I was having a discussion with my sister earlier, so out of all your ocs, which ones would you take to a corn maze?
Hmm. I can answer this one of two ways. Who would actually get us through a corn maze, and who would be the least scary to be stuck in the middle of nowhere with lmao.
For those who would actually do the maze, I think Sabrael or Holika. Both strategic and could make sure we don't get lost.
As for those who would be just fun to go with, I'd say Asulah and Kaelon! Getting lost is half the fun and it would just be nice and light-hearted.
(Sorry, Si. He'd get far too frustrated way too easily)

Star Trek Prodigy fully defined the Prime Directive
By Ames
Tumblr media
Dang, what doesn’t Star Trek: Prodigy do? A Star to Steer Her By just released our top-level overview of season one of the Paramount / Nickelodeon cartoon for kids, and spoilers abound. The biggest spoiler of which: We LOVED it!!!
We’re generally critical of a lot of the (mis)adventures in new Trek (shocking), so it is refreshing to see a season-long storyline that is simple enough for children yet still engaging, full of characters who develop interestingly and are a joy to watch. Prodigy does its best when it embraces what Star Trek originally set out to do: to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations, to boldly go where no one has gone before. All things fully reflected in the need for the Prime Directive.
We recently covered how Trek captains break the Prime Directive all the time, and one of the things even the show seems unclear on a lot of the time is what our famous General Order 1 means in the first place. We even cited the Prodigy episode “All the World’s a Stage” as an interesting interpretation of Roddenberry’s first rule. And we realized, in the episode “First Con-tact,” the CGI children’s show has fully defined the Prime Directive for us!
Here’s a flipped screenshot:
Tumblr media
The Prime Directive
If it’s a little hard to read, here’s the full text:
General Orders and Regulations
GENERAL ORDER 1
• Section 1:
Starfleet crew will obey the following with any civilization that has not achieved a commensurate level of technological and/or societal development as described in Appendix 1.
a) No identification of self or mission.
b) No interference with the social, cultural, or technological development of said planet.
c) No references to space, other worlds, or advanced civilizations.
d) The exception to this is if said society has already been exposed to concept, herein. However, in that instance, section 2 applies.
• Section 2:
If said species has achieved the commensurate level of technological and/or societal development as described in Appendix 1, or has been exposed to the concepts listed in section 1, no Starfleet crew person will engage with said society or species without first gathering extensive information on the specific traditions, laws, and culture of that species civilization.
Then Starfleet crew will obey the following:
a) If engaged with diplomatic relations with said culture, will stay within the confines of culture's restrictions.
b) No interference with the social development of said planet.
So it’s official!
The Prime Directive is for both noncontacted people and everyone else. More primitive people just have some more specific rules. But you’re still not supposed to tell postwarp species like, say, the Kaelon how to go about their lives or conclusions thereof (TNG: “Half a Life”). Thank you, hologram Janeway!
Go boldly!
And watch Star Trek: Prodigy!

Season 4 Episode 22 Half a Life
Lwaxana Troi visits the Enterprise once again, only to this time she comes at the same time as Dr. Timicin a resident of Kaelon II. He is conducting research with the aid of the Federation in an attempt to restart the sun of his home world using the Enterprise's photon torpedoes as a jump start. Normally played off as a nuisance, Lwaxana's advances are slow but well received as the two build a rapport with each other. This all changes when Timicin's theory is put to the test and temporarily causes its intended effect before the star explodes from the torpedoes.
Rather than try again with the research he has, Timicin elects to head back to his home planet. Investigation from Lwaxana reveals the custom on the planet known as "Resolution" where Kaelonians voluntarily kill themselves when they reach the age of 60. She is furious at this, doing everything she can to try and stop it. Returning to Timicin she makes a passionate argument and manages to convince him through love and research that he should persist. His asylum aboard the Enterprise is met with hostility from Kaelon II, causing them to send warships to the Enterprise to encourage the doctor's release. When his own daughter shows up and appeals to him to carry out the "Resolution" Timicin folds underneath the pressure, deciding he cannot be the one to break the custom. Realizing she cannot convince him otherwise, Lwaxana instead decides to participate in his "Resolution" as one of his loved ones.
This episode has a somber ending having a lot to say about acts done because of tradition. It is easy to get angry and upset and take Lwaxana's side in the argument. She makes two compelling cases bringing up her own people's old tradition where women kept small animals in wigs they wore and then also questions whether the star he is trying to revive should also not die because it naturally comes to an end. Timicin is placed under a lot of stress needing to also face his own daughter despairing for him not ending his days with her and her family. Even if I may not fully agree with Timicin's ultimate choice I can understand why he made it under the pressure.
It is black and white when we talk about things in terms of death, of course Timicin had the vitality and wherewithal to keep going, and there are many flaws in the argument of 60 as a cutoff. But it is why Picard does not intercede when Lwaxana insists. It is in the Prime Directive, making the choice for other species becomes the actions of a group interested in interference and making moral decisions for large planets and people. On the other hand, Lwaxana in her passions has a point. Should Timicin have just offed himself when he could have contributed more. What was he to do when all of his research and further studies was being rejected because of his refusal to adhere to Kaelon II's customs?

