I don't think goyim properly understand the fear and change that the wave of antisemitism currently taking place in the wake of the October 7th massacre has induced in the Jewish community.

In a wide-lens view, Jews have become a 1000% more wary and introspective. But Israeli society is more unified than ever right now. The judicial reform laws were shelved shortly after the war began and the protests ended on October 8th. Some of it is the rally around the flag effect, yes, and will probably fade as time passes--politics never stops--but the era of Israelis being at one another's throats? Of forgetting that we are all one people and we are all under attack? Gone. It died on October 7th.

In the Diaspora, Jews are once again asking themselves the question--will I need to flee? Guys, a fifth of Gen Z--my generation, that I attend university with--believes the Holocaust was a myth. Two thirds of them think Jews are oppressors. That's terrifying. And the reason we don't take comfort in people saying, 'They're kids with no political power.' is that that won't be true forever. Today's slacktivists who casually say that Israel has no right to exist are tomorrows lawmakers. They will grow up and set policy.

We don't know if they'll grow out of it. I pray to HaShem that they will, but how do I know if they will?

And that's tomorrow's world. Today's world is already bad enough. I need a fem Steddie fic where Stevie is a singer. I know, I know, but it has to be Stevie. She is put in the industry by her parents who see her voice to be the only good thing she has going for her. It's either have her try to get famous or marry her off.

So, they get a friend to sign her on. They make the stereotypical pop music for a girl. Stevie sings whatever songs they hand her and she starts to gain a good following. But it's more men who leer at her.

A few years go by and she's tired of the act. So much so that she takes the invite one of the stagehands give her out of pity to a party. It's not the normal kind of party she goes to while on tour, instead it's more of a friend hang out. But Dustin was a sweet kid and Stevie needed to get away from her managers and parents for a night.

When she gets there, she immediately is drawn to the tall girl who greets Dustin by shaking him around. Stevie soon is introduced to Eddie, who looks her up and down like she just can't help it. But Stevie knew she shouldn't. She had an image to maintain and parents to please.

But after a little while and a few drinks, she's being pressed into the door being kissed within an inch of her life. She feels for the first time a connection and it's a night that's seared into her mind. A usurpingly sweet and tender moment of passion. But she wakes up to an empty bed without a note or number. So, she needs to move on. But she just can't.

Her life feels changed for the better and she begins to understand herself more from the spark she felt. But when she's handed her mic and expected to go on stage and sing about boys, she feels dread. The night is rough, but she makes it a point to give her fans a show. But the rest of the tour drags on worse than ever.

The moment it's done she gets a lawyer and ends the contract a few month earlier than it was supposed to expire. It's emotionally draining but she can't spend another moment on stage being someone she isn't.

She searches for another label to sign under, instead she finds a recently graduated music producer. Robin Buckley is awkward and has a degree in music and knows a few different instruments.

It's a chance meeting really. One that would never have happened if there hadn't been a fire in a mall. Stevie hadn't been prepared for it when she went in, but she still readily threw herself in protecting the girl when a piece of ceiling collapsed.

They ended up stuck in a room together, trying not to pass out from the smoke slowly filling the room. And told all their secrets like a final confession. Stevie told Robin about how there was a girl that stole her heart and she never let herself be... well her.

Robin admits to feeling like she was going to fail for picking a job she enjoyed instead of something to get money fast. Her parents showed her disappointment and she's worried about not making it.

So, there in the small bathroom, Stevie promised to take a chance and work with her. That when they got out, maybe they'd work together to produce music themselves. It's a moment of tears and promises, ones they both never think would come true, but then they're saved.

It's slow going, but soon the two of them are making music under a mix of their names. Sin. Of course, many people recognize the voice and face of Stevie, but it's a new start. And they are making a statement.

Stevie leans into her new identity at as a lesbian, something she hadn't told the public before. She writes music about a girl that took her breath away and how men never seemed to work for her. Robin of course, was there to push her and help her make each song better than before.

