do your night routine atleast an hour before going to bed, so the products doesn't just end up on your sheets.
▫️Change your bed sheets every 5-7 days, I change every 5 days, but a week is totally fine.
▫️Stop touching your face after touching your hair. Your hair has many natural oils and putting it on your face afterwards can cause a breakout.
▫️Double cleansing is a must in the nighttime routine, especially if you wear makeup or work in a dusty environment.
▫️Really learn about your skin before getting into skincare, you have to know what you're dealing with. This is the biggest tip I have. The more you know your skin, the better products you'll find for your it.
▫️I know this is a classic one, but diet is really important. Even though I'm not that sensitive to this, I know many are. Dairy, fatty foods, fast food, snacks, soda, sugar and alcohol can have a huge impact how your skin treats you. By all means this DOESN'T mean you can't eat anything. Cut one out and bring it back to see if there's any change. For me I eat sugar only on special events and I watch out with my alcohol intake.
▫️Put different moisturisers on different parts of your face. In my nighttime routine I have two moisturizers one that I put on my oily parts and the other that I put on my really sensitive and reactive parts. This one is a personal tip and it helped me a lot. Since my cheeks are so dry I can't use the same moisturiser on my cheeks and my chin ,my chin is very oily, has whiteheads and is prone to a lot of breakouts. My chin can take stronger ingredients and even fragrance, but my cheek area is strictly for soothing creams with no perfume whatsoever.
🤍HOLY GRAILS
So I'll put the products into 4 sections, because I use them separately.
1. Morning Holy Grails
🤍 The Holika Holika Aloe Cleansing Foam
This product is the one I repurchase every month or two. If I had to choose the product that saved my skin, ding ding she gets the reward. It takes off makeup, cleanses your skin without it feeling stripped away, it leaves such a glow afterwards. I'm obsessed with this cleanser. It's also suitable for me in the summer and winter!
🤍 Cerave Hydrating cream-foam Cleanser
This one is a classic in the skincare community, because it does what it needs to do! I used this cleanser for 2 years until buying the Holika one. Cerave is the best big store brand for me. It never caused any damage to my skin, it's dermalogically tested and all their products are fragrance free. Simple, inexpensive and good. A good starter cleanser in my opinion.
🤍 Skin 79's Calming Aloe Vera Gel
You can see a pattern, aloe vera is the ingrediant for me! This gel has been a staple in my routine for atleast 3 years. It's an amazing layering moisturizer in the winter and daily moisturizer in the summer. It's fresh and light on the skin. Helps with dark spots and makes skin appear so bouncy!
🤍 Cerave Daily Moisturising Cream
Also another classic one, but I haven't found my perfect morning cream to date. This one is also fast and simple. It's lightweight, has hyaluronic acid and is really easy to use. It keeps the face nicely moisturized threw the day! This one is more of a summer moisturizer or if I'm staying in. The one labeled dry to extra dry I get in the winter!
2. Nighttime Holy Grails
🤍 CORSX Snail 96 Mucin
It's a little bit on the pricer side so I only use it before sleeping! It's amazing for repairing a damaged skin barrier and just the glow you get afterwords! Also amazing for recovery days.
🤍 The Effaclar Duo(+) from La Roche Posay
This is the star of the show! If I had to pick a favorite cream it goes to this one! This cream absolutely changed how I looked in a matter of 2 weeks. It exfoliates dead skin cells, reduces the look of dark spots and is very gentle! Highly recommend this even though it's also on the pricer side, but it's worth it.
🤍 La Roche Posay Lipikar Baume
Another La Roche product, because they are so good in my eyes. This moisturizer was introduced by my brother who has eczema and dermatitis. I used it on my cheeks one time and feel in love. It is a winter cream since it's very inriched. It's not heavy on the face and I use it if I've been out the whole day and the wind ate up my skin. It does wonders for my hands and knuckles since they are prone to being extra dry aswell. It's also good for recovery days!
3. Exfoliation Holy Grails
🤍 Cerave SA Soothing Cleanser
This cleanser is really rough on skin if I use it everyday, but every 4th day it does the job! I can tell it helps clear out my whiteheads and blackheads. I use it on my T zone area every 4 days and on my cheeks every 8th day, since they are so sensitive. Once I learned how to properly use this cleanser my skin has been doing amazing.
