Rain World, Classical Planets, Celestial Spheres, (more!) Gnosticism, and the Deep Pink pearl
Tumblr media
Sorry for the absolute mess of a title, but seeming as I've already covered all of these topics in previous posts, I figured I could go a bit further into the concepts. If you haven't read the others I'd suggest looking at them to understand the base I'll be building upon here. The ones best suited for that are probably:
and
With that being said, lets get started with Planets and their etymology.
The word planet derives from the Greek word Ļ€Ī»Ī±Ī½Ī®Ļ„Ī±Ī¹ (planįø—tai), which itself is derivative of Ļ€Ī»Ī±Ī½Ī¬Ļ‰ (planĆ”Å,) which means, "to wander." It referred to the 7 classical planets, which included the Sun and Moon, along with the 5 visible to the naked eye, namely, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn. They "wander" because they move in an irregular pattern against the backdrop of fixed stars, so they themselves were seen as "wandering stars", something to keep in mind later.
It's also good to note that this is why the planets are named after Roman gods, a practice subsumed from the Greeks which was even further borrowed from the Babylonians, of course each putting their own pantheon in the other one's place, (with exceptions to Neptune, Uranus, and Pluto, who were discovered and thus named much later by astronomers in Europe who used both Latin and Greek gods for naming.)
Now with the etymology done, we can look at the roots it has in Gnosticism. The Ogdoad is a concept which simply means a group of 8, and is reflected in Gnostic cosmology and creation myth. Gnostic cosmology as understood today (generally! as of course belief and interpretation varied within the religion) is separated into 7 planetary spheres ruled over by the 7 archons, along with an 8th, "supercelestial" sphere of fixed stars. In the earliest forms of Gnosticism this was the final layer, but again it's important to stress that belief on the higher layers especially varied greatly, with some systems having as many as 365 heavens. In this context the word, hebdomad, meaning a group of 7, refers to the 7 planetary spheres and Ogdoad refers to the 7 plus an 8th sphere of fixed stars.
As for actually relating this to Rain World, it once again comes back to Guardians and Void Worms.
The glyphs on the Guardian halos differ from the rest of the written language we see in game as they represent numerals, (I believe this is confirmed through internal code, but if you're (reasonably) not in favor of using code as evidence I still believe it can be inferred through the surrounding context.) They show 7 logograms from 0-6, along with an eighth symbol.
Tumblr media
Here's a chart which I unfortunately don't know the creator of.
Tumblr media
I've already covered the relation between the Demiurge and Void Worms previously, (see the posts) but It's important to note that I'm not drawing any definitive conclusion here, part of why being I don't have one. Rain World does not strictly adhere to any one concept or religion, and we can only infer what they wanted to convey with the things they did use. It's also a piece of subjective, moody art and so evocative use of outside concepts such as this may only be a tool for interpretation.
With that being said, I believe it may be more fitting to view Void Worms not as a "collective Demiurge" so to speak, but rather as collective Archons. (Noting that Archons traditionally are not represented similarly to the Demiurge, as they're frequently depicted more anthropomorphically and in a way that bears more resemblance to the general cultural view of Demons.) This is for two reasons:
The pearl describing "moving stars" and the correlated dream we have likewise. Indicating the "wandering stars" and subsequently the planetary spheres.
Oh, interesting. This is a diary entry of a pre-Iterator era laborer during the construction of the subterranean transit system south of here. In it they describe restless nights filled with disturbing dreams, where millions glowing stars move menacingly in the distance.
Tumblr media
And the Deep Pink pearl in Farm Arrays, of which I'll give an excerpt of.
"On regards of the (by spiritual splendor eternally graced) people of the Congregation of Never Dwindling Righteousness, we Wish to congratulate (o so thankfully) this Facility on its Loyal and Relished services, and to Offer our Hopes and Aspirations that the Fruitful and Mutually Satisfactory Cooperation may continue, for as long as the Stars stay fixed on their Celestial Spheres and/or the Cooperation continues to be Fruitful and Mutually Satisfactory."
I believe the stars (Void Worms) that "move" (wander), described above may be equivalent to the classical view of planets, and therefore the planetary spheres and the Archons that rule over them. The Benefactors viewed them as "disturbing" and "menacing", in stark contrast to fixed stars within their celestial spheres being seen as a good omen. A contrast seen at the highest and lowest points in the game;
Above, we see perfectly still stars.
Tumblr media
Below, a raging inferno of wandering stars, "Planets".

The Kerubim, ā€œThe Strong Onesā€
An ā€œAngelā€ (Greek angelos or ā€œmessengerā€) is considered to be a heavenly spirit, a messenger or intermediary between God or the gods and humankind. All religions possess one inherent commonalityā€“the relationship of human beings with the Spiritual realm. In ancient Greek religion, Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, this relationship is thought to involve angelsā€“divine messengers sent to humans to instruct, inform or command. An angel can function also as a protective guardian, as a heavenly warrior, and even as a cosmic power. Moreover, the line between a good angel and a bad angel, or demon, is sometimes unclear.
Therefore, angels can be broadly described as personified powers meditating between the Divine and the human. Even in its devotion to monotheism, ancient Israel was able to embrace the image of a council of gods by turning all of them into angels that serve the One God. This acceptance of a belief in angels was a development made relatively easy because lesser gods and angels could be referred to as ā€œsons of God.ā€ Later development in both Judaism and Christianity shows a remarkable growth of angelic folklore as a result of continuing this ancient practice of absorbing the gods of polytheistic religions by turning them into angels.
After the period of Israelā€™s Babylonian exile (597-538 BCE), Jewish thought about angels was considerably altered and enriched. Drawing on Mesopotamian art, artists and writers began to provide wings, even for the anthropomorphic angels, and an interest developed in angelsā€™ garments, names, and relative ranks. In addition to the Mesopotamian influence, the Persian dualistic tradition of Zoroastrianism added another dimension to the Jewish conception of angels by positing hostile and destructive angels who are rebellious against God. The Jewish Qumran sect, or Essenes, saw the world as a battleground, the scene of the struggle between the Spirit of Truth and the Spirit of Wickedness, the latter an angelic power opposed to God called Belial or more commonly, the ā€œDevil.ā€
In Judaic Angelology, there are nine classes of Angels: the Seraphim, Kerubim, Thrones, Dominations, Powers, Virtues, Principalities, Archangels and Angels. According to Henry Cornelius Agrippa, in his Three Books of Occult Philosophy, aspects of the Elements can be attributed to the natures of these orders of Angels as follows: Fire to the Seraphim, Authorities and Powers; Water to Thrones and Archangels, Air to the Dominations and Principalities, and Earth to the Kerubim. Placed in superior hierarchy are the supercelestial angels, who, mediating the pattern of Divine Will, are: the Thrones as the Wisdom of God; the Seraphim as the Goodness of God, and the Kerubim as the Essence and Form of God. As stated by Agrippa, from the Angelic Orders humankind is strengthened with extraordinary attributes.
ā€œFrom the Angels, Mankind perceives messages of Divine Will and a clearer comprehension of the Mind of God. From the Archangels, humanity obtains rulership over beasts of the field, fish of the sea and fowl of the air.ā€
From the Principalities, all things are overcome, engendering a comprehension of the ascendancy of all things, and drawing spiritual power to oneself by a secret and divine force. From the Virtues come the power and strength against enemies of Truth. From the Powers, the ability to conquer these enemies within ourselves. From the Dominations, subjugation of these adversaries. From the Thrones we are woven together and collected into ourselves with remembrance fixed on Eternal Visions. From the Seraphim we acquire the perfect flame of Love, and from the Kerubim comesthe light of mind, the power of wisdom, and the exalted images by which we contemplate the Divine.
