2 Months.

Can't sleep. Can't eat. Can't smile. Can't laugh. Can't function. Being without you was pure hell, but Levi knew he had to suffer because he sinned so strongly against you. It was time for reflection on his actions.

When he thought about his reflection period, he thought the first few weeks would be the hardest, but he was wrong. The longer he went without you, the more painful it got. This was different from Petra, this was far more painful to him. It was becoming clear that he liked Petra, but he loved you.

Everyone around him noticed he was a shell of his former self. The loss of you was the most damaging thing he'd experienced recently. For Levi, death was easy to understand, but someone walking out of his life was hard for him to process. Kenny had left him with not a single word, which was fine after processing but you told him you were leaving. You were the only person who told him, you were done.

It was hard to go to his bed at night because it smelt of you, even his clothes smelt of you. So, Levi had to sleep at his desk or on his sofa because they were the only places that didn't have a strong smell of you. A suggestion given to him was to get rid of the things of yours he still possessed, he just refused because he adored you so much and wanted to keep it all.

When he wasn't working, he would spend most of his time curled up into a ball holding a shirt of yours wishing you would walk back into his life again. All thoughts of Petra had vanished and he was consumed by the idea of you. His heart cried and yearned for you.

Soon it was becoming too much for him to bear, so he decided to see you just for a moment. After dragging on some simple clothes he hid himself a little and went out into the town. He followed Erwin's directions but ignored his advice to leave you alone.

The shop you worked in was adorable and seeing you putting some flowers out made his heart flutter. No matter how much he debated with himself he couldn't bring himself to talk to you. Levi felt like he was too much of a beast to go near you.

Levi would watch you a few times and admire you from afar as he faced his feelings, it was clear that his heart belonged to you and always had. He knew he had to make his peace with Petra. So, he made his way to the graveyard with all the lost Scouts.

He wasn't at her grave for long. The feelings he once had for her were gone. He lightly touched her grave, said his goodbyes and knew that his future was you. No matter how hard Levi thought about it, there never was a future with Petra. Thinking about it all, it seemed Petra was using him for love and physical affection and Levi was just going along with it so he could feel.

The real deep love in his heart was yours. You were his first in love.

Life together.

After becoming a couple, Levi was almost always at your shop and asked to do fewer things for the scouts so he could be dedicated to you. Eventually, you turned the shop into a flower and tea shop, so you could sell tea leaves that Levi had mixed. Everyone wanted to try the famous captain's tea.

Levi slept over at yours and never slept back at the base. The two of you would cuddle a lot and after trust had built up, you would be intimate again. The way Levi was with you in the bedroom had changed a bit, he was very invested in you and he was incredibly loving. He would make love to you like you would leave him any second. It was always full of laughs and giggles.

He was so dedicated and loving with you. He always stayed at your side and you gave him everything again. The two of you would shower each other with gifts. The romance was almost overboard and the way you both were shocked people. Especially, with how Levi was with you and how unlike him he was being, it was refreshing to people.

The two of you ran your shop together, but you did most of the work because Levi's full job was being Captain of the Scouts. You didn't mind that he wasn't around all the time, but he minded and wanted to be with you every minute of every day.

One day while you were hooking a flower basket on a hanging hook outside your shop, Levi was rushing towards you. He had finished work early and he wanted to be with you. As soon as you were climbing down your ladders he grabbed you and picked you up off them making you squeal.

You were panicked, but in a short moment, Levi moved you in his arms so you could see him. You laughed and wrapped your arms around his neck. "You scared me."

"Sorry, I just got so excited when I saw you." He kissed you and hummed. "I missed you."

You felt your cheeks heat up. "I missed you too."

"Are you okay?"

You laughed a little. "You just surprised me. You don't normally show affection in public."

He squeezed you. "I hid you for a long time. I don't want to ever again hide you away. I want people to know you are mine."

You slipped out of his arms. "You're adorable Levi." You kissed him before grabbing another hanging basket. "Could you put this up for me?"

He grabbed it and smiled. "Of course. I'll help do anything."

The two of you worked together to decorate the front of the shop before closing up for the way and moving to the apartment. Levi worked with you to make a delicious meal for dinner. He always set up the table for you and made sure his chair was next to yours.

While you sat eating Levi would hold your hand with his thumb gently running over your skin. Levi always ate faster than you, so when he was finished he would just gaze at you and kiss your hand. The more affection he showed you the more you giggled and smiled.

You downed your drink and hummed. "That was wonderful."

Levi leaned over and kissed you. "Your cooking is perfect."

