Hellooo <3 first of all, I loved the game, the designs of the backgrounds and Mychael, everything is very cute, I'm glad to have found this game ^^ I have a question, and that is if Mychael has blue blood, his heart is also blue. that same color? Yep! Whatever fleshy inner part of him would be blue; it's also the reason he has a blue tongue! 💙

FOTD #083 : viscid black earth tongue! (glutinoglossum glutinosum)

the viscid black earth tongue (or glutinous earthtongue) is a saprophytic fungus in the family geoglossaceae. it often grows among moss or in grassy areas :-) it is quite common in the northern hemisphere !!

the big question : can i bite it?? sure - it's edible, but considered "not worth eating". it has been said to be delicious when stewed<3

g. glutinosum description :

"the smooth, nearly black, club-shaped fruitbodies grow to heights ranging from 1.5 to 5 cm (0.6 to 2.0 in). the head is up to 0.7 cm (0.3 in) long, & the stipes are sticky."

Amphibiuary day 19: Underrated!

🐍 Tsuchinoko real… TWO. This time a fat snake (based on a blue tongue skink) to go along with the fat cat, so two designs to send out for this month's sticker club! It comes with a delicious assortment of enoki, shiitake, and matsutake mushrooms for you to forage while you go tsuchinoko hunting in the mountains.

Mushroom of the day:

Cat’s tongue/Pseudohydnum gelatinosum

Other names: tooth jelly fungus, false hedgehog mushroom, and white jelly mushroom

Geographic location: potentially global; growing location: dead conifer trunk logs, and stumps

Characteristics: small translucent gelatinous, in tongue shaped. This mushroom has tiny teeth on the other side of the cap that feels like a tongue of a cat.

if you ever make soup from scratch and you sit down and have a fresh bowl and you think to yourself "this is good and flavourful but it's just missing a liiittle something" that's the devil talking to you. let the flavours marinate overnight and taste it again the next day, it'll be great. if it's still missing something then try adding a little salt to your bowl. but do NOT mess with a finished soup.

i saw a list today of UK fungi in need of protection and some of the names are so beautifully whimsical and strange. the pretender. sweet greyling. violet crowncup. earth-tongue. medusa brittlestem. beautiful bonnet. willow gloves. rosy woodwax. i'm in love with all of them. i'm stealing them for writing inspiration.

FOTD #110 : beefsteak polypore! (fistulina hepatica)

the beefsteak polypore (also poor man’s steak, ox tongue, or tongue mushroom) is a bracket fungus in the family fistulinaceae. it can be found in europe, north america, australia, north africa & southern africa :-)

the big question : can i bite it?? yes !! it is edible when young, but may require long cooking.

f. hepatica description :

"the cap is 7–30 cm wide & 2–6 cm thick. is shape resembles a large tongue, & it is rough-surfaced with a reddish-brown colour."

With the mastermind being one of the big mysteries Danganronpa presents we don’t really meet Junko until the end of the game, despite a Junko being in the starting cast.

The danger of introducing an antagonist at the very end of the game is that the lack of time to build them up might lead to an unmemorable or uninteresting character

Junko has three things working for her.

The A Junko we met wasn’t her but Junko did write the script so we know how Junko probably would have acted if she had been among the other students.

She still has a huge voice in the plot through her mascot Monokuma.

And when Junko actually appears in person she gleefully bursts onto the scene and makes a meal of the scenery.

In a game full of memorable quirky characters, she makes a good go at being the most memorable and quirky despite having much less time to make an impression.

She’s a lot. She’s so much.
