Semi-Aquatic Percy Jackson Headcanons
(A lot of these will be random Atlantean culture ideas I made up)
Markings
If you were to ever see Percy shirtless you would see what he wants you to see, the mist is a powerful tool, especially for covering obvious marks. But if you are one of the few to see him without you would see identical columns of burn marks going from his collar bones down to his waist, each small and precise. In Atlantis warriors mark themselves with each battle won, each powerful enemy slain. Percy choose to brand himself with his victories, so that every time he looks at them and remembers the victory he remembers the pain and suffering wrought with it. Percy is a war veteran, and he’ll be damned if he ever lets himself or others romanticize the killing of war and the death of his companions.
Hair
Atlanteans put either a braid or loc in their hair for each year they are alive. The royal family never has, for in their immortality they would run out of space. Percy has never viewed himself as a prince, and he sure as hell isn’t immortal. He had 16 of them when he decided Olympus's fate, and 17 when he walked through the depths of Tartarus. And ever since he got them he’s had his camp beads decorated on them.
Strength
After his third quest Percy became obsessed with getting stronger to mitigate future deaths. It got to the point where he let himself submerge to the bottom of the sea, to the deepest trench, and let himself slowly get crushed by the pressure of the ocean. Pushed into the mud until he grew the strength to stand up, and then he’d let more weight fall onto him. Eventually he was able to stand with the weight of the entire ocean on him. It took him a week of ripping doors off hinges and breaking something with a touch before he got control over his new found strength.
Monster (Inspired by Witch_of_History’s Series)
Poseidon was renown as the Father of Monsters. All his children have the potential to live up to that title, his godly spawn where born with it, sharp teeth, razor claws, and tough scales. It came with being his immortal child, you were born touched by all his domains. But demigod children only gain access to their parents domains as they age or as they need them, and his half mortal children had never been monstrous. But as with all things mythological Percy pushed the envelope. His time in the deepest depths of the sea caused his body to adapt to his environment, the royal family was mostly homogenous with their monstrous traits. Percy was always an outlier to them though, when he finally ascended from the depths he had adapted beyond human. Increased senses of smell, sight, hearing. Able to sense nearby creatures bio-electric signals, capable of echo-location, can see infrared, magneto-reception. His monstrous form is a blue scaled, razor clawed,bi-pedal apex predator of the deep. A scaled merrow-esque person with an extra rows of shark teeth behind their human teeth. Annabeth and Grover have never been more enamored with a demigods powers before, and the Hunters have never had a better hunting companion. Much to Artemis’ chagrin and Thalia’s delight.
Favors
Strong warrior or kings in Atlantis keep rings of their enemies and allies. On one hand will be rings made from the bones or weapons of enemies defeated, on the other are gifts or symbols fealty of debt’s owed to the wearer. Percy has no lack of rings. Titans, Giants, and ancient monsters leave many spoils for souvenirs. It’s his other hand that draws interest however, he liberated Thanatos, spared Hades after defeating him, assisted Persephone in retrieving her illegally made sword. None of these things came free, other demigods typically are sent off with recognition and little else. But Percy is a hardened veteran of undersea battles, defeating creatures older than Olympus and fighting against Oceanus prior to the Battle of Manhattan. They had no choice but to give him tribute for his actions. Hades and Persephone groaned about it, Thanatos gladly gave it up, and yet having a box filled with rings of allyship, fealty, and loyalty he’s never used them. But what people always forget is that Percy and Annabeth are a pair, whatever one has the other does as well. Best believe it, Annabeth has many plans that could use some godly touch.

Okay oc lore time
Jonny Quest the real adventures and the direct to video scooby movies takes place in the same universe. Myra is friends with the Quest Kids and Jessie Bannon.
Reboot (the cgi cartoon from 1994) also takes place in the same universe; Mainframe can access QuestWorld. Race Bannon flirted with Hexidecimal much to the horror of everyone else.
