I heard that Nihondaira Zoo had its first birth of a Toco Toucan, so I went to see it. It says, 'Confirmed vocalizing around March 15,' so the baby is about 2 months old. It was unbelievably adorable and made me laugh.

Toco Toucan in gouache

Been really on a creative kick recently and grabbing inspiration from a lot of new sources, it’s been a long time since I made something that felt fun and original but I am actually really proud of how this guy turned out. It’s always an amazing feeling to come out on the other side of a project and be able to recognize my progress and how far I’ve come in not only my execution but understanding of art.

Might make another one of these guys but might take another entirely different route, who knows!!

Marchirp day 26: Rainforest. Rainforests were 4th grade me's favorite biome, and the toco toucan (the biggest toucan) was my favorite bird (red eyed treefrog was my favorite frog/animal but that's a different art challenge).

AND HEAR ME OUT📢, o felipe se seguraria muito pra não chorar, cheio de medo que as crianças e o filho pensassem que ele ficou triste ou que não gostou, mas quando chega em casa, e o menininho vai dormir, ele desaba contigo. uma vez que cês tiveram bebê bem novos, o maior medo dele era não ser uma boa referência de figura paterna, mas momentos como aquele - ou ent como quando o pequeno tinha conseguido andar de bicicleta sem rodinhas, ou quando eles dois criavam histórias de heróis e ninjas e performavam juntos pra ti na sala😫😫 - mostravam que tudo tava indo bem🤍

"você é ótimo, amorzinho, eu sou muito grata por dividir essa experiência contigo, sabia?", falando baixo e calma enquanto faz um cafuné nos fios macios, e ele choraria ainda mais com isso, segurando sua cintura e enterrando o rosto na sua barriguinha, te fazendo rir de como ele era coração mole pra esses assuntos (amando porque sabe que ele nunca vai te desapontar nesse quesito e que vão criar um homemzinho muito lindo, respeitoso e gentil)
