1. I will always love the fight seen between Raph and Leo in 07. Just the animation for what it was, the boiling point, the tension— it was just chef’s kiss!

2. The final fight against Shredder in 2012. The boys have lost their father and even then they try to fix Shredder’s mutated state to what it was and Leo tries and nearly succeeds to appeal to his human/sane side, but in the end… Leo does what he needs to do.

3. The Leo’s fighting Shredder alone just before they go through their window (literally) and barn era. I love both 12 and 03s very much.

“Leo, stop laughing at him.” 

Leo does not stop, because every time he looks at the tiny, fluffy, angry kitten that was his twin brother two minutes ago, he like physically CAN’T handle it. He’s been laughing for those entire two minutes and he’s getting a little lightheaded. 

“Sorry, sorry,” Leo wheezes, tears streaming down his face. 

Raph pinches the bridge of his nose. “You’re not sorry.”

“I’m not sorry, look at him.” The kitten Donatello skitters backwards on the sofa and hisses at him. Leo opens his hands and makes kissy noises. “C’mere Tello-lello, don’t you want a snuggle?”

Donnie makes a swipe for his face, claws out, but Leo dances backwards with his super fast ninja reflexes. Donnie tries to scratch Leo even when he’s not a cat, so it’s pretty par for the course.

Leo spreads his hands innocently. “Come onnn.”

“Leo,” Raph says, exasperated, probably envisioning Donnie taking Leo's eye out. “You can't tease him the whole time.”

“You have no idea how long I can tease someone,” Leo says haughtily. “But for real. I promise I'm not gonna hurt you, D. Just hoping to help with some data collection.” The data being: are those tiny fluffy ears really as soft as they look? Can we get a cuteness rating on the little toe beans, a standard ten scale, please? 

Leo reaches out a hand for Donnie to sniff, which he bites immediately and mercilessly. OW. Okay. That one's fair. An acceptable sacrifice. Leo scoops the tiny kitten into his arms. Donnie meows angrily at him, high and shrill, probably scared. But Leo is an expert in Donatello and this is no sweat. 

“Look, you’re okay, D.” Leo puts his hand on Donnie’s back, the fragile, shivering thing in his arms. “I’m not gonna hurt you. Promise.” 

Donnie meows again, weaker. Leo’s not a monster. He knows it must be scary to be suddenly so small and so vulnerable. Earlier Donnie was backed into the corner, hissing, in full panic mode. 

Leo tucks Donnie under his chin and hums, trying to convey incredibly warm and soft vibes. The gushy stuff, the sort of embarrassing sappy shit he would N-E-V-E-R say out loud even with a gun to his head, the I would die for you thing and the you’re safe with me I promise thing. Maybe one time when they were eight, Donnie found Leo hiding under his bed during a thunderstorm, and he crawled in there with him and rested his head on Leo’s shoulder, a flashlight and a book with too many big words for Leo to really understand but what he did understand was that his twin was there and he was safe.

“I’ve got you,” Leo says, so softly he has plausible deniability. Donnie brushes against his chin and Leo can feel his little heartbeat slowing under the feather-soft fur. Really really quietly, he starts purring.

clumsy reader, aged up turts, blood mention, fluff!!!!! (turtletats doing fluff, what?)

Mikey’s jams were blaring over the speakers of the lair as he attempted the skateboarding lessons you had been pestering him about for months. 

You could feel the bass vibrate in your skull, beat thumping under your skin, as your friend explained *again* how to drop in..but you couldn’t be happier. Ever since you were a kid you had always wanted to learn, and Michelangelo was a patient teacher. 

Sort of. 

“No, no, no- Angelcakes..” He sighed and smiled at you, rubbing a hand over his face. “You need to shift your hips sideways, and put your weight on your back foot. Otherwise you’ll dump it.” 

You nodded at him, only partially paying attention as the lyrics to a familiar song played over the speakers, your hands air drumming along to the beat as he held you in place over the makeshift ramp. 

Mikey cocked his head at you, raising a brow ridge with a chuckle as his blue eyes sparkled in the lair lighting. “Aight, you ready to give it a shot, sweetarts?” 

A smile spread over your face as you playfully punched his shoulder, confident. 

“I got this!”

Maybe a little over confident. 

As your weight tipped the board down, you weren’t ready for the momentum and you tumbled down to the floor laughing, board skittering on the cement. 

