"Nickles isn't really canon y'know" okay so explain how someone does enough work on a show to include accurate symbolism and imagery (Toki = rabbit in Korean and it's also his spirit animal), animate the guitar fingerings perfectly, correct Japanese translation on Pickles' headband, yet completely shit the bed on the definition of FRIENDER BENDER. IT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE
#for the record i don't care who does or doesn't ship it i just think this is hilarious#nickles#metalocalypse

Just remembered that Tokki in Japanese and Korean means Rabbit and now I literally can’t stop thinking about Dethklok’s trip to these countries, and Toki being swarmed by cute fan girls all trying to pinch his cheeks. No one taking him seriously because his name is just adorable and he gets so flustered because he’s big and manly too. But NO… the girls all just laugh. Because there’s the big hunky singer, sex god guitarist, ginger drummer that’s interesting in more ways than one, the bassist that is hard on himself and all girls get him to participate in massage and yoga, then there’s Rabbit. In both the literal and metaphorical sense 😂 Toki is Rabbit.

MORE TOKI WARTOOTH HEADCANONS BECAUSE I STILL CANT AFFORD TO SEE THE MOVIE 🔥🔥🔥
He is now HALF KOREAN BECAUSE HIS NAME MEANS RABBIT IN KOREAN!!! SMD❗❗❗❗
I imagine the events of the show take place in 2010 and end in 2014. In 2010 Toki was 24. was born in 1986 and joined the band when he was 17 in 2003.
His favorite show is The Maxx on MTV
He owns a sweatshop but it went bankrupt because he only employed elderly dogs that didn't do shit. They died in a triangle-shirtwaist-eque fire
He missed an entire public appearance watching The Wraith from 1986
He either has two Princess Diana piercings OR two frenum piercings. Based on your HC.
Banned from coney island for 8,000 years due to shenanigans involving Charles j guiteau's gun
He has bedazzled trucknuts for special occasions.

I love grumpy boys and… I think I have found a show to finally give me what I want. Literally was Mr. Sahara and Toki-kun made for me. Gives me warm fuzzy memories of Kyoutani Kentaro from haikyuu. ALSO I LOVE HUMOR. This is actually a funny show. It’s light it’s cute. First episode impression is I’m gonna give this a 10/10
My photo highlight reel
I mean I don’t like student teacher vibes but seeing as Mr. Sahara hasn’t done anything too inappropriate with Toki I think it’s okay also. 😭😭😭😭😭😭 every time they say Toki-kun all I can think about is how in Korean Toki is the word for rabbit and it’s just too cute.
Once again the subs on IQIYI leaves much to be desired. Idk why it’s so fucking bad. But lucky for me Japanese is 🙌🏻 what I’m the best at beside English. So no probs. I think it’d still be enjoyable without it. The actors do a good job conveying the meanings anyways. I’m probs not gonna do an ep by ep just do a 3 ep review like normal but had to rec this one quick so I don’t forget it. Heheh

One of the unexpected perks of having an autistic brother is the extended period of exposure to children's media. One VHS tape I really enjoyed when I was too old to be the target audience was "Rusty & Rosy Present: Sing Around the World, Vol. 1", a show that used songs from different parts of the world to teach the English Alphabet, but most importantly, in the original language too.
Because my brother was still watching this through my teenage years, I was exposed to the songs enough times to fall in love with several of the songs and learn them in the original language. One of these songs was "San Toki", or "Mountain Rabbit".
I have no connection to Korean culture, failing to even connect with K-Pop. Yet, when I'd sing San Toki, I would find myself intriguing Koreans, who'd suddenly look at me and say, "Woah, that song is so familiar," or "I know that song!"
Back to my lack of connection to Korean culture: I find it so fortuitous that the character I randomly chose to be Korean was a rabbit and now I could connect the only thing I knew in Korean back to her. Or perhaps this was subconscious and not chance?

……I somehow ended up associating Samatoki with the four horsemen of the apocalypse, of all things
Aohitsugi Samatoki. 碧棺左馬刻. To carve(刻) a horse(馬) on the left(左) side of the blue(碧) coffin(棺).
棺 is synonymous with 箱, which means ‘box’ and is read as ‘hako.’ Samatoki pronounces his MC name(Mr. HC) to sound more like ‘Mister Ha-ko’ rather than ‘Mister Hardcore.’ Turns out it was a pun(or word play, to be specific) with his last name, made possible by Japanese English pronunciation.
Then what would horse mean? Horse usually symbolized ‘power’ in many myths and artworks.
At some point, when I saw 碧(blue), 棺(coffin-the most common symbol of death), and 馬(horse), something sparked in my mind, and the pale horse of death galloped into my mind. The Japanese(青白い/蒼白い, あおじろい) and Korean(창백하다, 蒼白하다) vocabularies for ‘pale’ are both composed of the symbols that mean ‘blue青, 蒼’ and ‘white白,’ and this slight linguistic difference strengthened the color symbolism for me.
White Rider of Conquest: Samatoki’s childhood, when he was abused yet still had innocence and mom
Red Rider of War: Violence-what he was forced to witness with his two red eyes and now utilizing to survive, Pre-TDD Ichiro in red and black clothes, the color of 45 rabbit’s gloves
Black Rider of Famine: Despair induced from the disbandment of TDD, The color of Rio’s uniform that allows him to blend to the surrounding.
Pale Rider of Death: MTC. Samatoki himself.
The fact that there is not a single drop of yellow for ‘light’ only highlights his despairing life.
Last but not least, if you use goroawase to switch 左left to 三three(both are pronounced as ‘sa’), and replace 刻to carve with 時time(both are pronounced as ‘toki’). We now have ‘the time of three horses.’ Or should I say ‘the time of a white horse, a red rabbit, and a black bush warbler?’ Whatever time it is, the three members of MAD TRIGGER CREW can be together within the time of blue.

Why a Korean name?
Because found a list of “rabbit” in every language on Earth (more or less), and the word for “rabbit” that we liked best was the Korean one: Toki!

for the word for a fact thing: DOGS
Years ago before Pepper we had a tiny black poodle called Toki, which is rabbit in Korean. Unfortunately we all had work or school during the day at the time so she was alone a lot. That wasn’t a good thing so we decided to give him to my sister and her husband who had a depressed dog, Bailey - the big ol’ friendly white one. Bailey really needed a new friend and Toki was that friend to be! Bailey was the giant giant (still small, but bigger than Toki), and Toki was the rambunctious one who always picked on him despite being smaller and younger. Here are the little jellybeans (glad I still had some photos on my phone!)

Toki, why are you called Toki? :)
My name is Korean for rabbit. I was almost named Fenek (Maltese for rabbit), or Commodore Reginald Bruce Leppington (even though I’m a lagomorph and not a lepus…but we decided the name was too long anyway!)
