December 16th is the feast day of The Listening Lady— the biggest holiday for the little blue bitches of the Wasteland. Something weird about becoming a god is that people stop giving you things on your birthday and start giving things to one another?? Ok. (She doesn't mind. She's selfless like that.)

If you know me, you know I'm always squirreling away little evocative/beautiful/inspirational/weird phrases in my notes for use at a later date. The large quote in the green frame is one of them that I've been saving for years. I believe it was from a facebook post of some unknown mom-type, probably on a video of a stray dog. I'm very happy to finally have found its home.

Taking it back to an Old WIP that actually got me to write this weekend!

Niles glanced out the window into the courtyard, noticing someone jogging from the stables, raincape a flutter as they hurried through the downpour. Their head tipped up, holding the lining of their hood, and it was Makita waving up at him. “Scheiße,” Niles muttered before picking up his pace. He’d only just passed the foyer when he heard the side door open and clatter, wet boots rushing in. Hurried and heavy steps echoed up the stairs. A pause and a squeak of soles before, “Ulrich!” There wasn’t really a need to stop and wait for Makita as his height made it easy for him to catch up. His sprint brought the smell of pine and rain with him. “You’re back early,” could have been a welcome, as much energy as Niles could spare. “I hurried back because I knew you’d miss me,” Makita laughed, a little out of breath, walking beside him with his cape pushed back as to not get Niles’ coat wet.

"What else do you like." The girl reiterated.

“Things you’d think are weird.”

She lightly rolled her eyes, shaking her head in playful disapproval. “Like what?”

He felt that weird feeling again, like he was nervous. Thomas didn’t quite know what to say, it was as if he was drawing a blank; forgetting everything he knew about himself. “I don’t know, just weird things.”

Y/N sighed and flicked his wrist, which inadvertently made him stop fiddling to pull his hand away, grumbling something about how it hurt. She tugged herself up off his shoulder and mirrored the way he was sitting; sitting on the bed with her back against the wall. “Does that mean I’m weird?”

Keep in mind yall that they’re literally 8 and still in the wckd facility and don’t know they like each other yet (they don’t even really know it themselves either)
