Togashi's "interview" with Jump Ryu magazine & DVD 2016
i found this information and translation from the hxh fandom site - https://hunterxhunter.fandom.com/wiki/User_blog:MrGenial11/Jump_Ryu_Vol.21:_Yoshihiro_Togashi
it’s long so i’m rephrasing and only sharing the Hunter x Hunter stuff & some Togashi facts i found interesting (and y’all too probably) so :
When Togashi was in junior high school, he was fully attracted to Shōjo manga (girls manga) such as Mineo Maya's manga. (Mineo Maya is known for creating LGBT ((shōnen-ai/gay)) manga)
Togashi read manga like "Urusei Yatsura" and learned how to attract female audience.
Although Togashi’s favorite manga genre is Shōnen, he thinks he's suitable for Shōjo manga.
Togashi's first manga serialization was a romantic comedy, Ten de Shōwaru Cupid. Afterwards, he began Yu Yu Hakusho. After YYH, Togashi wanted to create manga that WOULDN'T be popular to show various aspects of his personality as mangaka to his audience. He then created Level E.
After Level E, Togashi began Hunter x Hunter. He changes his style in each arc so his audience can be surprised. Togashi loves surprising his audience.
Togashi thinks characters are sometimes more important than the story itself.
The Chimera Ant arc ended differently than Togashi first expected.
He creates simulations of the characters and how they will talk with each other and take an action in situations. This allows his audience to feel as if his characters really exist.
Togashi drew his characters acting unexpectedly in desperate situations when they encountered someone accidentally. For example, the encounter between Morel and Shaiapouf, or Killua and Meleoron.
Togashi has been attracted to the dirty side of manga rather than beautiful side ever since he was a junior high school student. (whatever that means..)
Togashi drew Yu Yu Hakusho's art style impressively and Level E realistically. In Hunter x Hunter, he avoids using screentones as much as possible.
Togashi considers the manuscripts of Hisoka and Kastro's fight as "bad quality" . He said that the internet fandom was angry and embarrassed with the chapter at that time. (so he DOES look at fanforums. that's no good)
"Togashi-sensei is very gentle. He remembers what editors said in the past" (a quote from one of his editors)
"Togashi resembles Gon/Ging Freecss in terms of personality" (another quote from his editor) (the hunterpedia page said “Gin” so idk if the translator misspelled “Gon” or forgot the last “g” in “Ging” 😺 i see both tbh)
Togashi scolded an editor only once when they slightly changed a few words in the manga without permission.
Togashi is very confident in his words being interesting. He chooses his words and sticks with them, not letting anyone change them. He is very selective and peculiar about the words he uses. (hm this makes me think of the lines “ja nakya dame nan da”/“shika inai” , “dajina”/“kichō” , “shinjū” , ect.)(dw i’m making a post explaining those lines later)
Togashi's message to mangaka beginners: "Keep in mind the audience. Make every effort to go beyond their expectations.”

Hello, can I ask from this ask game :
https://www.tumblr.com/threecheersforinking/677824836625694720/anime-ask-game?source=share
For fandom : Haikyuu, BNHA, ATLA, and Jujutsu Kaisen.
Thanks
Sorry I took time but lists and ranking are difficult to me lol, and I had 4 different asks about making a TOP 5 so I kinda lost myself into it 😅
Oh my god there's so many fandoms, you're really trying to kill me damn-
Okay okay Imma try not to write to much (<- will probably fail)
HAIKYUU
Favorite Character: (I absolutely HATE that question, why do I have to choose ?!?) I'd say Bokuto Koutarou but I also have 5 others in mind lol
Favorite Arc/Episode/Scene: The Tokyo Stage during S2 is my fave because my favorite characters get many screentime together, we see so many different people interact, and it's so fun to enjoy matches without the stress of the competition. I get to support anyone and not feel guilty about it !! Also there's Tsukki's character development, and there's my favorite scene in the anime (the Oya Oya Oya), and they all learn and work on new techniques and it's so cool !! (<- already rambling too much)
Character I Think is Underrated: Maybe Gosshiki ? He's such a baby I love him. I believe Tendou is very much loved so not underrated. Tanaka too. I know people love him but I think he deserves so much more. That man participated in EVERY MATCH, he NEVER got replaced and he doesn't have an ultra special attack and he's not the ace but he's sooooo reliable and cool. He's a caring sempai and a good player and an amazing friend and the only straight ally in a gay world lmaooo We don't appreciate him enough.
Character I Think is Overrated: When I'm not rewatching Haikyuu I think that Hinata and Atsumu are kinda overrated because yeah they're cool but they're not the bests and their characters (I know they're different) aren't the ones I love the most and also I think they're selfish. Then when I rewatches the episode for fun I4m so invested in everything and I just cannot not love them. So, no one is overrated actually.
Favorite Ship/Pairing: HAHA I won't answer that- Alright I will but keep it short. Let's say any popular ship that involves Tsukki, Kuroo, Bokuto, Akaashi and Kenma. Yes even the polyships. Yes. Any popular ship.
Something I Love About the Show/Movie: Everything. (<- only short answer I4m able to give)
BOKU NO HERO ACADEMIA
Oh it's been a while since I've been in that fandom. I lost my hyperfixation 3 years ago and I don't even read the scans anymore. Let's do it anyway, maybe it'd wake some sparkle in me and I'd be able to finish my fanfictions !
Favorite Character: I used to say Present Mic or Bakugo and I'm not sure now. I think Aizawa-sensei is someone safe to say, he'd never not be in my Top 3.
Favorite Arc/Episode/Scene: It's been so long, I don't really know
Character I Think is Underrated: Hatsune Mei. I love her and I rarely see people talking about her (or maybe I'm not on the good side of the fandom). And Mina (I know she's loved but not enough)
Character I Think is Overrated: All Might, I don't really like him. Mineta of course, he deserves Hell.
Favorite Ship/Pairing: EraserMic. I didn't write 3 fanfics about those dumbass gay teachers to not put them here.
Something I Love About the Show/Movie: The theme is good : how should we build a society where almost everyone has a superpower ? How do you regulate that ? How do you classify people as heroes, vigilantes and villains ? How do childhood trauma and socioeconomic differences, and traditional cultures play on the development of the superpower and the life of a person ?
AVATAR THE LAST AIRBENDER
This one is easier because I've already did a fan card about it!
Favorite Character: Zuko. Also Toph.
Favorite Arc/Episode/Scene: The Boiling Rock episodes.
Character I Think is Underrated: I don't think there's one ? I just think Avatar Kyoshi is a bit misinterpreted because the fans love exaggerating, but nothing actually bad.
Character I Think is Overrated: Jet maybe. I just feel nothing about him outside the context of him
Favorite Ship/Pairing: Zukka Nation
Something I Love About the Show/Movie : It's just perfect ? Perfect representation of everything ? It shows so many delicate subjects (people -kids- involved in war, sexism, racism, denial, terrorism, propaganda, redemption, trauma) and it's just GOOD. Zuko returns to his abusive family and makes more mistakes. Sokka looks down on women despite living years of his life surrounded by them. Katara steals something because her ego is hurt. Aang hides something to his friends because he has abandonment issues. Toph is.... Toph. And it's so well written and perfect and good.
JUJUTSU KAISEN
I've done this one too but it's still hard to me lmaooo
Favorite Character: Geto Suguru and Gojo Satoru and Choso and Itadori Yuuji and-
Favorite Arc/Episode/Scene: Hidden Inventory Arc. The story should have stopped here. We don't need anything more come on it's fine. Everyone's happy and it's fine (episodes 4 and 5 don't exist)
Character I Think is Underrated: Ino Takuma. Protect him.
Character I Think is Overrated: That fucking Naoya Bitch. I learned his in the TOP 20 popularity poll ??? HOW THE FUCK ??????? I literally cannot see his face, it gives me nausea. I hate him so sincerely, I don't even want to think about him.
Favorite Ship/Pairing: You know, I know, we know. The strongest. The one and only. The curse me a little at the end. They're known by many names. Satosugu, Gego, Sugusato, Goge, SaltSugar, whatever you want.
Something I Love About the Show/Movie: It's literally a story about love. It is not a romance anime, but it is about love. The theme comes back so often. Suguru loved his friends and it doomed him. Satoru loved Suguru and became a teacher. Yuuta loved Rika and cursed her. Geto's family loved him. It's all about love and no one could convince me otherwise.

Bad Eyesight (A KHR Flufftober Fic)
Fandom: Katekyo Hitman Reborn Characters: Fon, I-pin, Hibari, Kyoko, Haru Word Count: 1,060 Prompt: Mistaken Identity Event Host: @flufftober
Everyone knew I-pin's eyesight was bad. But no one thought she was already having trouble telling people apart until the girls took her out one day for cake. Haru and Kyoko had always loved getting cake together and after treating the kids to a few slices as well, they went to pick out flowers for special people in their lives. It would be a relaxing day, as far as relaxing for teenagers and kids dragged into the Mafia could be.
"Maman gets the prettiest ones!" Lambo shouted as Kyoko and Haru giggled and helped him pick out flowers. It was always fun to take the kids out and see what they wanted to pick out. Children had an innocent way of choosing gifts, they didn't often worry about the cost or choosing anything fancy and big and the girls knew Nana would appreciate anything from the kids, even if it was just a weed plucked from her own yard. It was truly the thought that counted.
Haru cut a slice of cake for I-pin and Lambo too as they took a break from their shopping as they had only a few small things left to pick out. "Was there anyone special you wanted to get something for, I-pin-chan?" Kyoko asked and looked at the little girl.
I-pin nodded and pulled a photo out of her pocket, this was the special person she wanted to get something for. But what exactly? Fon had been her sensei and trained her well in the past. She grew to have a fondness and strong admiration for the Storm Arcobaleno and if she could have showered him in gifts she would have, however unfortunately she didn't have the budget to spoil him like she wanted to.