You smiled at him. "I couldn't have done it without you. Do you want a cookie for dessert?"

He pulled you onto his lap and cuddled you. "I would like you as my dessert."

You wrapped your arms around his neck. "Oh, I would be happy to be your dessert."

Levi kissed you and hummed in happiness. He softly said your name. "After this all ends with the war, I want to expand our shop into a cafe and um...I...I want to...uh..."

You frowned. "I'd love a cafe, but what else is up?"

He fiddled with his pocket before pulling out a ring. "I want to marry you."

Your eyes widened. "Yes." You offered your hand. "Yes, I do." You smiled as he slipped your ring on. "It's perfect."

Bros prim and proper, if your lucky, you wake up before him. It's no secret that appreciates the finer things in life (and the small things, atp he appreciates literally everything. Tenya is an angel sent from heaven and don't you forget it ✋) But if you decide to wake this man up to some bomb ass breakfast, I'm talking bacon, eggs, possibly pancakes, and ofc a big ass glass of orange juice he WILL tear up. I know deep in my soul he's an emotional (or at least dramatic) gift reciever.

I feel like his birthday would actually be a pretty average day, other than the morning and night. It's slightly mundane but sweet because trust me ✋ After a day like the one he has planned y'all's bed sounds like heaven. Spending an amazing day with his amazing partner, then getting into an even more amazing bed with said partner at the end of his lil adventure 💞

trucker hats again, these ones are more for him than you. you just end up wearing them more than he does (and he lets you). he literally can’t help himself when it comes to getting new hats. and when he decides to bring one up to the counter you always have to remind him that he has at least 6 just like it.

he’ll send you into gas stations with a crumpled 50 from time-to-time, telling you to go ham as long as you make sure to get him a case of beer. you’ll sometimes get yourself a gag gift out of boredom, showing it off to him with a smile.

you bought him a gag hat one time that read “#1 MILF.” he found it funny at the time, using it to push back his fringe once the sun started beating down on you two. he ended up forgetting that he had it on by noon, sitting through an entire meal at an ihop not knowing why everyone was giggling at the two of you.

bottle caps: random sobriety checks are frequent depending on where the two of you are driving through, so toji knows not to let himself get caught with alcohol in his system before the two of you have gotten to your destination for the night. when he finally gets to crack open a case, he’ll give you the bottle cap to fiddle around with.

OKAY So I've had an idea that could be either funny, angsty, or smutty depending on your mood. So imagine Mammon and MC had sex before Mammon became invested in them back when he was kind of a shit to them (I'm imagining the in original Obey Me timeline, not NB). I feel like my response to this depends on whether or not Mammon knew it was MC's first time. tachihara usually followed you around, going unnoticed while you shopped for things that caught your eye. he was used to seeeing you in random stores in the mall, looking for pretty candles, or shopping for jewelry that you liked.

more times than often, you'll see the exact jewelry you looked at sitting on your desk in a nicely wrapped box. wasn't this too expensive to get? did you buy it and not remember? or was this a gift? it had no notes attached, so who got this?

nonetheless, it was for you, and you found yourself wearing a beautiful sapphire ring on your fingers often. you even wore it on your little date with tachihara! it took almost everything in him not to brag about how he got it for you, but he did compliment it!

you didn't talk a whole lot during the date. tachihara didn't think you would, so he talked enough for both of you! he was so nice, but you just didn't see him the way he saw you.

tachihara was surprised when you turned him down.

"wait, why?" the orange-haired man's confused expression was what you saw when you looked up at him, before quickly looking back down at the floor. "i thought you liked the gifts."

you put your hands up to tell him the truth. "no, no! the gifts were nice, it's just-" tachihara unintentionally interrupted you while you explained. "was it something i said? i'll fix it, i promise."

"let me talk!" the other fell silent. "i just don't see you that way! i wanna be your friend, not.. that!" you stammered out nervously, watching tachihara's expression change.

tachihara nodded, seemingly getting your point now. "you're right, ah.. just forget i told you that, 'kay? i still wanna be your friend.."

and the two of you left it at that. you agreed to keep being friends, but tachihara was distant for a few days. he avoided you like the plague! maybe it was best to just forget about him for now, and you'll talk later. instead, you could go hang out with higuchi and gin! they're both cool as hell anyway, it's not hard to make new friends. maybe it'll help you come out of your shell.

it was someplace new. a darker room, but you could make out a bunch of posters of rock band logos on them pinned to the walls. all the lights were off except for a lamp on a dresser somewhere in the corner. it was dim so you couldn't make out anything beside a few things around it. the room was actually pretty cool, aside from the fact that it wasn't yours.

