hmmmm.....kind of difficult to choose depending on the criteria for favorite or can shift depending on which season your into 🤔.

Like some can be just be a fun entertaining stand alone episide.....which others can be amazing with how it fits into the narrative over all and how it made me feel or think.

Chat blanc was probably a favorite for the drama for a while but it does have mari sniffing his pillow so that's not really a favorite over all anymore.

I really liked the newyork special and think it's important to the show and characterization but I don't like rewatching it.

I really liked the episode where chloe apologized about the bag but that's more about the arc and them messing up her progress later made me feel bummed watching it.

Hmmmmm......I think it's a tie between the episide felix was introduced and the Scarabella episode.

The one with feljx is entertaining cuz felix is being a jerk but is kind of relishing in it. Even with added or changed context from later episodes I just love disliking him in the episode. I liked how we both got to see a bunch of sweet messages from Adrien's friends(especially chloe) even if Adrien didn't get to see them. The surprise vibe of seeing Gabe uncomfortable around his wife's sister...like gabe is new money and his wife is old money.

Gabe and Nathalie are weirdly more likable in the episode because they didn't doubt adrien's character for a second....and it makes me worry seeing how weak Adrien's bond to the class is when who they thought was Adrien lashed out. Yeah, it WASN'T adrien....but it made me understand why felix might judge them....but more it made me appreciate Adrien more.

Plagg assumed Adrien was unaware felix was bring a jerk and felix thought adrien was too goody goody and thoight he was fooling adrien...but adrien showed he was FULLY aware that feljx was bejng a jerk and chose to be understanding abd protect feljx anyways. Adrien pretending to be felix was hilarious and clever to try to lure them away and it showed a interesting maturity his other friends didn't have....cuz when feljx was lashing out at adrien...Adrien didn't take it personally and knows it was coming from feljx being hurt and how hurt people might not knowing a better way to vent the emotions. Adrien wasn't a push over. He did his best to put his foot down when feljx messes with his friends, and he did have some fun with felix getting some karma in the battle...but adrien also still offered if feljx needed to talk then feljx knows his number and even if felix did lie during his apology....adrien still stood firm that felix had to give a GOOD apology. Plus seeing three akuma is still iconic even with the questionable wording. Plus felix gets punched in the face...they mkght be trying to get me to like him more now but he gave our mari a panic attack...so the punch is more cathartic now.

SCARABELLA episode is tied with it because Alya had a great costume.

The villian and plan was actually clever and almost worked and we saw Mari make some mistakes by not telling chat ahead of time or giving Alya time to prepare which can echo issues later in the show. It's also fun to see Adrien/chat express his frusteration outloud even if they did him dirty by him losing to Alya...I love seeing alya/scarabella and chat interact and we got to see him show the most amazing support and why he is the best partner once his frusteration was put aside.

Though I think that one ranks so high with me is because it feels like a twist. Because the episodes are released out of order we all marinated in the knowledge that mari told her identity to alya and that chat was not aware of this. We all assumed he'd feel mad or betrayed because she broke the rules and didn't even tell him...even more considering her not giving him a heads up wasn't a great idea when sentimonsters get used. So chat found out she told someone her identity in one of the worst ways. And we were all on edge because since the episodes were out of order we got to see adrien find out at other times things ge was out of the loop on....so we are assumed he'd be angry.

Yet the shock I got when it turned out Adrien trusted lsdybug's judgment where he doesn't guilt her or make her feel bad about giving her miraculous to someone or telling her identity to someone. That he trusts her and wasn't feeling entitled to her identity when so many people though he'd be angry or take it personally...it made him feel more mature to me. And it was a interesting contrast because we know msri said if she was in his place she woukd gave been mad.

This is the same guy who had a really bad break up due to not being honest with kagami and yet he didn't think about how itcwould gave been nice if he could tell someone. He trusts her completely or at least supports her and while he was huffyvabd took out sone if his frusteratikn out on scarsbella....he doesn't take that out on ladybug. Is vulnerable about how what upset him was she didn't give him a heads up she was getting a temporary replacement....he didn't care she told someone else her identity at all....which blew up alot of people's arguments about chat being entitled or jealous to me. And it made Rockatear even more interesting in hindsite because that means he was vulnerable and LB was STILL leaving him out of things or exceptions she made. And it explained why Alya made that positive Chast noir video. And nino was a sweet trusting boyfriend in it.

Love that twist feeling.

Though another contender could be Sandboy. Love seeing the contrast of plagg and tikki's dynamic with their holders....seeing more of fu and why plagg might have issues with guardians....plus mari's fear was HILARIOUS with marry chloe adrien zombie and Adrien thinking plagg got turned into a sock was the best joke.

