I just skimmed through the art part of your blog and holy bajeebus your LMK art is so beautiful and the headcanon ideas you come up with are so good I wanna steal em-
Kinda wanna see like a part 2 of the little angst you did between MK and Macaque a while ago. It's so interesting and I wanna see Macaque's reaction in your art style. (You don't have to of course, it's just a suggestion [idk if i spelled that right])
Thanks for reading and hope you have a good day/night!
Hope this is to your liking ^^
Part one here
#I’m sure there are some character nuances im forgetting but well 🤷🏽#I want their misunderstanding or whatever they have going on between then come to a head. literally just going ‘wait what’#for me I think it’s entirely possible that there was an actual fight and maybe tension leading up to that point#cause I feel like macaque is not just bitter about thinking he died to wukong but maybe some stuff that built up to that#maybe the fight was just the breaking point. maybe they’re idiots who don’t talk about it because they think they’re on the same page idk#chipper-smol wrote a cool theory abt them using macaques ‘you’re nothing’ line in s4ep1. from what I understand it could be a direct parall#parallel to when he said that to MK right before MK regained his nerve and hit macaque in the eye.. since flying bark foreshadowed monkey mk#waaaay back in season 1 (where his shadow is his monkey form in the opening) i think that could be deliberate#and they could have gotten billy to voice an entirely different line for that scene. but they reused his line from s3#in a very specific scene with wukongs narrative foil. hm#that aside I would have liked to hear billy voice the ‘you abandoned me’ line that would have killed me. but that’s just me lol#also looking at this I should have shaded the last frame to make it look more dramatic and serious but I ran out of time :(#if anything I want to see MK try and help them get back together. poor kid tries so hard to understand people so I think it would be cool to#see that happen. that’s what I like about him.. he asked macaque why he was working for LBD instead of accusing him of dooming everyone bc#he wants to and he tried to comfort spider queen by admitting he was scared of LBD too 😭😭#my art#myart#Lego Monkie kid#lmk#Monkie kid#lmk spoilers#Lego Monkie kid spoilers#lmk macaque#six eared macaque#lmk sun wukong#lmk swk#lmk MK#lmk xiaotian#lmk season 4#Lego Monkie kid s4

another thing i love about laios:
HE IS GENUINELY A REALLY GOOD LEADER!!
despite struggling with the finer points of socializing, he has all the qualities necessary to be a good leader.
(i refer to the manga a lot in this post as someone who's read most of the manga at this point, but i avoided any specific spoilers)
He cares about all his teammates' well-being
He is extremely level-headed in a crisis
He is excellent at strategizing (within his areas of expertise; in the manga someone eventually points out he's pretty much useless at fighting other humans, lol)
If a plan fails, he is immediately thinking up a fallback plan - he doesn't give up
He is acutely aware of his teammates' strength and weaknesses, and accurately assigns them tasks suited to them in times of need.
He is perhaps not innately a 'leader-type'; he's fine deferring to the rest of the party most of the time, even when he doesn't understand why. (Just going along with the blindfold in the sauna for example, lol.) He was ready to head back into the dungeon by himself before Chilchuck and Marcille volunteered to come along. He doesn't think of himself as particularly smart or special. And when the party meets others (such as the old gnome couple) they don't tend to assume Laios is the leader.
But he has an unwavering vision (during the story it's rescuing Falin), and, you see it again and again: when they enter difficult combat, or any time things fall apart and everyone is panicking, Laios steps up and takes charge. His calmness helps everyone else calm down, and they generally follow his lead. They intuitively look to him in a crisis, to the point they're shocked the few times he doesn't have any ideas.
It kind of ties into another thought I have; he is repeatedly seen as "having no interest in other people" by other characters, but this isn't really true! He struggles to understand people and he is aware that they struggle to understand him. This leads to him mostly focusing on the things he IS good at understanding, such as monsters. But he genuinely makes a big effort to understand the people he cares about. In the manga, there are times you see him think deeply about his friends' struggles and motivations. For much of the early arcs, he understands Chilchuck better than Marcille or Senshi do. He and Marcille don't get each other that well at the start of the story, but by the end they have a very strong reciprocal friendship.
I could go on about it honestly but this post is already very long. Tl;dr laios one of the characters of all time to me and i think people should appreciate his leadership skills more!!
#dunmeshi#dungeon meshi#laios touden#laios#long post#meta#aphelion.txt#autism things#I see him as somewhat extroverted tbh#But he rarely takes the initiative to reach out to people#Experience has taught him that it usually isn't worth the effort#But when someone does seem to be receptive to his overtures of friendship#Ie Shuro (even though there were sadly a lot of misunderstandings there)#He gets extremely excited and wants to spend a lot of time with them#He's very very relatable to me as an autistic person#I stopped in the middle of reading some of the later manga chapters to write this lol#Bc i got too full of love for him#there are also times you see him willing to sacrifice himself for his companions with little to no deliberation. not only falin#Gahhhh i love him sm