Most of the Tenth Generation might not understand her Grass Script Chinese, but language barrier or not, it was obvious the child wanted to do something special for the special person in the photo, who was unfortunately not Fon. However the girls had taken it at face value and assumed I-pin carried a photo of the Tenth Cloud Guardian, Hibari Kyouya, out of a childish crush. If they were being honest, they couldn't blame her. Girls had crushes all the time, even when they were that young and they knew there were girls far and wide who couldn't wait to get their hands on the Namimori Prefect. They couldn't blame her for liking him, most girls their age did too. But a crush at I-pins age was pure and innocent and often out of admiration or liking them purely because they were one of the first bigger kids to show them kindness at all as many children were often met with hostility from older boys who didn't understand how to deal with them, like Gokudera-kun and Lambo-chan for example. Hibari had always been patient and kind with the kids so it was no surprise if I-pin wanted to get him something to thank him for his kindness.
She'd considered a Gyoza-ken that had the essence of five million regular gyoza buns, but decided against it. Even if he could have survived it, I-pin wouldn't put Fon through that. She understood her training and knew it was too dangerous. She adored Fon as her master and even held carefully on to the doll Ryohei had given her, it looked just like him. She knew red was his favorite color and decided to get him a sweet and some red flowers, the prettiest ones she could find as well as some oolong tea, his favorite tea since in his cursed form, he can no longer handle the spiciness of his favorite food mapo tofu.
Gifts gathered, I-pin proudly went to search out Fon and thank him and ask him to have tea with her once again as they often did to relax after her training. However, the person she had handed the gifts to backed away slightly at first as if confused, before gently kneeling down and asking if they even were for him.
"Shīfù?" I-pin asked, concerned why who she thought was her master had just rejected her gifts, her heart feeling sad as she was just as confused as the Cloud Guardian she mistook for Fon.
Thankfully Haru and Kyoko realized what happened as Haru bowed and apologized to Hibari for the mix up and Kyoko knelt down and politely asked, "These are for your Trainer, Fon, I-pin-chan?"
I-pin nodded and pulled out the picture again, inspecting and looking back to the young man before her repeating that title again, "Shīfù." She pointed to Hibari, just for him to blush in all the confusion.
Haru immediately bowed and apologized for the mistake. "My sincerest apologies, Hibari-san. There's been a mix up. I-pin-chan thought you looked like her Master and mistook you for him."
"Ah." He knelt down and simply patted her head. I-pin was a good kid and he couldn't blame her for being a little confused, even though he didn't think he looked anything like the Storm Arcobaleno, he couldn't blame a child for getting mixed up like this, it happens sometimes. "It's okay little one, I hope you can find him soon." And Hibari went on his way.
I-pin was glad he understood it was all a mix up. But that left her with one problem, just where was her precious master Fon? Had she lost him? Could she find him again?
"I-pin, there you are!" A very familiar voice called to her and Hibari sighed in relief. Fon had returned and immediately walked over to a very excited I-pin.
She bowed in greeting, "Shīfù!" She smiled proudly and presented the gifts.
Fon accepted the gifts with pride, bowing himself after patting her on the head. "Xièxiè." A simple thank you was all it took to make I-pin's day.
Hibari smiled and walked away, thankful the mix up had been settled and I-pin could be reunited with her master now. Haru and Kyoko went on their way as well, now thankful Fon and I-pin could spend some time together.
Fon presented a teapot and motioned for I-pin to follow him. "We have much to catch up on, I-pin. Come, let's have tea."
Everything had worked out in the end, it was all a case of mistaken identity and a child with good intentions but very poor eyesight.

Hii. Ive read you Aqukana analysis, its very good but i think you are missing the fact that you dont have to be an idol to be someones oshi. Gorou was sarina oshi and he wasnt an idol.
Hi anon! You're referring to this particular ask I answered here, right?
Good point, before I begin answering, I really would like to tell you all I really have a hard time arguing/debating/disagreeing with others, it's something I feel so nervous about, so um, whereas I enjoy talking and theorizing, imagining away... I don't really enjoy having to prove my point or to further explain how I feel the way I think, or discuss things that I'm not so prepared for. It's very selfish of me to be this way, right? But is is how I am... It's why I usually would refrain from talking so much because I hate disagreeing with people or having to explain myself...but I guess this fandom has things that initiate me to talk through those emotional barriers I have.
For this though!/// I can provide an even more detailed answer. Earlier in that ask, I wrote that Kana trying to be Aqua's "favorite idol" is actually what keeps her from becoming his lover.
This doesn't literally mean "idol" as a job. That's why I put a "" there! The word here is "oshi", right? and I think that's something very similar to being someone's stan? Someone you look up to, their favorite person... but you don't usually date someone you "stan", I believe. They're someone who you watch from afar and cheer for.
The idea of "oshi", the way I interpret it, does include the idea of "idolizing" and "fantasizing" about the other party. That makes you drift a bit further from actually having an understanding of said person, as you see them more as a figure you look up to, rather than someone you have an equal standing with. Sarina-Ruby says Sensei(Gorou) is her Oshi later on when Aqua gets pretty depressed, right? I forget which chapter exactly, but that's where I sort of figured that okay, that whole idea of her loving Aqua was resolved. She doesn't need to have Aqua as a lover(^^;;;;)in order to be happy. If he's happy, she would be too. Kind of like how watching your favorite idol from afar could bring you a smile. So AquaRuby won't happen, I believe. Not only that the idea of them being siblings would get in the way... that plot point was already sort of resolved the moment Ruby stated that Gorou is her oshi. Having him as an oshi is enough for Ruby.(thank goodness)
Kana is trying to become Aqua's "favorite idol" or "oshi" through being an idol. So the two are interconnected in her case. She dreams of Aqua looking only her with her glow stick and that's her idea of being his "oshi", but I feel like.. even if she becomes one last moment in her graduation concert, she'll step down from being an idol, right? She'll be back to being a "person" because her being an idol is what's made her his "oshi". And being a "person", a girl Aqua always had this romantic interest for, would be more ideal for her to actually achieve her desires of becoming his romantic partner. Kana has to choose between becoming Aqua's "oshi" or his date, and the fact that the plot made her wish to quit being an idol makes me think that they intend for the latter.
Hope this answers your question!

7. Post a snippet from a wip.
20. Do you prefer writing AUs or canon fics?
21. Do you prefer writing chaptered fics or one-shots?
38. What is your most self-indulgent posted story?
74. Do you have a fic you wish got a bit more love?
Well YOU don't ask for much, do ya? :P
7. Ghost snippet!
Fai was a lot of things—flighty, flamboyant, funny, sweet, even occasionally serious when he had to be—but Kurogane had never seen him look like this. His expression was almost angry, and his eyes snapped with some barely-restrained emotion. He pivoted on his heel and started marching away. “H-hey!” Kurogane protested. “Where are you going?” Fai didn’t answer, and Kurogane could do nothing but follow him. Fai went straight to the headmistress’s office and threw open the door without knocking. She was on the phone, but she hung up when she saw them without even making an excuse to her caller. “What can I do for you, Fai-sensei?” “You really think I’m going to let him go without me?” Fai shouted.
20. AU or canon? hmmmmm very depends on the fandom. Obviously TRC is my main jam and I've dabbled with lots of different things in that fandom. My old HP stuff from my youth was almost all AU. ON the other hand, a lot of the fandoms where I've only dabbled and written one or two fics tend to be canon(ish), I think because I only really start exploring AUs after I've spent enough time to go through some of my canon concepts.
.... you know, I actually think my favorite thing is probably canon AU-type stuff. Like, exploring how canon could go differently if X or Y. Final answer.
21. Longfic or one-shots? Listen. I don't know how to shut the fuck up. I have written a lot of one-shots, actually, but I am a long-form writer at heart. I want to build things over time. I'm a friends (or enemies)-to-lovers and slowburn ho. Give me chapters or give me death.
38. What is your most self-indulgent posted story? Oh, definitely Drinks and Subtle Things (Rockstar AU). I did not choose a focus character and chose all of them. I gave all of them just, so many fucking issues, and then I covered them in tattoos and oral sex about it.
Runner up: All the Faults You've Left Behind, closely followed by the other fics where I wrote Kurogane x Doumeki. I remain the only person who has ever used that tag on AO3. Just me, paddling my one-person kayak merrily down the stream.
74. Do you have a fic you wish got a bit more love? I could say my overly-long fic for the 2022 KuroFai Olympics, or grump about how few people leave comments in general these days especially in a fuckoff gigantic fandom like Critical Role, but I'm trolling tonight. I think more people should read my absolutely idiotic Holitsuba-verse porn. Woe, Home Care and Sensei and Souffles be upon ye.
Wanna ask me about my fic? Here's a list of questions. Anonymous is fine with me.

Hello, I am using my main account since I can't ask questions with my sideblog. Thank you again for the questions choices, they were all awesome: 2), 4), 8), 17), 32), 38), 46), 52), 61), 67), 73)
Thank you for the ask!! Interesting choices~
2) A character in Saiyuki that grew on you
I always like Goku. I don't know why I liked him when I was little, but the more I know his story the more I like him. I'm quite sad when people see him like a child, he sees so much more than it seems. I'm thrilled to see how sensei developed his character, specially in Even a Worm arc, and how sensei drew him much more mature in Blast. Not only Sanzo, but he's like the sun to me too :3 There are many characters that grew on me as I spent more time with Saiyuki, Sanzo, Koumyo, Tenkai, Jikaku, Gat…
4) Favorite member of Kougaiji’s group
Is Zakuro part of his group? Yeah? No? Then Instructor Wang it is. I'm… oddly attracted to eccentric old men lmao.
8) Which character do you really dislike?