As stated in Three Books of Occult Philosophy, the Hebrew theologians numbered and called these orders as follows: in the supreme province, are the Chayoth ha Qodesh, or Creatures of Sanctity, to which EHEIEH gave the gift of life. In the second place are the Auphanim, Forms or Wheels, whereby YHVH differentiated the chaos. In the third place are the Aralim, great, strong and mighty angels, by which YHVH joined with Heh (HHYVH) to provide form to the liquid matter. In the fourth place are the Chasmalim by which AL framed the image of bodies. In the fifth order are the Seraphim by which ELOHIM GIBOR drew forth the elements. The sixth are the Malachim which ELOAH produced metals. In the seventh sphere are the Elohim or Gods, by which YHVH TZABAOTH produced vegetation. In the eighth reside the Beni Elohim, Sons of Gods, by which ELOHIM TZABAOTH produced animals. The ninth and lowest sphere contains the Kerubim by which SHADDI EL CHAI created Mankind.
The above has been a short introduction into the realm of Angels. The subject of the Kerubim alone could involve voluminous amounts of information as there are many different classes and functions of the Kerubimā€“they are not simply limited to the Sephirah of Yesod. The Elements have their analogies at every level, and these attributions can be applied to every Sephirah, but particularly the central Sephiroth on the Middle Pillar. The Kerubic forces of Kether descend the central Column from Kether to Malkuth. This is indicated by the Kerubic signs about the corners of the Tarot Trump XXI, The Universe. Malkuth is the sphere of the Elements and Yesod is its foundation, which, being on the Second Plane, is the sphere of contact with Natural Forces. Tiphareth is the Sephirah from which the Elements are controlled, the Sephirah of the Elemental Kings (Elementals which have begun to respond to Spiritual vibrations).
The Seraphim (derived from the word ā€œSeraphā€ meaning ā€œburnā€) are another class of angels considered to be an upper octave of the Kerubim. Their function is to burn false doctrine and convert man back to righteousness. It is said that they pass on information drawn from the Neschamah during sleep, to the Creator in Atziluth, for the Seraphim are the Holy of Holies, or the Highest Heaven in Briah.
The focus of this paper, however, covers only those Kerubim which include Gabriel, the Angelic Choir of the Kerubim of Yesod, the Archangels of the Elements, and the Right and Left-Hand Kerubs, Metatron and Sandalphon.
Gabriel
Gabrielā€™s name comes from the same Hebrew root as Geburah (GBR) indicating a relationship between the 5th and 9th Sephiroth. Gabriel serves a triple function, Annunciator, Guardian and Guide. Gabriel is the divine messenger who relays information between the Divine and humanity and bestows the gifts of vision, hearing and psychic abilities as well as the powers of life, procreation and equilibration. This angel is referred to as Gabriel Yesodel (Archangel of Yesod) and as Gabriel Kerubiel (leader of the Kerubim).
As an angel of high eminence in Jewish, Christian and Muslim tradition, Gabriel is one of the four most often noted in Judaism and Christianity, the others being Michael, Raphael and Uriel. Gabriel is the heavenly messenger who appears in order to reveal Godā€™s will. In the Old Testament, Gabriel interprets the prophetā€™s vision of the ram and the he-goat (Daniel 8:15-26) and explains the prediction of the 70 weeks of years (490 years) for the duration of the exile from Jerusalem (Daniel 9:21-27). In the New Testament, Gabriel announces to Zacharias the birth of his son, John, who is destined to become known as John the Baptist (Luke 1:11-20), and in Luke 1:26-31 reveals to Mary that she is to be the mother of Christ. Among Muslims, Gabriel is believed to be the spirit who revealed the secret writings to the Prophet Mohammed. As the Annunciator, Gabriel is most likely to speak to us through dreams.
Gabriel means ā€œStrong one of Godā€ or ā€œStrength of God.ā€ As seen by the position of Yesod on the Tree of the human psyche, the name is not without reason. From the position on the central Pillar of Consciousness on the Tree, Gabriel is the firm and stable foundation of the Spirit. As Yesod in the World of Briah, it is the ego consciousness of Briah, and the Sephirah occupied by Gabriel is a crucial one. It is the last stage before the aspirant reaches the Kether of incarnation, or the Tiphareth of Briah, for beyond lies the threshold between Raphael in Hod and Haniel in Netzach. At this point, he is still Man but may be referred to as ā€œHero of Godā€ under the guidance of Gabriel. To pass, the initiate must rise up the Tzedek Path of Righteousness where the shadow side of the personality is destroyed, and all remnants of being as a separate entity are dissolved. Only then can one attain Tiphareth in Briah and come under the direct influence of Archangel Michael, or ā€œOne Who Is Like Unto God.ā€
The Kerubim
The Kerubim can be conceived of as a reflection of the Four Holy Living Creatures of Kether, the powers of the Eternal Elements. The duty of the Chayoth ha-Qodesh is to formulate the primary pattern upon which the rest of existence is built. These Kerubic forces descend the Middle Pillar to Yesod where the Kerubim, as the structural powers of the Universe, support this existence. Therefore, the Kerubim are the formative powers of the Elements stationed in the sphere of Yesod, the etheric substructure that supports the physical universe. As these etheric powers, the Kerubim are the formative forces of the world and humankind. As Angels of Lunar Yesod, the Kerubim also have an association with time, the four Kerubic points in the year which are the Hermetic Qabalahā€™s cross quarter days. Their name means ā€œthe Strong Onesā€ which is derived from the Akkadian word Karibu which means ā€œone who praysā€ or ā€œone who intercedes.ā€
The work of the Kerubim is to influence communication between the inner and outer worlds by serving as Guardians, Heralds, Equilibrators and Guides. They work on the building of knowledge and the harnessing of force in etheric or Yesodic methods. One of these methods is the use of symbols relating to Yesodic perception within the depths of the unconscious mind. With the progression of time, these symbols become less ritualistic and more psychic, becoming tools in the hands of the aspirant. These images are the contents of the Treasure House of Images, and the forces behind these images are the Angels of Yesod.
The Tetradic Kerubim are the animated powers of YHVH working through the fixed signs of the Zodiac. As given in Exodus 25:18-19 and 37:9, their shapes represent the aspects of the four dynamics of the Elements. These energies are not the Elements themselves, but rather are placed between the Angels and the Elements in hierarchy. One of the functions of the Kerubim is to take these energies and set them into motion and as such,, this Choir of Angels has a direct affect on the Earth and Man. As presidents of the Elemental Forces, these Four Kerubim are each assigned one of the letters of the Divine Name YHVH, and they operate in and through the four astral Elements in Yesod before these Elements are formulated in the physical world of Malkuth.
