Background:

Kiran is the daughter of archaelogists Vijay and Rani. Together they live in Delhi, India, but due to the work of her parents, she accompanies them around the world in search of artifacts and archaeological sites, such as Australia, Brazil, China, etc. During “The Great Britain Archaeological Conference” in London, she met Cassie Sandsmark, making friends with her instantly. Together, they faced off against Lady Zand -ruler of Zandia- who was trying to steal some of the artifacts in the sample at the Conference.

Later, Kiran is in Mohenjo-Daro, Pakistan, alongside her archeologist parents and fellow archeologist Helena Sandsmark, mother of Cassie. While some of the other researchers have fled the dig site after recent discoveries, the foursome carried on. During the night, Vijay and Rani investigate the site when they suddenly go missing, prompting Kiran to begin searching for them.

The Teen Titans are called in by Helena Sandsmark to helpt them find Kiran’s parents. The team encounters Indian demon Tataka and it is assumed that the demon has a role in the disappearance of Kiran’s parents.After defeating the demon and rescuing her parents with the help of the Titans, Kiran decides to join them.

Fun Facts:

• Kiran was the last recruit of the Titans before the reboot. • Kiran also possesses a tattoo on her right wrist, which glows whenever        she uses her abilities. • She is fluent in Hindi, Punjabi, and English  • In total, Kiran appears in 10 numbers of the Teen Titans pre-New 52

Background:

Rose Wilson is the daughter of Slade Wilson AKA Deathstroke and Lillian Worth. She was kept a secret from her father until her mid-teens. When Slade learned of her, he had already lost two sons and didn’t find himself fit to be her father so he left her in the care of the Titans. During a training session, Rose was badly injured and taken to a hospital. There her powers first began to emerge when she had a lengthy vision of Deathstroke’s future.

After leaving the Titans, Slade captured Rose and made her his apprentice, under the alias of Ravager. There he began injecting Rose with the same serum that gave him his abilities. However, the serum caused her to fall into psychosis, a mental disorder that causes a detachment from reality. Despite this, Slade still had doubts about Rose being a good apprentice. So, to prove her loyalty to her father, Rose gouged her own eye out.

Later, after Rose was defeated by Cassandra Cain, Nightwing began to train her and taught her about being a hero. Through Dick Grayson, Rose learned that Slade betrayed her by putting kryptonite in her missing eye, which would slowly kill her. Enraged, Rose broke her ties with Slade and disappeared for a long time.

One year after Infinity Crisis, Tim Drake allowed Rose to join the Teen Titans as a favor to Dick. There she was no longer under the serum’s influence.

Her latest appearance was in Teen Titans Vol 3.

My Little Legacy

Titans Appreciation Month: Week 4; Day 24 - Legacy  

“Waaa! Waaa!”

When I first heard my daughter’s loud wailing, the world around me seemed to slow down. Everything became surreal to me, as I watched Victor carrier my baby over to a nearby table to be cleaned and examined. I looked down at my wife, who looked terribly exhausted, and watched as she attempted to rest after the ordeal she had been in just moments ago. It took me a minute before I realized my hand was no longer being crushed by her. I slowly flexed my hand, grimacing at the pain that quickly followed.

“Well not broken, but defiantly bruised.” I thought to myself as I continued to stare at my sore hand.

“Waaa! Waaa!”

That same sound hit me like a pile of bricks. My head snapped back up just in time to see Victor walking towards me while holding a small pink bundle. He was looking down at the bundle in his hands, a huge grin on his face as he spoke softly to the newborn child.

“Alrightee little lady, you ready to meet your Daddy?”

I smiled at the half-robot’s words. “Daddy? Wow.” I still could not believe it, even as Victor very gently handed her over to me. The first thing I noticed was how small she was. She was only a week early, and Victor would have said something to me if he thought she was too small, but I still was shocked to feel just how fragile my daughter really was. That thought made me think more about just how fragile she really was. Although she was pretty small and helpless now, she would never stay that way for long.

As I took note of her black fuzz covering her head, her pale white skin, and the shape of her nose, I knew she was going to inherit more than just my good looks. This little girl was my little girl, and she was going to face this world head-on. She will be strong-willed, intelligent, and a natural born leader. Sure she will probably be just as stubborn as he was too, and just as intense, but luckily she also has some of her mother in her. She would have more than her mother’s beautiful eyes; she will have her passion, her endurance, and her innocence. She was delicate now, but she will grow, and when she does, she will be the strongest person he would know.

“Welcome to the world, Mar’i.” I cooed to her, with all the love I could muster. I watched in awe as she opened her gorgeous eyes and looked up at me for the first time. I swear she smiled at me with her mother’s smile. It was at that moment that I realized just how real this was.

“This is my daughter, this is my legacy.”