When you stopped giggling at the fall and looked at the shadow over you, you realised it wasn’t Mikey standing there, but Raphael- who was shaking his head, arms crossed as he smirked down at you as you lay flopped on the floor. 

He reached out a large hand, pulling you up as he rolled his eyes. 

“Come here, dumbass.” You could hear the humor in his voice, even if he wasn’t laughing. “Let’s clean up yer cut.”

Your hand lifted to your cheek, where a slight sting burned on the skin. Red smeared on your finger when you looked at it again. 

Whoops.

Taking off your helmet, you tossed it to Mikey as he picked up his board from where it had stopped rolling. “Thanks for trying, Mike! Maybe we’ll hit it again tomorrow!”

Mikey smiled as you waved, and threw a knowing look to his brother as you followed him into his room. 

You heard Raph snort over his shell. 

Raph had a well-stocked med kit in his dresser from his many boxing and gym injuries, so it wasn’t out of the blue for him to offer to patch you up. 

Considering you were the clumsiest person he had ever met, and he had done this at least every other week for you, for some reason or another. 

But it felt….different today. 

As you both sat on his bed and he cleaned the cut on your cheek, you winced in his hand at a sudden pain, and his eyes shot back to yours.

“...you..ah, ya ok?”

“Oh…yeah.” His thumb brushed over your cheek as his gaze locked with yours, faces inches from each other, and you could feel the blush rising to your face. “I’m a…I’m fine.”

A slight smile crept over his face as he let his hand fall, and he reached for a box of bandaids next to him and offered it to you. 

“Which one? We got orange, or..red…?” His question hung in the air, as he looked down at the box in his hand. 

And then back up at you.

“I’ll take the red one, please.” A smirk played at your lips, soft and shy as he smiled back at you. 

His thumb brushed the bandaid over your cheek, smoothing the fabric over your skin as he looked intently at your face. 

You knew you were blushing; you couldn’t help it. 

“Ya ok, doll?” His hand cupped your face again, gold eyes staring into yours as you felt yourself lean into his touch. 

“Mhm.”

You heard the bed groan slightly under him as he shifted his weight, his large body tilting down to yours as you felt like you were sucking in all the air in the room in anticipation. 

Was he finally going to kiss you?

His lips were so close, air between you alight with tension as you felt him lean in and finally close the distance, settling his mouth over yours in a soft, gentle kiss. 

Finally. 

You sighed into his embrace as your arms slid around his neck, melting deeper into him as his lips pressed firmly against yours; the low rumble in his chest echoing of the cement walls music to your ears.

Who knew all it would take was a wipeout?

🍄 -> You ate a wild what?

Raph notices a problem when Mikey refuses dinner.

His older brother could probably count the number of times when Mikey skipped a meal on his fingers. So when Leo told him to leave it be, Raph promptly and firmly ignored him. He left their injured brother to Donnie’s care and went looking for the turtle that had slipped out of the room during the meal.

He finds him upstairs, vomiting his lungs out.

“You idiot.” He goes down to his side, putting a hand on his head. There’s no unnatural heat. He releases him so Mikey can… Release something else. “Why didn’t you say you were sick?”

“I’m not!” He whines between pants. “My stomach just hurts.”

“And you told who?”

“I’m not a baby, Raph.” He snaps to the toilet bowl. “Go take care of Leo.”

“Idiot.” Raph decides because by the look of his teary eyes and the way he’s grabbing at his chest, Mikey is miserable and he’s got to be an absolute moron if he thinks that he’ll just walk away.

Well. Fully walk away.

He does head over to the stairs to cup his face and scream, “MIKEY’S THROWING UP! MAKE SOME TEA!”

Mikey groans from the bathroom. Donnie calls back, “WHERE?”

“FIGURE IT OUT!”

“REAL HELPFUL!”

Raph heads back into the bathroom. “There. Problem solved.”

Mikey whimpers, holding his chest tighter. After a moment of deliberation, his older brother carefully dislodges him from the toilet and flushes it. Hoisting him from the floor with a low warning about barfing on his plastron, he carries him back to the room that him and Leo share. Laying him on the bed, he grabs the vomit bucket.

Mikey hugs it to his chest, inhaling through his teeth.

“I know, bud.” Raph rubs his arm. “Just breathe.”

“It hurts.” His voice warbles as the tears fall. He’s not sure if the paleness is from the fight not to throw up or the pain. “It hurts a lot.”