🤍 Aztec Clay Mask
A very popular product and I get why! This clay mask is better for me in the summer since it is so intense. I mix it with water and leave it on 5-7 minutes.
🤍 Inninisfree Pore Cleaning Clay Mask
I found out about this clay mask last summer and I can't describe how much I adore it. It's a more gentle clay mask where you don't feel any pulling sensation. I use this one in the winter more since it is so gentle. Highly recommend this aswell!
4. Recovery Day Holy Grails
🤍 La Roche Posay Lipikar cleanser
This cleanser is very rich and soft, I stay away from it on a daily basis because it's too heavy for everyday use. This cleanser is for very iritated and dry skin. I use this after my exfoliation night to bring back some moisture to my skin. It's extremely soothing and good for people with dry, itching and sensitive skin.
🤍 La Rosay Posay Cicaplast Baume B5+
This is a skin savior! Also it's a little pricey, but since I don't use it very often it's worth the price. This cream is amazing in recovery, to repair the skin barrier and for any anomalies. For example for the past week I've been down with the flu, after wiping your nose 1001 times the nose area can become quite inflamed, red and iritated. After using this two days in a row you can't even tell I had a runny nose, it's that amazing.
- just to be clear I have combination skin that is very dry mostly so a lot of these products are not for acne prone skin. The only products I would recommend to oily and acne prone people are the aloe vera, snail mucin and the effalcar duo!
🤍Hope you enjoyed and if ypu have any questions, I'll anwser them all in the comments!
Xoxo Numa

K-Beauty Haul: Revealing the Korean Skincare and Makeup Products I picked from Beauty Box Korea
One of the most exciting K-Beauty packages I have received from Beauty Box Korea (PR). I discovered their store just recently and was amazed by the selection of K-Beauty brands, especially some brands that are popular in Korea but are not easily available on other online stores. And they don’t sell just skincare, but k-pop goods, clothes, bags, accessories, and Korean food as well!
I had a hard time narrowing down my picks to the following as I had so many items on my wishlist. But, here’s what I picked:

Review of Holika Holika’s Pure Essence Mask in Lemon
Holika Holika is known as a brand that creates unique, eye-catching packaging that really appeals to customers by projecting a youthful image. Many of their products are inexpensive but contain high-quality ingredients. Their pure essence mask sheet is designed as a nude fit sheet, called ‘breathing sheet’ of low irritation and high moisturizing, which absorbs more essence than a regular sheet mask. It comes in various varieties including this one, lemon (vitality + brightening), shea butter (nourishing + moisturizing; review), avocado (elasticizing + moisturizing; review), acai berry (nourishing + vitality; review), cucumber (hydrating + soothing; review), damask rose (moisturizing + shine; review), green tea (moisturizing + soothing; review), pearl (vitality + whitening; review), rice (calming + brightening; review), strawberry (moisturizing + shine; review) and others. Their lemon mask is designed to moisturize and vitalize the skin. Key ingredients include: 1,000ppm of lemon fruit extract (skin clearing, brightening, lightening, anti-inflammatory, improves skin health), chamomile flower extract (anti-acne, nourishing, moisturizing, removes and soothes blemishes, hydrating), panthenol (penetrates deeply into the skin, hydrating, helps to infuse water into the cells, moisturizing), apple fruit extract (anti-aging, skin smoothing, antioxidant, protects skin, maintains skins elasticity) and cornflower flower extract (anti-inflammatory, redness-reducing, soothing, good for sensitive skin). This product retails for between $1-3 USD, you can get 5 pieces here for $9.98 + shipping.
Ingredients
Water, Glycerin, Dipropylene Glycol, Betaine, Polyglyceryl-10 Laurate, Butylene Glycol, Centella Asiatica Extract, Paeonia Suffruticosa (Tree Peony) Root Extract, 1,2-Hexanediol, Allantoin, Panthenol, Citrus Limon (Lemon) Fruit Extract (1,000ppm), Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Arginine, Carbomer, Glyceryl Caprylate, Xanthan Gum, Ethylhexylglycerin, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Oil, Pyrus Malus (Apple) Fruit Extract, Carica Papaya (Papaya) Leaf Extract, Viola Tricolor (Wild Pansy) Extract, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Flower Extract, Centaurea Cyanus (Cornflower) Flower Extract, Disodium EDTA
This mask contains 20 ml (0.67 oz) and has a very tart lemon scent, kind of like the rind of a lemon.