They make a full album and release it through their own little company, and they have a social media platform where they mess around to promote their songs. Stevie's image changes and she isn't hiding in the closet anymore with Robin being completely herself as well.

Their first song that blows up is from a small tik tok of Stevie in extravagant makeup and a magician's outfit, a sexy one of course. Singing, "She was a playboy, Brigitte Bardot. She showed me things, I didn't know. She did it right there, out on the deck. Put her canine teeth in the side of my neck."

But soon people were all over the album and the difference in Stevie Harrington's music and Sin's. Stevie went all out, and Robin was right there next to her, playing most of the instruments in the songs. They have to reach out though for other artists to join them on tour.

That's when a familiar stagehand reaches out with the number of the best guitarist he knows. She doesn't have any social media, and her last phone fell through a drain grate but "she's the absolute best! I promise you'd want to give her an audition!" Dustin had been so excited, and Stevie only had fond memories of the kid, so she agrees.

As Stevie and Robin take auditions, low and behold, Dustin walks into the room with Eddie right next to him. Stevie feels the air get sucked out of her lungs and she can't tear her eyes away.

The moment is broken but the stumble in Eddie's step and how her face goes bright red. Suddenly Dustin's dragging Eddie inside and Stevie doesn't care for a moment if Eddie's the worst guitarist in the world, she wants to hire her right then and there.

Robin can see her brain melting out of her ears and makes the decision to take Eddie to audition and give Stevie and Dustin a chance to catch up.

But soon enough Stevie's on stage kneeling next to a kneeling Eddie's on stage. Singing, It's hard when you're going through hell and you're hating yourself, I'm feeling myself. It's hard when you know that you're caught and you're getting pissed off, it's getting me off. It's hard, it's hard. Oh, God, oh, God, Oh, God." And grinning when Eddie's pupils blown wide as Stevie fakes an orgasm on stage, mid-song.

Been talking with @jedimasterbailey and @bluedeedeedoop about the sudden flip in Barriss's fan reception since the TOTE trailer:

Gotta love how there were so few true Barriss fans who were always willing to see the potential in her story vs the majority who literally could only see her as a terrorist and a traiter saying horrible shit like she's worse than Anakin who literally commited genocide and other crimes.

Basically she wasn't a character to them. Just the person who betrayed Ahsoka. They could only see how the plot used her. Meanwhile Barriss fans payed attention to things facial expression, vocal inflection, dialogue and kept up with any scrap of an update about her for 12 YEARS.

All the while the Barriss haters and dude bros leave the nastiest comments on our threads and any Youtube video, Tik Tok, you name it, wanting to make it clear they want Vader to brutally kill her or basically their want for yet another complex Star Wars lady character to meet a horrible end.

But ever since the Tales of the Empire trailer came out her reception has been overwhelmingly positive. Don't get me wrong, this makes me really very happy. It's amazing what a little attention can do to change the narrative. But at the same time the sudden flip is a bit jarring.

Like why did it have to take a trailer to be able to see what a wonderful character Barriss is? Like I'm sorry but it's not rocket science to be able to tell that there was more to her than The Clone Wars was willing to show. Animation is VERY intentional. They would not have animated her with saddened and guilty expressions during the entire Wrong Jedi Arc.

Nor would they have wrote and partially animated the deleted scene of Barriss HUGGING AND SAYING I'M SORRY TO AHSOKA BEFORE THE TRIAL. They would have done NONE of that if the intention was a cut and dry villain.

It does not take rocket science to realize that The Clone Wars could have made their half baked terrorist plot at least make the bit amount of sense instead of having to see Jar Jar have a sex life or build up to her choices instead of a wander droid arc in early season 5 that is the literal worst.

I am happy that finally they will address Barriss in a new show with beautiful new animation. Though I am still nervous for what fate they will have her meet. And I am happy for the new Barriss fans that will come out of this series.

Rodimus

Sunset is Rodimus' only kid, thank Primus.

