Closed Starter (Stiles/Adelphia): The Date Night

Stiles double checks everything is perfect. He's not the best cook by any means, and about the only thing he can make really well is diner food. But he tries his best to do something fancy, and the results looked... Good. He thinks.

The table is set, the lighting is dim but not too dim. They should have the place to themselves tonight. It's going to be a good date. He smiles when he hears a knock on the door, heading over and opening it with anxious excitement. "Wow. Hi. I missed you."

"Happy Valentines Day Rose! I had some time to kill so I brought you these. I'm sorry I won't be able to spend the day with you, but I might be able to make it up to you later tonight. I have something planned for when I get off work. What do you say?"

Stiles is trying his very hardest to pay attention to the movie in front of them. It's their first official date night, and he wants to make a good impression. Not that he needs to, when Nova has seen probably most everything that's ever gone through his head at any given time. But he still wants to try.

He's decidedly not thinking about how much he wants to kiss her, or about how close they're sitting next to each other under this blanket. Nope, no, sir. He's focused on the movie, and nothing else. He blushes a bit redder every time he catches his mind wandering.

Deliciously remarkable dinner and a pleasant walk through the luscious green gardens at the local park, and yet nothing compared to the absolutely stellar of Dick Grayson's. Roy and Dick scarcely had the chance to have evenings like these all to themselves, especially with his princess Lian getting her fair share of Roy's attention, but finally being able to be out an about with his bluebird... It was an absolute treat, and Roy had a terrible sweet tooth. Their heated kiss finally broke, and Roy took a soft breath himself, forehead pressing against Dick's as he cackled to the sound of his question. "Why do you think I wanted to skip dessert?" He teased and keaned in to press another featherlight kiss to those addictive lips in spite of his breathless tone. "Had I not been a polite gentleman, I would have considered taking the main course right there and then." Crass, maybe, but it was intentionally exaggerated, and he knew Dick was aware he was just being blunt to make a point across. He pressed another firm kiss before inhaling sharply through nostrils and pulling back, flashing Dick a more tender smile. "You ok? I didn't hit your head too hard on the wall or something, yeah?"

Dick's cheeks, already faint pink, flushed darker at Roy's words, an eager light in his eyes. His hand tightened a little in Roy's hair, pulling his archer that much closer. Main course, was he…? "In public? Scandalous even for you, Roy," he teased back, knowing full well it had been exaggeration to begin with. Didn't make it any less fun to joke about. All just a part of the game.

He leaned eagerly into Roy's kiss, letting out a soft hum of pleasure before the hand in Roy's hair slid down to cup his cheek. "I'm fine," he assured the other, thumb brushing over Roy's cheekbone softly. "More than fine." Another kiss, then Dick leaned forward to nuzzle against Roy's ear, lips just brushing over it as he continued, "…now are we gonna stand here all night…?"

Well. He did his best. Fur shining like polished silver, wearing his dark blue dance dress. One of his favorite ones he'd competed inn and the only one that had been re tailored thus far...

His ears were already beet red as he waited quietly for his date to arrive. Damn. When was the last time he'd been on one of those?... Gordon waited in silence, other than the soft tapping of his boot on the carpeted floor of his personal library... What if he looked ridiculous? Highly plausible. What if they didn't show? No. No Qhi'zhek wouldn't do that to him... He wouldn't... What if the hired help fucked up the venue? What if the food was ruined? What if it was bad?

The rat was far up in his head with worry after worry as he tapped his shoe and fidgeted his gloved hands.

I have no idea, they work for me, but they don’t work for some people… you can try manually searching for the tags which title the arcs, and either scroll to the end and then read back up or tack on the chrono function yourself. It’s build into the links, which might be what doesn’t work for you. Recurring characters also have their own tags.

I’ll tag this post with all the arc tags, so you can click on them, as the search function is terrible.

Of course, a lot of the lore is actually on discord now!

Bio: Shortly after being born, his birth mother (surname Sweets) who worked as a psychic in a traveling show gave him up and he bounced from foster to foster until age 6. He never knew his birth father and does not establish any kind of relationship or connection with his birth mother as an adult. Prior to being adopted by the Finley family, Lance suffered abuse and neglect from other foster parents, in some cases, this resulted in scars that he bears to this day. The Finleys were on the older side when they adopted him, but they gave him a safe and welcoming space to grow and thrive in. Lance pushed himself through his studies and graduated with good marks and completed multiple degrees to earn his doctorate in his early 20s. Shortly before he was assigned to council Dr. Brennan and Agent Booth at the request of the FBI, his adoptive parents passed away. Initially dismissed by the pair as a nuisance, Lance remains patient in working through the pair’s differences per the requirement for the FBI and eventually takes an interest in their shared forensic cases. Over time, he is tapped to help with profiling and analyzing their suspects and evidence as the Jeffersonian team works to close and resolve cases with human remains.
