ran comes home late often enough that it's not an issue.
his schedule is erratic. he doesn't work every single night, but when he's called to work he's gone, and almost unreachable too. and he's definitely coming home late on those days.
between the two of you (two sleepy people) he knows it's no hard feelings to come home to you fast asleep. he just strips off, does a quick shower, speedruns through his unskippable skin care routine and settles into bed with you. one arm snaked around your waist and into your panties, two fingers in your warm pussy, and he's out like a light.
it's a fun routine.
but you miss him.
sure, you have the sleepy mornings and the evenings filled with wine and whichever new little snack ran had flown in from God knows where, but you missed the nights.
the nights of opening your arms and legs for your man, undressing him, tumbling around in bed till you're both sore and filthy and then hopping in the tub for another round- ahem, a bath.
so tonight's the night!
you're adorned in a light blue lingerie set, the type that highlights your titties and has a crotchless panties. your usual home clothes are thrown on on top of this sexy get up because of the chill from the ac, and even though you've fought back many a yawn, the moment you hear scuffling and the beep of the lock, you throw off your loose clothes and position yourself spread across the sofa.
you watch as ran staggers into the foyer, stumbling, stifling a yawn. he makes a beeline past the hall and straight to the master bedroom without paying you even the slightest glance.
you sit there dumbfounded.
you can hear him tossing off his clothes, washing his face and finally turning the lamp by the nightstand on to do his skin care before he realises you're not in bed.
"sweetheart?"
you hear him jog out of the room, turn the corner and seeing you sitting on the sofa, all (sex) dolled up, and glaring holes into him.
"what are you- oh," he stops, eyes taking you in. "oh honey, come here," he calls you, spreading his arms.
you stare at him and get up, and walk past him to your bedroom.
"honey? honey! baby, i'm so sorry, it's so late and it's been such a long day, this has nothing to do with- "
"literally die," you mutter, clambering onto the bed.
"are you wearing those crotchless panties?"
"die! go hang out with your precious besties! die!" you hiss, wrapping the blankets around yourself and settling in.
"baby- "
"i don't want to hear one fucking word ran haitani."
you shut your eyes, turning your face into the pillow, tears of anger stinging behind your shut eyelids. god, this was so humiliating more than anything. you were so excited, and the worst part is you can't even blame him, you know how tiring his days can get.
you hear him slowly sit down on the bed and turn the lamp off. no skincare, nothing, and he settles into bed next to you, almost spooning you, but giving you some space.
you feel his hand come up to stroke your hair.
"good night angel."
Tumblr media
something's keeping you up.
you can't put a finger on what it is exactly.
you twist around and see ran fast asleep next to you, no doubt too exhausted to even pleade his case with you. his hand is on your pillow, having fallen asleep while stroking your hair. you had fallen asleep too, but something woke up you up around twenty minutes ago, and you can't seem to figure out what.
the temperature of the room is perfect. chill, but not cold. the blankets aren't too heavy to make you hot. you aren't hungry and you just took a few sips of water some time back when you had woken up.
so what is it?
do you miss ran? do you miss the contact of him spooning you?
no... not that you wouldn't miss it, but more like you and ran moved around in bed a lot while you sleep so you aren't always touching each other.
no, this is something more related to your body.
for a second you wonder if you're secretly pregnant.
no.
you press a hand on your stomach. you feel like you're close to the problem, because now you can zero in on something inside you being wrong, but pregnant? no. not even food poisoning, you didn't eat anything disagreeable.
something inside you...
"ran. ran!"
you shake him, and if you weren't so taken aback, you would've stopped to admire how gorgeous he is. his purple and black hair fans out on his forehead, and his chest gently rises and falls. he really could be a model, his strong angular jaw and his angelic features uniting masculinity and femininity to create such beauty.
"ran!" you smack him across his face with your pillow.
"what, what, fuck!" he shouts, rising up to his elbows, his eyes flitting over you. his hands immediately roam over you before his eyes adjust to the dark to make sure that you're in one piece and not hurt in any way.
"wha' happened," he says gruffly, sitting up this time, his hands still on your waist protectively.
you falter, seeing how protective he is of you, and how much sexier he sounds with his voice deeper from sleep.
you bite your lip. "hi."
"what the fuck happened," he blinks at you slowly, like he can't believe this situation. he's just been forced awake by his panicked little wife who had just been screaming and now you're sitting pretty, hair mussed, bra strap sliding off your shoulder, eyes wide, looking ditzy.
"um, nothing much. what's up with you?" you shrug, looking down.
"i'm going to count to three- "
he doesn't even have to finish his sentence for you to start talking. you know all too well what happens when he counts to three.
"so you know how i dressed up for you and then you so very rudely ignored me?"
"i apologized for that, and you told me to die."
"yeah, that."
he stares at you. "and?" he prompts.
"i didn't actually want you to die."
that makes him crack a little smile. "why thank you. that's one less person now. unfortunately the list's a bit too long for me to be in the clear, honey."
you scrunch up your face at that. ran's a terrible person. you forget that sometimes. his worst crime is probably torture and homicide, not kicking your plushie off the bed.
"was that all?" he asks, thumb stroking your waist. "can we sleep now?"
"no," you say firmly. and then you mumble something.
"what?"
"there's something inside me."
"what did all those creampies pay off," he laughs. "wait a minute, did they?" his face morphs into horror.
"no, jesus. this is less scary."
"just spit it out already!"
"fine! when i was waiting for you, i..." you shift. "um i stuffed myself with some... beads," you trail off, nodding, glad that the lights are off, so he can't see you clearly.
ran leans to the nightstand and flicks the lamp on, making eye contact with you. well there goes decency. he looks at you, his face a mix of disbelief and criticism. "you stuffed yourself with some beads."
you nod again, unable to look at him.
he grabs your face and forced you closer. "you stuffed yourself with the anal beads i bought you and told you that i would help you with."
"i wanted to surprise you okay?"
"and then you fell asleep with them inside you. who was that for? the icu when they surgically remove them from you? what if i couldn't come home tonight?"
"fine!" you pull yourself away from him. he had spent his entire life being both a brother and a father to rindou that when he brought up his stern voice he could be so goddamn condescending. "i'll do it myself then! i don't need your help anyways!"
Tumblr media
you most definitely did need his help.
and that's why you find yourself laid on your tummy between ran's spread legs, him having pulled your hips towards him, ass facing him, legs locked around his back. your bra was tossed to the side, and your crotchless panties dangle from your ankle in sad defeat.
ran had sat back quietly, arms folded as he watched you try to pull the beads out. he didn't say a word, but watched you seriously, as though he were a teacher watching his student helplessly mess up an equation even further. the scrutiny sure didn't help, and only made you more tense.
you sniffle.
"and whose fault is it that you're in this position, huh?"
"yours."
you get a sharp slap on your left asscheek.
"it's my fault! i'm sorry!"
you can't see him, but you're sure he's enjoying this. ran's rather laidback and chill, but all of that is made up for with how much of a stern disciplinarian he is in situations like this.
he pulls your ass closer and your pussy settles on his crotch, feeling his thick and hard cock beneath his boxers. you snicker.
"what was that for, slut?" he asks, giving you a harsh pinch on your other cheek.
you squeal and kick your feet. "nothing. just nice to know you missed me too."
"hmm," he hums, taking you in.
you really are the stupidest little girl in the world. of course he misses you. he'd be mad not to. the light of his life. he loves his job, but he's been liking it less and less as it eats up all the time he keeps especialy for you. he's missed too many meetings and too many trips just to spend an evening watching a movie with you or a weekend away with you. and here you are, pitching a fit because apparently he doesn't miss you anymore.
as much as he chides you for your carelessness, it's landed his beautiful wife face down ass up, stuffed full in her ass with purple anal beads. all that could be seen of it was the glinting sea pearl that hung out like a charm from the base, with the backdrop of your pretty little pucker behind it.
he grabs the base and gives a little tug, causing you to yelp.
"you need to relax honey," he mutters, rubbing your back.
"well you're not helping with that," you grumble.
he rolls his eyes. he reaches for the lube and sees the half empty bottle and can't help but think about how much lube you had emptied within yourself trying to get it in in the first place, a finger pushing each bead in while the other hand poured lube on your gaping hole. his cock jumps at the image of that.
"hmm, what how can we get you to relax, huh? would a spanking work? you get pretty brainless from a good spanking, don't you honey? i was meaning to give you one in the morning just because of how you behaved with me."
you kick at the thought of that, heat filling your face, pussy pulsing at the thought. yes, unfortunately ran had trained you into taking his spankings well, but that would tense you up too much, and he knew that. he's just doing this to rile you up.
ran smirks as he watches your pussy squeeze around nothing, dampening. he's trained you well.
"but on second thought, maybe you need something more humiliating. you think i'm just wasting time hanging out with my guys at work, huh? how 'bout i handcuff you over the table with your panties pullled down, huh? so all the bad, bad men i work with can remind you of how tough this job is, huh?"
"no!" you whine, pushing your ass out. "no!"
he watches your pussy get wetter and wetter. he massages your lubed up hole with two fingers and slips two fingers inside you. you really were a sick girl. his sick girl.
"o- ohhh," you moan, as his thick, long fingers sink deeper inside you.
in and out, up and down. all while teases your asshole into opening. his finger swipe further and hurther in, scissoring before they finally curl down and hit your g spot.
"ran! ran! please, please, more!"
and that's when he slows down.
the rhythm he had built up slows down into a gentle massaging on your g spot.
"ran, what the hell? you're so- "
you falter as a another feeling takes over. an insistent pushing from in the inside of your hole.
plop!
"there we go," says ran, and you can hear the smile in his voice. " there's my big girl."
the first bead popped out, shiny and glossy, warm from your insides, lube dripping down it. your hole closes up again, and he presses down on your g spot again, causing you to let out a strangled cry.
"another one sweetheart," he coos, "relax for me?"
plop!
the second one pops out as your mind is lost from both the sensations. the bliss from having your g spot massaged combined with the odd pleasure that's coming from him playing with your hole.
plop!
"oh, there's another one," you murmur, dazed.
"my big girl can count can't she," he laughs. he sure has the fucking audacity. "last two honey."
you push your ass out and get onto your knees, chest pressed on the bed. he snickers at your eagerness and drives his fingers deeper in you, stroking away.
plop!
you feel lighter, both inside and in your head. you can't believe that for all your complaining, you're spending the night with your husband yanking anal beads out of your asshole. not even in a sexy way particularly. for the sake of not having a medical emergency.
"last one angel," he kisses you ass cheek. "can you do that for me?"
"uh huh."
"what do you say?"
"yes daddy," you keen as his fingers push deeper in you again. you feel his lips a feather light kiss on your perineum, and you can blush from how soft it feels.
he watches as the last bead slowly pushes it's way out of your hole with a final little plop!
watching your pretty hole gao almost sets something primal off in ran, and with a low growl he gets on his knee, one leg braced against the bed. he lowers his boxers and brings his heavy cock out that he had neglected for a little too long. the grinding of your pussy on his crotch wasn't nearly enough for what his eyes were feasting on.
the thick head of his tip slaps against your sloppy pussy and you whine, finally getting a taste of what you've been missing.
"give it to me ran, i've been waiting for too long."
"i know pretty, i've been gone for too long these days, haven't i?"
he pushes in, and that familiar feeling of being filled is back. you husband is back.
"daddy," you cry in ecstacy as his tip finally reaches the deepest it can go. "i love you."
"daddy's home honey," he pants, having mounted you finally, and now driving into to you. "i love you."
the pace picks up and you're boneless as ran's firm grip on your waist is all that's holding you up. he slams into you, his cock hitting all the right places as he leans down and covers all of you, holding you tight.
"i'm sorry angel, i'm sorry i haven't been home lately. but it's all for you, yeah. it's all so i can give you a beautiful life and make you a mama one day, nice and plump and spoiled."
"ohhh!" that sends a wave through you. "you wanna make me a mama?"
"yeah honey, you'll be a good mama, won't you? perfect girl?"
"yes, yes daddy," you cry, "i'm cumming, gonna come!"
"come for me angel," he pushes into you one final time, and you come together. the orgasm hits you like a tidal wave, causing you to sink under bliss as you feel him filling you up to the brim with his thick, warm cum.
he bites the crook of your neck and coos as he watches you shake underneath him.
"my wife," he whispers, pressing kisses down your neck. "my beautiful silly wife. i always miss you. i love you."
he turns you over, and you immediately twist your limbs into each others'. you smile as you look into his eyes, his hair still untouched despite it all. you reach out and mess it up, causing him to laugh and kiss your wrist.
"i love you," you mutter. "and i know you love spending time with me. i was just frustrated... and in need of a rough night with you. i don't actually want you to die."
"i know." he nods, giving you little kisses. "i'm the luckiest man alive to have a wife who loves me so much she stuffed herself full of the anal beads i told her not to use without me."
"my hole is sore," you groan as he nuzzles against your chest.
"bend over, i'll kiss it better."

Summary: Dating a vigilante sometimes leads to a few false alarm scares, but Dick Grayson couldn't be happier with how well his partner rolls with his crazy family.
Word Count: 1,410
Category: Fluff
Putting work into an AI program without permission is illegal. You do not have my permission. Do not do it.
Crash!
My eyes shot open at the sound of a noise from the living room of the apartment I shared with my boyfriend, Dick Grayson. The man in question still snored peacefully next to me, annoyingly, but a quick glance at the clock told me why. It wasn't quite 5am, and Dick had been out patrolling until one in the morning. I listened carefully for any other noises in the apartment. I didn't want to wake my poor boyfriend up unless I absolutely had to.
After a few minutes of nothing, I heard another crash followed by a tense voice and what sounded like hushed swearing. This time, I didn't hesitate to roll over and whack Dick on the chest, hard.
His eyes shot open and he was half sitting up when I managed to throw a hand over his mouth to keep him from giving away that we were awake. My wide eyes must've tipped him off to something being wrong, because I immediately saw him shift from sleepy to ready for action.
Slowly, I dropped my hand from his mouth and leaned in to whisper in his ear.
"There's someone in our living room. I heard two crashes and someone swearing."
Dick nodded once, then motioned with his hands while mouthing 'stay here'. He hopped off the bed, grabbing his escrima sticks from where he'd thrown them onto the dresser, then stalked towards the door with catlike grace and stealth. After a minute, I decided I couldn't just let him go alone, superhero or no, so I grabbed the bat I kept by my side of the bed and followed after him.
Dick popped out the door, and after a moment without hearing anything, I followed, bat at the ready. I found my boyfriend with one hand on his hip, weapons down, staring into the kitchen. I followed his gaze to find none other than Jason Todd in our kitchen, a mixing bowl and some eggs in front of him and a look with a significant lack of guilt on his face.
"What? I was after somebody and it dragged me all the way to Bludhaven. I needed a place to crash that was closer than Gotham."
Dick and I both shook our heads. As the oldest of a very high number of siblings, his apartment had become a second home base for every single other batkid. When we'd finally moved in together last month, he'd warned me I needed to be prepared for things like this.
"Glad you know to help yourself, Little Wing," said Dick with a sigh, waving one tired hand to Jason before turning and heading back to bed. I squeezed his shoulder and gave him a quick kiss on the cheek as he passed me, then headed into the kitchen with a smile.
"My tax for you making me think I'd have to fight off an assailant with a bat at five in the morning is my own serving of whatever you're making," I said, taking a seat on one of the kitchen island stools. Jason raised an eyebrow at me.
"You're not going back to bed?"
"Nah. Unlike Dick, I got to bed at a somewhat reasonable hour last night, so the adrenaline dump isn't threatening to put me to sleep. I'd rather hang out with you, especially since you're a better cook than Dick and I combined. I'm not missing out on that."
Jason snorted, cracking an egg and resuming his cooking all the same.
"Dick contributes nothing to your combined cooking score," he said. "I'm pretty sure he's burned cereal before."
I laughed. "Yeah, I'm pretty sure you're right. He's gotten better though. We watch the Food Network and look up recipes to make together, and I can trust him with way more than I used to be able to."
"If you could teach him anything it'd be a miracle," said Jason with a snort. I just hummed, trying to pick up some new skills of my own as I watched Jason cook.
"To be totally fair to him, I once forgot what I was doing and strained soup because I was on autopilot for pasta."
Jason barked a laugh, unable to hold himself back, and looked at me with a grin and a raised eyebrow.
"Really?" I nodded. "That's pathetic."
I just shrugged. "Yeah. But at least there's not a lot of places to go but up, after that."
"I guess so."
Jason and I chatted as he cooked and I watched, keeping our voices low so Dick could sleep—although, after the night he'd had, he'd probably sleep through a train in our living room. After breakfast, Jason decided to go down for a nap on the couch, passing out almost as soon as we'd put the last few dishes in the sink. I just smiled, threw a blanket over him, and wandered back into the bedroom to find Dick.
It was late enough in the morning now that my boyfriend was officially up and about, stretching by the bed with his hair still a little messed up from sleeping. I grinned and flopped down against the headboard as he crossed the room to the dresser to pull out clothes.
"How's Jaybird?" he asked. "Still a good cook?"
"Still a great cook. And he's good. He seems a little wiped out from patrols and stuff, though. He's taking a nap on the couch right now."
Dick smiled and shook his head. "I get up and he goes to sleep. Typical."
"Clearly he's avoiding you."
"Clearly."
Dick and I shared a smile, and then he sighed.
"I'm going to take a shower. Hopefully Jason will be up by the time I'm out, because I actually have things to do today."
I smiled, shifting on the bed to pull the covers over myself. "I'm sure you can be quiet if he's not. Wake me up when you're out of the shower, okay? A post-breakfast nap sounds too good to resist right now."
My boyfriend laughed. "Alright, will do. I'll wake you and Jason up when I'm out."
"Mhm. Good luck with him."
"Thanks, I'm gonna need it."
I closed my eyes, getting comfortable and ready for my nap, but before I drifted off I heard Dick's shuffling footsteps crossing the room to stand by my side of the bed. A second later, he sat down next to me, the bed dipping under his weight. I cracked an eye open to squint at him.
"What do you want?"
He grinned at me and chuckled.
"Don't worry, I'm not going to interfere with your nap. I just... I wanted to say how much I appreciate you, and how good you are with my family. They mean the world to me, but I know having vigilantes dropping in at all hours of the day and night can be a little much to deal with. So thank you for being so wonderful about it, and about them."
I sighed, sitting all the way up and propping myself up on my hands to look Dick in the eye.
"Dick, I love you. And I love your family. Sure, it took a little getting used to some of the vigilante stuff, but the longer I know them the more I love them. You don't have to thank me for anything. They're my family too."
Dick absolutely beamed at me, wrapping one arm around my back and pulling me in for a kiss. I immediately reciprocated, tangling one hand in the hair at the nape of his neck. I smiled into the kiss and a moment later, Dick deepened it. We were right on the edge of escalating into something more, but both thought better of it at the last moment.
"I should take a shower," he said, still looking a little reluctant as he pulled away.
"Yeah, and you should stop interrupting my nap."
Dick snorted, rolling his eyes as he finally stood and headed for the bathroom. I grinned after him as he went, flopping back down onto my pillow only as Dick closed the bathroom door.
I took a deep breath and sighed, a smile on my face, as I closed my eyes for the second time. I heard the water start in the bathroom, and a faint smell of breakfast still hung in the air. I was surrounded by people I loved dearly, and who loved me right back. No matter the scare Jason had given me when he'd shown up, I couldn't ask for a better start to my morning than this.

Friday the 13th Mishaps (HC)
Fandom: Twisted Wonderland
Pairing: None. Featuring Savanaclaw, Diasomnia, Heartslabyul, Octavinelle.
Warning: None
———————————————
Leona
While walking to his usual nap stop, Leona steps on a black cat's tail, causing him to trip and faceplant into the ground. Not even cats are on his side today. He makes a mental note to stay away from Lucius.
When he finally falls asleep, he is woken up by the sound of students loudly talking about different Friday the 13th superstitions. He finds another napping spot, and the same happens.
Leona accidentally knocks over a mirror in Savanaclaw, and it shatters. Everyone around him panics, thinking he caused dorm-wide bad luck. Even though he brushes it off as if it's nothing, Leona is secretly on edge the entire day.
His dorm members refuse to train with him, and this annoys him to no end. Turns out the Savanaclaw students are superstitious and refuse to do anything risky out of fear of bad luck. If NRC had a competition for the most superstitious dorm, Savanclaw would take the crown - much to Leona's dismay.
Ruggie
Ruggie tries to prank his students into thinking they have bad luck because of the 13th, but all his pranks backfire. From tripping over his own trap to accidentally drenching himself in a bucket of pain, Ruggie spends most of the morning getting a taste of his own mischief.
In the afternoon, he tries to swipe a sandwich from the cafeteria but accidentally knocks over a massive salt jar. The whole cafeteria gasps, knowing it's bad luck. Ruggie cleans up the salt while tossing salt over his shoulder for damage control, causing another mess.
The same black cat that tripped Leona ends up following Ruggie everywhere. Despite his attempts to run away from it, the cat tails him. The other students think he is a bad luck magnet and stay away from him. But Ruggie ends up befriending the cat.
Jack
Jack goes out of his way to avoid anything that could cause him bad luck, so no stepping on cracks on the ground, steering clear of ladders, and staying FAR away from mirrors.
Despite his best efforts to avoid ladders, he ends up walking under one. He tries to run away from the ladder but accidentally knocks it over and gets bonked by it.
He walks into the cafeteria, not knowing what is going on. While throwing salt over his shoulder, Ruggie ends up throwing some onto Jack's face. The wolf gets a sneezing fit, which refuses to go away for almost an hour.
At the end of the day, Jack becomes so paranoid that he ends up tripping over the black cat and runs face-first into a tree. The redness on his face stays for a few days, and some of the students tease him about it.
Malleus
With his naturally gothic and mysterious vibes, the students label him as an ambassador of Friday the 13th. Everywhere he goes, lights flicker, and doors ominously creak open. Malleus is confused by the students acting even more fearfully than usual.
For some reason, every time Malleus gets sad or frustrated, a random lightning strike sparks in the distance. He doesn't notice this, but the rest of NRC is terrified. Mixed with the rumors of the day, everyone thinks Malleus is cursed for the day.
Malleus tries to gift his classmates bouquets of black roses - it's his idea of being nice, but students take it as a bad omen. They freak out and run away, leaving Malleus baffled and sad. He just can't understand what is going on. Someone please explain it to him.
Lilia
Lilia LOVES Friday the 13th. He purposely spreads misinformation about superstitions to mess with everyone. He told one freaked-out student that if they eat garlic and hop on one foot, they can avoid bad luck for the day. Coincidentally, Cater was in the area and took a video of the student. Now, the video is viral, and Lilia is delighted.
To scare some unsuspecting students, Lilia uses his magic to make chairs move on their own, creates eerie whispers that echo through empty halls, and causes books to fly off shelves. Most students are convinced that NRC is more haunted on Friday the 13th.
Every mirror in Diasomnia is broken. The students in the dorm are too scared to go there, and there is a huge mess. No one knows what is going on, but Malleus is glaring at Lilia, who looks as innocent as a sleeping baby.
Silver
Silver tries his best to stay alert but keeps dozing off at the worst moments possible. He sleeps through Lilia's pranks and dodges every bad luck that comes his way purely out of luck. Every time something unluck is about to happen, he mysteriously dozes off and avoids harm.
He unintentionally startles students who find him in the strangest locations, like inside closets and behind curtains, dozing off. At one point, he fell asleep in an empty hallway in NRC's main building. His snores sounded distorted in the vast hallway; now, that hallway is labeled as one of the most haunted places in NRC.
Being an animal magnet, Silver has a flock of black cats following him. They curl up next to him while he is napping, and students who find the scene are freaked out. Meanwhile, Silver just pets them because he doesn't know the superstitions of the day.
Sebek
Since the moment he learns about the cursed day, Sebek remains on high alert. No bad luck will befall his young master on his watch. He spends the entire day hovering over Malleus, overreacting at everything he thinks can cause the prince a threat. At one point, Malleus runs away and keeps hiding from Sebek for the rest of the day.
He ends up becoming Lilia's biggest prank target, but intentionally. Lilia thinks Sebek is cursed because he somehow walks into all of Lilia's traps while searching for Malleus.
On top of that, Sebek keeps tripping over random objects, spilling things, and attracting minor misfortunes all day. By the time he finds Malleus at the end of the day, Sebek is barely awake as he has no more energy left.
Riddle
Riddle is determined to maintain order on the 13th. Everyone must follow the rules perfectly to avoid any potential mishaps, but Friday the 13th superstitions have everyone on edge. Things end up opposite, and everyone keeps unintentionally breaking Riddle’s rules. Riddle spends most of the day collaring half the dorm.
If he sees any cracks on the ground, he will use magic to seal it. Ladders, salt, and black cats are banned from Heartslabyul until the next day. Deuce is responsible for removing the ladders, Trey the salt, Cater monitoring the rules, and Ace the cats.
During the afternoon, a black cat sneaks into the dorm, causing Riddle to freak out and try to catch it. The chaos escalates as students accidentally spill tea, knock over frames, and trip on chairs. By the time Ace chases the cat out of the dorm, it feels like a hurricane has come through the interior of the Heartslabyul.
Cater
Cater goes all out on social media, documenting every little superstition-related mishap around the campus. He posts videos of students avoiding cracks, breaking mirrors, and freaking out over black cats, using the hashtag #Friday13thVibes. His biggest achievement is filming Lilia's pranks.
While trying to film some of the videos in Heartslabyul, Cater breaks a few mirrors but blames it on other students. That is the only way he avoids getting collared by Riddle. However, Cater is worried about seven years of bad luck. It doesn't exist, right?
Cater documents the entire chase of the cat through Heartslabyul, and it goes viral. The other dorms find a kick out of it, and in turn, Riddle collars him. All the effort that Cater put into avoiding getting into trouble ends up in vain. Trey can't stop laughing.
Trey
One of the only students who avoids getting collared by Riddle. But Trey has bad luck in his cooking. He forgets ingredients, burns food, accidentally uses salt instead of sugar, sugar instead of salt, and keeps knocking food off the kitchen counters.
Ace tries to prank him as well by switching out strawberries for Riddle's tart with other fruits he disguised as strawberries. Luckily for Trey, some hungry students secretly eat the 'strawberry' tart and compliment him for his fruit tart. He pretends he never made the strawberry tart for Riddle and actually made a fruit tart for the students. :)
Trey tries to avoid every broken mirror, but because of the chaos, he ends up coming across at least one shattered mirror in every hallway. It's like the universe is laying a trap for him. He uses his broom to fly around, at least when Riddle is not around.
Ace
He wants to use the day to prank Deuce and tries to put fake spiders on his bed. Unfortunately, real spiders crawl out of his spider props bag, and Ace screams in fear. Riddle catches him red-handed, and Ace is the first victim of OFF WITH YOUR HEAD.
Ace even tries to disprove the 13th nonsense by walking directly under a ladder while spilling salt and stepping on a crack. Moments later, a paint bucket falls right on his head. After Riddle's OFF WITH YOUR HEAD, Ace's "It was a coincidence" is the most-heard phrase in Heartslabyul.
Since Ace wasn't able to catch the cat in time, and Deuce had an excuse that he was helping Riddle clean out another mess, Riddle gave Ace extra punishment. Now, the redhead thinks he is cursed for real.
Deuce
He is more paranoid than he wants to admit. He tries to follow all of the rules, but his paranoia gets in the way, resulting in countless mishaps. Deuce breaks the highest number of rules, but Trey covers for him as the senior thinks the freshman has bad luck for real.
Turns out that the black cat didn't want to leave Heartslabyul because it ended up liking Deuce and wanted to follow him around everywhere.
Ace figured this out, and to get he cat off Heartslabyul's campus, he carried Deuce away and tossed him elsewhere. The cat happily followed. As Deuce sat confused on the ground, the black cat curled up on his lap and took a nap.
Azul
Azul spends the entire day hyper-focused on avoiding superstitions that could bring bad luck. He creates a list of potentially unlucky things to avoid and even casts protective spells around the Mostro Lounge to ensure nothing goes wrong. But it doesn't work.
Every contract he tries to make on Friday the 13th goes hilariously wrong. Either his pen runs out of ink mid-signature, the pen squirts ink on his face, the terms get mixed up, or the client gets cold feet for random reasons. Azul tries to keep his cool, but he's losing it internally.
In the evening, he steps into Mostro Lounge and sees exhausted students with black cats following them everywhere. Azul freaks out and decides to spend the rest of the day locked in his office, staring blankly at the wall. Nothing can go wrong now.
Jade
Jade is not affected by the superstitions of the 13th, but he secretly enjoys watching the rest of the dorm worry. He starts mysterious rumors about things like "cursed objects" in the Mostro Lounge or the existence of a haunted corridor. Then, he casually watches as students try to avoid these "cursed" areas and freak out about them.
He also switches items around, making students think they are losing things to bad luck. He even arranges for small, harmless accidents - like books falling off shelves - and then watches with a smirk as the students panic.
But when Jade returns to his room in the evening, he notices his healthiest terrariums in ruins - withered plants, dying for no reason, and pest-infested. This makes him question the 13th, but he ultimately rides it odd as someone pranked him. If he finds the person who ruined his dear terrariums... :)
Floyd
Floyd thrives on the chaos of Friday the 13th. He finds the students' paranoia and bad luck mishaps hilarious and adds fuel to the fire. He jumps out from behind corners to scare people, knocks on doors ominously, and makes mysterious sounds in the Mostro Lounge to freak out the customers.
When he finds out that Azul is freaked out, he purposely breaks things. He brings out a random ladder and walks under it, and he breaks mirrors with a loud OOPS. Azul eventually starts locking things up to keep Floyd from causing more damage.
Azul doesn't know that Floyd nearly broke the glass wall between Mostro Lounge and the ocean. He didn't care think that humans and beastmen couldn't breathe underwater. But Jade stops him in time. Octavinelle, its students, and the guests in the lounge avoided a big catastrophe.