More times than not, some bots think that they are spark brothers (Sunset looks a lot like Rodimus when he was Hot Rod) before they realize that Sunset is a Terraformer and say something about it (occasionally they just say "ah, it's one of those" and Rodimus takes it as an insult even if it wasn't)

He is also usually way more calm and just tries to go on with his life, ignoring what others say about him.

Rodimus is another story.

"Dad, let's just go-"

"Ah no, I have a few things to say, hey, you frag face!"

"Dad!"

Is usually Sunset who stops Rodimus, in the worse case escenario he will call Ultra Magnus (who is an enforcer), he won't call Megatron because it could get terrible worse (Rodimus, sometimes, gets the old bot on his side, no one knows HOW) and get from a little commentary to bloody hell.

If someone says something about you, then both are on fire (literally) and ready to start a physical fight.

Optimus

Codexia is an only child and she is an angel, she never gets in any fights, in fact, she tries to stop them with tender words and then hearing both parts involved to give a solution.

No one knows how she puts everything in order, but she does, something that she really needs when she takes the title of Prime even when there is no war.

"How did you get them to an agreement?"

"Natural talent?"

If someone says something about you, Codexia tries to be hard, but fails miserably because she cringes everytime someone says a bad word.

Optimus is the one that appears menacingly behind both you in a protective manner, no one can even utter a sound, because that's Optimus fragging Prime.

When she was only Codexia she tried to be as natural and neutral as she could, when she was called Eminence that was even harder since the Autobots badge was put on her, keeps trying to go on with her responsibilities without relaying on Optimus.

Prowl

Chainbreaker is an only child, but he isn't a saint, well, not entirely.

Your kid haven't done nothing wrong in your eyes, he is very disciplined and prefers to talk above starting a fight, even when it doesn't involve him, such a nice kid, that's how every adult bot see him.

In the other hand, Prowl is more than sure that CB has started way too many fights and even made some mild ones worse, but he never has complete evidence of it.

Prowl doesn't know if he must feel worried by this behavior or be pleased (maybe proud) about Chainbreaker's ability to keep a clean track.

CB really doesn't know, he does try to help calm the riot but he only gets it worse.

Truth is that he has Prowl's resting bitch face, something that he and some Praxians have to live with (Smokescreen tends to pat the young bot's shoulder armor in support and understanding).

Whirl

Whirl knows that Tik Tok is a sentient group of scraplets that can murder a cybertronian by eating it from inside out in mere seconds.

Does that make him stop the fights between his two girls? Absolutely no, he is in reality placing bets.

"You don't even have a necessity for it, just drink water or whatever!"

"But that was my sweet flavored energon cube!"

They get physical more times than not.

Cyclonus is the one that stops the fight, or you, or he helps you because Tik Tok and Whirl Jr. can get so mad to one another that more than once you were way to close to being stomped on.

Tailgate is crying in a corner saying that he couldn't live with himself if something ever happened to any of them, almost bawling when they are cat fighting in the floor, he is going to buy more energon snacks, so stop this madness!

Whirl called you all boring, but he is the first one to stop any fight if it really does get out of control.

Blurr

When some parents have two hormone drive teenagers with a short temperament and around the same age, it's normal an even healthy to let them fight and get to a mutual understanding by themselves.

That's a liberty that Blurr and you can't have.

Not when your first child is wild and way too ready to throw a punch or your youngest that can boil someone alive if he really is on the edge.

When Blurr's long time friends come to the bar and see that kind of display they would laugh while saying how it melts their spark that Ripley acts just like her mentor when he was young, Blurr can only damn his younger self internally.

You need to be there to stop any fight from going too far (your husband simping for you in the corner, quietly).

Blurr has lost way too many loved photos in every one of his kids fighting moments, you tell him that those are still saved in data, he says it's not the same.

Bumblebee

Rosalinde was already a young adult when Blood Horn was forged so they never had a real collision with one another.

It's difficult to be angry with the little femme when she is just so little, and the bright pink of her armor is way too eye catching, making BH quite (a lot) more adorable.

And a lot more easy as a target.

Yet again, Rosalinde has grown worried about Bumblebee, her adoptive father, for as long as she can remember.