The mask is a good size and fits pretty well. I did need to widen the mouth and eye holes, but apart from that, it’s a good fit.
Recommended use is after washing the face, apply toner to tidy up skin texture. Take out the mask and place it on while aligning it with the contour of the face. Remove the mask after 10-20 minutes and gently pat it to promote the absorption of residue into the skin. After using, as mentioned before, this mask does have a noticeable lemon rind/peel kind of scent and it can definitely be an irritant. There are also a few irritants in the ingredient list to watch out for, I'd also recommend wearing sunscreen if you're going to wear this before going out during the day. The effects of the mask are quite beneficial however if you have dull skin or a lot of dark spots on your skin that you'd like to brighten as this is instantly brightening and skin toning. It's also very soothing and hydrating and the effects are long-lasting using this consistently would definitely continue to brighten the skin. Please note, this could be a problem for sensitive skin as I believe you could end up with some noticeable irritation. I'd recommend this to anyone with dull skin, hyperpigmentation, and dark spots.
What I like: this mask smells great and it's very comfortable, it's also nice and brightening and hydrating so it doesn't feel drying at all. It's also very refreshing and smooths out the skin nicely. What I don't like: the scent is likely going to irritate the skin and there are a couple of irritants in the ingredient list. Due to that, it's really not the best for sensitive skin.
Pros:
Brightening
Hydrating
Smooths skin
Good for hyperpigmentation
Smells wonderful
Long-lasting effects
Cons:
Fragrance
Irritants
Not really sensitive skin friendly
Would I buy again?
Yes
Rating: 7.5/10

There is something so mesmerizing about a big crackling fire. Nerapora or chachor (also called Holika Dahan) is a ritual on the day before Holi. The burning fire symbolizes burning of all negativity and evil. It has always fascinated me. We, the children of our locality used to bring old newspapers and leaves and try to build a bigger fire everytime it seemed like the fire would die. I would watch the tendrils of smoke and embers make their way skywards. I used to so drawn to dancing flames.

I was having a discussion with my sister earlier, so out of all your ocs, which ones would you take to a corn maze?
Hmm. I can answer this one of two ways. Who would actually get us through a corn maze, and who would be the least scary to be stuck in the middle of nowhere with lmao.
For those who would actually do the maze, I think Sabrael or Holika. Both strategic and could make sure we don't get lost.
As for those who would be just fun to go with, I'd say Asulah and Kaelon! Getting lost is half the fun and it would just be nice and light-hearted.
(Sorry, Si. He'd get far too frustrated way too easily)

Contour
The Saem Cover Tip Perfection Concealer (Contour Beige) - This is,,, kinda close to my skintone and warm leaning so I doubt this will be a good one and done contour but would be a nice option if I need a darker concealer/baase for contour!
Too Cool For School Artclass By Rodin Shading (#01 Classic) - Don't get this, get the second one #02 Modern instead. This technically isn't bad for contour per say but it's noticeably warm toned which is not what you want for mimicking shadows on the face. A fine bronzer maybe. The pan fell out but the product itself was fine and I could pop it back in so kinda weird but nothing alarming.
Focallure Moulding Highlight Contouring/Highlighter Sculpt Makeup Palette (#1 Matte Cool) - Finally a cool(er) toned powder contour for my collection. It comes with a matte highlighter too!!
Focallure 3D Shaping Duo Lying Silkworm Gel Eyeliner/Under Eye Make Up (E01 Innocent Big Eyes) - Kinda hard to blend out, a tad waxy and requires some amount of pressure to use but the microtip is useful for getting into the creases of your eyes and more precise placement.
Holika Holika Holi Pop Double Eyelid Liner (Intense) - A liquid brush tip liner. The intense version is still pretty sheer so it's good for drawing on aegyo sal on my skin.
