AAHHH, this is super late @thatsaysalotalotalot. Husband whisked me away from the weekend. Here is a little something I've been working on.

A Winter Wedding:

"Do you have any plans this evening?"

The rim of his wife's mug remained pressed against her bottom lip as she lifted her gaze to his side of the table. Gendry placed his fork down, then mentally cataloged his schedule. He shrugged and shook his head once. She tapped a finger on the side of her mug, took a drink, and cleared her throat. "You wanna go out tonight? With me?"

He wasn't sure if it was the timid tone or the fact he was being asked out. The longer he took to respond, the worse things would be. Gendry didn't want to fuck this up. His lips twitched as he scooped up more scrambled eggs for his plate. "Mrs. Waters, are you asking me out on a date?"

Arya huffed a laugh, then threw a piece of her biscuit at his face. He caught it and popped it in his mouth with a smirk. She stood and placed both plate and mug in the sink, rinsed them, and turned to leave. Gendry reached out and pulled her closer to his side. He saw a quip on the tip of her tongue, but she quickly sealed her lips as she noticed the lack of distance between them. Gendry had half a thought to tug her onto his lap. He had a lot of thoughts lately when it came to her…to them.

"What time?"

Skepticism was written on her face as she studied his features, and then her grey eyes landed on his lips. His heart skipped a beat and he couldn't stop thinking he liked her looking at him. "Seven," she whispered, still staring. "Wear something pretty."

His shoulders shook with laughter, enjoying the sight of her joining him. "I'll see what I can do, " Gendry accepted and kissed her knuckles as if that was the most natural thing to do. "As my lady commands," his thumb slid across her pulse, excited that her pulse raced.

Anyway I can say with certainty fall is here, and it is so nice! Mornings and nights are crisp, and daytime temps are actually comfortable, yay! 😁

So, last week went and saw Chevelle, and glad to see that they are still rocking hard after all these years. Been following them forever, so if you haven't heard of them, check them out, or send me a message and I'll tell you my favorites! 🤘

Saw another boat race (actually a drag race) and from what was explained to me, is more like a time keeping strategy. Still cool to see how fast those boats can go even if they go over or under their set time.

Watermelon Mint Frosé

Watermelon Mint Frosé

Serves: 8-10

Active: 20 minutes

Non-Active Time: 5 ½ hours

This summer, enjoy a twist on this classic: a refreshing watermelon and mint frosé, perfect for sipping poolside.

Ingredients:

1 bottle Rose'

¼ cup sugar

¼ cup water

5 mint leaves (plus a few extra for garnish)

5 cups watermelon purée (about ½ of a small, seedless watermelon)

Juice of 1 lime 

Instructions:

Pour rose' into ice cube trays, and freeze for 6 hours, or overnight.

Add sugar, water and mint to a small pot over low heat, and cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally just until the sugar is dissolved. Remove from the heat and let cool & steep for 30 minutes before removing the mint leaves. 

Combine watermelon, lime and simple syrup in a blender and puree until smooth. Pour into ice cube trays and freeze for 6 hours or overnight. 

Combine both rose' & watermelon ice cubes in a blender and puree until smooth & slushy. This will blend easier if the cubes are slightly thawed / runny. 

Garnish with a mint leaf and / or a slice of watermelon on the rim of each glass.

Test Kitchen Tip: For “fast freezing”, pour rose' & watermelon onto separate baking trays and set in the freezer for 3 hours.