A Fond Farewell

With Rooster Teeth beginning its draw down, an era has truly passed. The company has lasted more than two decades. 18 (soon 19) seasons, five mini-series, and cameos and references in Halo itself for Red vs Blue. 9 volumes alongside two movies, a chibi series, Ice Queendom, and its own games for RWBY. And so much more beyond that, RT Shorts, podcasts, Achievement Hunter, The Slow Mo Guys, and on and on. That’s a lot, especially for a little startup launching off a web series. I was listening to “This Isn’t Goodbye, It’s See You Later” by Richie Branson while I was making this little memorial post. It’s a song made for another Rooster Teeth show, Camp Camp, and I have to say it’s some very appropriate music for this moment.
The day the news dropped, I wrote up a little comment in response to Rooster Teeth beginning its closing down, and I thought I’d share some of it here. I grew up with Rooster Teeth, a bit of a cheesy line I know, but it’s true for a lot of us. I was just a little kid way back in the early 2000’s, a kid that liked Halo (a game I didn’t even own for a long time, but played at a friend’s house), and was just getting curious about what I could find about it on YouTube. And that brought me into the world of music videos and skits and montages made for that little game I liked.
From there, I discovered a small web series called Red vs. Blue. I’d sneak onto my folk’s computer to watch it since they didn’t appreciate the language, and in doing so I dipped my toes into the wide world of the internet for the first time. As I got older, I eventually hopped onto Reddit for its discussion threads of Rooster Teeth’s latest show, RWBY. I began my first in-depth fandom interactions, speculating about the show, enjoying the flood of fanart, even got into fanfics about RWBY (those fics have had their own amazing evolution alongside the show) and to this day it’s the fandom I’ve followed and bookmarked the most fics from. All the while I was making friends and bonding with people through the community this company and its shows have created.
Watching the shows and people grow over time was, looking back on it, just like watching myself grow. I was never really a social media/internet kind of guy, until it came to Rooster Teeth. The shows, shorts, podcasts, it all opened up a whole new world for me. It’s sad to see it coming to a close, and I hope it gets picked up in the future. But I’m happy, too, that it’s left so much behind, and had such an impact on me. It’s left me with so many good memories. Rooster Teeth, its shows, those that created and worked on it, and above all the community around it will always have a special place in my heart.
So, I bid a fond farewell to Rooster Teeth and its crew, and anyone who may drift away from the fandom in time. I wish you all the best.

“don’t you think,” you scrambled to your feet, but caught yourself with a lunge before picking your hands out of the dust to charge at your opponent with vigorous speed. the sensor in your gloves triggered your metal claws to come out and you attacked with the intent to mark the masked man—not to wound, but to warn him off. “we would make a great couple? i’d happily sell my persona if it meant that ‘the black cat and the mysterious nightwing’ gets turned into a film and made billions at the box office.”
“you know,” nightwing blocked every swipe of your claws except for one to the face—a nick. the fresh cut on his cheek stung when it caught the cold breeze, but he’s too quick on his feet for you to notice the blood. he then circled around you with his escrima sticks drawn out, huffing. like your opponent, you followed back in his steps in defense, facing him as your senses were on high-alert from the advent of his signature weapons. the last time you were tased with them, you were sent to the ground, feeling tremors days later—they weren’t exactly the highlight of your interactions with him. “i’m the one bringing the audience in, right? flip the order of our names and it’s a maybe!”
“and haven’t i told you that i’m taken?” he continued, stalking you in a circle like a predator with its prey—an eagle with its cat.
“huh...” you thought to yourself out loud, eyeing the rooftop environment around you for a brief moment. cardboard boxes, plastic bags, cigarette butts, candy wrappers—nothing you could use to your advantage. “never thought you’d be the loyal type.”
“what?! you’re kidding, right?” nightwing interrupted the banter by charging at you again and you leaped to the side to dodge the first, but your back eventually caught the stick when he swung his right arm. he hopped back in defense, watching you gather yourself in a hunch, groaning.
“I mean, fuck-“ you tasted the wind that was knocked out of you, chapped and dry, and it all made the taste of metal more profound in your mouth. “with that body? no way. i can only imagine what’s underneath.”
“I’m flattered!” as he rushed towards you, nightwing swung a powerful right, a heavy grunt paired alongside. you evaded with a flip and another with an arm-block, but the impact knocked you back onto the concrete floor. your padded uniform took the brunt of the contact, but not your exhaustion. you were almost at your limit, panting and grunting heavily as you continued to dodge his onslaught of thwicks and whams at your chest and sides, beat after beat to the best of your ability. he was fast, always been faster than you, and he showed no signs of slowing.
“you have no reason even stealing from bruce wayne. come on,” the man meandered towards you, arrogance in every step while he stretched the tight muscles in his arms and back. “give it up. i won’t tell him, and i’ll even get you off scot-free.”
“you’re too handsome for me to send you to jail.” he said, half-earnestly.
despite assuming full responsibility of blüdhaven, and occasionally, gotham, his personality never diverged from his regular civilian-self: confident, playful, optimistic, and much more, but that was what you loved most about dick grayson. he was always himself.
you watched him slowly approach, elbows scuffed and planted to the ground as it supported your bruised body. he lent a hand down to you—gentlemanly.
“hm… so you do find me handsome.” you grasped his hand and he began to pull you up, naive and trusting. “i got a chance then?”
but you pulled him downwards instead, met your foot with his gut, and one strong kick tumbled him to the floor. “i’m still up for you getting me off, though!”
the distance between the two of you was larger than expected. he was going to chase after you no matter what—he’s done it before. the mental clock inside of your head was ticking as you watched him writhe, catching his breath. worry ignited, but it ticked— continue ticking until he found his footing, and you made a run for the ledge. your thrown backpack that harbored the stolen item resided in the nearest corner and your arm extended, reaching whatever you could grasp onto in midst of your flee.
but your palm held nothing—only cold warmth when you gathered air into a tight fist—as nightwing rammed you onto the floor with all of his body weight, skidding you near the ledge. your head hung off the edge as you blindly bore his swings to your hips and waist with a groan louder than the next, a bruise stacked on top of another. “fuck!”
the familiarity of gotham became foreign as half of your body dangled off the ledge—apartment buildings emerged from skies and the moon rose from seas—and it didn’t help that your opponent was weakening you with every guttural punch, drawing out hard groans from your throat.
“one last chance, cat. this has been fun and all, but i’m kind of getting sick of your schtick.” nightwing grabbed you by the shoulders and yanked you back up.
but something in the wind caught your eye—something black, something familiar. you turned your head, groaning when the muscles in your neck have stiffened in the mere moments it vacationed on the ledge, and a gasped left your hot throat.
your mask.
“is that a yes?!” dick shouted, hands still clutched onto your shoulders while your cheek was still turned toward him, watching the mask ride the wind through gotham.
the air cooled your exposed skin, bruises and cuts melting with every breeze, and you were hesitant to turn, to respond. but dick was frustrated now and began pressing a knee to your bruised gut to warrant a glance of any kind—he can tell you were close to surrendering.
you do.
you bit back a pained scream and turned towards him; nightwing, dick, your boyfriend of two years. the frustration and annoyance in his face soon wrinkled into shock, confusion, then betrayal.
but he feigned normalcy; you could tell by the waver in his voice and the twisting of expressions between artificial calmness and deception.
“what- what is this?” he stepped back once he let you go, lying. “you’re just a regular dude-“
“i can explain,“ you coughed out, blinking the etched image of dick’s betrayal away—a desperate attempt. there was no lying your way out of this anymore. years of being untruthful regarding the wounds he unknowingly left on you, nights you disappeared into; it has all accumulated into this very moment—karma. “dick-“
“no-“ dick twitched at the sound of his name. it resounded from a familiar voice—a voice that he would yearn to hear every morning and night, a voice that he has loved since day one, a voice that wouldn’t have held secrets. “you knew? you fucking knew about me—about all of this the whole time?! what the fuck, y/n?”
“dick, I never meant for it to get this far.” you said, getting up with sluggish movements. “i was just- fuck, uh.” you stammered and your thoughts clouded.
what were you doing this for? it started off with wanting vengeance for your mother, then it amassed into wealth, then… then?
what else was there left in this second life of yours that you needed to fulfill?
“seriously? cat got your tongue, or what?” he walked towards you, pointing one of his sticks at you, intimidating. “you can’t even give me a reason?”
“calm down, okay? i can’t exactly think when you probably broke my fucking ribs-“ you spat bitterly. not the best time to be annoyed at him, but you’ve always been quick to anger.
“wow, okay… maybe, i don’t know—if you would’ve told me about all of this earlier then we wouldn’t be in this position right now!“ dick’s powerful voice shouted, and you flinched when he pressed his weapon to your chest.
“okay- why are you even angry about this? it’s not like i robbed you!” you shouted back, leaning your chest forward until the butt of it pressed into your bruise. it was painful, but your jaw tightened to hold your anger.
“you kinda did considering it’s from the manor i grew up in.“ he scoffed, irritating you further with multiple pokes to your chest. “you lied to me, stole from my family. you seriously think that’s okay? after everything i told you?”
you didn’t want to admit it, but he was right. though it was only a coincidence that you and dick happened to fall in love; you kept this charade up and toyed with his alter-ego despite knowing who he was. stealing from a billionaire sounded great on paper—if only you never knew dick grayson, but his alias instead.
“I trusted you.” his voice softened—hurt and disappointed—as he stared into your eyes, and you could feel guilt swimming in your gut. “i don’t even know if this is all real—us, y/n.”
but you’ve never been one to face the consequences of your own action.
“here,” you limped to fetch your backpack, and dick instinctively followed you in case you were to escape again. “take it.” you handed a jewelry box to dick. the valuable wasn’t worth it anymore, even if it meant it would make you a millionaire. right now, all you wanted to do was go home and sleep your injuries off.
maybe even rethink your purpose on earth.
“so, just like that?” dick’s voice began to hollow as you walked away from him, nearing the ledge. “no apologies? not even going to look at me?”
“that’s the plan.” you muttered to yourself defeated, strapping yourself to your backpack, and before dick could say another word, parachuted yourself into the night. “always the plan.”
Tumblr media
that was all you could think about as you writhed on the ground, dazed from the multiple beatings to your head and body.
it was a burglary gone wrong. since you’ve last seen dick, you became sloppy. heists were done with aimless drive; not for your own gain, but out of pure spite because you’ve lost the best thing you had in your life, all because you were stubborn—a coward.
stubbornness has done nothing but led you into a downward spiral of life, and now, you were at its very last step. you thought you broke that spiral by giving back to the community—donating to charities that you were passionate about, that needed the wealth that you profited off the most.
but instead, you envisioned yourself banging on heaven’s door, gasping and screaming in pain as you begged.
a wheeze was knocked out of you once more when you took another crowbar to the gut. the taste of metal in your mouth became your comfort—you weren’t dead yet. close—soon.
you moved, but barely, crawling to a void you were sure you’d be left dead at, with nobody to witness the final breath you would draw. it was an amusing image for the henchmen. the trauma to your head muffled the demonic laughter of the predator, but it induced another cycle of ringing in your ears—you whimpered. you could feel yourself breaking into tears at any moment—if you even had the strength to.
when the henchmen pushed his heel onto your broken hand—hard—you knew it was over. excruciating pain sent your body into tremors and you halted to break out into a cowardly sob.
your begs for him to stop fell on empty ears and he only dug deeper, until you could both hear a snap—a wail.
heaviness slowly fell on your eyelids and you became numb, lolling your head to the side for comfort as a sudden relief on your hands and body washed over you. pain throbbed in silence, soft whimpers like yours, and it would become your lullaby as you mindlessly watched—half-lidded—a shadow in pursuit of vengeance. it was a recognizable thrill upon memorizing the swing of his arms, the dance of his feet as it dodged, flipping and twirling, until it was victorious.
you expected a warrior, running to you with triumph, present to reclaim its prize. but instead, you were met with panic, heavy anxiety as you were lifted off the ground and immediately cradled into a pair of familiar strong arms.
“you’re okay,” dick was disturbed, anxious in every motion of his hand, but he mustered the courage to gather you close, sprinting far from your death bed. you could only respond in hums, weakly curling into the warmth you longed for as the breeze cooled your injuries.
“you’re going to be okay.”

Steve was asleep at the counter.
Again.
Robin placed another VHS precariously on the top of the pile surrounding him, making sure to adjust it so it wouldn’t fall. A copy of Secret Admirer had toppled down half a dozen boxes when she placed it without care earlier, and Steve had almost woken up just from the sound. She had worked her way through all of the romantic comedy returns and was halfway through the horrors already, and the pile was up to Steve’s waist.
Her working theory was that she would be able to get all the way through the action movies before Steve was completely covered in tapes.
Part of her wanted to feel at least a little bad for fucking with him every single time he fell asleep. After all it wasn’t like Robin hadn’t fallen asleep on the job herself once or twice, and Family Video wasn’t exactly the hardest job in the world. Now that they lived in a veritable ghost town, the store was lucky to get even a handful of patrons every day.
Apart from her own boredom, there wasn’t really any reason to mess with him or try to wake him up.
But there lay the crux of the problem. Robin and Steve had gotten their jobs as one so they could spend time together. Not so Robin could get stuck watching her best friend drool on the counter she would inevitably be forced to clean before they closed tonight.
So, tape fort.
Robin’s theories were almost immediately dashed though, because just as she placed her fourth copy of Rosemary’s Baby down, Steve stretched out his arms, knocking directly into the wall in front of him and bringing that entire cluster of VHS cases down on his head.
“Ow! What! Why?!” Steve shouted, jerking upwards, startling as the rest of the tapes surrounding him began to tumble to the floor.
Robin snickered to herself as she watched the melee, hopping up onto the counter next to where he had been lying his head and beginning to gather up the failed remnants of her experiment.
“Good morning Dingus,” She sang, lightly tapping him on the top of the head with Ghostbusters, “Did you have a good rest?”
“Robin,” Steve groaned, covering his face with his hands and heaving an absolutely ginormous sigh, “Why?”
“Hey, this is your fault,” Robin protested, putting the stack of tapes to the side and sliding to the floor to start grabbing the rest.
“My fault?” Steve repeated, sliding his fingers away from his eyes so he could glare at her while still hiding his face.
“This is the fifth time you’ve fallen asleep on me this week, Dingus,” Robin said, giving him a look as she waved a VHS around her head, “Look at this place. Look at how boring it is. I need enrichment, I’m like a tiger in a zoo.”
Steve lowered his hands, raising a brow and silently judging her for a second before grumbling and joining her on the ground.
“What? Was making paper clip crowns and hiding M&Ms in my pockets not enriching enough anymore?” Steve asked rhetorically, referencing the other things she had done this week during his impromptu naps as he collected the rest of the rom-coms.
“Nope.” She replied, popping the p as she stood, tapes in hand, “Five times, Stevifer. Five.”
“So?”
“So, it’s only Wednesday!” Robin shouted, walking around the counter and towards the shelves, knowing Steve would be following close behind with his own stack. “Is Eddie really still that excited about getting you in his bed every night?”
“You would be the first person to know,” Steve said, wagging his eyebrows and looking far too smug for Robin’s tastes.
That much was true. Steve told Robin everything. What he had for breakfast, any weird customers that came in while she wasn’t scheduled, the stupid things the kids said, and, to the chagrin of both Eddie and Robin, anything and everything to do with his sex life.
And god damn it did her best friends have a lot of sex.
“Okay, so it’s not Eddie keeping you up,” Robin said, a small pit beginning to form in her stomach. She had hoped it was just them fucking like bunnies and Steve needing to recharge during the mornings, but now she was pretty sure it was the other thing, and that was a lot worse.
There was no quick fix for that particular problem.
“You wanna talk about it?” Robin asked softly, turning towards her best friend and trying to be as gentle as allowed.
“Not really,” Steve said, keeping his eyes on the shelves and avoiding her gaze.
Okay, so not gentle. Trying to get Steve to open up was a weird careful tightrope walk between being gentle enough to lower down his guard, while also being firm enough that he didn’t feel like he was being treated like a child. So far Robin was the only one who managed to succeed most of the time, but even she stumbled on occasion.
“You know I don’t mind covering for you, but you can’t keep this up, Dingus,” Robin tried, nudging their shoulders together as she did, hoping that a little extra physical contact would open Steve up even more, “It’s not healthy, and they’re not worth it.”
Wrong thing to say. It was like she could physically see the walls coming back up around him.
“I’ll be fine, Robin,” Steve said, the forced nonchalance in his tone hurting her almost as much as it was definitely hurting him.
“You’re not sleeping again,” She stated plainly, putting it out there for both of them to see. Steve flinched at her words as if she had physically struck him.
“I’m just…still adjusting,” He tried.
Adjusting was still figuring out how the oven worked at Eddie’s new trailer, or trying to find the best routine for sharing the bathroom in the morning. Adjusting was planning work schedules, learning how to live together, becoming used to each other's rhythms.
Whatever was happening here wasn’t adjusting.
“Steve, It’s been almost a month since…” Robin started, trailing off as she tried to find the right words to help him.
Steve already had them.
“Since what, Robin? Since my parents kicked me out?” Steve interrupted, his voice hard and angry as he forced himself to meet her eyes, as if challenging her to try and find a kinder way to say it.
That wasn’t a challenge she was planning to take on. There was no making this better.
“Yeah, since your parents kicked you out,” She repeated, refusing to meet his level of emotion, knowing that would only make Steve even angrier. Sure enough he pushed away from her, stalking over to the counter and furiously punching returns into the computer, a storm cloud of rage swirling around him.
“Steve-”
“God Robin, will you just drop it?!” Steve snapped.
Robin leaned ever so slightly back at his sudden shift and Steve let his eyes slip shut, hanging his head low and taking a slow deep breath. The anger drained from his face, leaving behind only barely there frustration, and a longing that his parents didn’t fucking deserve from a son that was far too good for them.
It wasn’t exactly a shock when Richard and Diane showed up and told their son to pack his shit and leave, but that didn’t make it any less painful for Steve. Robin had never had any faith in them, but for some reason Steve did. He expected his parents to love him just as much as he loved them, and he had deluded himself into thinking that they had only ever done the things they did to try and make him better.
Letting go of that couldn’t be easy, but it was also one of the few things about Steve that Robin felt she would probably never fully understand.
“Please.” Steve whispered, Robin’s heart breaking at the pain in his voice, “I just don’t wanna talk about it, Bobbin.”
Rather than answering she rounded the counter, pressing her body into his side and leaning her head against his shoulder. Steve adjusted to fit her automatically, two becoming one as she let Steve breathe into the pain instead of ignore it.
“Were you at least having a good dream?” Robin asked, her voice slightly muffled by the soft sweater Steve was wearing, wishing she had a way to help him.
“Oh yeah, it was great,” He said with a soft laugh, “I was lying back on a mountain of pillows while Eddie was using his massive thick-”
“Finish that sentence and I’ll be forced to smother you next time you fall asleep at work,” Robin groaned, sticking her tongue out and gagging as she pushed Steve away from her. She hammed it up for extra effect, but she couldn’t hide the smile on her lips as she listened to Steve’s laughter.
He hadn’t laughed as much in the last few weeks, and Robin hadn’t realized how much she missed the sound. It reminded her of everything good, all the stuff they hadn’t really been able to do since he moved in with Eddie. Burning breakfast together, dancing around the house in their socks, even trying to muffle their giggles in her bed so they wouldn’t wake her parents, looking through the skylight that was above her bed at the stars…
Huh. Maybe she did have an idea of how to help.
“Now that you’re awake, I’m going to take my break,” Robin said in a faux casual tone, stretching and trying to hide the Cheshire cat grin overtaking her face.
“You built a tape fort around me because you were annoyed I fell asleep and you were alone, so the first thing you do when I wake up is go hide in the back alone?” Steve complained, turning back to the computer and restarting the returns he had begun.
“Love you too,” Robin said, pecking his cheek as she practically skipped towards the breakroom. She closed and locked the door, pressing her ear to it for a second just to make sure Steve wasn’t eavesdropping before almost bolting over to the phone in the corner, punching in the number for the Thatcher’s Tires and bouncing in place as she listened to the dial tone.
This was a great idea. One of her best.
“Hey Pete, it’s Robin. Can you put Eddie on the phone?”
Part two is coming tomorrow!! If you want to be tagged say it in a reblog!!

one thing i'm a bit worried about as we got into season 8 is that there are a lot of fans talking about buddie like it's an inevitability and saying things like "buddie canon confirmed" because of the bts stuff we've seen.
it feels like people are setting themselves up for being disappointed and mad if buddie doesn't end up going canon (and honestly, it's kind of their fault for reading so much into fun little posts from the cast when the only way they'd ever confirm buddie is in an episode).
i really want buddie to be canon, but I'm keeping my expectations low because I don't want to be disappointed and it feels like people should be prepared for that potential outcome.
All right Nonny, here's the thing...
I get it. I completely understand what you are saying. I have been in the 911 fandom since season 1 (not so much on Tumblr) and when season 2 happened I hopped onto the Buddie train (on Tumblr).
I have been there, season after season after season. I saw people building up a lot of hope only for that hope to end up in disappointment. And I felt some of that disappointment as well. Although I have to admit I was always on the sidelines. I never really thought it would ever go canon. I hoped for it, but I had very low expectations.
After all, both men were canonically straight. Even though we could all see the queer-coding, fundamentally nothing ever changed. Buddie got closer than ever, but they still had girlfriends and relationships.
So yeah, I didn't have high expectations and I was happy just chilling in my little Buddie corner, speculating and reading/writing fan fic. Just genuinly having a good time.
But then season 7 happened. The show got cancelled by FOX at the end of season 6 and ABC picked it up. The first thing ABC did was put Ryan and Oliver front and center, having them freely talk about Buddie. I couldn't believe my eyes when these interviews happened. Articles were written, not just by smaller click bait sites, but actual reputable magazine sites. I watched all of this with wide eyes, not sure what to think of it. 'Would they? Could they?'
Then another bomb went off when 7x04 happened and Buck came out as bisexual. I was floored. For the first time in 6 seasons, I started entertaining the idea that the show might just go there. If they made Buck bisexual, surely they wouldn't ignore the highly popular Buddie aspect of it? Would they?
Let's not get into the whole Tommy debacle that happened afterwards. Because in the end it's not important for this answer. Tommy has been set up as a narrative device to help Buck out of the closet. He isn't even a factor in the overspanning Buddie arc we've seen progressing over 6 seasons.
I also want to add that it's crazy that we know for sure that it was actually supposed to be Eddie who would come out of the closet (first).
The end of season 7 gave us an Eddie who told Kim that he is broken and he can't be fixed. Chris left and now he's all alone. No more Chris, Marisol or any other distractions. He is on his own now. Lots of time to reflect upon his life and relationships. His arc will be built around his emotional journey and his personal growth. And we all know who will be by his side for all of it. It's a given at this point.
Then we have Ryan doing these interviews, saying things like:
“The character has been established now, we kind of know what to expect with the vibe. Now it’s just kind of falling back in old rhythm. The only thing different now is where the character’s head is at and where he is going.”
Next to that we have new looks for both Ryan and Oliver. A new beginning perhaps? That moustache has some clear queer symbolism attached to it as well. Something we cannot ignore, because the show knows that its fans aren't stupid and they also know that they have a solid queer fanbase.
And yes, Ryan and Oliver seem happy and relaxed on set these days, while especially Oliver didn't seem all that happy at the end of season 7. In fact, Oliver has completely ignored the Tommy aspect of his new 'canon' relationship. He speaks more about Buck's bi journey and ignores the Tommy factor as much as possible.
So Nonny, if you read all of the above information (and I'm sure I forgot a bunch of stuff) how can you not become more hopeful and a lot more positive that there is a high chance of Buddie happening in season 8?
I'm all for protecting yourself from possible disappointment, but when you are constantly wrapping yourself into a protective cocoon so you don't get hurt in the process, you might just miss the best (and most fun) part of being a shipper: the experience of your slow-burn ship finally becoming canon.
I admit it! I too strongly believe Buddie might just happen in season 8. I'm almost completely sure.
And yes, if Buddie doesn't happen, there will be disappointment and there will be people who choose to express that disappointment through anger. But honestly?
They would kinda have a point.
Because no, it wouldn't be the fans' own fault for getting their hopes up if Buddie doesn't happen. During previous seasons I would have said 'yes', but not now. Not anymore. Now I would definitely say that they are right. It's the show itself that has gotten our hopes up by the consistent Buddie promo, the many Buddie scenes, the whole Eddie being in every part of the BT arc thing, the bts and all the other things they've thrown at us. They know exactly what they are doing. They are hyping Buddie up to the max.
I don't actually believe there will be disappointment though. This is truly the first season where I have been pretty confident that Buddie is in the works. I've never had that feeling before and I've been here forever.
Now that being said, complete certainty doesn't exist for a shipper. if, for some reason, Buddie doesn't happen? There will be disappointment (for me as well) and anger (for me not so much), but in the end that emotion will fade and Buddie will become just another great fandom experience with a bad ending. We've all been there before. It happens.
That is just the nature of being in fandom: 'You win some, you lose some.'
However... this time? With Buddie?
I really think we're about to win big. Sorry Nonny!