And Blood Horn is even worse than Bee when getting in trouble.

"What were you thinking?! That femme was thrice your size!"

"It's fine, she felt my punch in her face plate!"

"But then she stomped all over you! You are covered in dents and your own energon..."

Rosalinde ends up crying more times than not for her little sister.

Bumblebee tries to tell her not to worry, he is going to see what he can do and also talk to BH, but he can only do so much with you already in tears, everyone using your baby as a ragdoll and she going around like it was normal!

Bee can only believe that there is something wrong with the pink color, some kind of bad vibes or something, Arcee likes BH color and tells her so everytime they cross paths.

Jazz

Having three kids is a wild road, one that Jazz takes while singing "Life is a hallway"

He let's them vent anything they want to say because he believes in the growth by experiences.

Pauline is quite the smart cookie, getting away with many discussions as the winner, he is also the oldest, Amber Dust is your little boy, even when he is as tall as a house, so he tends to go for you in hopes of get your help.

Mariah, since she is the family's bebe, tends to be a little shit.

"Why do you have my music in your room?"

"I just found it there, okay bro?"

"Don't lie, Mariah! You don't even need it!"

"Please stop fighting or I'll tell creator about it!"

Amber Dust tends to be ignored even when he tries to keep peace, typical middle child crisis.

You were currently seven months pregnant and currently leaning over the sink in order to do the dishes comfortably. Your back had been hurting worse than usual.

Little baby Morales was pushing against your spine, so here you are bent halfway over the sink, washing a pot you had used only hours earlier.

Frankie was currently out with the boys and wouldn't be home for another hour and you really wished the time would go by quicker so he could be home and rub the notes out of your shoulders and have a good cuddle with you as you both fall asleep in the bed.

You are lost in your own world, you don't even notice Frankie walk in through the front door. He's quiet, he lays his keys on the coffee table and takes his boots off. He watches you from the living room, his beautiful wife, the mother of his child. He can see the tension in your shoulders. He quickly makes his way to you.

“Hey carino,” he whispers into your ear, a hand goes to your hip and the other under your belly.

You moan out, the feeling of Frankie holding your belly feels like heaven.

“Baby, you're home early,” you begin to feel yourself relax.

“So I wasn't beautiful on our wedding day? ahem- so as I have mentioned, today is my 1 year old this platform! I honestly cant believe it’s been this..long? A lot has happened, too. And honestly for the longest time, it wasn’t going well. Like- at all.

I’m don’t want anyone to feel sorry for me. Im doing much better than before, so it’s really not a big deal anymore. I’m just giving some brief context for my 2023- early 2024 school year.

so, I made this blog a couple days before the whole situation went down. Which I think I briefly mentioned on here.

so for a bit, I had felt very uh- isolated in my friend group. I had kinda always been the odd one out. We had different interests. Their sort of fun was hangin’ out, gossiping and what not. And I was into cartoons, and art. I never really told them, though. There were sorta judgy, and I was very insecure. Because they make fun of people. And I didn’t wanna end up by myself.

But anyways- usually, they’d all leave. And tell me to watch their stuff. And since I’m sort of a pushover irl, I didn’t really argue about it. But when I say all of them leave-? I meant all of them. All 4 of em. And it often did upset me.

also they’d talk to people I didn’t even know- which, okay yeah- but I couldn’t talk to them. I didn’t wanna get dirty looks. I’m not a very outgoing person. I like to think I keep to myself often.

So, Halloween comes around. And this stuff doesn’t end. And for a bit more context, one of my friends was getting super annoying by me. And I’m pretty sure she didn’t like me, like- at all. She easily got annoyed at me. And only me.

so she went to the Halloween dance- last block of the day

blah blah skip to after school and I text the group- “where are u guys?” None of them respond. So I search a lil bit, then head outside. Where- guess what? All of them were.

