I feel like Iā€™m seeing another uptick of people talking about using AI for fics/writing in general and I know some of itā€™s in a mostly unserious way but I still just wanna say
1) Generative AIs are literally built on the concept of mosaic plagiarism. You are, by definition, stealing from the work of countless writers on the internet
2) AI writing is not writing, it offers zero value beyond in-the-moment entertainment. If you want that satisfaction of doing something creative you have to actually, you know, do something creative. If you want the instant gratification of a story go read/watch/play something that was made by actual artists
3) even if you have no qualms about the plagiarism and deterioration of human skill and creativity, AI is a major threat to the environment and every time you use it youā€™re contributing to a massive waste of energy and resources
4) using AI just for ideas or just for inspiration or just to rewrite a sentence or just to find a different word is still using AI and it is still harming the environment and it is still stealing from others. There are other tools to use. The internet is full of free resources created by actual writers that can help you find that cool word youā€™re looking for or show you different ways to approach style and voice. And if youā€™re looking for inspiration there are literally endless amounts of prompts and ideas that are only a google search away
4a) this is also true for people who are only using AI as a joke. Itā€™s still harmful and you are helping the problem continue by using it, training it, and normalizing it
5) art is valuable because it is created by humans. Making something worthwhile isnā€™t about creating a masterpiece, itā€™s about putting part of yourselfā€”whether that part is passionate or heartbroken or angry or inspired or silly or reverent or filled with brainwormsā€”into the world. And even if you are the worst writer/artist/musician who has ever walked the earth (and trust me, you arenā€™t), anything you create on your own still has an impact. You are changing the world! You are putting something out there that leaves an impression on you and anyone who comes across it! But when you use AI for that, you havenā€™t made anything. Youā€™ve just rearranged someone elseā€™s work and dropped it on the ground. And by the time you make your third work, or your tenth, or your hundredth, you will not have grown or learned or changed or experienced any of the actual meaning and beauty of creativity. And if you donā€™t want any of those things, thatā€™s fine! But that means being a writer or an artist or whatever is not for you, and you shouldnā€™t go around cosplaying as one with a computer algorithm that is destroying the planet, stealing from hard-working artists, eliminating jobs, and contributing to mass misinformation and the deterioration of reading comprehension

Getting this off my chest:
Back from a small fanfic hiatus, and I am absolutely flabbergasted by all of the fic authors now practically begging their readers to READ THE TAGS.
Iā€™ve been seeing this warning written in summaries, in authorā€™s notes, highlighted in all caps in the actual tags. Iā€™ve read so many apologies written by authors in the comments in response to people chastising the author for writing what they wanted to write, for what they tagged correctly ā€” for what essentially comes down to nothing more than having had other people actively ignore their tags or read despite them.
And there seems to be this bizarre, somehow largely accepted idea that it is the creators job and responsibility to beseech their readers to ā€˜use cautionā€™ and to ā€˜stay safeā€™, to ā€˜be mindful of their healthā€™ā€¦
I am beyond confused here.
Since when??? did exercising the most basic form of common sense and acknowledging oneā€™s personal yeas and nays, likes and limitations, become some other random strangerā€™s burden rather than oneā€™s own? And especially a random person who tagged their work correctly??? Does no one remember how to harness their own powers of discernment and self-regulation???
This little jaunt back onto ao3 has been unlike any that Iā€™ve ever experienced before. What. Happened?????? Who is this new, apparently severely emotionally unstable and obstinately tags-reading resistant audience everyone has come to focus on?
It all feels so out of touch. The basic concept of ao3 is for the reader to seek out what they want, not what they donā€™t want. And to actually read. But there seems to have been an extremely strong shift away from reading. On ao3. A site built specifically for reading and writing. (And other fandom artistic pursuits, but not my focus, atm; though Iā€™m sure whatever this is has crept steadily into all spaces there.)
Plummeting reading comprehension must be somewhat to blame; the popularity of fanfic amongst younger and wider audiences, as well. Butā€¦ young people have always been there, as far as my own experiences go, and it was never like this. Itā€™s as if too many readers donā€™t know how to make good or even practical decisions for themselves anymore, that theyā€™ve lost the skill of choosing, and now believe that they must consume everything that passes before them; ā€” that they have, for some reason, adopted the belief that any turmoil or dislike or discomfort felt within themselves is harm purposely being done to them by the author.
Idk. Idk, idk, idk. Itā€™s just such a bummer to see how much nervousness and distress has entered the community. Authors notes and comments used to be hilarious fun, or a peek into someone elseā€™s real-life world, used to be casual and full of personality, whereas nowadays, there seems to be an underlying hesitancy and distrust, a sort of growing divide between writers and readers, groups which, until recently, very much were not mutually exclusive.

Idiots have been around forever. The more you cater to them, the more entitled they get. It's best to shut that shit down fast and use no warnings that indicate a willingness to entertain stupid complaints.

Reunited 5
Pairing: modern!Sihtric x reader (female)
Authors note: So this is it. The journey has come to the end and I'm a bit sad but also very happy. This fic has a lot my own struggles within it and it has helped me to think over and let go of certain things that had accumulated. But before Sihtric and reader can look forward into the bright and shiny future they have to resolve some unsorted questions. I hope you'll enjoy it.
Warnings: it's emotionally tense with some angst and self reflection but still sweet
Summary: It was supposed to be a short two week trip that turned into five long years apart, just because your best friend couldn't keep her mouth shut. Will the reader and Sihtric manage to repair their broken relationship and find their way back to each other? Or will the reader decide to stay with the handsome and talented Sigtryggr?
Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4
Word Count: 7,8 K
Please remember that comments and reblogs are two things that make writers smile and keep us motivated.
Tumblr media
You felt a surge of betrayal twist through you, an uncomfortable dƩjƠ vu that made your stomach drop. The whole scene was surreal, and your mind spun, trying to piece it all together. But before you could say a word, Sigtryggr's hand found yours under the blanket, his grip firm and panicked.
ā€œThisā€”this isnā€™t what it looks like, I swear,ā€ he stammered, his face pale and clearly horrified by the scene unfolding. He scrambled to sit up, looking between you and the woman standing in the doorway. ā€œThis isā€¦ this is Stiorra, my ex-girlfriend.ā€
Stiorra crossed her arms, one eyebrow raised as she regarded him with a mix of annoyance and disbelief. ā€œAnd in case thereā€™s any doubt,ā€ she interjected, ā€œIā€™m the one who threw him out.ā€ Her eyes flicked to you, and a slightly sheepish smile softened her expression. ā€œTold him to never come back, actually.ā€
Sigtryggr winced, rubbing the back of his neck. ā€œNot exactly a high point in our relationship,ā€ he muttered. Then, as if desperate to regain some semblance of control, he gestured toward the kitchen. ā€œStiorra, why donā€™t you, uhā€¦ wait in the kitchen? Give us a moment?ā€
With a sigh that suggested she was equally exhausted by this awkward situation, Stiorra shrugged. ā€œFine. But weā€™re talking after,ā€ she said, shooting him a look that clearly communicated there was unfinished business between them. She turned on her heel, retreating to the kitchen and leaving the two of you in a tense silence.
You exhaled, still feeling the sting of surprise. ā€œSo, let me get this straight. Your ex-girlfriend who kicked you out now has a key and comes barging in?ā€
Sigtryggrā€™s cheeks flushed as he stumbled over his words. ā€œItā€™sā€¦ complicated. We broke up months ago. She kept the key for emergencies, but I didnā€™t think sheā€™d actually use it. I mean, she made it pretty clear she never wanted to see me again.ā€ He shook his head, his eyes wide with a mixture of embarrassment and desperation. ā€œI had no idea sheā€™d be coming by today, I swear.ā€
You let out a breath, half-amused by his genuine horror at the situation. Despite everything, there was something undeniably ridiculous about it all. Here was this cool, collected artist, now completely rattled by his ex-girlfriend unexpectedly showing up while he was in bed with someone else.
You finally cracked a small smile. ā€œYou couldnā€™t make this up if you tried.ā€
He groaned, rubbing his face with his hands. ā€œThis really isnā€™t how I imagined our morning together going. Iā€™m sorry.ā€
Before you could respond, Stiorraā€™s voice called from the kitchen. ā€œIā€™m making coffee. Thereā€™s milk and sugar somewhereā€”if Sigtryggr actually bought groceries this week, that is.ā€
Sigtryggrā€™s eyes met yours, full of sheepishness, and you couldnā€™t help but laugh, the tension starting to dissolve. ā€œIā€™ll take that as a hint to get dressed,ā€ you said, sliding out of bed and grabbing your clothes, feeling his gaze following you apologetically.
ā€œTake your time,ā€ Stiorra called again, her voice faintly dripping with irony. ā€œIā€™ll try not to make it more awkward.ā€
As if more awkward was even possible, a stifled laugh escaped you as you slipped into your clothes, feeling like you were in some strange, twisted sitcom. Sigtryggr joined you, tossing on his shirt and jeans quickly, his eyes darting nervously between you and the kitchen.
Once you were both dressed, you headed to the kitchen. Stiorra was there, leaning against the counter with a mug in hand, her lips twisted in a wry smile. She looked at you and Sigtryggr with an expression that was part curiosity, part thinly veiled irritation. Two other steaming mugs waited on the counter and you grabbed one like a life saviour.
"Well," she drawled, swirling her coffee. "I see youā€™ve wasted no time finding a replacement." Her gaze flicked from you to Sigtryggr, her tone razor-sharp. "Or were you just waiting for the perfect moment to jump into someone elseā€™s bed, Sigtryggr? Good to know youā€™ve been soā€¦ resilient."
You saw a flicker of hurt cross Sigtryggrā€™s face as he tried to respond, his gaze darting briefly to you before returning to Stiorra, as if caught in some unresolved pull. He shifted beside you, clearing his throat awkwardly. "Stiorra," he managed, his voice tight, "you know itā€™s notĀ  like that. Itā€™s been almost half a year..."
But she didnā€™t give him room to explain. She looked down at her coffee, a hint of sadness breaking through her sarcasm as her fingers tightened around the mug. "I didnā€™t come here to make a scene," she murmured, her tone softening. "I justā€¦ I thought I wanted to move on. But maybe I was wrong."