Still makes me giggle...and it was sweet seeing Adrien be so understanding of plagg despite plagg leaving Adrien with no warning yo face his worst fear by himself...plagg was understandably expecting hurt or anger....just to face Adrien's understanding and validating plagg's feelings...even reassuring plagg Adrien won't hold him back and just wants a heads up so Adrien can help.

It makes me think thats when plagg really starts to bond more with adrien...and it gave us a bit mire insight through the contrast with tikki and mari's dynsmic. Plus gabe sensing the Kwami and guardian with the plan backfiring was great.

(HIB Wukong) He fines them interesting he didn't know until Luier made us laugh. And wonders why you hide them and why you never told him. They are really cute, and it tickles when we nibble on them. But it feels like silly girl's teething on him, but he just needs to get used to it.

Silly question but why did Jayce wait for the final battle to finally try to turn off the hexgate? 🤔 he told Cait and Vi that enforcers will need to hold Ambessa back to give him time to do it. Well why aren’t you doing it RIGHT NOW😅

LOL I was thinking about that too. This is especially (potentially) problematic when you account for the probability that there were at least several days, if not a week or more, between the end of ep 8 and the final battle.

I need to rewatch to see if there's any other explanation, but there's a couple *possible* explanations.

The first is Jayce maybe didn't realize that Viktor was coming to the Hexgate to try to use its power until Ambessa positioned her warships to assault the Hexgate specifically. In other words, it didn't occur to him to try to shut it down until it was basically too late.

A second possibility is that he had spent the last days or however long systematically shutting down the upper levels of the Hexgate, and had just reached the very bottom level when the attack began.

I don't know why he couldn't have multiple engineers shut down all the levels all at once, but without knowing more about how the Hexgate works it's hard to say how plausible or not this is.

So when I first found Imperfect, I hadn't watched Bleach in... dunno... 10-15 years?? Gawd don't wanna think about it. So, I'd forgotten a lot of stuff, and I hadn't finished the last 3-4 seasons. So I thought a lot of stuff you wrote about was canon, and when I rewatched it all for the upcoming 3rd part of tybw, I was like... so when are you guys gonna mention this??

But anyway, focusing on the actual question, how did you come up with all the little details about Mayuri? Like the way he talks to AJ in their own internal world, the microdosing of Super Human drug in daily life and they way it feels, the ability to smell pheromones... it makes the story, which is already awesome, much more realistic to me. It's almost like he wrote it himself, it's so, so enjoyable. Love it sm, you already know 😊

Anyway, no pressure to answer, just been thinking about it for a while and thought I'd chance it!

Hmm so the microdosing Superhuman Drug just popped into my head right before I wrote it in (chapter... 5? I think? Where he's sitting in the hotel after a flashback), I think I was having a bit of a conundrum on how he could sit there and have such a long and detailed flashback in such a short time? And before I could do the obvious fix of having more time pass, as literally nothing was at stake time-wise, I remembered the Superhuman Drug exists. And the more I thought about it, the more sense it made for him to use it, to the point where I choose believe it's canon unless proven otherwise XD Like you can't tell me someone whose whole thing is Thinking wouldn't jump at the opportunity to do more of it in less time. As for the way it feels, hmmm idk, I just thought real hard and made it up. All we know from canon is what he explained to Szayel, and what Szayel experienced, which is just. Brain thinks faster, making time feel as though it's passing slower. And od'ing on it is Real Bad💀

I think it's called (could definitely be wrong)? Where everyone's zanpakuto spirit is running amok? I just remember reading he didn't speak. And though I have mixed feels about the design (hence he is Moth in my fic XD), him not speaking really made sense to me. He just seems like such a fucked up little guy🤔 Like.. okay so I've mentioned this briefly in a chapter preface but want to elaborate... so I strongly believe he consents to being modified, cuz even Mayuri would probably have a hard time wielding a zanpakuto that fucking hates him. Which means he's loyal (arguably to a fault) and trusts Mayuri to do very fucked up and painful things to him. Which, to be fair, Mayuri does equally painful and fucked up things to his own body.. and that makes me wonder if Jizo isnt merely consenting but is of the same mind about this fuckery? Like idk if I can even say this in a way that makes sense🤦‍♂️ but I like to think they share this no-holds-barred, nothing-is-sacred delight for experimenting on themselves. Like Jizo is also a mad scientist in all but name>:3 (I decided on this version bc it Fucks Severly imho, but also bc it's FAR less depressing than the overly-trusting, Stockholm syndrome one, like i cannot deal with writing something that sad tbfh) Anyway, regardless of which version, he is an intensely weird Creachure. And I just can't fathom him saying fucking.. anything... that would even remotely make sense to anyone but Mayuri??? And the telepathy thing just fits Mayuri's whole.. fast thinking, Big Brain vibe. If a zanpakuto were to impart information to him through words, I can see him tapping his foot like GET TO THE POINT>:(

