Many of the younger ccs speaking up about Wilbur's manipulation is INCREDIBLY concerning, and I don't think they'll be the last. I think it's also a big indication that it happened to Tommy too, and that he'll take a while to respond. People demanding an immediate response need to remember that he was likely a victim of it too, he just may not have been aware of it.

I mean, Wilbur's ADMITTED he relied on Tommy for his mental health when he was still a minor. That is NOT something adults should ever do and it has always been odd to me. It also makes it very hard for the minor involved to leave the friendship, since they see themselves as responsible for the older person. I don't think I need to really go into how unhealthy that sort of thing is, it isn't an uncommon occurrence and lot of people will have a better explanation than me. But it is something to keep in mind, that Tommy may feel responsible or have been groomed to excuse the behavior.

The library stream is another example of the manipulation, and I'm surprised no one is talking about it. Tommy literally talked about how uncomfortable he was at Wilbur's house. It was cold, he had no blanket, he didn't want to keep staying there, he would rather be out in public at night in a strange place. Then Wilbur just shows up out of nowhere and tells Tommy he's misremembering/being dramatic and pretty much shuts him up, gets him to stop talking shit about him. Everyone's exasperation with Tommy in the situation (being a minor alone and uncomfortable and uncertain of what to do, far from home with nowhere to go), helped Wilbur pull Tommy back in and convince him to go back to his house, especially since it was passed off as Wilbur being caring.

It was obvious to me during the stream that Tommy was telling the truth and Wilbur was the one lying, but I figured he was just being defensive because he didn't want all that online. Now we know that he had a LOT more to hide about his living situation that he didn't want being spilled, and manipulators/abusers don't tend to like it when someone goes and starts talking about the truth. They want to downplay it as much as possible, and Wilbur showing up in person to shut Tommy up and make fun of him for not wanting to stay with him, make it more lighthearted, is incredibly telling and I'm surprised I haven't seen anyone point that out.

There are so many other things I found odd throughout the years that finally have a proper explanation to them, but that's just a few examples. I'm not going to get too much further into it. Wilbur isn't who we should be focusing on, I just needed to get that out to move on from it.

I do think pointing out that Tommy has openly been manipulated is important because it may cause him to take a while to respond openly to all this while he processes. If Wilbur treated so many of his ex-friends badly it's safe to assume he did it to all of them, and we need to give everyone involved time to stop and think about the situation. A lot of people want Tommy to respond immediately, but he will need time to do that and it's only fair we give him the space to do that properly.

I also think it is so, so incredible that Shelby has given so many people the space and bravery to come forward. I believe there will be more people speaking up soon, they just need time. Support her and other victims!

i love that this is such a fling, such a happy thing for buck - he is finally feeling that puzzle piece click into place and it is freeing

I feel like Lou Ferrigno Jr is the ideal actor to interview because not only is he so fucking polite but he compliments the interviewer saying "what a great question" and gives SUCH insightful answers and you can tell how much he loves his work and his characters (especially Tommy) and he cares about the fans and he's just so fucking honest and I just love this man so much

If there's something I love is seeing how people draw c!Tommy. Especially about his age.

Some people draw him with more childlike features. He looks younger, more "helpless" in a way. You can really see it's a child soldier. Someone who is not ready in any way to be in those situations, but is there anyway with a confident face and a loud voice. It's very visible he should not be there and how wrong it all is.

But other people draw him looking a bit older, looking more like someone who's soon to become an adult. In a way he looks less innocent, even when he's still the victim. He resembles Wilbur a bit more, and he doesn't look as helpless when next to Dream. But here's the thing, he's still a child soldier. He might act like he knows what he's doing, use big words, and act all powerful. And it's not that visible how wrong it all is, but it's still there.

You'll look at him and see this seventeen-ish years old guy, and, in a first glance, it won't feel as wrong. But when you really look at him, that's when you notice how vulnerable Tommy is. Surrounded by people who are more mature, more powerful, and who hate his guts. And you'll start to notice how easily influenced he can be, which seems unlikely for someone who always expresses what he thinks. And you'll start to notice he was never as ready as he says he was. And you'll start to notice how most of the messes he got himself into had completely disproportional consequences to him.

And after all of that, you'll look at him again, and maybe he even looks a bit older, but you can still see it. The child behind the loud voice and the bright smile, holding a sword that is just his size, but will always feel a bit too big for him.

Having Tommy thoughts this fine evening. Like this moment. That was a big risk. He thought he got the signals right, but he wasn't 100% sure yet. Yes, Buck didn't push him away - in fact, he leaned in - but still, there was a chance he read this wrong. Maybe Buck was about to let him down easily, say that he liked him but not in that way; that he likes being friends though. So he keeps his eyes closed, breathes in, steeling himself in those precious few milliseconds before he opens his eyes to see his fate

Tommy wakes up in the hospital after his helicopter crash and sees his 6'2" boyfriend has somehow managed to curl up in the tiny plastic chair by his bed. He's drooling a little, legs akimbo, but he's holding tommy's hand carefully so as to not disturb the iv. Tommy's heart rate picks up at the sight and the machine beeping wakes buck, and he doesn't think he's ever going to forget the pure happiness and love in buck's smile when their eyes meet.

And after a few long minutes of oh my god im so glad you're alive, buck straightens up and pulls out his phone. "Everyone's going to be so relieved," he says while typing rapidly.

"Everyone?" Tommy's confused.

"Well yea," Buck responds, "the ICU has a visitor limit. But i promised i'd update the group chat when you woke up"

What follows is a parade of friends who cycle in one after the other to express their worry and relief, and to remark that buck has barely left his side. Bobby even gives him a little "welcome to the family/ congrats on your inaugural hospital stay" talk, and tommy can hardly believe any of the events that are happening. He's half convinced he's still in a coma having a really nice dream.

Buck is finally bullied into getting some food, and chimney promises to watch tommy while he's gone. Tommy is very quiet, a little shellshocked, looking small and young in a way that chimney hasn't seen in decades. After a few minutes of silence, he thanks chimney for being here.

Chimney scoffs, "Well i'm just glad i'm not the only one who has to deal with you in recovery this time, you can be such a bitch." And just as the door opens again and buck walks in, shoulders visibly relaxing as if tommy was somehow going to disappear when he was out of the room, chimney leans in a little and says "I don't think that'll be a problem, though. And hey, if you need a break from the hovering, call in reinforcements. No need to suffer in silence."

Tommy doesn't think he ever will again.
