there's something so incredibly sweet about how many times davrin notes in his journal that talking to rook helped him with something. he keeps bringing them out to touch grass and gaze at nugs out in the woods with him which I think must be very good for them, and their company clearly helps him work through and get more clarity on things he's been stuck on emotionally. it's just kind of lovely and a great little nuance in that relationship.

DP x DC Phantom Punk: Bat Punk

Decided to bring my Punk Danny AU back since all the Spider Punk stuff I’ve been seeing lately has got me ~inspired~

Just Punk Danny doing his thing, hanging out, maybe jamming with some folk in a random punk house, when, like it usually does in Gotham, shit happens.

Some thugs show up trying to intimidate and threaten the punks that live there. They’re trying to scare ‘em off, make ‘em sell as part of some scheme to demolish the whole block and put up shitty expensive housing. 

Now, there’s two things Danny knows: Landlords are bastards, and you got to protect your community

Now he could deal with some thugs in and out of Phantom form, but he just got off the GIW radar and beating hired thugs from a crime family brings the wrong kind of attention to his personal life

His solution?

He puts on a cheap Batman Halloween mask someone had lying around and proceeds to beat the hell out of their kneecaps with a bat decked out in denim covered in spikes and patches

As it turns out, it’s not just a one time thing...

Look I get the scorn some people have for Tattoo and I was not immune to a stern face of silent disappointment myself upon watching, however.

However.

Let's keep in mind that, for him, this whole ordeal gets him back to square one. The one where Hope was beating the shit out of him while threatening his mother. Joke's high principles and cool heist to get precious items back to their owners is nice, but you don't live off generosity. Jack is kind and closer to their situation, but he's not like them either. He can work for Boss. He's not in immediate physical danger.

What they did so far brings him nothing. And he bled for it. Got in danger for it.

Honestly I think this man wants to do good, but on impulse or his back against the wall he will do what he feels he must. And he feels his back is constantly against the wall, and he sees everyone judging him for what he thinks is the only way out, and boy did he get mad at Hoy for this.

He strikes me as the type who's used to take care of people. Of making the hard calls to keep them safe. Took on his father's debt with his mom, but shoulders it all on himself and protects her. Protects Hoy, too. I mean Tattoo is both dumb and smart but Hoy is. Well. He's got a good heart but he's not the sharpest egg in the attic. It was Tattoo running to help him too.

It's like everyone around him can afford high principles and moral highground but he can't. And that was probably true for most of his life, so I don't blame him. I just wished he realised he has other friends now. Friends who won't let him down (which I think is starting to finally sink in). That he can afford friends and trust. Open up a bit.

On that point, I think Joke going along with his obvious lies is such a great big deal. Like. That was the one thing he could do that would help Tattoo's issues here, namely with shame and feeling judged and wrong. Joke doesn't ask for any explanation. He doesn't take any easy jab. Doesn't get mad. It screams 'I understand, you do not need to justify yourself, I do not judge you, with no need to bare your heart and struggles', which. Might have brought a manly tear in my eye. Cause that's the opposite of what Tattoo has repeatedly said about Joke so far.

...... I don't even know where I'm going anymore, but I love this little man with all my heart. He wants to be a good person and a good friend too, he just hasn't realized he can afford it yet and I will die on this hill.

Also he's going to be so pissed when he falls for Arun, someone get me popcorn.

I'm like 3 eps after the whole Stucky thing and I am STILL stuck on the image of Elliot just lifting Donnelly into his arms as Liv immediately says which hospital is closer and both are rapidly already decided that THEY ARE DRIVING HER.

Like, we've seen them do that before. Usually in a "bus is such and such minutes out" "we can make it faster" scenes - a calls been made for the bus, they opt to just go. They didn't even CALL ONE FOR DONNELLY THEY JUST LEFT.

And I sat here like "wait .... not Elizabeth Donnelly being the ONE MEMBER OF THE DISTRICT ATTORNEY'S OFFICE - THEIR ONE ADA - WHO HAS STAYED IN THEIR LIVES THIS ENTIRE TIME DESPITE GOING JUDGE"

I joke about Cragen being Captain Dad and I've joked about Donnelly being similar for Alex (and Casey) ... occasionally talked how she cares for this squad but like ... honestly she's the mom at this point in my mind.

I no longer live in the UK. I was one of the many European migrant workers that left because of Brexit. The environment was hostile, the whole settlement scheme was giving dejavú of the Windrush scandal. Residency was now dependent on work visas, citizenship no longer attainable.

If you still live in the UK do your utmost to keep the tories out. Jacob Rees Mogg does not have your best interest at heart, his businesses are not even located in the UK. Boris Johnson got his French passport while he was pushing for Brexit. They’ve trashed the country to let you living in rubbles while they have a escape route.

I don't know why I was thinking about this but I got wondering about those silly little fandom things like what kind of dog would represent certain characters for Spy x Family, and like...

Loid and Anya are kind of obvious. Anya's something small and cute with stubby legs, like a chihuahua or a dachshund. Maybe a pomeranian. And Loid is one of those working dogs who can be highly trained but are also incredibly protective, like a German shepherd or a malinois.

But Yor...

If Yor and, by extension, Yuri are anything other than "husky/shepherd mixes" that were found abandoned on the side of the road by a well-meaning yet clueless individual who didn't know enough about dogs to realize they accidentally domesticated two wolf pups...