You swallowed hard, your eyes darted from Sigtryggr to his ex-girlfriend and truth be told the only coherent thought was the increasingly intensive wish for the earth to open up and swallow you whole. Facing lions in the Colosseum would have been a more appealing option than drinking coffee in what youā€™d thought was your new boyfriendā€™s kitchen, watching it turn into a stage for a soap opera. Whoever said, "If something looks too good to be true, it probably is," had clearly known exactly what they were talking about.
Stiorra lifted her gaze to meet Sigtryggrā€™s, her defiance melting into something softer, tinged with regret.Ā
"Siggy, baby, Iā€™m so sorry!" she blurted, her voice cracking as her teary eyes searched his. The sudden burst of emotions startled you both, leaving the room steeped in uncomfortable tension. "Leaving you wasnā€™t what I thought I wanted," she continued, the words tumbling out, unrestrained and unguarded. "It was the biggest mistake of my life, and I just hoped youā€¦ you might feel the same. I couldnā€™t wait any longerā€”I just needed to tell you this." Her gaze darted back to the steaming coffee in her hands, as though she couldnā€™t bear to face him anymore. ā€œI never imagined youā€™d move on so fast, not after everything we had together.ā€
You glanced over at Sigtryggr, who looked as if heā€™d just been slapped with a cold fish. The usual calm, steady demeanour he carried so effortlessly was gone, replaced by a vulnerable uncertainty you hadnā€™t seen before. His mouth opened as if to respond, then closed again, his mind clearly spinning in too many directions to form coherent words. He looked at you briefly, but his attention was drawn back to Stiorra, as if caught by an invisible thread that still connected them.
His eyes softened, a hint of that old, unguarded affection surfacing as he stammered. ā€œStiorra, Iā€¦ I didnā€™t expect this. I thoughtā€¦ we were over. I thought youā€™d moved on.ā€
The longing in his voice was unmistakable. You felt an odd pang, a mixture of empathy and unease as you watched him struggle. The way he looked at her, his gaze clouded with both confusion and something undeniably tender, told you more than his words ever could. And strangely you didnā€™t even feel betrayed. You felt a deep understanding, even sympathy kindling within you.Ā
It was clearly time to make an exit before this scene turned into a full-blown tragicomedy. But before you could even think of a polite way to excuse yourself, Stiorraā€™s gaze shifted to you, a knowing smile tugging at her lips.
ā€œOh, I know who you are,ā€ she said, her tone casualā€”almost too casual. ā€œYou must be the mysterious girl who broke Sihtricā€™s heart. Iā€™ve seen your picture, actually. He still keeps one in his wallet.ā€
ā€œWhat?ā€ The words hit you like a frying pan to the face, and you nearly dropped your coffee mug. This was beyond surreal; it was a nightmare layered with unwanted revelations. You glanced around, looking for any possible way to evaporate from the room as a wave of nausea crept over you.
Stiorra caught your reaction, her gaze sharpening as if sensing your unease. ā€œNo,ā€ she said, her eyes assessing you calmly. ā€œNot like that. Sihtric and I were neverā€¦ involved.ā€ She gave a casual shrug, one that seemed both reassuring and indifferent. ā€œBut I know him well enough. He worked for my father, Uhtred, for quite some time. And we have some mutual friendsā€”Finan, Osferth. Theyā€™re close, practically brothers.ā€
You swallowed, still processing the shock as she spoke, and noticed the way her gaze flickered, slightly more empathetic now. Sigtryggr shifted beside you, clearly uncomfortable with where the conversation was heading, his gaze moving between you and Stiorra.
ā€œStiorra,ā€ he said, clearing his throat, his voice a mixture of discomfort and quiet insistence, ā€œI think weā€™re all getting a bit caught off guard here.ā€
Stiorra shrugged, but her expression softened as she looked back at him. ā€œMaybe,ā€ she admitted, voice gentler now. ā€œBut some things are better said than left hanging.ā€ She turned her attention back to you. ā€œHavenā€™t seen him in a while, butā€¦ he never really got over you, you know.ā€
The words landed like a stone in your chest, and for a moment, you felt the weight of everything youā€™d tried to put behind you pressing in.Ā
ā€œWait, hold on!ā€ you blurted out, the words escaping faster than you could stop them and surely much louder than you wanted. ā€œI broke his heart? What the hell are you talking about? He was the one who found someone else less than a week after I was out of sight.ā€
Stiorraā€™s eyes widened at your outburst. She hesitated before responding, her voice softer, almost cautious. ā€œWaitā€¦ really? I donā€™t know all the details,ā€ she admitted, glancing away briefly, ā€œbut I know for sure that Sihtric has been a mess since you left. Osferth and Finan have been trying to get him back on his feet, trying to knock some sense into him. But heā€™s justā€¦ shut everyone out, suffering in silence.ā€
You opened your mouth to argue, but something in her expression stopped you. There was a subtle reproach that made you falter.
Her words stung. You knew themļæ½ļæ½ļæ½Osferth and Finanā€”Sihtricā€™s closest friends. Meeting them had felt like a significant step, almost as if you were meeting his family. Sihtric barely spoke about his parents or any siblings, but these two were an inseparable part of his life. The night heā€™d introduced you to them still lingered vividly in your memory.
Finan had taken to you right away, looking at you with an approving grin, clapping Sihtric on the shoulder and saying, ā€œFinally, heā€™s found someone who might actually keep him in line.ā€ His easy laughter and quick wit made you feel like youā€™d known him for years, and there was a warmth to his acceptance that had meant more than he probably knew.
Osferth, meanwhile, had been a bit more reserved, a touch of shyness in his gentle eyes. But there had been a sweetness in the way heā€™d talked to you, always quick to ask if you needed anything, checking that you felt included. Youā€™d quickly learned he was the steady, caring presence in their group, looking out for both Sihtric and Finan with a brotherly devotion.
Those early evenings with them had been filled with laughter and endless stories from their nights out. Youā€™d felt embraced by the friendship, a part of the easy bond they all shared. But when Sihtric walked out of your life, that sense of belonging had vanished too. They had been his friends, not yours, and your connection with them had ended as abruptly as your relationship with him.
ā€œLook,ā€ Stiorra continued, her voice pulling you back from your thoughts, ā€œthere are always two sides to a story. But only one truth. If you want to know more, maybeā€¦ maybe you should talk to Finan and Osferth. They know him better than anyone and could probably tell you more than I can.ā€
Without another word, you stood up, the urge to leave overpowering any sense of decorum. Sigtryggr reached out, his face a mix of surprise and worry as he tried to get your attention. ā€œHey, are you okay? Whatā€™s going on?ā€
You shook your head, barely able to meet his gaze. ā€œI justā€¦ I need to go. I needā€¦ā€ The words trailed off, but you didnā€™t even bother to finish the sentence as you hastily grabbed your purse and headed to the doors without a single look back.Ā
You knew that Osferth worked as an assistant stylist at one of the top fashion studios, and Finan had a reputation as a brilliant set designer, always moving between shoots with an infectious energy. They were well-known figures in the industry, so it didnā€™t take long to track them down at a nearby studio where they were scheduled to prepare for an upcoming campaign.
The studio was bustling when you arrived. Assistants hurried about, racks of clothes lined the walls, and the hum of people preparing for a major shoot filled the space. You spotted Finan first, standing with his hands on his hips, joking with a lighting technician, his signature grin lighting up his face. Beside him, Osferth was focused on arranging a set of accessories on a table, his usually reserved expression serious as he worked.
Taking a deep breath, you stepped forward, and Finan caught sight of you. His grin faded, replaced by surprise that quickly gave way to guarded curiosity. He nudged Osferth, who looked up in shock, the familiar softness in his eyes now laced with uncertainty and distance you hadnā€™t expected. The two exchanged a look before approaching you, their movements careful, almost wary, as if they were unsure of how to greet you.
ā€œHey,ā€ you managed, your voice catching. ā€œIā€¦ I need to talk to you. About Sihtric.ā€
ļæ½ļæ½Well,ā€ Finan said, crossing his arms, his voice lacking its usual warmth. ā€œIf it isnā€™t the ghost from Sihtricā€™s past.ā€
The jab landed harder than youā€™d expected, his accusatory tone sinking into you like a heavy stone.
Finanā€™s gaze was steely, his arms crossed tightly over his chest as he fixed you with an unforgiving look. ā€œDo you have any idea what youā€™ve done to him?ā€ he said, his voice thick with frustration. ā€œTwice now, youā€™ve come crashing into his lifeā€”first, tearing him apart, and now, strolling back in like a stranger, as if he doesnā€™t deserve even a shred of understanding for everything heā€™s been through. The least you could do is thank him for what he did for you.ā€
ā€œWhat he did for me?ā€ you repeated, your voice barely a whisper, caught in a haze of disbelief. You couldnā€™t even process the meaning behind his accusations, feeling as if youā€™d just walked into an ambush. You regretted coming here, every instinct screaming at you to turn and leave, to escape this room and the anger that pressed down on you from all sides. Blinking back tears that threatened to spill, you took a shaky step back, but Finan didnā€™t relent.