Swat Kats take place on another planet (nearly canonized in a scrapped ending for one of the episodes). I have a SK OC who works as the Kats' mission control/backup member.
Beau is a government agent who got cursed by the evil werecats; after their defeat died he was cured but had to send all his findings to the Quests so they can help the victims' families find closure. He then goes on to be an informant for various super teams.
Skysurfers also exists because that show was made by the same creators of Scooby Doo; Jack Hollister's father used to be lab partners with Dr. Quest.
Acceleracers takes place in the same universe due to being made by the same folks who made Reboot (being Canadian productions irl).
Mainframe and Cyberspace (of Cyberchase fame) may be linked, technically considers Mainframe a Site.
Gen 13 (mix of comics & the animated film) is set in the same verse. Unlike the movies Matthew Callahan doesn't die but remains under the custody of John Lynch; also he doesn't rejoin Ivana as he did in the comics. Also, unlike the comics Gen 13 actually has 13 members. They rotate time from time. Matthew is forced to be a part to undo the damage he caused working as Ivana's underling. Caitlyn is not his sister, his siblings are Sarah and Nicole as in the comics. Cait and Roxy are half sibs.
Im not sure if I want TFA in the same verse but for the sake of it yes; the year is current but still with the theme of Detroit rebuilding, to go along with Animated's theme of redemption
Jackie Chan Adventures are set in same verse as the 2006 legion of superheroes, the 03 Teen Titans, Xiaolin Showdown, and 2004 Batman.
GI Joe Sigma Six is set in the same verse as TFA.
GI Joe Renegades and Transformers Prime are set in the same verse detached from Sigma Six and TFA.
Universal's Monster Force is set in same verse as JQTRA and Scooby Doo
The 2000s Mummy and Tintin take place in the past; 1930s at the earliest. Bayformers and the live action Joes take place in that timeline's future.
Mummies Alive take place in San Fran and likely set in the future of the Mummy cartoon. It also takes place in the same verse as the 90s King Kong & Godzilla cartoons.
My Descendants rewrite takes place in a world where the heroes never agreed to send villains on the Isle. Instead the isle is simply a mysterious place said to harbor riches beyond legend.
Gargoyles, Atlantis, The Mighty Ducks cartoon, BLOSC, and OUAT takes place in the same verse. BLOSC is set in space and has a ranger from the same planet the Swat Kats come from
Osmosis Jones is in its own solar system based on organic body parts. Its "star" pulses like a heart beat. Sorry but I hate Bill Murray.
Loonatics Unleashed takes place in the same time period of the regular looney tunes; instead of being descendants theyre distant cousins. Acmetropolis is a mega city using Sumdac Tech
Zadavia comes from a planet English translaters describe as Freleng. The common export is energy crystals and its rocky deserts is a haven for geologists and unlucky miners everywhere
The civil war was sparked by General Deuce and Optimatus's betrayal

On the topic of the Werefolk and Therianthropic culture in general (Creative Writing/Fantasy)
As I dip my pen into the pot and begin to write upon the silicon once more, I wonder where I should begin. About which of the wonders I have seen I should tell you.
The fall of Atlantis? The Titans who reigned there? The Betrayal? The Dark Millennia and its internecine warfare? The crash of the Vampyr and the legacy of the ship and her children? The Fae-driven quest for colonialism?
Where, in short, do you begin when you want to cover the vast scope of the world? Captain America or Gilgamesh? Heracles or Superman? Plato or Angela Davis? In the vast swathe of human experience that is filled with laughter and terrified screams, where do you begin?
Where should I begin?
Perhaps, taking a dart and metaphorically throwing it at the board, we shall discuss the Therianthropes--the Werefolk.
When the words "Werefolk" are invoked, most people think specifically of the Werewolves and the Lycanthropic Panic that was started by Universal Films in 1913.
