I started this linocut in JUNE and failed a lot along the way, but finally it's done: Chimera Falin and Marcille from Dungeon Meshi <3

I was very stubborn in using three colours, so I had to design a puzzle system [here's a video of the puzzle] you guys on Tumblr are the only ones who get to see the digital sketch hehe :3

Marcilles just beautiful because shes just...both. She doesn't get watered down cause she doesnt have to be designated to Team Mom™, but Marcille also wants and does indeed get a good grade in Team Mom™ activities, she's just happily accepted Senshi is the purest embodiment of and the true officially designated Team Mom™, and happily learns the craft from thr best! And so she balances makes kitty out of Izutsumi's fur and learning home ec meals and soaps and projects and pondering dresses to beg Falin to wear with her daily studies in how to defy reality and collect life sentences ^^

Marcille is so funny to me. she's such a bait and switch. when we're first introduced to her you see this cute girl who's totally distraught at everything Laios does and you think she's gonna be the tropey token girl in the party who does the healing and stays out of the fights and has to be the designated Team Mom. but that's not Marcille at all. she's only on healing duty because Falin isn't around. she's a frontline attacker and she's constantly thinking about murder and explosions.

dungeon meshi really said "so there's this incredibly powerful black mage whose signature spell is "explode your skull" and she loves necromancy and is wanted in 5 countries. she can heal in a pinch but when she does it, it hurts, because there isn't a gentle bone in her body" and then she looks like this. i love her so much

I think this two forms are my favorite so far in the series. Falin is just a chicken... and Marcille is a fashion icon!! I do not know how to draw a lion nor a chicken tho so both was quite hard to draw...
