i always think about pandora's box (or pithos, if you want to be a nerd), how hope was in there with all the other terrible things... famine, war, death, fear... a woman's curiosity birthing all these horrible curses to plague mankind forever... which is so unfair knowing that pandora was created with the sole intent of doing this; it was her fate to release these evil things. cursed with curiosity, the same thing that killed the cat, or whatever.

isn't it strange? that the gods placed hope in that same terrible box, because the gods weren't kind. they didn't place hope in there because they cared about humanity. sometimes hope could be as ugly as the other curses in that box. it's a soothing balm but only temporary; a bandaid on a stab wound. it hurts so much sometimes.

then again, where would we be without it? what can we do, sometimes, when there's only hope? but relying on hope to stand on its two legs alone is rarely the answer... often, miracles need to happen to carry hope to the end.

but hope can also be kindness and love. i see hope in children; it's offering prayers to anyone that can listen to please please please let these children soar, let them rise up but not as icarus did. please allow them a seat at the table, to take a bite of the fruit. let them have full bellies and dreams of creation. hope is in children saying "i have no need for hope for i have what i want." suffer as we might now, but hope needs to prevail so that these horrors are not inherited.

that's why i can't condemn hope. not yet, for when there's still need for it.

Spencer reaches for the mug full of hot coffee, taking a generous sip. His button up feels almost immediately too hot, body warming up due to the hot beverage. He rolls up his sleeves without a second thought, arms covered in little doodles on full display to anyone in the bullpen who decides to look at them.

"Hey, pretty boy. Did you see- are those hearts?" Derek approaches his desk with a teasing smile already making it's way to his lips. Spencer scrambles to cover his arms up, clumsy pulling his sleeves down.

"Did i see what?" He feigns innocence, crossing his arms over his chest as he's way too nervous to actually button up the sleeves. There's no way he's going to out the relationship he's been hiding for a good few months because of some doodles.

"Oh no, you're not running away from this. Why have you got cute drawings all over your arms, uh?" He teases even further, trying to take a peek at the skin under Spencer's button up.

Your gaze immediately shoots up to them once you realize what Derek is referring to, quickly faking a normal expression once you realize your eyes have widened. You pretend to be looking at the files in your table, waiting for the answer. Your table is not far from his so you really have to keep it cool.

"I uh- i was bored and drew them." Spencer says the first excuse that comes to mind and realizes rather quickly how bad it sounds. His neck turns red and it soon spreads to his cheeks and ears too.

"You want me to believe you were bored and decided to draw hearts and butterflies on your arms? Sure, Reid." He chuckles, making sure to give him a hard time.

"Aw, does my sweet boy genius have a girlfriend?" Penelope snoops in, a less teasing and more bright smile on her lips.

"It sounds like he does. Unless he's suddenly ambidextrous and is able to draw perfect hearts on both of his arms." Emily comments, just as interested to make Spencer flustered as Derek.

"I- What if i am?!" Spencer's voice comes out a tad bit squeakier than intended, facade crumbling very easily. He looks at you almost desperately, trying to find a way out of this interrogation without having to reveal your relationship.

"Come on guys, leave the poor boy alone." Rossi saves him before you can, but he seems just as curious as the rest of them. Raised eyebrows and looking directly at him.

"Do you know anything about this, gorgeous?" Derek turns his gaze to you. Spencer gulps nervously, trying to act as normal as possible now that you're also about to be involved.

"Me? Why would i know?" You question a bit too defensively. Lying isn't exactly your forte and now that everyone is looking at you, it feels even harder.

"Wait- do i sense jealously?" It now feels like you're the next chosen victim to their interrogation. You might have aimed for careless but it definitely came off as defensive and bothered.

"You really don't." You roll your eyes as you answer, noticing the way Spencer gives you an apologetical look. You smile for long enough so that he notices but quick enough so no on else sees it.

"I think we do." Rossi agrees with Derek.

You sigh exasperatedly, hand coming to rub your forehead. What you don't notice is the way your shirt rids down, exposing your also covered arm.

"Oh my god- she has them too!" Penelope gasps, not holding back the surprise.

You wonder how they hadn't figured out you and Spencer are dating before. You both aren't exactly great liars and it was just a matter of time until someone caught one of your stollen kisses on the workplace.

"Oops?" You mutter out, cheeks painfully hot as you give up on trying to hide it. There's no way they would believe any kind of excuse now.

"Can't say i'm surprised." Emily is the first to say anything, leaving to go back to her desk as if nothing had happened.

"I'm so happy for you guys." Penelope ruffles Spencer's hair with a smile that's definitely making her cheeks hurt, while Derek resumes to shaking his head with a chuckle.

Spencer gives you a lopsided smile and you quickly realize he's trying to know if you're okay with all of it. You nod with a smile of your own, fingers tracing the doodles on your arm.

Hey I found that one BT blog and this answer is even better. The question they got was basically why don't Buddie shippers remember that the original plan for Eddie was Maddie, and why don't we understand that's proof Buddie has never been the plan. They also went on a rant about the date scene from the finale. The ask also mentioned being blocked by Ryan and Oliver and threw in some Ryan/Oliver hate so just a heads up!

A. Hi anon! Okay you're correct, and I believe it was Jennifer herself (I could be wrong) that let us know the original plan was Eddie/Maddie but she lobbied hard for Chimney (go Jen!) and it means absolutely nothing. I hope that doesn't sound mean but it has no bearing whatsoever on anything at all. Nothing. Buddie doesn't have to have always been the plan to go canon. It can go that way if the natural trajectory of the story and characters lead things that way. And right now that looks like where it's going. I could be wrong, but it feels like that's what's coming. I mean Eddie and Maddie aren't even friends at this point, lol. I can't remember the last time they even had a scene together. I know both Ryan and Jennifer said they wanted more Eddie/Maddie interaction, which might mean they know they're going to have scenes together in the coming season. I hope they do, it's weird that they haven't interacted more. And none of that has anything at all to do with Tommy. I'm not at all sure what you mean by that? There is no Tommy connection running through the history of this show. That is not a thing. Yes he has history on the show but not to every character on this show. And certainly not to the degree you're trying to imply.