Qibest Multitasking Cosmetic Stick (#03 Contour Stick) - Awkward to use around the nose but there are ways around it. A bit light on its own for me but the tone is right. I know I've described a lot of products as smooth and creamy but like. It is. Doesn't feel like I'm dragging it across my skin and blends out nicely. I did open it too hard at first so the packaging is not the highest of quality but you can snap it back together and pretend nothing happened.
2023 Makeup Collection
Do I wear a full face of makeup on a regular basis? No. Do I still have a lot of makeup? Yes. Let me have my collections of trinkets, very little things bring me joy nowadays
The worst of my impulse purchases have arrived so I think this is a good time to round up the products and see what I have, what I like, what I don't like, what I've been neglecting, etc. I don't want to do project pan since I only leave the house like two or three times a week (but only for like. Things that don't matter. Who's getting ready to go to the fucking supermarket for 15 minutes) so it would just be me setting myself up for disappointment and that's no fun. How about this; I'll set some small, realistic goals for the year for some products and we'll see what happens. Swatches later maybe
Face Primers
Kose Suncut Water in UV Protect Essence SPF 50+ PA++++ - Yes this is technically a sunscreen but it also doubles as a makeup primer! This is the second primer sunscreen hybrid I've used (the first being Kao Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence which I also like and feels similar to this one). It's no longer available on YesStyle, which is where I get the majority of k and j beauty products, so that kind of sucks but I like trying out new products anyways. It feels hydrating but not heavy and absorbs into the skin not immediately but like. After a reasonable amount of time considering I slather a good amount of this all over my face and neck. No problems with laying foundation over it, no strong fragrance, no whitecast, the color isn't the stark white nightmare from my childhood, and while it doesn't completely smooth out my problem areas like the T zone or my cheeks (to be fair that's where all my large pores and acne are), it leaves the rest of my skin nice. This is my only sunscreen so obviously I'm going to use it until I either run out or it goes bad.
Milk Makeup Blur Stick - Hm. I used to really love this. It's easy to apply, glides smoothly, and leaves a nice velvet finish. Maybe there's a layer of grease that's built up over time (I should,,,, sanitize it regardless let's be honest) but I find it pilling in the more dehydrated nooks and crannies of my nose and over the textured parts of my skin. It's fine if I apply it on a flat and clear section but my acne is not taking it well. Can't say I recommend it if your face is a slice of pepperoni pizza like mine, but I will still be keeping it only to use on the outside of my face as I'm an incredibly oily and sweaty person and I find this keeps unwanted moisture from seeping out. It doesn't feel drying on the skin but it does feel dry so let's hope I can avoid two summers ago when my makeup melted off my face and sweat dripped from my hair down my forehead making it look like I just got out of the water. I was taking a leisurely walk downtown. I found the full size at a Marshall's for much cheaper so if you're paying full price for this you are an absolute clown. I did find it a couple of years ago so I doubt there's still any more left (plus it seems like Milk is paying more attention to their other primers) but at the very least, don't get the full size if you're a casual makeup wearer. Or do whatever you want I'm not your mom. I want to flatten the initial mound of product completely and start having to twist it up since holy shit I've had this since the 10th grade
Touch in Sol No Poreblem Primer - Oh my god this is my favorite primer so far. It does what the Milk used to do for me before it decided flaky skin was the look and lays beautifully over my large pores, acne, and weird patch on the side of my nose that for some reason decided to be a problem one day. I don't think acne scarring to blame but who knows at this point. It's more hydrating and a thinner consistency than the blur stick and doesn't have that balmy feel as it's a liquid, my nose looks and feels fine with it under foundation and powder, 10/10 I will use this until it's dead. I am not even rating these that's how you know I love this. If you see this at a Marshall's turn the other eye and leave that shit for me. There's a green one for redness I was also going to buy but decided against it specifically because the line was too long lol.
The Face Shop Air Cotton Makeup Base SPF30 PA++ (#01 Mint) - I got this for my "boy" makeup days where I want to look perfected but not actually done up. Haven't gotten around to using it since I got it pretty recently and been on a full color correcting kick nowadays. But sometimes I want to be a "yeah I have blemishes, what of it" kind of girl but also do I need to look like Rudolph the red nosed reindeer meeting up to gossip with my friend group???? No.