He moved closer, his gaze piercing, his voice unyielding. ā€œDo you know how long it took him to get his life back together after you left?ā€ he continued, his tone unwavering. ā€œTo even begin piecing himself back together? And then you show up out of nowhere, with no idea what heā€™s been through, and somehow make him fall all over again.ā€
Stunned, you stared at him, but he wasnā€™t finished. ā€œWeā€™ve been trying to help him move on for ages. Osferth and Iā€”do you know how many nights weā€™ve spent picking him up after he shut everyone out, barely holding on? Heā€™s been carrying this burden alone since the day he let you go.ā€ Finan scoffed, his voice low and dark with exasperation. ā€œAnd youā€”you have the nerve to walk back and judge him?ā€
You wanted to move but you felt rooted to the spot as you couldnā€™t keep the tears from rolling down your cheeks anymore. ā€œThank him? For what? For dropping me and finding another less than a week after I wasnā€™t in sight? For ruining my life, leaving me gathering the shards?ā€
Finan drew a deep breath, but Osferth interrupted him, placing a calming hand on Finanā€™s arm, though his face still held traces of disappointment as he looked at you. ā€œFinan wait. Somethingā€™s not right there.ā€ His eyes shifted to you, his expression softening, but only slightly. ā€œAnd thatā€™s all you know about what happened?ā€Ā  he asked, his tone measured but no less serious.Ā
ā€œWhat else is there to know?ā€ you snapped, frustration simmering in your chest. ā€œI thought he loved me, and the next thing I know, heā€™s moved on like I never existed. I think I have a right to be a little angry.ā€
Finan exchanged a glance with Osferth, as if confirming something, then sighed, rubbing his temples. ā€œSo, Gisela never told you why he did it?ā€
You felt your stomach clench at the mention of Gisela. Confusion gave way to a creeping unease, your mind racing to piece together what they were trying to say. ā€œGisela?ā€ you repeated, barely masking the surprise in your voice. ā€œWhat does she have to do with any of this?ā€
Osferth shifted uncomfortably, his gaze turning thoughtful. ā€œGisela came to him. Said it would be better if heā€¦ stepped aside. She told him about that offer you got, the scholarship and the contract ā€“ that once in a lifetime opportunity for you. Sheā€™s the one who convinced him to let you go. She told him it would be best for you to focus on your future, that he was holding you back.Ā  And Sihtricā€¦ well, he thought he was doing what was best for you.ā€
ā€œBest for me?ā€ The words felt hollow, ringing with an irony that cut deeper with each syllable. You felt a wave of disbelief crash over you, your stomach twisting as you processed his words.
Osferth nodded, his gaze sombre. ā€œHe figured if he justā€¦ cut ties, youā€™d have no reason to look back. He tried to bury how he felt, make you believe heā€™d moved on. But we both know it tore him apart. Heā€™s never been the same since you left.ā€
You felt your knees weaken, the ground beneath you seeming to tilt as the truth settled over you, each piece of information landing like a blow. The anger, the hurt, the betrayalā€”all of it twisted into something else, something that left you feeling hollow. Your legs gave way, turning to jelly, and you would have surely hit the ground if Finan and Osferth hadnā€™t steadied you from each side.
ā€œEasy there!ā€ Finanā€™s voice had softened, a warmth returning that you hadnā€™t expected as he guided you, his anger replaced by concern. He quickly waved to a set assistant walking nearby. ā€œGet a chairā€”and some water!ā€ he called, his tone firm but urgent.
You barely noticed the assistant rushing off. A chair was brought over, and Finan and Osferth eased you into it, the world around you blurring as you tried to comprehend what you just heard. Osferth knelt beside you, his eyes steady and full of sadness as he handed you the water.
ā€œIā€¦ I didnā€™t know,ā€ you stammered, the words feeling small, inadequate. You looked at them, your voice cracking. ā€œI thought heā€¦ I thought he didnā€™t care. I thought he wanted me gone.ā€
Finan shook his head, his gaze softening as he met your eyes. ā€œIt was never about him not caring. He thought he was doing the right thingā€”for you.ā€
ā€œHeā€™s been living with that choice,ā€ Finan added quietly, his eyes meeting yours, ā€œbecause he thought it would give you a better life.ā€
Osferth placed a comforting hand on your shoulder, his tone gentle. ā€œSometimes people make the hardest choices for the ones they love. Doesnā€™t mean they donā€™t hurt just as much.ā€
ā€œMaybeā€¦ maybe itā€™s time you hear it from him,ā€ Finan said softly, his tone no longer accusatory but understanding.
ā€”---------------------------------------------------
The worry gnawed at you, growing with each unanswered call, each message left unread. Sihtric had vanished after the fashion show, and as the hours without a word turned into an entire day, you found yourself pacing around your apartment like a caged animal, restless and frustrated.
You hadnā€™t wanted to go to his placeā€”not at first. The idea of stepping into his space felt like giving up the neutral ground youā€™d hoped to keep. But as your concern deepened, it became clear that there was no other option. With a resigned sigh, you grabbed your things and headed out, finally making your way to his apartment.
When you arrived, you looked up to see a warm glow coming from Sihtricā€™s window. Relief flooded over youā€”he was home. You exhaled deeply, feeling the tightness in your chest ease, if only a little. You deliberately chose the stairs over the elevator, hoping the walk up would give you time to gather your thoughts. But even with the extra moments, your mind remained frustratingly blank, and your heart raced like a drumbeat in your chest.
Standing in front of his door, you raised your hand to the doorbell, trying to ignore the nervous twist in your stomach. But instead of ringing, you pressed your palm and ear to the door, straining to hear any sign of movement on the other side. Come on, you can do this, you urged yourself, taking a deep, steadying breath. Finally, you lifted your hand and pressed the button, feeling your pulse quicken as you waited for him to answer.
A sinking feeling twisted in your gut as there was only silence on the other side but you refused to give up. You pressed the doorbell again, then again, determined to get some response. Still, nothing.
ā€œSihtric,ā€ you finally called. ā€œI know youā€™re in there. I can see the light. Please, just talk to me.ā€
Silence stretched, pressing down on you. Frustrated, you balled your fists and pounded on the door, the echo of each hit ricocheting down the empty corridor. Somewhere down the hall, a door creaked open, and you glanced over your shoulder to find a pair of curious, disapproving eyes peering at you through a crack. But you were beyond caring about nosy neighbours. Ignoring them, you turned back to Sihtricā€™s door and knocked again, your voice catching slightly as you called his name once more.
Just as you felt the last shimmer of hope begin to slip away, you heard a faint shuffle behind the door, the sound of hesitant footsteps drawing closer. Relief flickered through you, only to fade as his voice, rough and bitter, cut through the silence.
ā€œJustā€¦ go away,ā€ he muttered, his tone carrying a heaviness that felt like a punch to the chest. ā€œThereā€™s nothing to talk about.ā€
ā€œSihtric?ā€ you called, pressing a hand against the door. ā€œPlease, open up. I just want to talk.ā€
Silence. But you knew he was there, so you waited. A bitter, muffled voice finally answered. ā€œWhy? Thereā€™s nothing more to talk about,ā€ he replied, his tone rough, barely masking the exhaustion in his voice. ā€œJustā€¦ leave me alone.ā€
Ignoring his dismissal, you leaned closer, unwilling to let him shut you out. ā€œSihtric, please. I was wrong. I was wrong not wanting to listen to you, shutting you out. Please open the door, so we can talk. I justā€¦ I need to understand.ā€
He scoffed from the other side, the bitterness in his voice cutting. ā€œUnderstand? You want to understand now? Why? You have your perfect little life, your perfect job, your prince charming.ā€ His words were laced with sarcasm. ā€œYou want to judge me? I already gave you the chance for that at the show. I saw it on your face. I donā€™t need more of that.ā€
You pressed your forehead against the door, your heart pounding as you tried to will back tears slowly gathering in the corners of your eyes. ā€œIā€™m sorry. Sihtric, can you hear me? Iā€™m so sorry. And I wasnā€™t judging you, Sihtric. I was justā€¦ surprised. Iā€™m not here to make things worse. I came because I care.ā€
On the other side of the door, Sihtric stood still, barely breathing, his entire body tense. He could feel the ache in his shoulders and neck, the result of hours spent tossing and turning through a sleepless night, haunted by thoughts of you and his own spiralling decisions. Every muscle felt heavy, weighed down by exhaustion, regret and anger.
He wanted to open the door. Part of him ached to see you, to hear your voice without the barrier between you. But another partā€”larger, stronger, the part that had convinced him to let you go years agoā€”held him back. That part reminded him of everything heā€™d become, the mess heā€™d made of his life since then, and the humiliation of his drunken, jealousy-fueled outburst at the fashion show. He clenched his fists, fighting the shame that burned inside him, wondering if he could ever face you again.
His heart pounded, each beat reverberating with the bitterness that had taken root within him. What did he have to offer you now? He was broken, he knew that much, and heā€™d spent too long building up his defences to believe someone would want to come close enough to help him pick up the pieces. Especially not youā€”the one person heā€™d hurt most by pushing you away.
Drawing a deep shaky breath he slowly slid down to the ground, resting his back against the door. His elbows propped on his knees he buried his face in his hands, the world reduced to the darkness behind his closed eyelids.Ā
The memories of the fashion show flashed in his mindā€”your face when heā€™d approached you, the shock and disappointment in your eyes, the way heā€™d stumbled through his words, lost in a haze of jealousy and alcohol. The regret was a deep wound now, throbbing with every word you spoke on the other side of the door.
What could he say to you? That he was sorry? Sorry didnā€™t even begin to cover the tangled mess heā€™d made of things.Ā
The sound of your voice, pleading, coaxing him to open the door, tore at him. He could feel you there, so close, and it made everything hurt more sharply. Sihtric let out a shaky breath, feeling the first sting of tears pressing at the corners of his eyes, but he held them back, unwilling to let himself break down, even now.
ā€œWhy are you here?ā€ he muttered under his breath, as much to himself as to you. His voice was rough, barely hiding the bitterness he felt, not even toward you but toward himself. ā€œWhat good can come from this?ā€
He sat there, torn between the urge to stand up, unlock the door, and reach for you, and the dark, cynical voice in his mind that told him to stay hidden, that he didnā€™t deserve whatever you were here to offer.
And yet, through it all, he couldnā€™t help but listen, couldnā€™t ignore the hope in your words, the softness in your tone. He could almost feel you on the other side, feel the warmth you brought, a warmth he hadnā€™t felt in years.Ā
But that hope was terrifying. Because if he opened the door, if he let you inā€¦ The very idea of you seeing him like thisā€”broken, regret-filled and barely holding it togetherā€”filled him with shame. He didnā€™t know if he was strong enough to do that. He probably wasnā€™t.Ā
Silence hung in the air, thick and suffocating. Sihtricā€™s breathing grew uneven, and for a moment, you wondered if heā€™d even heard you. Then, his voice cut through the quiet, rough and worn, tinged with a bitterness that struck you like a physical blow.