I have zero idea why people are choosing the finale date scene as their Tommy hill to die on. It was a terrible scene. It was wildly out of place in the context of that episode, and people should be willing to admit that. It was unequivocally and universally panned. The journalists who review and cover the show, the general audience, no one understood or liked that scene. The fact that Tim had to come out and flat out tell us it was supposed to be flirting is embarrassing. And tells you everything you need to know about how hard of a dud that scene was. We have all seen Buck flirt. And that wasn't even close. And it felt entirely out of character for Buck in every possible way. A lot of it can be pinned to K, who is a terrible writer in general, but, in my opinion, has never known how to actually write Buck. I also think Oliver wasn't trying to make it flirty, which maybe if he had tried it would have helped some but he clearly wasn't going for flirty. The episode as a whole was abysmal and that scene was no different. There is no need to pretend otherwise.

Now I'm going to lecture. I haven't seen a single Buddie shipper excuse Ryan's past comment. Not a single one, I'm sure someone somewhere has, but I haven't seen it. What I have seen is plenty of excuses offered for Lou's problematic history. What Ryan said was wrong, flat out inexcusably wrong. And guess what? He owned it. Publicly. He made a public apology and clearly worded himself. You can tell between then and now he's grown as a person. You only need to look at his relationship with Aisha to know that. We don't tear down or try to erase someone's personal growth to excuse the behavior of someone else. That's not how life works. You don't get to diminish Ryan's growth and personal journey to make you feel better about Lou's twitter history. Lou could have addressed things, and he chose not to. Actually he chose to go radio silent. Whether that turns out to be work related or not remains to be seen. I'm sorry you're upset that you've been blocked by Ryan, but if you sent him what you sent me in this ask, I can see why he blocked you. I also don't think it should be surprising that Oliver also blocked you. I don't think they're sitting around talking about Tommy fans like you're saying, but it wouldn't at all surprise me if they're sharing certain things they're being sent. They're friends. They're going to talk. They're allowed to be friends. You're not the first person who's mentioned being blocked by both of them. They are both huge mental health advocates and them blocking nasty comments should surprise no one. It is surprising, and incredibly disappointing, to kind of see how many people they appear to have had to block though. Look the bottom line is the story has already been decided. Whatever the direction is won't be altered by being assholes to the cast. And if we did have any kind of power to change things, which we don't, being openly hostile toward, and an asshole to, the main cast, would accomplish the opposite of what you want.

This is an out there question but out of the cast of twst which characters can you picture becoming serial murderers? If so, what type (i.e lust killer, power/control etc…) and how would the murders be (planned, clinical, ritualistic, etc.)

Anon! It took so long for me to finally write this post, but I’ve been excited about your prompt ever since you sent it lol Screwed up questions are always a joy to come up with answers to with this cast, so I hope I managed to write something that was worth waiting for.

I’ll also note that we do have a hc list about twst boys murdering for the first time, and while I won’t reference this post here too much, some of the ideas for this post feel like a continuation/result of the unfortunate circumstances some of the characters found themselves in that first post. I also feel like some of these boys don’t fit the role very much, but I’ll mention it when I write about them!

That being said, let’s profile these assholes~

Riddle – pretty easy one: he’d be someone who sentences people to death for disobeying the law, so technically his Unique Magic thing but more aggressive. There are actually a bunch of options for him; it could literally be him abusing Off With Your Head, or he could end up being a judge or a prosecutor who has a reputation of sentencing people to death a lot… Of course, he would feel like it’s justified, and sometimes it would really be justified by an actual law, but I would still technically call him a serial murderer for that lol But if he isn’t in any way related to law or authority and ends up being a doctor, he could still abuse his power there and kill off those who he considers to be criminals. To be completely honest though, I don’t think Riddle is super likely to end up like this, but if he does it once, he might struggle with guilt and double down on this kind of just punishment super hard.

Ace – I don’t think he would do end up being a serial killer unless his circumstances force him to. I see him as someone who could get in huge trouble when he gets older, like shady stuff with creditors for example, but he still wouldn’t want to take someone else’s life. Still, if it’s either you or the guy who came to steal your kidneys to sell them, you’ll end up cutting the guy’s throat with a knife given a chance, and then escape. What would make Ace a serial murderer is that he would have to kill off a bunch of guys to be completely “free”. So I guess he’s fighting for his own freedom by actually reaping the fruits of his own mistakes.

Deuce – he would either kill someone on accident and then either run forever or turn himself to the police (hence not becoming a serial killer) or actually in a weird twist of fate become someone who is a vigilante of sorts. Deuce might actually end up thinking that this is his only way to pay for his missteps as a young delinquent. Of course, Deuce doesn’t really want to kill, and at first he would spare everyone, believing that they would learn their lesson, but after that time he’ll think that he has no other choice. He could do it with delinquent gangs, or, if he works for the police, he’d do it with actual criminals. But he would still have some principles – he would only kill those who ended someone else’s life, or at least did something very horrible.

Trey – there he is, our first “killing to protect someone” guy! The worst version of Trey would probably go very far trying to protect Riddle from those who try to overthrow him, or even give him any kind of critique. He knows that this is wrong, but this is the choice he made: the first murder would be very justified in his head, very forced and necessary, but after that point he’d just go further and further down the rabbit hole. He would be very careful about it though, and no one would suspect him for a very long time. He wouldn’t poison anyone with food, that’s too obvious, but he would definitely use his scientific knowledge.