Grandpa Ackles
Summary: Y/n was enjoying her husband’s new style post Supernatural, that is until a certain pair of glasses come onto the scene. How will Jensen feel about her teasing?
Pairing: Jensen Ackles x Reader
Word Count: 1.7K+
Warnings: Language, age gap (implied), unprotected sex (don’t be silly..)
Author’s Note: This baby was born from a little razzing session I had with @winchest09 and @deanwanddamons regarding those glasses Jensen wore. It quickly turned into this mess that I forgot about in my drafts. I hope you enjoy it. As always I would love to hear your feedback xoxo Alex

The love and support of the Supernatural fandom had been the spark that helped Jensen to come out of his shell. From singing at conventions to releasing his album and everything in between. He was far more at ease now than he had been back in 2005. But the truth was she hadn’t seen him blossom more than since the series finally wrapped. From getting to grow out his hair and the relentless press junket for The Boys, he’s been getting to show off his creativity and style like never before. Most of the time she was behind him all the way, but today’s choice had her questioning the man she had married.
They were currently on set with Entertainment Weekly doing yet another interview. Y/n had followed her husband across Europe and now Los Angeles to support him in his recent endeavor. Now she found herself standing behind the cluster of monitors that showed each camera angle. Naturally, she was focused on Jensen, but not for the reason one would expect.
It was like a train wreck, something she couldn’t look away from no matter how hard she tried. Her husband had first slipped the blue-tinted glasses onto his perfect face when they were about to walk out of the dressing room. At first, she had thought they were sunglasses and she was rightfully confused about him putting them on at that moment, but he walked right onto the set with them still in place and that’s when it hit her. They were a statement piece for his outfit.
God, she loved her husband but she was seriously questioning his choices. The black-framed glasses were ever so slightly to big for his face. The lens appeared prescription strength in the way that they distorted his eyes to appear larger than reality. Sure, he wore reading glasses periodically at home but never had they made it into any sort of interview or red carpet before. Though he wouldn’t admit it to her, she knew it made him self-conscious about his age, especially considering the difference between them. So she would tell him how much she loved them, which wasn’t even the tiniest bit of a lie. Those glasses framed his face well and made him look refined. These on the other hand, well, as much as she tried to love them, it simply wasn’t happening.
The interview lasted roughly an hour before they were back in his dressing room to pack up their things. Once he had cleared out the dressing room they hopped into a car to take them back to their hotel. Y/n waited with bated breath for him to remove the glasses, but he never so much as acknowledged them. Jensen conversed politely with her until they made it back to their suite. She plopped down onto the edge of the bed, watching him as he began to unpack his bag from the day.
“Are you going to tell me why you keep looking at me like that?” He questioned finally, his one eyebrow quirking at her.
“I-” Y/n chewed on the corner of her lip while she tried to find the words. “What is with the glasses?”
“What do you mean?” Jensen crossed his eyes, playfully attempting to look at the specs without taking them off.
“Did you lose a bet…” her words trailed off, earning her a frown from her husband.
“You don’t like my glasses.” It wasn’t a question.
“I don’t… not like them,” she tried with a smile but her husband knew her better than that. Jensen crossed his arms with a warning look, asking her to tell the truth. “Okay fine, they look like a bad 70’s accessory. I’m sorry, baby, but they are not it.”
“These are Gucci,” he defended. Y/n hid her mouth behind her fingers, stifling a smile at his knee-jerk reaction to her opinion.
“I know this, and I love you, but just because you are playing, as you call him, a grandpa, doesn’t mean you need to dress like one.” Y/n made air quotes with her fingers as she talked. She knew she was digging herself a hole but damn it if she couldn’t stop talking.
“Whatever, I need to change,” he scoffed as he began undoing the buttons on his shirt. The blatant roll of his eyes told her he was over this conversation but that didn’t stop what slipped out next.
Y/n cupped her hands around her mouth and whispered, “Start with the glasses.”
Jensen froze, his eyes narrowing at his wife. She smiled at him, her tongue peeking out between her teeth. Before she could blink he darted towards her, his arms encompassing her as he tackled her into the bed.  A shriek left her mouth as the couple barreled into the plush furniture, quickly dissolving into giggles as he pinned her to the mattress.
“Careful, Jay, don’t need you breaking a hip.” Her words came out between snickers. She was quick to realize how worked up she had gotten him.
“Funny, you weren’t saying that two days ago,” Jensen encompassed her with his form, one hand on either side of where her head lay.
“Guess that was before I realized how close you might be to needing help from a little blue pill…” She let the words hang in the air, watching her husband’s jaw drop.
“You gonna regret that,” he mumbled, dropping his voice as he cocked his head.
“Promise?” Y/n bit her lip, a final challenge before Jensen dove in, capturing her lips with his own. Immediately she melted into the comforter, her hands moving to finish his job of undoing his top. Her work was distracted as the actor trailed his pillow-soft lips down her jaw and neck, using his tongue to suck the tender flesh into his mouth. A moan fell from her lips as he nipped her collarbone, the action egging him on. When she finally popped the last button, she hurriedly pushed the thin fabric from his shoulders.
Jensen sat back on his legs, working open his belt and jeans as Y/n lifted her dress over her head. He let out a low whistle, letting his eyes roam down the expanse of her body, now just in a pair of panties.
“I’m waiting, Grandpa,” she smirked, raising her arms above her head to emphasize her breasts for him.
“Damnit woman,” he grunted, now in a hurry to rid them both of their offending bottoms. Once they were both exposed to the other, Jensen leaned back over her, again capturing her lips with his own in a heated kiss. He sucked her lower lip between his teeth as his hands ran down her curves. The action set her nerves aflame, warmth amalgamating low in her belly.
In a second, his warmth was gone, and his large hands were flipping her onto her stomach. She rose to her hands and knees without a second thought, knowing that Jensen was not going to do her the courtesy of prepping her for him. The woman got no warning before her husband entered her from behind, his cock stretching her in every delicious and agonizing way. Her chin dropped to her chest as he set a grievously slow pace where she could feel every inch of him.
“Fuck, Jay. Faster, please?” The words were a breathy plea on her lips.
“What was that, baby?”
“I need more,” she reiterated. Jensen ran his fingers through her hair before gently tugging on the strands, pulling her frame up and flush against his own. His arms wrapped around her torso, the new muscles she loved so much dwarfing her body as he drove into her, faster with every thrust. His grunts were low, but deafening from their proximity to her. The sound was like music to her ears, each one helping to push her closer to the edge of oblivion.
“Look at you, so wrecked from taking me like a good girl,” Jensen breathed out, his praises earning a whimper from his lover. “Do you think you deserve to come?”
“Oh, fuck.” It was the only thing her brain could formulate at the moment. She knew this was a torture of her own creation. Y/n had pushed him to prove himself, knowing full well what would come of it, and damn it if she wasn’t regretting that now. The thing was he absolutely would deny her if she didn’t grovel. And it wouldn’t be the first time either.
“I can’t hear you.”
“Nobody can fuck me like you. My body is yours.” It was the truth and had been since that first night together so many years ago. He had thoroughly ruined her for anyone else and still to this day proves that he knows her body better than herself. “I can’t come without you.”
“It’s a start,” he murmured, his game punctuated with every thrust of his hips. His left hand traveled up to her throat, applying light pressure just above her collarbone.
“Please.” She was nowhere near above begging him for release.
“Since you asked nicely,” Jensen finally relented, using his opposite hand to press against her clit. The combination of sensations sent her over the cliff like a switch had been flipped. She squeezed her eyes shut, fighting the overwhelming sensations he continued to deliver until he too finished, rutting against her as he spilled himself inside her.
His grip against her loosened and he let her back against the hotel comforter, taking care to keep her steady on her trembling legs. Y/n rolled over onto her back, staring blankly at the ceiling as her breathing evened out. Her husband joined her, resting his head against her stomach. Mindlessly her fingers came down to run through his long blonde locks.
“Still think I need the blue pill?” He asked and she could feel him smile against her abdomen.
“Fuck you,” she huffed out a laugh.
“I think you just did.”
“Ugh, fine, you win this one, Ackles,” Y/n playfully pushed her husband from her side. “But next, time don’t expect me to cave so easily.”
“Oh?” One of his eyebrows shot up on his forehead and immediately she regretted her words. The actor was on her before she had a chance to blink, ready to prove himself as many times as it would take.

Jax's Only Weakness
Fandom - The Amazing Digital Circus
Summary - Jax decides to spend his time bugging Ragatha. Unfortunately for him, Ragatha ends up discovering a little secret about Jax and uses it against him.
Note: Sorry for the wait. I ended up getting sick for a while. But now that I've pretty much recovered, I can finally finish this fic.
Jax walked through the halls, with his usual smug grin. He likes to go around and find a way to entertain himself, usually by finding someone to pull another one of his pranks on. He WAS just gonna go mess with Gangle, given that she was the easiest target. But, on his way there, Jax couldn't help but perk up at Ragatha's door. He grinned wider and went over, deciding that he would pester his favorite ragdoll. Jax grinned, slyly, as he knocked on Ragatha's door, repeatedly. He didn't stop knocking until she answered, swinging the door open with a slightly irritated look. Ragatha stood in the doorway with her hand on her hip, definitely not amused with Jax's antics. Or the smug smile that he was giving her. "Do you have to do that, Jax?", she said as she looked up at him. Jax shrugged, nonchalantly. "Sure I do. It's polite to knock.", he said as he winked at her. Jax then, casually, pushed passed Ragatha and walked into her room, not even waiting for her to allow him in. " 'Sides, you made me give back the key to your room. So, it's not like I could've just let myself in." Jax hopped onto Ragatha's bed, messing up the neatly folded sheets, as he let himself get comfortable. He sighed before looking over at Ragatha, still wearing his smug grin. "So, anyways, how's it going, dollface?"
Ragatha groaned as she shut the door behind her, folding her arms as she walked over to Jax with a scolding look. "Jax, was there something that you wanted? Or did you really just come here to cause trouble, like you normally do?" Jax just barely managed to hold back a snicker at Ragatha's tone. It was always such a hoot when he managed to get under her skin. Well...sort of her skin. "Whaaat? Can't a guy just want to hang out with one of his best friends in the world?" Jax flashed a sly smile at her as he spoke in his casual tone. "It's not like YOU have anything better to do." Ragatha put her hands on her hips as she raised an eyebrow. "What's that supposed to mean?" Jax, casually, checked his nails, even though he was wearing gloves. "Oh, nothing. It's just that organizing your bow collection, or tryin' to make a dumb collage, ain't exactly what I'd call exhilarating, dollface." Ragatha scoffed as she scowled down at Jax, standing next to the bed. The nerve of this guy! "Well, at least, I'm not hiding any bugs inside of my friends' rooms! Jax!" Jax continued to grin as he shrugged his arms. "Hey, you don't know, for sure, that it's me. Could be Kinger. You know the guy's CRAZY about insects or whatever." Ragatha groaned as she rolled her eye. "I swear, Jax, you are just unbelievable, sometimes.", she said as she poked him in the ribs. Though, something happened that she wasn't expecting. Jax's breath hitched as he jumped, wrapping his arms around himself in alarm.
Ragatha's eye widened as she pulled her hand back. What was that? There was an awkward pause before Ragatha decided to do it again, this time getting a stifled squeak before Jax batted her hand away while glaring at her. "H-Hey! Knock it off, will ya?" Ragatha stared down at Jax with a puzzled look. The squeak. The blush on his face. The way he was protecting himself. That could only mean...
"Jax? Are you-" "No! I'm not!" Jax cut Ragatha off before she could say it. He knew what she was going to ask. But, as if he would actually let her in on one of his biggest secrets. "You didn't even let me finish.", she said as she started to smirk a bit. Jax crossed his arms as he looked off to the side. He was still blushing, slightly, as he tried to brush it off. Though, his defensive tone was giving him away. "Yeah, well, it doesn't matter. Because the answer is still no. So, why don't you just lay off it." Ragatha's smirk grew as she looked at him with a knowing look. Oh, yeah. He definitely was. "You know, Jax, it's not a very good idea to be so rude to your 'best friend in the world'. Especially, when you're so...ticklish." Jax's face fell and his blush deepened. He turned to Ragatha with a warning glare as he got even more defensive. "I-I said to lay off it, Rags! I already told you that I'm not!" Ragatha's knowing smirk grew into a cheeky smile as she got closer to him, ever so slowly. "Oh, yeah? Then how come you're getting nervous?". She then gave him another poke to his ribs, as she says, "And how come you jump every time I do this?" Jax jumped and let out another stifled sound, before wrapping his arms around himself, again, as he started trying to lean away from Ragatha. "Would you stop that?! And quit givin' me that look!" Ragatha let out a mischievous giggle as she got even closer. She makes a clawing motion with her hands as they reach out for Jax. Jax's expression became more nervous and panicked as he looked at Ragatha. "R-Rags? Don't even think about it. I'm warning you, dollface! Get away from me! I'm not-ACK!"
Jax was cut off by Ragatha pouncing and tackling him down to the bed. She then, without wasting any time, started to tickle Jax's ribs with an evil grin. "Gotcha!" Jax tried to block Ragatha's hands as he turned his head to hide his face from her. Desperately, trying not to laugh. "S-Stahap! GeHEHt off!" Ragatha smiled, mischievously, as she continued tickling. She didn't let up for a second and started to speak in a teasing tone. "Come on, Jax. You're not fooling anyone. I know you're ticklish." Jax continued to let out grunts and stifled giggles as he squirmed around, underneath Ragatha. "N-Noho, I'm nohohot!" Ragatha smirked down at Jax before she brought her hands down to squeeze Jax's sides. Jax let out a wheeze before he burst into a fit of giggles. He kicked and squirmed around, trying to push Ragatha off as all of the laughter he'd been trying to keep in, finally, floods out of him. "Ahahahahaha! Stohohohohop ihihihit! C-Cuhut it ohohohohout!" Ragatha's smirk grew as she kept squeezing and pinching along Jax's sides. She finally got the reaction she wanted, and now, she was determined to make the most of it. "See? I knew it! You're just as ticklish as I thought." Jax continued to wheeze and giggle, uncontrollably. He could feel his pride start to disappear from being taken down so easily, with a few tickles. "Gehehehet ohohoff of meheheheee! This-HAAhahahahaha-this isn't fuhuhuhuhunnhyhyhy!" Ragatha then used one hand to tickle his belly while using the other to go for his neck, all while giving him that same, victorious, grin. There was something so satisfying about getting the upper hand on the prankster bunny. "Well, now you know how WE feel about your little jokes. Not so funny when it's YOU being picked on, huh, Jax?" Jax scrunched his neck as he curled up, starting to laugh harder. His usual smug grin was all wobbly, at this point, as he kept trying to push Ragatha off, to no avail. "Gehhehehehehe! Wehehell, yohou know whahahat? At leheheheast thehehey ahahahahadd to thehehe excihihitemehehehent!"
Ragatha continued her merciless tickle onslaught. She used both hands to tickle Jax's belly now, trying to figure out his most ticklish spots. All the while, Jax continued to laugh and wheeze his heart out. He tried to roll onto his side as he curled up, hoping that it would do SOMETHING to deter Ragatha's tickles. However, it did nothing to break Ragatha's determination to render the rabbit helpless. She simply continued to tickle his belly with ease, as she smiled down at him with a teasing expression. "Does that tickle, Jax? Huh? Does it? What about right here? Are ticklish there? Or are ticklish right there? Where's your tickle spot, Jax?" The more Ragatha used that word, the more it embarrassed Jax. That, along with the ridiculous baby voice she was putting on, only made everything worse. "S-ST-STOHOHOHOHOP SAHAHAYING THAHAHAHAT!" Ragatha noticed the effect the word had in Jax, which only added to her amusement. "What? Tickle? How come? I just wanna know where you're most ticklish, Jax. And, you could just tell me so that I don't have to keep tickling you to find out." She continued to put on a teasing tone as she tickled and poked at Jax's belly, being more sporadic in order to get him all jumpy. Ragatha then decided to try something else. She turns to grab one of Jax's kicking feet, catching one of his ankles. She keeps a good hold on it as she uses her free hand to tickle Jax's foot. Jax actually yelped before falling into another fit of laughter. He pounded his fist against the bed while his other hand rested on his forehead. He tried to pull his foot free but Ragatha was, surprisingly, strong and kept a good grip on his ankle. "EEHEHEHAHAHA! RAHAHAHAHGS! IHIHI SWEHEHEAR I'M GOHOHONNA GET YOU FOHOR THIHIHIS!" Ragatha paid no mind to Jax's threat and just continued to tickle away at his foot. Now it just seemed like she was having way too much fun. "You can go right ahead, Jax. That'll only give me another reason to tickle you."
Jax was struggling to even find some way to cope with all of the tickling. It was to the point where he was tugging at one of his ears, while still laughing and giggling up a storm. Seeing this actually gave Ragatha an idea. She perked up before she suddenly stopped her tickling, releasing Jax's foot. Jax let out a breath of relief as he took this chance to try and catch his breath, thinking that Ragatha had finally decided to stop. He let himself relax as he laid there, panting and breathing heavily.
That is until he suddenly felt Ragatha grab one of his ears. Jax's eyes went wide and before he knew it, he was squealing and cackling as Ragatha began to, relentlessly, tickle his ear. "AAAEEHHEHEHAHAHA! NO-HEHEHEHAHAHAHA! RAHAHAHAGS STOHOHOHOP!", Jax cackled as he wiggled and kicked around, trying to pull away from Ragatha. Ragatha smiled, victoriously, as she continued to tickle his ear. There's the reaction she was looking for. "Ah! So, it's your ears, huh? That's good to know." She smirked as she tickled away at his ear, giggling as she watched Jax practically lose his mind. It was actually pretty endearing to see him like this. Laughing and giggling like crazy. Part of her wanted to call it...cute. Jax, meanwhile, was trying, so desperately, to get away. He felt like if Ragatha kept this up, he was probably gonna abstract. "RAHAHAHAHGS, YOU'RE KIHIHIHILLING MEHEHEHEE! HEHEHHEHEHAHAHA! STOHOP ALREADHYHYHYHY!"
Ragatha hummed as she thought about it, all while still tickling Jax's ear. "Hmmm. Well, okay. But! Only if you start being nice, for once. Say maybe...a whole week of no pranks." Jax groaned through his laughter. If it weren't for the unbearable tickling he was going through, he would've just rolled his eyes at her. But, right now, he'd agree to anything if it meant finally be granted some mercy. "HAHAAHAHAHAFFFIHIHINE! FINE, WHAHATEHEVEHEHEHER! JUHUST STOP ALREHEHEHEADY!"
Ragatha smirked as she finally let him go. Jax fell limp on the bed as he, once again, tried to catch his breath. He heaved as he rubbed the ghost tickles out of his ear. All that tickling left him sluggish and exhausted. But, he still managed to shoot Ragatha an annoyed glare. "Now who's the bully, here? That was...totally uncalled for, dollface." Ragatha stood up as she folded her arms, looking down at Jax with a smug expression. "Well, I think you, definitely, deserved that, Jax." Jax sighed as he, just barely, managed to sit up in bed. He was still trying to catch his breath, but he was slowly calming down from that relentless tickle attack. "Well, listen. I don't need everyone else finding out that I'm...y'know. So, just keep this between us, okay?" Ragatha smiled as she switched into her, usual, friendly tone. "Of course, Jax. But, I'm holding you to our deal, okay? No more pranks for a week. Otherwise, I might not keep your secret so safe." Jax huffed as he rolled his eyes, already regretting this "deal" he made. "Yeah, yeah. Whatever." Of course, he was probably gonna go back to messing with everyone, anyways.
Would he get tickled again, for it? Most likely. Would everyone else learn about his secret? Probably. Would it all be worth it, however? Absolutely.