ā€œI donā€™t need your sympathy,ā€ he muttered, the words laced with frustration. ā€œI donā€™t need anything from you. Just leave me aloneā€”I donā€™t want you to see me like this.ā€
ā€œSihtric,ā€ you called softly, pressing your hand flat against the door. ā€œPleaseā€¦ just open the door.ā€
When he didnā€™t respond, you clenched your fists and banged against the door, louder this time, not caring who heard. ā€œSihtric, Iā€™m not going anywhere! You donā€™t have to shut me out. I knowā€¦ I know what you did for me. I know why you left.ā€
There was a pause, so deep and tense you could hear the faint sounds from the street outside, muffled and distant. Finally, his voice broke the silence, barely audible, fragile. ā€œWho told you that?ā€
You took a steadying breath, hoping he could hear the sincerity in your tone. ā€œFinan and Osferth,ā€ you replied. ā€œThey told me everything. How you thought leaving was best for me, how you made it look like youā€™d moved on just so I wouldnā€™t come backā€¦ how you suffered through it all because you thought it was the right thing.ā€
There was another pause, and then he laughed, a hollow, defeated sound that twisted painfully in your chest. ā€œSo, what?ā€ he said, his voice wavering, barely holding steady. ā€œYou came here to pity me? To see what a mess Iā€™ve made of myself?ā€ He sounded tired, as if the words themselves were an effort. ā€œI donā€™t need your pity either.ā€
For a moment, all you could hear was his unsteady breathing. You imagined him, standing just on the other side, close enough to touch if only heā€™d open the door. It was driving you madā€”having him so close but so far away at the same time. You silently cursed yourself for turning him down, for refusing to listen when he had tried to talk to you before. Why had you been so cold? Why had you let fear take over?
But it wasnā€™t just your fear that had brought you to this moment. Gisela. The thought struck like a dagger, bitter and sharp. Why had she meddled? Why had she pushed Sihtric into making that choice without ever telling you? All those times sheā€™d been there, comforting you, assuring you that moving on was the right thing to doā€”she had known. She had known the truth and had kept it from you. Why, Gisela? you thought bitterly, your hands balling into fists against the door. Why did you do this to me? To us?
You closed your eyes, pressing your forehead against the door, the whirlwind of emotions inside you felt unbearable, but amidst the chaos, a single thought began to crystallize with startling clarity. Iā€™m not letting this go. Not this time. You had spent too long blaming others for what had happenedā€”Sihtric, the universe, now Gisela. Too long nursing your pain, placing it on a pedestal like some kind of shield to justify not moving forward, not letting yourself feel again. But you couldnā€™t hide from the truth anymore. This wasnā€™t just pain or regretā€”this was love. It had never stopped being love, and it was time you faced it.
You straightened slightly, you werenā€™t going to let the past define what was left of your future. This was your chance, and you werenā€™t going to let fear or pride hold you back any longer. Sihtric deserved the truth, and so did you. He needed to hear it, to know that you still loved himā€”not the sanitized, half-forgotten version of love youā€™d pretended to bury, but the real thing. The kind of love that ached, that fought, that refused to let go.
And he needed to know the part youā€™d played in letting it all fall apart. The anger youā€™d clung to, the walls youā€™d built to protect yourself, all of it had driven you away from him when you should have stayed and fought, and you needed to own that.Ā
ā€œIā€™m not giving up on this,ā€ you whispered, more to yourself than to him, though you hoped he could feel the determination in your voice. ā€œNot this time, not again.ā€
You took a deep breath, feeling the door as your only support as you leaned against it. ā€œSihtric,ā€ you began, your voice trembling, but there was no hesitation in your words. ā€œPlease, just listen to me. Donā€™t make the same mistake I did. Please, Iā€™m begging you just hear me out. Iā€™m here becauseā€¦ because I never stopped loving you.ā€
You could feel his breathing hitch on the other side, but he didnā€™t say anything, and you went on, needing him to hear everything.
ā€œI wanted to hate you,ā€ you confessed, your voice breaking slightly. ā€œI tried. I thought that if I could just hate you, it would be easier. But I couldnā€™t. I couldnā€™t hate you, not really. Even when I tried to move on, to make a life without youā€¦ I couldnā€™t let go of you. No one else could replace what you mean to me.ā€
On the other side of the door, Sihtric let out a ragged breath, his hands covering his face.Ā
The weight of your own words took their toll, and slowly, your legs gave way. You slid down to the ground, sitting with your back pressed against the door, your head resting against the wood as you stared at the empty hallway in front of you.Ā
ā€œWhen you wanted to talk to me that day at the shootā€¦ I was so cold because I was scared, Sihtric,ā€ you whispered, the confession falling from your lips before you could stop it. ā€œI was afraid that if I let you in, even a little, Iā€™d break. That all the walls I put up to protect myself would come crashing down.ā€
Sihtric listened, his face buried in his hands, feeling every word you spoke burning holes in his soul. He wanted to reach for you, to say something, but something kept him still, the knowledge of everything heā€™d put both of you through holding him back. His breath was shaky, his heart pounding as he imagined you there, only inches away.
ā€œI tried to move on, Sihtric,ā€ you continued. ā€œI tried to make a life without you. I even tried to love someone else, to find what I had with you with someone new. But it didnā€™t work. No oneā€¦ no one ever felt like you.ā€
Sihtricā€™s hands dropped from his face, and he pressed his palms flat against the door, his fingers splaying out as if they could reach you through the barrier between you as he felt his resolve breaking, his walls crumbling bit by bit.
ā€œI thought letting you go was the best thing I could do for you,ā€ he murmured. ā€œI thought that if I hurt you enough, youā€™d decide to leave me behindā€¦ and youā€™d never look back. I wanted you to be successful and happy, even if it meant I couldnā€™t be.ā€
A tear slipped down your cheek as you listened, your heart breaking all over again. ā€œDonā€™t you see?ā€ you said, your voice barely a whisper. ā€œI was never happy without you. I kept telling myself that I could be, but deep down, I knewā€¦ I knew Iā€™d never feel whole again.ā€
For a moment, the two of you sat there, separated by inches of wood and miles of unspoken feelings, both of you held captive by the same painful memories and buried longing.
ā€œYou donā€™t understandā€¦ā€ he continued, his voice breaking. ā€œIā€™m not who I used to be. Iā€™m notā€¦ Iā€™m not enough for you, you need someone better. I donā€™t even know who I am anymore. You should be out there, living that life youā€™ve created and earned, not hereā€¦ with someone like me.ā€
You swallowed hard, tears pooling in your eyes but refusing to fall. ā€œI donā€™t need someone better, Sihtric. I need you,ā€ you said, your voice trembling but resolute. ā€œThe real you, flaws and all. I canā€™t pretend anymore that everythingā€™s fine without you in my life. I donā€™t care about perfect, Sihtric. I justā€¦ I just want you.ā€
The silence behind the door was deafening, stretching longer than you could bear. Your chest tightened, every second dragging on like an eternity. You strained to hear anythingā€”a shuffle, a breath, even the slightest indication that he was still thereā€”but there was nothing. The hollow quiet seeped into your heart, threatening to shatter it into a thousand pieces again.
Was this really the end? The thought weighed heavy, pressing against you until you couldnā€™t sit upright any longer. Slowly, you laid your head down on your knees, clutching them tightly as if to hold yourself together. You felt the sting of finality creeping in, the cruel certainty that you had done everything you could. It was time to stand up, to walk away, and this time, not look back.
But just as you started to gather the strength to rise, a faint, almost imperceptible sound reached your ears. A click. Your breath hitched as the unmistakable sound of the lock turning echoed softly through the silence.
You turned your head at the sound of the door creaking open, and there he was. Sihtric stood in the doorway. He looked exhausted, dark rings encircling his beautiful large eyes, face shadowed and tired. His hair was disheveled, and his shirt was rumpled, hanging loosely on his frame, but you didnā€™t care. All you could see was him, standing there, finally letting you in.
You jumped to your feet, propelled by a wave of relief and emotion, and lunged at him before you could think twice. The sudden movement caught him off guard, and the two of you stumbled backward into the apartment, the door swinging shut behind you. Your arms wrapped tightly around him, holding on as though he might disappear again if you let go. Tears streamed down your cheeks, soaking into his rumpled shirt as you buried your face against his broad, muscular chest.
For a moment, he stood frozen, his hands hovering uncertainly by his sides. Then, slowly, hesitantly, his arms came around you, pulling you closer. He let out a shuddering breath, the tension in his body giving way as he held you tightly, like he was afraid this was just another fleeting dream.
ā€œIā€™m sorry,ā€ you whispered, your voice muffled against him, trembling with emotion. ā€œIā€™m so, so sorry, Sihtric. For shutting you out. For not fighting harder. For letting my anger win.ā€
His chest rose and fell beneath you as he struggled to steady his breathing. His voice was rough, as he finally spoke. ā€œYou have nothing to be sorry for. It was meā€¦ all of it. I pushed you away. I thought it was the only way.ā€
You pulled back slightly, just enough to look up at him, your hands gripping the fabric of his shirt.Ā
ā€œI shouldā€™ve fought for us,ā€ you said, your voice breaking. ā€œI shouldā€™ve seen through it, through what you were doing. But I didnā€™t.ā€
His hand came up to cup your face, his touch tentative, almost disbelieving. ā€œYou couldnā€™t have known,ā€ he said softly, his thumb brushing over your cheek. ā€œI made sure of that. I wanted you to move on, to be happy.ā€
ā€œI wasnā€™t happy,ā€ you said, shaking your head. ā€œI could never be happy without you.ā€
He closed his eyes, his forehead resting against yours as a tear slid down his cheek. ā€œI donā€™t know if I can fix this. If I can fix me.ā€
You reached up, your fingers tracing the stubble along his jaw as you steadied your voice. ā€œYou donā€™t have to fix anything. Weā€™ll figure it out together. Just, please, donā€™t push me away again.ā€
For a long moment, he didnā€™t say anything. He just held you, his hands trembling slightly as they clung to you. Then, he leaned in and his lips brushed yours in a soft, lingering kiss that carried the weight of everything he couldnā€™t say.
