Why did the ADL initially defend Elon Musk after he made a Nazi salute, only to later criticize him for making Nazi-related puns?
The ADL swiftly condemned Kanye West for his anti-Semitic comments, yet Elon Musk, despite his history of anti-Semitic and bigoted behavior, has not faced the same level of scrutiny.
The ADL should apply its condemnation consistently, as seen in its swift criticism of Kanye West and Kyrie Irving, while handling Elon Musk differently.

African Hair Threading
Hair Threading has been part of the Black hair scene for many generations. It consists of wrapping sectioned hair in thread. This method of wrapping the hair in thread strengthens the hair without excessive manipulation, which is beneficial for your strands. Not only does the style strengthen the hair, but it also promotes growth.
The style comes from Sub-Saharan African countries and grew its popularity in West Africa, particularly, South Nigeria. Learn more here

Bantu Knots and Hi-Top Fades
The Zulu people of southern Africa originated Bantu knots, a hairstyle where the hair is sectioned off, twisted, and wrapped in such a way that the hair stacks upon itself to form a spiraled knot (Source). Learn the history of Bantu Knots
The hi-top fade or flattop originated in the U.S. military around the ‘40s and ‘50s. By the mid-eighties, Black barbers began to reimagine the hairstyle, and due to its resemblance to Queen Nefertiti’s Empress headpiece, some speculated the hairstyle's origin. The hairstyle grew as a trend when worn by the like of Grace Jones, Doug E. Fresh, and Salt-N-Peppa.

Afro
As far as hairstyles go, there's nothing Blacker than the Afro. In the 1960s, after decades of subjecting themselves to European beauty standards, Black folks decided to take back their hair. This newfound self-acceptance was widely known as the Black Is Beautiful movement, which sprang from the Black Power movement. The 'fro was rocked by Angela Davis, Huey P. Newton, and Jesse Jackson while fighting oppression; the hairstyle quickly emerged as a symbol of Black beauty, liberation, and pride.

The Royal Navy issued sailors with the final daily rum ration (the daily tot) on 31 July 1970.
It had been issued since 1655. The final ration was poured at 6 bells in the forenoon watch (11:00) after the pipe of ‘up spirits’. This photograph shows sailors receiving the final tot on the submarine depot ship.

The first recorded mention of all-Black hockey teams appears in 1895. Games between Black club teams were arranged by formal invitation. Following the matches, the host teams often entertained the visiting squad with an after game dinner. By 1900, The Colored Hockey League of the Maritimes had been created, headquartered in Halifax, Nova Scotia. ... The league would exist until the mid-1920s.Historically speaking, The Colored Hockey League was like not other hockey or sports league before or since. Primarily located in a province, reputed to be the birthplace of Canadian hockey, the league would be in time produce a quality of player and athlete that would rival the best of White Canada. Such was the skill of the teams that they would be seen by as worthy candidates for local representation in the annual quest for Canadian hockey's ultimate prize--the Stanley Cup.

that lancali girl who keeps popping up on my social media talking about what a successful poetic writer she is and then she shares something she’s written and every time with no exception it is one of the worst most embarrassing pieces of literature ive ever read like the cringiest purple prose you can imagine and everyone in the comments is talking about how it’s history-making and the most be beautiful thing they’ve ever read..and yes i do blame taylor swift for this
#all of her writing is like im a daughter born of ashes and flame my heart dripping black like a night sky where the sun took the moon for an#eternal lover it could never greet with a kiss as sweet as honey that would ache in every rib..#genuinely saw a poem she wrote today about how she’s a poet who writes about ugly things to reflect the ugly things she feels inside and#she bleeds therefore she is…and someone in the comments called it history-making..girls i think it’s time to pick up a book..and no ao3#doesn’t count..and no that romantasy the blah of blah and blah book doesn’t count either..#does ANYONE know what im talking about.

Welcome to Black Excellence 365, where we celebrate all things Black and Excellent every day of the year. This month, for March, we will be taking a look at a new theme and source of pride & expression: Hair ✂️.
This month is all about hair, and its importance to Black style, culture, music, history, politics, and, most of all, Black Excellence. Black hair is an essential part of the Black experience. You name it, we’ll look at, explore, and celebrate it: cornrows, box braids, natural coils, knotless braids, goddess braids, twists, pixie crops, locks, wavy hair, crochet braids, and everything in between. Black hair goes hand-in-hand with every aspect of Black life and touches every corner of the world. Care for Black hair is a labor of love ❤️and a long, long process that involves washing, detangling, combing, oiling, braiding, twisting, and decorating the hair, which creates not just a sense of beauty but honors its spiritual power. And this legacy lives on today across Black life. In the 60s, the Afro was a big expression of Black power, pride, connection, and revolution popular with artists, performers, youth, and activists. Some artists would use their hair as an expression of art, as they do today, while young Black Americans would ‘fro their hair to emulate the style of the civil rights heroes like the Black Panthers and convey Black pride, as pioneered by the Queen, Angela Davis. Since that time, Black hair has become a symbol of celebration, a reminder of our roots, and a call to embrace heritage while politically rejecting Eurocentric ideals. Today, the Natural Hair Movement is carried with pride and power. Black hair has always been political — in the same vein, in 2019, The Crown Act (sign the petition|email your legislator) was passed as a starting point to support Black Folx in their appreciation of their hair — their CROWN 👑. Whatever the period, whatever the style, It is all Black Excellence and is here to be celebrated 24/7.
But BE365 is nothing without you: so POST your favorite hairstyles, iconic Black cuts, shapes, and styles, and your cutting-edge hairdressers and stylists who turn Black hair into art, and Black Excellence. And don’t forget to tag your content with #blackexcellence365 for the chance to be featured. And last but not least, join us for our celebration and of the very best in Black hair of every shape and every style. Make sure you join in, follow, and smash that share button using the tag #BlackExcellence365.
Welcome to March in #BlackExcellence365 ✊🏿✊🏾✊🏽!

“They came down on us because we had a grass-roots, real people’s revolution, complete with the programs, complete with the unity, complete with the working coalitions, where we crossed racial lines.” - Bobby Seale
“I dissuade Party members from putting down people who do not understand. Even people who are unenlightened and seemingly bourgeois should be answered in a polite way. Things should be explained to them as fully as possible. I was turned off by a person who did not want to talk to me because I was not important enough. Maurice just wanted to preach to the converted, who already agreed with him. I try to be cordial, because that way you win people over. You cannot win them over by drawing the line of demarcation, saying you are on this side and I am on the other; that shows a lack of consciousness. After the Black Panther Party was formed, I nearly fell into this error. I could not understand why people were blind to what I saw so clearly. Then I realized that their understanding had to be developed.” - Huey P. Newton