I asked “Why didn’t you answer the text?”

and my friends that gets annoyed at my easily said a snarky “my phone was off.” And was generally just being fucking bitch. And I use to be a big crybaby and stuff- and eventually grew out of it. But this- this sentence really upset me. I stormed off, avoiding all of them.

eventually I got on my bus and- well. Uh. Let my feelings out, if you will. I remember it very cleary, too. It was one of the most tears I had shed in a long time.

I get home, and the girl texts the gc, clamming I stormed off for “no reason” and I had enough. Saying smth “I obviously didnt storm off for no fucking reason”

a bit more of arguing keeps going, and a lot more sobs. It was one of the worst days I had ever had.

a few more days go by, and the situation gets worse. I avoid all of them, and hung out w/ a diff friend. I ranted/vent to her, telling her my friend was a Hippocrate for complaining about our other friends leaving, even tho she did the EXACT same fucking thing.

Which, was talking shit. So that wasn’t great and rlly bad of me. And I guess karma hit hard bc she texted me after school, saying I was talking shit abt her. Bc my friend was friends with her friends. So..awkward..

and really- the next day, it was over. I was free. But at what cost, really? I lost all my friends. Became an outcast, really. It was pathetic, now that I think about it.

for the rest of the year, I rarely spoke to them. And never talked to the other girl.

I spent most my time in the library, reading. And skipping out on eating. I was so unhappy. I don’t wanna say depressed but- very close.

it really made me hate who I was. It made me feel like a terrible person.

And that’s when I really did start using Tumblr more. It was sort of an escape, of mine. And god, I’m so glad I set up and account. I Met do many amazing and unique people one here.

This is sort of corny but, I really think this has helped me through a lot. Since a few months early I lost my privileges to tik tok, and discord. Which, yeah. Sucked.

but so many things had happened-! Joined a rp group, met a new online friend (which we are now very very close<3), found out about a LOT of facts, found other people who shared my interests!

so here we are, one year later.

it was really something. I’ve met so many wonderful people on here, man. Especially my moots. You guys know who you are. I’m not gonna tag you guys, but I’ll do a quick smth smth ig

diluc is difficult to love because he will not love you; perhaps he cherishes you more than anything in his life, but he can not allow himself to keep you close. He will let you do as you please, so you may be happy, but he stays awake wondering what fate will befall you because you refuse to keep your distance from him. It hurts, watching your face fall when he ignores your anniversary despite memorizing the date as a core memory because he wants you to leave. He is too weak to do it himself, but he knows you will be safer when you finally learn to hate him.

KAEYA ALBERICH

Kaeya goes out of his way to make life difficult for you because he realizes that he cares for you too much. It is such a sudden change from the charismatic charming man you know to the borderline cruel person who actively seeks to ruin your life. Any affection you held for him burns down fast, while his remains the same. He wishes he could burn his own bridges as easily as he can burn yours. But he is terrified of the day where he will either have to make the choice himself or will have to see something through regardless of his own wishes. He doesn't know which is worse, but if it can not be painless for him, then at least he hopes he will lessen your burden by making you hate him. At least he won't be a traitor in your eyes, if you always see him this way.

ALBEDO ;; KREIDEPRINZ

It is never on purpose. It has always been like that. He is not human, even if he may sometimes wish he were. Time feels slower for him; while you wish to celebrate a one year anniversary, he doesn't understand. It is just one year. You are both so fundamentally different that he does not see what you see, he tries but he is so caught up in how own world, his own ambitions, that it is easy for him to forget how human you are. And when he realizes why so many things mattered to you that didn't matter to him were so important, you will already be gone, and he wonders if it would have been better to just be alone forever than to have his world ripped out of his hands too early.

You will never be his first priority, you are barely ever even his second priority. His devotion is to his family, his sister first and foremost. Then to his duty and the lives he is in charge of. It is never you, sometimes he even puts your life at the line even as it pains him. He knows where his loyalties must lie, and they can never be with you. He will watch the fear in your eyes, feel the way you shake and cry in his arms despite the both of you knowing he is at fault. He sees the life in your eyes die day by day and his heart breaks, wishing you would free yourself from this nightmare already.

