Welp... I figure out where the impending sense of doom I've been dealing with all day was coming from. The plumber came through for the clogged toilet I called in yesterday and just obliterated that bathroom. Chunks of shit stuck to all sides of this toilet, inside and out. Chunks of shit all over the floor. Shit water all over the floor in all 3 stalls and halfway to the sinks. Team lead called a coworker earlier(to the wrong building I might add) to mop up some water because the plumber told him there was a little on the floor but "it's not that bad"
On the bright side the sense of doom is just gone now. So at least there's that.

If your toilet fill valve won’t shut off, it’s likely due to a problem with the float. The float is a component of the fill valve that controls how much water flows into the toilet tank. If the float is stuck in the “up” position, it will prevent the fill valve from shutting off properly.
To fix this problem, you’ll need to adjust or replace the float. In most cases, adjusting the float is all that’s needed to fix a toilet fill valve that won’t shut off. To do this, simply bend the wire that connects the float to the fill valve until the float sits at the proper level in relation to the water line.
If your toilet has a plastic ball float, you may need to unscrew it from its housing and adjust it accordingly. If adjusting or replacing the float doesn’t solve your problem, there may be an issue with debris caught in the fill valve itself. Use a toothpick or other small object to clear any dirt or grit from inside of the valve body.

With weather getting colder than your local infrastructure was really meant to handle, there's going to be more pipes freezing and bursting as time goes on. So from the front desk of a mitigation company:
Find out how to turn off the water in your house in case a pipe bursts and floods.
If you live in an apartment or multi-housing building, you will probably need your landlord or property manager's help, if you can do it at all (they will probably have to do it for you). Find the best number to call if something happens say, in the middle of the night, if something happens.
For the rest of you, you'll need to find the main water valve. Sometimes it's not even inside your house! Sometimes you have to go all the way to the street to find the little hidden box that contains the main water shut-off! And if you think you know but aren't sure, run a test! (Obviously coordinate with whoever owns the building if that's not you.)
The easiest way to keep a single-room flood from turning into a whole-housing flood is to turn off the water as fast as humanely possible. Even just a minute can make a difference when a pipe bursts!
By the time a home is hitting about 20 years old, you should be really starting to prepare for pipes breaking. The longer they go without breaking, the more likely it is every year that something will go wrong. Note the places you can see pipes or are certain pipes are, such as under your sink, behind the toilet, behind the refrigerator and washing machines, etc., and try to make game plans for if something goes wrong with each one. If any of those are on floors above ground level (or a basement), those repairs get even more costly because that damages both the floor and the ceiling below it-and could mean having to remove everything between the two layers, like subflooring and insulation because if insulation gets wet, it gets moldy.
Our company literally just had a job earlier today involving a poor distraught woman who couldn't do anything as her basement flooded with 2 inches of water because she had no idea where the water shut-off valve was; her husband had always taken care of things like that, and her husband passed away two years ago, and she never learned where the shut-off was. She had to call the fire department to help her out, because in addition to the water, her basement was full of electronic things and outlets, meaning it was an electrical hazard down there that only the fire department could even take care of. Even stepping foot in the basement to help her out could have risked the safety of our own guys.
Knowledge is power. Weather is getting more dangerous, so understanding the building you live in is going to be more crucial these days. Prepare for the worst, hope for the best!

So we discovered that the damn water valves on both my toilet and my landlady's don't actually shut OFF the water.
How, you might ask?
She nearly flooded my kitchen when water started pouring through my ceiling yesterday afternoon, and then at like 130 this morning, my toilet tank decided it didn't want to be in one piece anymore and DID flood my bathroom.
I've also been awake since like 2AM YESTERDAY. Got maybe 3 hours of sleep last night. Do not have a functional bathroom.

My house was built in 1913 and apparently it has been consecutively inhabited by a series of incompetent handy-people (self very definitely included), and every time any professional comes in to work on something there is a lot of grunting and groaning and swearing. 
The last one was a plumber who discovered the upstairs toilet shut-off valve had been installed under the floor for some reason, and he had to access it by cutting through my kitchen ceiling. 
Today I’m having an air conditioner installed and apparently we’re having some unforeseen “age-related crumbling” issues with an exterior wall. 
Nothing is ever straightforward.

He saw my post about the shower and was asking some questions and giving ideas and omg it’s just really, really nice to be heard.
Anyway. Since I’ve been telling you all about the weirdness, too:

So here are the shut offs for the shower, way overhead where my short ass can’t reach without a step stool which seems like a bad idea in an emergency, but whatever...
So they are accessible-ish. AFAIK it doesn’t matter which way it’s turned (they can only go one way but there’s a little barrier so you can tell which way that is. I couldn’t see it before) because it’s just a little ball with a tunnel and it’s either tunnel lines up with pipe so water can get through, or ball covers pipe and water can’t get through.
I can’t turn them, though. I don’t know if they’re stuck or if it’s my weakness and messed up shoulder. I am very weak in the hands anymore. No grip, lots of pain.
I do have a plumber’s wrench thing that I can probably use to turn them. Haven’t tried, yet.
Also yes, those pipes are crooked AF.
The previous homeowners did it. I’m guessing the extensions over the ceiling there are for the toilet and sink.

The leak is probably in the.... I keep forgetting what this is called. It’s probably in this thing here which I could likely disassemble and fix or replace no problem, I just don’t want to. Nobody uses this shower.
Really, the entire basement needs torn out and redone professionally.
I’ve had to fix EVERY. SINGLE. POWER OUTLET. because they’re ALL mounted wrong.
Anyway.
You know how I’ve said that I’m not stupid but I’m slow; I’ll get there eventually?
I finally had the smart idea to go outside and measure the distance from the window to the spigot.
14 inches.
Then I came inside and measured from the window again and the spigot is, I shit you not....
right there.