today's hot take for dog people: management is not the same thing as training.
#dogblr#unpopular opinion: a lot of the current flavour of dog 'training' is actually just management#does your dog know how to make a good decision? does your dog know what a good decision even is?#or is your dog under such heavy management that they never ever have to make a decision on their own?#YES set your dog and yourself up for success!!!! absolutely!!!!#but (unpopular take) errorless learning is detrimental to overall wellbeing#stress is a part of life and of your dog crumples when they experience A Stress then you have a serious problem#teach resilience as a skill#dont misunderstand this on purpose#im not saying let your dog run wild unruly unmanaged#im saying train your skills and then trust your training#when it is safe to do so let your dog make a decision#(this is not in response to anyone on here#i am casual irl acquaintances with a service dog handler and i do not respect her handling/training/management#i am very frustrated with the lack of nuance between training vs management#and the beautiful space where they overlap#people who are here from Not The Dog World#management is setting up your environment so your dog makes the decision you want#eg using a long line so your dog has no choice but to come when called#training is teaching your dog to make the decision you want them to make#ideally you would use both (management while training) but the current flavour of dog training#tends to put all responsibility on you as the person#to manage your environment so the dog never has the opportunity to make a mistake#instead of training your dog so they understand what the 'right' choice is and WANT to choose that most of the time#i am braced for the deliberate misunderstandings that are likely to come out of this post#THERE IS NUANCE PEOPLE

something so special about watching old tv shows do shit that would be called queerbait if they came out today but they predate queerbaiting as a phenomenon so you know it's genuine home-grown all-natural free-range homoeroticism
#this is also true about All Of Mash and many other shows but it was a tjmd episode that made me think of this. sorry#i just watched their answer to george and. lowkey as a Let's Talk About Gay People episode it does a better job#(though tbf it was written 7 years later and contemporary rather than set in a pre-stonewall world)#but there's also an entire b plot about the show's frank clone thinking gonzo and trapper were gay while also acting deeply closeted himsel#and it. never gets resolved. like there's not a big moment where they realize the misunderstanding and go OH NO NO IT'S NOT LIKE THAT#it feels almost deliberately ambiguous#mash#sigh. yeah it's getting its own tag there's something wrong with me#tjmd#my posts

Okay so. We were driving on the freeway home. A two lane road out of the mountains. There was a truck camped out in the left lane, pacing the van in the right lane.
Now common courtesy is that you use the left lane to pass and move right when there’s a car behind you because it means they’re going faster than you.
But this truck. Had a line of seven cars backed up in the left lane, all stymied by this blockade. The right lane backed up too, all because this truck wouldn’t move over. He was dedicated too, braking when the van did to keep them level and keep any cars from getting passed. This went on for over ten miles to much honking and frustration.
When the van finally broke free and traffic was able to move through we saw that the asshole truck was a company truck. So….
Edit to clarify: I cannot call the company, it’s international, and there’s no business email.
#ramblies#I am still mad but perhaps I shouldn’t stoop to such pettiness#also the truck was a Canadian company and at first I wanted to be like maybe this is a cultural misunderstanding#but there’s literally signs saying keep right and the honking and that was a deliberate act of terrorism on all the other cars

Li Susu, Tantai Jin, Xiao Lin and the "Miscommunication" Trope
One thing a lot of people don't understand about tteotm's "miscommunication trope" is that it's very much based in the reality and experiences of the characters.
Susu and Tantai Jin do NOT trust each other and that's a direct consequence of what happened in the Sheng/Boat arc.
Li Susu
In Sheng, Susu genuinely believed that Tantai Jin was changing and becoming a better person only to learn that he had been practicing demonic cultivation and was kidnapped by him immediately afterwards.
After having experienced Tantai Jin's heavy backtrack and her experiences with the devil god, her trust in him is precarious. She'd looked past her prejudices and trusted him once only to be kidnapped, learned she'd been manipulated into marriage by a man who drove his nanny mad, killed a man and then told by that she would suffer the same fate. Why should she rely on this man when he'd already tricked her multiple times?
Not to mention she had in fact had pleaded for mercy on Xiao Lin once already and been denied before the words manged to come out of her mouth. Of course she assumed the worst of Tantai Jin when he killed the king and the later went on to go behind his back to save Xiao Lin.
Tantai Jin
Tantai Jin also began to believe that Susu cared about him but then heard her tell Xiao Lin how badly she wanted to kill him. Then, when he managed to trust her again after he'd been poisoned and she'd refused to abandon him, she then she disappeared on him showing up 4 months later with Xiao Lin at her back whom she then left with again.
In his point of view Susu has repeated chosen Xiao Lin over him, a man he believes she once loved. Something that is proved to him by her trying to save him because the definition of love he knows is wanting to see someone and wanting to protect them.
He has seen her go back to him time and time again. Protect him in the Mohe River, go to his camp when she'd thought he was launching a surprise attack, even trying to protect Xiao Lin when he'd just tried to ASSASSINATE him.
(Side note: a lot of people a quite frustrated with Susu trying to protect Xiao Lin asking what her skin in the game is but she even tried to protect Bingchang like hello?? Also that man has all but been her BROTHER twice not to mention protected and cared for even in this life, ofc she doesn't want to see him die again)
Miscommunication and Mistrust
Their "miscommunication" is deeply rooted in, if not is entirely mistrust and i feel like once you understand that and why it like that the "trope" becomes not only a lot more understandable but also adds to the story. Susu very reasonably does not trust Tantai Jin, and he the same, and that's the true tragedy, how can you devote yourself or the WORLD to a person you don't trust with your heart or well being?
You don't, you cant, no matter how much you love them. You have to have a foundation for something to be built
#interestingly enough xiao lin and ttj DO trust each other#tteotm#till the end of the moon#cyjm#~miscommunication~ girl they LIE to each other#the man deliberately phrases things to get her to misunderstand and then gets mad when she does

