(this question is for mun) I've been wondering for a long time, how do you make your backgrounds? they look so realistic?? do you use some kind of 3d/rendering program? or photos? I too use clip studio paint, but I would have no idea how to make the backgrounds look as perfect and realistic as yours😳

Don't just be pretty, be present. Write with the world like it's real.
There is a lot of beautiful writing in the RPC, a myriad of wonderfully different styles and preferences, and that is an excellent thing! If this tip doesn't feel like it is for you, that is okay! Everyone has different styles and desires; it may resonate with some people and not with others and that is absolutely okay. No one needs to be an expert at anything--I'm certainly not! I almost never edit replies, sometimes I just babble pure nonsense, and I'm a tiny bean of an RPer in a sea of amazing artists. These are just thoughts that have been kicking around in my head for a while, and that I hope will help someone here and there.
Don't just be pretty, be present.
Rather than stressing over how pretty your reply is, whether that means word choice or the actual formatting of the post, consider how present your character is in that post. Are they just passively reacting to a situation or a statement? Or are they really interacting with whatever is going on? Whether it's purple prose or stripped down simplicity, for some people things will feel a little flat, a little hollow, if a reply is especially passive--if a character responds but gives nothing back.
Is one of the characters carrying something weird around in the scene, like a chunk of 2x4 or a broken trumpet? Whatever it is, consider having your character interact with that element. Since it has been introduced, it exists, and there is nothing wrong with having your character notice it. Maybe they interact verbally, by asking about it. Maybe they interact through the narrative, by thinking something about it, or having an emotional response to it if it might be something they have previous experience with. Or, hell, if it really feels too random, you can have your character think that. Just like, What the hell is Joan doing with that trumpet? I don't want to deal with any more weird shit today.
React to what is around you in the scene. Interact with the world. If you're in a castle, maybe consider having your character touch the wall and make note of the texture. If something horrible is happening, don't just repeat a list of the events that happened, but show how your character reacts. You can show reactions internally or show reactions externally, and you can absolutely do both! Showing internally could mean demonstrating through their narrative or their thoughts how they feel about whatever just happened. Does it terrify them? Is their heart pounding? Do they want to run? Are they struggling to continue to stand next to their best friend? An external response might be describing their actions without touching on what's happening in their head--like taking a few steps back, a sudden gasp, stepping in front of their loved one--or even just describing how they look. Maybe they go pale, maybe their hands shake or their voice shakes. You don't have to state everything, you can show them however you want to, but for a lot of people, an RP experience is going to feel much more interactive, much more immersive, when you have the scene get to your character.
A beautiful character standing there and observing events is great, and it can be absolutely in character for them to be completely bored about whatever it happening, to show no reactions whatsoever... but that can be boring for your writing partners, especially in an action scene, and not leave them feeling inspired or feeling they have any sort of a hook to respond to. There's a line from an old song that always comes to mind when I think about this: If you're bored then you're boring. Not necessarily always true, there are ways to keep a bored character engaging, but it can be true. It can be very true. If a character has no more reactions than a plank of wood, then the other characters in the scene might as well walk away and go find an actual plank of wood.
A beautifully written reply that ultimately says nothing of significance to the situation can be wonderful, a gorgeous bit of almost poetry--but for some, it may leave your partner feeling like their efforts to create or support an important moment in the plot have fallen flat.
[Adding: Vivid descriptions are interacting. You're interacting with the world when you do that, you're making it more real. Flashbacks are interacting, you're showing how the events affected your character and what is happening in their mind suddenly. Try to give something for your partner to work with, of course, but don't hold yourself back. Chase your inspiration!]
Write like actions have consequences; play with the world like it's real.
I know a lot of people can be unsure how to react, because they don't want their characters to fail, but that is a trap that may lead to a stagnated scene. Your character doesn't need to win all the time. Let them be imperfect, let them fuck up, let them make mistakes, let them fall on their face, let them be in danger, let them risk it all, let them need help sometimes--
Let them be alive. (Or, you know, whatever passes for alive in their particular canon!)
It's RP. It's okay to take risks. It's okay to not be sure what the perfect response would be, it's okay to experiment, to go with what you feel your character would really do--even if that means they drop everything and bolt out of there, even if it means party members don't see eye to eye on something. It can be daunting to write a character with significant flaws, and it's not for everyone, but for a lot of us? I think it can be super rewarding to go through those little arcs and moments, the ups and downs, the times when your character is doing well and the times when they're just--lost. Flailing.
