something i found in Thanks To Them is that hunter, the boy who was never happy, never seemed to really enjoy himself, was happier than luz fucking noceda. luz noceda. the girl who always saw the good in everyone and thing, who looked on the bright side for every terrible situation, who was almost never upset.

Manifesting a flapjack rebirth with Luz's palisman. Flapjack was absolutely the palisman she bonded with most other than maybe owlbert but owlbert is alive and flapjack is dead and we deserve him back god damn it. Idk it might kinda undermine her arc if it's just Hunters palisman part 2, but there's clearly a link between him and Eveyln so there could absolutely be some link between luz and her. He's also a red bird so phoenix imagery could track too. At the very least I think she's going to have a bird palisman. Maybe flapjack will just live on in hunter but I just want him back so bad. Maybe the collector could? Hunter said he wanted to get into palisman carving so maybe Eda will help him carve an egg and the flapjack inside him will manifest into a rebirth. Or maybe it's supposed to be a spiritual severing or combination of hunter and Caleb? Either Caleb joining hunter or the final connection to Caleb dying and meaning hunter is now free to be his own person? Either way I hope he comes back some how

i feel like the show does focus on hunter too much sometimes like. for someone officially introduced in season 2 hes like luz’s deuteragonist now and really he either should have been introduced in season 1 or they should have focused more on gus and willow or both. i love him as a character ofc but the criticisms about too much focus on him is valid i think and even if it would have been more balanced in a longer season 3 it still makes it jarring to see in the show.

but apparently there’s a loud minority saying hunter’s posession and flapjack’s death in thanks to them was “bad writing” because of said focus on hunter Having A Bad Time and how he doesn’t “deserve” to lose flapjack and. um. idk i think those ppl need to realize that “i like this character and get upset when bad things happen to them and this disney tv y7 show went a lot darker than i expected” or “i'm not interested in this character so the heavy focus on them is distracting from the characters i like” is a different criticism from “this character’s suffering is unnecessary to the plot/their character development and therefore bad writing.”