The studio's release of "The Werewolf," and the now well-documented Lycanthropic Panic saw the Werewolves flee from America's cities to hide in the rural spaces of the world. Europe, never a very welcoming place to Lycanthropes, saw that old prejudice flare up again, and it spread across the world. First across the British Empire before jumping borders.
But of course the fear and hatred did not stay contained to the Werewolves. All the Werefolk found themselves fleeing population centers and hiding wherever they could, where they remain to this day.
From the Werehawk to the Werelephant, the shapeshifting branch of humanity known as the Werefolk fled to the corners of the world that had not yet been overly touched by the rest of humanity. Here and there groups would form, often but not always along the lines of their kind, but communities of mixed Werefolk were as common as not.
And there they have largely stayed, only in the last decade or three beginning to probe the wider fabric of society as the latest generation, impossibly bored by the generations of exile, have begun making names for themselves as the world has begun to rediscover and embrace the weird and fantastical and magical alike.
There is no singular Therianthropic culture, just as there is no singular form they all take. But there are some fairly regular constants around Werefolk culture writ large:
Unlike some of the horror stories that have risen up in popular culture about them, the Werefolk are indeed human. Their form may have been altered by the Fae during the Dark Millennia but they remain firmly human, if at times something slightly more.
The concept of an "Inner Wolf/Animal" that fights them for control of their mind is a dehumanizing stereotype originating in England in the mid-1800's that was later used as an excuse for the Werewolf Hunts.
The concepts of Alpha, Beta, and Omega Werewolves (and sometimes by extension other Werefolk) are, as always, not true and never have been. This theory that found its way into popular culture was started by L. David Mech in his book The Wolf, and debunked by him years later, even if popular culture has failed to recognize this.
While it is true that in some respects Werefolk's human physiology is affected by the form they shapeshift into, it is generally agreed that the Werefolk Essentialist claim that the animal they become is the main predictor of their behavior are, in fact, wrong. No matter how loud the Essentialists are. A diminutive weremouse can be as aggressive as a Polar Bear, and a massive Wererhino as meek and gentle as a capybara.
Werefolk tend to form tightly knit communities that are generally insular, often around family-based "clan" cultures forced upon them by the Werewolf Hunts of the 1930s that, after all, were rarely satisfied with just hunting the Werewolves and often changed up their targets to other Therianthropes, from Wereotters to Weremoose.
While generally distrustful of outsiders, they are fiercely loyal to their friends and found family. Some have, in the last century, developed formalized bonds of social debtory via formal, pronounced pacts, colloquially known as Life Debts.
Unlike their portrayals in Popular Culture, Werefolk can generally transform from human to animal form within seconds in a usually painless procedure (see also: Permanent Therianthropism and Transformative Disabilities)
Despite what you may have heard from print and film, Werefolk rarely stayed alone in their communities for long. Indeed, the modern American hidden cities were all formed with Werefolk as a base, with other magical humans and creatures trickling in to hide as they, in turn, were targeted and had to flee.
An academic footnote on Life Debts: So-called Life Debts were only awarded for acts of extreme bravery and a highly formalized, culturally-specific form of alliance stronger than any other kind of bond. Stronger than friendship, stronger than blood. Life Debts were not declared on an individual level, but at the clan, family, and/or community level. Despite what the fantasy authors may tell you, there is not a single recorded case of a Life Debt on an individual level. They tended to last for at least 2 generations before being considered having been repaid, and often saw an intermingling of Werefolk involved in the Debt from the affected communities. Modern Therianthropic academics dispute the number of Life Debts that have ever been declared and fewer still that were called upon, but out of the thousands of examples in the historical and literary record, they suggest that fewer than three hundred were ever actually formed and less than half that number ever called upon. It is a colorful, though overhyped, example of Werefolk culture that has caught the imagination of popular culture. The historians additionally tell us that only the Werepuma, Werepossum, and Werebison communities have recorded examples of initiating Life Debts in their oral or written histories.