This is a hard question, I never really dislike a character as they all have their background stories… If I have to choose though, Li Touten, probably, for using Nataku like that :/
17) How long have you enjoyed Saiyuki?
I watched Reload and Reload Gunlock on TV when I was in elementary school, and you know they used sensei's art for the ending songs? I was so captivated that I searched for the manga. That's the first time I really worked myself to search for something. I just realized it's been around 20 years… omg
32) Do you enjoy writing/drawing/creating fan works for the Saiyuki fandom?
Absolutely! I write and draw and make covers, also translating the songs to English. I used many websites and you can see them here. I wish I have the energy to create more… at least to finish the ones I started..
38) Do you binge read the entire series or read selected chapters?
Sometimes I binge read, sometimes I read selected chapters. Mostly I read selected chapters when I'm in the mood!
46) If [character] died, what do you think they’d be reborn as?
Since you didn't give me the character, I'll go with Goku for the next two questions. By the way, I don't think Goku will die soon, I headcanon him aging very slowly… I wrote a fanfic about this, where Goku lives in the modern world lol. But anyway, I kinda imagine him reborn as a celestial being, much like Jeep, with powers and big responsibility for the world. A dragon maybe? I never thought about this before actually so I just type whatever pops up in my head lol
52) What are 3 tropes that describe [character]?
Amnesiac Hero :(
Innocent but Powerful
Bottomless Pit, as they always say
61) Do you seek out spoilers or avoid at all cost?
I don't mind spoilers, sometimes it helps me to get into the story better.
67) What’s something you think would improve the series?
Remake all the animated versions, with quality. Let's say, by Platinum Vision, the one who produces Reload Blast. Honestly, I like Saiyuki so much, but I don't rewatch it that much, besides Burial, because of the quality of the animes… It's also the reason why it's so hard to tell my friends about Saiyuki. People tend to watch rather than read, but I don't really want people to watch Saiyuki with the quality they have now. So yeah…
73) What character is still a mystery to you?
I wanna say Koumyo but well, I'm more interested in Tenkai and Taruchie. They're the ones with connection, connecting Ibun, which I see as the oldest story of Saiyuki on earth, and Blast, which will be the ending of it. Even though they're not the center of the plot, I believe they took an important part in it. That also brings me to Sai Tai Sai... but I guess we'll find out about Sai in the future. I hope to see Tenkai and Taruchie lore as well :3

Kakashi, for all the questions.
1. Why do you like or dislike this character?
I love Kakashi because he's dorky, kind-hearted, always trying his best even when the world is against him, and just generally a really good dude even though he has some pretty solid reasons to turn cold and angry to the world.
I dislike that he doesn't know what is too much in training (that genjutsu he put Sakura under on day one, my DUDE), that he wants to save Sasuke and see's how much Sasuke means to Sakura and Naruto but continues to support Konoha and admonishes Sasuke for his anger, that he continues to hero worship Obito after finding out all the horrible things he did, and that he's such a rude ass sometimes (but also i kinda love that he's a rude ass. it depends on the situation lol)
2. Favorite canon thing about this character?
that he's so open and friendly even after all he has lost. this man has every reason to close his heart off to new people and avoid creating new bonds but instead, he opens his heart wider and becomes friends with people in an instant without concern or restriction. even when he has just fought them.
3. Least favorite canon thing about this character?
his hero worship. not even just of Obito, but of people like Minato and even Lord Third (though that one is much less. He seem's to recognize that Lord Third is kinda trash but also doesn't question Naruto when he hero worships the old man)
4. If you could put this character in any other media, be it a book, a movie, anything, what would you put them in?
so MANY THINGS.
Pokemon and Star Trek are my main two though. Places where he'll excel and his intelligence can really shine through.
5. What's the first song that comes to mind when you think about them?
I'm a Mess by Bebe Rexha
The Other Side by Huge Jackman and Zach Efron
Rescue Me by One Republic
8. What's something the fandom does when it comes to this character that you despise?
You want a list?
Kakashi's the worst Sensei.
Depression = Incapable of caring for himself
Kakashi did nothing for the plot (huge plot points require Kakashi and his past to even make sense at all)
Kakashi's so weak (against gods ya, but among regular ass shinobi he's top tier)
Kakashi taught Sakura, Sasuke and Naruto nothing (straight up lies)
Kakashi didn't care about Sakura (lies)
Kakashi favoured Sasuke (Lies again. Seeing parts of himself in Sasuke and knowing Sasuke needed extra aid/protection due to the current circumstances =\= favoritism)
Kakashi didn't care about Gai (LIES LIES LIES LIES LIES)
9. Could you be roommates with this character?
Probably. He's cannonly very neat and organized. Would get his ass kicked for keeping his shoes on inside, but otherwise i think we'd get along <3
10. Could you be best friends with this character?
Yes, definitly. He's lots of fun and generally just nice and that's all I need to be friends with someone. Plus he'll choose me as a friend without issue and make me mingle with people which is exactly what i need
11. Would you date this character?
*Shoves Kakashi out of the way* Absolutely not. I do not want to be dating someone who reminds me of myself. Give me Gai instead thanks :)
12. What's a headcanon you have for this character?
I headcanon that he has fangs and that he wears his mask because he realized everytime he smiled his father got a little sad so he wanted to hide his smile. He never realized this was because his smile is a copy and paste of his mother's and Sakumo was seeing his wife in Kakashi.
13. What's an emoji, an emoticon and/or any symbol that reminds you of this character or you think the character would use a lot?
what a time to be on my laptop instead of my phone XD
Umm any dog Emoji as well as the thumbs up emoji
14. Assign a fashion aesthetic to this character.
Terrible.
Man doesn't know what fashion is and i appreciate that for him. If i had to choose a specific fashion i'd go with the 'History professor' or 'Literary professor' fashion. whichever one has sweater vests XD
15. What's your favorite ship for this character? (Doesn't matter if it's canon or not.)
KAKAGAI (Though i'm sure no one is surprised by that XD)
16. What's your least favorite ship for this character?
Ummm so not counting one's that make me uncomfertable/i won't interact with at all
KakaO*bi and KakaR*n are probably at the top, but right next to them would be KakaM*i.(censored so it doesn't go into the ship tags cuz that's rude)
17. What's a ship for this character you don't hate but it's not your favorite that you're fine with?
KakaAn*o. I used to really love the ship but the way some (most) of the shippers treat it i just lost interest so hard, but can still write for/enjoy it in my own little bubble
18. How about a relationship they have in canon with another character that you admire?
Kakashi and Gai!!! I love their friendship so much T.T it's sweet and they rely on each other so much.
19. How about a relationship they have in canon that you don't like?
Kakashi's relationship with Minato <\3 I wish Kakashi had been allowed to get angry with his Sensei, and the people who put a teenager in charge of a broken traumatized child. I hate how he views Minato as this great person who did so much but refuses to understand that he did MORE (largely cuz he survived longer but still) and i loath that he looks at Minato as some sort of hero and never recognizes that the way Minato handled him as a Sensei were terrible and made a lot of his situations worse/did nothing to actually help. Like, Kakashi screwed up as a Sensei but you can tell he's trying his best and genuinely cares about his students.
With Minato it feels like Kakashi was a burden to him that he didn't want to deal with most of the time.
20. Which other character is the ideal best friend for this character, the amount of screentime they share doesn't matter?
Kakashi and Gai is the obvious choice
But also Yamato. I really hate how Canon did Yamato so dirty when he was clearly Kakashi's other best friend who deserved a lot more respect and care.

well. i meant in ask form so these would be easier to respond to but since nobody actually sent me anything (😔) ill just respond to all these. under a readmore tho because uhh lolllll it's Long
Oni Trilogy is an incredible story but sometimes bores me as a Ninjago story specifically
ehhh I wouldn't call Oni Trilogy an incredible story. Personally I think the miniseries at the end of the trilogy is kinda weak, and some aspects of the entire thing are underdeveloped. I wouldn't consider it boring, I don't think I was ever bored watching it, but I wouldn't consider it a masterpiece even if its one of my favorite parts of OG ninjago.
Sensei Garmadon is a cool idea but he's RIDICULOUSLY overrated / Reborn Garmadon shouldn't become Sensei Garmadon
Agreed, and I put these two together bc I believe the way that the fandom distincts post-venom garmadon as a separate person from other stages of his life is one of the more regrettable fanon inventions. I don't think Reborn Garmadon CAN become Sensei Garm, because "Sensei Garm" as a distinct entity never really existed.
Skybound really could've been an immaculate Nya season if the writers were cool like that and Lego were cool like that
Skybound is.... complicated, to me. On one hand I think my opinion of it has lightened significantly since I first watched it, in that I do think it genuinely tries to do something interesting with the themes of Nya's identity and the sexism she faces, her complicated feelings about the love triangle situation, and the part Jay has to play in all of it. In some ways, I can appreciate that it hits those points in a less conventional, "Nya is a girlboss who don't need no man" way, that her struggle is partially in trying to reconcile her still-existing love for Jay with the messy developments in their relationship. Buuuuut on the other hand, I think there's no excusing the choice to entangle racist caricatures/ transmisogynistic tropes/ etc in with your evil embodiment of misogynistic control, and I think the season ultimately fails to convey anything particularly meaningful about sexism when its too busy trying to ensure that jay and nya get together at the end above all else.
I like season 2 filler
I'll be honest I dont even remember what counts as filler to people. Is it the pirates vs ninja thing or something? Get real what are you even watching this show for if you don't expect wacky hijinks.