The Prince's Tutor
Fandom: Twisted Wonderland Leona Kingscholar/GN!Reader Summary: You're hired as Cheka's personal tutor. While working, you get to know the second prince, Leona. Notes: Just something I've had partially written and wanted to finish. I guess this would be in line with my royalty AU I did with Malleus. This also exhausts the list of actually royal characters from the game (does Idia count?). Might have some errors here and there that I missed, sorry in advance! Hope you enjoy all of Cheka's cuteness! Word Count: 9,064 Warnings: Attempted kidnapping, violence, some swearing, Cheka being adorable
As much as Leona wants to ignore his nephew, he can’t turn a blind eye to the fact that a stranger is leading Cheka out of the palace. The naive brat follows without thought as he excitedly chatters. A person he’s never seen before, leads the kid by the hand while nodding enthusiastically.
“Hey!” His voice echoes in the hallways.
Cheka looks around before a smile stretches across his face. “Unca Leona!” The cub lets go of the stranger’s hand to launch himself at Leona.
Grunting as the pint sized twerp barrels into him, he pulls him off immediately by holding him by the back of his shirt and unceremoniously dropping him on the ground. “Where do you think you're goin’, brat?”
“Teacher (Y/N) is taking me to the detached wing for lessons!” The boy isn’t bothered by the rough treatment as he springs back onto his feet.
You offer Leona a tentative smile, which he does not return. “Teacher? You’re the new brat’s tutor?” He sizes you up and isn’t impressed. You're a herbivore for one thing.
Nodding, you bow politely. “Yes. I was recommended by Cheka’s old tutor.”
Though you have no reason to lie, Leona isn’t completely convinced. You look green with the enthusiastic glimmer in your eyes. However, he decides to let it be. It isn’t in his nature to pursue further than needed. As long as it doesn’t seem that you’ll be kidnapping the furball, Leona’s fine.
Waving you off, he turns around to head to his room. “Ya whatever you say.”
---
“Who was that?” you ask Cheka.
“That’s unca Leona! He’s the bestest unca!” the boy explains. His eyes sparkle with joy, and you can’t help but smile back.
You had heard of the royal family, though you hadn’t had much time to study the lineage before arriving. Seeing the beastman glare at you was a first. Cheka’s father was very welcoming and open when you met him briefly. You chalk it up as everyone having their own personalities and quickly forget the encounter. No use worrying about things that are none of your business.
Arriving at the detached wing of the palace, you enter the large library. Once you have Cheka settled, you start on the first lesson. “We’ll be learning about the history of magic. Let’s start with how magic first came to be…”
---
Later in the day, Leona happens upon you again. This time, you’re talking with his brother, or at least trying to. Farena’s too distracted with Cheka to really pay you any mind, and the expression on your face shows your growing irritation.
Leona tries to slink away without being noticed, but the fuzzball immediately catches him. It’s like his nephew can sense him from miles away. “Unca Leona!”
Hopping down from his father’s hold, Cheka runs up to him and wraps his short arms around his leg. “Let go,” Leona grunts through gritted teeth.
Cheka beams up at him as he clings on. “Today I learned about the history of magic! Did you know that magic existed a long, long time ago?!”
Rubbing his temples, he sighs, “Yes. Now, get off, brat.”
“Leona!” Farena comes over and claps him heartily on the back. “Have you met, (Y/N)?”
You give him another polite smile though he sees the way the corner of your mouth twitches downward. You’re gripping a stack of papers tight enough to wrinkle them.
He scoffs and shrugs off his brother’s hold. “Yes. Tell your son to let go of my leg.”
Farena chuckles. “He just misses his uncle!”
Coughing, you interject. “Your highness I-”
“Please call me Farena. I insist!” he interrupts, giving you a blinding smile.
Lips pressing into a thin line, you look put out. “Your highness, I do need to go over the rest of the curriculum with you. I’d like to know if you think these will be suitable for your son.”
Waving you off, his brother takes the stack of papers you hold out. “Alright, alright. I’ll look at these later tonight and let you know tomorrow.”
Sighing, you bow. “Thank you, your highness. If you’ll excuse me, I still have to finish settling in.” You give them both one last bow before making a hasty retreat.
Scratching his ear, Leona watches as you disappear. “Where’d you find this one?” he asks, a bit interested as you don’t seem dazzled by his brother like everyone else. He wonders how long that will last.
“(Y/N) comes from the Queendom of Roses. And came with high praise from many teachers and scholars.” Farena glances down at the documents. “It seems they are very meticulous.”
During the conversation, Cheka had released Leona’s leg. Climbing onto his father’s back, the boy hangs there while peeping at the documents. “What does that say, papa?”
Farena chortles, “It says a lot of work for papa tonight. I’ll see you later, brother!” Leona is finally left in peace. There’s not much to do, though. It’s not like anyone expects anything of him.
He decides to find a place to nap. Like always.
---
A few days pass since that encounter, when Leona bumps into you again. Quite literally this time.
Papers fly in the air like snow. “Aaach!” You fall back on your butt with a thump before giving him a withering look.
Leona stands there above you as the papers fall to the ground. He didn’t even move back an inch when you bumped into him. “Ya goin’ somewhere, herbivore?” he asks, amusement coloring his tone. Guess non-beastmen are all weak if a little bump sends you tumbling to the ground.
“...” You don’t bother to respond as you gather your scattered documents.
Picking up one that landed on his foot, Leona quickly scans it. “Is this the brat’s curriculum?”
“Yes. I made some edits since your brother thought the last one was too much for Cheka,” you reply. He catches the frown that quickly fades into a neutral expression.
From the looks of the one sheet, you plan to teach Cheka basic magic and runes. Something most kids his age would not be learning until a few years later. “He might be right.” Knowing Cheka, the little furball will quickly lose interest.
Huffing, you snatch the paper out of his hand. “I believe he can do it. He showed great interest in the history of magic and learning fundamentals during our first session. He just needs to be engaged.”
“And how do ya plan to engage a six year old?” The boy has too much energy for Leona’s taste. Even Cheka’s old tutor had a hard time keeping him on track. He liked to ask too many questions that would quickly spiral out of control.
For the first time that day, you grin. “I have my ways, your highness.”
His ears twitch. “Hmm… Have fun with the twerp.” He walks past you without another glance.
---
“Now I want you to visualize the broccoli,” you tell Cheka. The young boy stares at the plate with the single broccoli you placed in front of him. “They look like small trees, don’t they?”
Cheka nods. “Yeah! They’re like small green trees!”
“Right! So imagine reaching forward and plucking this small tree from the plate.” You watch as the boy’s brows furrow deeply. His golden gaze is focused on the broccoli. Finally, he slumps forward.
“Nothing happened…” he pouts.
Ruffling his hair, you gently encourage him, “Don’t worry, Cheka. These things take time. You’ll get it soon!”
Though he smiles back at you, you notice it isn’t as bright. “Alright. Let’s do something else.” Clapping your hands together, you rummage through the trunk of things you had brought from home. “We’re going to do a reenactment of a myth”
“Reenactment?” Cheka pops the broccoli in his mouth without you noticing.
You hand over a few props. “It means we’ll be putting on a play pretending to be the characters of the story.”
“Papa and I play pretend all the time!” Excitement shines in his eyes as he takes the offered clothes.
Beaming, you put on a hat. “Then you’ll be a pro at this!”
Unbeknownst to you, a certain lion is sitting further in the back of the library on a windowsill. He chuckles as he listens to you start the story.
---
“So you like chess?” Your voice interrupts his thought process. A little annoyed to be disturbed, he gives you a glare but it doesn’t phase you.
“And so what if I do?” He should have played in his room in peace. But it’s being cleaned at the moment, so he had to find a different place away from others. Hence being in the library you use for Cheka’s lessons.
Shrugging, you tap the queen. “I learned a bit but never could actually grasp the game. It takes a lot of skill and foresight to be good. I don’t know much but looking at the board, I’m assuming you're a pro. That’s amazing.”
A compliment is not something he expected to hear from you. Nor is it something he’s heard in a long time. “The thing about chess is that you can play it alone. You don’t need anyone else,” he mutters.
Moving away, you bow. “Sorry to disturb you, your highness.”
You turn to leave, but he stops you. “I didn’t say I wouldn’t like a match…”
Your eyes widen a fraction as he notes a small smile form on your face. “I don’t think I’ll be much of a challenge.”
He shrugs and gestures to the chair opposite. You sit down as he places the pieces back to their starting positions. “Take it as a chance to learn from a master.”
“A very humble master,” you tease before focusing on the board.
And true to your word, you aren’t much of a challenge. He manages to beat you in five moves. Despite losing so quickly you ask for another game. Occasionally you ask about certain pieces as your memory of the game is hazy. Despite beating you multiple times, Leona finds it entertaining. You don’t get discouraged even after losing every time. And you don’t lose as quickly each time.
Leaning back, you let out a sigh, “I think I’m all chessed out.”
He tips the queen on the board back and forth. “You’re not bad. You learn quickly. With some practice, you could get better.”
“Maybe even good enough to beat you?” you ask.
Smirking, he flicks the queen on its side. It rolls across the board to you. “Not even in your dreams, herbivore.”
You let out a laugh that lights up your face. For once you don’t have the stern teacher facade he’s seen you wear most times. Only with Cheka do you look like you’re enjoying yourself. He still remembers the sound of your voice as it fell and rose while you pretended to be different characters. You're much more animated when you’re relaxed and let your guard down.
---
Leona wishes he could be anywhere but here. Farena’s wife had foisted Cheka onto him just as he was going out. She knew he couldn’t say no, and so today he’s on babysitting duties. Where’s the brat’s nanny?
“Unca Leona! Look!” Cheka points to a small pastry stall. Rows upon rows of sweets and confections are on display. From the looks of it, the seller is not from around the area. The young cub eagerly runs over while Leona follows at a leisurely stroll.
Cheka presses his face against the glass case. “Can I have one, huh??”
“Yeah, whatever.” It’s not his fault if the kid eats sweets before dinner.
As the young boy eagerly points to a chocolate covered treat, the stall owner rings him up. “That will be 500 thaumarks.”
Leona stares at him blankly as Cheka is already eating the treat. “I don’t have money. Just bill it to the royal account.”
The stall owner nervously looks between him and his nephew. “I-I’m sorry, sir?” The confusion is written all over his face. Leona feels his irritation grow.
“I don’t carry money on me. Just go to the palace and ask to be paid. They’ll know what to do.” He starts to turn away, but the stall owner is still persistent.
“P-please wait a s-second!” This is why he doesn’t deal with non-locals, they don’t know the rules.
“Unca Leona, are we going to jail?” Cheka asks, golden eyes wide.
Pinching the bridge of his nose, Leona almost snaps at the stall owner when a familiar voice calls to them. “Leona? Cheka?”
You’re carrying an armful of groceries as you near them. Dressed in more casual clothes, he almost doesn’t recognize you. Cheka grins as he bounds over. He wraps his arms around your waist, nearly making you lose your balance.
“(Y/N)! What are you doing here?” You set down the bags to give him a proper hug.
“I was doing some grocery shopping. What about you?” Your brows draw together as you chuckle. “You have chocolate all over your mouth, Cheka.”
The boy furiously rubs his mouth with the back of his hand. “Unca Leona and I are spending the day together! But since he doesn’t carry money, we’re going to jail.” He nods solemnly.
You tilt your head to the side as you give Leona a questioning look. “We ain’t goin’ to jail, brat!”
“I would hope not. You’re too cute for jail, Cheka,” you joke. Pulling out your wallet, you glance at the stall owner. “I can pay.”
“Yaya!” Cheka cheers as he jumps in the air.
You hand over the money. Picking your groceries back up, you ruffle his hair. “My treat. I’m done for the day, so I’ll be heading back.”
Before Leona can say anything, Cheka follows after you as he calls over his shoulder, “Let’s go, Unca Leona!”
Muttering under his breath about being bossed around, Leona reluctantly follows. As Cheka runs ahead, you glance at the lion with an amused smile. “So, the great prince Leona was about to go to jail?”
Snorting, he crosses his arms over his chest. “As if. I’ve never had issues with paying. Everyone knows to bill it to the royal account. Apparently you out of towners know nothing.”
“Royal account? It must be nice to not worry about having to carry money.” Shaking your head, you can’t imagine the life he lives. “Maybe just carry a bit around just in case something like this happens again. I won’t always be there to bail you out.”
“As if I need you to.” He rolls his eyes before grabbing one of your bags.
“Hey!”
“You’re only holding us up by carryin’ all those,” he scoffs.
He can feel your stare but resolutely looks forward. “Thank you,” you mumble as you catch up to his long strides.
---
Most people in the palace know not to linger or rest in certain places. Those spots are reserved for a certain lazy lion. So, when Leona arrives at one of his napping spots under the acacia, he’s not pleased to see a figure resting there.
He’s about to kick the intruder out when he realizes it’s you. A book rests face down on your chest. You snooze with your mouth slightly ajar. It’s a funny sight.
His annoyance fades slightly. Too tired to go to another spot, Leona plops down next to you. There’s plenty of space for him. He’ll let the transgression go this time.
Sometime later when he wakes up, you’ve somehow moved so that your head rests against his shoulder. You’re drooling on his shirt sleeve. Clicking his tongue, he pushes you none too gently causing you to fall over and wake up.
“Huh?!” Sitting up, you rub the sleep from your eyes. “L-Leona?”
He sneers at his wet sleeve. “Ya drool like waterfall, herbivore.”
Picking up your book, you apologize, “Sorry… I can pay for it to be cleaned?” you offer, trying to wipe the leftover drool away.
“Tch. Maybe next time you sleep with your mouth closed.” Standing, he stretches and yawns. “Later, herbivore.”
Watching as he leaves, you wonder when he arrived.
---
“Cheka has improved exponentially. I think he’ll be ready for more challenging material in a year or so,” you inform Farena. Giving him Cheka’s mid-year report, you hand him a thick packet with your notes and observations.
Farena browses through the notes. “I’m glad to hear Cheka’s doing so well! He’s such a bright boy, but sometimes has a difficult time staying focused. I can tell you’re doing great work, (Y/N)!”
You bow your head. “Thank you, your highness.”
The door to Farena’s office opens and Cheka pokes his head in. “Papa!”
“Cheka!” The man beams as the young boy runs over to him. He hops into his lap as Farena hugs him. “What brings you here?”
“Unca Leona said I should stop bothering him and come find you,” the boy explains.
Ferna chuckles as he turns to you. “Are we done here?”
You do have a few more things you want to go over, but decide you can save it for another time. “I’m all set. You can keep the report. There's a plan for the next six months you can review and let me know what you think, your highness.”
Giving the prince one last bow, you leave his office. Shutting the door, you head back to your guest residence. Much like the rest of the palace, the guest quarters are just as lavish. There’s a fully functional kitchen, which you have stocked with food. You could have the royal chefs cook for you, but prefer making your own meals.
As you put together dinner, your thoughts wander to a certain second prince. Leona is an interesting character to say the least. He’s the opposite of his warm and friendly brother. Oftentimes you spot him napping in various places. It doesn’t seem like he has any duties and spends his days doing whatever he pleases.
You’ve heard the whispers of the staff.
He’s the second born, so there are no expectations for him.
He’s rude, prideful, and arrogant.
He’ll use underhand tricks to get what he wants.
His unique magic is terrifying.
He's good for nothing.
Even gossip has a grain of truth. Yet, you try not to cast judgment on him beyond what you’ve learned from your interactions. Leona is rude, prideful, and arrogant. But he’s also cunning and a brilliant strategist. Though he shows a strong distaste for his nephew, he does watch out for him in his own way. He seems to have a softer side, though he’d probably kill you if you ever said it to his face.
You don’t realize you’re smiling as you think about him.
---
“Unca Leona, can you show me your unique magic?” Cheka asks, his eyes sparkle with curiosity.
Somehow the brat had found him while he was snoozing. He had made sure to hide away from prying eyes as much as possible. Yet, no hiding place is safe from Cheka.
Not even bothering to open his eyes, he tries to shoo him away. “No. Leave me alone.”
Cheka persists. “Please! (Y/N) said everyone has a unique magic and I wanna see yours. Pleeeeeeaaaassssseeeeee!”
Leona sighs, exasperated. “Listen, brat, my unique magic isn’t for fun and games. People can get hurt, and I would rather not get yelled at by your mom.”
The young boy droops. “Okay…”
Rubbing his face, Leona stands up. There’s no napping now. “Where’s your tutor?”
He perks up. “(Y/N) is at the guest house. They said I can always visit whenever I want. Do you wanna visit them too, Unca Leona?”
Leona is already heading in the direction of the guest house. “Yeah, somethin’ like that,” he mutters. Cheka scampers after him eagerly.
Arriving at the guest house, the door is open so he lets himself in. “Oi! Herbivore, you home?”
There’s the sound of crashing and the two follow the noise. In the kitchen, you're picking up a fallen pot. “Leona?” You eye him quizzically as Cheka immediately runs over to you.
“We wanted to visit!” the boy exclaims. He stands on his tiptoes as he eyes the freshly made chocolate chip cookies set on the table.
You hand him one. “What do I owe for this surprise visit?”
“The kid wants to see some unique magic, so I thought since you’re his tutor, you’d be able to show him,” he explains, shaking his head.
You absently hand Cheka another cookie as he makes grabby hands at you. “I guess I could show him. My unique magic is basically useless for combat so it should be safe.”
Turning to the boy, you bite your lip. He has chocolate all over his face. “Come on, Cheka. I’ll show you my unique magic.”
“Yay!” He grabs your hand as you lead him outside. Leona follows quietly behind.
Standing outside, you close your eyes. “Let the green touch the lands wherever I go. Grow! Flourish! Nature’s blessing.”
Suddenly all around you, grass springs up. Wild flowers grow and bloom. Leona watches as a sprout grows taller and taller. It flourishes into a sturdy tree with dark green leaves that shade you from the sun.
“Woah! That’s amazing!” Cheka runs over to the tree to touch the trunk. “It’s real?!”
Bending over with hands on your knees, you catch your breath. “Yup, everything made with my unique magic are real plants. It’s about a ten foot radius all around.” You smile weakly.
Leona reaches up to pluck off a leaf. “To be able to create life from nothin’ is a feat.” He turns to you, green eyes gleaming. “And here I thought you weren’t that impressive, herbivore.”
“Well it’s not like any of this is useful. I can’t grow fruit or anything edible. The plants only last as long as they naturally can in whatever environment it’s currently in.” You plop down in the grass with a sigh. “It uses too much magic, so I’m usually tired afterwards. I guess it could be a neat party trick…”
Cheka is too busy climbing the tree to notice your exhaustion. Leona lays down in the grass. “At least it’s the type of unique magic people aren’t afraid of. This makes an ideal napping spot.”
Peering at him, you notice the way he seems off in thought staring up at the canopy of leaves. “Just because your unique magic might be dangerous, doesn’t mean you are,” you point out.
He snorts. “Most people don’t think that way. They’re all too blinded by their fear.” Closing his eyes, he can hear Cheka chattering to himself while climbing back down.
The young boy comes over and flops down next to Leona. “This is so cool!” He points at a spot on one of the branches. “Look! Even the birds are coming to rest.”
Chuckling, you lay down as well. You're still tired from using your unique magic. “Sometimes it’s nice to just lay in the shade of a tree.”
Leona agrees with a non-committal hum. Cheka worms his way between you two. The three of you rest in the shade of the tree.
Suddenly Cheka asks, “Do you have someone back home (Y/N)?”
“Um, no. Why do you ask?” You’re a bit afraid to hear his answer.
Cheka sits up as he looks at you then Leona. “Then you can marry unca Leona! That way, you can stay here forever, and unca Leona won’t be so grumpy!”
“Hey, brat, sometimes it’s better to keep ya mouth shut!” Leona snaps, sitting up as well. His teeth are clenched and he refuses to look in your direction.
The boy doesn’t seem too bothered by his uncle’s words. “But papa said if people like each other, they should get married. You like (Y/N), don’t you?”
“That’s…that’s none of your business!” he growls. Scowling fiercely, he lays back down and turns on his side away from Cheka. “Don’t bother me,” he grunts.
“Did I say something wrong?” Cheka asks in a loud whisper.
Biting your lip, you try not to laugh. “Just let him rest.”
Flopping back down, Cheka sighs, “I still think you and unca Leona should get married,” he says honestly.
You remain silent as you mull over his words.
---
A week before Cheka’s birthday, the palace is abuzz. Many people run around with decorations throughout the week. Farena is busy organizing the party and has invitations sent out to just about everyone. You received a handmade invitation from Cheka to attend his party during one of your lessons.
As his birthday draws closer, the young boy can’t seem to sit still for his lessons. You decide to switch tactics. Instead of lessons in the library, the two of you spend time around the palace gardens. Practical magic application requires more open space, and it gives you an excuse to let Cheka run around a bit.
“Did you see that?!” Cheka jumps around wildly as his attempt to move some pebbles with wind magic finally succeeds. They only roll a bit but it’s enough to excite him.
You clap enthusiastically. “Wonderful job, Cheka!” He tilts his head closer so you can pat him. He smiles triumphantly as you ruffle his hair. “I can tell you’ve been practicing your concentration. You’re progressing nicely,” you praise.
Picking up the pebbles, you place them back in a pouch. You gesture to Cheka to sit down on a nearby bench. Rummaging through the bag you always carry, you pull out a wrapped box. Handing it to him, you watch as his eyes light up.
“Is this my birthday gift?!” He’s ready to tear into it.
Nodding, you chuckle at his barely restrained excitement. “Yes. I thought you could open my gift early.” In reality, you don’t want Cheka to make a big fuss over your gift at his party. He most likely would receive far better gifts from the many guests.
He eagerly rips the wrapping paper away. Pulling off the box top, he pulls out a small snow globe. Rather than depicting snow, it’s filled with grass and miniature flowers. There’s even a miniature tree like the one that grew when you used your unique magic. The flowers and tree grow before disappearing in a puff of green sparkle and then regrow again.
“Woah!” He holds it close to his face.
“I infused a bit of my unique magic in some runes. I thought a small plant world would make a fun snow globe,” you explain. It took you many trials and long nights to complete the gift. Infusing runes with your magic took precise control and a lot of patience. It sounded easy in theory, but you had learned how difficult it actually was.
“This is so cool!” He carefully set the globe back in the box before wrapping his short arms around you. “Thank you!”
Squeezing him tight, you smile brightly. Pulling away, you pat his head. “Alright, lessons are over for today. I’ll let you enjoy some time off before your birthday.”
Jumping up, he holds the box with your gift closer to his chest. “I wanna show papa my gift!” He’s off like a bolt of light.
Shaking your head, you pick up the rest of your things before heading to the guest house. You hadn’t planned to give Cheka something, but you also couldn’t resist the urge to make him smile. His joy is infectious. As much as you promised not to get too personal with Cheka, he had wormed his way into your heart.
---
You try your best to avoid bumping into people as you weave your way through the party. There are so many guests, and they’re all in merry moods. Cheka’s birthday celebration is nothing like you’ve ever been to. There’s so much food and drink, it seems to overflow. Music and dancers entertain the guests.
Beatmen, fae, humans and other magical creatures mingle and laugh. It was fun at first, but now you’re feeling tired. The excitement has become a bit too much for you. Sneaking out of the party, you manage to wander into the garden. The music and cheering is muffled, and the air feels nice on your heated skin.
Sitting down on one of the benches, you let out a relieved breath. “Too much excitement for ya, herbivore?”
Leona’s voice makes you jump up. You spy a set of bright emerald eyes staring at you. Sprawled out on the grass and mostly hidden by the bushes, he’s very hard to spot. Your heart still beats rapidly as you sink back down.
“Don’t do that…” You sigh. “I just needed a break from all that. It’s a lot to take in. Are parties usually this extravagant?”
He tilts his head before slinking over to you. “Usually. Farena likes to go all out when it comes to birthday parties.” He pushes you to the edge of the bench, so he can sit down. “It’s annoying but harmless.”
“So, what did you get Cheka?” you ask, curious since you didn’t see him give a gift during the present opening.
“A mechanical meerkat,” he answers. He shrugs when you give him a confused look. “Some toy inventor was trying to sell it a few weeks ago. No one was buyin’ it, but I thought the brat would like it. According to the inventor, it can lead you home if you tell it to.”
Peering at him, he doesn’t meet your probing gaze. “That actually sounds useful. You’re a good uncle, Leona.”
He grumbles something under his breath that you can’t hear. However, the way his ears twitch, you wonder if he’s just a little happy at the compliment. “Stop lookin’ so smug, herbivore,” he growls.
Grinning, you stand up. “Despite all your complaining, you care about him.” He scoffs but doesn’t deny your claim. “Come on, we should head back.” Offering him your hand, you meet his intense gaze with a fond look of your own.
Leona takes your hand, and you lead him out of the garden. Down the darkened halls of the castle, you two slowly walk back to the party while talking in low voices. You’re not in any hurry to return to the celebration.
---
There’s a night bazaar happening and Cheka is determined to go. You can only stand in Farena’s office and watch as the young boy begs his father to take him. Your paperwork was forgotten the moment Cheka had run into the office during your meeting.
“Please, papa! I really wanna go tonight! You promised last year that you’d take me!” he begs, his eyes wide and filled with pleading. The mechanical meerkat that Leona had gifted him skitters from the boy’s pocket to his head.
Farena sighs, shoulders slumping forward. “I’m sorry, Cheka. I really can’t. Papa has some very important meetings he needs to attend. I can’t push them off.” The unspoken ‘again’ hangs in the air.
Cheka’s large golden eyes fill with tears. “Bu-but…” His lower lip wobbles dangerously.
With a panicked look in his eyes, Farena meets your gaze. He stares at you for a moment longer before a smile stretches across his face. “I’m sure (Y/N) can take you though!”
“W-what?” Baffled, you can only open and close your mouth.
Cheka sniffles as he wipes his face before looking at you with hopeful eyes. “Really?”
You resist the urge to say what you’re really feeling by biting the inside of your cheek. “Of course! You’re not busy, are you?” Farena asks, his eyes pleading much like how his son was just moments before.
“I-I mean I had plans…” In reality, you were just going to finish grading Cheka’s last test and finish reviewing your future lessons. Very exciting things!
Having the king of all people look at you with what can only be called puppy eyes is a very startling turn of events. “Leona can go with you too,” he adds with a grin
“Unca Leona!” Cheka cheers, all sadness gone without a trace.
Farena gives Cheka a big squeeze before letting the boy rush off to find his uncle. “I’ll see you at the front door!” he calls before the door closes with a click.
You meet his gaze, his eyes the same warm golden shade as his son’s. “I take it I don’t have much choice on this matter?”
The man shakes his head. “Of course you have a choice. I can’t force you to go.” He drums his fingers on his desk as he regards you with sharp eyes. “But Cheka’s so fond of you, I thought some more time together would be nice. If you don’t want to go, you don’t have to. Cheka’s a big boy, he’ll understand.”
Eyes narrowing, the easy smile on his face doesn’t seem so friendly. “As you wish, your highness.” You give a stiff bow before leaving his office.
You can hear Cheka’s voice drifting through the halls as you walk away. Shaking your head at your encounter with the king, you meet him at the front. Cheka is bouncing around excitedly while Leona scowls, his dark hair a mess. The meerkat hangs on his shoulders; it’s become his constant companion.
“I need to drop some things off at the guest house,” you tell them. Leona’s scowl seems to soften a bit when you come closer.
“Okay! Then the bazaar!” The boy grabs your hand. You can only give Leona a helpless smile as you're dragged along.
After putting away your things and grabbing some money, the three of you walk to the bazaar. It’s filled with people wandering about as they enjoy the food, entertainment, and festive atmosphere. Cheka tugs you to each and every stall.
He chatters non stop at everything he sees, pointing with wide eyes at the decorations. You listen to his enthusiastic ramblings while Leona follows a few paces behind. Eventually you stop at a stall to buy a few treats. Cheka is chowing down on a chocolate pastry from the same seller as last time.
“So, it looked like Cheka had just woken you up from a nap,” you comment.
Leona rubs his eyes. “The brat seems to have a knack for finding me regardless of how well I hide.” He shakes his head as Cheka starts eating another sweet. “How’d my brother rope you into this?”
Looking around, you notice a puppet show being set up. A group of children are already gathered in front of the makeshift stage. “Let’s just say your brother is very…persuasive when he wants to be.”
Snorting, you glance at Leona, who rolls his eyes dramatically. “He knows how to get his way.”
Nudging his arm with your elbow, you give him a teasing grin. “I’d say the same for you. The two of you go about it in different ways, but the end result is the same.”
There’s a sharpness to his smile. “I can show how persuasive I can be, herbivore. And I promise I’m better than my brother.” His emerald greens seem to darken as he holds your gaze.
Feeling heat prickle up your neck, you turn away. “Cheka! Do you want to watch the puppet show?” As you usher the young boy over to the show, you can hear Leona’s low chuckle, sending shivers down your back.
The puppet show starts after a few minutes. The story is rather morbid for a children’s play. The story revolves around a young man and his uncle turned stepfather, who may have poisoned his brother to become king. You become so engrossed in the play that you don’t notice Cheka slipping away.
There’s a particular moment in the play that causes you to turn to Cheka. “Did you see tha-” Your eyes land on an empty seat before frantically scanning around. Standing up, you urgently run over to Leona, who had opted to rest a bit away on a bench.
“Did you see Cheka?!” The fear in your voice is palpable.
He quickly sits up, eyes focused. “No. He couldn’t have gotten far.” Taking your hand, the two of you rush through the bazaar calling his name.
“Cheka? Cheka?! Cheka!” You split off from Leona hoping to cover more ground. As you rush by stalls and the throngs of people, you can only think of finding him.
Something shiny catches your eye near the edge of the bazaar. Rushing over, you realize it’s the mechanical meerkat that Cheka always carries. Though a bit dusty, the toy is perfectly fine. It immediately curls up in your hand as you pocket the toy. Moving away from the bright lights of the festival, you make your way through the dim streets and alleys in the general direction of where you found the meerkat.
You hear a loud sound coming from one of the alleys and carefully make your way over. Peering into the narrow passage, you can make out two figures struggling with a small figure. As the clouds suddenly part and moonlight fills the dark alley, your eyes widen. The two figures are struggling with a terrified Cheka.
“Let him go!” You rush at them as magic builds at your fingertips. However, Cheka cries out as a sharp pain radiates from the back of your head. Your vision blurs as you feel your body pitch forward. Everything goes black.
---
Waking up with a throbbing headache, you find yourself laying on your side. The grimy, cold floor rubs against your cheek as you struggle to sit up. Your hands are bound behind your back with rope as well as your legs. The world spins as you manage to sit up and take in your surroundings.
There’s not much except some planks of wood leaning against a wall, empty buckets stacked in a corner and a boarded up window. The air is stale and the only light comes from a door slightly ajar. You can hear muffled voices arguing.
“(Y/N)?” a tiny voice calls to you. Blinking as your eyes adjust, you realize Cheka is tied up as well. He sits with his back against a wall. His shirt hangs limply off of him and his face is smudged with dirt.
“Cheka, are you okay?” you ask in a low voice.
He nods, tears threaten to spill. “When those men hit you, I thought…I thought you wer-” his voice breaks into a muffled sob.
“It’s okay, Cheka. Shhh, shhh.” You keep your voice down as you try to sooth him. “I’m okay. You’re okay. And we’re getting out of here.”
Sniffling, he tries his best to calm down. “H-how?”
“Give me a second to think.” There’s not much you can use in the room. If you try breaking down the boards on the window, it might draw too much attention. The only other way out is straight through where the voices are coming from.
Testing the bindings on your wrist, they don’t budge. Drawing on your magic, you summon a small fire. As they burn through the rope, you try your best to ignore the pain as the flame licks your skin. Once the rope is burned enough for you to easily break them, you do the same for the binds on your legs.
“Cheka, how many men are there?” you ask, tossing aside the burnt rope.
“Th-three I think. They’ve been fighting for a while. I-I think I’ve seen one of them before.” Once free to move, you crawl over to Cheka and start working on his ropes.
“This will hurt, but you can’t make a sound. Okay?” Peering at his tired eyes, he nods slowly. You try your best to burn the rope without hurting him, but you notice the way he slightly jerks away before biting down on his lip.
“Almost there. You’re doing an amazing job, you praise. Tears fall, but he remains quiet. You tug at the ropes and they easily break. Making quick work of the rest of the bindings, you sit on your haunches.
Contemplating your next move, you decide to get going. There isn’t much you can do, but you need to get out. Meeting Cheka’s gaze, you tell him, “I’m going to carry you. Hold as tight as you can and don’t let go. Whatever happens, don’t look. Okay?”
“Okay.” He scrambles to your side and loops his arms around your neck. Standing up, you nearly fall back down as the world spins and your head pounds. Using the wall to right yourself, you push through the bout of dizziness. You heft him up on your good side while leaving one hand free to cast magic.
“There’s going to be a lot of noise, but I want you to ignore it.” He answers by burying his face in your shoulder. Tightening your hold, you inhale sharply. Gathering your magic, you rush out the slightly ajar door.
It bangs open loudly, startling the three men. You recognize one as the stall seller from earlier. Before they can react, you quickly throw fireballs at their feet. You call upon the wind to whip  through the small area. It stirs the dust on the ground and sends smaller objects flying.
“What the hell?!”
You squeeze your eyes shut as you make a dash for the exit. Rushing outside, you stumble a bit before breaking out in a mad dash. It’s still dark out, but the moonlight makes it easier to navigate.
They have two horses tied up nearby. Honing wind magic with sharp focus, you direct  it to cut through the rope. The horses rear in fright and immediately run off. At least the kidnappers won’t be able to use them.
“Shit! Get them! Bring the brat back alive!”
You hold Cheka tightly against you as you pump your legs. Nothing else matters except getting to somewhere safe. At the outskirts of town, you can make the faint glimmer of lights in some of the houses. Urging your magic once more, a wind pushes against your back, allowing you to run just a little faster. You can hear the kidnappers shouting but don’t look back.
Cheka keeps his eyes squeezed tight like you told him, but his whole body shakes. You continue to mutter reassurances to him, though at this point you’re trying to reassure yourself too. Feeling the fatigue of using magic so much, you let the wind die down. You can only do a little more magic before it becomes an issue.
Passing by a few homes, you call out, “Please, someone help us!”
No one answers. You see houses that were once lit suddenly turn dark. Gritting your teeth, you adjust your hold on Cheka. You can hear the kidnappers getting closer. Rushing down side streets, you zigzag through the town. You knock over trash cans in different directions before bolting down a different alley.
There’s a brief respite from all the running once you can no longer hear the kidnappers. You set Cheka down to catch your own breath. Your chest burns from the exertion. The throbbing in the back of your head has gotten worse. Cheka stares up at you with worried eyes. He gnaws on his lower lip.
Glancing around, you spy a large, water drum near the door of a house. Usually used to store rain water, you notice the crack in the side of the drum. The house itself is dark and looks to be empty. There’s also a clothing line with dry clothes and a blanket hanging. There’s a sack leaning against the drum, and you can see a shirt sleeve sticking out of it.
An idea starts to form. “Cheka, I need you to be very brave right now. I know this situation is very scary, but I promise that you’ll be safe. Do you trust me?” You kneel so your eye level with him.
He nods solemnly. Any of that usual joy is gone, and it breaks your heart. “I trust you.”
“I need you to hide in that water drum. Hide in there and count slowly to one hundred.” You pull out the mechanical meerkat you had picked up. Thankfully it still works as it jumps out of your hand and climbs up Cheka to settle on his shoulder.
There’s a small smile on his face for a moment. “Then,” you continue, “once you finish counting and you don’t hear anyone around, I want you to use the meerkat to lead you home. You remember what Leona told you, right?”
“Yes… He said I just have to ask it to take me home, and it’ll lead me back to the palace.”
Nodding, you ruffle his hair. “Good. Now get in the drum and don’t come out until you’re done counting.” You pop off the lid.
Cheka climbs into the drum. He peers up at you. “Will you be okay?”
“I’ll be fine. We’ll meet back at the palace, I promise.” Giving him what you hope is a reassuring smile, you place the lid on the drum.
Grabbing the sack of clothes and the blanket, you dawn a large jacket and pull the hood up. You mentally apologize to whoever you’re stealing from and promise you’ll return everything. Covering the sack with the blanket, you hold it as if it were Cheka.
Breathing deeply, you give one last glance at the drum before running off. You can hear the kidnappers nearby and purposefully run by them.
“There! Get them!”
Running down streets and turning corners, you can hear them gaining. Just as you turn another corner, you come to a fence. There’s a stack of crates that you climb on to jump over the fence. However, the landing isn’t perfect as your foot lands the wrong way. You tumble forwards into the ground. Tucking the sack under your body, you come to a rolling stop. Getting back up, you wince as pain shoots up your leg.
One of the kidnappers, the stall owner, is rushing at you. As you attempt to flee, he manages to snag the back of the hood. You find yourself being dragged back. Then a clawed hand roughly grabs the back of your head causing the pain from before to intensify. Your eyes widen as you face rapidly meet the ground before you squeeze them shut.
The burst of pain as your forehead cracks against the cold ground has you seeing stars. You cry out, but the assailant doesn’t stop. Something cracks loudly. An animalistic howl rips from your throat. You swear your face is on fire.
“Hey, man, stop!” There’s some struggle before the clawed hand disappears. You feel the cold ground pressing against your cheek but can’t see anything beyond the tears.
Someone rolls you over and the blanket is torn away. “Fuck! Where’s the brat?!”
Three shadows hover over you in the morning light. You feel a foot nudge your side. “Where’s the kid!?”
Through the pain, you find yourself smiling despite your face protesting against the gesture. You hand twitches and shakes as you try to raise it. However, a heavy pressure immediately stomps on your hand causing another scream to be ripped from your throat. You can feel the bones being ground down by the heel of someone’s foot.
“Not this time fucking mage!” growls one of them
“We’re gonna ask one last time. Where’s the boy?”
Through blurry vision, you can see their faces. Your heartbeat thumps in your ears as you see a glint of a knife in one of their hands. You were supposed to be a tutor, that’s it. Yet, you somehow find yourself bloody, bruised and beaten. There’s nothing you can do.
Whatever adrenaline that was rushing through you before, dies down. Your body sags as all the fight leaves you. Closing your eyes, you wait.
“Not gonna talk…” The foot on your hand moves away.
“Just kill them! We need to get outta here before the guards are called.”
You wonder if Cheka made it back safe.
“Let’s get this ove-arhhhhgghhh!”
Terrified screams fill the air. You can feel the crackle of magic on your skin. Gentle hands gingerly lift you up. The warmth of another body feels like a relief from the cold ground. Something tickles your face.
“You’re all a bunch of idiots. Hurting someone from the royal family is a crime punishable by death!” Leona growls. There’s a sense of relief that floods your body. You're safe.
“Take (Y/N) back to the palace and have the royal doctor take care of the injuries,” he orders. You’re passed off to someone else.
“I am the one who hungers. I am the one who thirsts.” Distinctly you can hear the kidnappers shouting and feel the ground shake.
But soon you can’t hear anything. It doesn’t matter though as you allow yourself to slip away.
---
When you wake once more, you’re not in a grungy basement. You recognize your room at the guest house. Whatever aches and pains you had before aren’t as pronounced. Sitting up, you inspect your arms and notice your hand is bandaged up. You touch your face with your good hand and wince. There’s a dull throbbing all throughout your face.
“You’re awake.” The doctor, a cat beastman, enters. “How are you feeling?”
“Sore but fine.” You lean back against the propped up pillows. “Is Cheka okay?”
She checks your pulse. “The young prince is fine. Tired and scared, but he wasn’t hurt. You on the other hand needed a lot of fixing.” She clicks her tongue. “Your nose was broken and the area around it was extensively bruised. Your hand will need time to heal naturally, though I did reset it with magic. Your head should be fine after a few days, but you will feel some pain. Take one pill in the morning and one before bed. Drink plenty of water and get rest.”
Frowning, you set the bottle of pills down on the side table. “I’m Cheka’s tutor, I need to work.”
“You will do no such thing for at least a week,” she snaps. Her mismatched eyes glare at you as she shakes her head. “I will tell the king that you need rest or else.”
Shrinking under her gaze, you nod. “...fine.”
“Good. There’s some people here to see you.” Gesturing to the door, you finally notice Cheka peeking in.
He rushes to your side, but stops himself as he takes in the sight of you. “I’m sorry!” he suddenly cries out.
You panic as tears fall down his face. “C-Cheka? It’s okay! I’m fine!” You stroke his head with your good hand. “Everything turned out alright in the end.”
“B-but you got hurt because of me!”
Shaking your head vehemently, you give him a firm look. “You didn’t hurt me, Cheka. Those kidnappers did. Don’t ever think it’s your fault. Okay?”
Sniffling, he nods. “O-okay.”
Sighing, you give him a few more pats. “I won’t be able to do lessons for a week, but I’d like it if we could still hang out.”
Golden eyes brightening, he jumps up. “I’ll visit you everyday! We can read and play games together!”
“That sounds like a plan!” Giving him a big grin despite the throbbing pain, your heart feels lighter seeing him shine again.
He gingerly wraps his arms around you in a warm hug. There’s a cough that breaks up the hug. Leona casually leans against the door frame. “Come on, brat. Time to give (Y/N) some space.”
“Okay! I’ll be back soon. I promise!” He scampers off.
Leona saunters in and takes a seat at your bedside. “You look like shit, herbivore.”
“Thanks for pointing out the obvious.” The glare you throw him has no heat and a smile forms on your face.
He eyes you for a moment before shaking his head. “You’re a lot of trouble, ya know that?” There’s fondness despite the scowl.
“Thank you for saving me.” Your gaze softens. “I really thought I was done. I can’t tell you how relieved I felt hearing your voice.”
Leaning back in the chair, he smirks. “Ya owe me one.”
Eyebrows flying up, you warily ask, “What do you want?”
“Well,” he holds up three fingers, “you have to be my napping pillow whenever I ask. Play chess with me. And you can’t leave.”
Brows coming together, you frown. “I can do one and two, but three isn’t possible. You do realize I’m hired by your brother to be Cheka’s tutor? Once I’m no longer needed, I have to find a new job.”
Scoffing, Leona leaves the chair to hover over you. He’s dangerously close and you can hear your heart thumping in your ears. “I’ll just hire you as my tutor when the time comes.”
“You?” Despite his closeness, you still find the ability to laugh.
“Mhm. I believe there are some things that only you can teach me.” His eyes gleam brightly as he inches ever closer to your face.
You can feel his lips brush against your own. Squeezing your eyes shut, you wait. Even though your face hurts, you decide you don’t mind if he kisses you. Instead, you feel his lips brush against your forehead. Cracking your eyes open, your puzzled look makes him chuckle.
His eyes are darker than before. “The doc says you can’t do anything strenuous. She’d have my head if I tried anything right now. But once you're healed, everything is fair game.”
You feel very warm under his gaze. However, you’re also itching to heal as quickly as possible. You suddenly recall Cheka’s very innocent question about marrying Leona. Looking away from him, you wonder.
“Whacha thinkin’ so hard about?” he asks, noticing the way you can’t meet his gaze.
Shaking your head, you scoot over in bed. “Nothing. Since I’m on bed rest, you can comfort me.”
A single eyebrow goes up. “Gettin’ bold.” However, he crawls under the covers before hauling you closer to him.
Resting your head against his chest, you relax. “So, are we…?” You trail off, not sure how to ask.
He snorts. “Of course we are. Keep up, herbivore.” Leona holds you gently, being sure not to touch any of your injuries. “Just rest,” he orders.
Closing your eyes, you decide not to worry about the logistics. Right now, you’re not Cheka’s tutor and Leona isn’t a prince. You’re just two people. And it’s perfect.