My view on how Pokémon Horizons could end + A theory on Gibeon's team!!! SPOILERS
Tumblr media
Hello everyone and yes, I do love Pokémon Horizons a lot from what I saw and I want to see more of Liko, so much so, I even hope she can get to the other parts of the ninth Pokémon generation. And I will also confess to have this series be so beloved by me, that I wish I could have seen as a child this series, and yes, I like it more than Ash's adventures, which is not to say that I hated the OG's quest for becoming Pokémon master, but I think the concept of liking two things, but one more is a no-brainer to most of you all.
Anyway I am not for a review here, but for how I think Horizons might end, with the next post being about Kieran and Carmine, and how they can be adapted to Horizons.
Without any further do, how Horizons might end:
Right now Liko has to prove that idiot Grusha wrong by showing him how not giving up and showing that you are resilient is far more important that either winning and losing, because you will always taste both of it, but true strenght comes from standing up for yourself, not succumbing and continuing with your live, kinda like in a video game. She will have of course to relearn this from Amethio, and then beat the cold Grusha and he warms up to this and becomes a better person.
How the Terastal course will end is a bit in the dark, but I think they will all pass and continue finding Lucius's Pokémon, who are all needed to get into Laqua, the mystery Atlantis-like place only he and Gibeon reached. Speaking of which, it will be revealed that he knew Lucius and probably had a nasty falling out with this stud and wants revenge, as well as Immortality. His exact motives are unclear, but we have to realize that he will get to this place, and after the heroes gathered all of Lucius Pokémon either through fighting or negotiating with them, the Explorers will snatch them and are going to Laqua. Liko, who might have been taken advantage of by Amethio or Gibeon, due to her mores trusting nature, or something before that event will have a downward arc with her being more aggressive and ruthless with her opponents, culminating with her Pokémon growing to fear her and ultimately snapping out of it and realizing that the true heart of a Pokémon should never be badly poisoned by hatred, thus evolving into a Pokémon whisperer, but without N's ability, she is just that empathic.
Anyway, Roy and Dot will also develop probably into becoming more competent battelers, with Roy ultimately beating Rayquaza and Dot having managed to outwit Spinel completely and getting back for what he did to Liko, and thus also found the Explorers base to prevent them from gettting the Eternal Blessing: Rakurium.
Ultimately they will recapture Lucius's Pokémon and after some epic shenanigans, Liko alone will face against Gibeon with her own mon's and/or with Lucius's Pokémon to fight Gibeon team, which is something I am kinda working on:
Lucius and Gibeon were implied to be close friends, and in order to keep up, he would also have to posses Pokémon as insane as Lucius does, which are the following:
Black Rayquaza, Galarian Moltress, Arbolivia, Lapras, Cleavor and Entei, 3 of the non-legendaries being centuries old titan-level of strong, literally, as they are giants.