WANDERER ;; SCARAMOUCHE

He wishes he were better, wishes he had the chance to meet you centuries down the line when he had grown and learnt. But he meets you at the start of his learning process, and it is painful. He spews the cruelest words he can manage, hitting each and every vulnerable part that you have shown him, willing or not. He apologies, he knows he is wrong so he does his best to apologize and make up for it, but he does it all again the next day. He knows it hurts; can not phantom why you stay with him when all he does is cause you misery. But you do, and he knows you will abandon him too, and he is too selfish to let you go himself.

dont get me wrong i am more excited for this atla remake and the inevitable renaissance part 2 than i have ever been for anything in my life. however im also terrified of what changes this is going to bring to the fandom. Obviously the 2020 renaissance brought a lot of new and good things (zukka, a ton of amazing fics, etc). But more people joining the fandom means new people joining ao3 and interacting with fics and authors and artists too. Even in the few years that i've been active in fandom i've noticed a dramatic shift in how people interact with artists and authors especially. And I can't see this not getting worse as more people whose main social media experiences include tik tok and instagram coming to ao3 and tumblr. Like these people are used to content creators who revolve their content around what their audience wants because its their job, and I know this isnt going to translate well to the culture around ao3 writers especially when unconsolidated comments and 'advise' is already a problem for a ton of authors. And for people who dont understand that fics and fanart are supposed be transactional in the sense that you need to leave comments and kudos and reblog stuff when they're used to simply liking something *maybe* being enough. Idk whats going on with other fandoms, but I do know that these things have been an ongoing issue for the atla fandom and like I said, I can't imagine having another 'renaissance' and this stuff not getting worse.

I just read your x reader post (and the anon response to it) and good Lord you are right. I read your whole rant and I felt it in my bones!!

I've been in this damn app for over 10 years, and written for almost as many fandoms, and I'll say that the x reader tag has NEVER been this bad. It's not just st, it's nearly all of the ones I've seen and it's just gone down hill. It's really so fucking sad.

I was huge in the SVU fandom, and there were So! Many! Writers! We all reblogged eachothers fics and not everything had to be about sex to get notes! We LOVED when reader kissed the character for the first time because we understood that it was the yearning, the 'Oh God finally I'm having you' and not all about just fucking! God now even the most hastly written, shitty smut gets thousands of notes just because it's smut. It's so fucking disheartening. I've written a few things for st (one of which is the piece I'm most proud of, ever) and it got like, 100 notes on here. That's it, but I swear some 'popular' writers get so much traction just because they write smut poorly.

And not to sound like a boomer (cause I'm not a SWEAR) but the tik tok-ification of fandom and fanfic is ruining it! The lack of reading comprehension, the fact that reader has to be as description-less as possible or else "its not realalistic, I'd never do that, etc etc" makes me wanna rip my skin off. Fanfic used to be an outlet for so many people but the way its treated now makes it near unbearable.

i’ve picked this fight before back when i was in the spidey fandom because of this EXACT reason — where i was like hey…… sometimes things that have more notes….. are worse - because people have this insane thing where they will judge a fic? based on? its notes? and its like buddy how do u think a fic gets ANY notes if you act like that. truly its the worst, writers that are already big just keep getting boosted (even if they just write characters nasty fucking which is! ur prerogative! but it shouldnt be SUCH a factor in being popular/getting your fics read)

i’m not pointing fingers but yes i know a couple blogs that get HYPED because they both A) write smut constantly and B) write fast. and isn’t that just such a kicker if you can’t and don’t want to do those things? like even though it means nothing, there is no correlation between writing slow = bad writing, this site reflects that SO much because they never give that shit the notes it deserves

tiktok-ification god ur so right. it’s the way the mindset has shifted from these being wips, writing, pieces that you develop into instead content. consumable content. there’s such a disconnect between people that read shit tons of fic and the realisation that it’s produced by a person. they just hit the like button and go on anon to ask for an update and it’s like buddy it can’t work that way! the same way u like to read fic, writers want validation and engagement and questions and motivation!!! talk about biting the hand that feeds you 😭
