Theory: 2 time lines
Great is dying and right before knocked unconscious learns the truth from Tyme. So now while in cardiac arrest he relives the past and he is changing his decisions to support Tyme's mission and also save lives of other people he just let passively die. He realizes how passive he was and if he had been more aware and acted he could not only save Tyme but others involved that were connected to Tyme getting hurt.
Everything we see from Tonkla is the reality that has already happened when Great did not act.

This show ended like two months ago, but I still cry laughing at Win's boss saying he doesn't understand how Ton Kla learned all the details of his brother's case while he stands there looking dumb as hell like🧍🧍🧍. It's right up there to me with him giving the order to raid Ton Kla's house while standing outside like he ain't have a key since he was whole ass LIVING in that house and all up in that man.
Truly Win was the most "things just keep happening around me, I don't know why" character of all time.

Random Thoughts about 4Minutes EP 4:
You know what, sometimes I wonder if I'm not too distracted because for two seconds I was surprised to see that Dome is Ton Kla's brother. It was obvious from the start!
However it was great that it was truly revealed at the end of the episode 4 after the sweetness of Great and Tyme making love. I guess it's interesting that Ton Kla is the second character who's able to see the parallel universe overlapping with his own (or the other timeline even if I prefer the idea of parallel universe).
Ton Kla is such an interesting character. I never thought he would be that important to the story. Fuaiz is killing it with this character. I already liked him in DFF and here again he is impressive. I wonder how Ton Kla will manage his relationship with Korn and Win. It can't end well...
I decided I should stop trying to make sense of the story or guessing what is going to happen because I feel like I never get the right answer. It's so funny how I'm always getting it wrong. This time I'll try to just wait and see.
I also can't wait for the woman who experienced NDE to meet Great. They met in this weird place, during these 4 minutes and I want to know what impact it's going to be for them. There are too many questions and so little answers yet.
I'm not complaining. It's fun to imagine what is going to happen and to find a link between everything we've seen so far. Even if I'm not so great at guessing.

i honestly wouldn’t have minded an ending where tyme and great died to really make it a tragedy but i do get that the 4 minutes experience connected them which is why they’re able to overcome everything and have a relationship in real time

I’ve seen a few people complain that 4 Minutes hasn’t been showing lube/condoms/prep since episode 1 and I’m like… oh did we all not understand that it’s shorthand? They very conspicuously showed lube and condom usage in the first sex scene, so we know and they know we know that they know the mechanics of gay sex. It’s been established, on screen, that these characters know about and use condoms and lube to have anal sex. Because they took the time to show me this in the first episode, I can reasonably assume lube, condoms, and prep are standard with all anal sex scenes going forward (with the exception of Ton Kla and his obsession with getting rawed, and his rough wallfuck session with Win, but that’s the exception, not the rule). It doesn’t bug me that they don’t show it every time, just like it doesn’t bother me that they don’t show characters walking through the front door of every building they need to be in. Sex scenes are complicated enough to film. I don’t mind a cut corner here or there when they’ve already put in the work to show they know what they’re doing at the very start