Lastly, the pheromone thing.. haha well this one's pretty short (future Sen here, i am a liar! It is not short😬) - I borrowed it from another ff. It's that one I mentioned at the end of.. who knows which chapter... Quantum Mechanics by Illegitimi (no link, sorry, might put one after i post)... which was Mayuri/Isane, and which I loved So Much back in the day, despite hetero romance being kind of a fuckin.. icky vibe for me in regards to Mayuri. No problem with it fyi, just usually wouldn't choose to read about it. Ugh I'm talking too much about it already but I have changed a LOT since.. 2016? Give or take? And I don't think I could stand it nowadays for a whole bunch of reasons. But. BUT. It was very well written and had some very cool hcs for him that I've clung onto. The pheromone one just fits him - if he could sharpen his ability to sense something, ofc he'd do it - plus it's very fun for romance and smut reasons, which is undoubtedly why the author thought of it. They also had that scar across his nose, though iirc it was kinda squiggly and not the upside down V that I made up. In my defense though, there's a lot I didn't borrow from that fic, too. Some highlights: Mayuri practiced feng-shui (like he'd spend his precious Sciencing time to do smth like that smh) he had these absolutely luxurious captains quarters, complete with a whole fancy bathhouse, like there was a waterfall and shit nsvdhshdv (I'll admit this was quite fun in the ff but i obviously interpret his quarters a lot differently)... and, last one I mention I promise😬 his paint rubbed off easily, big reason why I changed it tbfh cuz it immediately didn't make sense to me, like his hands especially? Is that different paint than the rubbing off paint? Or does he leave paint on every surface he touches, and discreetly wipe it up and reapply before anyone notices???? Expmain yourself, ff writer😤 jk jk it was really good for what it was, and I still very much appreciate it for helping me form my version<3

- tommy is so worried in the split second before buck tells him that it was okay

I recently did the session 5 trivia quiz, and I got 27 wrong! I wonder if anyone has gotten every question correct, or at least <15, and if so I just want to congratulate them for being so dedicated to the life series. That’s it. (Totally not jealous or anything, nah, you’re crazy.)

i’ve seen a lot of people get less than 15 wrong, and the stats on the form tell me a few people have gotten all the questions right!

I love love love Speak up Boys, (I need to re-read it again though, it's been a while). What gave you the idea/made you want to write this story?

PS: I saw you spoke French in your asks thingie and I smiled to myself like some sort of dormant agent seeing another fellow French-speaker. Is it your first or second language ? And do you think you're going to translate Speak up Boys in French one day ?

I got the idea of the fic after rewatch the whole anime two years ago! My roommate and I had been wanting to catch up since the first apparition of Gear 5 in the manga sooo... Six months and +1000 eps later, I was back into total hyperfixation lol

It started with the want of having a fic where I could explore the ASL brothers' character arcs as both kids and adults! TBH, there aren't enough de-aged fics with either them or the Strawhats, and I love love love this trope when it is used for angst and comfort purposes 🤭

Add to that the feeling that the Flashback episodes about Roger and his crew was too short + this song, and you get the idea for Speak Up, Boys! ٩(๑˃́ꇴ˂̀๑)۶🩷

And omg!!! I can't believe there is one more French Speaker in my readers, you're the 3rd one!! ٩(*´▽`*)۶✨

French is my native language! This MAY be an extremely Niche Question, but how do u Imagine your mainverse Rockafire and WP5 In a timeskip. (If they all reunited now (they were a band in the 80's in the mainverse :3))

So even tho i'm not the biggest fan of strict timelines, and do tend to prefer a 'the time when this is happening doesn't matter' aproach to my stories, i DID sit down sometime last year to write at least the year i think Rolfe n Wolfman were born into.

After a lot of debacle n heavy usage of my phone's calculator, i ended up with 1944 as Wolfman's birth year, n 1948 as Rolfe's

From that, i'm able to guess the birth years/current ages of the rest of the rockafire, since i did also write down their ages in relation to each other.

So! In the year of 2025, the band would be...