Tumblr media
When you had moved to King´s landing you found yourself alone and truly scared for the first time in your life. Fleabottom wasn´t the safest place to begin with, but it was the only thing you could afford while attending Uni, leaving you very little safe spaces. One of them being your friend Sarah Snow´s place and the other, your own apartment. Where you could shut out the scary real world with the turn of a key and multiple locks. Cuddling into your bed with your phone, the tv providing the only source of light in the apartment. It´s still early in the evening, but you had always valued a quiet night in over going out to some shitty bar or club or party, like your friends did. You silently shake your head at the thought of Sarah, Aly and Cassandra getting hammered at some party right now. And as if they heard your thoughts your phone starts to ring with an incoming videocall.
“Hey girl!” Aly exclaimed the second you accept the call. Making you hold the phone a little further away at the sheer volume of her voice. You can see your other two friends in the background, getting ready for going out.
“Hey, Aly. What are you up to?” You ask in a much quieter tone.
“We´re going out tonight.” By the way her words slur ever so slightly it is clear that the three of them had been pregaming.
“Okay, but… Why are you calling me? You know I am not in on the whole party thing.” A feeling in your gut told you, that a plan was afoot. A plan you wouldn´t like as much as sitting at home and watching movies.
“You´re coming with us. That´s why.” Cassandra´s voice sounds from the background.
“Oh no. No. No. No.” You insist.
“No, no talking back this time. Your gonna like it. I promise. There is this really niche bar, that has an open mic thing tonight for anyone that wants to share their work. It will be great.” Cassandra tries to convince you in a sweet voice.
“Ugh. Cas, Aly…”
“Come on. You always whine about being insecure about your writing. This could be great for you.” Sometimes you really hated your friends persistence. Especially when her points weren´t even half bad.
“Alright, fine. Send me the address and give me an hour to get ready.” You hear them cheering as you rub your eyes with the hand that isn´t holding up the phone. “But I won´t get behind that microphone. No matter what you say.”
“Yeah, yeah. Just get yourself presentable and come down. We´ll meet you there.” Just as suddenly as they had called you, they hang up again.
You throw your phone to the side and sigh deeply. Running your hands over your face, followed by bringing them down onto your upper thighs in an attempt to motivate yourself. Of course it doesn´t work and so, with another sigh you turn the tv off and hop into the shower. The warm water feels nice on your skin and when the time to step out, the typical feeling of not wanting to leave overcomes you. But you have to get ready if you don’t want to get shit from Sarah or Cas, so you force yourself to put on some light makeup and grab the next best clothes from your closet, that make you look presentable. Looking at the location of the bar you realize that it is only a few subway stops from your place and so you grab your phone, keys and wallet and head out to the station closest to your place. Checking twice if the pepper spray is still in your purse.
You walk down the stairs just in time for the subway to arrive.
When you arrive at the bar Sarah, Cassandra and Aly are already waiting outside. Greeting you with a mutually hollered “Babes!!”
“Heyyy!” You mirror their tone. Putting on a wide smile to not let them see how tired you really were.
Together the four of you enter the bar and the first thing you notice over the low chatter is how stuffed it is already. You barely find a table that fits all of you and immediately order a round of shots. A good choice as it turns out, because you barely have time to put down your coat, when you hear your name announced over the mic. A frown flits over your face, but you don´t have the heart or maybe the energy for a discussion now, so you pound back another shot and get up on the small makeshift stage. You sit down on the uncomfortable bar stool and introduce yourself. Beginning to read the latest excerpt from the book you were writing that you still have on your phone. The audience honestly doesn´t give much of a reaction, aside from your friend´s aggressive cheers. And the spotlight blinds you a bit, letting your anxiety practically spike. You can hear your voice shake as you read. Your hands and legs still tremble when you finally get back to the table.
“Y´all are such assholes. I told you I didn´t wanna read…” You protested as you take a drink from them.
“Aw, you were great either way, babes. Now come on. Let´s enjoy the evening.” Sarah tries to keep peace, laying a soothing hand on your arm. You know she means well. All of them do, but you still feel kind of hurt, that they had gone behind your back like that.
Over all the commotion and the people that read after you, you completely ignore the blonde stranger who, ever since you had entered the bar, couldn´t seem to turn his eyes away from you. Blissfully unaware of the dark thoughts behind them. And it stays that way until you leave. Tipsy, staggering up to the uber under his hidden watchful eyes. You close the door behind you and push the feeling of being watched aside as a side effect of being a woman alone in the outside world. He follows you in his own car. Thoughts of needing to have you and being the one for you swirling in his mind and possessing his every thought. Your mind however is occupied with the need for sleep and so he goes easily unnoticed. Looking through the widow of your ground level apartment as you undress and go to bed in only your underwear. He can even count himself lucky enough to go unnoticed by you over the next few days as you follow your usual routine. Going to the gym, the library, lessons, grocery shopping. Whatever you do, his eyes are on you. Until he is sure he knows your schedule by heart. Moving him along to step two of his plan.
Tumblr media
You meet up with your friends at a bar again. A different one this time and on your own accord. It was the last day before spring break and them all leaving to visit home. All of them except for you. You don´t mind not going home so much as being alone for a whole week. So, you make sure to enjoy the evening with them and once again ignore the feeling of being watched that had sat in the back of your brain for the past week or so. And when you go to get another round of drinks, that´s when he strikes.
You make your way over to the bar. Not really looking where you are going, when you run into someone. Their drink spilling all over the front of your shirt. You jump back as the wet fabric clings to your skin.
“Woah, I´m so sorry. Are you okay?” The stranger gives you a bright smile, flashing his perfect teeth. A smile that reaches his lilac eyes. Making them sparkle and crinkling their corners. He holds out some napkins for the stain that steadily grows more uncomfortable.
“Thank you. Yes, no. Yeah, I´m alright. Uh, I´m sorry too. I totally didn´t watch where I was going.” You tap at the stain in order to hopefully take some of it off. Smiling back at him. You can´t help but to. “Let me buy you a new drink. To make up for all of that.”
“No, no. I should buy you one. I totally ruined your shirt. I insist.” He is so effortlessly sympathetic that you couldn´t even protest against his words if you wanted to.
“Okay.” Youn nod and follow him to the bar, where you sit down together.
“I´m Aegon, by the way.” He extends his hand for you to shake, which you do while offering up your name.
“It´s nice to meet you, Aegon.” The two of you order drinks and fall into conversation easily. Talking about anything and everything until you feel your phone vibrate inside of your pocket. Pulling it out you see Cassandra´s name on the screen. Reminding you of who you actually came here with and why.
Another glance at the clock tells you, that it is well past midnight.
“Shit, I didn´t realize it was that late already.” You turn to him to say goodbye. Ready to never see this handsome not so strange stranger ever again, when he makes you another offer.
“Want me to drive you home? It´s probably not safe out there at this time of night.”
“That would actually be so great, but I´d hate to inconvenience you. I probably live in the whole other direction from where you need to go.” You rub your neck. Taking a step back, ready to leave to say goodbye to your friends.
“Come on, it would be my pleasure to do that for you. I would hate for something to happen to you on your way home. Just say yes.” Aegon´s gaze is so intense and there is only one thought behind them, that the alcohol has made you ignorant of to his luck. If you leave alone now, he wasted his chance.
You sigh. “Okay, alright. Thank you so much. I just need to say bye to my friends and then we can go.”
He offers you his jacket to hide the stained shirt and then follows your lead back to the table.
“Hey, girls. I´m super sorry I just dipped, but I met Aegon and he´s gonna drive me home now. I´ll explain tomorrow. Okay?”
“Yeah, alright. Just be safe and don´t do anything we wouldn´t do.” They wink at you and turn back to their conversation as you and Aegon make your way outside to his car.
Ever so gentlemanly he opens the door to the passenger side of the golden Mercedes s-class for you, making you curtsy jokingly and giggle, then walks around to the driver side, to get in himself.
The two of you find your way back into the conversation and so you don´t even realize that you never actually told him were you lived. Nevertheless he pulls up in front of your apartment complex in no time.
“I had a really nice evening with you tonight.” He says with another wide grin and soft chuckle.
“Me too. And I´m sorry again for that drink. One would think that at my age I would´ve learned how to watch where I´m going.” You run a hand through your hair. Still slightly embarrassed about your carelessness.
“No, again, it is fine. I should have watched my steps as well, but if you really want to apologize you could give me your number? And we could meet up again some time. I´m guessing you´re on spring break too now.” It´s almost frustrating how good he looks with his head tilted and those beautiful lilac puppy dog eyes. If there was any doubt about wanting to see him again, they are all gone now. You need to see him again. So, you pull out your phone and give him your number.
“Don´t let me wait too long before I hear from you.” You give him one last smile before exiting the car. He sits in the car until you close the building door behind you and then parks his car around the corner to go back and observe you for a bit longer without being overly obvious.
Through the large windows Aegon watches you like every night of the past week. Stepping out of your clothes, doing your nightly skincare routine, before slipping on the smallest pair of pajamas he had ever seen and slip underneath the covers to watch some more tv. Falling asleep in front of it. All with an almost dorky smile. He thinks you are the cutest thing he has ever seen. The way you are so excited about your little meeting is something he has never seen in his life and he is instantly hooked. Fantasies about you being all excited and running up to him when he enters the apartment after a long day out enter his mind. Thoughts about sharing the sweetest kisses. When he opens his eyes he sees something that isn´t as innocent as he first perceived you.
Your hands caress your breasts and wander bellow the blanket, your back arching as they enter your core.
Aegon lets out a breathless curse. His own hand wandering inside his pants to tug on his length. His thoughts turn instantly. From innocent kisses to you arching your back up until your breasts touch his chest. Writhing and squirming underneath him from the pleasure he is giving you. Your tight walls fluttering around his cock as you come from the circles his thumb rubs into your clit. He has to clamp his hand over his mouth so you don´t hear him moan outside of your window. Once he´s finished, he leaves. Not wanting to push his luck, but definitely looking forward to the next time he´d see you.
Tumblr media
The next morning you text the girls group chat. Apologizing for your behavior the previous night, by telling them every detail about the conversation with Aegon. How nice he was to you and how you thought that maybe, after a couple more dates, you could say he is the one. And as if he smelled you were talking about him in that moment you get a message from Aegon. Asking you out for coffee. You try to hide the smile that forces its way onto your mouth by biting your lower lip, even though there is no one there to hide it from. You answer him quickly and this time take a little extra time getting ready. Facetiming Aly, who is the only one that isn´t on a plane yet, to consult her on what best to wear. Even if she teases you relentlessly about being so nervous about a simple coffee date.
The truth is you haven´t been out on an actual date in years. Not after your last boyfriend had broken up with you for reasons only known to that absolute piece of shit. You had wasted three years pf your life on him and he couldn´t even give you a reason as to why he didn´t want to be with you anymore all of a sudden.
You take a deep breath to calm your nerves and hopefully stop the bouncing on your leg. Entering the small café he had asked you out to where you find him already sat at a table. A half smirk spreads his face. And by the seven you have to calm yourself down not to do anything embarrassing as a result of the glee you feel upon seeing him.
“Hey, I didn´t make you wait too long did I?” You ask bashfully.
“No worries. I basically just sat down.” He assures you. Watching with careful eyes as you take of your coat to reveal the dress you had chosen with Aly´s help and are now second guessing if the choice hadn´t been a bit too revealing.
“Phew, I´m glad to hear that. I hate making people wait for me.” You wipe away an imaginary drop of sweat and chuckle.
“Nah, you´re good.” He goes to say something else, but in that moment a waitress interrupts him to take your order. Which of course Aegon makes a mental note of. Just like anything he had learned about you so far. The waitress, an older woman, seems to recognize the nature of your meeting and how nervous you are and gives you an encouraging smile. You smile back at her and make sure to remember to tip her later.
“Alright so, normally I´d ask how you have been, but since we last saw each other last night I guess did you come home well yesterday?” You quipped.
“Yeah, I did. How about you?” The two of you share a laugh. Without the alcohol in your system he seems even more effortlessly charming. Coffee gets followed by dinner, which he invites you to. Talking about family, life, dreams and aspirations. You tell him about your parents’ divorce, the relationship you have with all of them, how studying and writing is going. How your dream is to be published one day. You open up to him more than you ever have to anyone in that short amount of time and he listens. He listens so well. Telling you about his studies and his father’s company, that he will inherit one day, yet he never makes you feel small compared to him, like others would probably make you feel. It would be easy to, but he just doesn´t. And your feelings for him grow ever stronger. He even persists on paying for you. Saying that you could pay the next dinner, but the two of you are aware that you could never earn enough money to pay a meal this expensive.
At the end of the day he drops you off at home once more, but when you hug him goodbye whispering “Thank you so much. I had such a great time today.” Into his ear he goes in for a kiss.
It’s a possessive claiming of your mouth kind of kiss. All clashing teeth and heavy bursts of breath. Wandering hands, pulling on clothes in a needy attempt to get the close proximity you both want so deeply. He pulls the air from your lungs only to breath it back into them a second later. It´s hard to do, but in the end you manage to pull away.
“It´s late. We should continue this another time.” You whisper with your forehead resting against his shoulder. Everything inside of you screams to keep going, but your brain told you to take it slow. To savor it.
“Okay. I can´t wait.” He lays a peck on the shell of your ear. Letting you go reluctantly. “Text me when you get home.”
You chuckle and step out of the car. Pulling out your phone the second you close the door behind you to text him a quick `I´m home. Had such a great time with you. Can´t wait to do this again <3´.
He watches the glow of the screen vanish behind the large window. Replying with a `Same. Sweet dreams<3´, but this time he doesn´t stay around to watch you. Instead he goes home to sink into one of the dreams he had ever since he met you. One where he watches you sleep in the morning, the rising sun and the way you lay sprawled out beside him making you look like an utter goddess. And then you wake up to give him a smile that makes him feel like he has a heart attack. It feels so real that when he wakes up to another text from you, he has to pull himself together to not mess up his carefully hatched out plan. His train of thought gets interrupted by his phone ringing.
“Good morning…” Your raspy morning voice comes out of the speaker. You sound absolutely gorgeous to him. Making his eyes roll back into his head a little.
“Good morning, doll. What´s up?” The smirk on his face is audible in his voice.
“Nothing much. I just wanted to hear your voice.” You murmur, rubbing your eyes. “Oh gods, that sounded so cheesy. I´m sorry.”
“Hey, you´re good. I actually think that´s really cute.” He muses.
“Oh? Well, I guess I don´t have to feel like it is too soon when I tell you I had the weirdest dream tonight.” You chuckle and clear your throat from the sleepiness.
“Really? Do tell.”
“I don´t know. I can only remember that we were together, in my apartment and I guess you were watching me sleep and it felt so real… I probably sound so weird right now.” You scoff at yourself. Wondering why you even told him that.
He on the other hand chuckles at your confession. Cursing himself out in his mind, to will himself to stay strong.
“I had the same dream. I hope you don´t think I´m like a stalker or obsessed or something now.” His tone is lighthearted, but the gods now he needs you to stay unconscious of that side of him. No, he wasn´t any of those things. He was looking out for you. You meant a lot to him and that meant he wanted to protect you. “So, you know. You at least aren´t weirder than I am.”
Tumblr media
Sadly you have a shit ton to study, before spring break ends and so you aren’t able to meet again in the coming days. Of course that doesn´t mean that he can´t see you though. The feeling of being watched follows you around like a burning shadow throughout that time. Yet you push it away. Telling yourself that it was probably just exam stress or social anxiety or something. Which Aegon, knowing you as well as he does, is grateful for. Usually he would hate to see you anxious or stressed, wanting to take all that burdens you off you, but when it came to him getting caught… Well, not that he was doing anything wrong, but experience has taught him, that people tended to see things differently from him.
So he stays hidden. Texting and calling you every day and watching you sink your fingers or a toy into your sweet cunt each night. Every time he is overcome by thoughts of how you would make so much sweeter sounds if it was his length that your walls where fluttering around as wave after wave of pleasure rolls over you. Each time he reminds himself anew that things are going steady with you and it would  only be a short while until those thoughts became a reality.
On one of those evenings you surprise him with another call. Curses fall from his lips under his breath as he scrambles around the corner, praying that you haven´t heard his phone.
“Hey…” He says after pressing the green button on the screen.
“Hey, is this a bad time? You sound kinda out of breath.” Your voice chirps on the line.
“No, you could never call at a bad time.” Except for now kinda. “What´s up? Didn´t you say you wanted to write all day?”
“Yeah, I did. When my friends come back tomorrow there will be little chance to do so uninterrupted, but um… I couldn´t focus. Like at all.” You murmur.
“Oh, can I do anything to help?” he purrs.
“You could get some Starbucks and come over?” You ask in the most tempting voice you could offer. Not that he needed much persuasion to tend to any of your wishes as soon as you asked.
“Sure. I´m on my way.”
“You´re the best. Thanks.” You chirp and then the only thing that can be heard on this side of the line is the tone of the disconnected call from the device in his hand. Sprinting to his car, he almost drops his keys in anticipation at the prospect of spending time with you. Basically racing to your favorite coffee shop to get coffee, and some pastries he knew would be more than happy about right now. He knew, knowing everything about you would come in handy one day.
At the same time you put your laptop to the side. Trying to find something to pass the time until he would arrive. Which was harder to do than you would have thought and so with nothing to do, you decide to put some effort in your little meeting. Sitting down in front of the small closet to look for a cute dress to put in. Getting ready just in time for a knock on the door.
“Come in, it´s open.” You yell as you go to sit back down on the couch.
“You know, you probably shouldn´t leave your door unlocked in this neighborhood. Whoa…” He stops in the doorway when he sees you.
“Wh-What?” You tilt your head and look at him with confusion in your wide eyes. You look so innocent right now.
“Do you always write like that?” Aegon puts down the snacks and vaguely motions to your outfit of choice. “Cause… If so, I want to always be around for it.”
You can´t hide the snorting laughter that forces it´s way out of your lungs. “That´s really sweet, but no. I usually don´t look like this at all when I write. In fact I usually look so much worse you would want to stay as far away from me as possible.”
“I seriously doubt I anything in this world could ever make me want to stay away from you.” Aegon lays his gentle hands on your shoulders and a feeling of warmth spreads in your guts.
You look up at him through your lashes and before you know it your eyes flutter close. Then, a moment later, your lips meet his in the most gentle kiss ever. And you don´t know when things escalate. If it is when your hands come up to cup his cheeks. If it is when you stand on your tip toes to make it easier to deepen the kiss ever so slightly or when his tongue presses against your lower lip to silently ask for entrance. The result is the same. The two of you forgot about why he came over in the first place and abandon everything to make yourselves more comfortable in the bedroom. Rolling around the mattress as you make out heavily. His hands are everywhere on your body at the same time, just as yours are on his. Each touch feels like the right thing to do. The only thing that feels even more right is the way he sinks himself into your tight, warm walls. Like he had wanted from the moment he first saw you.
He´s so careful not to hurt you and as you lay in his arms afterwards, cuddled close, his finger drawing small patterns on your shoulder, you can´t hold back the smile. This is the fastest you have ever gone this far with a person. Mostly out of fear, that they would only want to use you for it. Yet even after only one official date with him, you know there is no reason to be afraid. It´s almost funny how shortly you have known each other and yet you rely on him for everything. He knows you so well already, has an incredible gift of listening and observing, like no one else you had met before. Ever. Before you notice it, a giggle falls from your lips, just as he kisses your temple.
“What´s so funny, doll?” Fuck, even the nickname you usually hated sounded so good from his lips.
“Nothing, just… I just thought about how shortly we´ve known each other and yet we know so much about each other already. I never had that.” You say in an amused tone.
“I´m gonna go ahead and take that as a good thing.” He huffs a chuckle.
“Oh yes, definitely. I honestly love how open we can be with each other.” Oh if only you knew.
“Me too.” He mumbles into the crown of your head. Placing another peck there.
As it turns out it isn´t only the first time you sleep with him, but also the first time you spend the night together. Your activities had robbed all of your energy and with a little more quiet chatter, the two of you slide of into slumberland.
You are sad to watch him leave the next morning, but the alarm on your phone, that interrupts your romantic little breakfast that Aegon had cooked, painfully reminds you, that you promised to pick up Aly from the airport.
“I´ll call you later, okay?” You promise him as he steps out of your car.
“I can´t wait already.” He replies.
You make your way to meet your friend and of course he follows you once again. Extra careful that you don´t see his car. It wasn´t necessarily low-key after all. Things are easier once he follows you into a café that looks like no ordinary student could pay for the food there already, keeping a close eye on you as you and your friend order brunch, nothing unconventional from what you have told him about her and your other friends. He starts to toy with the idea of leaving to not get caught, when something Aly says makes his ears perk up.
“So, how is it going with your new favorite person?” Her tone is light and she wiggles her eyebrows at you.
“I already told you to stop calling him that.” You laugh at her antics. “And don´t even try calling him my boyfriend. We haven´t even been on two dates yet.”
“Yeah, alright. Not even on two dates, but he has also been inside of you and has spent the night at your place after getting you snacks simply because you asked him to…” she shoots you an unbelieving look. “Like seriously. And you haven´t even told me all the dirty little details yet. Bitch, you owe me. I thought we were friends.”
If his heart beat higher before, when the word boyfriend left your lips, it beats even higher now at the mention of your night together.
“There´s not much to tell.” You try to deflect.
Not much to tell? He asks himself. He thought he had done better than `not much to tell´.
“Oh hells no. You know I won´t let you off that easy.”  She persists.
“Alright. Okay. It was great. He was so sweet and made sure to make me come like two times before he thought about himself. You happy now?” You try to keep your voice down as much as possible so the people around you don´t hear. Which is only a half success as Aly´s squeal gets you some of the unwanted attention anyway.
“Was he big?” Her question earns a shocked expression and gasp from you. And a concealed giggle from Aegon.
“I mean I guess. You know I don´t have much to compare it to, but I´d say he was solid.” You shrug. “Now can we please change the topic? How was your time with the family.”
Aly starts on a rant about everything her family did and said and so Aegon decides to go before he truly overtaxes his luck.
As he walks by the window you are sitting close to, you think it is him, weighing the options of saying something or not, deciding against it. You were just imagining things, because Aly was talking without a single pause and you missed him. You sigh, trying to concentrate on whatever your friend was talking about.
When you finally get home it is late afternoon already and you are pretty tired, but you can´t pass up on the call you promised Aegon.
“Hello there.” He picks up.
“General Kenobi.” You answer in the fashion that the Star wars quote commands.
“How did it go with your friend?” He asks feigning genuine interest as if he hadn´t been there for the most interesting part.
“Yeah, it went well. I just got home, basically.” You sigh and rub your eyes, who were burning for some reason.
“Wow.” He huffs amusedly.
“You can say that loudly. I originally planned on asking you if you want to come over, but I totally forgot that I have an early class tomorrow that I need to prepare something for. This week is gonna kick my ass…”
“Ah, damn. So how about we meet up Friday evening? I could pick you up and we could check out this new bar that just opened.” He suggests. Knowing already what this meant for the coming days.
“That would be so cool.” A yawn interrupts what you were saying. “Gods I´m sorry I´m really tired. Would you be mad if we hang up now and I´ll text you again before class?”
“Not at all. You go ahead and do your thing. I´ll hear from you tomorrow.” He reassures you.
“Thank you. Good night, Aeg.” You chirp.
“You have a good night too and don´t overdo it with the studying.”
“I won´t, mom.” Your faux annoyed tone gets broken up by one last chuckle before the two of you hang up. You always laugh so much with him. More than with anyone else and at the same time your deep talks are on such a level you don´t know how to express it to your friends.
Tumblr media
You have always felt safe in your own home, shutting out the scary, real world. Unknowing, that someone stared at you through the large windows almost every day and night. But a window is just glass, and glass… oh it breaks so, so easily…
Friday takes forever to roll around, but when it finally does, nothing can wipe the smile from your face. Your mood is basically indestructible. As is his. You sing and dance your way all through out getting ready and when Aegon rings the bell you open the door with a spring in your step.
“Someone´s in a good mood.” Aegon muses.
“Just happy about seeing you.” You admit. Hugging him and kissing his cheek as a greeting. “Lemme just grab my purse and then we can go.”
You lock the door behind you and together he drives you out to a place that can hardly be classified as a bar. Upon entering the place you feel massively underdressed, but he doesn´t seem to care. He is just happy to be there with you and you are happy to be there with him. He asks about your week and how your writing is going while you sip one drink after another until you feel a light buzz. The alcohol making your insides feel as warm as his presence and his hand on your thigh do. Over the duration of the evening you gradually move closer, but by the time he drops you off, he lets you go with just a quick peck to your lips.
“Thank you for the nice evening.” You rub your eyes. Wanting to say something, anything to stay close to him just a bit longer, but your tired and tipsy mind can´t come up with anything.
“With you it´s always a nice evening. Now go on. Get to bed before you fall asleep in the passenger seat.” He squeezes your thigh one last time before he lets you open the door to head inside.
As always he parks his car around the corner to watch you until you fall asleep, but somehow tonight something is different.
Aegon feels a strange sensation tugging at his heart. A longing. To have you right this second. He doesn´t know what comes over him, but without a second thought he takes one of the stones in front of your window and throws it at the glass. It was meant to tap the glass, at least that´s what he tells himself, but instead it breaks it.
Fuck, Aegon curses under his breath, praying to the seven or any other deity that is willing to hear him that you didn´t wake up from the commotion. When your apartment stays silent, he decides that it isn´t safe for you alone with the broken window situation. It takes a few tries, but in the end he manages to climb through it. Keen on not making to much noise while walking over the shards on the ground, he tiptoes over to your bed.
You lay with your back towards the free side and so it is easy for him to slide in under the covers as well. He presses his chest as close to your back as possible, his hand laying innocently but protectively over your waist.
Aegon kisses your temple and silently promises to not close an eye, to watch over you, all night.
But the night is long and having you so close to him, smelling your shampoo and feeling your hips rub against his every time you shift in your sleep, makes it hard to keep his hand there. It also made him hard. The next time you shift in your sleeping state, his hand wanders down to your thighs. Once more and it lands trapped between them. Gently caressing your slit through the thin material of your leggings.
You sigh and stir lightly at his touch, but don´t wake up. Instead you just press yourself closer to him in your unconscious state. The action prompts Aegon to bite his lip to stifle the moan that wants to break free from his lungs. He can´t give himself away like this. He would only scare you and that is the last thing he wants to do. You simply look so good, how could anyone help themselves. You can be lucky he is there to watch over you.
A quiet moan comes from you as he continues his ministrations. The touch barely light enough to tease, but that heavenly sound pushes him further.
His hand slips underneath the waistband, past your lace panties and finds your already wet heat.
“Fuck.” He whispers, pushing two of his thick fingers inside of your entrance. He wants to take things so much further, but if he wants you to stay asleep he has to be careful. He pumps the two digits in and out of you at a slow pace. Feeling you grow even wetter as you squirm, quiet moans the only tell for the pleasurable feeling you are experiencing. He speeds up the movement of his fingers slightly, until he can´t take the lewd noises coming from your core anymore. He just has to taste you or he was sure he would die right then and there.
He shifts his position on the mattress, turning you onto your back, pausing when you stir again, moving to lay between your legs. Your pants are discarded and carelessly thrown to the side, before he dives in for the first taste of your heavenly center. He regrets not taking the time to appreciate your body the way it deserves, but he needs you so much there is no time for that now. His tongue licks a stripe up the length of your cunt, moaning at the sweet taste. And when he hears your own quiet moan and sees how you bring your hips closer to his face he is unstoppable. His tongue delves into you, fucking you with it and recklessly. Reaping every single one of your little noises and movements. He is so far gone that he doesn´t even realize, that with every new stir you start to wake up a little more.
At first your mind is still foggy with sleep and the pleasurable feeling his lips and tongue bring you. Your hand instinctively treads itself into his hair. But when you fully come to You scramble backwards until your back hits the headboard. His mouth chasing after you before he realizes what has happened and looks up at you.
“Aegon?! What are you doing here?” You gasp.
“Shh, it´s okay. Just let me worship you in the way you deserve.” Aegon slides his hand up your calf in a feather light touch.
“How did you get in here?” You ask, becoming more panicked.
“The door. I told you, you need to be more careful. You are lucky I came here to protect you.” His voice is soothing and so deep. And so you relax a little, leaning back as he resumes his previous activities.
Tumblr media
But somehow something just feels wrong. Like a feeling in your gut. This is so unlike anything he has shown you of himself. Thinking about it he hadn´t shown you all that much in the first place. And that feeling just won´t let itself be shaken off so you shove his head away once more.
“Can we please just go back to sleep? I don´t really feel entirely in the mood right now.”
“Oh doll, that sounded much different a while ago. I didn´t even touch you all that much, yet you were still soaking those lace panties for me.” He climbs on top of you, rasping the words into your ear. “And the position I found you laying in… You´re such a fucking tease. It´s like you were begging for it.”
A sickening cold fear spreads in your system. A yelp leaving your mouth as he pulls you down by the ankle so your core is pressed to his. You are too in shock to return his kiss when he forcefully presses his mouth to yours. This is not the Aegon you know, but something tells you that this is the real Aegon. Coming back from the shocked state, you try to push him away. Hands pressed to his chest and legs eagerly searching for a way out, but he is too strong.
“I don´t want this, Aegon. Please stop.” You whimper into his shoulder as he mouths at your neck. Nibbling at all the most sensitive spots. Hating yourself for the growing even wetter as he rubs his length against your core. You don´t even know how or when he rid himself of his own pants. All you know is, that he now is pulling on your night shirt. Eager to get it off while simultaneously pinning your wrists down over your head so you would stop pushing him away.
As it turns out it is harder to do than imagined and so another yelp falls from your lips as he rips the fabric off your body. Your chest moving with fast and harsh breaths.
“Shh, everything´s alright. I´m here to take care of you.” He silences you with another unrequited, bruising kiss.
You are helpless against him, squirming and writhing underneath his much larger frame. This whole situation is so absurd and to add to all of it, when you bite his lower lip in a desperate attempt of self defense and getting the upper hand, he simply laughs. Tears start to prick in your eyes as the sound reaches your ears. As much as you want to blink them away they free themselves. Running down your burning cheeks accompanied  by a sob.
“Aww, don´t cry doll. I´m going to  make you feel so good. Just relax and let it wash over you.” His free hand wanders down to roughly caress one of your breasts. Rolling and tweaking the nipple between his fingers until the bundle of nerves stands hard at attention and your back arches off the bed. Which he takes as the sign to go ahead in what he is doing. Bringing his mouth down to the other breast, sucking and kissing on it until that nipple looks much the same like the other.
With one swift motion Aegon pushes inside of you, his cock stretching you out like no one had before. It is nothing like your first time together. He immediately starts to thrust inside of you at a fast pace.
"Aegon... please... st-op." You cry out to him to no avail.
Rutting into you at an almost breakneck pace. His head bows down and you feel puffs of hot breath hit the skin where your neck and shoulder meet. The feeling is utterly upsetting and you want to throw up at the same time you lost all the strength in your body. It´s all futile.
“I already told you I´m not gonna stop. You know deep down that you enjoy this. So why don´t you make this easier for yourself and stop fighting it.” His teeth sink into your tender skin harshly.
"Aahhh! Fuck, that hurts! Why are you doing this?" You question him.
"Because you deserve to be worshipped. You are a goddess walking amongst men." He nibbles on your ear. Much softer than the bite before, but that doesn't make anything better.
His hips continue to piston into yours. The sound of wet skin slapping against skin filling the otherwise quiet apartment alongside with your bitter cries. The moon outside is the only source of light illuminating his features.
You try to turn your head away from him, but he forces it back by your chin. So instead you close your eyes. You can´t stand to look at him anymore. His face that looked so sweet and innocent to you before is now distorted into a grimace of sick pleasure. Eyes closely watching your every reaction and a sheen of sweat covering his skin, sticking the front locks of his silver blond hair to his forehead.
With a few more thrusts he comes inside of you and for a short moment you have the hope that this is it. Aegon relaxes against you, but as your cries become weaker you notice how he only seems to get harder inside your warmth.
“Can you please let me go now?” You try again with a quiet, shaky voice.
“Oh, you think I am done with you yet? No no no. We are done when you come around my cock and accept me for who I am. What you made me.” His tone is nothing short of condescending and he tuts at you as your crying grows hysterical again.
You guess the gesture is supposed to soothe you, but it has the exact opposite effect.
You cry yourself into a near state of incoherency as he pushes your knees up against your chest forcefully, giving him a whole new angle inside of you. The way the head of his cock bullies your sweet spot is the final straw. It hurts. Despite it feeling so wrong it feels so good. You hate yourself even more as inadvertent pleasure runs through you like electricity. Making your toes curl and your eyes roll back. You scream louder with every thrust of his until you are near voiceless. You try to remind yourself that your body reacting to it doesn´t make it any more right and it doesn´t mean that you secretly enjoy it. But it´s so hard.
“You like it deep, don´t you?” Aegon´s voice in your ear painfully pulls you back into reality.
“Please.” You beg one last time, but the plea, just like all the others, falls onto deaf ears.
Your body gives up any last fight it has left. Quietly sobbing when your walls flutter around him and your hips start to shake. A wave of pleasure, or maybe just disguised shame, washes over you, provoking Aegon´s second orgasm.
“You are mine. You will never leave me. No one can love you like I do.” His voice sounds so soft. So genuine.
You almost want to believe him, but that would require a level of coherency you currently do not possess.
As you lay there with your whole body shaking, trying to come down from this experience and waiting for what he would do next, you ask yourself where things had gone wrong. What did you do to provoke this? To deserve this? Yet no matter how hard you pray to the seven for a sign or anything at all really, you don´t get an answer.