My husband is a sea lion?!
Driving on the rocky road in your quaint little coastal town of a place called Seaford, rolling hills swooshing by and the soothing sound of crashing waves could be heard as your carry on your drive. Whistling a soft tone to the music you had on shuffle glancing over at the expensive bags you were carrying home. Some moments fidgeting the shiny rock on your finger not containing the smile that broke through. Truthfully, today was the mark of your second anniversary with your husband ,Kaelan.
Remembering like it was yesterday, a dark night of crying on the bench for getting stood up for the upteenth time. Only getting asked out as a dare because you were deemed the “chubby“ or “fat“ girl. You never let it get to you before always wearing the curves and shape of your body with pride and never letting it dampen her spirit. But tonight you had felt that the guy this time was different. “hi, pretty mamas, whats a woman like you doing by herself?“ there he stood at 6’5 in a gray track suit with shaggy hair in his face. He slides onto the bench next to you after not getting a response.
“you know I should call the police?“ he lets out a long whistle looking over for your eyes to meet on directly. Watching you look at gim confusingly,“ because you stole my heart.“ letting out a snort and soft giggle at his corny joke. He smiles proudly, “if you give me your number i can promise to make that smile never falter.“ and the memory fades as you pull into the driveway.
Gathering the various of bags from
the floor of the passenger side and enter the cozy cottage. Closing the door you noticed an unusual silence that hung in the air. Curiosity mingled with concern, as you call out softly for kaelan only to have your heart drop at the sight of his abandoned clothes in the hallway. Breaths turning heavy and emotions raging wild. Slowly turning to anger as you dig through the hallway closet and find a baseball bat. Creeping to the door you let it creak as you inch it open ready to see thw sightnof another woman in your bed accompaning your husband. Yet nothing laid there but rose petals in shape of a heart and a gift bag. Inside was a jewlery box containing a necklace. Making your heart flutter. The sound of water splashing broke you out of your heartfilled trance. Seeing the bathroom door a jared. Rushing toward the bathroom dragging behind the baseball bat in your loose grip. Not expecting a scream to escape her body.
There, you find sitting in the bathtub a sea lion splashung water on its skin happily and merrily until it heard your scream making it use ita fins to cover its body with haste. Seeing yourndeath grip on your wooden weapon swinging it at him. “wait,y/n-“ it jumps out the tub as you scream louder at it being able to speak the human language. It slips and slides on the bathroom floor dodging you making you become a heaving and huffing mess. Before watching you in fear watching the scene of slipping occuring in front of it.
Groaning in pain you feel the back of your head to make sure no bleeding occurred. Only to feel a pillow placed underneathed you and the same ocean critter standing before you as its black doe eyes look upon your person in worry . heart racing as you came to a startling realization. Your husband, the man yoh had adored for years, was not who you thought he was. He was a sea lion, hidden beneath a human guise, waiting for the touch of water to reveal his true nature.
“kaelon?“ she asked after her revelation.
The critter nods its head and the feeling of
Confusion and disbelief washed over like the waves crashing against the shore behind the house . How could this be? How had you never noticed? Questions flooded your mind, and a mix of emotions swirled within ypu. But amidst the shock, an unexpected warmth filled her heart.
When you gazed into the sea lion's eyes, you witness fear, love ,and vulnerability. You saw the same soul you had fallen in love with, now wrapped in a different skin. And in that moment, you couldn’t speak a word Or question.
An:// im going to make a chapter page and banner for it later on <3 but how do we like it so far? It’s my first story like this 🥹🙏🏾