Sihtric's lips trembled against yours, as you pressed into him, your hands clutching harder the fabric of his shirt, silently telling him that you were here, that this was real. You kissed him back pouring all your emotions into that one single gentle touch of lips, getting more heated and desperate with each passing moment.
When he pulled back just enough to catch his breath, he began to press a trail of kisses across your cheeks, your forehead, the bridge of your nose.Ā
ā€œI love you,ā€ he murmured between kisses, his voice rough and low. ā€œIā€™ve always loved you. Even when I tried to forgetā€¦ when I tried to move on, I couldnā€™t.ā€ His lips found yours again, more insistent this time, as though he couldnā€™t get enough, couldnā€™t hold back the flood of emotions heā€™d kept buried for so long.
ā€œI tried to find someone else,ā€ he admitted, his voice breaking as he pulled back just enough to rest his forehead against yours. His breath was warm and unsteady. ā€œI thought I could replace what we had. But it was never the same. No one could ever be you.ā€ His hands moved to your waist, pulling you closer, his grip firm but gentle. ā€œI donā€™t want anyone else. I canā€™t. Itā€™s always been you, and it will always be you.ā€
Without warning, he scooped you up into his strong arms, holding you effortlessly as though you weighed nothing. You gasped softly, your arms instinctively wrapping around his neck as he looked down at you, his eyes filled with something raw and unrestrained.
ā€œI need you,ā€ he said, his gaze locked on yours. ā€œI need you in every part of my life. And right nowā€¦ I need to show you how much I love you.ā€
You smiled through tears, you fingers tangling in his thick, disheveled hair. You pulled him closer and with a low almost desperate growl his lips captured yours again as he carried you further into the apartment.
ā€”-----------------------------------------------------------
The soft hum of voices and the gentle clinking of glasses filled the air as you arrived at the exhibition, a feeling of anticipation settling in your chest. Gisela was waiting for you near the entrance, her ever-poised demeanor slightly off-kilter as she scanned the crowd. When her eyes landed on you, a flicker of somethingā€”relief? Concern?ā€”crossed her face, and she hurried over.
ā€œThere you are,ā€ she said, taking your hand as though to steady you. Her tone carried an edge of urgency, and you could tell she was gearing up to say something important. ā€œIā€™m glad you came. But listen, before you go inside, thereā€™s something I need to tell you.ā€
Her voice lowered conspiratorially as she leaned closer. ā€œSigtryggrā€¦ heā€™s here. And he brought someone. A girlfriend, apparently.ā€ Her words were careful, but her gaze flickered with unease, clearly gauging your reaction.
You raised an eyebrow, a flicker of amusement rising in you. ā€œThatā€™s fine, Gisela,ā€ you said, squeezing her hand lightly. ā€œSigtryggr and Iā€¦ we werenā€™t meant to be. Iā€™m happy for him.ā€
She blinked, slightly taken aback by your calm response, but pressed on. ā€œWell, I thought you should know. But I also have someone I want you to meet.ā€ Her voice brightened slightly, as though trying to distract you from the potential awkwardness waiting inside.
You tilted your head, an affectionate smile creeping onto your face. ā€œActually, Gisela, I have someone I want you to meet first.ā€
Before Gisela could respond, Sihtric stepped forward from behind you. He wasnā€™t dressed to blend into the crowd of sharply tailored suits and polished shoes that filled the gallery, yet somehow, he looked effortlessly striking.Ā
A dark, fitted leather jacket hung perfectly over his broad shoulders, paired with a simple, black t-shirt that clung to his lean, muscular frame. Fitted jeans and scuffed boots completed the look, adding a touch of ruggedness that made him stand out in all the right ways.
His dark hair was neatly tied back, but a few rogue strands fell across his sharp cheekbones, softening the intensity of his piercing eyes. He looked effortlessly cool, the kind of man who drew attention without even trying, and the subtle smirk on his lips only added to the effect.
Sihtric slipped his hand into yours, your fingers intertwining, and the look on Giselaā€™s face was priceless. She was frozen, her gaze locking on him as if she couldnā€™t believe what she was seeing. Her usual poise faltered, and for the first time, she seemed genuinely at a loss for words. Her eyes flicked between you and Sihtric, wide with shock, her mouth opening and closing slightly as though searching for somethingā€”anythingā€”to say.
ā€œSihtric,ā€ you said warmly, your voice filled with affection as you glanced up at him. He responded by slipping his arm around your waist, his hand resting at the small of your back.
Gisela finally found her voice, though it was a touch higher-pitched than usual. ā€œIā€¦ didnā€™t realizeā€¦ā€ she stammered, her gaze darting to you as if silently questioning how, when, and why this had happened.
You cut her off with a gentle but firm nudge to the side, brushing past her with a smile. ā€œGisela, weā€™ll catch up later. Right now, there are a few people weā€™d like to say hello to.ā€
Sihtricā€™s arms wrapped securely around you as you walked into the exhibition together, his warmth grounding you. You caught sight of Sigtryggr and Stiorra in the center of the gallery, standing close, their heads tilted toward each other as they shared a quiet laugh. Whatever lingering awkwardness might have existed between you and Sigtryggr seemed to dissolve as you approached, Sihtric at your side.
ā€œSigtryggr,ā€ you greeted warmly, your smile genuine. ā€œItā€™s good to see you.ā€
Sigtryggr turned, his expression flickering with brief surprise before softening into a polite smile. ā€œAnd you,ā€ he replied, his gaze briefly darting to Sihtric before settling back on you. ā€œI see youā€™veā€¦ moved on as well.ā€
ā€œSeems like weā€™ve both found where weā€™re meant to be,ā€ you replied, your tone light, though the weight of those words resonated deeply within you.
Stiorra raised her glass with a mischievous grin. ā€œWell, well. Isnā€™t this a picture-perfect reunion?ā€ she quipped, her tone teasing but kind.
Sihtricā€™s arm tightened around your waist as he leaned down, pressing a gentle kiss to your temple. ā€œA reunion, maybe,ā€ he murmured just for you, his voice warm and low. ā€œBut what matters is where we go from here.ā€
And as you stood there, surrounded by art, by people who had once been tangled in your past, you couldnā€™t help but smile as for the first time in a long while, the future felt beautifully, wonderfully yours.

FAQ
What is the Escape Room Event? How does it work?
-> All teams are given a clue to start out. These clues will lead the team to a prompt. If you get stuck don't worry! Teams will be allowed to vote on hints. There are 5 rooms to solve, and for each room "escaped", your team is given the aforementioned prompt to create for. These can be created a few different ways: every person in the team takes a prompt to fulfill (or, each person creates one or two full pieces, depending on team size, throughout the course of the event); all team members work together to fulfill every prompt (or, each person contributes to each prompt! A webweave made with multiple people looking for content, while others are writing drabbles or doodling something to include, multiple artists working on the same art piece, one fic broken up into multiple parts for each writer, the ideas are endless); or any other combination your team would like to try, as long as everyone is participating! There is no penalty to not finishing all the rooms, this is all for fun!
How do I participate?
-> Fill out our sign-up form, and join our Discord, which is linked above the cut! This is where we will be sending most of our announcements and information, so this is required to participate. You are free to join using a throwaway or sock account, and you do not need to talk -- this is for ease of access on our end, especially if we need to reach out to anyone for any reason.
How do I join a team?
-> Teams will be randomly selected! If there is anyone you specifically do not want to be teamed with, please let a mod know privately
Is AO3 posting required?
-> You are not required to post onto AO3, but we will have a collection available for anyone who would like to!

Help Fandom Wiki!
So, my post about me doing my Enhanced Aph Wiki has gotten ALOT of attention, and I'm shocked at the positive response it has gotten.
However, I made an important reblog/comments by both me and @lggy regarding the Fandom Aph Wiki. In my original post, I talked about how I wasn't sasified with the Fandom wiki or with Fandom in general. While not outright stated, it still gave out the impression that I was trying to slander those who work on the Aphmau Wiki on Fandom.
So, for some clarification;
A.) I am NOT slandering the people who work hard on the Aph Wiki on Fandom! They are doing great work, and I completely understand why they haven't transfered off of Fandom (theres a risk of being stripped of everything and Ioosing), and considering how popular Fandom is as a site I'm not saying they should. That's a shit ton of work for people to do.
B.) I am NOT suggesting that people of the fandom should leave that wiki, or that I am trying to upstage the massive amount of effort that has gone into the current wiki. There is alot of effort put in there, and they need help. I can understand fustration when you're working hard on something for fandom then it getting disregarded by someone who just came out of no where.
If this was what you got out of my original post, then I am really sorry. I never was trying to insinuate anything rather then "here's an idea that I'm gonna work on and I just wanted to show you the idea!"
My personal beef with Fandom Wiki is with the site Fandom rather then the admins and editors that help mantain the pages. My beef comes with how Fandom can act and the sheer amount of ads on their pages. Never the people who voulenteer their time and effort to keeping communities' wikis up.
The wiki idea I have is incredibly in-depth. Like, full on episode transcript of actions and dialouge, as well as tons of screenshots showing outfits, and even meta elaboration (i.e. the amulet in Season 1, Episode 91 that is shown is from Thaumcraft. Season 1 Shadowknight armor is made from the Nether Scorpion Armor from Mo'Creatures, etc.). Walls of text meant to be a reference point.
This type of description, elabroation and content doesn't really work with Fandom Wiki. They can't elaborate every single thing when it's meant to be a quick run-down, not a doctoral thesis of explaining Minecraft Roleplay. Enchanted/Enhanced is a personal project for me that I wanted to share to Aphblr mostly to share resources. I wanted to make an uber detailed wiki archive for myself, and to share to for fic writers/artist who need a super specific reference.
But the major thing here is that Fandom Aph Wiki needs help! They need more people to expand and help that wiki, as there are alot of incompleted pages and edits. There's already a team of people there and they can always use more hands! There's even a list nicely made by Iggy on what needs to be done and what needs the most work on.