"hey, wait," a familiar voice called out to you while you tried to sit up. a cold metal slammed against your wrist, keeping you in place. "don't move for a sec, 'kay?" tachihara's voice.

"what happened..? who did this?" you couldn't remember anything from before you passed out, so you assumed someone knocked you out on a mission or something.

your vision was blurry, but you could see a head of orange hair hovering above you. and even though you couldn't tell, tachihara had a worried look on his face. "i mean, it was me.. but it's fine! just chill out for a few, i'll explain later," tachihara sighed, taking your shoulders and moving you to sit up so you wouldn't pass out again.

"let me get up myself," you tried to raise your hands and slap his away, but you still couldn't move your hands, or legs for that matter.

tachihara sat you up, reaching a hand towards your face to rub your eyes for you, since you couldn't. "look, i'm sorry," now you could see clearly and look at the face in front of you. "why would you.." tachihara spoke when your voice trailed off. ‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “UGH! Gorgeous as always!” Suyin exclaimed with a smile looking at the group of dancers, she clapped for a couple of seconds. “That's all for today, people! You can go rest.”

After those words, you were quick to touch ground again thanks to the one lifting you up and smiled big once your best friend was at your sight. “How was it?”

‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “You could work on your posture, you look hunched.” the captain said in a fun tone, you knew it was a joke when a tiny smile started to form in her lips. Your hand hit her softly in the shoulder.

Kuvira and you had been best friends since you can remember, maybe it was around the time Su took her under her wing when you met Kuvira. You remember how a little earthbender walked over to you asking if you wanted to share moon peaches with her after she caught you looking at her and ever since that day you both have been inseparable.

She helped you to improve in your metalbending making you one of the best engineers in the city alongside Suyin's oldest son, when someone was bothering you she was the first to jump to defend you, when you had a bad day she always found a way to comfort you and make you feel better. She was your rock, the same way you were hers.

Everyone in Zaofu knew how close you two were and the appreciation one had for the other, but not a single soul knew how there was something more than friendship between you two. It was so secret that not even you both knew.

Your own feelings were questioned one of the days the avatar and her team arrived to the city, you were helping them with anything asked for as one of their hostess.

‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “I'm an engineer too!” the other girl exclaimed excited to meet a fellow engineer, thankfully that changed the subject to machinery and inventions with her and made you forget the moment before.

Even though you were a junior engineer, that didn't stopped you to talk for almost an hour with the girl about the struggles as an engineer and shared advices one with the other.

When you talked to Kuvira about your nerdy rant with Asami, her face had an indescribable grimace painted in it.

‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “So you like her.” she said abruptly, cutting your train of thought and making you blink in confusion.

‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “I mean, yeah?” you said more in a question than in an answer. “It's nice to have a chat with someone about this stuff other than Baatar Jr who loves to cut me off or not pay any attention.” you shrugged.

‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “And she's pretty too.” Kuvira voice felt as she was thinking of something else, her focus somewhere else.

‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “She is.” you backed up the statement. “But what does that has to do wi–.”

‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “I have to go, I need to take care of some business. See you at dinner.” she spoke as if being rushed and started to walk away from you, leaving you even more confused.

In Kuvira's mind, there were alerts and sirens left and right, warning her about something, something she had repressed too deep to understand it now.

The events following your talk gave no one time to think, it was one thing after the other and that kept Kuvira away from you since she was the captain for the military guard so it made you grew closer to the young inventor and she was aware of it.

After the avatar left, Kuvira seemed distance with you. Only talking when you looked for her, she still walked you home, but the talks were ephemeral, she answered with monosyllables or head movements and you only could hope to find a way to get your relationship back to how it was.

‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “I'm leaving,” she said one day, interrupting your commentary about how the practice was boring. You stopped in your steps, Kuvira stopped a couple after. “The Earth Kingdom is in need of a leader and I offered myself to Republic City's president to help get the Kingdom united until the new monarch takes their place.”

Your eyes were trying to look for hers, she was evading your gaze by keeping hers pinned behind you.

‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “What–”

‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “I leave tomorrow.” every single word felt like a bucket of freezing water pouring over you. “Bataar is going with me, I need an engineer.”

‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “You tell me now?” the question left your mouth as a whisper. “Why didn’t you tell me earlier? Didn't you think I would like to know your plan? Or I would like to go as your engineer? You don't trust me anymore?” for the first time, she looked at you while calling your name, you shook your head. “Kuvira, I'm your best friend... I would go with you anywhere.”