This Tetrad serves as Equilibrators by creating a stable nucleus from which the physical world comes forth into being. These four Vice-Gerants of the Elements, under the Presidency of Spirit (Gabriel), are synthesized in the formula of YHSHVH. Yod, Lion, Nequaquam Vacuum, Nowhere a Void; He, Eagle, Libertas Evangelii, Liberty of the Gospel; Vau, Man, Dei Intacta Gloria, Unsullied Glory of God; and Heh (f), Ox, Legis Jugum, Yoke of the law; and in the midst of the four letters is Shin, the letter of Spirit, which, formed from the Tetragrammaton, gives the Divine name of Yeheshua, The Pentagram represents the concentrated force of the Spirit and the four Elements governed by the five letters of the Name of the Restorer, YHSHVH and is not only attributed to the planet Mars, but also shows the Kerubim and the Wheel of Spirit. The Kerubim of Ezekiel have four faces, those of the Lion, the Bull, the Man and the Eagle, alternating with each other by rotation. Beside them was the symbolic form of the Spirit, symbolized by the wheel. As suggested by the two wings that covered their bodies and the two wings that stretched upwards to each other, the synthesis of the Kerubim is found in the revolving Cross, in the Pentagram, and in the idea Spirit dominating the four Elements.
The Kerubim are winged celestial beings which, unlike most conceptions of angels as anthropomorphic, are zoomorphic. On the 32nd Path between Malkuth and Yesod, the Zelator encounters these Four Kerubim who perform elemental purifications which aid in the alchemical transformation of the aspirant. In this ritual, the aspirant learns that the Elemental Spirits are invoked through the power and governance of the Kerubim and their Zodiacal symbols. They are given Hebrew names but their appearance is primarily Egyptian:
Adam (Hebrew for Man), Kerub of Air, stationed in the East, human-headed Aquarius. ā€œThe Priest with the Mask of Osiris spake and said, ā€˜Thou canst not pass the Gate of the Eastern Heaven unless thou canst tell me my nameā€™.ā€ of which is replied ā€œThou art NUT, Goddess of the Firmament of Air. Thou art HORMAKU, Lord of the Eastern Sun.ā€
Aryeh (Hebrew for Lion), Kerub of Fire, stationed in the South, Lion-headed Leo. ā€œThe Priest with the mask of the Lion spake and said, ā€˜Thou canst not pass the Gate of the Southern Heaven unless thou canst tell me my nameā€™.ā€ Of which is replied, ā€œThou art MAU the Lion, Very Powerful Lord of Fire. Thou art RA, the Sun in his strength.ā€
Nesher (Hebrew meaning Eagle), Kerub of Water, stationed in the West, Eagle-headed Scorpio. ā€œThe Priest with the mask of the Eagle spake and said, ā€œThou canst not pass the Gate of the Western Heaven unless thou canst tell me my nameā€™.ā€ of which is replied ā€œHEKA, Mistress of HESUR, Ruler of Water, is Thy name. Thou art TOUM, the Setting Sun.ā€
Shor (Hebrew meaning Bull), Kerub of Earth, stationed in the North, Bull-headed Taurus. ā€œThe Priest with the mask of the Ox spake and said ā€˜Thou canst not pass the Gate of the Northern Heaven unless thou canst tell me my nameā€™.ā€ of which is responded, ā€œSATEM, in the abode of SHU, the Bull of Earth, is Thy name. Thou art KEPHRA, the Sun at Night.ā€
The arrangement of the Theoricus Hall of only four officers suggests the conciliatory Element of Air reconciling the opposing energies within the Hall, resulting in a perfect balance of forces. The number four is associated with Chesed, the first Sephirah to manifest below the Abyss, but it also refers to Yesod as the firm foundation within which the Four Elements are given etheric form which then later materialize in Malkuth during the course of the Lightning Flash.
In the Theoricus Ritual, as the Hierophant addresses the candidate on the meaning of the Cross within the Triangle, it is stated that the Cross, placed upon the Altar at the base of the Tree of Life, refers to the Four Rivers of Paradise. It is Gabriel who rules the ā€œLiving Water streams that well from out the Highest Throne.ā€ ā€œā€¦And he showed me a pure river of the water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.ā€ (Revelations 22:1). These Rivers are referred to in Genesis 2:10-14: ā€œAnd a River, Nahar, went forth out of Eden to water the Garden, and from thence it was parted and come into four heads. And the name of the First River is Pison, it is that which compasseth the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold. And the gold of that land is good. There is Bdellium and the Onyx stone. [ā€“Leo.] And the name of the Second River is Gihom, the same as that which compasseth the whole land of Ethiopia. [ā€“Scorpio.] And the Name of the Third River is Hiddekel, that is it which goeth forth to the East of Assyria. [ā€“Aquarius.] And the Fourth River is Euphrates. [ā€“Taurus.]ā€ This indicates the Presidency of Spirit (Gabriel) over the four Elements.
In the Zelator Ritual the aspirant is told. ā€œAnd Tetragrammaton placed Kerubim at the East of the Garden of Eden and a Flaming Sword which turned every way to keep the Path of the Tree of Life, for He has created Nature that Man, being cast out of Eden, may not fall into the Void. He has bound Man with the Stars, as with a chain. He allures him with scattered fragments of the Divine Body in bird and beast and flower, and He laments over him in the Wind and the Sea and in the Birds. When the times are ended, He will call the Kerubim from the East of the Garden, and all shall be consumed and become Infinite and Holy.ā€ ā€¦. ā€œThis drawing of the Flaming Sword of the Kerubim is a representation of the Guardians of the Gates of Eden.
As the Qabalah teaches, the everlasting abode of the Higher Self is in the Eden of Paradise, the supernal sanctuary which is forever guarded from chaos by the Flaming Sword of the Kerubim whirling across borders of the Abyss. After the descent from Grace, the Kerubim were stationed at the Abyss to separate the Supernals from the effects of the Fall.
The Four Kerubim, through their assignation to the four Archangels, are Four of the Seven in the Presence of the Lord. This description of the Kerubim is from Johnā€™s vision (Revelations 4:7-8): ā€œAnd the first beast was like a lion, and the second beast like a calf and the third beast had a face as a man, and the fourth beast was like a flying eagle. And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night saying, ā€˜Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, is and is to come.ā€™ ā€ Here, the Kerubim are seen as single-headed but having six wings, thus uniting the powers of the number seven (the Planets) with the number four (the Elements).
The Invisible Stations of the Hall of the Golden Dawn
The Stations of the Man, the Lion, the Bull and the Eagle are the Four Cardinal Points without the Hall and these are the invisible Guardians of the boundaries of the Temple. They are placed according to the Four Winds and are stationed beyond the thrones of Hierophant, Dadouchos, Hiereus and Stolistes.
The Kerub of Air, behind the throne of Hierophant, is the power of the Goddess Hathor who unites the powers of Isis and Nephthys. The sign of Aquarius, the zodiacal sign of Air, is the Water-Bearer, the container of Rain. The Egyptian name for the Sign of Aquarius is Phritithi.
The Kerub of Fire, face and form of a lion, with large, flapping wings, is behind the throne of Dadouchos, and is the power of the Goddess Tharpesh or Tharpheshest. The action of the Lion Kerub is through the Flaming Fire of Leo with the Egyptian name of Labo-Ae.
The Kerub of Water, which has the face and form of a great Eagle with large, glinting wings, is behind the throne of Hiereus. It is the power of the God Thoomoo, and his operation is through the Sign of Scorpio, which is called in Egyptian Szlae-Ee (in Egyptological works the name of this god is Tum or Tmu).