I think Pythor as a villain is definitely top-tier, and his motives are way more interesting with the added context of season 4, but I'd say Kalmaar (despite being a retread of Pythor) can be a lot more endearing at times
Pythor is top-tier in his dialogue, his attitude, the way he's just become a guy who will show up bc he loves the drama. But I think the added context of the serpentine war makes his actual canon characterization less comprehensible. It's certainly interesting to try to marry these parts of him, knowing he and basically.... every other serpentine were genuinely fucked over, but at the end of the day it leaves a sour taste in my mouth that Ninjago decided that the only anacondrai who could survive the war, did so because he's a selfish cannibalistic piece of shit. I definitely think Kalmaar functions better as a "wants to eliminate all of humanity" villain because quite frankly his hatred of humans doesn't come from anything that would be reasonable, not even the easy out of something like "they pollute the ocean!," he's just an entitled bigot at the end of the day.
Pythor SHOULD still be a villain, that s4 moment WASN'T a redemption at all, but he DEFINITELY shouldn't just be a boring henchman for other villains
Eh, I dont really think I'm all that interested in seeing Pythor as a big bad again, which is like... the only way he'd really become a villain that doesn't just choose to be an occasional henchman for fun. If anything I'd kinda love to see him playing both sides more, with his history he could easily work as an informant for whoever benefits him in the moment, but maybe that'd make him too much like Ronin so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
For me, Zane hasn't really been interesting past season 4
Guess that'll have to stay for you then, because to me the s11 stuff is vastly interesting to explore even if its already been done to death by the fandom, and I'm even more excited by his DR potential. But there's definitely some places in the story where Zane has been not that interesting in between those.
Ninjago Confidential just feels like a Jaya episode but Pixane instead Idk maybe that one is just me…
Can't fathom how, neither jay nor nya seem the type to be going around consciously pretending to be characters to do a job (jay maybe when he's distressed, but then he wouldn't be doing it on purpose), and I would not trade the cute Pixane interactions in that episode for the world
Wu IS a bad mentor at times, but he's not actively malicious nor does he ever intentionally harm his students??? If you want a mentor like that, his name is Lord Ras.
He's never been actively malicious, but honestly,,, I'm not sure if even the majority of his haters ever thought it was? I think a lot of people moreso disliked the dissonance of the narrative of ninjago treating Wu as the unquestioningly wise leader when he didn't always act that way and sometimes actively gave bad advice. And I will admit, early seasons especially were not very cognizant of if the lessons Wu was teaching were actually.... good. There are times when he overworks them or expects something unrealistic, and the narrative treats that as a necessary toughening-up of the ninja in a way I find distasteful. But I think the vast majority of later seasons, really s5 onwards, do a lot to rectify that and retcon some of these harsher moments into something more complex. And it was never so present to me that I think Wu deserves to be treated as a character with no redeeming qualities.
The DR elements are stupid, but in a way unique to Ninjago. They're Ninjago Stupid, thus they are good and fun.
People calling DR elements stupid are forgetting shit like "form" and "speed" are ninjago mos originals. Quite frankly, again, what are you even here for if you want this show to have a hard magic system that it takes super seriously? We have fun here sir.
It's fair for Lloyd to not be 100% trusting of his father in Crystalized, while wanting/attempting to get Harumi away from the Overlord's side
So truuuuuuu but even if it wasn't. Why do people want Lloyd to not be a hypocrite? That's literally his funniest quality.
Harumi shouldn't just disappear from the show because you disliked her in Crystalized???
Are people saying this fr? hope they get better soon <3 Personally I think she'd be an IDEAL candidate for showing up and helping Arin work thru his issues after the situation with Ras inevitably blows up
March of the Oni is the only season I actively dislike
Its not the only season I dislike but as said above, its meh.
FSM was an awful father but he wasn't intentionally malicious, he was born in a war and everyone wanted to make a weapon out of him. It's fair to assume a kid who spent his younger years running and fighting wouldn't be a Great dad.
Similarly to the situation with Wu, yeah... I think we're going to be learning quite a bit about FSM's past in DR and I'm very excited for that, but even without that context I think it's obvious he was trying his damndest. If anything I think its a little tragic how he seems to have just.... given up being a part of the world, in the end. I'm coming to a realization about DR now so I'm probably going to make a separate post about this later but for now... that's all folks!
carter sent me a joke one b4 i even asked but do yall wanna send me your controversial/unpopular/ whatever ninjago opinions for funsies? i love kvetching with friends <3

Get to know our animanga fandom mutuals/followers better?
I miss doing stuff like this so I’m here after reading the one @ccprovolomies did :D
How did you find out about anime?
I watched anime all my childhood without knowing I was (Saint Seya, Dragon Ball, Sailor Moon, Doremi, Digimon, Pokemon, etc)
It was only until around 5th or 6th grade when the boys in class were excitedly talking about Naruto that was broadcasted on cable TV with Portuguese subtitles
(Which thank goodness at the time because now they only dub and I don’t expect kids to grow up and study Japanese like I did because they love dubbed stuff. I talk for myself I can’t watch Doraemon or Ninja Hattori unless it’s Spanish dubbed because that’s how I watched it as a kid)
that I discovered it was something Japanese
Also, it’s weird how my cousin would know how to do the jutsus signs but we never talked about animanga stuff until I brainwashed him into One Piece (I spent our 8th grade summer talking about every arc I watched and we’re talking about 500 epis at the time -.-’ )
What’s your favorite anime?
I have to say One Piece, because Oda-sensei is a genius in how detailed the artwork and specially the plot is. Like the manga is the same age as I am and there’s little stuff that happened all those years ago that connect to the present day. My mind gets blown away with it.
Also let me say I’m not a comedy person and the funny things in OP was a major block to start it but now I love it, I was a happy laughing 114-year-oldgirl that summer...Aside from that one, I’m all over the place in taste, like, my MyAnimeList has 800 completed and watching combined entries. I’m majorly a shounen & sports girl, but I like romance and shoujo ones too. Slice of life if they aren’t too slow and I run away from most comedy (I’m sorry Gintama and  @ccprovolomies )
Do you have a favorite J-music/K-pop group/singer?
Regarding K-pop, just read my blogs description J-music is difficult to summarize because I listened to all openings and endings of those 00s and early 10s animes
When is your bday? And how old are you?
Today (26/03) I turn 25 and I’m ready for the quarter of a century existential crisis combined with all the 2020s drama still going on
Currently, what is your favorite fandom anime?
Sadly I don’t do much fandom interactions on Tumblr, but I follow One Piece and Avatar the Last Airbender through Facebook (which is a lot of print screened stuff from here ahahah) I was surprised to see how many people are on the Akagami no Shirayukihime, Akatsuki no Yona and Ao no Exorcist fandom, when I made posts about it the 100 notes came quickly!!
Despite the ups and downs of Tumblr, what motivates you to stay here today and do your best?
I know people from the old age, but I only started in 2016 during college and the start of my K-Pop era (which I delayed from centuries because I knew what a rabbit hole it was - like I listened to BoA, 2ne1 and Big Bang in Japanese only)
What motivates me? Organisational obession and a liking of GIF posts mostly
Before it was to be updated with K stuff, now it’s mostly for pretty stuff/artistic things/social awareness/anime & tv series
I come here to distract myself through destroying the always growing 1000 drafts and pinpoint how my queue will be scheduled (always alternative posts) and enjoy myself checking up all the blogs that give me notes like you @ccprovolomies
Finally, create yourself in this picrew:
https://href.li/?https://picrew.me/image_maker/395214
Tumblr media
I adore the amount of K-pop light stick to choose from but being multifandom (even if I love the GOT7 one) I couldn’t choose
Tagging: Whoever wants to do it and follows me <3 Seriously, would love to read your answers!! I don’t know if my IRL friends want to do this (girls?)

Kimetsu no Yaiba and its ties with traditional Japanese culture
Just a ramble and a little dive into what makes the Kimetsu fandom so engaging for someone who, as I like to say, “broke the weeb scale a long time ago.”
From the perspective of the craft of writing, Gotouge is clearly a novice. While Kimetsu is not a debut work, it’s nearly that, which is why Gotouge only got so big of a deal on anime rights due to (previous) lack of name recognition. It commits all kinds of writing sins; the flashbacks were never hinted to until they become relevant, contrived conveniences move the plot, and I’ve never seen more egregious use of telling instead of showing.  But despite all that, it’s told with a lot of heart. The core bonds between people and character motivations drive the story beyond all those execution flaws. The premise is straightforward and hits on core classic themes found throughout human history of fiction. It’s that lack of nuance sometimes, as well as the pure love put into these characters, that sometimes makes me feel like I’m watching a little alligator child play with action figures and light up as they pause the pretend dialogue to tell you all kinds of exciting things about the world they are having the toys fly through whilst also making ‘bang, pow’ sound effects as they resume play.  (The art likewise commits so many sins but that is so freaking endearing, let’s move on.) A large part of what attracted me to Kimetsu in the first place was the aesthetic. Samurai style warfare never gets old, element-based powers never get old, and when it comes to character designs, the motifs used throughout the series are merchandise gold for how recognizable they are. There’s a certain lack of mainstream Taisho Era manga, despite that being a very exciting and fashionable era made all the more nostalgic for its brevity and relative pre-Showa peacefulness.  You know what, I’m just going to skip the preamble and get straight to it: the more deep diving you do, the more you realize, oh hell, this alligator had a ship-ton of detail and background in this.
