It's a quiet Sunday morning.

Derek is doing some light reading, and Titch is slowly but surely learning how to show his affection.

He still feels awkward doing this kind of gestures, but it feels right. And Derek is ever so patient and encouraging. Life is good.

What's your secret for making so many gifs? I don't know if I'm just slow or my computer is but it can take me up to a whole day to just make one set XD. My secret? Ohhhh now that'll be telling..okay I'll tell you!

First: a cat that's determined to wake me at 5 am helps because he just can't wait a couple of hours! Nope, he seems to think 5 am is a suitable time to use my head as a diving board to wake me up for his milk, slice of ham and food only to then request to go out!

Second: imgflip is a brilliant application that works pretty smoothly (I've only broken it twice 🤣) it helps clean up my gifs and sort out lighting etc.

Third: coffee, my life is coffee...and Whump cookies but still coffee helps sooooo much.

Fourth: I plan out my gifs, find the clips I want (never do a full episode if you can help it, for some reason the system works slower) to gif, and pile them up, today I'm up to ten gifs sets in my drafts, that's joining the other 8 🙈

It's just determination really, I get a few days to make them (with no distractions) so I kinda reserve a day to just gif.

Like today..it's pouring down outside, a weekend, my daughter is Minecraft-ing her cat world (don't ask 🤣) so I'm free to chill out, drink coffee and gif away as dinner cooks and the damn cat sleeps.

As for my total sets err last year I posted over 460 gifs.

This year I'm not so sure about the numbers, one set a day since 2023 started so..80ish so far? Wonder if I'll get to 365 🤣 good aim I think 🤔

Im so happy with how Titch came out, I think I'm starting to get a hold on how to draw his face ! (Finally !)

Also I don't know why, but I headcanon Derek to be from a sort of "old money" family. He cut ties with them because they were ✨assholes✨, and he's now living his best life in the country side (So much potential for family traumas :) )

My thoughts (i.e. headcanons) on names in The Unrelenting Aubergine, since this still seems to be a point of contention:

Titch’s actual name is Terrence. James started calling him Titch when they were kids and it just kinda stuck, to the point where it’s weird if someone calls him by his actual name

Derek’s last name is Gangles.

I’m just saying, if we’re taking Margery’s comment and Titch’s response as evidence that Lukes character is called Titch (and he is, I’m sorry - the Patreon podcast has confirmed this) then Derek must be Gangles. They must both suffer the indignity of being named after their heights.

Here's a ditch headcanon that I can't get out of my head: as a farmer, Titch is insanely strong despite his appearance. Derek once joked about Titch bridal carrying him, and he just silently got up, wrapped his arms around Derek's body, and just carried him around for like a solid 5 minutes.