𝐌𝐔𝐋𝐓𝐈𝐌𝐔𝐒𝐄 𝐐𝐔𝐄𝐒𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐍𝐀𝐈𝐑𝐄
RULES:Answer the questions with the Muses that would best fit the answers. Bonus if you give details why.
1) Rank your softest Muse and your toughest Muse. (Personality-wise) : My softest is hands down Asulah. I don't even know how she qualifies to be a demon. She's had a rough upbringing but is consistently optimistic and supportive of her big brother and genuinely loves her family, despite them not treating her the best. The toughest is probably Yevgeny? He doesn't really let things get to him and emotional attachment is something he really doesn't worry about. He's determined to meet his goals, no matter who he has to screw over or what he has to do.
2) Which Muse would blow through $1000 quickly? : Any of my royals, but especially Kasadya. She's got the double whammy of being a princess and a Demon of Avarice. So 1k is like pocket change to her. She's going out with her friends and treating them to drinks. Either that, or she's gonna spend it splurging on her girlfriend Ace.
3) Do any of them have nicknames? Is there a meaning behind them? : Pretty much all of them have nicknames. The most significant are probably Si and Ozzie's. Sidonai prefers to have people call him "Si" as a nickname, rather than "Nai." It was a nickname his mother gave him and the only people who are allowed to use it are family members and a select few close friends. Ozzie's nickname is significant because well...Ozzie is his nickname. He actually doesn't know his full name, and his father has no intentions of revealing it, mostly for his safety. His full name is Asmodai, named after his birth father's true name.
4) Are any of them up-to-speed on the latest trends? Anyone more old school? : My younger characters perhaps? Or ones who have died more recently. Probably Terrance? Since he lives on Gaia and amongst humans. But most of my demons are pretty ancient, old school beings, so they're more stuck in their ways.
5) Who has the best relationship with their siblings? : Si and Ace, but only with them. Si has a rough relationship with the others. Other than them, it's probably the Mezoran triplets, Kasadya, Uphir, and Caym, or the Brakhavan princes, Mihr and Sytry.
6) Karaoke night! Who is likely to grab the mic first and bust out a tune? : Ngl this sounds like something a very drunk Tamiel would do. Very drunk Tamiel and a very drunk Si.
7) Who is least likely to enter a beauty pageant/model? : Terrance. Despite actually being quite handsome, he would find it really superficial and very obnoxious.
8) If your Muses visited a haunted house where actors scare you, who would panic and who would be unfazed? : Si talks a big game about being tough, but he would probably freak out. So would poor Kaelon. The one who is the most unfazed is Sabrael. She's the Angel Slayer. Some guy jumping out at her with a fake chainsaw isn't gonna scare her.
9) Are any of your Muses particular about taking certain modes of transportation? : Not really, no. Sathanus is keen on using her raven-drawn carriages, as it allows her to travel within Brakhava's shadows more easily, but other than that, no one really travels much.
10) Share a little-known fact about any Muse : Sidonai has a pair of retainers. One is the daughter of a nobleman, named Carmine, who Si chose because she bears a striking resemblance to his ex. The second is Azure Leclair, a former courtesan that Si used to frequent.

Indiana's Football Running Back, Trent Howland, Declares Intentions to Transfer Prior to Spring Game
Tumblr media
Indiana football's running back, Trent Howland, is poised to re-enter the transfer portal this spring as the window for football transfers opens on April 16.
As the Hoosiers navigate through their remaining camp sessions, which include three practices along with a closed scrimmage on Saturday and an exhibition at Memorial Stadium on Thursday night, Howland's decision adds another layer of intrigue to the team's dynamics.
Howland initially entered the transfer portal following former coach Tom Allen's departure, and he verbally committed to Minnesota. However, he later opted to withdraw his name from the portal. Last season, Howland showcased his talent by leading the Hoosiers with 354 yards on the ground, averaging 4.7 yards per carry, and scoring two touchdowns.
With Howland's departure, Indiana's running back room now comprises six scholarship players, including four transfers and incoming freshman Khobie Martin. David Holloman stands as the sole returning player from last year's roster in the room.
The team is likely to look towards new faces to fill the void left by Howland. James Madison's running back Kaelon Black, who topped the Dukes' rushing chart with 637 yards last season, and Wake Forest's Justice Ellison, who has consistently surpassed 500 rushing yards over the last three seasons, are expected to play significant roles in the offense.
Coach Curt Cignetti emphasized his strategy of distributing consistent reps among three running backs during the season, indicating a potential shift in the team's approach with Howland's departure.