Write like everything matters. Even if you just do it in tiny little ways, use the scene around your character; let the weather affect them, let them idly pick at some grass if they're sitting in a meadow, let them be sore from a particularly chafed feeling spot because they've been sweating in their armor in an arena all day. Let them be cranky. Let them have headaches. Let their intentions, thoughts, preferences, and vibes not always match their lover's in any given moment; there's a lot to be said for characters who aren't always in perfect harmony with each other. Maybe one wakes up cranky and the other wakes up wanting to burst into song, bathe in coffee, and tackle ten new projects before the birds even start singing. Let them clash, let their love show through how they both respond to those little clashes.
And don't be afraid for your actions to have consequences. Write knowing that your character might be absolutely saying the wrong thing and digging themselves an ever-deeper hole here. Write as if your partner's reply has consequences: if the other character is a dick to yours, don't feel like your character must remain unaffected. Maybe they have the kind of personality where that can roll off their back, but then again, maybe they don't. Let your character be affected by things. Let them be hurt, let them be angry, let them be confused. Let them laugh. Let their minds wander.
Let the world, and the people in it, affect them.
If a bus goes by, maybe your character misses a few words of what the other said. Maybe those words are important.
Maybe it's a hot day and your characters have been out and on the go nonstop; it's okay to let your character be cranky, overheated, and dehydrated and just need to get somewhere cooler and quiet to decompress.
And then for big plot moments? If something terrifying happens, or something amazing, don't pretend it isn't happening, don't ignore it in favor of just replying point-by-point to every bit of dialog from your partner's last post. Conversations aren't always perfect. They ebb and flow--and they can absolutely be interrupted. Have fun. Talk with your partners. Don't try to control them, and don't use "it's what my character would do" as a way to trash a plot or ensure someone else has a bad time. Don't use RP replies to punish them. Keep it genuine in-character, whatever that means for your muses, and keep it kind out of character...
But don't keep your writing or your characters behind glass.
Let the world interrupt your character. Let the world move your character. Let the person with them have an impact on them, for better or for worse. Let them be hurt. Let them do the hurting. Let little things annoy them. Let them be distracted. Let the world matter. Let their emotions and reactions show.
They don't need to be a pretty, perfect, porcelain doll to be an incredible roleplay character. They just need to be present in their own scenes, in their own stories <3

//OOC Ask Game for Character Building
This ask game is intended to help you figure out the basic three pillars of character building - who are they, what do they want, what are they like? You can treat it like a traditional ask game and have people send in questions/send some to yourself, or you can just use it as a reference to help figure out who your character is. Knowing your character's situation, goals, and personality is also going to help you figure out how to start like, 99% of IC interactions. And while it is great to have this stuff figured out before you make a blog, I know a lot of us (myself included) tend to make things on a whim and then figure the details out as you go. This is intended to help you out with that! So without further rambling;
Situation
What are they? Human, hybrid, or other?
If you asked them 'what are you' what would they say?
How did they come to be whatever they are? If they're a hybrid, how? If not, how were they raised?
Where do they live? In the city, country, or suburbs? What kind of house/apartment is it?
Why are they there? Did they move there intentionally, have they always been there, or were they placed there by some external force?
Do they have any sort of connection with their community?
What do they do all day? Do they have responsibilities, hobbies, or habits?
If you have multiple muses on the same blog, why do they share a blog? The in character reason, not the reason that suits you ooc.
Goals
What do they want?
Why do they want it?
How are they trying to get it?
What's standing in their way to get it right now? (this one is important! Conflict drives story and all that)
What are they willing to do to get what they want? What are they not willing to do?
Personality
What are they like? Energetic, lethargic, sarcastic, mean, happy, mischievous, etc.
What made them like this? Is there a piece from their situation or background that contributed to their general personality, or are they just Like That innately?
Strengths and weaknesses is a reductive way to look at traits. Name some traits that help them in some situations but hinder them in others (i.e. being stubborn/willful, intelligent/too cerebral, relaxed/weak willed, etc)
Do they have any quirks? Either in their blogging style or their general demeanor.