4 MINUTES – WILD ASS THEORY INCOMING
Tumblr media
OK, there are so many theories about 4 Minutes floating around (including a couple of my own already out there). And now I'm adding another one to the mix, just for good measure. 🤣
But I really think there's something in this. Please bear with me...
This train of thought was sparked by the ending of Ep.4, when we saw Dome recovering fully in the hospital, cheerfully taking a taxi back home, and then (when he arrived) calling out to Ton Kla, who heard him.
But Dome then disappeared. And we were shown his cremation ashes instead.
OK listen, hear me out.
That was Dome all right, but it was his ghost that we saw returning home from the hospital, wearing white and blissfully unaware that he was already dead.
I think what 4 Minutes has been showing us thus far is an interplay, not so much of different timelines, but rather the different experiences of the living, the dead and those still in the Four-Minute Zone (who are caught between these two worlds in the four minutes from corporeal death to cessation of brain activity).
And we're not always being shown their experiences in chronological order, hence the confusing storylines for different characters that don't quite gel with each other's.
Anyway, that's why they're making such a big deal about the black and white:
Tumblr media
When we see characters wearing white (as Dome was in his happy Ep.4 taxi ride home) there's a high chance that they're actually ghosts, re-living past experiences and re-visiting the what-ifs in their past lives had they chosen their paths (or had their paths been chosen for them) differently.
They don't know they're dead; they just know that reality has changed into a multi-pronged set of choices that they get to re-visit.
The people in black are most likely those who are in the Four-Minute Zone between life and death. And the people in normal clothing (prints, other colors) are those still in the realm of the living.
The ghosts (an idea also suggested by the 13:13 on Manee's hospital clock in Ep.1, see this write-up linked here) aren't usually visible in the real world, but they are visible to those in the Four-Minute Zone and can interact with them.
This is supported by Den's interviewee in Ep.1, who said she was surrounded by people in white during her own experience of consciousness after cardiac arrest.
As the ghosts aren't aware that they're dead, everything seems real enough to them. But then they also get to visit different realities and different outcomes (including being thrust four minutes back into the past to re-do things – and you probably know where this is going).
OK, so this also means (sadly) that:
Great is already dead (and so is his mom) – Great is always in white, and his mom was too at their Ep.5 shootout. The re-living past experiences and experimenting with different outcomes is something the ghosts get to do, and we see Great doing this all the time in 4 Minutes.
Korn is sometimes in white – this is his ghost re-living experiences after he was killed by Ton Kla (c'mon, you know death by Ton Kla was always going to be on the cards for him). He's also sometimes in black – that would be him when he was in the Four-Minute Zone, prior to his death and entry into the spirit world.
Lukwa is already dead; she's been recounting her experiences with the four-minute rewind to Den. This is also why she could meet Great in the Four-Minute Waiting Room for spirits (while both were dressed in white, BTW).
Win is also dead; when he went to stay with Ton Kla to "protect" him in Ep.4 (who does that?) he was wearing white, and this was probably just his ghost seeking out Ton Kla, as he did when he was still alive. Win was also in black in a couple of scenes, which were probably him re-living past memories in the Four-Minute Zone. I guess he really was killed by Ton Kla.
Tyme is still in the Four-Minute Zone, re-treading his tracks, and interacting with Great in spirit. Tyme is probably going to get sent back (which is what the corridor and the light-filled doorway of the trailer is signaling) while Great cannot, because he's already passed into the spirit realm. So it's Tyme who's using his four minutes to review his life up until the moment he was shot, and also to interact with Great one last time. And that four-minute countdown Great keeps seeing is simply a marker of the interlude that he gets to spend with Tyme before they are separated again.
Sweet-faced Ton Kla ("I've seen many murders" – girl, what were you doing at the devil's sacrament?) is a serial killer of some sort, and he probably killed Title and Win, just as he did his cat. And Korn is in his sights as well.
Ton Kla is one of the few living souls who can sense the dead (he sensed Dome's ghost in Ep.4, and he also saw the ghost of his dead black cat in Ep.1). So it's possible he was actually humping Win's ghost in Ep.4 (though I'd rather think it was just Win's ghost re-imagining another scenario).
Den is probably another human soul (unless he's also dead) who can not only sense the departed but also interact with them – his nonplussed reaction to Lukwa when she came in for an interview in Ep.1 wasn't just because of her beauty (she is so pretty isn't she? I have a bit of a crush going on) but because he could also tell she was a ghost, not a living human.
There you go. Have I taken it too far with my theories again? I'm hoping against hope that I'm wrong, and that Great and Tyme will have a happy ending after all.
But I'm not counting on it... 😥
P.S. This may be just a coincidence, but the broadcast schedule of 4 Minutes (26 July 2024 to 13 September 2024) very neatly encapsulates the Thai-Chinese Ghost Festival (wan saat jeen/ันสารทจีน) that runs during the seventh lunar month from 4 August to 2 September this year. In Chinese belief, ghosts are given free rein to roam the world of the living throughout this month, and I'm thinking that (if my theory holds true) 4 Minutes must have timed its release to coincide specifically for the additional spook factor. 😵
P.P.S. There are other visual and cultural hints embedded within 4 Minutes that align with the theory above – my write-up is linked here, if you'd like to read more:

Lin Kuei trio (Childhood fanfic drabble)
Kuai Liang and Bi-Han attempt to build a birdhouse (because why not), Tomas is there too just being himself. The three having a little bonding session, basically.
Mostly just straight up humour/brotherly bonding. Might end up as something more (aka in my AO3 childhood Lin Kuei series), might not- enjoy regardless! Tons of fun to write.
//
“You’re doing that wrong.”
Bi-Han huffed, rolling his eyes. “Shut up.”
“I’m just saying,” Kuai Liang shrugged, the instructions held close to his face as he squinted at the fine print. His finger dragged dramatically along each word, “You skipped step six.” He tapped the paper for exaggeration, “Very important step, you know.”
“I don’t care,”
Kuai scoffed. “Rude.”
Wispy, grey curls appeared in Bi-Han’s peripheral vision, a small, pale face peering around his shoulder, curiously gauging the mess around him. “What doing?”
“Hey Tomas. We’re making a birdhouse,” Kuai Liang chuckled, glancing up from the paper, “Or at least, we’re trying to.”
“I’m trying to.” Bi-Han corrected, “You’re just holding the instructions.”
“That’s a form of helping, if you weren’t aware.”
Tomas tilted his head, listening to his brothers bicker intently. He was still getting used to Chinese, and every word seemed to take extra effort as his little mind worked to translate them to and from Czech, his native tongue. “Can I… uhm…” His brows knitted in concentration, his little face scrunching up as he searched for the right words. “Can I watch?”
Kuai Liang’s face softened with a warm smile, and he patted the spot next to him on the floor. “Very good, Tomas.” He encouraged, “Yes, you can watch.”
Tomas beamed at the praise, his small chest puffing up with obvious pride. His socked feet shuffled quickly over as he plopped down next to Kuai, his big eyes fixed on the project. The birdhouse pieces were scattered across the floor in various stages of assembly- some nailed together, while others still lay semi assembled or straight up abandoned, still waiting for their turn to even be looked at. It was utter chaos.
“Hand me the hammer, someone,” Bi-Han said, his gaze entirely focused on choosing the right nail from a small box resting on his thigh. His free hand reached out blindly, waiting. “Please.”
“Ham-mer,” Tomas repeated, testing the new word on his tongue. “Hammer. What hammer?”
Kuai Liang nudged him gently with his elbow, nodding toward the tool resting near Tomas’ side. “That’s a hammer.”
“Oh.” Tomas reached for the tool, the hammer looking comically oversized in his small hands as he heaved it up by the handle. “Kladivo,” he said, handing it over to Bi-Han with both hands. “Here you go,” he added, each word carefully pronounced.
“Kleu-deevo.” Kuai Liang repeated, furrowing his brow in concentration as he tried to mimic the word. “Kle-Kleu.. Kla…? Devo. Divou?”
“Thank you, Tomas,” Bi-Han said, taking the hammer from the boy with ease. A faint, rare smile tugged at his lips. “Your Chinese is coming along very well,” he added, curling an amused brow at Kuai Liang, who was still struggling with the pronunciation of the fairly simple (in his mind, at least) Czech word. “Unlike Kuai Liang’s Czech, apparently.”
Tomas giggled at the comment, patting Kuai Liang’s knee in sympathy, offering an encouraging smile up at his big brother. “Really close! You can do it!”
Bi-Han snorted, amused by the scene, which only made Kuai shoot him a glare that, if it could, would definitely burn holes right through him. His brother’s chocolate-brown eyes narrowed, then suddenly dropped to Bi-Han’s lap, attention back to the birdhouse in progress. Then, a slow, smug grin spread across his face as he noticed something.
“You put that piece upside-down,” Kuai pointed out with a triumphant grin, turning the instructions around so Bi-Han could clearly see how the pieces were supposed to fit together, the little images massive and painfully obvious. “It’s supposed to be the other way around. See?”
“Dammit-” Bi-Han muttered under his breath, reaching for the hammer once more- this time, the clawed side. He’d already nailed the damn pieces together- Kuai just had to wait until the end to tell him, didn’t he? Sly bastard.
Tomas, still watching the whole exchange, broke into another fit of high-pitched giggles. “Hloupý Bi.” He drummed his fingers on his leg in quick thought, “Silly.” He translated for them, “Silly Bi.”
Kuai chuckled, ruffling Tomas’ hair, “Ha-loopy indeed.”
Bi-Han just found himself rolling his eyes yet again.