We already know he own a Shiny Zygarde at it's 10% form(it resembles a white Dog, then becomes at 100% a large humanoid monster tained white and green), both as counterparts to Liko's Cat Pokémon (which will evolve into a Meowscarada) and the Shiny Rayquaza (with the black color). So I expect Gibeon to battle at some points with it's 10% form against Meowscarada, a plant cat at fighting against the earth dog, then getting it at 50%, and finally at 100%, where it will fight against the constant Terastalized Rayquaza, also with Terastalization. An Epic battle between Dragons will ensue, and also be symbolic, as Rayquaza is a being of the sky, as opposed to Zygarde being a creature from the earth itself. This also helps me figure out the opposites to Galarian Moltress and Entei:
You see, Lucius befriended Legendary Pokémon and if Gibeon as theorized had been his closest friend, and also owns a Legendary that serves as stark opposite, Gibeon would also have 2 legendaries as counterpart to Lucius's other 2 Legendaries:
Galarian Moltress and Entei belong to their trio's respectively: G-Moltress, G-Zapdos and G-Articuno as legendary birds of Galar, with Entei, Raikou and Suicune being the 3 legendary beast of Johto. The obvious 2 Pokémon Gibeon would choose are Galarian Zapdos and Raikou, as this would fit with them being sort of rivals and friends, as Fire vs Electricity is a common dynamic in Pokémon that serve as foil to one another, as seen with Reshiram (fire) and Zekrom (electricity) and with Charizard and Pikachu. So having also G-Zapdos and Raikou would also make Gibeon more challening as Galarian Articuno is weak to the Legendary bird Lucius befriended, thus would also be less intiminating. With Suicune, it is a Pokémon known for it's compassion and comes with the north wind to purify water, which makes it a bad fit for Gibeon's character that much, and the more aggressive Pokémon fit his cruel nature rather better, and makes him closer to Lucius, if the 2 Pokémon at least shared something (plasma-energy, and would fit therefore as friends that eventually would be seperated). Finally, if Lucius had the fire-based legendaries from the two trio's, then only G-Zadpos and Raikou would be there, or it would not make sense to have either G-Articuno and Raikou or G-Zapdos and Suicune. Also it is said that Raikou descends with Lighting and can thus soar through the sky, while Entei roams the land and is bounded by the earth through it's affinity with Magma. With G-Moltress races through the Sky and Entei is roaming the land, while G-Zapdos is earth bound and moves through mountains, while Raikou moves through the sky and comes with Lighting, it would make much nicer contrasts to one another than G-Articuno and Suicune could as Gibeon's mon's. So, he would have probably G-Zapdos and Raikou.
The other Pokémon are hard to figure out, unless we take into account what they represent, and their possible counterparts:
Lucius's Arbolivia represents Life, growth and the healing of wounds, which would be opposed by a Pokémon representing death, decay and inflicting of wounds, and that Pokémon is Hisuian Zoroak, not only because it's entry describes it as a sort of dead being filled with Malice, but also by being a Normal/ghost type that is immune to Arbolivia's Grass/Normal typing and vice versa with it's secondary normal typing. Also it is deceptive, like any Zoroask, and thus would fit with Gibeon's personality as Paldea's crime boss.
Lucius's other Giant Pokémon is Lapras, a Water/Ice Pokémon known for crossing the sea, but I think here it might be more of a dark counterpart rather than a direct opposite, since it would fit better with the theming of these Pokémon being all mostly from diffrent regions, and I think having dark versiosn of those Pokémon is better than all Pokemon of Gibeon being complete opposites. So I think a Gyarados fits as a Gen 1 Water type that contrasts to the peaceful and happy looking Lapras. A helpful Pokémon vs a beligerent Pokémon fits well I think. However if we have to make a polar opposite, I think it would be either Magmortar or Turtonator, as both are volcanic creatures (thus oppose water and ice), and one of them is from Alola, a Pokémon which has none of Lucius's Pokemon there. So either Gyrados or Turtonator.
Lucius's last gaint Pokemon is a Cleavor (a Bug/Rocktype), which is said to break down walls. Now this is tricky, because I think you could use Gardevior as a counterpart, due to being a protector or use highly defensive bulky Pokémon as counterpart, but after some consideration, I choose Conkeldurr as the opposite, a builder of walls, as this Pokédex entry states that it helped humans to create concrete, used also for Walls, and would fit as a foil to Cleavor. If we want to go with a dark counterpart, then Lokix would work, as it fights with it's legs instead of arms, and is also a bug, but with a dark typing as well. It could also work with Scarlet and Violet as well, as Cleavor is ancient looking, while Lokix looks futuristic, making them thus both foils. However Scizor could also work, but is too modern and Genesect is out of question, because having more legendary Pokémon is too much, and having a Paldea Pokémon being once again being a counterpart to Hisui fits really well.
