i have been obsessively reading worship the ashes- i think the vibe captured in that fic is insane. plus they had their first kiss! sorta! it should still count even though ren is currently fire

also somniphobia. i understand why ren is so nervous about it and i’m glad martyn was able to reassure him a little bit. it was fun to find out more about what martyn’s time traveling with bigb, jimmy, and grian was like

and thank you for all your kind words about worship the ashes and somniphobia! those two are maybe my faves in the series, if i’m honest—i have a soft spot for somniphobia because i love when Ren actually has a body and getting to explore how he experiences the world as a mortal-turned-god-turned-incorporeal-turned-back. Ren pov in general in lamplight fucking rules and i need to write more of it

the funny thing about lamplight is i didn’t care much for shipping when i started writing it and now i do a lot so all my favorite pieces are non-canon ship stuff 😭

as for writing more, i definitely want to finish moonlight / lamplight au in general. i think about it most days at least once a day tbh. but ive wanted to post another piece first before i finish moonlight, and that fic has been giving me trouble. i’ve restructured how it will look a few times, but it’s simply being evil to me

that combined with being unemployed and living at home with my parents for the last year and change and spending most of most days job searching, i just haven’t felt it was right to devote a day/week to writing something. lamplight is something i hold to a higher standard than any other fic, and i wouldn’t want to half ass a major plot point. so instead it just Haunts Me Daily For Two Years

i’ve been trying to do lower stakes pieces Very Slowly just so the fic gets Some updates—a late series “here to there” piece, a visit to a library to try and learn Ren’s name—but they’ve only been edited a sentence or two at a time

(which. semi open requests call i can make no promises to getting to. if you have short scene ideas or scenes you’d like to see opposite pov of or anything else, let me know—i need excuses to write lamplight again and never quite know where to start!)

do you ever plan to have lamplight treebark and scarian meet up? grian and martyn are so happy to reunite and scar and ren are locked in a death glare match

maybe! i’ve definitely thought about how their meeting / reunion would go. the fun thing about it to me is that if they meet while Ren is fire, Scar likely won’t recognize Ren, as he believes the man is dead. even if he did, i don’t know if he really holds much in the way of a lasting grudge? meanwhile Ren would see Scar as the man who took everything from him once, now posing as a harmless human and in the perfect position to do it again. it’d be really fun to write if i ever decided to do so

oh lew driflew how has your time on artimator smp been during recent deadly events?

i haven’t logged onto artimator smp in a while! and since i havent been very active, so i didn’t join the infection game. i just didn’t think it would be fair to the other players to join and not rlly log on. i honestly don’t spend too much time on artimators outside of events—i never really know what to do when i’m on, and it’s a little intimidating to be not much of a builder or visual artist on a recorded server with a bunch of Very skilled visual artists and builders

i Have been meaning to log onto artimator again tho. i want to build an actual house near the community trading hall that i built and possibly stream the process of doing so, but haven’t been motivated to find a plan and build smth yet. also i need stream music and even thinking about copyright music rules already gives me a headache lmao

tbh most of my video game time is spent w the potato battalion, either playing repo (that’s what we did this morning) or on cosmic smp, our private mc server. cosmic smp is relatively new, but it’s the modded spiritual successor (of sorts) to sky smp, the vanilla server we’ve had for a bit over three years. i’ve been trying to work on my cosmic character, zed, and building/writing his backstory stuff, so all my mc energy has gone there!

32. Out of all your fics, what is your favorite title?

…..i really like the stupid pun ones that actually tell you something about the plot of the fic. Beholden, Anchor, Blindsided, by any other name. if i could title every single fic with the cleverness of Beholden…….

i’m also pretty proud of First Sign of a House Fire and any fic series with a name theme. Lamplight’s mostly light-themed names, the chapter titles of missing or obstructed all being weird sleep phenomenon… if i ever post more of Bastard and the Beast, all the fic titles will be dog-themed idioms

i have one for lamplight! its not sorted in any special order, but it’s a fun one. i should update it sometime, i feel like i could def add more songs to it

i’m not a huge playlist maker because i have a bad habit of making every song ever about my blorbo du jour regardless of whether or not they actually fit

Cherri’s also made playlists for most of our AUs! i usually don’t contribute too many songs to them due to my aforementioned illness making my choices unreliable, but i have a few added to most of them (tho i couldn’t tell you how many, bc i usually tell her the songs i want to add and let her handle actually adding them since she often is careful w the song order—she’s pretty good at playlists!)

i think the longest one is Yellow Rose AU at like 4 hours. one song i can remember adding to it is How Simple by Hop Along. Blindsided probs has the highest percentage of songs i have saved in my normal playlist tho

i don’t think there’s anyone on artimator who isn’t aware of it

artimator is primarily a discord server for chatting and art sharing, and the mc server is a side thing based out of that server. skizzlehell was a running joke in there for quite a while
