Dead Tired x Beetlejuice

Danny, after losing a bet to Tucker, auditioned at the local Gotham theatre for their musical.

Tim, after losing a bet with Jason, auditioned that same day,

They both forgot about it until call backs, where they were given the parts of Adam (Danny) and Barbara(Tim).

(Both Jason and Tucker regret their decision after they start dealing with their idiots whining about the cute scene partner they are developing a crush on.)

Bruce deeply thinkink about Thomas, then Tim walks in the room to ask Bruce something. And Tim has the same walking style that thomas had. Bruce is not looking at Tim, while Tim is explaining him his question but the sound of his steps are so similar to that of his father's.

That when Tim asks Bruce if he is listening Bruce unconsciously answers "yeah dad?" And he realizes he just called Tim, dad.

Hmm... Idk if Bruce would know what his dad's steps sounded like after at least two decades of not hearing 'em (closer to three). Therefore, let's add this element:

Bruce, as an adult, recently saw his dad [either through time travel or alternative universes]. He had been thinking about his parents, the time he did and didn't have with them, and the aspects of them he forgot. Thomas had changed, but the way he walked was so familiar. Bruce hadn't remembered and he hopes he'll never forget it.

Thus, deep in thought and desperately trying to cling to the memories of his father, he hears that same cadence enter his office. He instinctively calls out, "Yeah, dad?"

Those footsteps falter for a moment before an amused chuckle rings out.

Bruce startles when he hears the voice, a more baritone and coarse one. "You alright, Bruce?"

"I-" He pauses as his mind tries to grasp that he called Tim dad. He tries to wrap his mind around the fact that Thomas's footsteps sounded so familiar because they were Tim's. That the warmth they brought, the connection he had to Thomas was because of Tim. "Yeah. I'm alright."

"Good," Tim accepts. He proceeds to launch into why he came to Bruce's office.

He doesn't address Bruce calling him dad. He doesn't question it.

He just smiles a little brighter.

2:15 am and all I can think about is how bad I want more subnautica dead tired aus…

PLEASEEEEEE LIKE HOW COULD YOU GET ME HOOKED ON THIS??? AUUGGHHHHHH

I have NEVER played, watched, nor been spoiled a single thing about subnautica. The only stuff I know is that there’s water. Then, on one ordinary day, I come across a drawing. It’s Danny Phantom as a leviathan?? I think it’s a leviathan. It’s absolute fire. Bro cooked with gas. I’m intrigued.

I go looking further. They have a master post link at the top. I check it out. I binge it all.

“Wow” I think to myself. “Where can I get more of this?”.

I look high and low. I wait a couple days. Nothing. Silence. Horror dawns on me as I realize this has been abandoned.

(If I’m remembering right) Later I find another glimpse of subnautica. This was short and was mostly big leviathan Danny with Justus League there at the end. But still it’s gas. It’s flammable. My hair got torched into a bob.

This reignites the fires in my motivation to get kicking back on this subnautica adventure. I search again for more. I plead for dead tired. Wish for at least a glimpse of dp x dc. Nothing.

Me and my broken heart go to Ao3 because surely they will have some dead tired subnautica.

Boy oh boy.

They have 6 subnautica x dc x dp at first glance. None that sang to my heart though. Upon further investigation I found gold. A beautiful dead tired subnautica au ripe for the picking.

4 chapters of not exactly what I was looking for, but by god was it everything I needed. It was short, sweet, and left a 4,283 word hole in my heart.

I want more, I need more.

Anyway, so much good Dick & Tim banter and shenanigans in this, but I also love them checking in with each other after their most recent trials in NML

Dick's "Another inch and you'd be Robin the Disemboweled Wonder," Tim poking back at him for looking worse for wear, but also getting in some concern about Dick needing sleep to recover from his illness, while Tim...also needs more sleep to recover from his illness, lol. They really did the mirroring thing when it came to fallout from their Blackgate and sewer missions.