Whether intentional or not, the series has provided a huge wealth of ties to traditional folklore, and when people who know a lot about this stuff start theorizing and pulling in outside research, dang, they can get going.  Some examples I’ve heard:  1. Drawing comparisons to just about every demon legend out there, including spider demons in the mountain, demons that mingle among the courtesans, demons that attain the ability to live among humans by practicing self-restraint, and so on and so on and so on.  2. Tracing the origins of the series to some of the most ancients writings in Japan and showing how many rules and themes of demon slaying have remained consistent throughout centuries of legends. 3. Diving into the local folklore of the places tied with the series (for example, I heard a passing comment about the islands were Iguro is from having men and women live separately, which I have not verified with my own research). 4. Pulling in places not mentioned specifically in canon but bare distinct similarities with canon elements, such as many tourist sites that have recently exploded in popularity around the country (for example, one of my favorite sword-forging sites in Shimane, or a couple shrines that just happen to be called Kamado Shrine with the same somewhat rare kanji, or a garden famous for its extensive use of wisteria.) 5. Diving into the origins of names (such as how the pronunciation of “Agatsuma” has roots in Shinto mythology of a god singing the praises of his wonderful wife) and traditional patterns (the Ichimatsu (checkerboard) patterns having ties to enduring continuity, many other patterns being used to ward off evil, etc.) It’s such a fun rabbit hole (or, swamp demon hole??) which fans go really, really deep in their theories, bringing in uncanny comparisons to historical botanists or insisting that just because something has roots in the Heian period it must be chosen on purpose because you know who else has roots in the Heian period? Kibutsuji Muzan. It’s all connected, Wani-sensei, sugooooooiiiiiiii!!!! And I love to get wrapped up in that too (see here), but then when I consider translating the juicy details, I usually stop for two reasons:
1. That’s... that a lot of background that would take a really long time to explain. 2. When you get down to it, a lot of it is just fun coincidences, and I think it’s too far of a stretch to make them canon theories.  It’s when I choose not to translate them that I reach two conclusions.  1. Whether consciously or unconsciously, it’s very possible Gotouge did take these sorts of very, very trivial details into account when designing the characters, especially giving the very clear level of research that did go into specifying a lot of the character details. Like, seriously, Wani-sensei, how many yyyyyyyears have you spent soaking all this up? The sheer level of Taisho Era world building is a testament to that.  2. Even without all those layers of ties to centuries and centuries of folklore, at its core, the story remains engaging because of the elements mentioned previously. It’s a classic tale of good versus evil; there are no elemental powers, it’s just people doing the best they can because they have motives that drive them--familial love, revenge, duty, regret, filling in something that’s missing.  But oh, man, oh my demons, how I love, love, love how this series stokes my nerdy side, I love it, I want to climb ALL THOSE MOUNTAINS AROUND TOKYO AS FANDOM PILGRIMAGES AND DON’T EVEN GET ME STARTED ON HOW MUCH THIS FANDOM HAS INFILTRATED EVEN MY TEA CEREMONY LESSONS EVER SINCE THAT RIKYU-BAI NATSUME REMINDED ME AND MY CLASSMATE OF UZUI TENGEN, I CANNOT FULLY CONCENTRATE or even BREATHE, SENSEI, I CANNOT PRACTICE THIS ‘OCHA NO KOKYUU’ WHEN YOU KEEP MAKING KIMETSU REFERENCES, AND I AM NOT EVEN THE ONLY ONE WHO MADE THAT INOKO-MOCHI JOKE, STAHP------

I saw this in my feed and since I was pretty bored and FINALLY free from the said boredom, figured I could do this one. I generally enjoy question based tags, especially if they relate to art/writing/fandom/are some general things about favorite colors, music, foods, things about your home country etc.
(basically, you can tag me in stuff similar to listed above things and I’ll probably do them if I see them/have time lmao)
Fic Writer Questions!
How many works do you have on AO3?
44 total. I used to have more but I’ve deleted an old Bleach one I knew I’d never continue to write, and two bnha ones for the same reason (those two were also at the very beginning stages so nobody missed a lot anyway)
What's your total AO3 wordcount?
4 269 068......wow. It’s even MORE than I even imagined. Over 4 million words.
....Someone take my writing tools away from me lmao
How many fandoms have you written for and what are they?
Three. I started with MCU, moved on to Bleach and now I’ve done most ofr BNHA
What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Crossroads - 3069
Family Secrets - 3015
Reanimate - 1534
The neighbor - 809
Espada and Fraccion - 782
.....Admittedly this list surprised me. Not the first three but the last two. The fifth is an one shot for Bleach that I wrote AGES ago. I also for some reason expected this list to match the bookmark list more lmao
Do you respond to comments, why or why not?
I always try to respond to every comment I get, but often times when it’s just one word or a heart emoji I don’t really know what to say, so I might not reply to those. I do appreciate every comment I get, and read every single one, even if I don’t respond
What's the fic you've written with the angstiest ending?
I don’t do angst endings typically, but Family Secrets is probs the most obvious choice, given what happens at the end.
- and its not even the real end, because I couldn’t help myself and made two more stories for the AU that was like “hey! this character I made you all love so much actually DIDN’T die, he just had unfinished business back home” lmao
Do you write crossovers? If so what is the craziest one you've ever written?
Rarely, typically they’re between my own fics (the story that crosses the paths of Crossroads and Family Secrets AU’s, literally titled Crossover, creative name I know OTL I was out of ideas)
Or between me and other people’s fics. Currently there’s two, both with Crossroads: one with Theteapotofdoom’s fic Something Good, and another with leontheneon’s fic Here with you. Both stories are basically a two part series that is non canon to actual Crossroads. The first story is finished, second one has two chapters left...that...I uh...struggle to write it seems OTL
(not tagging either person into this because Tea is very busy IRL right now so I don’t want to bother her, and Leon hasn’t been around in ages, IDK if they even use tumblr anymore)
Have you ever received hate on a fic?
Not really no? I can only remember one time with somebody kind of demanding me to completely rewrite one fic in the past. It wasn’t really hate, more just...kinda unreasonable in my eyes? This was years ago by now.
While I did understand their side and the particular struggle they had (once they actually explained it, the first comment at the time came off pretty rude and demanding), I still feel them wanting me to re-write an entire multi-chapter fic just for them is a bit unreasonable, like said.
Like it wasn’t just couple of grammatical errors that was their issue, we’re talking weeks and even months long process of completely reworking multi-chapter story, because the grammar wasn’t tip top perfect. (I’m not a native speaker so there’s bound to be some mistakes; pointing out small occasional things is one thing - asking me to rewrite an entire multi-chapter story is another)
You can imagine that is not exactly high on my priorities list with IRL responsibilities and being more focused on the actual content of what I write, the ongoing stories I’m updating. This fic isn’t even finished yet either, so...yeah. Like after they explained their side of the story I was a bit more understanding, but its still....a bit ridiculous and unreasonable in my eyes to ask somebody to do such a massive overhaul when the story isn’t even finished yet?? Like maybe once its done and I have time I can go and edit it, but not when I haven’t even finished it lmao
Do you write smut? If so what kind?
Nah. I don’t care about smut a whole lot personally. I much more enjoy writing emotional scenes, character interactions and mystery. Plot over porn basically lmao
Have you ever had a fic stolen?
I don’t...do people actually do this? It feels like such a weird and pointless thing to do. It’s fanfic. stuff you write for fun and for free, for people to read for free. I’d also imagine its pretty easy to get caught given AO3 shows when you first posted your story.
Have you ever had a fic translated?
Yes, a couple of times. In Russian and I think other one was Chinese?
Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Writing the crossovers was kinda that? Like I asked feedback from Tea and Leon on how to write them. there was also actually third crossover story that was supposed to happen (only I wasn’t going to be the one to write it) but this project has been shelved as the other person had to drop majority of online activity due to some IRL health related things. (I’m just glad they recently contacted me to inform they were doing better)
What’s your all time favorite ship?
Right now it’s..probably pretty obvious its Shigadabi, but I can never really say any ship is my all time fave, as it always changes depending on the fandom lmao.
I guess my favorite character x proper sleep/emotional stability/happiness will always be the OTP
What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?
Oof. I always try to finish every single one, and if I absolutely know I won’t, I tend to just delete them. Thankfully I’ve only done it thrice. Which I guess is still a lot, but compared to how much I write, in context not really?
What are your writing strengths?
From what I’ve gathered of feedback, its typically emotional moments/character dialogue and interaction/character arcs and so. Mystery plots too. Or maybe that last one is just me lmao
What are your writing weakness?
Personally, while I tend to get positive feedback on both, sometimes I feel like I struggle to choose a good pacing for a fic, and fight scenes are always a pain. Namely, I might struggle with making the pace too long-winded and slow sometimes. Ironically, my IRL update pacing is probs a bit too fast in turn. (To add another layer of irony, I got an update ready for Unravel that I’ll post after making this tag)
Also writing shorter stories. I’ve been trying to write one-shots more (like the Spinaraki series thing) to kinda try and get myself to pack up my stories better and not let them always spiral out of control haha
What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?
I did try to do that once with a fic I deleted, I had a native speaker help me with the canadian french bits. This person is no longer active on tumblr, and I deleted that fic because I realized I’d never finish it.
Technically tho, as a non-native English speaker, EVERY word is in other language to me lmao. I could only add Finnish as an extra one easily, and it rarely makes sense to do so anyway.
What was the first fandom you ever wrote for?
MCU. It’s what I originally made my AO3 for, as I felt brave enough to post things. I also can’t remember writing fandom related stuff before that, it was typically more oc related. Writing fics has helped me learn a lot about world-building, character consistency and all that stuff, without having to make everything from scratch (tho I do enjoy doing that as well of course). I feel like my original work writing has improved too thanks to my fic writing shenanigans in a way lmao. Tho that might just be me, IDK
What’s your favorite fic you’ve written?
Oooof. This changes a lot depending on the time. I can never really pick just one either: my current favorites are Stringmaster, The neighbor and Family Secrets
Stringmaster because I love building the Steampunk AU, and Tomura’s relationship with Dabi and his Sensei, The neighbor because I personally think the romance build up in that one is probably one of the best I’ve done so far (the character dialogue in that is among my favorites I’ve written as well) and FS, because it taught me a lot about character building through writing a character like Hisashi.
Plus I just really like Hisashi.
And baby Izuku and little Tenko are super adorable.
And Inko is the best mum.
Also the fact the whole story is so ironic in a sense its still kinda funny to me.
