I'm doing a new art challenge. It's 10 minutes, one layer, no undoing, no erasing. Naturally I decided to draw the crew from Till Dusk Do We Part Top to bottom we have: Former King Drenn Coronoctis, Former Queen Vesuvia Coronoctis, Drake Coronoctis, Princess Littna Coronoctis, Prince Wilfre Coronoctis, and Acting Queen Kage Coronoctis. Very fitting that the only people smiling are the hellions. They're all so tired.

Drenn Coronoctis, Former King of Penumbra

I finally sketched Drenn for the first time, so you know what that means. Buckle up. It's lore time. Ok so Till Dusk Do We Part is a family drama centered on the reigning family of Penumbra, which is like...a purgatory like plane of existence. This is the father of that family. He's a Denizen, the race of people that are tasked with upholding and protecting Penumbra, and not only that, but he's the king of Penumbra. Originally, he was a sturdy, stoic man who melted away to become a loving father and husband to his son, Wilfre, and his wife, Vesuvia. He grew up a noble baron to a land rich in precious metals (gold, silver, etc). Drenn was blessed with the ability to see the future, as well as similar timelines (although he frequently gets the two mixed up), and was raised to be an Oracle for the royal family. Drenn at this point already had raised a bastard son (who he loves dearly), and when he married into the royal family, he brought his son along and incorporated him into "royal affairs." Unfortunately shortly after he took the throne for himself, he began seeing visions of his own demise at the hands of his daughter. He saw his kingdom in ruins, his wife dead, and his castle completely destroyed. In his efforts to prevent this future, he became more and more tyrannical and cruel, resulting in the disfigurement of his wife and the estrangement of his son, who had joined the Penumbran equivalent of a militia. His daughter, Littna Coronoctis, was born amidst this madness. Once a loving and caring man, Drenn had become paranoid and brutish. His mistreatment and rampant abuse led to the creation of Kage Coronoctis, who eventually kills Drenn during a confrontation and takes the throne for herself.