Happy(?) Birthday! Pt.1/2
Lucifer x Reader!
Fandom: Hazbin hotel
Content Warning: Angst to comfort, Birthday blues, another vent fic! (mb) Neglected/Abandoned friendship. Also this fic takes place in like a Highschool AU? I guess.
Synopsis: It’s your birthday! Who could possibly forget that?
Further Note: ITS MY BIRTHDAY RAHHH (4/11)
(Insert bday art here idk lol im working on it)
You sighed as you stared out the window on the second floor, head resting under your hand as you leaned into your desk. You watched the birds chirping in the trees, neglecting your work assignment your teacher had given you twenty minutes ago. You never did your work in the first place anyways, you were always doodling or drawing on them, not feeling motivated to do much else.
You heard footsteps approaching you while you were daydreaming, you turn to see your teacher had placed your paperwork down onto your desk, not giving you a glance. You look down at the paper seeing the usual grade you always get, another ‘F’ like anything else. Usually you just don’t turn in any paperwork, you grab your paper from the desk and shoved it in your bag, it already being long forgotten.
You looked out the window again, gray clouds covering the sky, making the day feel all the more duller. Halfway through the day, the bell rang, signaling it was time for lunch. It was the only time you actually enjoyed throughout the day, all your friends and you would hangout together for the good hour of the school day, you grabbed your bag again, putting it against your back, standing up and leaving the classroom. Many kids your age had walked past you, talking to their friends, going to classes and hallways to meet and hang out, the same you were about to do.
You turned in the hallway towards the stairs, following down as the kids flooded every corner of the building. After escaping the staircase you walked down the long hall that passed by the principals office and school library, reaching the cafeteria that held kids as they shouted and ran. The school felt flawed on how many open windows there were, letting random public eyes stare through the schools windows, seeing the many children that were in the facility, it really did bother you but no one seemed to care at all. You put your bag down at one of the small tables in the cafeteria room, walking to the lunch line to get your ‘healthy nutritional meal’ the schools claims them to be.
You scrolled through your phone as you waited, feeling the anxiety gnawing at your body as if the whole school was staring at you. They weren’t obviously but it still felt that way no matter what you did. It was terrible. Your anxiety chipped away when you saw Lucifer walk in the cafeteria, placing his bag next to yours, he saw you waiting in line and waved at you with a cheery smile, you waved back, smiling as well shyly.
He hopped in line with you, not caring what others think. You craved his confidence, confidence that gave you the ability to express yourself without caring or feeling everyone’s judgment upon you. “Happy birthday, Y/n!” He chimed loudly, making your heart sink from the attention you were nothing gathering but you tried your best to brush it off as you tried to keep your focus on your best friend of three years. “Oh, thanks Lulu..” you say nervously, hugging your arm.
“I made you a little something for your birthday but I’ll show you after we get our lunch!” He says excitedly while you both stepped further in the line, grabbing trays and a small milk carton to drink and putting them on your trays, stepping further down the line, getting your meals next, “so what do you plan on doing today?” He asked, looking at you with his ruby red eyes and rosy red cheeks, making your face heat up, “oh, uh.. nothing really..” you say, saddening at the loss of what to do, you felt like it was just a day closer to death and it made you worry.
“Aw don’t worry,” he says nudging you a little, “we can think of something together!” He smiles at you, his fangs showing as he tilted his head. You smiled and looked away, your face feeling more hotter the longer he stared at you.
After you both had got your meals, you both sat down together at the small circular empty table, making you wonder, “where is everyone else?” You asked, looking at Lucifer while he dug in his bag after putting his food down, “oh they’re hanging out with other people today in clubs! Wanted to join em but I didn’t want to leave you here by yourself.” He says as he pulled out a paper, turning to you, “here, I made this for you!” He says, eagerly showing his gift, it was a drawing of you and a bunch of ducks… as if he doodled them out of boredom, “oh, thank you so much Lulu.” You smiled, taking the drawing from him and admiring it with a smile, “it’s really cute.” “yeah? I’m glad!” He says, zipping up his bag and putting it on his back, picking up his tray, “I got to hangout with someone today, we have to discuss our project together but I promise to come back!” He smiles at you comfortingly as your smile faltered, “oh, alright then.” You say as you bring your smile back on your face slightly, trusting he would keep his word.
He left the cafeteria, leaving you alone with no one else. When the year began, your lunch table would be full of your friends, filled with even your friend’s friends, then later over time, your friends started separating in different hang out spots, leaving you here now, alone at your table on your birthday. You sighed as you waited for Lucifer to return, those seconds turned into minutes as time went by, your lunch felt unbearably long as you sat there listening to the other kids around you laughing and smiling, enjoying each others company as they conversed, making you feel all the more lonely. You felt too anxious to try and look for him, wandering the halls while people even gave you a glance in the halls was the last thing you wanted. You wish you could have just been invisible, you think it’s all the better to avoid everyone. Well, it’s not like the opposite is happening to you currently, who would want to even talk to you? You poked at your food, not feeling hungry and definitely not eating whatever the school serves.. it doesn’t even look nutritious or healthy.
You decided to throw your meal away, seeing as Lucifer hadn’t come back yet and lunch was almost over, you still expected him to come, even if he was a little late. He promised. You decided to go on your phone, distracting yourself with the little time there was and not before long; the bell rang.
It seemed like he did forget, even though he promised.
You sighed sadly, slightly betrayed by the trust of that promise, you were going to talk to him about it later.
You opened your bag and took out your binder before you left the cafeteria, staring down at your feet as you held the binder, hugging it. You avoided everyone’s and anyone’s gaze as you walked down the hall, your next class was upstairs, so you had walked up the crowded stairs, feeling your anxiety gnawing you as everyone pushed to go up the steps, when you made it out, you exhaled a breath quietly, not noticing you were holding it. You went to your next classroom door, waiting there as you held your binder, finding comfort in it as if it was like a shield from the world, it wasn’t long before you heard a familiar and loud laugh, you looked up and saw Lucifer with Lilith, he was smiling widely as he walked past you, not even acknowledging or noticing you, your heart sank, it further confirmed that he had actually forgotten about you and it hurt you. You raised your binder up to your face, hiding the tears forming from watching Lucifer happily spend time with someone else rather than you.
To you, Lucifer was your first. In a room full of people, you would choose Lucifer but as you watched Lucifer walk down the hall, looking at Lilith so attentively, you could tell he would never choose you. The thought made you go further into a rabbit hole, if Lucifer was the closest person to you in all the people you have had ever met.. does that mean no one would choose you as their first? You sucked in a breath, feeling your tears start to flow, you immediately wiped them away, your anxiety rising in you again, you were afraid someone would start asking questions or concerns and that would make your crying worse.
The teacher finally opened the door and you walked in first, looking down and using your hair to hide your tears, you sat at a desk that was at the corner of the wall, you turned to it, hiding your reddened face. You quietly sniffled as you used your sweaters sleeves to wipe and clean your face, you tried to distract yourself with something else, trying to stop the tears and thoughts, embarrassed to cry in public. You just wanted to go home and hide in your bed, hide away from the world.
You ignored the teacher as she began to ramble on with her lecture, you picked up your pencil and pulled out a paper from your binder, drawing and doodling to distract yourself. You felt completely blue, you didn’t feel like it was your birthday anymore after seeing Lucifer had forgotten or stopped caring about it anymore, you looked at the drawing he had made you and you were holding onto that sliver of hope that maybe he just didn’t notice you in the hallway and you were just being dramatic, thats all.
You lied to yourself, finding a sliver of comfort in it and that was the whole point. You always lied to comfort yourself, it was a coping mechanism at this point and it was the only comfort you could find in your life currently. When you pulled out the drawing Lucifer had made and saw yourself smiling on the paper, you wish you had felt the same way the drawing had did. You wanted to just have a birthday where you sat at the middle of the table, a cake in front of you lit in candles, you wanted all your friends and family to be surrounding you, singing and telling happy birthday with smiles on their faces, it’s all you wanted for your simple birthday.
Although you couldn’t see it being true to happen, you could just daydream and even draw it the scenario and thats what you did. You drew yourself and all those ‘friends’ you had, it was terribly made but it made you somewhat smile, you felt like you were in the drawing somewhat, like it actually happened and wasn’t just a doodle to cope, it felt surreal.
after one drawing, you drew another, indulging yourself in a fantasy with art, you kept drawing yourself in scenarios of you and characters you had made, blocking out the reality of your classes and school assignments as you were wallowed up in your own world, living in it now.
You had spent the entire day drawing, relieved school was now over for the day, you got the chance to finally look for Lucifer and talk to him, hoping he didn’t just completely forget you like everyone else had.
After going down the hallways, heading toward the front of the school for buses and car pick ups, you saw Lucifer talking with Lilith but that didn’t matter, what mattered was that he would go to your party - if he even remembered.
“Hey Lucifer, are you still going to my party?” you chimed, throwing your anxiety and intrusive thoughts out the window for a moment to ask him that question genuinely. You had spoke rather loudly, alerting people around you but you definitely caught Lucifers attention, when he turned to you, your smile faltered. Lucifer was looking at you and not in a pleasant way either, he looked at you with an estranged look, like as if you were a stranger and was confused as to why you were even inviting him to such an event. It made you step back in surprise from his expression, you looked around you and saw people staring at you, Lilith included and it made your heart sink, your anxiety spiking from the judgmental looks that surrounded you.
You began to panic, seeing all eyes were on you now, you waved at Lucifer, laughing nervously as you wanted to leave the situation quickly, “nevermind, i’ll figure it out!” You say awkwardly before walking out the building rather quickly. You hid at a corner of the school panting, you threw your bag to the side as you leaned against the wall and sat down, hugging yourself as you tried to calm your breathing, your tears falling down your face from the stress of the situation you were in a moment ago.
You wiped your face, hearing your phone in your pocket buzz. It was your mom, she texted you that she was here to pick you up, you felt rather relieved. You didn’t have to endure the bus ride home and you could avoid Lucifer too, you cleaned your face as quickly and perfectly as you could, grabbing your bag as you stood up to text your mom where you were specifically.
After a bit, your tears dried up and your mom drove to the lot, you walked to the car, getting in as you set your beg next to you, looking at your mom with a smile.
It was a comfortable drive, your mom had asked you what you had wanted for your birthday, a cake was included. As you spent time with your momma, you had gotten yourself a laptop, your mother agreeing to pay it for you, you were happy and rather excited to be able to use the new device for your school work (further art projects).
The way home was rather rejuvenating from the dreadful day you had to endure, feeling like no one had wanted to even or care about your day of your birth, your mom had made it all the more better, he sweet smile and a song chimed of your birthday, your family somewhat cared, they cared more than what you had expected, it was much but it was just enough for you to feel better about your day.
You had clicked and messed with your new laptop your mom had gifted you, not caring about the know at your door. You saw your mom was on her way to open it anyways so you didn’t bother as you kept typing in your notes and opening sites as you smiled only for time to stop when you heard a familiar male voice at the door, asking and calling for you, “Y/n is home right? I didn’t see her at the bus stop on the way home like we were supposed to.”
You stood up to go to the front door curiously, your mom smiled as she spoke, “yes, shes right here!” she chimed, turning to you and gesturing you to talk with your friend at the door, you saw the familiar blonde and immediately knew it was Lucifer, you wanted to just close the door but that would make your mom raise concerns you didn’t want her to worry about, “Happy Birthday Y/n.” Lucifer smiled at you, dressed somewhat formally, he was wearing something different than what he wore at school, you smiled nervously as you avoided his gaze, “thanks..” you say as you fiddled with the front door knob, kinda just wanting to hide away in your room now.