Cater – there was one guy who moved a lot and changed a lot of schools and was unhappy with his family life that ended up trying to blow up a school to feel anything because we live in a society (yes JD from Heathers), so my go-to is to think that there is this worm in Cater’s head that sometimes tells him to do something horrible, but this doesn’t necessarily mean that he would blow up NRC lol You know, maybe it’s more of an American Psycho situation. No one would ever think that I am the one doing it even though I am not even hiding it very well, so I continue doing it. Or something? To be honest, I’m 50/50 on that one.

Leona – he doesn’t have any big ideas and he definitely isn’t forced to do it, and knowing Leona’s luck, he probably wouldn’t be able to pull off an American Psycho situation either. Even if Falena covers up his crimes, it wouldn’t really help Leona gain anything, so it doesn’t make much sense… I think if Leona starts killing people off left and right, he would mostly do it out of boredom and frustration.

Ruggie – he would work as someone who cares for elderly, but only the rich ones, and then would poison them little by little over a long period of time by adjusting their dosage of medicine. He would pick grandpas and grandmas who have turbulent relationship with their kids, and then somehow frame the kids for the death, getting a bunch of money from the deal. This is just one thing Ruggie could do for money though; of course he prefers to work within the system and work hard And smart, but he is also perfectly aware that the system is rotten and someone is going to take advantage of that. And that someone might as well be him~

Jack – another vigilante, but if Deuce hunts down criminals, Jack would hunt down those who work within the system and are the reason it’s rotting. So corrupt policemen, rich assholes, even very powerful people: those who are making things worse for others in Jack’s own mind (he has his own idea of justice…) are his targets. He also really wants to be calm, clean and collected about it, but I also see him as someone whose emotions would take over, and he wouldn’t stop even after the guy is already dead.

Azul – either power or pettiness, or ideally both – Azul loves to multitask, after all. Killing some guy that disrespected him and getting his business and wealth as a bonus? Perfect scenario for Azul. He wouldn’t mind trample on others for his own gain, and his tactics are pretty predatory, so at some point it might start involving ending someone else’s life, but one thing to note is that Azul rarely does anything by himself. He is very creative with the ways he wants his enemies to go (the tweels love his sick ideas), but he would rather order others to kill than dirty his own hands.

Jade and Floyd – a rare occasion when I write about them together, but they are almost the same when it comes to this topic: they mostly do it for funsies. That includes coming up with new ways to end someone else’s life (this is why Azul’s ideas are the best), playing with new toys (Jade has a big collection of weaponry, Floyd loves using whatever lies around), or even just killing time. But these days they try to pace themselves because otherwise this whole thing becomes terribly dull and boring, so their go-to is to either wait for a very good occasion, or for Azul to give them a new mission.

Kalim – wait a minute, this guy isn’t a serial killer, he’s a cereal killer! 🥰 Sorry, I had to make this joke once. In all seriousness, I don’t see Kalim becoming a serial killer, buuut if we’re bending canon to force a sunshine boy to do horrible stuff, he would either do it in a situation similar to Ace’s (got kidnapped, was forced to shoot everyone), and absolutely hate it because he really wants bad people to become better and is very forgiving… or he would get so deeply disappointed in bad people not becoming better that his brain would completely melt and he would start going “… it can’t be helped, can it?”. But once again, one really has to bend canon and put Kalim through a lot for this to happen.

Jamil – a vigilante whose only mission is to protect himself lol I can see a scenario in which Jamil starts killing off influential people out of spite. He could never kill Kalim or anyone from the Asim family, but he has no relation to other families or wealthy colleagues of Kalim’s father, and he hates their greedy grease faces so much that killing them is actually a huge stress relief. But also, his killing off Kalim’s potential assassins and other mercenaries who try to attack him would also count as serial murdering…

Vil – I think he would start out as an impulsive killer who let his emotion and stress take over. And it doesn’t even have to be with Neige, he might “accidentally” (i.e. he didn’t think the punch was that hard) kill off someone rando who was harassing him, and then after that point he’ll start doing it from time to time. Of course, he would suffer from guilt, but overtime he’ll try to dull this emotion with more killings. He believes that he only kills those who are doing bad things with young actors in the industry, but he did kill a couple of nasty and obnoxious guys who were pretty much his stalkers. The difference is just that he poisons the first ones and tries to make it as clean as possible, and he gets very emotional with the second ones.

Rook – this guy is all over the place, and yet in his head he has this whole thing figured out. He honours people that he kills, he takes the flower from a young and blooming tree to make sure that its beauty lives forever between the pages of his diary… Rook Hunt has a lot of weird ideas, and I can see him as all kinds of serial killer: he could create installations with people’s dead bodies, he could consume people for food and use their hair and skin for craft, he could literally put a body in a glass case and freeze it or taxidermy it, he could punish those who, unfortunately, only steal from other’s beauty and thus aren’t beautiful at all… I guess Rook Hunt is an amalgamation of every criminal from Hannibal TV series lol

Epel – pretty similar to Ace, I think. He definitely needs to be put in a horrible situation in which he doesn’t have much of a choice but to kill. But also I think after some point he would start feeling so helpless and weak that he would become more aggressive, and maybe even start taking it out on people who are completely unrelated to his troubles, just to make himself feel at least a little bit powerful. He is pretty good at cutting and is pretty fast, also good at hiding, but he is also sloppy, so he’ll get caught pretty soon. The world will be charmed by the image of a pretty boy doing horrible things… and then they’ll give him a stupid nickname and he’ll get mad lol This is your true punishment, Epel.

