Mla0 - Shaun is there to pay off Micheal's hospital debts. Micheal is also there to pay off his hospital debts. They make it to the semi-final end together ❤️. The functionality of the second seasons voting and badges are in play; Shaun originally votes to leave, to get out, he doesn't want to put his life on the line , they'll find another way. Micheal begs him to stay. He admits he doesn't think he has any other way out other than winning or dying. They're both mad at each other for not fucking playing at different points in the story; They both nearly die and lose a friend; so by the last vote, Micheal votes to leave.

But Shaun votes to stay.

In my mind there's a marble game or something of the sort where they are pit against one another ; Micheal starts to give up. Shaun tricks him into living. "Thank you. For playing with me."

WF - Sean and Lee are childhood friends who reunite in the game. Sean keeps Lee alive, but his sweet act shatters when he votes to stay. Instead of having him as a guard or the frontman, he's just a fucking cheater. He has inside word on all the games. He sacrifices Mo to keep himself and Lee alive. Lee won't forgive him for that.

There's a beautiful moment - temporarily the idea is that Mingle is the game Mo dies in, because I imagine Sean smiling with his back to the door, staring at Lee, and just whispering; "I saved your life." As the gun shot go off behind him. He needed him. Lee's lost the plot. It's not about the money anymore. He needed to kill Sean.

SF and TT - Stan is a detective working on his own motions, looking for people he lost track of years ago, sneaking into the games as a guard. Connor and a man named Noah. Connor is the frontman. Noah is the founder of the games, the architect known as firebrand, and is currently participating in the games as an amnesiac 001.

Dh00 - Jesse, Chris, Alex, and Greg all team at the start. Jesse betrays them, votes to stay in the game, and someone else reveals he had a hand in Greg's death- Jesse is the first to learn that more deaths = more money. Jesse defects from the team, joining others who wanted to stay, and Heather joins the gang after saving Chris's life. She tells him she has a plan to get them out of here- she knows what the next game is. But he has to trust her. She has inside knowledge about what's going to happen when these lights go out.

EMH - "I'm a good person," Vinny assures, after nearly getting Shaun killed. "I'm a good person," he assures, in a shaking, weeping breath after Jeff's brother, Alex, dies. Evan asks, then why are you still playing? Why are you still playing? And Vinny says. Because we need to. Jeff doesn't make it. Evan fights tooth and nail during lights out. Vinny still votes to keep playing.

I Saw the TV Glow is such a uniquely, devastatingly queer story. Two queer kids trapped in suburbia. Both of them sensing something isn’t quite right with their lives. Both of them knowing that wrongness could kill them. One of them getting out, trying on new names, new places, new ways of being. Trying to claw her way to fully understanding herself, trying to grasp the true reality of her existence. Succeeding. Going back to help the other, to try so desperately to rescue an old friend, to show the path forward. Being called crazy. Because, to someone who hasn’t gotten out, even trying seems crazy. Feels crazy. Looks, on the surface, like dying.

And to have that other queer kid be so terrified of the internal revolution that is accepting himself that he inadvertently stays buried. Stays in a situation that will suffocate him. Choke the life out of him. Choke the joy out of him. Have him so terrified of possibly being crazy that he, instead, lives with a repression so extreme, it quite literally is killing him. And still, still, he apologizes for it. Apologizes over and over and over, to people who don’t see him. Who never have. Who never will. Because it’s better than being crazy. Because it’s safer than digging his way out. Killing the image everyone sees to rise again as something free and true and authentic. My god. My god, this movie. It shattered me.

@remedyturtles absolutely killing it with the latest chapters of their firefight fic. The last third of ch.37 was so fuckin eerie and tense and visually rich that I couldn't NOT make some art inspired by it. I've been hankering to draw something more experimental and dark lately, and this really scratched that itch!

Pictured: Loop being extremely normal as they lay in their shallow (homemade) grave as they meditate on existence and also if they have annoyed the Researcher enough THIS time for her to murder them and bury them alive.

(Spoilers - they did not annoy her even CLOSE to that much.)

And there is the required reverse image of Odile arriving - she's had a LONG day (i.e. previous loop), and due to this it will take ten minutes before she even acknowledges the shallow grave Loop is laying in, as she was distracted complaining about what Siffrin just did to annoy her.

I'd say there's context for all of that, because like...there IS context? Here's the link to the series of fics that HAS that context even! But also...even with context...can't say that it's going to make any of this less weird.

Mostly Odile is looping because due to Loop's wish the universe got rewritten to make Siffrin's repression and emotional issues (the ones bad enough to get him stuck in a time loop in the game) 'someone else's' problem...or at least that's Loop's best theory atm!

Regardless, context or not, I'm quite happy with how the pics came out, and figured I might as well post them here too.