Does their inner sense of self match what they project on the outside?
Once you have the three areas above figured out, you can base your interactions on how the blog your interacting with intersects with one of the above. Are they in a similar situation? Further along in a similar goal? A roadblock to their goal maybe? Is their personality the same or opposite to yours? And so on. Keeping intentionality in your interactions and the above three pillars in mind will help you figure out how to talk to people while building a unique and interesting character that people will actually want to talk back to.
As always, if using this as an ask game, send 1-2 questions to the person you reblogged this from. Ask game karma and all that.

Cropped 100x100 Icons for The Persona 3 Movies!
I am posting a link to the FULL google drive folder with all 4 movies. Credit is not mandatory but is appreciated! You can also donate if you feel like it but again, this was just cropping. The caps are from capsource. I did not do anything with some characters, like the SL characters that appear briefly, the velvet room characters, or Ikutsuki and Misturu's dad. If you do want icons of them, I will gladly make them! These are good for use or editing into your own style! I hope everyone enjoys Persona 3 at least almost as much as I do. ♥
In this folder you will find (separated by movie) the following:
Aigis - 281 icons | Akihiko Sanada - 398 icons| Chidori Yoshino - 116 icons| Fuuka Yamagishi - 186 icons| Jin Shirato - 51 icons | Junpei Iori - 474 icons | Ken Amada - 206 icons | Koromaru - 27 icons | Makoto Yuki - 960 icons | Mitsuru Kirijo - 317 icons | Pharos - 57 icons | Ryoji Mochizuki - 119 icons | Shinjiro Aragaki - 110 icons | Takaya Sakaki - 88 icons | Yukari Takeba - 479 icons |

please stop using genocide apologists as your face claims. I promise a selfie or two is not worth being complicit in the systematic killing of innocent civilians. and yes, that also goes for your favorite a list celebrity that has been silent about the ongoing violence happening in palestine and instead tries to shove their new partner/album/make up line down our throats.
a thread of celebrities that have publicly shown support for i*rael provided by @kettensaege and there’s plenty more out there. one more list that I find very, very noteworthy.
#* ooc.#I’m so sick and tired of celebrities as a whole#but especially those who stay silent#in erin’s words: I know that they don’t have to but why don’t they want to?#imagine having all the money and resources and funds in the world and prioritizing your own comfort over people’s lives#just know that there is no excuse#none at all#and reminder: yes it is about politics and yes it is about human lives#because believe it or not those two go hand in hand

so you've got a lotta blogs, but not a lotta patience to be signing in and out between em? i'm about to save your life !!
i. let's start with the email trick!
ps: i have only ever done it with gmail. if you use a different one, give it a try anyway! but i can vouch that it does work for gmail. it's super simple: [email protected] -> [email protected] you just add +musename and you can create a new tumblr account while still having everything in the same email account! (you do this during the "sign up" component on tumblr, not your email! it'll automatically add it to your email. you can also add the +musename part to your email in account settings)
ii. now, multiple sign ins!
google chrome: profiles! on your browser, up top, right next to the settings you'll see a button for the profile attached to that browser. when you click it, you'll see the existing profile, and the option to "add" a new one. each profile is its own browser page, which allows you to sign onto a different tumblr account in each! i like to name mine according to the muse it belongs to so i can keep track. firefox: there's an extension called 'containers' which allows you to have multiple sign ins on the same site open!
if you've got any other tips to ease the process of having multiple muses and blogs, feel free to let me know and i'll add it to this!
i hope this helps! let me know if it does or if you've got questions about it!
happy roleplaying <3
#• the one true queen speaks ! || ooc.#BIG THANK U TO VELCRYONS !!!!!!!! i only use google chrome so tysm for sharing the tip for firefox!!!#ps i can tag u fr on the post if you'd like!! i just didn't wanna bombard u with notifications ab it just in case <333#rp help#rp resources#these tips saved my life years ago when i got into rp and there was a post ab it#idk where that old post is so here's a fresh one!!

Hey there! I really love your poses and aesthetic posts, and have been wanting to try my own hand at it for a while now.
What would be your tips/resources for someone dipping their toes into the more custom side of gposing? I've done a bit of vanilla stuff, and do use some light appearance mods, but things like shaders, posing, and custom camera positions still elude me.