The Kerub of Earth has the face and form of a Bull with heavy, dark wings and is situated behind the throne of the Stolistes. It is the power of the God, Ahaphshi, operating by the Sign of Taurus and its Egyptian name is Ta-Aur.
Sphynx, the Synthesis of the Kerubim
The Sphynx is a synthetic of the Kerubic figures. In the Ritual of the 32nd Path leading into the Theoricus Grade, it is written, ā€œThe Sphynx of Egypt spake and said, ā€˜I am the synthesis of the Elemental Forces. I am also the symbol of Man. I am Life. I am Death. I am the Child of the Night of Time.ā€™ ā€ As stated in Regardieā€™s Golden Dawn: ā€œNow learn the mystery of the Wisdom of Egypt: ā€˜When the Sphynx (synthesis of the Kerubim) and the Pyramid (synthesis of the Elements) are united, thou hast the formulae of the magic of nature. These are the keys of the wisdom of all Time; and its beginningā€“who knoweth it? In their keeping are the sacred mysteries and the knowledge of Magic and all the Gods.ā€
According to Levi in Transcendental Magic: ā€œYou are called to be the king of air, water, earth and fire, but to reign over these four living creatures of symbols, it is necessary to conquer and enchain them. He who aspires to be a sage and to know the Great Enigma of Nature must be their heir and despoiler of the Sphynx, his the human head, in order to possess speech; his the eagleā€™s wings in order to scale the height; his the bullā€™s flanks in order to furrow the depth; his the lionā€™s talons, to make a way on the right and the left, before and behind.ā€
The Kerub, or Symbolic Bull, which Moses placed at the gate of the edenic world bearing a fiery sword, was a Sphynx which had a bullā€™s body and a human head. It is the Assyrian Sphynx, symbolic of the combat and victory of Mithras. This armed Sphynx represents the Law of Mystery who watches at the door of initiation to warn away the profane.
The Mosaic Kerub also represents a great mystery in which the elements are expressed by the number seven, without, however, giving the final word. This word is what the Qabalists write as YHVH and interpret by Aleph Resh Aleph Resh Yod Tau Aleph, expressing the triplicity of the secondary principle, the alliance between the triad and the tetrad, in a word composed of four letters, which form seven by means of a triple and double repetition. This word is pronounced ā€œArarita.ā€
The universal key of all magical operations is that of the ancient religious doctrines, and it is the key to the Qabalah, the Bible, and the Lesser Key of Solomon. With this key, we are able to understand the enigmas of every Sphynx and penetrate the Mysteriesā€“and the key is this: (1) a hieroglyphic and numerical alphabet, expressing by characters and numbers, a series of universal and absolute ideas, (2) a scale of ten numbers, multiplied by four symbols and connected with twelve figures representing the twelve signs of the zodiac and (3) the four angels of the cardinal points.
The symbolic tetrad, represented in the Mysteries of Memphis and Thebes by the four forms of the Sphynx, i.e. the man, eagle, lion and bull, correspond to the four elements. Now these four signs, with all their analogies, explain the one word hidden in all the Mysteries. It is the name of the four primal letters of the Ineffable Name: YOD, symbol of the paternal scepter of Noah; HE, the cup of libations and also symbolic of maternity; and VAU which emerges from and joins the two. This is the triple sign of the triad in the Divine Word; but the mother-letter, HE appears a second time, to express the fertility and abundance of Nature and of woman to concisely express the doctrine of universal and progressive correspondences, which descends from cause to effect and ascends from effect to cause. Moreover, this sacred word is not pronounced, it is spelled, and expressed in four letters which are the four sacred words, Yod He Vau He.
Metatron and Sandalphon
One of the most common appearances of the Kerubim is the great dyad of Metatron and Sandalphon. These two holy Kerubim are the Sentinels of the Briatic Mother Temple of Light. Metatron is the Great Masculine Kerub, corresponding to the White Pillar of Yakhim, and Sandalphon is the Great Feminine Kerub, corresponding to the Black Pillar of Boaz. These Two Pillars, positioned on the right and left sides of the Tree, are symbolic of the concepts of Active and Passive, Male and Female, Adam and Eve and refer to the Pillars of Fire and Cloud which guided the Israelites in the wilderness. In the Theoricus Ritual, the hot and moist natures are further marked by the Red Lamp and the Cup of Water. These Two Kerubim are the Angels of the Devir, the Holy of Holies of the Hebrew Tabernacle and Temple. In this Temple, one inunense pair of Kerubic Images spread their wings from wall to wall and a smaller pair stood at the two ends of the Ark itself. Between them was the Kaporeth, the Presence of Yahweh.
Eheieh denotes breath and the sound that every being pronounces all its existence, and it is the Name of the Lord of Life. By the inspiration and expiration of Eheieh through the two Great Pillars (Macroprosopus is Aima and Abba, Mother and Father), all things are thrown into vibration. As Guardians over Malkuth, Metatron and Sandalphon are the Two Pillars, but the work of these Dyadic Kerubim is not solely relegated to the role of Guardians. They function also as Equilibrators, balancing opposites and defining the center, the place of balanced power. As Equilibrators, these Two Kerubim are closely related to the Egyptian Godforms of Isis and Nephthys. Nephesch ha-Messiah (also called ā€œKerubimā€) is the animal soul of Messiah, or the Shekinah, and is the Presence between these two Kerubim. The Shekinah represents Aima Elohim, the Supernal Sephiroth as a synthetic unity of the Divine White Brilliance. Since this is spoken of as between the Kerubim, it is the Middle Pillar of the Tree and as such, is the Path of the Redeemer.
The vibrations of the Briatic World of Kether are shown through the influence of the mighty Archangel Metatron, the Great Angel of the Presence and the World Prince. Also called the ā€œKing of Angels,ā€ Metatron was the guiding angel that led the children of Israel through the wilderness. Metatron, alone, sees the Face of God. He presides over the Tree of Life in its entirety and is considered the Right-hand Masculine Kerub of the Ark. It is said that Metatron communicated the Qabalah to humankind, and as stated in the Abodah Zarah of the Talmud, he is the ā€œteacher of the prematurely dead children of Paradise.ā€ He is known as the Metatron Ketheriel and is also called IOEL ā€“ ā€œI am God.ā€ Metatron functions as the link between God and Man, and the vibration of this Archangelā€™s name will generate a yearning to return to God or the pure state of Kether. Therefore, he is the guide or source of aspiration in attaining the higher levels of the self and by vibrating his name, we draw down that part of him to aid us in this effort.
The effect of the Briatic World of Malkuth is through the Archangel Sandalphon. She is also the Left-hand Kerub of the Ark of the Covenant. Translated from the Greek ā€œSandalfonā€ which means ā€œCo-Brother,ā€ Sandalphon is considered the twin of Metatron or another form of this Archangel. Another translation of the name is ā€œLord of the Extent of Heightā€ and because of this remarkable height, she is said to be able to reach her twin in Kether, which points to the idea that Malkuth is Ketherā€“but after a different manner. As the Archangel of Malkuth, Sandalphon reconciles the material energies which are brought forth into the physical world. She is also said to convey the power and beauty of the natural world to the Souls of humanity and influences worldly affairs in general by creating the building blocks and designs for each civilization.
