I'm working on yet another post for the new chapter to try to explain my disappointment with the Todoroki plot with inter-media literary analysis now that the scans are out. So look forward to that if you want me complain with long-winded arguments and in-text citations.

Which is sad because I've been procrastinating a Jujutsu Kaisen post for like 2 weeks because complaining about MHA takes priority.

In other news, I'm very lame because I woke up extremely happy this morning because I finally got the new running shoes I ordered after wearing down my old ones completely which means I get to start running again. Exercise is my only other hobby besides this blog.

Summary: The job had been simple enough. Get inside Dabi's apartment and collect as much intel on him as possible. Risky and sudden, not to mention not how Hawks would've played his cards, but certainly doable. Good grief, that is just an awful thing to say to someone. I don’t know who these people are that keep sending all these negative messages, but they seriously need to stop. You are behind crossing a line here. And OP, I want you to know that despite the behavior of this one anon that’s apparently come here before? Idk if they’re a hero stan but they’re sure as hell not part of any hero stan community I’m from, they don’t represent the vast majority of us, we don’t think that + aren’t rlly active

So this anon regularly comes to "villain stan" blogs and does this, regurgitating whatever pseudo-intellectual concept they've learned in their psych 101 class that they can use for their arguments. Thyandra, Haleigh Sloth, Hamliet, HelgaGrin, and others have been on the receiving end of this idiocy.

The thing about it is I find it amusing. I'm truly more amused because it's a very ineffectual form of trying to get a rise out of me but often....fucks up because they doesn't know who I am. The anon either goes this route, or goes and says I'm a fake feminist (when I don't identify with feminism for various reasons), or goes and says we condone physical violence and crime (I'm an anarchist who's had a history of being active in far left extremist spaces IRL so I've spoken at length of accepting political violence as a tactic in response to state violence) or tells me I essentially would be abusive in any relationship and expect my partner to fix me (when I've been open about my BPD diagnosis on here since I got diagnosed when I was going through a lot of shit on here and my followers all saw my erratic and obsessive behavior especially towards my former best friend/fellow metaist).

I've been very transparent about who I am and my beliefs, so it's just funny how they don't realize their jibes are either wrong, or hitting stuff I know and no longer agonize over. I don't know how the other people here deal with it, but to me it's like, "Oh yeah, I'm that *that* and more." which is why it's amusing to me. It's cute.

I don't really think this anon is indicative of hero stans. Or the fandom at large. I think, at their core, they think they are trolling us successfully, and don't believe any of what they say. I assume it is a young person, early twenties, with lots of time on their hands, who is throwing shit at the wall hoping something sticks and really just wants attention and something to occupy their ennui. It's amateur fumbling.

anyway, i'm just going to say that the person that thyandra thought was vaguing and harassing her wasn't targeting her at all. it's a fact. i watched haleigh announce on discord she was going to write that post. the post was a reaction to the messages haleigh was receiving (and saw other blogs receive), and the stuff mentioned in the post was just the things haleigh constantly talks about in her blog about the villain standom in general, because there are many people with similar takes to thyandra's.

it's really unfortunate that thyandra interpreted haleigh's post as a direct attack on her, because even though haleigh and i might disagree with some of her opinions, we never intended to actually hurt her and never planned on doing so, and even more unfortunate that she decided to react to it like that without trying to confirm her suspicions or make contact with haleigh or me or julie first.

Last song listened to: Be my Everything (English Version). It’s a solo song from one of the members of a K-pop group named Purple Kiss, and it’s fantastic! Great vocals, even though I do prefer the other song from the single more.

Currently Watching: Nashville (2013) and the new season of The Dragon Prince. I only have one episode of Nashville left and it’s the finale, so that’s pretty sad. I’m three episodes into season 5 of Dragon Prince and really liking it! I’m glad the animation has improved since the beginning.

Currently Reading: Nothing now. I just finished Dear Mothman by Robin Gow and loved it though! It is written for young teens, but it’s a really great queer narrative and is written through some very nice free verse poetry.

Current Obession: It’s mainly Skyrim (liked it so much I made a Tumblr blog for it, after all), but since I talk a lot about that, I’ll also mention Hollow Knight. I’m playing it right now and it’s very hard, but very good! I like how little handholding it does.

Was what that other anon said so wrong? I mean I don't agree because Shoto and Dabi will have a relationship and I bet it'll be a close one. Shoto is also quite a forgiving person and, like he did with Rei, he will likely also understand Dabi and won't blame him anyway. I don't think the redemption journey will be easy though, this goes for all villains and not just Dabi. They will all be happy but not without their struggles either. It kind of pisses me off that we get to suffer through E's redemption while the more compelling redemption stories will get a chapter at most if we're lucky. I guess though the end result is all that matters but still can you image a proper redemption/healing arc for Dabi or Toga or Shigaraki?

Yes that’s wrong. That’s not his job. It’s their job to accept him back after realizing just how deep his pain was and how little he was helped. Not saying the siblings are responsible for that, but he certainly doesn’t owe them anything.

Now I never said their redemptions would be easy? I agree, it’ll be difficult. BUT-I doubt we’ll be shown that tbh. I’m still weary on how much aftermath we’ll be shown after they’re saved and AFO is defeated. At most I expect to just see an epilogue that shows that they’re all happy and healthy and living their lives. The journey to healing to get to that point probably won’t be shown.

I agree it’d be nice to have more chapters dedicated to the villains’ redemptions rather than E’s, but this is what we have. I’m not mad at it, I think the payoff in the end will have been worth the wait and the diskhorse. But I don’t entirely disagree with your take on that.

But that other anon? I don’t agree. Touya doesn’t need to redeem himself in the eyes of his family. They either love him unconditionally (which they do) or, as Thyandra said in this post here, if they don’t love him unconditionally then they just want to gain something from saving him to ease their own conscience. Which I don’t think is the case. I think they want him home with them.

The only thing Touya needs to redeem himself for is being a killer. Which—saving the world seems like a pretty good way to do that. For all the villains.

First meeting don’t always go smoothly. If pressed, Hawks would agree that the astronomy tower had been kinda cliche; even for them. The broomsticks and the nosebleed, though, were just overkill. But he'd panicked, okay? Panicking never led to smart thinking.

Overall, it's not a great recipe for friendship, Hawks thinks. It's a good thing he's nothing if not persistent.

since people are starting to spread false info about the chapter being wrongly translated, please fat-check before making any statement, it's disrespectful

I say it again - someone looked at the particular instance that was highlighted by Thyandra and concluded that Caleb's translation was too literal and missing an idiom. Instead of something like 'egotists' its more, 'doing as we please'. Oh, and associate Spinner was out of nowhere.

Yes, that's minor, but it... fits a pattern set? Plus, most of my issues has been, again with the lack of nuance in the past few chapters given to Dabi. As highlighted by Todomi and the few times Khattikeri has privately messaged me about the chapters.

Either way, I don't think you understand; for all my discussions about wanting more quality control in the translations my hesitancy is from pretty much not expecting any change. We're just fan blogs.

Additionally from a niche part of fandom that doesn't have the same amount of power like the twitter side has. Caleb has nothing to fear from our griping; he's a thirty something year old man with like seven years in this industry at least, accoladed and well-established. And we're just hobbyists.

I can be more careful in that future and wait for monday and chapter raws, but I really think your ire is misplaced here.