Right where those walls meet. That corner is 13.5 inches from the window.
Which begs the question:  Where the fuck is the pipe, then, if there is wall framing there???
Also this means there’s a void behind there. The foundation is a little past the spigot, maybe another 10 inches, and the bathroom isn’t that deep. There’s a good...
guestimating...
1ft by.... maybe 4ft area that’s covered. For some reason.
So I’m wondering if I cut like....

i was supposed to trim the shrubbery today (whee to the hoa issuing a “friendly reminder” before just hitting us with a violation for having bushy bushes... sorry i was out of town for several weeks and things kinda got out of hand...). instead i had to fix a toilet fill valve, which led to the water intake valve apparently deciding to fail as well. now i have a drippy water line i have to go out and get parts to fix, and it’s supposed to pour rain all day tomorrow, so i guess the hoa will have to wait a while longer for hedge trimming to happen.
i dislike plumbing but can do it. i just hate having to shut the water off to the whole house and bleed out all the lines just to replace one (1) leaky knob. it feels so wasteful >.>
so do i want to run to the hardware store in the pouring rain, or just hibernate for a few days and let the pipe drip. eh i got a big coffee mug under it. it’ll be fine.

We took it upon ourselves to make sure these fascists could not gather. Rather than the constant reactivity and rigidness of mass protest spectacles, we wanted to hit them where it fucking hurts.
On November 5th, the Zionist fascist scum, “Friends of the IDF,” who represent the interests of wealthy American capitalists in their direct support of the settler colonial state of Israel and its continued campaign of genocide and apartheid against the Palestinian people, attempted to hold a fundraiser gala at Hiller Aviation Museum in San Carlos, California.
The IDF are known to kidnap, torture, kill, and rape Palestinians, as well as disrespect the bodies of martyrs. They are among the most deplorable people to ever walk the earth.
Despite reports and appearances otherwise, this fundraiser was effectively shut down within the first hour. Donor attendees began hurriedly leaving in a steady stream at the start of what was planned to be a full evening of blood money raising. This disruption, however, was not achieved by the tame, above-ground rally being safely contained by both the police and the rally organizers themselves, at a far distance from the unbothered attendees. These symbolic and futile attempts to shame and appeal to the moral conscience of individuals who have no shame or conscience, will always fail.
You cannot do damage to the Zionist project by merely engaging with its facade; you must strike at its soulless heart. You must strike at its veins (supply chains, logistics, cash flows, infrastructure).
While the liberals were congratulating themselves for having their nonthreatening photo op parade out in front of the gala, our people were out of sight at work on the veins of the building. Palestinians have suffered decades of Israeli soldiers and settlers restricting and destroying their access to water, often bricking up or concreting any water source not directly under strict control of the occupation forces, cutting off Palestinian access to the Jordan River while draining it to near extinction for settlement mono-crop agriculture, shooting holes in Palestinian water towers, bombing Gazan water treatment facilities, poisoning Palestinian springs and enforcing water apartheid in order to exert total control over Palestinian life. We decided to give these Zionist bootlickers a taste of their own medicine.
We cracked open the water main for the building housing the gala, switched it off, and filled the box with fresh concrete. This form of sabotage is quick and incredibly easy to replicate, and the tools are quite cheap. It also renders the building in question completely uninhabitable and unusable. We had a good laugh imagining these fascist motherfuckers driven out of the gala by the stench of overflowing toilets, unable to raise any more money for genocide. As we did we were reminded of how Israeli settlers flood Palestinian olive groves with sewage, poisoning food sources, destroying livelihoods.
There are specialized tools that can make this job easier to perform and faster. 1) Water main shut off tool 2) Irrigation lid tool / large screwdriver
The steps are as follows: 1) Lift lid off water box 2) Identify the valve, usually rectangular 3) Turn valve to be perpendicular to the pipe 4) Add a lock to the available hole 5) Fill hole with concrete 6) Put lid back on
At 6:40 PM, just 40 minutes into the gala, we put an end to things before they even began. No auction, no speeches, no propaganda screening, thus cutting off one stream of funding for genocide and apartheid. Donors began sneaking out of the backdoor of the space around 7PM, escorted by fascist police and private security. Around 7:10, a utility truck arrived to attempt a repair. They failed to do so, as our successful sabotage held. The building was evacuated. The Zionists ran home with their tails between their legs, their facade of security and impenetrability proven vulnerable.
We hope that this will inspire other autonomous actors to strike at the infrastructure of genocide everywhere it can be found.
While the Zionist occupation forces deliberately target Palestinian infrastructure to render human survival impossible, we must turn these same tactics on the oppressor, targeting the civil, economic, and political infrastructure that feed the Zionist project, starving it of the resources that sustain its existence and enable its genocidal violence. The targets are here and everywhere. We send a message that there will be no safe space for genocidal capitalism. There will be no safe space for fascist Zionist terror. Wherever you amass, we will find you and shut you down.

Shower head trickles out water slower than I can piss
Incorrect fall for new sanitary lines
Blockage from existing toilets that run under our space
Fountain of human shit blowing up into our space because the pitch wasn’t correct
Leaking faucets in a new kitchen
Glass washer not connected right
Pierced water line at a new bar, when all new surrounding finishes were installed