The Enhanced/Enchanted Wiki won't be avalablie in any time soon considering that this is a personal project to my standards, I am working on this solo, I have no funding for it or any means of funding, and I have college that I'm starting next week. The soonest I could give any real update would be possibly 2 weeks, and that's the earliest I could give.
Fandom Aph Wiki? Has none of the issues above! By all means they have way more established compared to what I have right now, and they have everything up!
If any of you are possibly intrested in helping, please contacting @lggy !
Iggy is the Main Admin on the Fandom Wiki, and they have a list of things that need help with already ready to show so it can get done asap.

Fic Writer End of Year Round-up!!
(belated but whatever) Answer and then tag 3 or more creators to keep the game going!!
I was tagged by @skyfallscotland and @littedidyouknow šŸ„°šŸ„°šŸ„°
1. How many words did you publish on AO3 in 2024?
365,883!
2. How many fics did you complete this year?
16!
3. How many in-progress or currently ongoing fics did you start this year?
Only one WIP for me as of right now, my baby In The Heat Of It All. This is a good time to announce that there wonā€™t be any updates during January in all likelihood.
4. What was your favorite thing you wrote?
Show Me Yours. It feels the most mine of all my fics, and I absolutely wrote it for me.
5. What piece was your most experimental or different from your usual style?
Iā€™m not super experimental overall, since I generally know what POV/tense I like, and I donā€™t stray from that, but I feel like the International Incident series was pretty experimental in that it was actually erotica, and Iā€™d never done that before!
6. Did any of your fics surprise you, either while writing or with their reception?
To Hate And To Hold had an insane reception that I was not expecting at all. I think a general rule is that the fics *I* like the most are not the fics that everyone else seems to like the most, but it was crazy to see in real time, especially with a one shot.
7. Do you have a fic you wrote and loved that went under the radar? (This is your sign to reblog/repost it!)
In The Heat Of It All has been consistently flying under the radar for whatever reason, which makes me so sad because itā€™s absolutely my best work. Foreign Affairs also definitely flew under the radar, but maybe this is an anti masturbation fandom, IDK.
8. Who is an artist that inspired you?
I love @essjaywrites drawing of Rhi and Viā€™s fridge here! I havenā€™t quite gotten around to reading this fic yet, but I love the representation of their friendship, and I think about it loads!!
9. Who is an author that inspired you?
All my brainstorming over the last few months has involved the lovely miss @maethologies, and she inspires me so much. Genuinely, yā€™all would not have gryphon rider x without her, or the end of OTRA, or the latter half of kinktober.
10. Who is a new author you discovered?
Literally all of you with when I joined the fandom, LOL, but special shout out to @justallihere. Iā€™m so grateful for Storm In The Quiet and all the other wonderful writing sheā€™s given us. SITQ was a really bright light last spring when I needed it ā¤ļø
11. Did you do any collaborations? How did it start?
Technically, no. However! @maethologies and I have been. pounding ideas back and forth for an AU we are co-writing via DM, and we both have written pieces of the full fic!! That counts, I think. I think Iā€™ll keep how it started top secret for now, thoughā€¦
12. What accomplishments are you most proud of?
I was re-reading my journal yesterday, from around the time I wrote Of Mothers and Storms, and I said there how happy I was to be writing something more stress free after dealing with some of my original stuff. Iā€™m so proud that I found that happiness again, and Iā€™ve been really working on figuring out how to make that feeling more sustainable.
13. What did you learn about writing and creating this year?
Writing and posting are SEPARATE activities!
14. Any advice youā€™d like to share with new or aspiring writers?
Get words on the page!! My most practical advice is that when whatever Iā€™m writing scares me, I shut my eyes. Do it scared. Also, sprints! Also, finding friends who you can send snippets to!!
15. What are you creative goals for 2025?
Top secret! šŸ¤«
Iā€™m not tagging anyone because I am so very late, but if anyone still wants to jump in, do it!! and tag me!! It was so lovely seeing everyoneā€™s contributions. Happy new year!!

The Be My Valentine Challenge 2024
An event from @timecanalwayshealyou
šŸ’Œ šŸ’Œ šŸ’Œ šŸ’Œ šŸ’Œ šŸ’Œ šŸ’Œ šŸ’Œ šŸ’Œ šŸ’Œ šŸ’Œ šŸ’Œ šŸ’Œ šŸ’Œ
The Be My Valentine Challenge is a challenge for writers, artists, and just any kind of creator, from the first of February to the 14th!
The idea is to create thirteen smaller, lead-up pieces based on the prompts; for example, ficlets/drabbles/one-shots, couplets, small artworks, individual gifs, et. cetera - and finish the challenge with a larger work; a fic, a full poem, a gifset, a big artwork, whatever sparks for you!
They can be a series or separate, and you're free to change mediums or fandoms for different days. If you'd rather create fourteen small works, or all large ones, or a combination of both, that's completely up to you! Prompts can be used after the event, combined, just do whatever! Only "properly" used prompts will be reblogged to this page, however.
The catch; it's all romance prompts, in the spirit of Valentine's Day and because everyone on this site is single and lonely.
Each day has a quote from an iconic or relevant romance film (The Notebook, Red, White and Royal Blue, The Fault In Our Stars, Pride And Prejudice, etc.), an iconic love song, and a romantic clichƩ, act, or item.
This account will be reblogging a few works (art, drabbles, ficposts, etc.) from the event tag (bemyvalentine2024) each day. Full tagging rules, the transcribed prompt list, and other event details are under the cut. If you're unsure about anything, send in an ask! Happy Creating!
šŸ’Œ šŸ’Œ šŸ’Œ šŸ’Œ šŸ’Œ šŸ’Œ šŸ’Œ šŸ’Œ šŸ’Œ šŸ’Œ šŸ’Œ šŸ’Œ šŸ’Œ šŸ’Œ
Tumblr media
There will be an ao3 collection open from the first of February to the fourteenth for submission. Artworks, gifsets, etc. posted to tumblr should be tagged appropriately to be seen as part of the event.
The official spotify playlist for the event can be found here.
šŸ’Œ šŸ’Œ šŸ’Œ šŸ’Œ šŸ’Œ šŸ’Œ šŸ’Œ šŸ’Œ šŸ’Œ šŸ’Œ šŸ’Œ šŸ’Œ šŸ’Œ šŸ’Œ
Anyone who completes this event is considered a Valentine, and anyone who participates is a Lover. At the end of the event, a form will be put out, so if you wish to be tagged in a masterpost, keep an eye out! I won't be fact-checking, it's an honour system, so please be honest.
There will be completion and participation badges, too! They're in the works as we speak!
šŸ’Œ šŸ’Œ šŸ’Œ šŸ’Œ šŸ’Œ šŸ’Œ šŸ’Œ šŸ’Œ šŸ’Œ šŸ’Œ šŸ’Œ šŸ’Œ šŸ’Œ šŸ’Œ
Tagging System:
event tag - #bemyvalentine2024
prompt tag - #bemyvalentineno1, #bemyvalentineno2, etc.
(Or #bemyvalentinealt1, #bemyvalentinealt2, if you use alt promtps)
the theme or specific prompt/s you chose - #love poems, #quote, etc.
fandom or oc - #stranger things, #original content, etc.
any trigger warnings/nsfw tags if needed
and then your own tags!
Only works tagged correctly will be reblogged to this page, so please take note!
šŸ’Œ šŸ’Œ šŸ’Œ šŸ’Œ šŸ’Œ šŸ’Œ šŸ’Œ šŸ’Œ šŸ’Œ šŸ’Œ šŸ’Œ šŸ’Œ šŸ’Œ šŸ’Œ

ao3 wrapped [writers edition]
from this game and with thanks to this sweetie @killerandhealerqueen ā™„ļøā™„ļø
1.Ā  Favorite work you wrote this year?
'even gods can't change the past'. i liked writing about gahan doing something immoral for understandable reasons.
2. Biggest surprise while writing this year?
i've improved at writing settings and complex characters!
3. How many works did you publish this year?
12, with numerous plot bunnies tagged as #myficlets on hereĀ
4. What work are you most proud of (regardless of kudos/hits)?
'everything everywhere all at once', hands down. i started it Mar of 2023, nearly abandoned it Sept of 2023, and completed it Aug of 2024. it's my only chronological chaptered story and was challenging bc i had to follow a linear plot rather than jumping back and forth like i do for my other stories. this took A LOT of grit and determination. i am so proud of myself for completing it.Ā
5. What work of yours got more feedback than you expected?
'even gods can't change the past'. it's about gaon and yohan falling in love while gaon is married and caring for his terminally ill child. it's a niche idea but the people who read it were moved by it and reached out to tell me so.
6. Favorite title you used.
'my heart is going back to you, i just don't know'. it's a line from the TDJ song 'The Nights' and so hauntingly beautiful that i'm thrilled to pay homage to it in one of my more complex stories.Ā
7. If you use song lyrics, which artistā€™s songs did you pull from the most?
i used 'The Nights' in three different stories: my heart goes back to you, eeaao, and eating alone eating togetherĀ
8. What work was the quickest to write?
'dreams shall come true', where yohan and gaon practice sparring and it turns heated. i wrote it in a day.Ā
9. What work took you the longest to write?
after eeaao, probably 'my heart goes back to you'. it's more layered than my other stories, so i need to be well rested and energized to write, which is a tougher state of mind to achieve. but my anon likes it and i enjoy writing for them ā™„ļøā™„ļø
10. How many WIPā€™s do you have in your docs for next year?
12! you can read about most of them here. there's a hades and persephone one too
11. Whatā€™s your longest work of the year?
eeaao at 63,393. interestingly, 'even gods can't change the past' is my second at 20,405, which is surprising because i wrote that in a few weeks whereas eeaao took 1.5 yrs
12. Whatā€™s your shortest work of the year?
'the second coming' which is 642 words. it's incomplete tho.
