amanda and clarissa are sitting on opposite sides of one of the tables at the pizzeria and there's a stained glass saint on the wall behind them who amanda could swear is looking down on her with a bit of a frown and she has only recently realised she's in love with clarissa so all the confusion and guilt she feels about it is still a heavy weight in her chest but clarissa is upset and needs some comfort so amanda reaches out and puts her shaking hand over clarissa's and clarissa absent-mindedly intertwines their fingers like it's nothing to be afraid of and when sunlight shines through the stained glass it leaves rainbow patches all over their joint hands and everything feels a little lighter for a moment