Idia – I don’t think he would be capable of becoming a serial murderer, not only because of his psyche, but also because of the logistics – it’s easy to do a lot of things to ruin someone else’s life while sitting in front of your pc in your dusty dark room, but it’s not easy to murder someone like that. I mean, he could hire an assassin on darkweb… or maybe he could create a virus that explodes phones and computers. Never mind, where there is a will, there is a way lol But in terms of will, I think Idia would only do something like that if he feels like he has no other choice, i.e. if he (or Ortho) is getting severely bullied. He does joke about killing off everyone who mischaracterises his favourite anime girl though lol

Ortho – a little yandere. We’ve seen him being willing to murder a bunch of people for Idia’s sake multiple times now, and it was just him being silly lol While he learns more empathy and starts to value others more overtime, his number one priority is still Idia, and he would easily be willing to anything to protect him… or simply out of jealousy!

Lilia – he already had his share of serial murders, our local mister war criminal lol And given how much time he had to reflex on his past and on the life and death in general, I don’t think he would go for it right now. But he isn’t a saint and it’s not like he would avoid murder at all cost, so I can see him easily killing off a bunch of people while trying to protect Malleus or Silver or, in case of Malleus, to take revenge for dishonouring or even just disrespecting him.

Silver – he wouldn’t! He is a good boy that values life too much. I think he is one person in NRC who is aware of his ability to kill (he has to protect Malleus, after all), but would do anything to avoid it at all cost.

Sebek – while generally he isn’t super bloodthirsty (surprisingly), he would get bloodthirsty real quick if Malleus himself or his honour is in danger, or if Sebek feels like it is. Yeah, pretty similar to Lilia, but Sebek is much more hot-headed, much less mature and much messier in general. It’s possible for Sebek to become a version of himself that kills people off for Malleus’ sake even without Malleus asking him to. Malleus could not even be aware of that person existence, and Sebek would think that he has this duty to “clean”. He is a fanatic, and while he is super loyal and obedient, he is also very entitled and acts according to ideas in his head (including fae superiority). Similarly to Riddle though, he would partially do it to dull the feeling of “oh no I did something horrible”, but a lot of it would genuinely be his desire to serve Malleus in the best way possible and to eliminate everyone who doesn’t share his adoration of him.

Malleus – pettiness. I don’t think Malleus would do something like that out of any major reason or great idea, the only thing that someone powerful like him really needs is pettiness. He also isn’t just some guy that hangs out in his basement sharpening knives; the scale of his actions would be massive. The worst version of Malleus murders people for fun, out of spite, to command others’ attention, completely on a whim, fully embracing his god complex and somehow being a spoiled brat at the same time. He might come up with some Great Idea of course, he might even start thinking about fae being superior do other beings, but all of that would just be pretty words to cover the fact that he is very petty and deeply unhappy. This Malleus combined with previously described Sebek would be a very dangerous combo…

Will it be possible to romance a RO without flirting w/ them? Is it possible to flirt w/ everyone (but this specific RO) or just like one RO and even so end up in a relationship w/ a different RO? I'm thinking of playing a mc that is really attracted physically to people like Zhan but he's been in love w/ Oswin since forever. And he thinks flirting is for when you're playing w/ someone (even tho he's probably seen his parents flirting constantly lol), but since he loves Oswin he doesn't need to play, he can just be genuine. But he still thinks he has no chance w/ Oswin, so he flirts with Zhan (without moving on 😭). But I also feel kinda sad about Zhan I don't wanna hurt their feelings😭 if we flirt w/ them and maybe hook up are they gonna be sad if we get w/ someone else?? 😞 Cause like my mc will start to genuinely care about them but won't be in love pls let's just be besties who used to have benefits🥺 Also if this whole situation is possible, how would Oswin react to it?? Hello Anon-dear! If your ask is a bit long to read-that's fine, if it's long to answer, that's where I'll need to pause for the time being. That's where I get hung up and distracted, lol. I'm still taking those too, it's still Friday somewhere, lol.

To answer your question, it will absolutely be possible to romance someone without flirting. The "flirt" options are passively tracked just so I can program certain flirty responses that will be directed back to the MC by those ROs (it's a way for me to track if it's okay with reader/MC so I'm not directing like super suggestive come-ons towards them that aren't okay).

I absolutely love how you're going to play your MC. That's part of the reason I wanted to do things this way. The way I play my MCs sometimes makes flirting almost out of character for them, but of course I'd want the romance, lol.

Your MC will be free to flirt and do some other things with Zahn (they are all kinds of okay with that, lol) and then lock-in with Oswin later - no flirting required.

Zahn will be totally fine if your MC doesn't end up with them. They and Duri are both good with physical-only and flirty relationships. Your MC will make selections as they go about how they feel about each potential suitor, and the hook-up ROs will have a selection that you can choose if this is just for fun or if it's got some feelings attached (whether your MC is fully aware or not). [Lucky for your MC, I added a light spicey scene for Zahn in chapter 3 if they so choose] :D

If Oswin is aware of relations between the MC and others, he's going to feel a little strange about it and be concerned (for MC's well-being because he cannot help himself, lol). Mainly, things like that aren't his bag, but he also knows that for many people physical and romantic relationships can be separate. He's more concerned with having his lover's heart above all else, so ultimately he will be okay with it. For MCs that have been involved with the hook-ups, particularly the ROs, Oswin may have a harder time digesting that the MC is choosing him to remain with. (He may feel that the connection between the MC and Zahn/Duri was deeper and never considered that the MC would ever go for him). It will be an interesting conversation for sure (one that the programming for is already frightening me, lol).

So for the sake of having a nice narrative, at the start of this little post, the reader and Death are just acquaintances. Thank you for sending in this request!

You are living your best life as the Dragon Warrior. You're defending the valley, have five awesome new best friends, have one very cool kung fu master as your teacher (who was going to teach you all about inner peace!), and also your parent is still running the best noodle shop in the valley.

Also there's that one wolf guy: Death.