13. Whatā€™s your most common ā€œAdditional Tagsā€ tag?
post-canon! love making my boys happy
14. Your favorite character to write this year?
(happily) morally gray yohan
15. The character that gave you the most trouble writing this year?
gaon in the 'second coming'. he's like sunah in this au, so writing him to be familiar but also new has been challengingĀ
16. Whatā€™s one pairing you want to explore next year?
elijah and yohan. i'm trying to get better at writing young adults/youth/kids where they have full personalities but are still impressionable
17. Which work of yours have you reread the most?
'even gods can't change the past' because i like how it flows. but i generally reread my works extensively in the week after they're published to revel in the final thingĀ
18. Did you write any gifts this year?
4! eeao for Tamiwitch, 'my heart goes back to you' for anon, and 'dreams shall come true' for briwates, plus a fourth surprise coming soon!Ā
19. Did you receive any gifts this year?
no :') i love receiving them tho
20. Did you do any collaborative works this year?
ya, with this cutie @fr-wiwiw with whom i share a braincell. stay tuned for our collab fic coming soon called 'i'm lost around you under a spell, when i found you i lost myself'
21. Favorite line/passage you wrote this year?
it's a passage from ch 8 of eeaao from gaon's pov:
he suddenly remembers the night he got into that accident. how he flew off his bike and skidded the length of the tarmac until he came to rolling stop in the dirt lining the freeway, flat on his back. heā€™d staggered to his feet and pulled his hopelessly scratched helmet off, pushing the sweat-soaked hair out of his face to look up --
-- only to pause, stunned. it was nighttime outside Seoul. he could see all the stars that light pollution shrouded in the inner city. an entire sea of them, twinkling. it was magical. it was sublime. had gaon come twelve hours prior, he would've seen this landscape under sunlight. the lake would've been iridescent blue; the trees rich with autumnal oranges, yellows and reds, colors so vivid he would be able taste them. things which had made his heart beat fast and his tongue feel thick, all his smallness before the beauty of the world.
he hadn't come during the day because he'd spent the previous however many days agonizing over yohan. gaon, who loved plants partly through nurture and definitely by nature, had completely missed the leaves changing color when it was something he looked forward to every year.
staring up at the sky, breath misting in the frigid air and gradually becoming aware of the throbbing pain in his wrist and along his side, face wet and hot with tears leaking into his mouth, gaon had realized something big: he would be okay living with grief that ebbed and flowed, under a debt that grew in size rather than diminished, absent his parents and absent his lover, if it meant he got to see the sky like this. if gaon could just see the seasons change from crisp autumn to mild winter followed by new spring.
--
this was hella fun to do and i def encourage writers to have fun with it. tagging with no pressure to play and much interest in your responses: @fr-wiwiw @mid-n0vember @gayautisticraccoon @uhhhhmanda @godotismissingx @thedeviljudges @jehan-d-art @technitango @tenderlywicked @a-small-batch-of-dragons

NPC Draw n Scrawl
NPC Draw n Scrawl will be a fic/art drive for donations to NPCrawl. The base idea is that someone donates to the charity stream, then sends us proof and a request for fic/art of a UC character (via our submission box), and we make it for them! The idea is originally from @baileyondemand
The fics will generally be between 300 and 500 words, and the art will be quick sketches, which has a loose definition of sketchy lines, partial color if any, and little to no background. The writer or artist will have full creative freedom, beyond a 1-2 sentence prompt that the donator will include with their proof of donation. We intend these to be something we can be proud of and do many of in a short time period, as the uc charity streams always get many, many donations and we dont want anyone to burn out because of this.
People of all skill are encouraged to participate, and who gets which prompt will be decided by either the writer/artist or the mods of the discord.
Speaking of! We have a discord server now! It will be where we plan and do the necessary communication for this event and other like it! If you are able and willing to participate in this event, please join the discord, and if you are unable but would like to participate in future events like this one, feel free to join as well! Here is the invite link!
We will start taking proof of donations on June 8th, and if UC opens donations early we will open our submission box early, but we will hold off on claiming/assigning prompts until June 8th at minimum.
We're looking forward to creating with you~!
To prevent burnout and making anyone overwhelmed, we may limit how many requests we get and we may put the donation price higher than the original price suggested by @/baileyondemand. More information will be shared about this as we get closer to the stream date!

Hey enden! I just wanted to reach out as I know these are hard times for you. Iā€™ve been wanting to say something and give you some support, but I have never known what to say, so Iā€™m just gonna wing it.
First off, I would like to preface by saying you are an incredibly humble artist and writer. You carry great talent, yet you seem to almost expect people to not notice that. Never forget your talent, and that even something you spill out at 2am will most definitely be praised. You inspire me to create, I have been in a art and writing slump for so long. I got caught up in life and lost the love for it. Youā€™ve lit that spark in me once more and want to get me creating, and most definitely writing, in honor of you!! Thatā€™s amazing man. You have some real special talent, and the mcsm fandom alongside others are seriously so so lucky to have you.
Second, I send nothing but love and support to you and your boyfriend. I know everything will work out just as you guys need it to. If she doesnā€™t get her karma legally, she most definitely will another way. I know you guys are so strong and will pull through with flying colors!! Death of a loved one is never ever easy, and the worst always happens to the best people. Know that none of what happened is your fault, donā€™t let guilt consume you, and both of you take care of and love yourselves. You guys seriously deserve it.
Lastly, on a less dreary note, I would like to ask if you had any fan fiction prompts for Jesskas? I want to write so bad, but I cannot come up with a proper idea that is really interesting and solid, yanno? I want to write something long, that I can really pour my heart out into. So if you had any tips or story prompts, it would seriously be appreciated, and you of course would get a huge shoutout, as you would with or without helping me since you are such a huge inspiration to me.
Best of wishes Enden!!
This may be a long response, so here-
First off, I suppose you are right when you say I don't really expect people to enjoy the content I create. It's not an easy concept for me to grasp. I have a lot of trouble seeing how people can like my stuff so much, or god even say I'm their favorite mcsm artist when there's so many others out there that carry so much more skill with colors and backgrounds and such. I know I'm not supposed to compare myself to others, but it is an incredibly hard habit to end. It's why I'm so shocked when I see actual fanart of my aus, or god even my writing. I cannot go back and read me own works for the life of me because I just cringe so bad at it, so when people say it's good I really just have to trust them and believe it.
All I could ever dream to do is inspire people to create and grow with their own imagination, so hearing that my stuff has done that sort of thing for you (and others who have told me the same) it brings me so much joy, but it truly is entirely hard to believe that it's me and not someone else being the one to do that. I don't know, but I am very honored to hear this from you. It only inspires me to push myself further and I don't know. Maybe some day I can push my imposter syndrome aside and really get a firm grasp on my full potential and be proud of it.
And thank you for the love and support towards our situation... As the days go by I fear more and more that that woman will get to keep her dog and nothing will come out of this other than we just have to move past it. So I hope you're right when you say she'll get her karma some other way. I've never in my life wished something bad to happen to someone. Not like this... So if karma does catch her, let it be as devastating to her as it was to us.
Now, real life shenanigans aside, we can get to the jesskas stuff šŸ˜
For fanfic prompts, I always suggest exploring canon before getting into anything truly ambitious. If there's a certain scene in the game you'd like to further explore and add on to- do it! Like I've always wanted to write a fic that gets into a deep emotional moment between Jesse and Lukas after Jesse rescues Lukas and Petra from the Nether during episode 8 and they all enter the player dorms for the night. Just those off screen moments where you can take the characters and add more to the story is easy and fun in itself. I always like to look deep into the emotional aspect of it all, and really dive into how the characters might be feeling after a situation and how that gentle moment alone together could bring them closer. What I already mentioned being a good example because it's directly after PAMA, Jesse having to watch Lukas and Petra(or Ivor) die, and so on. There's a LOT of feelings to explore there. If that's something you'd want to try and tackle, go for it!! But if there's another scene from the game that really sticks out to you that you feel could be so much more, go for that too. It's good to start small and practice how you want to write the characters. Only reason I started a huge fic like Recovery straight away was because I'd been rping jesskas for like a year and a half already and was confident I knew how to write the characters and I wanted to do more for the little community by writing a nice big fic.
And again, it's Minecraft. There's a whole world to explore and put these two right in the middle of it. Think up certain scenarios you like and add on to it! Like if there's a certain scene you really want to do, build to it. Give the characters a goal and put obstacles in the way so you can really flesh them out on the way to that goal. What made them want to go there? How do they get there? What do they do when they get there? How do they communicate with others that might also be there? And how differently do they treat eachother compared to how they treat the others? Those are all things you really want to know ahead of time. Also pay attention to the scenery. Really look into the visuals your mind creates and do your best to get into the details about it all. There's a lot to get into with writing, and the best part about it is you're in complete control, so go crazy with your imagination, especially since it's Minecraft. It could be entirely self indulgent, or even something out of your comfort zone. No matter what it is, it's still growth and it's still progress to being a better writer. Just make sure you're having fun.
Also, thanks for taking the time to send this ask. I appreciate you šŸ©·

Arcane-Vagabond's FAQ
Hi! Welcome to my FAQ page! Here is a list of the different questions I get asked fairly frequently or things I've had to address more than once.
āœØ Can I tag you in my fics?
Did I ask to be tagged? Then no.šŸ’›
(You will be blocked if you do this anyway.)
āœØ Can I make fan art of your fics?
My brother in Christā€¦..we will have a spring wedding.
(Just let me know/tag me/give me credit)
āœØ Can I be added to your taglist?
I do not have a taglist. If you would like to be notified on when I post, follow my sideblog ( @sailoraviator-library ) and turn on post notifications. I will ignore requests asking to be put on a taglist from here on out.
āœØ Do you have a posting schedule?
Not currently, no.
āœØ Can I request something?
Yes! But please keep in mind that I might say no if I'm not interested or comfortable with the topic. Usually, I will send you over to an artist/writer who I think might be able to fulfill your request if I cannot.
āœØ You haven't answered my ask/request/questions or updated my favorite story in a while. Why?
While I try to get to requests, sometimes the writing juice just isn't plentiful for an idea. Also, I'm a grown woman with a full time job, friends, family, and other hobbies/obligations outside of this blog. I travel for work which means at any given time, I'm sitting in a hotel room after multiple hours of driving. If I have time, I try to answer everything, but I also have (as of 7.30.24) 94 requests sitting in my inbox, with some from a couple of months ago. Please be patient.