On the Microcosmic Tree of Life, Malkuth of Briah is the equivalent to the self of Man. The archangel Sandalphon watches over the Kether (the most spiritual essence) of the physical body and the Tiphareth (the consciousness) of the psychologically unawakened individual. When initiates begin to evolve, Sandalphon guards them as the Neschamah grows, always keeping consciousness on the Middle Path. As the Neschamah becomes stronger, an image of the Briatic World, the realm of Spirit, begins to form. Slowly a foundation is formed on the lower portion of the Briatic Tree, and the initiate begins to perceive and comprehend the images of this World, as is demonstrated by the Chariot and Throne of the vision of Ezekiel. It is here that the creation of a purified consciousness is originated, and with this fusion of consciousness comes the development of an awareness in the Ruach triad. When the crystallization is complete, when it is stable within, it is no longer a passing flash or a gift, but a permanent foundation.
Conclusion
The word ā€œKerubimā€ might be better understood as a matter of function, rather than as a title, indicating the working together of groups, or polarities, i.e. dyads, tetrads, enneads, etc. Viewing the Tree as functioning simultaneously, the Elements originate in Kether through the Fylfot or the Spiralā€“ā€œGod breathes.ā€ Chokmah is the pure, inexhaustible force of this ā€œbreath,,ā€ and Binah is its vehicle of definition. These two Sephiroth originate the channel whereby the Kerubic forces descend the Middle Pillar, and the Side Pillars maintain this passageway through which they move. These Elemental forces are drawn forth across the Abyss by Geburah, working in conjunction with Chesed which equilibrates them, and it is these two Sephiroth which bring these forces through to individualized potential. They are then manifested as the heart of self through Tiphareth which rules and controls them. Netzach and Hod duplicate the efforts of Chokmah and Binah and of Geburah and Chesed in the lower personality of the self; and it is in Yesod, or the ego consciousness, that these Kerubic forces are structured. Malkuth is the manifestation of these elements within the physical body, the grounding of the circuit. The function of the Kerubim seems to be in guarding the gate of this action.

Correspondences 101

Introduction
Welcome back to another lesson! Today, we're diving head first into the world of correspondences. What exactly are they? Why do we use them? We're going to discuss that and more in this lesson! Let's get to it.
What Are Correspondences?
In essence, correspondences are objects or aspects of objects that represent symbolism in direct correlation with a specific energy. Practically anything and everything has the potential to be a correspondence, therefore correspondences are subject to change depending upon the individual practitioner. Some of you may find yourself attributing certain emotions with colors - this itself is an example of a correspondence. Everything has its own energy, and using the energy that is in direct relation to your spellworking allows for that energy to be amplified and released into your work.
As Antoine Faivre (a French Occultist) states in his book Access to Western Esotericism:
"Symbolic and real correspondences (there is no room for abstractions here!) are said to exist among all parts of the universe, both seen and unseen....These correspondences, considered more or less veiled at first sight, are, therefore, intended to be read and deciphered....The principles of noncontradiction and excluded middle of linear causality are replaced here by those of the included middle and synchronicity. We can distinguish two kinds of correspondences. First, those that exist in nature, seen and unseen, e.g. between the seven metals and the seven planets, between the planets and parts of the human body or character (or of society). This is the basis of astrology - correspondence between the natural world and the invisible departments of the celestial and supercelestial world, etc. Next there are correspondences between nature (the cosmos) or even history, and revealed texts. Here we find the Kabbalah, whether Jewish or Christian, and varieties of 'physica sacra'....Ultimately the world stage is a linguistic phenomena."
Or as Pierre Riffard (a French philosopher) states in his book Dictionnaire de L'ƩsotƩrisme:
"The doctrine of analogy and correspondence, present in all esoteric schools of thinking, upholds that the Whole is One and that its different levels (realms, worlds) are equivalent systems, whose parts are in strict correspondence. So much so that a part in a realm symbolically reflects and interacts with the corresponding part in another realm. For instance, the Sun in the mineral realm is the counterpart of the Lion in the animal realm. The relation between A and B is similar to the relation between C and D. The microcosm and macrocosm are analogous, that is, equivalent, similar in their structures, even though they are outwardly dissimilar. The parts are in strict correspondence, closely knit together and closely interacting: thus feet/pisces, veins/rivers."
This is exactly why you use specific herbs, go for specific timing or moon phases, use certain colored candles, and much more.
Why Do We Use Them?
When raising our energy and directing our energy towards our goal, it's very useful to have elements that align with that as a means to amplify the energy. It takes less energy on the practitioner's end, as the natural energy of the objects being utilized is aligned with the energy needed in the work. A lot of it has to do with association, as that's a natural way for our mind's to process information. If you're doing a spell or ritual that is about healing, and you include a solar symbol or something orange, your mind may focus on a different energy rather than healing, which would interfere with the energy of your working.
It's important to make sure all correspondences are considered with your personal associations of things as a means to help you raise and direct energy.
Can I Make My Own Correspondences?
As stated above, the energies connected to particular items are known as correspondences, and they can be employed to increase the power and efficacy of your spell while also giving additional energy. These energies are influenced by a variety of elements, such as nature, colors, history, and culinary and medicinal applications. You would probably find at least one or two lists of correspondences for frequently used items in any book on witchcraft, especially for herbs and crystals. While the majority of correspondence lists are excellent, there are occasionally those that contain ambiguous correspondences, thus it is crucial to investigate any correspondences you are unsure about. Even if I wholeheartedly endorse the usage of these lists, especially for novice practitioners, how can we do away with them, particularly those in which we are unsure about the source of the information?
Look At Practical Uses
Examining the object's beneficial uses is the simplest method to get started writing your own correspondences. How do you utilize the item on a daily basis? What role does it play in the home? Take the broom, for instance. The broom's primary use is to sweep up dirt and debris from the house. Brooms can therefore be used to tidy up an area. Is the plant you're looking at utilized for cooking? What flavor does it have? What flavor does it add to the food? Is it able to glue the elements together, thicken, or color them? What is it used for if it has therapeutic uses? Does it relieve pain, calm rashes, improve focus, promote sleep, or treat infections?
Cayenne peppers, for instance, are hot and add long-lasting heat to the dish. They can also be used medicinally to reduce pain, increase metabolism, and hasten digestion. Based on these real-world applications, cayenne can be used to speed up a spell for a long time, eliminate rivals, or ignite your romantic life. We can begin to deduce some of their elemental correspondences from these practical applications. The cayenne pepper, which is hot and red, is related to the element Fire, whereas the broom, which is sturdy and purifying, is related to the element Earth.
Historical Uses
Once you have examined an item's practical applications, you might explore its history. Most things we use every day, especially those found in nature, are covered in folklore. To start figuring out other correspondences for an object, I advise consulting mythology, urban legends, medical books, and other historical documents. It takes time and needs critical thought to determine correspondences, but the effort is definitely worth it.
Scientific Nature
Next, start examining the object's scientific nature. The easiest way to do this is to use natural objects like plants, rocks, fungi, animals, insects, and other living and nonliving things that are present in your local environment. Where is the item often located? What features or qualities distinguish it from other things? What function does it serve in the ecosystem? Does it exhibit any distinctive behaviors? Take the flavor of mint. Almost all mint species develop swiftly and prolifically. If you don't watch them, your entire yard will be taken over. They are associated with abundance, prosperity, and fertility because of their prodigious nature. Some of these scientific correspondences are simple to infer, while others require some additional research.