Fatz: 78

Rolfe: 77

Billy Bob: 74

Earl: 74

Looney: 66

Dook: 61

Beach: 59

Mitzi: 55

...Mitzi would be my mom's age 🤔

Anyways!! I don't have ages for all of the wp5 set in stone, but yes for some lf them. So for the ones i have, Wolfman would be 81 (if he's still alive--), Dingo would be 66, n Mini would be 64. Even tho i dont quite have ages for em, Queenie is around the same age as Wolfman, n WP5!Beach was the oldest of them, at least like 5 or more (possible more) years older than Wolfman. To the point i think present age he would be pushing 90, again, if he's alive.

Now for a meetup... i wanna believe that my version of the rockafire n wp5 all kept in contact w each other, if maybe distantly, an occasional postcard/call when something intersting happened, invitations to big events like weddings/graduations/baby showers if they were to happen, being communicated via social media once that became mainstream, n the 'hey i'm in town wanna meet up?' occasional lunch together, if individually. Like they'll obviously all talk to each other, but occasions when they can ALL get together like old times would be rare.

(Still-- maybe its bc 'old intersted been revived' n i rewatched it recently but-- a get together all of them would go like the 31 minutos episode El Funeral de Tulio.

Anyways...

I went over what Rolfe would do post-band in this ask, but for the rest of them...

Fatz would marry Esmeralda. He was a private music tutor on the side for a while during his wp5 days, so i think he would go back to that. I also hc his family has a small restaurant on their hometown, small family-run place, so maybe he'll go back to helping there? My hc of Esmeralda is a stylist, btw, but doesn't have her own styling place, so maybe she'll take the chance in a new city to set up her own thing. I hc they can't have kids biologically, so i can see them fostering/adopting a buncha kids, bc Fatz will always be A Dad™ in my heart

Earl, i am drawn to the idea of him getting a radio show for no particular reason, maybe just bc he has a v recognizable voice? So yeah, while Rolfe's off teaching acting n stuff, Earl is in a (or various) radio station(s) thru the day. I'm on the fence abt them having kids or not? They would def get married as soon as they can tho.

Billy Bob n Looney obviously have Smitty's to worry about. But i can see Looney deciding (sooner rather than later) to go to college for programming. I can see him getting a job relating to it n eventually making Some Bank out of it. Also, if you've read this fic: he does eventually find out what happened to his parents... but thats a story for another day. On that note, Billy Bob eventually becomes Choo-Choo's legal guardian officially, taking over his deadbet parents, so Choo-Choo grows up very happily n loved (:

Beach n Dook would also marry eventually. I can see them staying in the music scene, first making a duo, then being musicians-for-hire individually, then producers for other artists. Beach gets an english degree that he doesn't do a lot w since he's focused on music. They don't have a whole lot of money, but they lived an okay, calm, n happy life together. Again, on the fence w them having kids, but if they do it'll 100% be adoption, just fyi

Mitzi, frankly idk what she would do? A part of me wants to say "cheer coach/music teacher" but idk... thats up on the air as of rn

You didn't want Scout to hear about your latest mission. You wanted to delude yourself into thinking that not telling him was to make him not worry, but it was mainly because you didn't want to face him the day you had to leave.

Scout had managed to find out about it anyway through one very loud, very patriotic American as 8 out of your 9 other mercenary companions came to say their goodbyes in the dead of night.

You get a couple of handshakes, hugs, and pats on the back from the rest, and just as you're about to get in your vehicle, Scout's speedy footsteps rush out of the base.

"Woah, woah, woah! Where 'da Hell are you tryin' to go! And at 'dis time of night?!" He shouts, pulling you away and holding your arms tight.

"Scout- Scout, listen. This is something I have to do alone, alright." You try to defuse his anxiety and worry for you by running your fingers through his hair.

"Whatd'ya mean you gotta go on 'dis mission wit'out me? Wit'out anyone? Why would ya' ever gotta go somewhere without me? I mean, w- why would you even agree to 'dat?"

Scout looks stunned as you don't respond to him immediately, scratching the back of his head in confusion.

"I- It's just something I have to do. D- don't worry. I'll be ba-"

"Don't tell me 'dat, I'm not stupid."

"Scout-!"

"I said I'm not stupid. Listen ta' me, it's supposed to be me and you, forever! You. And. Me! You can't just go out and get yourself killed-!" He begins, waving his hands around to emphasise how displeased he is with this.

"Scout."

"Don't even try to-"

"Scout!"

Scout jumps a little at the volume of your voice, standing up straight in front of you. Now, he's listening to you. Finally. His ears even perk up a little.

Your hands slowly move to your helmet, taking the damn thing off to reveal your dashing face, adorned with scars and a bruise that never seems to go away.

Scout is mesmerised. He never got to see your face very often, and every time he did, it just blew him away. Why would you ever hide it away? He thinks. If he was as handsome as you, which he totally is, he wouldn't hide a damn thing, let alone his entire face.