Grantaire appreciation in les mis us tour
Last week I went to see Les Miserables and I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it.. 🥹🥹🥹
A month before going to see the musical I learned about the fandom surrounding Grantaire/Enjoltaire. Somehow I didn't know about Enjoltaire/ the fandom previously?? I spent the entire musical watching how Kyle Adams played Grantaire lol 😁
Small things I noticed
Red and Black
Grantaire turning towards Enjolras but Enjolras is ignoring him so he goes towards the other ABC members instead
The way Grantaire’s flowy jacket moves when he walks!!!
Grantaire raising his bottle towards Enjolras but Enjolras ignores him
Grantaire leaning his head on an ABC member’s shoulder while watching Enjolras sing
Grantaire doing small skips and hops, overall the way he moves is very unique and fun to watch and communicates his personality so well
Blowing a kiss to Enjolras at the end of the song!!!
Grantaire giving Gavroche his alcohol
Grantaire taking care of Gavroche towards the end of the song 🥹
Do you hear the people sing
Grantaire and Gavroche walking together 🥹💗
After intermission
Grantaire and Enjolras briefly talked and Enjolras handed him a gun
I couldn’t make out what they said to each other 😭
Grantaire is in charge of keeping track of Javert
Drink with me
Enjolras trying to grab Grantaire’s arm (twice?) but Grantaire pushes him away
Grantaire singing while facing Gavroche and Enjolras
Grantaire and Gavroche going to lie down in a corner 😭
Little people
Everyone is turned around to watch Gavroche climb the barricade but Grantaire is facing the audience and you can see his expression and it's clear he knows what's going to happen :(
Grantaire taking Gavroche’s dead body and staying with him :(
Enjolras holding onto Grantaire??? Before going up the barricade and dying???
Grantaire is the last one alive, runs up to the barricade without a weapon and dies as though he’s given up since all his friends are dead ☹️
I was disappointed that they didn’t have a moment where Enjolras holds onto Grantaire in “Drink with me” as some other versions of the musical do (see the Enjoltaire compilation on youtube lol) but instead they had a moment together right before Enjolras died which makes it even more heartbreaking!!!
The wedding
I was sad that Grantaire is gone but I think Kyle Adam’s came back as a character in the Wedding? (he was also a stunned customer in Master of the House and in another scene wearing red I think)
He was doing more small skips that reminded me of the way Grantaire moves :D
Overall Kyle Adam’s performance as Grantaire was so amazing. The way he moves and his subtle acting made it so fun to watch!!! I wish I could see the musical 100 thousand times 😭, there’s definitely moments that I forgot or misremembered.
What am I supposed to do now that I’ve seen the musical but I can’t go rewatch the parts that I keep thinking about??????? I might read the book 😢
I hope Kyle Adams knows that I really really appreciated every small detail about his performance. Overall the musical was amazing. It’s my absolute favourite musical of all time 😭. I wish I could see it again and I can’t stop thinking about it! ❤️

Sam & Dean are, in fact, soulmates
It’s rant time again! (Sorry)
I saw an idiotic interesting take on Twitter last night where someone claimed that Sam and Dean aren’t soulmates, and that they couldn’t understand how anyone could interpret it that way (particularly referring to "Dark Side of the Moon"). And they actually wondered what show soulmate-truthers (my term) were watching.
Umm, the actual show?
I’ve paraphrased the comment slightly and replies slightly, and I’m not posting a pic of the actual post, because I’m going to try not do that on this blog, but also, this person is just like the others in the replies (and in fandom) who “interpret” the show a certain way because it suits their destiel narrative. They all drank the cool-aid, so why single one out? At the same time, this take shows so little media literacy that it pisses me off. Thus, the rant.
Tumblr media
Please do read on if you’re interested.
One argument I saw under this tweet was that Dean needed to find a road to lead him to Sam, so it proves they weren’t in the same heaven.
Tumblr media
Wrong.
If they weren’t in the same heaven, Dean wouldn’t have been able to find Sam. Period. We know this because Ash has to do a little spell thing in order for them to leave their heaven (“Winchester Land”) at all. They can’t just jump heavens on their own. We also see this in later seasons. People just don’t hop into each others’ heavens without some sort of help.
Tumblr media
Another stupid argument I saw is that Sam and Dean can’t be soulmates because "they’re BROTHERS!”
Wrong Again!
While having a soulmate is often (maybe even most often) seen as a romantic trope, being soulmates is actually not inherently romantic. Let’s even just stay on the WB/CW level for this one for a minute. Dawson and Joey consider themselves soulmates in Dawson’s Creek, but they don’t make a good couple, they work better as friends, and they don’t end up together. While they aren’t entirely platonic, them being soulmates ultimately isn’t about romantic love either. Sorry, I stumbled onto a reactor watching this show lately, so it’s fresh in my mind. You could also make arguments for Xander and Willow, Joey and Phoebe, or Christina and Meredith (Grey’s Anatomy calls it “my person” being science-based, but it amounts to the same thing). Ultimately, being soulmates just means two people have an incredibly close bond, love each other dearly, understand each other on a deeper level than most, and often need each other. Despite what some hellers think, not all love and closeness is sexual or romantic. Finally, if someone sees being soulmates as having to be romantic, they should probably take it up with Kripke.
Tumblr media
Anyway, let’s round this rant off at three flawed arguments with this one: people are “free” (passive aggressive) to interpret the episode how they “like,” but Sam and Dean bring soulmates is not actually supported by the episode.
Ugh!
Why the hell would the writers have Ash even mention soulmates in the scene at all, if it wasn’t to tell the audience (and the boys) something important about the characters? Knowing that soulmates share a heaven isn’t necessary to the plot at this moment (if they aren’t soulmates). We have been told people have individual heavens in most cases, so we don’t need to know the soulmate exception to generally understand how heaven works. But we do get this bit of exposition because 1) it tells us why Dean was able to find Sam on his own (with no spells, even though people don’t usually share a space), and 2) because it tells us the info that they are soulmates, bound together no matter what. It deepens their whole tangled up relationship, for better or worse. Is it a bit unusual for brothers to be soulmates? Yes! That’s the whole point. Sam and Dean are weird. This is not news. Where have these people been for the last 4.5 seasons??
Also, Ash looks directly at Sam and Dean after he drops the soulmate bomb. And each of them looks uncomfortable. The scene takes a beat here, a short one but it’s clear, so the audience can acknowledge this info. Why would the camera focus on the characters’ reactions if the soulmates line was a just a random little nugget of info? People hellers will write whole distractions on the significance of “parallels” between characters and “interpret” scenes using head-canons as support, but they can’t don’t want to understand that the camera lingering on the brothers when they learn information about themselves is significant? Also, it suggests in the script that Ash looks away from them to give them a minute to process this info. Why would he care if it didn’t pertain to them? (Hellers. Have. No. Media. Literacy.). Sam and Dean are soulmates. It’s canon.
Tumblr media
Also, this is another episode but it adds confirmation. In 15x20, Dean feels Sam on the bridge in the new heaven before he sees or hears him. Thus. Soulmates!