So I think Gibeon's team will look like this:
Shiny Zygarde (all forms)
Galarian Zapdos
Hisuan Zoroak (Giant)
Turtonator or Gyarados (Both Giants)
Lokix or Conkeldurr (Both Giants)
Raikou
Thus we get his evil team, but wait, Lucius also had Terapagos..which makes me think of this situation:
Either Gibeon has a brand new Pokémon as counterpart to Terapagos, OR Gibeon will control Terapagos until Liko frees him...in any case, Liko will with Terapagos defeat Gibeon, foiling whatever plan he had. I go with BN Pokémon because that would be cooler, and have it be something that works as anti-teratalization Pokémon, with Terapagos being the only Pokémon to resist it. Liko will help Terapagos unleash a new move unique to the anime, just to make it cool and finish off Gibeon's hidden ace.
All of this is speculation, don't take it as a gospel, so have fun and start theorizing in the comments or reposts below!

Embracer Shuts Down Developer Of The New Alone In The Dark
New Post has been published on https://thedigitalinsider.com/embracer-shuts-down-developer-of-the-new-alone-in-the-dark/
Embracer Shuts Down Developer Of The New Alone In The Dark
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Embracer has shut down Pieces Interactive, the developer of the Alone in the Dark reimagining that arrived earlier this year. The studio is the latest to be closed by the troubled company over the last 10 months.
Pieces Interactive’s website now only features a graphic listing “2007-2024 Thanks For Playing With Us” and a short blurb detailing its history:
Pieces Interactive released over ten titles on PC, Console and Mobile since 2007, both our own concepts such as Puzzlegeddon, Fret Nice, Leviathan Warships, Robo Surf and Kill to Collect, as well as work for hire titles such as Magicka 2 and several DLCs for Magicka. Our client list includes Paradox Interactive, Koei Tecmo, Arrowhead Game Studios, Koch Media and RaceRoom Entertainment.
In 2017, Pieces Interactive were acquired by Embracer Group after working with the expansion for Titan Quest, Titan Quest: Ragnarök and third expansion for Titan Quest, Titan Quest: Atlantis.
Our last release was the reimagening of Alone in the Dark.
Alone in the Dark launched on March 20 to mixed reviews, currently sitting at a 63 on Metacritic. The game stars actors Jodie Comer and David Harbour, who lent their voices and likenesses, in a third-person reimagining of the 1992 survival horror classic.

Following the collapse of a $2 billion deal with the Saudi Arabia-backed Savvy Games Group in 2023, Embracer has undergone a massive restructuring to stay afloat, resulting in a significant reduction of headcount across its many studios. That has included laying off over 1,000 employees (including those at Eidos-Montreal), selling off its studios (Saber Interactive, Gearbox Entertainment), and outright closing others (Free Radical Design, Volition Games). Embracer has most recently split itself into three separate companies, with its studios divided among them.

Poseidon’s Atlantis Adventure – The Human Hybrid Experiment
5 Star Review
Tumblr media
DEC 29
Posted by Literary Titan
Poseidon’s Atlantis Adventure by Grace Blair marks an ambitious beginning to her Atlantis series, seamlessly weaving science fiction elements into the rich tapestry of Greek mythology. This novel, the first in the series, presents an imaginative twist on the classic Titanomachy, offering readers an alternative perspective through the eyes of Poseidon as he battles alongside his siblings in the quest for dominion.
Blair’s narrative commences with a fresh take on this mythological war, culminating in Poseidon’s reign over the seas. At the same time, Zeus and Hades govern the land, skies, and the underworld, respectively. The story then diverges from traditional mythology, depicting a restless Poseidon who yearns to escape Zeus’s shadow. His journey leads him to the enigmatic Atlantis and to Cleito, who reveals unexpected truths, propelling Poseidon into a saga of time travel, confronting ancient evils, and exploring futuristic technologies beyond the imagination of the gods.