Your Intuition
When determining an object's correspondences, the first three ways use logic; your intuition uses your psychology and emotions. Intuition is one of a witch's strongest weapons, although our contemporary culture frequently downplays its accuracy and trustworthiness. Start by wrapping your consciousness around the item in meditation before using your intuition to find correspondences. What does your intuition have to say about the thing? What comes to mind when you think of the thing you're looking at? Personal correspondence frequently starts in this area. At least for you, your personal connection to an object and the correspondences you create by employing your intuition have incredible power.
Consult With Spirit
Finally, you can speak with the object's spirit to learn more about its correspondences. The concept of animism holds that all things, both living and nonliving, have a spirit that we can interact with and form relationships with. This is easier said than done, and before attempting this kind of communication, you must be able to distinguish between your own intuition and mental chatter. It's normal for some witches, especially novice witches, to struggle with this correspondence determination process. This is an excellent chance for you to develop your spiritual gifts. Start by grounding and meditating with the object in issue, just like you would when using your intuition to determine correspondences. However, leave yourself open rather than putting your mind into the thing.
Keep the general mental chatter at bay and concentrate on the work at hand. Set out with the goal of listening rather than speaking. Depending on the object, you might hear it speak loud and clear in full sentences, or you might only see a flash of color or experience an emotion. But the secret is to approach this situation with no expectations. The item may not speak to you at all because you are not entitled to a dialogue with it. However, by building a relationship with the object beforehand, you can increase the possibility that it will communicate to you. Offer it gifts, communicate with it, take care of it, etc. Do essentially everything you would to make a new friend.
You will gain a strong understanding of how to employ the object in your own magical practice after combining these five techniques. Additionally, it will improve your magical practice overall and reinforce your bond with the object, enhancing its effectiveness as a component of your spells. The object will be considerably more likely to help you if you can communicate with its spirit.

In matters that are obscure and far beyond our vision, even in such as we may find treated in Holy Scripture, different Interpretations are sometimes possible without prejudice to the faith we have received. In such a case, we should not rush in headlong and so firmly take our stand on one side that, if further progress in the search of truth justly undermines this position, we too fall with it. That would be to battle not for the teaching of Holy Scripture but for our own, wishing its teaching to conform to ours, whereas we ought to wish ours to conform to that of Sacred Scripture.
Let us suppose that in explaining the words, ā€œAnd God said, ā€˜Let there be light,ā€™ and light was made,ā€ (Gn 1, 3), one man thinks that it was material light that was made, and another that it was spiritual. As to the actual existence of ā€œspiritual lightā€ in a spiritual creature, our faith leaves no doubt; as to the existence of material light, celestial or supercelestial, even existing before the heavens, a light which could have been followed by night, there will be nothing in such a supposition contrary to the faith until un-erring truth gives the lie to it. And if that should happen, this teaching was never in Holy Scripture but was an opinion proposed by man in his ignorance.
Usually, even a non-Christian knows something about the earth, the heavens, and the other elements of the world, about the motion and orbit of the stars and even their size and relative positions, about the predictable eclipses of the sun and moon, the cycles of the years and the seasons, about the kinds of animals, shrubs, stones, and so forth, and this knowledge he holds to as being certain from reason and experience. Now, it is a disgraceful and dangerous thing for an infidel to hear a Christian, presumably giving the meaning of Holy Scripture, talking nonsense on these topics; and we should take all means to prevent such an embarrassing situation, in which people show up vast ignorance in a Christian and laugh it to scorn. The shame is not so much that an ignorant individual is derided, but that people outside the household of faith think our sacred writers held such opinions, and, to the great loss of those for whose salvation we toil, the writers of our Scripture are criticized and rejected as unlearned men. If they find a Christian mistaken in a field which they themselves know well and hear him maintaining his foolish opinions about our books, how are they going to believe those books in matters concerning the resurrection of the dead, the hope of eternal life, and the kingdom of heaven, when they think their pages are full of falsehoods on facts which they themselves have learnt from experience and the light of reason?

Paul in Marcion's Apostolikon seems more mystical and gnostic. It reminds me of the Gospel of Truth by Valentinus, such as the passage below from Paul's letter to the Laodiceans (later on renamed Ephesians). This is from, The First New Testament - Marcionā€™s Scriptural Canon, Jason David BeDuhn, POLEBRIDGE PRESS. "He made known to us] the initiation about his will, according to the pleasing thought that he strategized [in himself] 10 for implementation of the completion of the opportune times, to sum up everything in the Christos, the things in the celestial spheres and on the earth . . . 12 that we should exist for the praise of glory, we who have previously hoped in the Christos, 13 in whom you also, when you heard the true teachingā€”the proclamationā€”and when you trusted in it, you were sealed by the sacred spirit of his promise. . . . "17 . . . May the Father of glory give you a spirit of wisdom [and revelation by experience of him], 18 when the eyes of your heart have been illuminated, [that you may know what is the hope to which he called you, what are the glorious] riches of his inheritance among the sacred ones, 19 [and what is the superlative] greatness of his power [for we who trust . . . 20 with] which he has operated in the Christos when he awakened him from the dead and seated him at his right hand [among the supercelestials."

Genshin Thought Dump Chapter 1- The Traveler Exposed:
Yā€™all are so obsessed with the upcoming Sumeru region and juicy Harbinger and Khaenriā€™ah lore (donā€™t get me wrong, Iā€™m SUPER stoked too, I be aroace and squishing with aesthetic attraction on Columbina and ā€œSir Pantiesā€ Pantalone~) but are we all gonna ignore the fact that the Traveler is WAY too suspicious for everyone to be simply overlooking right now?
I knew really nothing about them beyond the fact that I decided to slap autism and mild depression and anxiety on Aether and Lumine, and the headcanon I made that Aether was secretly a numbers and statistics nerd/enthusiast and HATED when people didnā€™t depict data or draw graphs correctly in a way that was understandable (kinda self-projecting here, modern AU heā€™d be one of the smartest software programming interns/students, please donā€™t kill me Genshin community /hj).
There are MANY posts theorizing about the full lore of Genshin, and many posts predicting that even AFTER the game is finished, there will still be a shit ton of hidden lore that weā€™ve yet to decipher and piece together because HoYoverse devs are just like that, yā€™know? Making everything a painstaking and yet fun and engaging mystery to solve so we can feel like the Sherlock of Gacha Fantasy RPGs.
Thereā€™s people theorizing that Kaeya is of royal Khaenriā€™ah blood and is descended from the Eclipse Dynasty that ruled the kingdom at the time of its downfall, thereā€™s people saying that Paimon is the Unknown God (personal objection there, I think Paimon IS a god/otherworldly/supercelestial being but not the god that sealed the twinsā€™s powers, captured Lumine and yeeted Aether to a beach in Mondstadt 500 years after the Cataclysm and the world basically ā€˜resettingā€™ itself, more on my theory compiled from many, many, MANY sources about Paimonā€™s true identity for a later post) and then thereā€™s people asking about whatā€™s TRULY at the foot of Decarabianā€™s Tower and why we canā€™t explore it (which is an incredibly valid and good question, why canā€™t we?)
But honestly, spoiler alert- the Traveler is NOT who they seem to beā€¦ nor are the twins, for that matter. Think Iā€™m wrong, and want to show me evidence of the fact that the main character is ā€˜weak as hellā€™ by showing me how they got clapped by Baal and Scara-douche?