The only writer I know that might be around rn is @nightlilly0110 soo...I guess I’ll tag them if they want to do this! Anybody who’s a writer can snatch this too of course ;)

I will match you with Baki Sensei from the Sand. He’s the guy who’ll most likely protect you from the guys trying to hit you up. His stoic and serious aura would like literally shoo away the ones trying to bother you. He’s the guy who’s going to stay by your side until you’re home safely.
Tumblr media
warnings: headcanons, fluffs
Baki cannot deny that he was amused the first time he saw you
But he was shy to approach you. He doesn’t want you to think that he’s some kind of creep trying to make a move on you
However, when he sees you getting uncomfortable with men trying to talk with you. He knew he needed to act.
He slides his hands to your waist. Glaring at the creep trying to make a move on you.
“Sorry to keep you waiting, dear.” He says as he kiss your forehead. Of course it shocked you but you knew he was just protecting you
Good lords, Baki had sworn to himself how sweet you smell and how beautiful you are up close. Eventually he apologized for the rude actions you did.
You tried to treat him sushi for helping him but he declines, still insisting he pays.
You both talked a lot and surprisingly, he is confident to talk with you. He isn’t shy at all.
Baki insisted to walk you home and he’ll lend you his jacket.
One thing that shocked him is when you gave him a piece of paper, with your name and number.
Baki blushed. That’s when he realized he never wanted it to be a just a one night meet up.

There're so many problems with YuuMori and its fandom that I now have no choice but leave. Maybe I will share the audio of "The Hunting of Baskervilles" or "The adventure of one student" aka chapter 11 and 31 in the near future or maybe not idk anymore
At first when I read "The Two Detectives" arc, the way William solves the crime is not convincing to me at all. That was why I know from that moment that this series is weak at writing. I've turned blind eyes to its flaws too many times since then. All those years with full of love for my fav series (buying light novel, comic, merchs, dvd, stageplay, musical,...). But with what happend in The Final Problem, the way William planning his final plan (so stupid) and the cringe of Sherlock hugging William to make fan service, I feel dissapointed. With the continuation of the plot about Moran, I can't feel any connection with this manga anymore. It's a shame to abandon one of my favorite series but I choose to do it eventually (A lot of flaws in this manga but The Final Problem is the last straw and now I can't feel the plot anymore)
And joinning fandom is a pain in ass with SherLiam contents everyday and no one talk about the plot, the details, the crime cases,... etc. Not to mention most fans often assume everyone like their ship and say bad things to other smaller ones. I don't hate this cp but it feels like eating one thing everyday and it becomes a grudge. I also know sensei chose to support the biggest ship because it brings more fangirls but the quality of this manga is really going down. I've met many other fans that feel the same way with me both in real life and through different social medias so those above are facts. And everyone can both love and criticize one thing (aka Yuumori) at the same time. Please don't make this fandom become more toxic than it already is. You think it's peaceful because you are in the shipdom, but it's not the whole fandom and not everyone has to share the same opinion. Some other fans are only the small amounts so they often feel scared to voice their thoughts due to the fear of getting attacked/online bullied and I feel bad for them. And fyi, I love every character in this series and don't ship anyone so you can't blame me for biasing any couple and clouding my judgement.
I wish I could still love Will with all my heart but I can't do that anymore. The whole set of DVD will be the last thing I support 2 authors. I like them a lot but this's too hard for me to continue. Even trying to understand both author's and fandom's minds is too difficult (Been doing that for so many months but failed OTL).
If anyone still love this series, I hope you can continue supporting Yuumori and our authors. And please don't love it too blindly that it makes you not realize a "masterpiece" can also have flaws.

(Disclaimer: this contains spoilers for the Fruits Basket and Fruits Basket: Another manga, as well as taking into consideration tidbits from Takaya’s twitter.)
So, okay, first of all we have to address the YMMV aspect: Some people don’t like this ship. As long as they’re respectful, I have no beef with that. I’m well aware that some people cannot/choose not to make the distinction between “real life” and “fiction”— I have the luxury of this choice, so some of the “problematic” ships/character aspects within Furuba don’t bother me (for the most part). It’s fiction, and I’m aware of this.
Again, some people cannot/do not make this distinction, and that’s none of my business because that’s their personal life. I’m aware that people dislike aspects of Akigure, and that’s fine.
Personally? I’ve been reading Furuba since like, basically the dawn of time. I was reading scans on, like,  MSN groups. I remember a friend at church (of all places) telling me about the Akito reveal because I was behind on updates. It’s literally engrained upon my shipping heart at this point.
(Headcanons ahoy! Like literally, this is all headcanon/my perspective on the series as a whole. YMMV/YKINMK/Dead Dove, the whole works, if you know you know
YES I wrote it like it’s an actual research paper because I have No Chill At All, please forgive me. It’s long and pretty rambling.)
Addressing the first elephant in the room: Given my limited interactions with the fandom, my impression of Akigure from a generalized fan POV is that it’s pretty divisive. Every episode she comes up there are “I hate this kid” comments and I cry
Akito is a favorite of mine, and it’s impossible for anime-only’s to make a deep, informed call on her character. On the other hand, a lot of manga-readers dislike her too.
So, why am I talking about whether or not people like Akito as a character?
I’m of the opinion that it impacts people’s ability to view her character arc as one that deserves a happy ending. That she doesn’t deserve to have love, happiness, or forgiveness, all of which are given to her when she and Shigure finally end up together on equal footing. (Do I think the way it’s rushed in the original Furuba ending? Yeah, but hey. Sensei had like a huge ensemble cast to wrap ends on. Now there’s Furubana to look to and it’s just chef’s kiss.)
There’s a mental aspect in this, involving the dichotomy between “reality” and “fiction”.
There is absolutely zero argument that are a lot of things that Akito does that uh, listen, if it was IRL she’d be in jail! Jail for terror baby! Jail for life!
Fortunately, Fruits Basket is a work of fiction. These characters aren’t real, they’re idealized brushstrokes of human nature created to move a plot and a message along.
That’s why Akito and Shigure work as a couple and as characters:
They’re both incredibly deep characters that get passed off as one-dimensional by a lot of people (and the original anime, woof). Some of it is again, because anime-only fans just don’t have the whole story, since Akito’s arc is one that builds gradually until it hits a point where all hell breaks loose, which we are a ways away from.
So what’s the message that their relationship and characters are supposed to pass on?
Well, it breaks down into two categories: world building and thematic arcs. The latter is more important and what I’ll be focusing on, while the former is just a little spice that I, personally enjoy, and won’t really talk about in depth. (It’s that the magical realism in Furuba sets up the idea of soulmates, it’s just…. Something I enjoy and it’s really heacanony, so I can’t really justify spending more words on it!)
When discussing Fruits Baskets in any capacity, I feel like we must first keep in mind the thematic “lessons” of the series:
There is an inherent loneliness in living as a human being, since loss, grief, and hurt are indelible parts of the human experience, and learning to cope with these feelings in a compassionate manner is a life-long lesson
People react differently to the loneliness of existence, and their reactions are based upon their personalities, their upbringings, and their own choices
Everyone is capable of change and learning, if they choose to do so, however:
Personal agency is taught, but in the vacuum of positive reinforcement, the ability of a person to choose to be compassionate is stifled or outright inaccessible
Therefore, if you are not taught to deal with your grief and existence outside of others, your ability to connect may become warped, manipulative, or abusive, and this is not the fault of the child but instead the parental figure
Eventually, you will be aware of your actions, and then it is your burden to choose—some people do not take this choice (the head maid, Ren, Kyo’s bio dad, Rin’s parents, Sawa’s mother in Furubana)
Abuse has long lasting effects on the psyche and can be physical, emotional, and/or mental in nature and must be dealt with in order to grow as a person
“Dealt with” does not mean that it goes away, but that it is acknowledged and given a positive outlet (Yuki’s garden, Aaya’s shop, Rin’s art, Momiji’s violin playing)
Forgiveness is not linear
Forgiving yourself is a long and arduous process, and happens independent of other people’s forgiveness
This is really brought to the forefront in Fruits Basket: Another, when Shiki talks about how his mother interacts with the rest of the Sohma family. It’s shown she’s done what she can to make amends, but recognizes that while she can individually hold relationships with certain family members, as a whole, it's best if she allows them to be away from her.
This is a whole tangent on its own, but there’s a certain blanket of casual forgiveness given to Akito by the entirety of the shown Zodiac in Furubana, in that they trust that she’s raised a kind and thoughtful son and allow him the grace of his own family.
Again, in Takaya’s tweets post-series that acknowledges that Akito’s friends with Uo-chan, despite her relationship with Kureno (and it shows a depth of awareness on Kureno’s part that he stays away
People flourish in environments where love and positive reinforcement is given freely, even when people are in the wrong
This doesn’t mean that no one is ever scolded: see Komaki and Kakeru, Kisa and Hiro, Hatori chews out Shigure all the time, but never ceases being his confidant
So okay, that’s A Lot. But every single character in Furuba follows these themes in their own manner, because the series is about healing and learning how to heal from abuse, neglect, and isolation. Someone’s gonna have to be doing it. Point blank, the end, to tell a story there must be conflict, and boy howdy, there’s a lot of conflict in Furuba. Every personal thematic arc in the series ends up tying into a romantic one, because Furuba is a romcom drama.
There’s a loop that goes “personal betterment”->”crush”/”friendship”->”conflict”->”personal growth”/”relationship growth” in the series for every character. That’s the bread and butter of Furuba.
But anyway. To the question:
I love them because they work, they’re both their own people with their own narrative focuses, motivations, conflicts, and flaws. Both Shigure and Akito are believable in their own right in the context of Furuba, and I think Takaya did wonderfully in crafting a story where their personalities mesh well and give each other reasons to better themselves.
To talk about them together, you have to talk about them separately.
I’m gonna start with Shigure because, truthfully?
I just want to lament about how often he’s simply passed off as either comic relief or absolute trash. He’s so underestimated!
