Mantel Display, June 2014

I have been updating the mantel doll display since I figured out how to make a rainbow for Pride Month.

Here are the color close ups:

Red (Life) these mushrooms say, "You can't kill me in any way that matters..."

Orange (Healing)

I wish I had more orange, and I wish for more healing in the world.

Yellow (Sunlight)

Many people don't realize that "You Are My Sunshine" is a song about longing and fear of your love being known, as well as that love being taken away. We are starting to love in the sunlight, so don't miss a chance to tell your loved one(s) how dear they are to you!

Green (Nature)

I just added some more green to the center of the display! What could be more natural than genuine connections with other people, and living as one's own authentic self!

Blue (Serenity) and Turquoise (Magic)

My Technicolor Faun display has plenty of Turquoise which makes sense. They're Magical!

Violet (Spirit)

Raise each other's spirits! My Violet section was very desaturated so I swapped out some outfits.

And since the Magic Mixies Pixlings were a point of inspiration for the display, vibrant purples are far more appropriate!

Using Up All My Sewing Scraps Saga Part One

Here is what I have made so far while trying to clear out my fabric scraps! Two sting ray plushies (I used the patterns from @tj-crochets) and two nap time sets with matching bunnies who have their own blankies!

I've been updating my Fauny display on the mantel.

Pattern and fabric has been selected for the Free Reign mini quilt @tj-crochets has commissioned me for. Free Reign means I can make whatever I want, however I want, within a limited size range. The only thing requested was minimal brown and no pastel.

Here's the pattern and fabric I chose for it:

I have a collection of three quarter yards, a half yard, and an additional yard not part of the collection.

Some adjustments might be made, but I'm still a little undecided on adding a very thin slice of black between each block. The intensity of the colors with the black will create a stained glass appearance and increase the size. Plus an additional border or two.

What do y'all think?

I'll begin work after I finish sewing the rag quilt giveaway prize, so probably another three or four days. Keep an eye on this post for WIP pics!