“Got to ride it out.” Raph assures. “Gotta-”

The door flies open. Donnie, holding a basket, shouts, “Mikey ate pokeweed berries!”

Mikey and Raph look at him. Then at each other.

The hothead crosses his arms, “Try again.”

“Did you eat these?” Donnie demands as he holds up the bucket. It makes it harder to see what’s inside, but Mikey nods meekly.

“They’re poisonous!” Donnie snaps furiously to hide the anxiety lingering below. “Mikey ate wild poisonous berries!”

“You ate wild what?”

Raph whirls on him. Mikey’s head is halfway in his shell. “…Oops?”

“Why would you do that?!”

“I didn’t know!” Mikey tries to sit up and immediately falls down again, tucking his arms around his midsection. Raph looks to the resident genius. “Is he gonna die?”

“Luckily for him, box turtle metabolisms can handle it.” Donnie huffs as he sighs in relief. “Unluckily for him, human metabolisms cannot. I doubt he’ll die. But the next few hours are gonna really suck.”

Mikey gags and then vomits. Raph pinches between his eyes.

“Maybe now he’ll learn to stop eating random things that have not been okayed as people food.” Donnie is looking directly at Raph but his words are perfectly pitched for Mikey.

The hothead turns him around and shoves him out of the room. “Go make tea.”

“I wasn’t done-!”

He slams the door in his face. After a under-breath grumble, Donnie pouts his way downstairs. Raph moves back over to the bed, takes one look at the tea-streaked face, and sighs. Grabbing the tissues from the dresser, he climbs onto the other side of the bed.

When he lays down, Mikey flips over to latch onto him. He whimpers loudly, buries his face in his plastron, and Raph grumbles, “You’re gonna be fine.”

“It hurts.”

“Yeah yeah.” Raph lifts his face to wipe away the liquid. “Nature’s way of saying to keep away from random berries.”

His lip wobbles, “I’m sorry.”

“Why are you apologizing?” Raph remarks as he lets him go. Mikey squeezes tighter, a soft keen of pain reaching open air. “Those weren’t my poisonous berries. And it sounds like you’re already dealing with the punishment.”

Another keen tugs at his heart. Raph wraps his arms around him in return, scratching at his carapace. A bit of the tension leaves. “Breathe, little brother. It’ll pass. I’ll be right here until it does.”

Mikey exhales pitifully. Raph leads him through more breaths.

They ride out the next few hours together.

Wasn’t sure which Mikey and Raph? So you get 2012. And thanks! Love a good excuse for fluff!! 🧡❤️

This is gonna be mostly 2012 related because it’s my favorite. 😅

🍩 - Favorite Episode in a Story Arc

Of what I’ve seen so far? It’s gotta be Within The Woods. Just you see how they’re coping after their city has been taken over, we get a terrifying and disgusting villain, Leo’s struggling, but dammit he will be there for his family. And of course some good funny moments.

“No, genius. What happens when two teenagers who like each other go off into the woods alone?”

“…” *sees a couple of fucked up looking squirrels* “Aahhh!!!! They get eaten by squirrels!”

“… you know what? Forget I said anything.”

(I like Mikey “We’re Not that Kind of Sub” Hamato is at a loss)

🧁 - Favorite Filler Episode

Broken Foot. Hands down. I just find it so hilarious to think about how Karai got Leo of all turtles to go and be chaotic and cause petty crime. Were they just hanging out one night and she’s like:

“Do you wanna go set fire to Shredder’s shit?”

“Absolutely”

“Perfect. Wear black if you can. Oh, and my goth, witch girlfriend will be there too.”

“Sweet”

I do feel like it could have had a better conclusion or deep talk between Leo and Donnie (Team Brainiac doesn’t get much time to talk out their feelings, sadly), but overall, I loved it.

🍰 - Favorite Dynamic Between 2 of the Turtles

Leo and Raph— in pretty much everything that I’ve watched. Their dynamic is so interesting and they usually have pretty funny banter together. Plus their damn twin telepathy that you see a lot of in 12 where they just know what the other is kind of thinking. They disagree about pretty much anything, get on each other’s last nerve, but damn are they the ones to by each other’s side through thick and thin.

🤍 - A Character/Episode that You Feel had Wasted Potential

One thing that actually bugged me about the Mutant Mayhem movie is that you never really saw Donnie tinkering with anything mechanical or science-y. His engineering and science skills are a big part of his character, and we missed a lot of that in the movie I feel. So not wasted essentially. Just never explored.