Sometimes he shows up when you're defending the valley, sometimes he doesn't. But whenever you see him, you're both glad to see each other. At least, you think he's glad to see you. Kind of hard to tell since you usually see him wearing his hood.

When you and the Five are sent to stop a gang of bandits, you're reminded that not all wolves are nice.

And you have a flashback of another panda, just like you.

Death appears (again). Normally, you'd be startled by his presence, but you're still reeling from the memory. He's Death, but he can't read minds, so you brush him off and gather the gang to head back home.

Sidenote: Yes, Death was there when your biological parent died. Yes, he could (and would) tell you more about them if you asked. But he hasn't put together the dots that you're remembering your past.

You ask your parent about your past, and now you're a bit shaken, having learned you're adopted and still having questions your parent can't give you answers to, but WHOOPSIES time for a quest.

(*Shrek the Musical Fiona voice*: Skip ahead, skip ahead, skip ahead-)

When you're out sitting on the boat to Gongmen City, you hear familiar whistling. It's Death. Initially, you freak out because now you're wondering if someone is going to die. But he clarifies that no one is dying. Yet. He confesses that he's been breaking a few rules recently, but he wants to check on you because you seem...troubled.

You talk about your nightmare.

For a minute, you're worried you've wasted his time. He's frowning and looking ahead on the river, thoughtful. "Sorry, that was a lot. I should let you get back to work doing your whole Death thing. I just...I don't really know where I belong. And it's not a great feeling. What did I do...for my parents to leave me?"

And the wolf stands up and shakes his head, quietly swearing under his breath. The things he does for love. "Mind if I tell you something?" You nod, curious. "I was there. When your parent left you in that crate." "Oh. Wait...does that mean..." "That doesn't matter right now." "Of course it matters! They could be-"' He grabs your shoulder. "Listen. They loved you very much. Both of your parents. They did what they needed to out of their love for you." "But why? And what happened to them?"

He is conveniently interrupted by the sight of Gongmen City and the Five waking up from sleep. He vanishes into the night.

You and the Five sneak into the city and see all the wolves. You're getting really sick of these guys. You try to get Rhino and Croc out, they can't leave because of the weapon, you run into the wolf boss again and you're all caught.

(Why can't these guys be more like Death? you think to yourself as you're climbing the many....many stairs in Shen's palace.)

And speak of the devil, you spot him in the shadows when you meet Shen for the first time. He looks more that displeased, paws firmly gripping his sickle handles. But he can't interfere in anything can he? Not after doing so much for you recently. You can't help but wonder if you're going to die right then and there in front of the canon. But Mantis saves you all and there goes the canon. Boom!

You try to get to Shen but you have another flashback. Shen escapes, and Death interferes again to get you and the Five out of the tower. You guys were having too many near death experiences for his taste. You all regroup together.

Once again, you are having an identity crisis, and Tigris tells you to stay behind, telling Death to keep an eye on you to make sure you don't do anything that'll get you killed.

Luckily for you, that's not in his job description.

"I don't take orders from anyone. Especially mortals." he sighs. The wolf nudges you with a wink. "Alright then, Dragon Warrior. Go. I won't tell."

Honestly, I think if I were going to give Death an arc this 'x reader' ver of KFP2, it would be the conflict between his duty to let the everything pan out and not interfere before he needs to take souls to the spirit world, and his own desire to engage in mortal life (ie. protect you) and talk to them and learn more about them (ie. you). He's already interfered so many times, and he can tell the cosmic balance was getting a little bit out of sorts. But...

Death decides to stay back during the fight, lurking in the shadows and doing his job properly. But he is shocked when Shen tells you that your parents didn't love you. And he loses it when you nearly die again to Shen.

He carries you out of the river and looks around desperately for help. He's Death. Death can't be afraid of anything or of anyone. Death shouldn't feel fear. But right now...he's terrified. He knows everyone dies at some point. It was inevitable. But was uncertain was whether or not him being there could actually lead to your death. If you died, would it have been because he interfered and got too close?

He follows the river away from Shen and the Five, and he makes it to the Soothsayer. The Soothsayer is vaguely aware that Death is someone from beyond the mortal world, but he rests you at her feet and tells her to help you.

When you recover, it takes both of them talking to you in order for you to recover your memories and achieve inner peace. When the Soothsayer tells you that your present actions define who you are, something resonates with Death.

He joins you, the Five, and the Masters in the final fight in Gongmen. Cosmic law be damned, Death says no to weapons of mass destruction. He's going to let his actions define him and how he approaches his relationships.

Yeah, no. Seeing you make the water droplet technique your own made him fall even harder for you.

And once again, I have a link to swanpit's art because 1. This art is hilarious and beautiful and 2. I think seeing Shen and Death interact like this would be lovely and fits this fic.

But yes. Our Dragon Warrior achieves inner peace and Death is becoming more and more of his own person aside from literally being Death.

Also: on the trip back to the valley, Death tags along. And he may or may not try to indirectly ask you out to dinner. You say "Sure! Let's head to my parent's place!" and his tail is thumping on the boat's deck, causing it to tip a little. Needless to say, he's excited.

Changing timeline things from the first post so that they now occur after KFP2:

At this point, he starts showing up more frequently, during and outside of battles, and he seems more relaxed around you. And you come to learn that his presence doesn't always mean someone's going to die. He just wants to visit. (And after so long observing how people live and die, he has a chance to try living for himself.)

He starts dragging you away from training to get a meal together in town or to go on a nice walk in the mountains.

When Shifu complains, Death shrugs. "Alright then." He draws his weapons, snapping the sickles together and forming his staff. "Let's continue the Dragon Warrior's training then."

Plenty of sparring practice and playful banter between the two of you. It's so much fun for the both of you, and you start tag-teaming during battles. He joins you and the Five in your fights, always sure to use just a fraction of his strength as to not kill everyone in his path. But he reaps souls if need be.