āœØ I want to write a story, but it's similar to yours. Is that okay?
Listen, my love, as long as it's not a complete ripoff of one of my stories, I really don't care what you write. You want to write about mermaids? Please do! You want to write about cursed pirates? Go ahead! The nature of AUs is that you are going to use similar tropes for the stories, and the nature of tropes is that you are going to have similarities to stories that use the same ones. There's only so many ways you can write a meet cute in a bar.
āœØ Will you promote my fic?
I try to reblog fics I come across, and promote the ones from smaller authors as much as possible. However, that does not mean my blog is a billboard for you to promote your fics on. I was once a small time author, so I know how hard it can be to get your stuff out there. Shoving your work at me is a guaranteed way to get me to NOT read it and actively ignore it in the future.
āœØ Why do you have so many WIPs (Works in Progress)? You know you probably won't finish all of those, right?
I do, and that's okay. That's the nature of writing fanfic, unfortunately. Not everything is going to get finished. You also have to understand that just because I haven't touched a story in a month or two doesn't mean it's been abandoned. The writing muses just haven't given me inspiration or motivation to write for it. I will make an announcement and take something off of my masterlist if I have decided to abandon it.
āœØ What are some thing I can do to get my writing noticed?
Tag appropriately. I cannot tell you how many people are going to scroll past your writing if you tag a character fic with the actor (for example, tagging a Jake "Hangman" Seresin fic with Glen Powell). In fact, you are more likely to get yourself blocked versus someone reading your fic. Make use of the "Read More" feature on your fics. People are more likely to block you than read your fic if they have to scroll endlessly past your fics. People will find your fics by searching the appropriate tags. Just give it time.
āœØ What are some things I should do when posting/writing?
Do NOT write real person fic. It's one thing to write about a character that doesn't exist, it's something else writing about a real life person who will suffer the consequences when people will inevitably mix reality with fiction. How would you feel if someone wrote a story about you where you did all of these things you'd never do?
Put appropriate trigger/content warnings above your fic. If you are going to write about sensitive topics, it is SO important that you warn people before they reach the story. Writing about losing a child, cancer, or sexual behavior? Tag it explicitely so people can filter it. Do not censor your warnings and do not use "angst" as a catch all. Allow people to protect themselves.
āœØ I didn't like [insert fic here].
I literally don't care. Telling me you didn't like something instead of scrolling without a hateful comment makes you a loser, actually.
āœØ Do you take non-fanfic related questions?
Yes!! I encourage them, actually! Never feel like you can't shoot me an ask that's not related to fanfic or fandom because I love chatting!! Even if you want to chat with me about fics, I'm more than happy to do so!
āœØ Who do you write for?
Mainly Top Gun Maverick at the moment, but I might write for other fandoms in the future! I wrote reader inserts, and itā€™s good to note that my reader inserts are female unless otherwise stated!
This is by no means a comprehensive list, and will be updated as I get more questions!

Q&A
The mod team have been getting a lot of question, and we thought we'd use this opportunity to share the answers, and allay some fears. Whatever you're concerned about, you are not alone!
1. What if (as an artist) our story idea is terrible and nobody wants it?
A. The mods have a collection of ways to ensure everybody gets a good match. Unless your idea is (a) actually offensive, (b) a bad faith take for a public event (say, a meme done poorly, a crack prompt that's too specific, or a private joke taken too far), or (c) something so extremely detailed and specific that you should consider commissioning rather than participating in a public event, at least one person is going to be interested in creating for you.
Even for ideas that aren't popular / main pairings / concepts, even for ideas that are a bit off the wall -- there are always going to be creators who like a bit of a challenge. Who look at things and go, HUH. NEVER THOUGHT OF THAT ONE. and proceed to YOINK it up.
2. If I have an idea that I've written in part and shared in other discord servers, or have published incomplete somewhere, and find an artwork that fits with that, can I use that pre-existing idea to write for that artwork?
A. We have a rule about anonymity in order to make it as fair as possible when we open claims, so for the writers, it's less important that their ideas be brand new. However, in the spirit of the Bang, we do consider it important that the artist you're working with feels they are getting a fresh piece of work from you, and you do need to produce 10,000 words of new, previously unshared fic. If that happens to fit in with an idea you've already been writing, that's fine, so long as your artist is happy with that.
3. Is it okay if I sign up and then have to drop if, for example, none of the prompts interest me, or as an artist I realise I can't commit the time?
A. We would ask that people signing up do so with full intent to commit and not abandon their entry, whether they are entering as an artist or a writer. We do understand that commitments can be made and then circumstances prevent someone coming through as they intended, but if you're aware now that there is a serious possibility you won't be able to provide what you're signing up for, you may be better positioned to be a back up, a beta, or a cheerleader.
In the case of a Reverse Big Bang, with the art coming first, and the ideas coming from the artists, it is extra important that participants offering art not overcommit themselves, as the artists are the first link in the chain. This said, there is also no rush to sign up right now, as sign ups for artists don't close until the 30th of this month, so you have time to try and review your workload and schedule.
For writers, if the scope of what you are prepared to write is so narrow that you think there is a real risk that you won't find anything you will be able to write for, we would ask you to consider if a public event such as this is for you.
4. How many pieces of art can I do for the idea that I submit? Can I submit more ideas?
A. You can do as many pieces of art for any one idea as you like. Presently, we are keeping the number of ideas we will allow artists to submit to two until we know how the ratios are going to stack up. The mod team will be making regular updates both on the discord and here on tumblr to let participants know how that is faring at the time of posting. If the ratios are in favour, we may allow artists to submit third ideas.
5. Can I sign up as a pinch hitter?
A. At this time, we do not have a sign up process for pinch hitters, whether they be artists or writers. However, you do not need to be a Bang participant in order to pinch hit. Right now, people who join the discord are able to assign themselves roles such as pinch hitter, beta, and cheerleader, and will receive discord pings to that role as and if those become required. This is why we encourage people to join the discord even if they're not participating in the Bang directly, as there are still ways to support and help your fellows in the fandom.
Should the need arise for pinch hitters, the mod team will also be putting the message out on this tumblr, and reaching out to anyone that signed up and said they may be prepared to pinch hit. If you are contacted there is no requirement that you agree, we would just ask you to review the ideas on offer.
6. Do I need to join the discord in order to participate?
A. No. All the information and updates that are on the discord are also shared on tumblr, it's just that on tumblr we schedule posts to hit major time zones, and on discord they're put up immediately.
7. Will you be sharing the information artists put in their applications about what they're thinking of working on, and writers put in about what they would like to see somewhere that we can see it?
A. Yes! There will be weekly updates with this in an anonymous format shared on this tumblr. We also intend to share how many writers and artists have signed up so far so that you can have an idea of how ratios are currently stacking up. Please bear in mind, however, when we share this, that none of those numbers are final, and that we are only displaying the number of confirmed works on offer, and that a number of people are provisionally offering more.
8. Where do I find all the information about the Bang, such as rules and schedules, and an up to date discord link?
A. The pinned post on this tumblr contains all of that information. We also update the discord link on there any time we are made aware that it has expired, again. The mod team have been setting this to never expire, but discord is apparently not our friend, so if you find the link has expired, notify us either via asks, a message on the bottom of the post, or a tumblr IM, and we will update it (again).

When you're working on TWW fanfic, how do you get like new inspiration or even just the motivation to keep going?
(p.s. thank you for keeping the fandom alive!!)
inspiration/ideas are something i almost never have a problem with. i come up with new scenarios for these gays almost constantly and it's everything in me to not just constantly begin new wips and crossovers and aus that have never been explored! and there's so much media to draw from with tww with all eight books, the shows, the movie, the spinoffs - idk but even like vanilla 2017 or 1998 stuff is always giving me life, maybe because i'm an insatiable multishipper with no chill and an adoration of rarepairs.
i also make sure i "read around" tww. i watch things or listen to audiobooks with a related genre or vibe, especially if i'm exploring au or want to go for a specific tone. keeping your brain active and making connections like this helps so much with inspiration and plot. it's like going on a silly little mental health walk, but instead of nature or whatever, you're opening your brain up to new possibilities. even something completely unrelated can spark something! it makes the worlds you write feel a bit richer as you're writing them.
motivation is something different, because i struggle with a lot of self-confidence in my own writing (lol, cptsd. i'm in therapy). comments on my works do really help with that. but these days people seem to feel weird about leaving comments on works that aren't like a week old??? bruh people still talk about books that are decades or centuries old. and we have some lovely people still in the fandom who are willing to read some of my work, and that is amazing to me!!
but of course, there are fics i've started that i am not sure will ever see the light of day because i feel like they're not good enough, or works that i've put up that very few people were interested in (rip to pippa university years my beloved. never escaped single digits on the kudos for 10k of fic). those embarrassments and failures hold me back so much because they confirm my own negative thoughts about my writing and make me not want to put my energy into this. i have a full plan of chapter 13 of a clock with no hands, but i keep giving myself imposter syndrome over my ability to write it well enough. idk. rationally, i know that the types of story i write are sometimes not what people want to read. i think it's important to talk about (please i am NOT fishing) because i'm sure there are many people who feel the same way. some people even look up to me as a writer?? but i cannot emphasise enough that it's a miracle that anything goes online with my mental health being how it is.
anyway, enough about me! mostly i try to think primarily of the fandom and what's best for us right now. that's why i'm running the drabble exchange, which i think will be a really fun way to get little sparks of inspiration going for everyone, as well as hopefully providing a chance for new writers to dip their toe into whatever ship they like! please sign up to join in - this is the last weekend before i close sign-ups!
i'm certainly not solely responsible for keeping the fandom alive though!!! there are some incredible artists who are doing a much better job of that than me with the recent influx of art - as well as all those who are writing new fics that are providing after the slump we had with the conclusion of the 2017 series. it was really hard to recover the fandom after s3, and i know i've had a small part to play in that with the twitter group chat evolving into reviving the discord. but i couldn't have done any of that if no one else was around to join in!
(also side note - general invitation extended to anyone who wants to join the discord!)
