Headcanon

Tinsley frequently gets a little too invested in his cases. It’s become a routine for him to not sleep until the case is solved. During these periods, he often runs only on spite and an ungodly amount of coffee alone (he really doesn’t even like the taste of it but he’s grown so used to needing it to stay alive awake). Once he solves the case and justice is executed properly, he’ll lock himself in his apartment for three days at least and sleep.

Bonus: Ricky makes time to take care of the exhausted detective by making sure he eats and gets plenty of rest during his “hibernation period”.

Shyan/Tinsworth (Romantic or Platonic) AU Idea

Time Travelling CC Tinsley!Shane and Reborn Ricky Goldsworth.

Ryan runs a two Popular Podcasts, Unsolved Supernatural and Unsolved True Crime. He’s actually helped solve an unsolved crime with his Podcast, and he’s helped by his friends in producing it. In his spare time, Ryan has become obsessed with the online comic “Cold Cases, Crimes Revisited” which is a partial Fiction, partial Non-Fiction comic that takes the disappearance of Detective CC Tinsley and adds a supernatural twist, allowing him to travel through time. The comic explores different Cold Cases and True Crime cases every couple of weeks, exploring the plethora of evidence and theories surrounding the cases as if investigated by Tinsley himself.

The author of this webcomic also has another one “Ruining History” which is more comedic and aims to teach people about History in a fun and light way, which Ryan also enjoys.

And the author themselves? Unknown, a total stranger to everyone. They go only by a moniker S.A.M. They’ve never revealed their identity, or linked their web comics to personal social medias, so no one has any idea who they are

So imagine Ryan’s surprise when he hears that they’re going to appear at San Diego Comic Con, with a large booth dedicated to their Web comics.

At the Convention, Ryan makes straight for the booth where S.A.M is only to find it manned by a Comic Con employee. When he asks where the Author is, Ryan is told he didn’t come, the booth was set up when the staff arrived with a request for them to man it.

Ryan is disappointed, and someone asks him if he’s a fan of the comics. This is when he meets Shane Alexander Madej, a tall and ridiculously weirdly handsome man who seems to enjoy the comics too, and shares Ryan’s “displeasure” that the author and artist is not there. Oh do they chat for a long time, walking around the convention together and Shane telling Ryan he’s a fan of his Podcasts, but doesn’t believe in ghosts. That leads to some heated - but fun - banter and they spend the rest of the Convention together. (please ignore the giant gap idk why Tumblr is like this)

Ryan leaves less disappointed after meeting Shane. Little does he know, Shane is actually CC Tinsley himself, and “Cold Cases” is actually the telling of Shane’s experiences as a Time Traveller. And Ryan? Ryan is the pure, reborn soul of Ricky Goldsworth, Tinsley arch enemy that history forgot.