Well, in the opening scene in the beta version, it EXPLICITLY states that both Travelerā€™s powers were sealed away and that Aether was cast down by the Sustainer of Heavenly Principles, placed into a torturous slumber for 500 years before he woke up after the Cataclysm.Ā
I will repeat that: The traveler we see ingame is in a weakened and diminished state. They are LITERALLY, simply put, interdimensional UNIVERSE AND TIMELINE HOPPING aliens with swords and wings, and they are the personification of stars- CELESTIAL BODIES.Ā
Oh, and might I add that their wings look VERY similar to the Primordial Oneā€™s wings on the Sal Vingandyr mural? They bear resemblance to the literal PROGENITOR GOD of Teyvat.Ā
The Primordial One is to Teyvat what Sothis is to Fodlan- a nigh-omnipotent and almighty progenitor and creator god. Do you REALLY think that the Traveler is THAT weak and insignificant with their FORCIBLY SEALED power that they harbor within? Yeah, I donā€™t think so.
Another detail on the Travelerā€™s outfit is that both Aether and Lumine have accents on their outfit that glow, and that glow changes color based on what element we wield- turquoise for anemo, gold/amber for geo, and a violet purple for electro. However, in the opening cutscene, what do we see?Ā
A white glow on the accents.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
White, the color most associated with purity, divinity and ascension to a higher state of being, as well as the heavens. White- the color of all the ROYGBIV colors on the spectrum combined with one another before being filtered through a prism- and what else bears resemblance to the colors of split prismic light that combine to form the Travelerā€™s white glowing light on their accents?Ā
Anemo, Geo, Electro, Dendro, Hydro, Pyro, Cryo.
The colors of the emblem of the seven elements of Teyvat.
Look, hey, listen: I KNOW you think Iā€™m crazy. I can hear your screaming at me through the screen right now, but just PLEASE bear with me. You think the big-brain moment compiled from several theorists AND my own findings end here?
Keep reading. Iā€™m going to blow up your fucking brains. And this is only Part 1.
Letā€™s jump from the topic of the traveler to the Hypostasis boss in Genshin. Seems random at first, right? Yes- at first these rubix-cube looking asses donā€™t have that much meaning to the game besides dropping ascension materials and the pyro one being annoying as fuck without a hydro character to diminish its shields quickly (*chuckles in Tartaglia haver*).
However, if you paid any attention in the beginning to the NAMES of the bosses because you were curious like I was, youā€™ll notice that they all have specific codenames assigned to them.
Those arenā€™t any ordinary codenames, though. If you look closely, youā€™ll notice a pattern.
Theyā€™re in Hebrew. The wiki literally stated it and proceeded to blow up my tiny brain- Iā€™m not joking.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The codenames are the letters of the Hebrew alphabet, which instantly give it religious connotations because Hebrew is said to be the holy language and scripture of the Hebrew Bible, or in more historically accurate terms endowed with the appropriately distributed nomenclature, the Tanakh- the first five books compiled to compose The Old Testament of the Bible.
The first letter of the Hebrew alphabet is Aleph, a codename given to the Electro Hypostasis by HoYoverse.
Beth, the second letter, is given as a codename to the Anemo Hypostasis, followed by Gimel for the Geo Hypostasis, Daleth for the Cryo Hypostasis, He for the Hydro Hypostasis, and so on and so forth.
Then along comes the fucking Pyro Hypostasis, codenamed Ayin. The 16th letter in the Hebrew Alphabet.
ā€œWhy, Starry?ā€ I hear you asking. ā€œWhy did the writers at HoYoverse straight up jump the line from 5 to 16?ā€
The truth isā€¦ I donā€™t truly know, either. Current evidence points to such a decision being a completely randomized and arbitrary preferential decision on HoYoverseā€™s part- maybe they thought that the name merely sounded more suitable for a hellfire rubix cube? Or it could be representative of the legend of Prometheus and his flame from all the way back in Greek Mythology?
This big-brain redditor explains it WAY better than I do- check out this post if you wish for more context and symbolism on the names of the Hypostases, even though with context on the meaning of the letters/codenames the decision still comes across as still a tad arbitrary and uncalled forā€¦ at least to me: https://www.reddit.com/r/Genshin_Lore/comments/pcsk6r/hypostasis_theory/
With that out of the way, why do I bring up letters of the Hebrew Alphabet, much less them being the codenames of the Hypostases? Well, we all know that itā€™s common knowledge that the archons of Genshin are actually named after the demons of the Ars Goetia, a tome on demonology compiled in the seventeenth century discussing demons affiliated with all Monotheistic religions of Abrahamic origin (Morax being Zhongliā€™s goetic title, Barbatos being Ventiā€™s goetic title, Beelzebul being Eiā€™s goetic title and Baal being Makotoā€™s goetic title, et cetera- Iā€™ve a high suspicion that Mobius is going to be the Dendro Archon Kusanaliā€™s goetic title).
And you know how the theory exists that slimes are representative of the abilities of the original seven archons (the tHICC shields of both Zhongli and the geo slime, the ability of both Venti and the anemo slime to float and propel themselves into the air, the existence of TWO types of electro slimes since the position of Electro Archon was held by the twin gods Makoto and Ei up until Makotoā€™s death during the Cataclysm/Fall of Khaenriā€™ah, etc etc).
And you ALSO know that in the Adventurerā€™s Handbook provided to us it states that both slimes and hypostases are pure elemental lifeforms/entities?
I think the connection between slime and archon also applies to hypostasis and archon, and that the connection between the two go WAY deeper than we think. There are actually TWO parallels that define this theory: the parallels within the Ars Goetia and the Tanakh itself, and the ingame connections subtly displayed within the narrative of the archons and the design choices of the hypostases.
In the actual game, if you look at the model for a hypostasis, you will notice something very odd (and slightly terrifying in my opinion) about the anemo, geo and electro hypostases: they all have cracks within them, as well as bits and pieces floating around them: as if they are being eroded at. Erosionā€¦ hm, where have we heard this before?Ā
When Zhongli talks about it and how his friends literally went mad because of it, and in the scenes where Ei states that she actively takes desperate measures to avoid erosion and stave off its effects for as long as possible. Hell, SCARAMOUCHE THE BALLADEER HIMSELF is a product of her efforts, as well as the Raiden Shogun puppet body, tying in to reinforce Eiā€™s divine ideal of eternity.
Since Venti and Zhongli are the oldest archons, and Ei is the same generation because she is twin sisters with Makoto, they are all undergoing the process of erosion, whereas the dendro, pyro, hydro and cryo archons are replacing the original seven and are therefore relatively young (save for the cryo archon because she witnessed the Cataclysm and is DEEPLY traumatized for it) and therefore, their hypostases are left undamaged and clean.
If you want to prove me wrong by saying how the hypostases had NO significant role in the story unlike the archons, Iā€™ll tell you that the juicier lore hides in plain sight in the sidequests. For example, why is there a dead ā€˜twinā€™ electro rubix cube in a region of Inazuma near the damaged/tainted roots of the Sacred Sakura? And why is it so representative of Makotoā€™s death during the Cataclysm 500 years ago?
Well, wow, phooey. Thatā€™s TOTALLY not too coincidental to be a coincidence at ALL!
Speaking of which, where did the inspiration for a hypostasis even come from? The creators actually stated themselves that the inspiration for both the attacks and designs of a hypostasis came heavily from Ramiel from Neon Genesis Evangelion, who looks VERY similar to the diamond shape of the exposed core of a hypostasis, might I add?