People who side with Triton and criticize Ariel for rebelling against him miss the whole point of the story. I don't know what it is about Ariel in particular that many people online look for every reason to hate on her and justify everything that happened to her.
#ariel#king triton#disney#the little mermaid#meta#disney meta#i miss people tend to be very dismissive of disney princesses and their trauma#but ariel in particular gets an unhealthy amount of flack#i know she is just an animated character. i'm well-aware she is fictional but boy does the deliberate misunderstanding still drive me crazy#and not in a good way at all#mean**#these critics are exhibiting the exact same mentality and attitude triton and sebastian had towards ariel#and they don't realize it at all#the entire point of the story was about letting go of prejudices. understanding the other side. letting your child go and make decisions fo#themselves. it wasn't just about a girl who gave her voice away because she saw a hot dude or sumn#that is a very gross interpretation of the movie and her character#she wanted to make her father see that there was beauty in the human world and eric was the proof of that#that's why she said “you don't even know him”. she said that because she saw how kind he was to everybody his compassion his love his warmth#his willingness to sacrifice his life for his damn dog. his humility his dreamy nature#he seemed like the pinnacle of humans but also someone she could relate to. a guy who understands her#it wasn't simply because he was hot although that definitely played a big role in her interest because that man was designed to be a total#beauty but anyways i digress. i think of him as the piece that united everything#he was the missing puzzle piece so to day#although ariel is actually the bridge between both worlds and eric is the foundation that maintains it#you know what i mean?#that's the whole point. it's a beautiful story about understanding love forgiveness and overcoming prejudice

yknow, ive always had a deep discomfort w using the term 'misgendering', particularly when it happens to me in social situations, and i always chalked that up to an internalized transphobia or w/e but no, that post is exactly it. "misgendering" is a toothless sounding accusation that makes the act itself sound like a misunderstanding at best and a meager personal slight at worst. it doesnt capture the social implications of degendering, particularly when it is enforced after repeated "corrections" and particularly when doing so actually encourages people who previously "correctly gendered" you to start degendering you by default. it doesnt cover the dehumanizing language that immediately arises from people needing to defend the action, the sudden reducing of my very being to whats hanging between my legs or some chromosomes or gametes that they can't see and dont even know abt, etc. degendering is such a more violent and malicious act than even most trans people are willing to admit, let alone cis people, and "misgendering" does not cover that weight even remotely.
#ig it has use in cases where it is genuinely just misunderstanding or poor judgement. like it happens!#but in the overwhelming majority of cases its deliberate and its not hard to notice when its deliberate vs accidental

i guess the thing with treating twitter like you are in an educational institution and trying to provoke thoughtful answers to thoughtful questions and expecting the questions you receive will in turn be thoughtful is that that is simply not what everyone else on twitter is there for
#i so rarely use that site anymore and only open it for the sporadic notification but this time i wanted to get to the bottom of the drama#and thats on me!#and this goes for this site as well also btw. everyone is here for a different reason you are going to get people taking you out of context#and deliberately misunderstanding what you are trying to say. i think its a mistake to try to say its a generational problem#when its a setting problem

ever think about how both the main protagonist and antagonist of Wolf 359 both deal in communication?
#it’s about the parallels#it’s about Eiffel’s geniune misunderstanding vs Cutter’s deliberate misunderstanding#Eiffel who wants the best for everyone and Cutter who wants the best for HIM#Cutter being ‘reborn’ by his own volition vs Eiffel’s unwilling ‘rebirth’#Eiffel’s concern and care for his crew- even the bad eggs#and Cutter who tosses them all aside like nothing#wolf 359