I think it represents something on the thematic level - It's about accomplishing something beautiful and lasting, but not being able to see the response yourself.
Which ties in with both the sphere data that Discovery gets, that the sphere made this effort to give these young entities its collected and accumulated knowledge without knowing what would be done with it, how Control would pervert that knowledge into something dangerous, despite the good intentions held by the sphere entity in giving this knowledge away, AND how Discovery ultimately has to leave the 23rd century and jump to the far future, where Control is no longer a threat and the sphere data can exist without being a threat.
To borrow a quote, it's planting seeds in a garden you never get to see - the prima donna never sees how her aria moves the audience, how it makes them respond, she can only give this effort and hope that it will mean something.
Probably also ties in with how they were showing Stamets grieving for Culber, in that it's not until Culber died that Stamets saw the beauty in the art that his lover did, missing the beauty of the performance until his own metaphorical prima donna died.
Also, on a simpler level... Alien cultures do things differently. I mean, how many of our human activities involve an insane level of preparation and work and effort for like three minutes of payoff? Payoff that may not even come because of a physical mishap that comes from that insane work you put in - how many athletes have had their career brought to a screeching halt because of a broken bone at the wrong time and place? A lifetime of work that is ended abruptly by chance and misfortune. Here, the Kasseelians put that focus into their art and song, rather than physical sport, and go out on their terms - they know it's coming, they know what they'll do when the accomplish their goal, and they still make the choice to immortalize their art.
I mean, we have the Kaelons kill themselves arbitrarily kill themselves at age sixty so as to spare their families the pain of their aging, and we have the Klingons engaging in casual duels to the death with such frequency that you can disrupt an official meeting of the High Council with one and they usually just go "sure, whatever." Or in a similar vein, the Trill willingly give themselves to a slug creature so it can experience their lives, to the point that Ezri was joined to Dax rather than letting the symbiont die, BECAUSE of the high value the symbionts receive in Trill society.
If there's one standard in Star Trek, it's that aliens have different standards and attitudes towards things.
Yeah, sure, sometimes fanon is worse and sometimes canon is just so fucking dumb you just look at it and go "no thank you <3"
Today I was thinking about Kasseelian opera. Season one of Star Trek: Discovery uses Kasseelian opera as an running element in Hugh and Paul's love story - they met because of it, for instance. It's also heard twice, and and it's a beautiful piece music.
Then we learn in season two of Star Trek: Discovery a little more about Kasseelian opera. At the end of the opera, the prima donna commits ritual suicide.
I've elected to ignore this as it's just... Why. Why did the DISCO writers think that was a good idea?

kaelon + ⚡️ have you ever felt wrong for trusting your instincts?
Pausing to ponder over his response. the male lifted his chocolate orbs toward the ceiling tiles and let out a long sigh. “Hm.” He slightly pursed his lips before grazing his tongue over the pair and shrugging. “Honestly, nah. I feel like everything happens for a reason and like, I’ve always been told to trust my gut so I take that with me everyday and just, you know, try to survive.”

Send “📂“ for a random yet completely useless headcanon I have
1.) Sidonai is banned from cooking in the palace kitchens. He's known for starting fires.
2.) When Si was a kid, he'd write letters to his hundreds of thousands of siblings he'd never met. Kaelon felt so bad because he was so eager, so for a few months, she would pretend to write back as his lost siblings.
3.) Sidonai singlehandedly wrecked a scientific breakthrough out of pure spite. Asmodeus and Beelzebub came to a brief truce in order to crossbreed Beel's prized wyvern with Asmo's oldest dragon, Hashmedai. At the time Assmo, wouldn't let Si's sister Ace near the dragons, so Si decided to steal one of Hashmedai's eggs for her. He had zero clue that he gifted his sister the only known wyvern-dragon hybrid Sheol had ever known. By the time the egg was found, it had hatched and the baby (now called Buttons) had already imprinted on the princess.