Blair’s nuanced portrayal of Poseidon is one of the novel’s most commendable aspects. Turning an omnipotent deity into a relatable character is no small feat, yet Blair achieves this by highlighting Poseidon’s imperfections and vulnerabilities. Finding himself in the advanced civilization of Atlantis, Poseidon must navigate this new world with the assistance of mortals, providing an intriguing contrast to his divine status. The narrative delves into thought-provoking themes, particularly the ethical complexities of advanced technology, such as genetic engineering and human hybridization. Blair does not avoid the moral ramifications of these advancements, adding a layer of depth to the story. The inclusion of spiritual elements, epitomized by the character Lucus and his teachings of “The Way,” further enriches the narrative.
Poseidon’s Atlantis Adventure will particularly resonate with Greek mythology and science fiction enthusiasts. Blair’s skillful pacing and immersive writing style invite readers into a world of wonder, underscored by her evident passion and extensive research into Greek myths. The anticipation for the second installment in the series is palpable, given the strong foundation laid in this opening novel.

Percy Jackson Headcanons
(A lot of these are inspired by other people’s ideas)
-Percy has Tattoos
Lots of little ones to symbolize his friends both dead and alive, obviously a tattoo devoted to Sally. But he also has forearm tattoos of the symbols of the gods and goddesses he respects, it’s only a rainbow, a firepoker in a hearth, and a silver arrow on his forearms.
-Percy introduces all his godly cousins by stupid names
Sally honestly wasn’t surprised when a god showed up at the door, she was surprised when Percy called him “cousin snake man and his two pocket snakes” (who he promptly fed rats).
-Percy has a New York accent It only comes out when he’s really angry, tired, or horny. Annabeth hears it more than others.
-Percy has long hair
It grew out past shoulder length while he was missing and he hasn’t cut it since. Both Annabeth and Sally like it, but when he grows a beard he looks like the Poseidon of myth.
-Percy can Cook
He learned from his mom and has never stopped. Baking, grilling, cooking, smoking. if it’s a type of cooking, he does it, and he does it well. Nico avoided Percy for two months after losing a pasta competition to him and even that wasn’t long enough to avoid the shame.
-Percy, Lee, Beckendorf, Silena, and Clarrise where all really close friends
It started when Percy wanted to learn to make stuff in the forge, which snowballed into Beckendorf basically adopting Percy and introducing him to his crew. It took a couple years but eventually Clarrise warmed up to him, they were a crucial part of each others mental recovery after the Titan war.
-Percy is a stoner
Just enough to keep the edge off but he refuses to touch alcohol due to Gabe. Beckendorf and Lee spent like 2 months researching demigods, filing a report, submitting it to Athena, and gaining her seal of approval on the “Study of Drugs on Demigod Physiology” (It basically says demigod minds and bodies are durable enough to nullify addictive chemicals and the negative effects of some drugs). The group celebrated the approval of such a study by smoking and watching the live action Alvin and the Chipmunks.
-Percy loves SpongeBob
Percy is currently giving Poseidon the silent treatment because he refused a burger cooking contest with him despite Percy pulling the golden spatula from the grease in front of him. Also, yes, Poseidon does look similar to early SpongeBob Neptune, and no he has no clue how Percy managed to smuggle a bucket of grease and a golden spatula into Atlantis.
-Percy is a pirate
After his third quest Percy went ape shit trying to fight the war and end it before it took anymore lives. It culminated in him carrying a gun at all times and rebuilding an old sunken ship to its former glory. He didn’t get to use it until the summer leading into the titan war where he sunk 4 ships transporting monsters and 2 ships that were moving illegal objects
-Percy doesn’t fight for Olympus
Percy has never cared about the gods beyond making sure they don’t hurt the people he loves. His speech during the battle of Manhattan was a call to the demigods to fight to protect each other, to protect their family, and to fight this war so the next generation of demigods might not have to. Him and every other counselor sees their jobs as protecting the youngest and newest demigods above all else.