And after all of this, in a shocking turn of events, you are the one to confess your love to Death.

And after all of this, he can confidently reciprocate that love.

Would you mind too terribly if I asked a follow up question?

Mostly curious about how Link would handle it if you (reader) quite literally are the type to not want to talk to strangers unless it can't be helped. The type who would literally fall right into all of his categories of 'safe' to not leave tied up somewhere. Only here's the catch- also a little bit manipulative with the knowledge of his yandere-ness? Like... Aware he views most people interacting with you as a threat of you possibly leaving so you do things like sit in his lap and play with his hair while talking to the other person. He's still getting attention but you're also still talking to someone whenever you actually need to talk to someone.

Link getting constant verbal praise and being told you don't plan on leaving him so he can just keep calm (and carry on lol).

Something of a sort of working together to curb those tendencies sort of deal? He tries his hardest to not be unfair since you were so willing to go with him but at the same time you know some things won't ever change really and try and accommodate/keep him calm in certain situations. You're stuck with him so you may as well make it as comfortable as you can right?

How would he handle that? Would he ever catch on that that's what you're doing? Would he approve of it or be less trusting of you after he finds out you're doing it to help keep him placated?

Sorry for taking so long to answer this I lost the will to write for a long time. Still, I'm here now and this man still lives rent free in my head. I love the idea of both hard yanderes and soft yanderes and I think several different Links fall on different parts of the scale. I may talk about the chain and that au as a whole here soon but that's a lot for right now.

What to do with himself. It was the rollercoaster of emotions Link hated the most. Taking time to himself and figuring out who he was when alone wasn't the issue. The hero could deal with working on himself as a person. Rather it was the up and downs his heart sent him on. No regular person knew or talked about love like this. Even the most recent and tame feelings felt like he was at his core wrong. 

You assured him you didn't mind his actions and that he was ok but no matter how many sweet words you offered when you left to go to town this morning he had to leave the house to not be driven mad. It was a genuine struggle not to follow you out to the market. Sure hiding in the boring alleys wasn't the best way to spend his time, but it would be time spent with you. Sort of. Not really. It didn't have the same effect.

So he bit his tongue, nodded, and took a walk. Wallowing in the troubled waters of his own emotions. Taking deep breaths and listening to the sounds of nature to ground himself. You never intentionally spent so long away from him. Something just didn't feel right not having you by his side. He was bleeding from a wound he never knew he had until you walked away.

Which was the issue. You rarely left his side. Rare occurrences could be forgiven but what was he to do with the emotions? Link sighed and struggled to figure out if an honest traditional relationship was good for him or not. Monsters could kill you. Nightmares of your death plagued his mind. Even as he made his way back home he could only remind himself of your might and that the world wasn't as bad as he thought.

It felt like a curse was lifted when he opened the front door to see you standing in the kitchen chopping vegetables. He grinned from ear to ear as he watched you cut the food and add it to the pot. He moved around you and set a pot of water to boil for tea. Something to help calm his nerves. You placed a kiss on each cheek and it reminded him why he was so in love with you to begin with.

This has been the longest he's gone without acting on his impulses since he first met you. It was both rewarding and daunting. Each time his feelings came up they got harder and harder to ignore. What if you realized how strange he was and really did leave? This line of reasoning only made it harder to calm himself.

Yet that wasn't an issue when he was with you. The fear just sort of dissipated as he settled by your side as you worked the knife back and forth. Talking was never Link’s strong suit and he loved not having to talk around you. Somehow you always knew what it was that was on his mind. Like clockwork you moved over to him and placed your head on his shoulder. Releasing him of whatever weight had settled on his shoulders.

The old problem with familiarity, he couldn't go back to the way it was before. You tw knew each other too well. This was just proof that he was meant to be with you. He would stay good if only he could have a hundred more moments like these. 

Then came a voice. A small cynical thought that rocked the calm waters of his mind.

If we take them then we never have to worry. If we mark them before they have a chance to leave we never have to worry. He sighed audibly. You leaned against him. Right on cue there you were. Making him feel almost cheesy. You reacted to the stress that you saw on him, and it almost relaxed him again. A voice shook him in horror; if we seem distressed we can get more affection.

He shook his head. This was insane!

Your hand went to touch his cheek and he moved away. Checking the pot by the stove instead. Busying himself with the thought of tea. Maybe if you didn't touch him you wouldn't be stained as well.  For once his heart existed outside his body. It was amazing and terrifying. Something to be experienced with care, not to treat like a toy.

a little snippet below that I wrote almost as an outline for what was above;

I can see Link being the type to both love and hate the feeling of being manipulated. It depends on your reasoning for it. It can't be helped; he plans for the worst and expects the best. Years of training tells him that he needs to be on the safe side, and his heart says you're too good to lose. The leash stays tight until he can be sure.

It isn't until you talk with him he feels bad. He knows these feelings can't be helped and it isn't his fault. You brush the worst parts of him aside and love him regardless, willingly, and without hesitation. And there he goes slipping into the idea you can't feel afraid of him. He takes your hands into his and apologizes to you. Asking if there's any way you can forgive him for being so abrasive.

Time passes and the two of you work together. it gets to the point that he doesn't mind it as much. Bit by bit he finds himself slipping. Longer walks, more time you spend is away from his eyes, and the actions taken by you all show him he’s safe. He worries but he starts to find himself worrying a little less. 

So he does nothing but express concern with his eyes and holds you close. Each word cuts close to his heart and he can't help it. You're just so… out there for him. He's never lost someone so close and not paid for it dearly. He will lose you one day, but not today. It could never be today.

how does your mc handle the whole NB plot of pretending to be a demon and everyone forgetting who they are (cept' good ol' sol) ...and living domestically with solomon as a result as well

An interesting question, anon!

