We ordered a planter and bench legs for the yard. It’s all stuff I combed the internet for and Murble financed. I’m going to try and build a trellis for the back of the planter. I don’t know if the bench top will be salvaged wood or fresh lumber yet. Im trying to rally the troops (mostly my dad, Murble, and maybe LittleUncleLost) for a mulching “party”. I don’t have money or a car so you might imagine it is difficult to get supplies and also get them to the Murbleage and it is also difficult to do the manual labor. Everything is difficult and the poison ivy is winning. I’m trying to get to a good yard pause point before my surgery September 4th and then, if I continue to live (odds are good), have a gathering in mid September (you my tumblroo babes are invited). That’s the plan. I also hope to get my master gardener hours in before surgery but I don’t know if that is possible.

Honestly tho it's the "I don't love you" and "every time I said it was just automatic impulse" that's got me the most messed up. Like u couldn't even let me down softly by saying it just wasn't working out? You had to essentially tell me the whole thing was a lie??? After I TOLD you I had trust issues and felt like everyone is just going to leave me in the end???

Fic Origin Story

What was your first fandom (reading and/or writing)?

There were a smattering of random fandoms I read fic for, but the first one I truly fell headfirst into and never resurfaced from was Schitt’s Creek

What was the first story you ever wrote (even if it was never posted) and what made you decide to write it?

The first fic I ever wrote was a co-written fic written straight into a group chat with a friend that will never see the light of day. It started as a joke and then somehow two weeks later we’d written 8k of fic into our group chat in bits and pieces.

What's a piece of advice you would give to your younger fic-writing self?

Well, my younger fic-writing self is not that much younger, cos I haven’t been doing this for all that long. But I’d tell myself never to say never (guess who once said things like “I don’t think I could ever write smut” and “I love RWRB but I don’t think I could get Alex and Henry right”?) and to give new things a go.

What's an early fandom interaction that stuck with you (be it a nice comment, a friend you made, a fic that got a lot of feedback etc.)?

Getting kudos/comments from writers I really admired meant SO much to me (still does!) but especially early on when I was new to writing fic. But the thing that’s stuck with me the most is the friends I’ve made - whether it’s because they’ve scooped me out of their comments or I’ve done the same to them, or because someone else has said ‘hey I found a friend for you - go read her fic’ and it turns out that person was absolutely correct and you do share a single braincell with that person, and then all of a sudden you’ve got a crew of people you love dearly who live in your phone who are all just as weird as you are about those fictional characters. It’s truly something special.

Post a sentence or two from one of your older fics, and a sentence or two from a newer one (if you want).

I regret suggesting this now lol.

From my first Schitt’s Creek fic:

 He should really tell them, he knew that. He wanted to tell them, just not over the phone. He couldn’t tell them now. What was there to say? Hi Mom, Dad, I’m gay and I ruined my first gay relationship and now my business partnership might fall apart and I might have to leave town again.

And from my most recently published Tarlos fic:

TK will never, ever get tired of being kissed by his husband. Carlos has always kissed him like kissing matters, like it’s not just something to do on the way to something more fun. There’s something about the way that Carlos’ fingers curl around the back of his head, the pressure of his palm on TK’s jaw and the sweet slide of their lips together that always sets something alight in TK; something warm and golden like the glow of the late afternoon light that spills through their bedroom windows.
