          even growing up on the streets of petersburg, dmitry can’t recall anything that makes him more uncomfortable than fancy dinners or parties  --  no matter how private.  he’s no longer as poor as he once was, of course, but in these situations, he always feels somehow like the outlier.  ( feels like?  no, dima, you are the outlier, make no mistake, you don’t belong here, understand? )  to meet any of the remaining members of anya’s family only adds to that stress exponentially, and at the moment, he’s feeling close to paralysis, watching it all as if he’s on the opposite side of glass  --  at least for now.

well even if his head-of-neuro girlfriend says he has a concussion he’s gonna deny it and keep himself busy just to prove how absolutely 1000% fine he is. until it backfires. then he’s gonna use the injury as an excuse to whine until she gets sick of him complaining and lets him use her lap as a pillow for nap time. then he’ll be the lucky guy who gets to be cosy with a nice pretty lady who’s gonna stroke his hair and tell him he’s handsome and he can use that to prove that he’s better and luckier than any other guy he meets for the next month. it’s a great plan.

            Klaus never tarried long beside another in the dark hours of the night. The softness of a bed, the warmth of another’s form beside him… these things were rather oppressive than comforting. Even on the best of nights, restlessness and flighty thoughts drove him up. Up and into the darkness, on occasion: the city’s quiet nighttime hours were more home than anywhere else. At other times, his studio was far enough, paints and canvas a refuge from worry.  It was there she might find him when the sun had returned and she awoke to find him absent. 

            Barefoot steps alerted him to her approach long before she stood at his side, affording him enough time to cover his current project. Somehow, he was loathe to grant her such access to his inner thoughts, those emotions he could not name and did not know how to feel but which he feared must work their way into his art when impulse prevailed over intellect. He did not trust, after all. Both had things they desired of the other, affording them an uneasy ( if enjoyable ) truce. Truces only went so far.

            He anticipated a protest. Playful perhaps. Hurt ( or of feigned hurt ) perhaps. In some way, indignation that he concealed it from her. Klaus found himself in no mood for such games, however. Canvas covered and brush surrendered to cleansing solvent, he turned to face her. A step toward her, and to preempt whatever words she might speak, he reached a hand around the back of her neck, drawing her toward him and into a kiss. To call it a “good morning kiss” might be to name the mask rather than what lay beneath, but perhaps it might serve both purposes.

Personally, I’ve been trying to find info on Blair and his First Nations background for some months now and all I can tell you is that he’s been regularly playing First Nation characters and Switched at Birth went out of their way to make his character part First Nations.

( hope you don’t mind me posting this, i just want it on my blog to come back to D: )

But this has been what I’ve been finding while searching for hard facts as well, while I haven’t managed to find quotes from Redford himself, some producers and writers have stated that the characters he’s been playing have been First Nation or have Native ancestry and that they hadn’t originally been looking for Native actors to play them etcetc so it’s just still unconfirmed and uncertain of is he or isn’t he :///

@raidstombs​ was one of the first people to come to mind for this. Ash is such a great presence on the dash & she tends to always be willing to help people as well. I know there’s been many times when I’ve gone to her with questions about lesson plans and she’s been super helpful. She’s such a delight to see everywhere and I’m so glad that I decided to follow her c:

Good lord I don’t know how @wildmoored​ does it. Especially when she was in school. She’s always doing things to help others, always pressing herself to be better and further her knowledge and depth of Godric/Garrett. I know she’s busy with things, life and work, and just being herself. Holly is such a positive influence on the dash and myself and I don’t know what I’d do without her c:

I know that my first thought was @maidofwinter / @tobewhoimnot bc of the amount of time they dedicate to her muses. Both on her multi and on Sansa. It amazes me how much she loves her muses and how much time she dedicates to them. She’s constantly throwing out headcanons, talking about her muses, and everything else involved. It’s clear that she loves her characters with all the time she puts into them.

okay but before TO there was this thing with Elijah using Klaus in the 15th century and using Niklaus super bitterly in modern times that I was SO down with cause it was all ‘I know who you really are and you’re not that powerful’

TVD had its shit figured out (somewhat) before TO... I am all for Elijah’s use of the name ‘Niklaus’ tbh because it is so well-suited to their relationship... when it’s not considered an affectionate use of the name. But Klaus hates it. Super super super super hates it.

There are NO female critics in general cause only old men's opinions are valid, it's a serious industry wide issue that no one wants to address

Honestly, how many shows weren’t that bad at all but got bad critic reviews because of the narrow (and narrow minded, lbr) demographic that the existing critics fit?

the fact that she was left out of the most recent bbc adaptation makes me so bitter. there wasn’t even a passing comment if i remember right... and you don’t even have to cast her just mention that there’s a sister. the lack of content in her tag makes me sad too. vera is excellent && needs to be better appreciated by the world