By the time the NB events happen, Ciaran has come to care about all of the characters, including Solomon. They find the whole pretending to be a demon thing kinda fun, but they miss the versions of the characters who remember them. They struggle with missing those old versions quite a bit. Ciaran can be a bit of a handful and I don't think they'd normally be suited to a job as devilsitter lol. So for them, having a group of friends (practically family) who all finally understand them as a person is a big deal. The OG characters understand Ciaran's chaos and why it exists, so they understand Ciaran in a way that would be completely lost when sent back in time. Ciaran struggles with that because they still care about everyone, but it's painful to feel like you have to start over.

I also think Ciaran has a hard time remembering that these versions of the characters don't remember them. Like I'm imagining them all at dinner or something and Ciaran says something that was an inside joke with one of the bros but that bro doesn't remember it and is just like ??? because of course it makes no sense out of context. And Ciaran just being like oops and then going home and getting sad about it.

Living with Solomon might have been a huge issue for Ciaran previously, but by the time they're in NB, they've come to care deeply about him, too. In fact, I would say Ciaran has an even closer relationship with Solomon because they didn't like him originally. Realizing you were wrong about someone can make you love them even more, I think.

This means that Ciaran would likely ask Solomon a lot of questions about what's really going on. Far more than they let you in the actual game. Ciaran would likely have a full on breakdown upon realizing they'd been sent into the past. They would have a real explosion and probably yell at Solomon a lot. They would feel bad about it later and apologize, but Ciaran is a little volatile and their way of handling things is often to get loud about it.

So while I think Ciaran would depend on Solomon a lot during this time, I also think they'd get into arguments with him a lot. They don't like being manipulated and that's basically what Nightbringer is doing. Ciaran's response to stuff like that is to take action and confront things head on. They wouldn't really like trying to make pacts with the brothers without telling them the truth. They would do what Solomon says is the best thing to do, but they wouldn't like it and they'd probably argue with him about it.

Fortunately, I think Solomon also understands Ciaran fairly well at this point. He might get frustrated with Ciaran sometimes, but I think he would understand that Ciaran is just trying to deal with this new situation. And in the end, I think Ciaran would need Solomon. They don't do well on their own and having Solomon as the only one who remembers them would be a big deal.

I don't really have Ciaran falling in love with any of the characters at this point. Mostly because I think they could fall in love with several of the characters and it would just depend. So I think about things in a more general platonic sense.

But if Ciaran was going to fall in love with Solomon (which I think they could), it would probably happen at this point if it hadn't already in the OG.

ofc he’s not in the show (yet? at all? who knows!!) but within your series you have reader babey take daeron as a ward on Dragonstone, which places him far closer to team black than he originally was in the books. so I was just wondering if you had any plans yet (that you’re able to share) about Daerons allegiance moving forward.

so these are just a few little questions I have, totes understand if you can’t answer them cause of spoilers: do you plan to have Daeron switch sides so that he stays true to his Green-allegiance in the books, or will you have him diverge from his book counterpart and swear fealty to Nyra? would Daeron go back to Alicent and the greens at any point so that he would be loyal to Aegon once Viserys kicks the can? does Tessarion exist within ur fic (sorry if it’s already been stated that she does and I’m just forgetting) and do you have plans for her?

Hello, Rhaenyra Stan! It's so lovely to hear from you! I'm so thrilled you're reaching out, and I'm so happy you've been enjoying the fic!

To be quite honest, my plans concerning Daeron tend to fluctuate between him remaining a somewhat neutral party (think sending him to the Vale with the lil kids) or as a fully-fledged Blacks member. I think it'd add some really interesting additional conflict and a cool sub-plot in that Daeron has to war with his full-blood relatives in favour of his half-blood relatives. Tessarion does exist! She's mentioned in the third instalment, I wanna say.... Chapter 9? In the convo Reader has with Alicent on Driftmark just after the funeral.

I can't spoil the end of the fic, unfortunately, but I think the ending will be a just one for our principal character. That's all I'll really say there. And I do want to have Babey fighting given who she rides, but I'm still thinking through where exactly I want to place her in the grand scheme of things. I'm hesitant to have her replace anyone's role in any notable conflicts, but that also means I have to come up with some sort of sub-plot or deviation to give her a meaningful battle scene that doesn't detract from the original characters, but ALSO does justice to the Cannibal given his aggression and intimidation factor. To kill someone or not to kill someone? And who? Is it tides-turning? Hm. I'm not good with military planning, so I'll probs be bugging the audience with random questions at 4am on a Saturday about it, lol.

my general opinion on asks with possibly questionable subject matter- including pregnancy one- is that you might as well send it! i have a few caveats to this i realized recently that i don't really like hearing about my readers sexual gratification all that much, stuff like "oh my god this chapter made me so wet" vs "oh my god this chapter was so hot," like there are lines that i'm not always willing to cross when responding to asks- but most of the time if it is something that pricks my feelings in the wrong way then i'll just not answer it! you just have to promise me that you won't be hurt or hold it against me if i don't answer!

you can be whatever emoji you wanna be! although i will say i do recognize peoples @'s and profile pictures more easily if recognizability is what you want! although i understand not everyone is comfortable with that! i try to make the effort to only visit peoples blogs if i'm invited, like if someone reblogs something of mine with a comment or if they tag me in it! i dont do this because i don't care, i do it cuz i know it can make some readers a little bit nervous if they think im going to check who they are or judge them.i promise i wont if you decide to come off anon!