Me, Myself, and These Guys Who Kinda Look Like Me Ch. 4
Fandom: Sanders Sides
Pairings: Thomas/The Sides
Summary: It starts with dreams. Then Thomas starts seeing the dream people in the waking world.
Thomas doesn't know how to bring it up to anybody or if he even should at this point.
AKA, Thomas has to acknowledge the six colorful characters in the room, much to their long-awaited delight.
Ao3 Link: click here
Chapter 1, Chapter 2, Chapter 3
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dinner is served. Thomas eats. The afternoon drags on into dusk.
The others entertain him by breaking more laws of physics. Patton hops through the back door, going in and out, playing the oddest, most endearing game of peek-a-boo at random intervals. Roman demonstrates 'sinking out'. Thomas's eyes bug out as the princely man floats down into the carpet and levitates up again in a self-satisfied twirl. Thomas swears he hears fanfare music accompanying him.
Virgil inches over to where Logan rummages around in the entertainment center cabinet. At first, he hisses at Logan not to be nosey and that he hadn't even asked Thomas for permission. Thomas belatedly says it's okay and is more curious as to what Logan's looking for.
"A distraction." Logan smirks and dives into Thomas's video game collection. With a small 'aha", he pulls out a familiar sci-fi title. "This could offer a way to engage you without overwhelming you."
Patton pokes his head back through the door. "Are you sure you're not saying that just because you want to play Portal, Logan?"
Logan's cheeks don't color, but he becomes increasingly jittery. "While I do not deny that the game mechanics and puzzles are fascinating, this is not about my interests. This is for Thomas's benefit."
"Are you sure?" Virgil asks.
"Positive."
"But are you sure, sure?"
"Redundant. You are being redundant."
"Says the guy who just said redundant twice."
Thomas moves his bowl of finished ramen onto the coffee table. He winces as he imagines what his sink must look like. He can't remember the last time he washed dishes.
"I'm not sure I'm up for gaming," Thomas admits, "but I wouldn't mind watching you guys play."
It takes another round of assurances until he convinces them. Once placated, the excitement in Logan's eyes is unrestrained. It's...pretty freaking cute in a nerdy way. Logan pulls out Portal 2 so that he can play co-op with Virgil, who is unanimously volunteered as tribute by everyone but himself.
"Fine, but you're going down, Specs," Virgil snarks.
"Virgil, this is not a competitive game. We will need to work together."
"We'll see about that."
And Thomas witnesses these guys play video games for what must be the first time in their limited lives. Delight drips from Logan as they finish the first puzzle. He looks to Virgil, eyes the size of saucers and smile toothy. "We did it!"
For once since Thomas woke up this morning, he is not the center of attention. Roman and Patton share quips and provide commentary like they're in a sporting arena. Virgil finds clever ways to be a nuisance in the game. And Logan doesn't mind any of it, too busy enjoying the thrill of playing.
Thomas feels both apart and included. He's watching from the outside, but he can come inside whenever he wants too. It's a shared sense of happiness that takes him by surprise.
Did these guys ever get lonely, even when having each other?
He spends the evening listening to the bustle of laughter and witty remarks, and he doesn't mind the noise as much as he did earlier. He wonders if these people could become his friends. He wonders if he would mind it. There's an unreserved piece of his heart, the one that has been hurt many times, that stubbornly beats and tells him it will work out.
On a whim, he retrieves his phone and sends out some texts to his friends. He messages his parents too and tells them that he's still sick but thankfully on the mend. He answers a few emails, checks on a couple of impending due dates for bills.
He thinks about other multi-player games they might like, and all the other things they've dreamed about being able to do.
Thomas has always been a dreamer. Why would it be bad to help them achieve theirs? Surely they had mile-long lists of things they always wanted to try. Shouldn't it be Thomas's responsibility to help them now that he can?
More than that, he just kinda wants to keep seeing them smile.
There's no more heavy talk that day. Thomas rests and thinks of questions he'll ask them in the future, but he doesn't want to ruin the moment right now.
He's nearly falling asleep on the couch again when Roman taps at his shoulder.
"Princes also need their beauty sleep," Roman teases. His smile is winsome and his hair does that curly swoop thing to the bangs that is unfairly perfect.
"That's what I was trying to do though," Thomas says sleepily.
"Not on the couch, you heathen. You have a wonderfully expensive bed waiting for you upstairs."
"But it's so far."
Roman puts a hand to his own chest and holds out his other hand. His poise is charming, expression indulging. "Shall I carry you then?"
Thomas honestly considers it for longer than he should.
That's way too much too soon. Probably. Maybe. Also Thomas is not a small man by any means. There's no way Roman could manage to carry him upstairs. The fantasy of being swept up into the strong arms of a handsome man is good and all until you're reminded of gravity.
"Tempting, but I should probably stretch my legs."
"Suit yourself," Roman teases. He glances to the others thoughtfully, seeing them still absorbed. Roman's jaw works back and forth absently. "Would you mind terribly if we..."
Thomas offers an understanding smile. "You guys play for as long as you want. It won't bother me a bit."
The answering ear-to-ear smile makes everything worth it.
***
When he's lying in bed curled up around his best bear Benjamin, Thomas spends the initial time not relaxing and instead straining to hear sounds from downstairs.
They had all wished him good night and promised to keep it down. They asked if he need anything, and they made him promise that he would call for them if he started feeling too sick again.
Now they were down there, chilling in his living room, the faintest of whispers. He can't hear the TV at all. Mostly he hears the whir of his ceiling fan and the wind picking up outside. Some branches scratch against the wall, and Thomas checks on his weather app to ensure there isn't a storm rolling in. It's not, it's just windy.
There's a few minutes where he hears the clatter of dishes moving in the kitchen sink. He pictures Logan rinsing out his ramen bowl. He imagines Roman trailing after him, unable to be ignored. He thinks Patton would jump in for a turn at games and he can see him sitting on the floor with Virgil, bumping shoulders while the emo failed at pretending to like it. He visualizes Remus falling through the ceiling, giving them a start and asking what they're up to. He wonders if Bowler Hat will make another appearance at some point or remain aloof.
He could get out of bed at any time and go down there, and they'd still be there. A swarm of potential excuses crosses his mind, then he dismisses them just as swiftly. He doesn't know why he wants to. He'll see them again in the morning. All he needs now is sleep.
His restless mind eventually putters out of fuel. As he dozes off, he remembers how Remus disappeared in his closet. He should have checked to see if he was in there again, but the thought slips under blankets and exhaustion. It's been a long day, and he doesn't want to think about tomorrow.
He dreams of endless hallways. He walks down corridors without paintings, without pictures, without life. There are doors, so many doors. No matter the turns he takes, they're still there, pitch black and damning.
He doesn't want to see what's behind them. He doesn't want them to open. He'll scream if they pull him in.
His legs are made of lead. He trudges through quicksand, so thick and heavy until he loses strength. He falls forward.
He falls. Falls, falls, falls until he pitches forward. Gravity reverses and he's standing up.
There are no more hallways. It's nothing but a white abyss here.
Somehow the light is more terrifying.
Thomas sits up in his bed. His heart drums a thunderous beat against his ribcage. It's a disorienting minute of stillness. Of coming back to reality piece by piece. He's not panting, but he shakes minutely in a cold sweat. His mouth is bone dry, his tongue like clumped mud.
He paws around in the bed, grabbing at the comforter. He doesn't know what he's looking for and he doesn't find anything. He just needs to assure himself that there's nothing in the bed that will get him.
The only light in the bedroom comes from the scarce glow of his digital alarm clock. It's a red hue that claims it's past two in the morning. It's the middle of the night and anything can happen.
The fear crawls up his exposed arms and neck. His nervous system warns him that he is easy prey, sitting here alone in the dark.
"Hello?" Thomas's voice is wrecked from sleep. It comes out in a pathetic rasp. He sounds so childish to his own ears, but he doesn't care. Anything to find comfort.
Movement to his left. He freezes and watches as one half of the curtains is pushed back enough to let in the distant streetlight. It's enough to partially illuminate a figure sitting in his chair by the window. Thomas squints to make out the shape.
"You rang?" a low voice croons. It oozes confidence where Thomas has none. There is the brim of a hat, the arch of a gloved knuckle. Half a face peers at him from the darkness.
"You're- you're here," Thomas says in an effort to ground himself.
"That I am."
"Is it... is it just you?" He doesn't know if he fears any of the others being here, or something else being hidden amongst them.
"It's just me, I promise."
Thomas pushes off his stifling blankets. He sits up straighter, pulling at his damp shirt collar and wiping at his mouth.
Get yourself together, Sanders.
"Did you need anything?" Bowler Hat asks, not unkindly. He keeps holding the curtain open to show Thomas he's still there. The part of his face that Thomas can see appears sharp and pale as parchment. For reasons he can't explain, it's a balm to his anxiety.
Thomas shakes his head before he truly considers the question. He takes slow intakes of breath to steady himself. "How long have been here?"
Of all the dream people, he has interacted with this man the least. He can't quite wrap his head around him. He's so...different, to say the least. As eager as the others have been about this whole ordeal, he can't see Bowler Hat reacting with the same amount of chaotic enthusiasm. Whereas with the others he had just spent an evening hanging out and playing video games, Bowler Hat seems more... professional. Adult. He doesn't know, just different.
Not to mention the guy hasn't even told him his name. How strange it is to have a man in his bedroom and not know his name. A mystery on top of mysteries.
After a lengthy pause, Bowler Hat answers vaguely, "For a bit. Are you alright?"
Thomas gives a humorless chuckle. "Just...coming back down to Earth. Bad dream, that's all."
"I'm sorry to hear that," the other says gently. "Do you want to talk about it?"
"Actually... can I ask you something first?"
Bowler Hat waves his other hand towards him. Thomas almost misses the movement in the shadows, and then he takes too long to realize that it is his way of telling him to continue.
"Right, so. You know how I said I dreamt about you guys before?"
"Yes, I recall."
"Did... Do you guys... Do you control that? Can you control that? I don't think anyone said."
"You mean, are we impressing our wills upon you purposefully in your sleep?"
"Yeah, I guess that."
"...which would frighten you more? To know if we do or to know if it's out of our control?"
Thomas worries a lip between his teeth.
None of them have seemed...malicious. In fact, they had reacted wonderfully surprised to know that Thomas dreamt of them. But then the conversation carried on before Thomas could confirm the part they played in them. How much power they possessed.
They wouldn't give him nightmares, right? Not on purpose? If they did, to what end?
Thomas releases a torrent of breath. "I just want to know the truth mostly."
The curtain sways closed, and the corner settles back into lightlessness.
"No, Thomas. We were not aware that we were affecting your dreams. Nor do we have any knowledge of what those dreams entail. They are your own."
"Then why did I dream of you?"
"Why do we exist in the first place? Why did the universe create us to haunt you specifically? I wish I could tell you, but I can't."
Right, they're all in the same boat. The boat of not having answers to all the weirdness.
Whatever you do, don't rock the boat.
"I know this is random, but I feel like you should have an English accent."
A bark of laughter breaks the quiet a little too loudly. It sends Thomas reeling and he's absurdly proud of himself for a split second for making the sensible man laugh. That is until he plays back his words on repeat in rapid succession.
God, can he sound stupider?
Bowler Hat shifts in his seat, and Thomas wonders if he's smiling or grimacing. "I'm deciding to take that as a compliment."
Thomas finger-guns to cover up his awkwardness. Then he yells at himself internally because it's not like Bowler Hat can see him. For the better, really. Thomas doesn't want to seem like more of a dork that he is.
"Thomasss," the other calls to him, dragging out the 's' in a beckoning voice. Thomas sits up ram-rod straight at the change in tone.
"Y-yeah?"
"What did you dream of?"
Oh, right. He did promise to tell him. He twiddles his thumbs in circles, mules over the likelihood of changing the subject. Even if he can't see the other staring at him, he can feel the intensity. It's like a parent knowing that their kid is up to no good and waiting patiently for them to spill the beans.
Thomas spills all of his beans. "It wasn't even scary, not really. There was just this...feeling. There were all these halls and doors and I fell into...a light? It was all white. Like a giant white space. I didn't know how to get out and– I guess I just felt trapped."
"I'm no expert, but could it be your subconscious is trying to tell you something?"
"That I fear long hallways?"
"Yes. It definitely has nothing to do with six people materializing around you that you're now stuck with 24/7. That wouldn't make me feel trapped at all."
"Well when you put it like that..."
Bowler Hat gives him time to process. Rather than process, Thomas just thinks that maybe the other is unhappy with the whole situation. Could he be mad at Thomas? Since he's stuck with Thomas, and the others by virtue, does he resent him for it?
"I can see you spiraling over there. I don't recommend it."
"What do you recommend?" Thomas asks, pouting. He feels too hot and too cold, and his pajama pants are too thin to keep out the chilly air, and he wants water and for his head to stop hurting please.
Bowler Hat counters him, "What is it that you want, Thomas? How would you like to proceed? Would it be better for you, if we were out of sight and out of mind? Would you like to forget this ever happened?"
Is that possible?
Does he want that?
A surge of denial crashes into him like an icy wave. He had only just begun to understand them, to learn about them.
He doesn't want to give up just yet because he's scared.
Thomas swallows down the lump in his throat. "I want to know more about you guys. I want to know your name. I want to know how you named yourselves. I want to learn what you guys like, and I want to help you if I can."
"Help us? What do you think you can do for us?"
Thomas winces. He doesn't known if the tone is meant to be flat or come out that cutting. He feels the sharpness all the same. "Be there for you guys...the way that you guys have apparently always been there for me, even if I didn't know it. I'd like to at least try."
Seeing Logan light up like a kid on Christmas at the chance to play a video game...
Patton holding his teddy bear...
Roman holding his hands in his, elated...
Virgil so worried that they were being too overwhelming...
Thomas wants to give them more than what they've been confined to. He wants to believe that giving people a chance will never be a bad thing.
"Careful Thomas, there is such a thing as no good deed goes unpunished." Before Thomas can argue with his newfound sense of vigor and righteousness, Bowler Hat tells him, "Go ahead and take some more medicine. It looks like your fever has returned. You should try to get some rest now."
Someone has sat a new water bottle by his alarm clock along with the medicine bottle. He does in fact feel shaky for reasons unrelated to the adrenaline-spiking nightmare.
"I still have more questions though," Thomas mentions as he swallows a couple of pills.
"I'm sure you do. Just as I'm sure those can wait until after the sun has risen."
Thomas yawns. His body agrees whole-heartedly in spite of himself. He nestles back onto the mattress, covering only his cold legs with a sheet. "You still haven't told me your name though."
"Hm, I don't believe I ever offered it."
"What am I supposed to call you then?" He almost suggests the name he's been calling the other in his head.
Thomas has a limit to how many times he can embarrass himself in one night.
"Call me whatever you'd like, within reason."
"I don't want to be rude," Thomas mutters into his pillow.
Bowler Hat somehow still hears him. He gives a light scoff. "Come now, Thomas. Allow me to keep a few secrets. I don't have many things in this world that are wholly mine."
To that, Thomas has no response. Instead, he lets the relative peace of the night seep into him. He doesn't know where Benjamin is, so he cuddles a pillow under his chin. Almost imperceptibly, he thinks he can hear the other's breathing or the weak groan of the chair.
"How long are you going to stay?" Thomas asks hesitantly.
Bowler Hat is far too quiet for far too long. Thomas's eyes start to grow heavy when the other finds his words, "Just for a bit, until you're settled."
Thomas asks no more questions after that.
***
Morning comes.
Thomas creeps down the stairs. There's no need. There aren't bodies strewn about in sprawling limbs. No aftermath of a big slumber party. His playstation controllers sit neatly on the entertainment center. The TV is turned off, no lights on. No one is here.
Should he be disappointed?
His headache is blissfully gone. His body no longer feels like a broken baby bird. He could stomach an actual meal, he wagers.
The kitchen, he finds, is not how he left it. No dishes litter the sink or counter tops. Most have been washed and put away, a few remaining in the drying rack.
There's a clenching at his heart. A warmth blooms in his belly.
It takes him longer than it should to get the coffee machine up and running. He keeps looking around the kitchen wondering what he's done to earn such thoughtfulness. Extravagant gifts are nice, but the little things that show someone you cared?
Do they really care for him?
He grabs a clean mug from the drying rack and fills it up. He'll get to making a proper breakfast soon, he swears. Toast and eggs sound glorious to his famished stomach. He just wants to take things slow and savor the morning.
Thomas slides the backdoor open and sits outside. He doesn't use the two chairs he has out there on the little patio. That's what a sensible person would do. He chooses to sit right on the single concrete step, his bare toes touching the grass.
It's a rare occasion when he's awake before noon. Dawn has broken beautifully, and Thomas can't see where the sun crests the horizon because of the trees in the way. But he enjoys the orange bleeding into blue and the fluffy white clouds in between.
It's nice, to be alive.
Behind him, the door slides open once more. It doesn't surprise him so much as tension creeps into his neck and down his back. He had promised that he wants to help them, and he does! It's just...a very pleasant morning and he doesn't think he can handle all of them at once right now.
The great God above hears his prayers. It's only Patton. Sweet smiling Patton leaning out the doorway.
"Heya, sport." He must sense Thomas's mood because his voice is lowered to just above a whisper. "Would you like to greet the day with some company?"
Thomas hides a tiny smirk behind the rim of his mug because he sounds like such a dad. "Sure, just as long as you don't question my sitting choices."
"Deal!" Patton bounces down, shutting the door behind him. There's enough room for him to sit on the stoop beside him without their legs touching.
Thomas gives him a wry look. "Why not go through the door?" If he had the power to lower his effort output, he'd be using it for everything.
Patton wiggles his fingers. "Because I've got these babies! Plus, now I can use them! You don't know how many times I've wanted to try the sliding door. It's a door! That slides!"
Thomas covers up his expression with taking a gulp of coffee. He doesn't want Patton to see the marring pity there.
It was just a door.
He'd never heard something so sad.
"Feeling any better this morning?" Patton asks and Thomas jumps on the distraction offered.
"Yeah, loads. It's like I'm a human being again."
Patton throws back his head and laughs heartily. There's no sunlight that reaches them in their shady corner. If it did, the radiance beside him would be blinding. It's not even that funny of a comment. Thomas thinks he's just that happy to be talking to him.
Conceited much? his inner pessimism mocks him with its unwanted opinion.
It's true, but it doesn't need to say it.
"How 'bout you guys?" Thomas barrels on. "Did you guys....sleep okay?"
Patton scrunches up his nose ruefully. "We don't do that. Not really. The closest we come to it is when we go to our rooms and... Well, it's like we relax and zone out a little. It's super easy to lose track of time that way. We do that a lot when you're sleeping. That's where the others are now."
If Thomas didn't have to sleep... Wow, he could get so much done.
Who is he kidding? He'd just use the time staying up all night to binge watch shows he's already seen. Not that he doesn't already do that...
"Is it– does it cause you pain?" Thomas asks. He can't figure a better way to articulate his question.
"No, it's not uncomfortable or anything," Patton assures him. He slips his hand up to give a quick pat on his knee. The hand is gone before Thomas can register the contact. Patton gives a grateful smile. "You're very sweet to ask, but we're okay. I don't think any of us have felt much pain. Even when some of us have wrestled around or tackled each other. It doesn't really hurt."
"Like how you can't really feel each other?"
"Yeah, like that bud."
Did that strike too close? The last thing Thomas intends is to throw unsavory reality in his face.
"Sorry," Thomas says softly. For a few seconds, Thomas experiences the absurdly strong urge to reach out and hold Patton's hand in apology and comfort. He's always been a touchy-feely person. Hugs are his go-to, even with strangers! He loves hugs.
He just, doesn't think it's appropriate right now.
"That's okay kiddo. It's all we've known."
Impulsively, Thomas does reach out this time. He sits his mug down so fast it sloshes over, brown liquid splattering on the gray concrete. It doesn't matter. What matters is the hand in his belongs to a gentle soul who deserves better than what life has given him.
Patton falters. A confused squeak comes out and he looks back and forth between the hand resting on top of his own and Thomas. His mouth opens in a little 'o' but he doesn't say anything at first.
"I think that's a crying shame," Thomas says and he squeezes the hand in his.
Patton tries to smile but he can't quite make his lips work right. They're all wobbly. "It's alright. Really, kiddo."
"No, it's not," Thomas denies emphatically. "But it will be, I promise. I talked to Bowler Hat last night."
"Y–you did?!"
"Yeah, and I think I realized some things. The most important thing is that whatever you guys are, you're people. People who didn't get a say in any of this. But I can hear you now, and what you say matters. Whatever I can do for you, just say it. I'll try my best to be there."
Patton stutters and his eyes are watering into fat teardrops. His other hand grasps at Thomas's and squeezes for dear life. His lips pull up, a trace of a smile that is mimicked in the glittering of his gaze.
"That means a lot, kiddo." Patton says and he is visibly holding back his tears. They're getting stuck in his throat and his voice comes out weepy and kind of strangled. "I'm really happy that I get to talk to you. I'm so happy."
Thomas is happy too. The force of it rams into his chest with demanding attention, leaving him breathless. He squeezes Patton's hands back with the same ferocity and Patton looks at their joined hands, mesmerized.
"I'm glad," Thomas says and doesn't rush the other. He allows him to go through the emotional roller coaster and he holds his hand supportively throughout the entire ride.
"Oh gosh, it really is a crying shame!" Patton exclaims, wiping at his eyes.
Thomas erupts into laughter and they both descend into giggles. After a time, Thomas finally lets go of his hand, but he moves his leg closer so that their knees brush now and then.
He returns to his coffee, pleased that it's still hot. "I really like your jokes. They bring me to tears."
Patton makes a ba-dum-tss motion with sound effects and they're grinning like idiots to each other.
"Thank you," Patton sighs, coming down from his emotional high. The mirth dancing in his eyes overtakes the red-rimmed edges. It makes Thomas's insides squirm in a way he can't put into words.
If the rest is this easy, he thinks he might be able to handle it.

♡ Fandoms: BTS!
♡ Genre: SFW Littlespace, One-shot, Fluff!
One day, you're invited onto a shoot with BTS called, 'BTS Meets a Little for the First Time'.
(2,300 words.)
Notes: In this universe, Littlespace is permanent. If you don't know much about Littlespace, please research the topic elsewhere, since this story doesn't reflect how Littlespace functions in real life! Thank you!
When the director's countdown reaches zero, Kim Namjoon puts on a pleasant smile and begins greeting the camera in English.
"Hello, everyone! We are-!"
"Bangtan Sonyeondan!"
"And today we are gunna be meeting a Little for the very first time."
The interviewer watches them from behind the camera, holding a clipboard of simple questions for the seven K-Pop stars. When Hello82 first contacted BTS's managers and proposed an interview with them, they knew they had to accept. The concept of Littlespace has been getting more attention on the internet recently after a celebrity mentioned it during a live show, so they're hopping on the trend.
"How much do you know about Littlepsace?" The interviewer asks in English.
Namjoon translates quickly.
Hoseok pulls a cheeky grin and exaggeratedly points down at Taehyung.
"Him!" He says in English. "Him. Yeah."
Namjoon chuckles, his cheeks punctuated with two charming dimples. "Yes. Taehyung has been doing a lot of extensive googling about this topic before we got here."
"Little bit." Taehyung smiles shyly, pinching his fingers together.
"I think he would be the most knowledgeable out of all of us, to be honest. He loves kids, you know, so this is like his time to shine."
"And you guys have never met a Little before, right?"
"That's right."
"Are you excited?"
Namjoon repeats the question in Korean, and all seven members answer with varying degrees of enthusiasm, from Jimin and Taehyung clapping with cheesy grins, to Yoongi and Jungkook just smiling mildly.
"Okay, great. Well, today we have a very special guest who has kindly come from the Seoul Littlespace Care Centre with her Caregiver, Park Jongsuk, to see you." They give a small round of applause. "And to make things interesting, we are going to be putting you into three groups and giving you some challenges to complete." Ah, Jinjja?, Jungkook mutters. "You will have to attempt to feed her her favorite food, receive a hug from her, and make her laugh. The group to succeed in all three of these challenges will win."
"Woooow," They all exclaim, looking around at one another.
Jimin raises his hand, speaking in Korean. "I think she will like me the most."
"Yah," Seokjin leans forward. "I don't want to hear an amateur speaking on this matter. I deal with you guys all day, so how should this be much different? Tsk. Exactly. No doubt I'll win her over."
Hoseok barks a laugh, grabbing Jimin's shoulders while he doubles over with embarrassed giggles.
"He-" Namjoon laughs, trying to translate his bandmates' silliness, "He's saying he will win because he has experience dealing with the younger ones in the group."
"Shall we bring her out?"
He smiles. "Yeah, let's do it."
Be calm, you think to yourself, Jongsuk said they're nice!
Your caregiver leads you around the corner and into the filming studio. You squeeze his hand, using your other to tug nervously on your piggy tail. All of a sudden, three men in front of the camera greet you with bright smiles and exclamations of Gwiyeooo.
He leads you to sit on the fluffy white rug with them and sets you in his lap.
"Hello," Jongsuk says softly in Korean, bowing slightly.
The men copy his greeting. You eye them curiously, tilting your head. The one sitting closest to you and your caregiver is Kim Seokjin. You recognise him from the photocards the studio gave you to prepare for today. In the picture, he had brown hair, but you see now that he actually has pink hair! Wow. You want to reach out and touch it to see if it feels as soft as cherry blossoms, so that's exactly what you do.
He rises from his bow with a shocked chuckle.
"Aish, sweetie, hands to yourself." Jongsuk gently chides, pulling your hand back into your lap. "I guess that's her way of greeting you."
"Hello." Jin mutters sweetly, giving you a small wave. He tilts his head toward you, letting you tug on his hair again.
The two other men scoot forward, offering you some more greetings. The one in the middle is Hoseok, and he's got a lovely smile. The one beside him is Namjoon, and he's big and scary and has muscles, but he's also got a lovely smile, so you don't get up and run away just yet. Jongsuk promised you that his new friends are all very nice, remember!
You let go of Jin's hair and nervously fiddle with your sweater, making them laugh.
"You're scaring her already!" Hoseok jokingly scolds Namjoon. "Don't ruin our chances!"
"She's shy around new people." Jongsuk explains, grabbing your hands and bouncing them around playfully. "Isn't that right?"
You nod, staring Namjoon down.
"Has she done anything like this before?" He asks.
"We've actually worked with Baby Cloud on a few videos in the past, but this is her first proper interview-style video."
"And she speaks...?"
"Korean and English." He answers.
"Ah. Korean and English."
"Hi." Hoseok smiles at you in English.
"Say hi." Jongsuk encourages you.
"Hi, Hoseok-Samchon." You obidiently greet, using the title Samchon just like Jongsuk taught you, which roughly means Uncle.
You didn't think it was possible, but Hoseok looks even happier when you say that. You think he might've swallowed the sun for breakfast this morning. "Aaaah. Hi!"
"Hi, Seokjin-Samchon." You continue, offering a small bow. "Hi, Namjoon-Samchon."
"Hi," They both respond excitedly.
"Are you hungry, Jagiya?" Seokjin asks you. "We hear you like banana bread."
That's one of your favourite treats!
"Banana bread?!"
"Yeah!" He reaches behind him and pulls a packaged slice of banana bread from the coffee table, carefully tearing it open.
Jongsuk suggests, "You wanna go sit with Seokjin-Samchon?"
You think about it for a second. Hm. Then you nod. You like Jin's hair and he has a tasty snack for you, so of course you'll sit with him. You rise from Jongsuk's lap and plop down in Seokjin's instead, which is very spacious and comfy, opening your mouth eagerly.
"Aaaaah," He mirrors you, popping a piece of bread on your tongue. "Mmmmm. Good?"
You nod enthusiastically, grabbing for more.
"Aigooo, finish the piece in your mouth first." He exclaims, making you giggle.
"He's a natural." Hoseok exclaims in surprise.
"So, what does she normally eat?" Namjoon asks.
"Well, we feed her according to her mental age, which mostly ranges from two to six," Jongsuk answers, "So, you know, mashed fruits, boiled vegetables, yoghurts, but sometimes bigger meals. Meat, rice, stews. And tteokbokki. She loooooves tteokbokki."
"She doesn't have trouble using chopsticks?"
"Hmm... Sometimes. Her motor skills are mostly that of an adult's, but applying them can be challenging when you're in the mental state of a two or six year old, you know, so we sometimes have to help her with that. Or we get her children's chopsticks."
"Ah."
"Some people think she might have poor hand-eye coordination or something like that, but she doesn't."
Hoseok listens with interest. "So, physically, she's not on par with a child?"
"Correct. Unless you count chemicals and hormones in the brain," He jokes.
"And her height," Giggles Namjoon.
"Hey. Can Seokjin-Samchon have a hug?"
Without even thinking, you wrap your arms around Seokjin and he returns it, hugging you tightly.
"Gwiyeooooo," They all say at the same time.
Then Hoseok tries feeding you the banana bread while Seokjin and Namjoon ask Jongsuk some more questions. They're curious, because you're not like them. You're as tall as an adult, you look like an adult, but you know you're not really an adult. You like to play with stuffed animals and watch cartoons. You can't drive a car, get a job, or use a bank card. You don't even live in a normal house!
Not until you find a family, at least. But most people don't want a Little. They want a real child.
Once you've taken a piece of bread from each of them, they all clap lightly, making you smile around your stuffed cheeks.
"Well, team Hyung," The interviewer says, "I think you succeeded in all three challenges."
"Yaaaaaay!"
Hoseok gives you a gentle double high-five.
Jongsuk was right! These new friends are great. They're friendly, they're gentle, and one of them even has pink hair!
The second group comes out after the first leaves, making you a little sad.
"Hi, Yoongi-Samchon," You shyly greet them as they sit on the rug, "Hi, Jimin-Samchon."
Yoongi gives a shallow bow, while Jimin grins and leans forward, offering you a high five like Hoseok did. Ah! His face is suuuuper close to yours! You shrink back into Jongsuk, shaking your head nervously. The poor man giggles and turns red at your rejection, covering his face.
"Aigoo," He exclaims, "I'm sorrrrrryyyy!"
Yelling?! Why's he yelling? His loud voice disturbs you even more, and just like that, your eyes are stinging and filling with tears.
"No, no, no, please don't cry," Jimin panics. "Oh, no. We just sat down!"
"Jimin-ah," Yoongi laughs, "You're awful at this."
"It's okay," Your caregiver laughs along with him as he wipes your eyes. "Oh, it's okay. Jimin-Samchon didn't mean it."
Jimin tells you in English, "I'm sorryyyy."
"Here, you want some yoghurt? Strawberry yoghurt?" Yoongi reaches behind him for a small tub of pink yoghurt and a spoon. He rips the seal off and Jongsuk pushes you off his lap, encouraging you to go over to Yoongi. "Here. Come here."
Sniffling, you kneel down beside Yoongi. He opens his mouth and you copy him.
"Shuuuuuuu," He does the areoplane with the spoon, and you eat the yoghurt with no problems.
"Aish," Jimin flops onto his back dramatically. "Hyung, what's your secret?"
Jongsuk pats him on the shoulder.
As Jimin sits back up, he opens his arms and wiggles his fingers, asking for a hug.
You get back up and run behind the camera.
"Aigoooooo," Yoongi hits him with the spoon. "Look what you've done."
The interviewer chuckles. "Okay, I think we should move onto the next group."
"I'm sorry, Jagiyaaaaa." Jimin pouts.
Seokjin cackles at him from the back of the room.
The final group is Taehyung-Samchon and Jungkook-Samchon. When they enter, they make sure to keep their voices low and their movements small, not wanting to make Jimin's mistake of being too loud. Taehyung's smile almost takes up his whole face.
"Helloooo," He says in English as the two of them sit down. "My name is Taehyungie. Nice to meet you."
"Hi, Taehyungie-Samchon." You mutter. "Hi, Jungkook-Samchon."
"Hello." Jungkook also says in English.
They offer polite greetings to Jongsuk as well, and then Taehyung pulls a watermelon flavored lollipop from his shirt pocket and takes the plastic off, offering the candy to you with a warm expression. How did he know that's your favorite flavor of candy?
You take it from him and pop it in your mouth, making him clap giddily and pet your knee. "Yaaaay."
Jungkook laughs. "Hey, you can't bribe her with candies!"
Tae ignores him, keeping all his attention on you.
The interviewer asks, "Taehyung, was this part of your research?"
"I watched all the Baby Cloud videos she's been in," He explains, "And I saw that the watermelon candies were always her favorite."
"Smart." Jongsuk praises him.
While you suck on the candy, Taehyung shows you a stuffed animal plush that was on the coffee table, and Jungkook asks, "So, is this what her everyday life is like? She doesn't ever... I don't know, behave like an adult?"
"Right. Her brain is perfectly healthy, and she's perfectly smart, but she'll always function within the emotional range of a child."
"Ah. Okay."
"It can take a bit of getting used to, can't it?"
He hesitates for a moment, not wanting to say anything offensive. "Uuhhh. A little bit."
"I understand that. I mean, it can be hard to grasp the fact that she's not pretending or exaggerating. But this is just how her brain works."
"Do people think she's pretending?"
"All the time. They keep waiting for her to snap out of it or drop the act, but of course, it won't ever happen."
"Mmm." He hums thoughtfully, gazing at you.
"Can Taehyungie-Samchon have a cuddle, Jagiya?" He asks you nicely, opening his arms.
You scoot over to him and give him a short, loose hug just to be nice, because he gave you a candy.
"Aaah, thank youuuuuu."
"You're welcome, Taehyungie-Samchon."
"Good manners, Jagiya." Your caregiver smiles at you. "What about Jungkookie-Samchon? Does he get a hug?"
"Mmmm...." You look at Jungkook's heavily tattooed arm and his facial piercings, shaking your head. "No."
All three of them laugh at your blunt answer.
"Alright, I think that concludes this segment."
Taehyung waves goodbye to the camera with you. "Buh-byeeeeee."
"So, what did you guys think of this experience?"
"So cute!" Hoseok exclaims, his Korean accent thickening under his excitement. "Her- Her face. Awww. So cute! Right?"
"Well, Jimin wouldn't know anything about that," Jin sasses, turning to his junior, "Because you made her cry, didn't you?!"
"Aigo," He groans, "I didn't mean to."
"Can you believe this guy?"
The interviewer swiftly cuts off their shenanigans. "Team three - Taehyung and Jungkook - managed to get two points during their segment. Taehyung expertly charmed her with a candy, and received a hug. Team two, however..."
Laughter breaks out among the seven members.
"Only received one point. They impressed us by upsetting her in record time, but Yoongi saved it with the strawberry yoghurt."
The mentioned man gives the camera a smug thumbs up, while the younger of the two continues to fake-sob dramatically.
"That leaves team three as our winner!"
"That's right!" Jin shouts suddenly in English, clapping loudly. "That's right! What I tell you, huh?!"
"After a small hiccup in the beginning, she managed to overcome her nervousness thanks to the help of her charming Jin-Samchon, and happily ate some banana bread with all three members. They also made her laugh and received a hug! Well done!"
"Well done," Namjoon repeats with a smile, clapping along with everyone. "Thank you for letting us meet her."
"Thank you, Hello 82!"
"Thank you!"
As they bow and wave goodbye to ARMY, the video comes to an end.