This is a tough one because, in my opinion, a lot of tips I can give is mostly just "practice practice practice" as I didn't get remotely close to where I am now overnight. I've been gposing and working with mods + crimes for YEARS.
Like this is how I started vs how I do now:
Not the best examples but I wanted two completely unedited shots to keep it transparent
There is (according to the timestamp of this photo, which is not my earliest, but the earliest I could find) a nearly 5 year difference. I can promise you, I did NOT get this overnight. It was a lot of trial and error, a lot of finding my own style, a lot of experimenting, etc.
Some tips and advice from personal experience:
First and foremost, PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE: I was not kidding when I say it is all about just practicing and doing what YOU think would look good. Don't let others tell you what looks good or what doesn't unless you specifically ask for constructive criticism. At the end of the day, it's your gpose, your work, so long as you're happy with it? No one else's opinion matters.
Do not be afraid to experiment with new styles or even new OCs: Sometimes just having one OC to gpose can make things feel stale and boring, but we feel compelled to stay with JUST ONE for a myriad of reasons (which is fine!) and it makes people afraid to branch out a little. So if you want to experiment? Do it! Want to dress your OC how they wouldn't normally dress? Do it! Want to experiment with an alt that is vastly different from your main? Do it! You never know until you try.
Do not be afraid to use pre-made poses: Maybe this was just a twitter thing, but there were a few times I saw people shaming others for using "premade poses" instead of doing it themselves. Don't listen to these people, they're the WORST kinds of people, I promise you, they have nothing good to say (unless you're kissing their ass). A lot of creators, especially people who make poses frequently, make poses for them to be USED. They are a resource, free for people to use, take advantage of it.
Gpose for YOU, not for others: This is easier said than done, I know, but the biggest thing is you have to gpose only if you want to/if you're in the mood to, not to try and garner for social clout. At the end of the day, this is a hobby, we need to remember that.
Lift others up as you'd want others to lift you up: Now this is something I really need to remember to do myself; it's easy to get lost in the sea of praise when someone compliments you, or if a lot of people compliment your efforts. Remember to give the same love you get; just noticing someone's work can be a strong motivator, and let's be real, a single kind word about someone's work can really make their day. You never know.
Numbers don't matter at the end of the day: At the end of the day, we're all a bunch of nerds playing a game and playing dress up with our imaginary friends/digital dolls. Its easy to get swept up in the popularity contest that is social media, but that can go away at a moment's notice. So don't place your value as a gposer/creator in the numbers. Take pride in knowing you put your best efforts into something.
And now actual gpose resources:
Now I don't have a lot of "special" tools I use that aren't available elsewhere, but here are some things such as filters, plugins, etc, that I use to make my gposing a lot easier.
Elvashades (Gshade/Reshade Filters): I pretty much EXCLUSIVELY use Elva's shaders and have for the better part of 6-7 months. Their filters are incredibly easy to customize, come in a variety of styles, and they actually show how their filters work on multiple skintones. Even better: their filters are gshade AND reshade compatible! So no matter which you use, they'll work just fine.
Elegy (Shaders): Now a lot of folks know who Elegy is; they're the creator of the Rue body and make a lot of more fantasy/victorian-style outfits (I love their work), but they also have a few shader sets that I personally enjoy for softer shots.
Leggerless (Poses): Lately I've been obsessed with Leggerless' poses, as they're quite versatile, and they have TONS of different themes that fit whatever I need. I also have the easiest time adjusting them, which is a huge plus in the checkbox.
Elio (Gpose Stage Props): ELIO is a creator (or creators*) that make detailed gpose stage props. They literally have WHOLE SCENE SETUPS on on a single minion that are perfect for something niche, or if you just want something simple. (Personally I use their studio photoshoot prop as a backdrop for my mod previews!)
At the current moment, this is all I can provide, but I encourage anyone with advice, tips, resources, etc, to add onto it. I'm always open to trying to help folks, whether it's just giving my own advice on gposing, or just providing resources.
#neafotia#OOC#Thank you for the ask!#Gpose Resources#This is just my own opinion on things so take it with a grain of salt#Also for real I am no expert I can only give opinions and advice based on my own experiences#But I do genuinely hope this helps at least a little