Hey, I'm the original 25 y/o anon and respectfully, I feel that you may have misunderstood my ask. The comparison to narcissism is a bit uncalled for, though maybe that wasn't your intention. I don't 100% agree with everything you've said, but I do understand where you've come from. I do still firmly believe that no, there is no official timeline. That's silly in my eyes. Not everyone is handed the same deck with the same privileges, experiences and opportunities. Everybody also faces curveballs too and many of them. Does that mean that they can't achieve happiness and make the best of themselves, despite arriving later to things compared to their more privileged peers? No, of course not. I've done the work and proven that to myself this year. Despite the poverty and years of trauma, I'm finally going to college to study something I'm deeply passionate about and learning to value myself and seek out healthier relationships. I'm my own evidence to prove that life doesn't have to become jaded and meaningless, just because age may be unconventional accoridng to stereotypes and capitalism. With respect, I'm sure you weren't intending to invalidate others nor throw out insults! I'm sorry to hear about your friend and her issues with having children. That's a very unfortunate thing to happen to her and I hope she finds fulfilment elsewhere if necessary, I just wanted to clear up any misunderstandings if there were any and I wish you a wonderful weekend. Also, just to add, I don't accept being painted as naive. My life has been LONG lol and I've learned a lot the hard way. I am an experienced adult, but I may have wrongly misinterpreted you too! No hard feelings at all, just clearing the air and I hope I haven't accidentally brought negativity to you or your ask box, it wasn't my intention. Just wanted to share my new found lease on life, which I think everyone is deserving of.

So, just as like a blanket statement: if I'm responding to an ask, I'm only directly addressing the asker. My "it's narcissistic" comment wasn't meant to retroactively apply to you -- only to the person who left the ask implying that having a worldview that's anything other than "you can do anything at any point" is pessimistic.

In truth, I don't know why you sent the original ask or what you were responding to, because I've long since made peace with where I'm at in life and the opportunities I've missed, which is why I only talked about the saying in a general sense instead of having a more pointed conversation.

The "no official timeline" thing is something that I think is good to have in the back of your mind when you're looking in retrospect/reflecting on your life. It's not a good thing to carry around with you pre-emptively. "So you got to shit later than society thinks is normal lmao w/e who cares, you did the thing and that's what matters" is way different from "You don't have to do this right now, fuck it, there's no official timeline" -- and the latter is the mindset that I was addressing. It does encourage learned helplessness by reinforcing someone's avoidant tendencies. That's why I don't like people reaching for that as a platitude by default.

And that's also why I made it a point to say I was using a generalized, ubiquitous "you" in my response to your original ask -- because I don't know your story, so I wasn't responding/can't respond to your situation specifically. All I could do/did do was respond to the impulse to tell someone "don't worry about it, you don't need to do a thing right now."

My response to that will always be: If not now, when? And if there's actual barriers to entry for a thing, my follow-up question will be: Are you making a good faith effort to break through those barriers, or are you just building up a wall of excuses that you can hide behind and feel safe?

I will always encourage someone to act rather than wait, because I have watched too many dreams fall apart and had too many friends get saddled with regret as a result.

Deep breath. I’ll be honest Anon, this question sent me into a depression tailspin yesterday. But I don’t blame you lol. Just a part of my life I’m not happy about.

No, I don’t, and I likely never will. I’m not child-free by choice though, I was in a relationship during the pandemic that I thought would lead to a family and then it fell apart. Or rather, I found out there was nothing to really fall apart, the guy didn’t really think about the future. Super cliche situation but it’s left me with very little time to find someone else to have kids with, and frankly a very jaded perspective on men. In a parallel sucky development, I also had some health problems crop up that will make pregnancy difficult, and actually makes my social life kind of difficult too. I know it sounds insane to say requiring strict gluten free is a major obstacle to dating, but it’s a serious turnoff for people once they realize what it actually entails. I need to find someone with either the same health problems or just fucking eating disordered so they might tolerate the bizarre seemingly arbitrary restrictions. (I’m joking, I know what men with real eating disorders behave like and it’s not fun).

My main problem is, I grew up in a big family that values children, so giving up on having a child feels a little bit like an early death lol, not to be super-dramatic emo or anything. I just fucked up by focusing on my career, not realizing that my obsession with physical appearance combined with being a weird INTJ nerd would mean that it will be very hard to find a partner that I could stand and who could stand me. I thought if I started looking seriously in my 30s I’d have ample time. Granted, I also didn’t foresee a fucking pandemic rendering the dating scene into musical chairs, where I happened to get stuck with someone who “wasn’t ready”. I’m sure I’ll calm down and get over it once I go through menopause or whatever, but right now it’s just this stupid feeling of “maybe I should still be trying??”

My favorite artist is a hard one but most of my favorites are the ones I follow on tumblr....which are public for people to look at just find the ones who do art ye and those ones all are somewhere on my lists of favorites for artists.. not all the people I follow are artist tho btw

Don't completely understand the second one (my 0 braincells are failing me helpp) uhh but I think ya mean like my own thing with a plot and characters or something i make up so uhh technically I'm working on a webtoon so that counts as my own thing but then I do have afew story's and stuff for characters I've made up (my oc's) but they are in a show/movie universe that's made up already so yaaa! So my webtoon I'm working on is probably my only made up from scratch world ya know.

The goal of my blog is quite literally to one get my art out there ya! And I also just like meeting new people and being involved in different fandoms.. I originally made it just to look at art lol I randomly started posting and getting followers yayaya

And for the last one...the artists I study are either whatever references I find on pintrest or google...or if someone for example on tumblr has something nice they drew i might look at it to see how they proportion things or what they did for lighting really helps but I'd say I don't study one artist really but mainly just get references off of pintrest or Google :3

I think it's somewhat similar to us in a sense of some of us are more curious about the community while others don't care and are actively against it. leads to us being extremely conflicted lol

it's cool to hear systems answer the question because I personally resonate with some transids I've come across due to being nonhuman. i just think the whole thing is interesting, highly doubt I'd join the community though just because of how uncomfortable a lot of it makes me. I'm probably being way too open lol whoops