“He’s a joke of a grown man… He is reliable and I trust him.” (Another, v. 3)
He’s incredibly intelligent when it comes to interpersonal relationships, which is why he’s able to do what he does. He’s also incredibly kind—no one made him take in Yuki or Kyo or Tohru. He could have just went “ah, I’d prefer not to” and moved on. But he didn’t, made up some bullshit so Haru would feel like taking in Yuki was a transaction, and let me just tell you, I am the same age as Shigure and if you gave ME three teenagers to be the guardian of?! It would be a full on disaster.
He’s actually incredibly trustworthy (if he wants to be), insightful, and a genuinely good guardian despite his jokes and wisecracking.
He forced Kyo to go back to school, knowing full well it would be good for him. He lets a whole host of children run rampant through his home. Kids who actually enjoy his presence. He’s shown as having a good familial relationship with Rin (who tries to warp that for her own means), Kisa, Haru, and Momiji. His advice to Tohru is genuine, insightful, and ridiculously helpful.
Shigure is good with people. He gets up at the crack of dawn to drive Shiki to see Sawa in Furubana. He’s who Mutsuki and Hajime immediately go “holy shit you need to do something about this” to when they find out Shiki’s getting nasty notes about Akito. He’s who Shiki goes to when Sawa fell down the stairs as a child. As much as Shiki and the others make fun of Shigure, he’s obviously someone who’s trustworthy. And that’s not some new development, he’s always been trustworthy in regards to those he loves. No one asked him to show up to Tohru’s teacher conference, he volunteered. Like this dude loves people, he’s the dog spirit after all, and rightly so.
Does he have his own motivations? Of course! But so does everyone else in Furuba. He’s a complex character, man!
He laughs and jokes a lot because he’s projecting this image of a laid back, doofus. When you think about who he’s friends with, the whole middling goofball act makes a lot of sense. Just like some of Ayame’s over the top behavior is a defense mechanism, I believe that Shigure casts himself as a generally unappealing man to keep himself safe from advances when he was in school, but also to temper the wildly unequal personalities of his other two friends. He’s the sort of person who would just go “eh, whatever makes it easy”, and that’s just how he is.
He doesn’t mean the creepy school girl thing, it’s a bit and I think the only people who don’t realize he’s running a bit are Yuki, Kyo, and Tohru who are absolutely too stupid to realize he’s playing them for reactions. He thinks it’s funny.
Anyway:
Tumblr media
When the older Zodiac had the dream of Shigure, Shigure is the only one who made the active choice to seek out that feeling. His soul was touched, and he decided that he wanted that and only that. This doesn’t necessarily mean he went full Jacob from Breaking Dawn, but it does mean he acknowledged there was a bond, and he wanted it.
When you get into the technicalities of the curse, it’s mentioned that their Zodiac spirits influence how they interact with Akito, and that going against her can cause physical and emotional pain. Yuki cries when meeting her, and it’s mentioned that that’s just the normal reaction for the Zodiacs.
It’s hard to say how much of their early interactions are influenced by the curse, but it’s obvious that Shigure has genuine fondness for her. She wasn’t always absolutely broken, as shown in Yuki’s backstory, and was a precocious child, one who sought affection openly.
Shigure has an indulgent personality, and is shown to love being adored. Guess who loves him! Akito! Guess who wants lots and lots of affection! Akito!
Tumblr media
Their personalities are very well matched as they get older: They’re both intelligent and coy. They both have fairly sharp tongues when needed, and have no qualms about doing whatever it takes to get what they want.
Shigure wants Akito to be independent from the curse. He’s made it clear to her he doesn’t want to be her father, he doesn’t want to be her friend, he wants to be her lover. Those are boundaries that Akito’s never been given before, and his frankness with her and his jealousy with Kureno is something she agonizes over, simply because she’s never been given any sort of serious interpersonal boundaries, or repercussions for her actions. He’s always kept himself separate from her, because of those boundaries, even when they were children.
That’s important. It opens the door to the idea that her actions have consequences, and is a persistent nagging in the back of her mind.
“Even though you hadn’t realized it, I was waiting for that day.” (ch 101)
For the bulk of the series, the only person who sees Akito as a person separate from the curse, and sees a future where she can grow is Akito. He has an extraordinary amount of patience for her, and forgives her for a lot.
There are only two incidents that Shigure cannot forgive: Her sleeping with Kureno, and at the very end of the series, I’m of the full opinion that if Akito had pushed Tohru off the cliff, Shigure would have been done with her. Look at that expression, that is the look of someone who is toeing the line of throwing away all his hopes and dreams. If she really had pushed Tohru, I just...... The series would have taken a much darker tone.
Tumblr media
OKAY that’s enough about our favorite terrible author! (Okay, an aside, Shigure, please share your work ethic, you goof off so much but you’ve published so many things…how…)
ONTO AKITO!
“I’ve  finally realized… she hated her own shallowness all this time, from the very start.” // “It’s frightening because you have no choices.” (ch 121)
A lot of people dislike Akito because she, for the bulk of the manga, is violent, manipulative and just downright unpleasant. And that’s fine, but it’s not the point of her arc or the themes of the manga.  (It is, however, the point of Rin’s: you don’t have to forgive everyone.)
She’s not the only violent person in the series. If we as readers can forgive Uo-chan and Kyoko, or even Hana-chan for her moment of violence, why can we not extend the same grace to Akito?
Violence is often shown as a knee-jerk reaction to fear and sadness: Kyoko, Uo, Hana, Kyo, Rin, and Akito all react violently to negative situations and feelings. Even Kisa reacts violently when she’s at her worst, biting both Haru and Tohru when she’s in her tiger form, which is shown to actually cause pain like a real tiger would. (It’s played for laughs, but has anyone been bitten for realsies by a house cat? That hurts! How much more would a house-cat sized tiger hurt!!!)
Out of all of them, Hanajima and Kisa are the only characters to show immediate remorse, because they have what the others don’t: A positive support system. Once positive role models and support systems are in place, all of the others begin to learn how to react differently and ease out of the knee-jerk reactions that were ingrained in them.
It’s made explicit in the manga that you have to be taught how to react positively, you have to learn and choose to be good, to be friendly, to love yourself outside of others’ perceptions of yourself. Look at Yuki’s arc. Look at Uo-chan’s. Kyoko’s.
Yuki sums it up nicely in the last chapter of the manga, where he tells Tohru that she taught the Zodiac how to become human. She allows them to grow into people who can make the choice to be loving, compassionate individuals.
Just because Akito doesn’t interact positively with Tohru for the bulk of the manga, it doesn’t make it any less true:
Akito is kept in a juvenile state of being: No one teaches her to suck it up, that the world exists outside of herself, that other people are people and not things. In fact, she’s actively encouraged to act the way she does. She’s incredibly broken, between the maids of the Sohma estate just… allowing her to do whatever the fuck she wants and her absolutely jacked up relationship with Ren and Akira. She has no moral compass at all. No one bothers to teach her that her actions have serious consequences.
She knows, in a roundabout way that hey, these people don’t like me. There’s a serious mental dissonance between what she latently knows—these are all people with no connection to her other than the bond of the curse. This is why Tohru is able to break through to her at the climax of the manga:
She knows she’s wrong, but no one has ever told her she’s wrong but understood why she’s doing it. Akito just didn’t have the words to explain herself. What do children do when they cannot communicate? They lash out. Kids will bite, scratch, yell, kick, fall to the floor and have screaming tantrums out of frustration. Eventually, most kids learn that there are other ways to express frustration, and move along. (Not all, though, but most.)
Akito was taught that this is acceptable, allowable, and is her right as god. She is actively broken and kept that way through the neglect of the Sohma family maids, Ren’s abuse, and how Akira framed her role in the Zodiac.
I can go on and on and on and on why the way Akito was treated for her role in the Zodiac by her parents and the rest of the Sohma estate was just awful. I hate it, it’s terrible, she never had a chance to learn and grow and be the genuinely thoughtful woman we know she grows into.
She doesn’t force her path of forgiveness onto others and is fully cognizant of what she did, the repercussions of her actions, and lives her entire life after the curse breaks trying to right what she did wrong.
“Even if she gets hurt, she says she deserves it. She tells me not to let it bother me, but… I’ve always, always loved her so much.” (Another, ch. 13)
Tohru opens the door for Akito. She extends her hand, offers her friendship despite having seen the absolute worst of Akito. She tells Akito that everyone is lonely, everyone wants bonds, and acknowledges Akito’s worst fears, that Akito herself is selfish and dirty for wanting something assured and unending because she, Tohru, herself is dirty and selfish. Tohru knows what Akito has done, knows she’s injured some of her beloved friends, had plans to lock up Kyo, hurt Hatori.
Tohru still forgives her. One of Tohru’s striking traits in the manga is that she is suffering, every day, she struggles with the grief of losing her mother and the fear of being alone in the world. Through nothing but her own empathy and realization that loneliness is universal, she’s able to forgive people. She forgives Akito and cares for her, and through Tohru, Akito is introduced to the realization that she’s been wrong and that maybe, she shouldn’t be forgiven.
Shigure also forgives her, and this is the crux of their ship.
To me, that itself is wildly important.
They’ve always circled around each other, and Shigure has always been waiting for Akito to be able to come to him again, in full control of her life and choices. He wants Akito the woman, not Akito the god.
He’s been waiting for the day Akito can meet him as an equal. Akito wants it too, and has wanted him to turn and see her for a very very long time. But she’s been terrified, the entire time, that when he does see her as herself, Shigure won’t like what he sees, and will leave. She’s aware of what she’s done post-curse, she’s aware of the impacts it will have on the former Zodiac members, and she’s aware that once the “bonds” of god and the animals is gone, there may not be anyone left for her.
