There is a part where we play as a younger Ellie and her journal is really interesting. I didn't see anyone point this out.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We finally see what Cat (with a C!) kind of looks like!
Tumblr media
She's pretty cute! Apparently, she climbed on top of Ellie after doing a portion of her tattoo and kissed her, which freaked Ellie out because she thought Cat would turn. They watched a movie, Cat fell asleep after some time and Ellie spent the whole night watching her (looking for signs of infection but I'm convinced she would have watched her sleep anyway!).
There is another cute thing we find out:
Tumblr media
Dina is super jealous and Ellie is such an Oblivious Lesbian™. Dina absolutely had a crush on her and Ellie didn't even realise! Useless™. Both of them. Even Cat could see it. The whole town could see it! Except, of course, either of them. If that isn't the most wlw thing ever, I don't know what is. Now the obligatory "read my URL".

The Last of Us Part II is the one of the most controversial games yet, especially when it comes to the ending of the game.
Many people thought that Ellie should have killed Abby for killing Joel, and others think she made the right choice in letting her go.
Personally, I think Ellie made the right choice.
Ellie was the one to end the cycle of revenge.
In the first game Joel has killed many innocent people not just for survival but because he wanted to get back at the people who killed his only daughter Sarah. Therefor, Joel started the cycle.
Abby continued the cycle when she saw her father after Joel killed him. The rage and hatred made her kill Joel even after he saved her. She continued the cycle.
*Note: Unlike Ellie, who had to watch Joel get killed, and Joel who also had to watch Sarah die in his arms. Abby didn’t have to witness that with her own eyes*
Ellie didn’t kill Abby though. While she was holding Abby’s head under the water Ellie had a flashback of Joel and stopped, telling her to get Lev and leave. Ellie knew that this isn’t what Joel would’ve wanted her to do, and when she let Abby live she ended what Joel started.
Yes, I agree that leaving her family to go hunt the person that killed the most important person to her just to not kill her was wrong and she was stupid in making that decision.
This is my opinion

The Last of Us Part II is a very divisive game but I loved it. The hate pointed at Abby isn’t entirely justified. I actually felt that Ellie was in the wrong...

The Last of Us Part 2 Thoughts
Spoilers ahead, duh.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I, like many, have had a wild week trying to comprehend TLOUP2. After reading many articles/think pieces and having multiple discussions with my partner and friends, I feel like I’ve finally gathered my thoughts; specifically about the hate the game has been receiving.
I think that one of the biggest things that Anti TLOUP2 players are not realizing, is that this game is not asking you to forgive Abby or the Fireflies. That’s not the point.
The story is asking you to understand we live in a complicated world, with complicated people that make complicated decisions. It's asking you to realize that humans are capable of being both good and real shitty at the same time because life is a whole lot of more complicated than "Good vs Evil". You're going to find different heroes and villains in every story but who falls under what category depends on who you ask and what perspective you look through.
Those that are mad about Ellie’s story containing half of her antagonist’s perspective are just mad that they couldn’t go on a gory, killing spree without consequences and were forced to think about who they might be affecting.  As my partner- who is an Army Veteran- put it, it’s easy to pull the trigger when you don’t have to know that the person on the other side of the gun has a name, friends and family they love and interests and hobbies they enjoy. When you play as Abby and have to fight Ellie, it's intimidating. You're realizing first-hand, if you hadn't already, that Ellie is a scary motherfucker. Her and Joel were absolutely the villains in Abby’s eyes. Is Abby a "cinnamon roll baybee that can do no wrong”? No. She makes her fair share of shitty decisions that affect Ellie, Dina, Maria, Tommy, Issac, Nora, Owen and Mel (to name a few). BUT how many others did Ellie affect in this same way going on her murder spree? The answer is too many.
Do I adore Ellie and Joel? Absolutely, (I played Part 1 countless times and it never gets old). Did I believe they were doing the best they could given their circumstances? Yes and No. Do I feel that Abby was justified in her actions? Yes and No. Do I forgive Abby for killing Joel? I don’t. Did Ellie forgive Abby or should she? I have no fucking clue. That is something the creators were trying to express, that forgiveness is tricky and difficult and always evolving.
We can debate until our tongues fall out deciding who was in the right or wrong: The Fireflies almost killing Ellie, Joel killing the Fireflies, Ellie killing the Wolves, Abby killing Joel and the Seraphites. In the end, everyone is wrong no matter how you try to spin it. Are you mad that Ellie didn’t kill Abby? You shouldn’t be. Murder isn’t a joyous thing to celebrate no matter what “side” you’re on. People that defend Abby’s murder spree are wrong and people that defend Ellie’s murder spree are wrong. The same goes for everyone else in the game.
I’m glad that Naughty Dog made Part 2 like this. It’s difficult, complicated, visceral and there is no right or wrong answer- hey, just like real life! No one in this story has the best morals, no one is this story is completely right or wrong in their decision making (except for the murder part, imo). Revenge and forgiveness are infinitely more complex than the black and white we want them to be. The creators wanted to reflect on human behavior and the complexities that lie within our individual motives and morals, and they did a stellar job doing that.
