Either of those seemed like a lovely choice. Both sweet and cheerful. “Not sure they leave much room for experimentation, though.” If that was what Arthur was after perhaps some other, more creativity allowing items would be best. “I’ll be getting some of the cheering cherry tarts. Oh, what about sugared butterfly wings?” It seemed like an odd choice but she’d seen some in the window and felt far too curious to pass up on the chance. - @arthurxweasleyx

Arthur nodded. "Oh I know the feeling. Though it's been harder to keep a snack drawer with Molly and the kids around. We tried a shared one, but I've found it's better to pop down when I want a snack. Reduced the amount and I get some exercise, besides fewer snacks means you can get more creative without feeling guilty about it. Though usually getting creative just means piling everything together." Arthur thought what he could get. Which snacks would survive the transport home and still be tasty if they weren't so fresh. "I should probably get them something. Molly will be cross with me if I show up tasting like licorice, and didn't bring anything back for her, besides you would be surprised how long you can keep a child occupied by giving them a chocolate frog."

On an unrelated note, I take pride in having a diverse garden that ranges from your everyday flower to the most poisonous of them all. It’s nice to have a variety, for various reasons.

soft!merthur obsessed with each other and being completely, glaringly obvious about it. walking close enough for their fingers to be constantly brushing, talking with their other hand and refusing to break the touch. standing next to each other in a group, slowly shifting closer and closer until they’re pressed up against each other. despite there being other people, whenever they speak the other just has to respond leading them to turn to one another and have their own back and forth, their heads tilting closer and closer until their noses are just inches apart. merlin pretending to find issues with arthur’s clothes to fix that aren’t actually there just to touch him but arthur’s not gonna comment on that bc it means he gets to feel merlin’s touch. gazing at each other across the room, across the training field, across camp, etc and just watching them exist with the softest gaze and a small, tender smile. when the other feels their gaze they look up at them first and meet their eyes unflinchingly. them staring at each other for a moment before they resume what they should be doing (albeit slightly flustered). arthur finding any excuse to keep merlin in his chambers just a little while longer when he should be retiring for bed

Nearly everything about this ball thus far had gone exactly as Arthur had anticipated it would. Nearly. There was one particular aspect of it though, that actually managed to take him by surprise, and that was through what had began as a rather innocuous observation; a young woman who was standing off to the side, much the same as he himself was, and seemingly watching more than participating, again, rather like himself. Try as he might to put it out of his mind, Arthur couldn't stop his eyes from wandering in her direction again and again. This was, admittedly, in part because she was very pleasing to look upon, the sort of girl who undoubtedly would make him blush in closer proximity, but it was also because the sight of her stirred in him a sense of curiosity.

He must have stood in uncertainty and self-debate for the whole of an age, before, with a deep breath, he made his way across the room and approached, clearing his throat as he did so. "I...I do beg your pardon for the intrusion..." He began, and sure enough, he could already feel his cheeks beginning to heat up. "But I...I could not help but observe you playing the role of the observer tonight, and I...I suppose I simply wondered why that might be?" He knew he might be pushing the bounds of what was acceptable to ask, and yet he couldn't help it; his curiosity, and dare I say, fascination had been piqued and would not allow him to pretend it did not exist.

actually speaking of molly being cut from the gilded cage mission, I also think that would've been a perfect opportunity for a little side conflict with her and dutch as a potentially missable event that happens at the party. like maybe she's glad to finally be included in something and she's determined to make good on the opportunity by trying hard to dig for info, but dutch acts wholly unimpressed by her efforts and they argue, then for the rest of the night she just drinks and sulks. could've been another small indicator of how badly their relationship is going at that point. OR she tries to dig for info by flirting with a partygoer and dutch gets mad about it and she argues that he has some nerve to scold her for doing that when he barely behaves like a partner to her, then she storms away and ends up begrudgingly sitting beside lillian powell and getting drunk with her. idk, I just think it could've been a bit better/more interesting than just bill stumbling over high society conversation

In one of your recent Malevolent drawings you drew Arthur and John being tied by a thread around their necks and since everything in your designs has some sort of a meaning like John’s cracks, I was wondering what meaning that has?

Hehe I’m so glad you asked

So, you’ll notice that both the cracks and the threads only appear on John’s design after episode 26

I drew this quick guide after episode 28 so this was after we the audience learned about the existence of Kayne’s deal with John.

The idea is that initially, while Arthur and John were “bound” it was accidental, messy, not necessarily part of anyones plan. Since they were separated and now reunited, their bond has gotten stronger. Their relationship is no longer unintentional, they are tied together on purpose.

(Whether those wires appeared as a natural representation of their relationship when John came back, or someone else put them there to make sure they stay bound good and tight, well…John is definitely tied up in more ways then one now, isn’t he?)

(Another quick note because design is a constant process, initially I had the wires only around John’s neck, but I decided I didn’t like how that looked and it worked better with what I was trying to represent if they went around both, so if you see that in earlier artwork don’t think anything of it)