Neither of them are under any illusions at the end of the series: Akito knows she has to atone for what she did, Shigure knows she has to learn to grow into a person who can function alone. They both know that there are people who are against them changing the oppressive structure of the Sohma family.
Neither of them care. There are things that they want, together, and it’s enough. There’s a whole new world for them to explore and learn about. And in Furubana, this is shown to be a lifelong effort on their parts:
“She said after meeting me, she learned so many things for the first time. She smiled happily as she said it.” (Another, #13)
To close, I’d like to take a moment to talk about the curse and Shigure, and how he set things in motion.
Without Shigure, the curse would have devolved on its own, yes, but the circumstances would not have allowed for the freedom the Zodiac had at the end of the manga. It would not have ended with Akito being able to learn and live freely. Allowing Tohru into the Sohma family cracked open a door to compassion and kindness none of them had ever experienced before, because the Sohma family seems to exist in a vacuum of stability and love.
It wasn’t that Shigure knew instantly that Tohru was kind and loving and thoughtful, if anything, his read on her was “completely normal, albeit strange, teenage girl who obviously has a rough life”. But she was normal, she was from outside the Sohmas, and he knew that was enough. No one in the family was stepping up to change the status quo and how stifling and abusive it was, so he did it himself.
He did it because he loved Akito.
Not because he felt bad for himself, or Hatori, or any of the others, but merely because he loved her to the point of manipulation. It backfired in his face, because he got a big ol’ dose of “loving and respecting” juice from Tohru, but he still got the end he wanted.
What I mean to say is best summarized in  chapter 123:
“It would be nice to live in a kind world, without any troubles, without any fear, without hurting anybody, without ever being hurt, only doing the right thing. I wish I could reach this kind world by the shortest path possible. … “That’s wrong”, or “that’s stupid”: If it’s someone else’s life it’s so easy to make such irresponsible comments. ...It would be great, but it doesn’t exist. … Little by little, walking one step at a time, is all you can do.”
We get to experience the roughest part of the path with Akito and Shigure, we got to watch them be terrible people who were lonely and in want of love struggle and learn how to get up and move on.
They tease each other, Shigure is thoughtful of the distinction between “the person Akito was raised to be” and “the person who Akito is”. He’s seen her at her messiest, and she’s seen him at his most jealous. They still chose each other, despite the hurt they caused each other, and others. They make up for it, reflect, and live a life that demonstrates that they have learned. They have friends who are thoughtful and loving and would not hesitate to drop everything and help them, lend an ear when they’re frustrated, help them not to make the same mistakes.
And then we get to see them be wonderful, kind, thoughtful, loving parents in Furubana.
We got to see their adorable, kind, compassionate child be friends with the children of the people Akito hurt, because everyone in the former Zodiac’s family collectively decided “never again, no”.
Their child adores them. Shiki in Furubana #13 radiates love for Akito and Shigure the same way Mutsuki and Hajime do.
Tumblr media
They are genuinely good parents, even when they tease Shiki, and I think that is testament for how good they are for each other and how much they’ve changed as adults.
I think that’s enough of a reason to ship them, don’t you?

OH MY GOD OH MY GOD IT HAS FINALLY HAPPENED... I WAS NOMINATED BY @transjohnnylawrence .......... Omg 😱 😭🤧😂
okay, so I’ve prepared a speech... or — well...
I’d like to thank my mom, my — what am I saying?
Thank you @transjohnnylawrence Ferris you rock man 💖🌻💖
Okay, let’s do this....
It’s the year 2021 and you’re obsessed with The Karate Kid. How are you feeling?:
Hell yeah! I love TKK, I’m feeling great about it, and I mean, I’ve met a lot of great people in the fandom and great friends <3 Cobra Kai is awesome too!
Did you grow up with TKK or are you new to the series?:
Lol, I guess I grew up with it? I saw TKK when I was six or seven years old and it’s a good memory because my dad was there from one of his excruciatingly long deployments and he had found it on television and he scooped me up and set me in his lap and we watched it together. Of course he fell asleep halfway through and the only reason he woke up was because I tried to do the flying kick that Bobby does to take out Danny’s knee, and I fell over and ended up busting my knee a little on the side of the coffee table, my dad woke up and ended up telling me off for hurting myself, but we sat down and watched the last minute, after he’d put a bandaid on my knee. My dad ended up getting it at the library a while later on VHS so I could see the beginning and ending because I had missed both, it’s kind of one of the best memories I have of my dad. After that, a lot of stuff happened in my life and I kinda forgot about it till I saw a trailer for Cobra Kai, and after that I rented the film from my local library, and watched it about five times... then on a different site I met @transjohnnylawrence and he asked me to a TKK watch party, which honestly was the best. ✨ I’ve met a lot of great people in this fandom and I am so happy that I found it again, because I’ve made some friends... <3 but I said that already :) ✨
We gotta do the basics. Favourite character:
TOMMY!!! lol... I don’t actually know... I love them all, but Bobby, Jimmy, Dutch, or Tommy for TKK, definitely Jessica is a top fave and I don’t mind Ali... my favorite character in Cobra Kai has to be either Robby or Amanda... or Moon or Demetri... but I really relate to Robby
Wax On, Wax Off or Sweep the Leg?:
I prefer neither. I guess I tend to go for the whole Mr. Miyagi speech about balance. That or ‘Get him a body bag, yeahhh,’ — Actually, I once changed the line just a little to use. I once flunked down into a chair at a cafeteria table, set my head down on the table, and stated ‘get me a body bag,’ and my friend looked at me and said ‘exams are going that bad huh?’ and I just nodded and proceeded to fall asleep on the table because I hadn’t had any sleep... also, I said ‘Get him a body bag’ once when my sister jokingly told me to sike our dad out when we were playing pool in teams... and I took it literally and my dad just looked very surprised and started laughing.... but yeah... what was the question? if i had to choose, it would be Sweep the Leg ... Or Wax on, Wax off, depending on my mood Which of Daniel’s dumb little outfits is your favourite?:
The silly little flannel with the camo pants... since I have worn something very similar and been teased for it... 😅😂 there’s so many that I liked though... I really dislike that he wears only suits now and they’re the stuffy kind...
Favourite ship:
Johnny/Jimmy, Dimmy (Dutch/Jimmy), I blame two fanfic writers for this one, but — Johnny/Bobby/Dutch... Also, Dutch/Tommy, Dutch/Jimmy/Tommy, Kumiko/Jessica/Ali, Bonny, Lucille/Miyagi and Johnny/Bobby/Tommy/Jimmy/Dutch, And Tommy/Ali... for CK, I’m big into Sam/Demetri, Robby/Moon, and Hawk and Demetri but as Binary Brothers ............. there’s too many
Underrated character:
JeSsIcA — yeah, definitely Jessica! And Tommy! And Jimmy! Dutch! And totally Bobby... but Jessica is definitely number One ☝️ in my underrated characters list...
Underrated ship (don’t say therapy, lol):
i like Jimmy/Dutch or Tommy/Ali but Kumiko/Jessica/Ali are top on my list... that and Bobby/Freddy (They’d look pretty cute together, I dunno 🤷🏼‍♀️) that and Thera— Tommy/Johnny ... for CK it’s definitely Sam/Aisha or Amanda/Johnny lol... joking with that one... Robby/Moon
Character from the films you most want to return, who’s not Terry Silver:
screw Terry Silver! NO SERIOUSLY SCREW HIM AND KREESE... I want to see Jessica and Dutch!!! and more of the Og Cobras 🐍 😩♥️ Maybe even Julie... but definitely Jessica and Dutch (Lol I feel strongly about this)
Scene that lives in your head rent-free:
the goodbye scene with Tommy in Take a Right... it just sticks with me even though it’s a sad scene... but just hearing them talk by the campfire and seeing Tommy giving Johnny advice and helping him... and also, just... yeah, that just 🥺... got stuck in my head... that or the scene with Robby where he finds his childhood artwork at his dad’s apartment, I get emotionally drawn in thinking about my own childhood, for TKK it was the scene where Bobby is disqualified and throws his belt down in front of Kreese and walks out... and seeing Johnny’s face in the background as Bobby took Daniel out, it just is another sad scene. Or the Halloween fight where Bobby tells Johnny to leave Daniel alone... also, the beach scene with Johnny and Bobby being real pals on their bikes, and Dutch’s yellow helmet rolling across the ground... the soccer tryouts... I love soccer. The learning how to take a fall part because I’ve had that happen (but the kid wasn’t on a motorbike, just a regular bike, and it wasn’t a steep hill, but I had another kid knock me off my bike like that :/ )
Will Anthony LaRusso ever be relevant?:
oh man, you know it, that kid is gonna be like the master of Karate or something... that kid’s got mad skills... ha! I dunno 🤷🏼‍♀️ he’s there as a foil or something... anyways, he absolutely annoys the heck out of me because he reminds me of a kid I babysat once... but yeah, they’ll probably make him more relevant...
You live in The Valley and are forced into the karate gang war. Which dojo do you join?:
Oh dang, yeah... ummmm, well... I think Bobby, Jimmy, and Tommy would be my friends... but I think I’d choose Miyagi Do in TKK and help Daniel, while also trying to talk some sense into my friends... in CK, I think I’d pick Miyagi Fang, but before that, I probably would have chosen Cobra Kai when Johnny was Sensei and probably would have jumped ship when Kreese came in. Or, option 3. Fake my death, change my name, and run... (bonus... if Johnny told me to flip the script, I’d give myself a badass name like Hornet, because you don’t really feel the sting till a few minutes later... but it’s bad... or I’d just join Miyagi Do)
It’s the crossover event of the century! Which TV show are you combining with Cobra Kai for an hour-long Saturday night special?:
Pfffffft, OTHERWORLD so that it would be like Jimmy got sucked into an alternate dimension and he’s lost with his family... no I’m not currently thinking of writing a Fanfiction about this... or am I? Hmmmmm...