A couple of seconds you both stood in silence looking at each other. “I'm sorry.” was the only thing she could think of saying to you.

Your hand rearranged the gym bag's strap over your shoulder. “I'll walk myself home, hope you have a great journey.”

You walked pass her and Kuvira fought against herself not to run after you, to tell you that she was sorry, she wanted you there with her... But her pride was stronger, she stood there.

That was the last time you two had a proper conversation, you didn’t attend to her farewell event nor talked to her before that. However, after two days of her being on the road, a letter with your handwriting arrived to her wishing her luck and health in her journey. But that was all, no more letters neither from you or her, you two took separate ways after that. Regardless of the years passing by, you couldn’t help but find yourself thinking about Kuvira every once in a while.

With Bataar gone from Zaofu, you moved from engineer junior to senior and with that more responsibility came along, enough to keep your mind occupied.

Suyin grew closer to you as you usually tagged along with her husband to talk work related things and city matters. She knew about how close you and Kuvira were, so every information she had she told you.

‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “I heard they just went to Qinchao.” the matriarch said while serving tea on your cup, you smiled a little bit her way.

Deep down, you were grateful with her for that, those comments were enough for you to make sure that at least Kuvira was still around. But one day she stopped talking about the metalbender and you didn’t want to appear desperate to know about her, so you didn’t ask anything.

You thought she was on her way to pass the now united Earth Kingdom to Wu, but were met with the news that she planned to invade Zaofu.

You helped with what you could to stop her, however when the Beifongs were captured, you got captured too. Instead of going to the same air-suspended prison, someone took you to Kuvira's train and made you sit in –what you thought was– the reunion wagon. A map of the kingdom displayed infront of you and a table with a bunch of blueprints on its right, sitting impatiently you were waiting for something... or someone.

The sound of the metal doors opening behind you made you sit straight again, one pair of shoes were making noises so you thought it was the last guard. Your mouth opened to talk and ask what you were doing there instead of being with the Beifongs, but your words caught up in your throat at the sight of the ex–captain.

Her eyes shined with distress, unsure of what to say or how to proceed, almost like waiting for a signal from you to tell her what to do. You only looked at her with a gaze she could not interpret, silence reigned for what felt hours while the two green-eyed were looking at each other.

At the same time, the two of you decided to break the silence colliding your voices. Kuvira blinked a bit and shook her head. “Sorry, you talk first.”

‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “Can you uncuff me?” you asked quickly at her making sounds with the platinum around your wrists.

‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “Shit, yes, one second.” Kuvira was fast to take out the key while walking behind you to take the cuffs out so you could be more comfortable. “There, uhm, you're free.”

Your left hand was quick to touch your right wrist once you were able to get your arms to the front, you looked for Kuvira. “Why am I here?”

The leader stood up again and walked to be face to face with you again, she still couldn't read your expression. “I wanted to talk to you.”

Your heart skipped a beat and Kuvira was able to see how your eyes softened a little bit, she was able to see that one girl a couple years younger that could make her world shake with her mere existence.

It took Kuvira three years away from you to know that she did love you like she had said a lot of times, but she loved you on another level which she never thought could've happen.

‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “To say... What? To boast about how you were capable to unify the kingdom on your own with... tyranny?” you words were harsh on her, she knew she deserved them either way.

‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “I did what I had to for my people.” she said back, almost in a sharp serious tone. “And I know you won't understand this now, but I did it for them... I did it for us.”

You stayed quiet, just looking at her, admiring her face like you used to do back in the day. “You never wrote to me.” your mouth talked in a low voice. “I was surviving with what Su told me about you and it wasn’t nearly enough.”

Kuvira's shoulders fell, her whole serious leader facade disappeared. You were the only person with the ability of making the ex–captain soft at your very liking.

‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “I didn't know what to say.” she said, raising her brow with tenderness. “I tried so many times to write you, tell you that I missed you, ask you if you wanted to join, but I never found the right words to do so.” Her gaze looked to the floor. “I needed you by my side.”

You felt dizzy, but in a good way. It was almost as if those feelings repressed by you all those years ago were creeping back in a plodding way.

‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “If you had asked me two weeks ago if I wanted to join you on unifying the kingdom I would've joined.” you said after another round of silence, the lighter green eyes shot back to you in surprised. “Hell! If you had asked me yesterday if I wanted to join I would've say yes, Kuvira... Because I need you too.”

For the first time in so long, the military leader had no answer to give, her mind was cloudy with a bunch of thoughts unclear to her right now.