-Percy is musical
Whether it’s because he has the sea coursing through his veins or something else he’s good at singing, guitar, and most instruments. He occasionally used to play as a joke for kids at camp. Now it’s mostly a coping mechanism for the wars and Tartarus, anyone that needs music to relate to is free to listen.
Most of the counselors and elder hunters have a shared memory of the night before the last day of the Titan war. None of them could sleep out of fear of the unavoidable casualties tomorrow would bring, so they gathered in the most secluded room and sat and mourned. Eventually, Percy broke out a bag of weed to help everyone relax since they couldn’t sleep while Percy and Grover performed a heart-stopping rendition of Peace Train by Cat Stevens.

Diablo meets Greek mythology as beloved classic ARPG returns
Tumblr media
The much-loved mythology-focused ARPG from 2006 is brought back in Titan Quest 2, a brand-new sequel for the present. The original Titan Quest is still one of the best Diablo-like games that came out after Diablo 2, bringing the ancient Greek mythology featured in games like Age of Mythology and Assassin's Creed Odyssey to the action-RPG genre with a beautiful world, robust multiplayer options, and of course lots of loot. Now, Titan Quest 2 intends to continue that legacy by providing a different challenger to games like Diablo 4 and Path of Exile 2. Revealed at the THQ Digital Nordic showcase on August 11, 2023, Titan Quest 2 tasks players with taking up arms and joining the fight against Nemesis, Goddess of Retribution. The announcement comes alongside a stunning cinematic trailer showing armored warriors marching through the streets of ancient Greece, before fiery spirits descend from the heavens as the sky parts to herald the arrival of Nemesis. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bY6yb8OoFvw The first Titan Quest, helmed by Age of Empires co-creator Brian Sullivan with a script from Braveheart screenwriter Randall Wallace, was a great spin on the Diablo formula. While it didn’t do anything truly revolutionary, it gave fans a welcome adventure five years after the release of Diablo 2: Lord of Destruction and another five prior to the eventual arrival of Diablo 3. Titan Quest received a special ten-year anniversary edition in 2016 that combines it with its Immortal Throne expansion alongside improved multiplayer tools, mod support through Steam Workshop, and even some new heroes and bosses along the way. It maintains a 91% positive Steam rating, and even got three additional expansions branching out into other mythological areas in the forms of Titan Quest Ragnarök, Atlantis, and Eternal Embers. Much like its predecessor, Titan Quest 2 promises a versatile character-building kit that lets you combine two masteries of your choice to create a distinct hybrid class and then supplement it with all manner of skill modifiers, attributes, and that sweet, sweet loot. Developer Grimlore Games promises, “Every item serves a function, and every character class has many options when it comes to finding the perfect equipment.” Along with plenty of drops, there’ll also be a robust crafting system to look forward to in Titan Quest 2. “Even the most common spear can be upgraded via affix crafting,” Grimlore Games explains, “and with the right ingredients you may even forge it into a unique item spoken only of legend.” As someone who came to the first Titan Quest late and still found plenty to love in its approach to the format, I’m very excited at the prospect of its return. With the likes of Diablo 4, Path of Exile 2, and Last Epoch, it feels like we’re having a real renaissance of the action-RPG game, and I couldn’t be happier. Now I’m just eager to see Titan Quest 2 gameplay in action, although the screenshots already look fantastic. Titan Quest 2 is listed as “coming soon” on Steam but currently has no release date – for now you can add it to your wishlist to keep track of it. If you’re intrigued enough to try its predecessor, Titan Quest Anniversary Edition is currently 75% off on Steam at just $4.99 / £4.49, down from $19.99 / £17.99. Looking for more great games to play with your friends? We’ve got the best co-op games to keep your squad busy. If you’d rather venture out alone, take a look through the best single-player games instead. Read the full article

The fact that kids can’t regularly see “traditional” animated movies in theaters regularly anymore is kind of sad actually. I’m not against other formats, I just think you could do a lot of creative things with this style and I’m sad to see it basically disappear.