His thoughts are interrupted as you gently raise his hands and place your helmet into them.

"Wh- why're you givin' me your helmet? 'Dis is your helmet. You're gonna need it, aren't ya'?" He closes one of his eyes and moves the helmet around a little, inspecting it.

"Not where I'll be headed. Listen, I want you to... to keep it safe for me, yeah?" You smile at him and move to caress his cheek, nervousness emanating from your affectionate touches. Scout blushes a little.

"No. You're makin' it back so that you can take your damn helmet back! I'm not losing you. I can't lose you. So I better not be keepin' this for too long." He pouts, pulling you in for a tight hug.

He wraps his arms and legs around your body for as long as he's allowed to before Heavy has to yank him off of your body.

"Damnit! Hey! I need'ta- give him a kiss. Lay off me, ya' lug!" He struggles out of Heavy's arms and kisses you on the lips before he's pulled away again, biting and scratching with your helmet in his arms.

Eventually, you're called back into the vehicle and Scout forces himself to watch as you're driven away to some place, with only your helmet as a way to keep him company.

The last month had been Hell on Earth Scout. He was lonely and afraid that you would never make it back. Not even Medic's very best attempt at therapy (Having Archimedes follow Scout all day) could help with the mercs anxiety.

Eventually, the same bland truck that hauled you off to God knows where comes rolling back, and Saxton Hale himself holds you as you attempt to stand.

Scout sits in his room, mopey and sad, unaware of your return for a while, which allows you to swiftly get to the medbay.

"Fuck! Fuck it hurts! DON'T TOUCH THERE! TOUCH MY KIDNEY AND YOU'RE A GONER!"

"YOUR KIDNEY IS HANGING OUT OF YOUR BODY! I AM NOT SURE IF YOU ARE EDUCATED VERY WELL, BUT EITHER WAY, YOU SHOULD KNOW THAT YOUR ORGANS ARE SUPPOSED TO BE ON THE INSIDE, NOT OUTSIDE! WHY IS IT OUTSIDE?!"

"I DON'T KNOW?! I DIDN'T SURVIVE ALL THAT JUST TO GET YELLED AT BY A MADMAN! JUST HEAL ME UP ALREADY!!"

"GO FIND A HEALTH PACK!!!"

You and Medic shout back and forth at each other, alerting the whole base to your return.

Although it is Pyro that plunges their axe through Scout's door.

"H- hey! What da' heck?! There are times when a freakazoid like you should leave a man ta' mope!" Scout cries, his ears starting to pick up on the sounds of your shouts now that Pyro has so kindly opened his door for him.

"What the...?" Scout watches as you run past his door, looking desperately for a health pack as Medic chases you down with a scalpel.

Do not piss off your local medics.

"Holy shi- W- WAIT UP, ASSHOLE!"

Scout calls and looks over to your helmet, which is sitting at the foot of his bed and smiles like a madman as he grabs it and rushes out of his room and past Pyro.

"Get a move on, py!"

"HUR HUD HUR HUDDAAA!" (Go get your man!)

I haven’t seen anyone talk about this on here (and maybe I missed something when watching it so maybe my theory doesn’t make any sense, or maybe this made so much sense to everyone else but me that there was no reason to discuss it lol) so I’m just gonna drop this here: my first thought after the last scene of ep 4 was that Baek Sa Eon must have visited the police BEFORE her interview and so by then he already knew she could talk. To me the question ”can you really not talk” felt really out of place (esp coming from him bc it’s a question that could hurt her feelings which I don’t think he would deliberately do, at least not when it comes to her mutism). I feel like his ”speech” during the interview would make more sense within that context. Let’s ignore the fact that his outfit doesn’t match, maybe he went home and changed or maybe there is a gap of a few days, BUT he did come in late to the office the day of the interview so where was he? We get no other explaination to this…but anywayssss this is all I can think about. I cant wait for tomorrow, feels like christmas…

Hahaha, thank you for bringing up this point because I also have been wondering since I watched the episode, when exactly does the scene at the police station fall on the timeline. I'm sooo curious to know exactly what he did after learning she can talk, which is the scene that follows. I'll probably need to rewatch the episode to be able to make a more educated guess.

But I like your idea about it being before the interview because maybe that's what prompted him to suddenly fice that whole speech about a husband and wife who don't properly communicate. I imagine learning his wife can talk and never felt comfortable enough to tell him could lead him to having such thoughts.

As for his lateness I saw earlier someone suggest that it was because he was helping her father settle in his new hospital which makes sense. But going to the police station to fill out the report could also work 🤔