Ramiel is also literally an angel. And it is there that there are already SO many red flags.
Couple that with how in the version of the Ars Goetia by Thomas Rudd, it is a grimoire on both angelology AND demonology. The Lesser Key of Solomon in this edition pairs the 72 goetic demons up with the 72 angels of Shem HaMephorash. Oh, and with the fact that if you look at a Hypostasisā€™s attacks, they have the SAME sigils in some attacks at angels and demons in the Ars Goetia have.
ā€œWhatā€™s the point of explaining all of this uselessly trivial compiled knowledge to us, Starry?ā€ I hear you questioning me ever so inquisitively and ever so curiously, firmly doubtful and skeptical, eager for me to simply get to the point.
The Hypostases could be, whether it be literally or symbolically, the ā€˜angelā€™ counterparts to the goetic demons- the gods, the Seven Archons, of Genshin.Ā
Already that explains their significant connection of all the traits that Iā€™ve listed previously- and it is because of those snippets of evidence TOO deliberate to ignore that I am a FIRM believer in the slime and archon connection theory, AND the hypostasis to archon connection theory. They coexist akin to two sides of the same coin- opposite but not separate by any means.
But wait- thatā€™s not all. Ohohoho, no no no, my friends: I have more.
Remember my previous analogy of the description of how prismic light can be filtered back into white light by merging the different wavelengths, alternatively spectrums, back together again? And remember how in the opening cutscene, we see a WHITE glow on the accents of Lumineā€™s and Aetherā€™s outfits that literally change colors based on what elements they possess ingame?
Once again- coincidence? I think not, and color me calling you a skeptic if you think otherwise because we already know by this point that HoYoverse never does coincidences. The theme of ā€˜combiningā€™ items or symbols of great power or significance is a constant theme throughout this theory.
Going back to the real life parallel- when the 72 names of the angels are combined with one another, it becomes a 72 letter-long name serving as the ā€œtrue and explicit name of Godā€, which is what Shem HaMephorash and the Tetragrammaton is a version of. According to the gods and demonology wiki, if those who are pure and worthy enough to speak the true name of God do so, they gain access to nigh-omnipotence and become an immortal, godlike being with dominion over all aspects of existence itself. Yā€™know, like the Triforce, except with the judgment of the Sorting Hat ā€œas it doth requireā€.
I think you know where Iā€™m going by now with the Genshin equivalent of ā€˜saying the true name of Godā€™: what if the Harbingers are trying to collect all the Gnoses of the archons so they can form the ultimate artifact of power to challenge and take down Celestia? The Gnoses are not the symbol of an archonā€™s/godā€™s raw power, rather they and Visions themselves are gifts bestowed upon mortals and archons by Celestia- which is already megasusā„¢ in and of itself and is probably best reserved to be discussed in a future theory of its own. If the Fatui have discerned that the only way to topple the Second Throne of The Heavens that usurped The Primordial One, forged the lie to alter history and cast The Primordial One down from the heavens after defeating it, both that and the conclusion would make a helluva lot of sense- at least to me.
What greater enemy can exist to Celestia than its own power turned against it by mortals- human beings? Retribution upon The Second Who Came, from its own divine essence, by the progeny of The Primordial One themselves?
Oh, and going back once again to the white light prism analogy connected to the seven elements, when the Traveler still possesses a white light on the accents of their clothes, they wield a foreign element NOT of Teyvat- a cosmic, holy or divine element, if you will, symbolized by a color oft representing purity and divinity: white.
Speaking of which, you know what the legend of the twins remind me of besides their Greek counterparts? Thatā€™s right if you guessed correctly: Adam and Eve.Ā
The FIRST two children of God.
Aether and Lumine are directly related to The Primordial One, the progenitor of Teyvat and its universe. My personal interpretation is speculation and my imagination running wild from here: I believe Aether and Lumine could be the direct children of The Primordial One, and therefore, as they are divine beings hailing from The First Throne of the Heavens, Celestia (The Second Who Came) feared their power so much that the Sustainer had to seal their powers away and separate the twins instead of outright killing them- implying they are hilariously incapable of doing the latter no matter the effort.
And here, to those that still donā€™t believe me I present to you the final nail in the coffin: what is the Travelerā€™s ascension gem at their final ascension phase? Brilliant Diamond. And what does the Brilliant Diamond resemble?Ā
A PRIMOGEM. RESEMBLING A STAR- DIRECTLY TIED INTO ONE OF THE MANY SYMBOLS OF KHAENRIā€™AH, THE ANCIENT CIVILIZATIONS OF TEYVAT AND THE FIRST WHO CAME.
Too sus to be just a mere coincidence, if you ask me.

Then Wisdom called to me, ā€œO go and see what I have compounded and prepared a Banquet-Feast, whereto thy Father will come down with his dear Son thy Elder Brother, and I thy Mother, and will hereof take and feed, so that the Fountain of Jacob may be thy Blessing, which the Eternal Father accordingly pronounced, saying, ā€˜From the Upper and Supercelestial Planets let thy Eternal Nativity again renew, as from its own Originality; by which the lower Constellations and Elements shall to these subjected be and bow; as a Globe upon which thy Feet shall stand; and both the upper and nether Springs command. Giulio Camillo and His Theatre of Memory Ā ā€œThe Theatre rises in seven grades or steps, which are divided by seven gangways representing the seven planets. The student of it is to be as it were a spectator before whom are placed the seven measures of the world ā€˜in spettaculoā€™, or in a theatre. And since in ancient theatres the most distinguished persons sat in the lowest seats, so in this Theatre the greatest and most important things will be in the lowest place. That there would be no room for an audience to sit between these enormous and lavishly decorated gangway gates does not matter. For in Camilloā€™s Theatre the normal function of the theatre is reversed. There is no audience sitting in the seats watching a play on the stage. The solitary ā€˜spectatorā€™ of the Theatre stands where the stage would be and looks towards the auditorium, gazing at the images on the seven times seven gates on the seven rising grades.
Looking at our plan, we can see that the whole system of the Theatre rests basically upon seven pillars, the seven pillars of Solomonā€™s House of Wisdom. Solomon in the ninth chapter of Proverbs says that wisdom has built herself a house and has founded it on seven pillars. By these columns, signifying most stable eternity, we are to understand the seven Sephiroth of the supercelestial world, which are the seven measures of the fabric of the celestial and inferior worlds, in which are contained the Ideas of all things both in the celestial and in the inferior worlds. Camillo is speaking of the three worlds of the Cabalists, as Pico della Mirandola had expounded them; the supercelestial world of the Sephiroth or divine emanations; the middle celestial world of the stars; the subcelestial or elemental world. The same ā€˜measuresā€™ run through all three worlds though their manifestations are different in each. As Sephiroth in the supercelestial world they are here equated with the Platonic ideas. Camillo is basing his memory system on first causes, on the Sephiroth, on the Ideas; these are to be the ā€˜eternal placesā€™ of his memory.
ā€¦his memory building is to represent the order of eternal truth; in it the universe will be remembered through organic association of all its parts with their underlying eternal order.ā€

So itā€™s been a looong time since Iā€™ve read Augustineā€™s Confessions, but apparently he calls angels ā€œsupercelestial peoplesā€ and somehow that feels sufficiently spooky and weird in a way that ā€œangelsā€ doesnā€™t
