I'd be searching the thranto tag every evening before going to bed like a little restless child waiting for someone to read them a new interesting story. They're like the metaphorical milk and cookies for my mental health. The melatonin that calms down the nerves and sooths the mind into a good night's sleep.

Daughter of the Outcast: Chapter 1
Fandom: star wars
Characters:
Thrawn-Mitth'raw'nuruodo, Eli Vanto, Che'ri
Relationships: Thranto
Tags: Dad Thrawn, Dad Eli, a bit slice of live, Che'ri being Thrawns little angel on his shoulder
Fanfic: What if Che'ri accompanied Thrawn into exile?
"Basic"
"Sy Bisti"
"Cheunh"
Third eye
----------------oOo------------------
Che'ri vowed not to cry, not in front of the assembled Syndic, who were watching the trial like hungry vultures on a piece of meat, and especially not in front of the patriarchs of the nine ruling families, who would announce their verdict any second. No, she would not shed any tears. But she could not suppress the trembling of her body. From the fear she felt at the prospect of an uncertain future, from the grief of losing everything she had ever known and from the coldness of the handcuffs that held her small hands together, making it impossible for her to move. Thrawn stood next to her right, his face like stone, one hand bound with the same handcuffs as hers. He remained silent, not begging, not trying to squirm into excuses. Everything that needed to be said had already been said. Even at her young age, little Chiss understood that this court hearing was just for show, the decision had already been made long before they were arrested.
"Since the existence of the Ascendancy, we Chiss have defended our territories. Any attacks and blood spilled, we repaid with all our might until our enemies were destroyed. However, there has always been one rule that has always honored our people. The rule that sets us apart from the monsters that threaten us and our children. Never, under any circumstances, do we resort to preemptive strikes." "Merit Adoptive Mitth'raw'nuruodo and navigator Che'ri are banned from the Chiss Ascendancy for breaking the highest of our commandments, as well as aiding. Any unauthorized return to the territories of the Ascendancy will be considered an attack on our territories and punished with appropriate severity. The Syndicure has spoken and so it shall be done."
---------------oOo-------------------
It was the first time she had seen humans. They resembled the Chiss in many ways and yet they seem so different. The eyes so dull, the foreheads too small, the shoulders narrower, not to mention the pink skin. To Che'ri, they looked like aliens through and through. And yet there was one among them who immediately caught her eye.
He was probably the youngest of the men, at least in rank he was below all the others. His posture gave that away; she had often seen it in newcomers. Looking down and stiff body, older soldiers were usually a little more relaxed. He wasn't wearing one of those funny hats that almost completely obscured the view of the eyes and made Che'ri wonder how anyone could see anything at all with those things on their face. Che'ri could feel those dull human eyes straining to examine their camp, trying to put the pieces of the puzzle together while the others waited dully, doing nothing. That was the real reason he stood out, he wasn't just watching, he was seeing.
A blaster shot just inches past her head and drilled into the wood of the tree.
Che'ri cried out in shock. She immediately covered her mouth in the hope that she had not been heard, but she was not so lucky. One of the white soldiers pointed in her direction and fired. The blaster shot missed her by only a few centimetres. Che'ri slipped off the branch and fell to the ground. The impact was hard, but little Chiss quickly managed to pick herself up again and start running.
'Hide and stay down until I come for you,' Thrawn had said. Days in which they had studied the surroundings, in which they had prepared the scarecrow, set the traps. Days of planning and preparation, for nothing. Che'ri ran as fast as her feet could carry her, but a child remained a child, it wasn't long before the white soldiers had them cornered and surrounded, and not much longer before the green soldiers caught up.
---------oOo---------
"Captain Parck, she's a child." At first, Eli thought he was dreaming. All this trouble over a child, a girl no older than ten. She was dressed in animal skins and her hair looked a little wild, but that was probably due to her escape. Frightened, she looked back and forth on the verge of tears. The stormtroopers surrounded her, threatening her with their blasters. The moment she realized she was surrounded, she had given up trying to escape.
"If that was her doing, it doesn't matter what she is."
"Sir, with all due respect, you don't seriously believe that a child could manage to attack us undetected, set all those traps and pull a grown man out of a crashed V-wing?"
"Then she's not alone, but she knows something and I want to know what." As if on cue, one of the stormtroopers approached with his weapon drawn. "Well then little one, who or what are you?" There was no answer from the frightened girl. Of course she didn't. What did Parck expect from holding a blaster in front of a child's nose, except that she shut down completely. He felt sorry for the little girl.
"Please Captain, it doesn't have to be like this, I could try to talk to her."
"And why would she talk to you?
"Because I'm not some faceless monster pointing a gun at her." In one fell swoop, Eli turned white as a sheet. He hasn't really just put his captain in his place, hads he? He, a simple cadet from the wilds of space. Was he tired of living? Of course, once again his mouth had to be faster than his brain, but he couldn't just stand by and watch a child being shot. For a moment, Parck seemed impressed, his challenging gaze daring Eli to continue, if he dared, but the cadet suddenly lacked confidence "....And .... I don't think she speaks Basic. The Chiss-" Eli stammered.
"The what?"
"The Chiss, sir," he repeated. "In the myths of my homeland, it is said that they spoke with traveling Sy Bisti."
"Very well, try your luck, Cadet Vanto, but if she makes one false move, the stormtroopers have orders to fire."
"Thank you, sir." Her eyes shifted wildly between the different men, even as Eli knelt on the ground in front of her to be at eye level with her. She couldn't manage to focus on just him. She did indeed resemble the descriptions of the Chiss from the legends, the blue skin, the glowing red eyes, perhaps this too was a truth among many myths. "Do you speak Sy Bisti?" She fixed him with a glare, the others no longer seemed interested in her and yet she nodded shyly. So the legends were true after all "What is your name?"
"Che'ri." She spoke slowly, her words laden with a thick accent, but he understood her.
"Che'ri. A beautiful name. I am Eli Vanto. Why are you here, Che'ri?" She hesitated for a moment, unsure of what to say. Her eyes flickered past him for a brief moment, almost as if she was asking someone's permission, but there was no one behind Eli. Perhaps it was more a question of what she was allowed to say? Eli had to agree with the captain on this point, she was not alone on this planet.
"Pu-punishment."
"A punishment? For what?" She didn't answer and Eli sighed, "I can help you, but only if you tell me what's going on."
Parck paced up and down impatiently "So, what does she say?" He asked, annoyed.
"Not much. Just that she was punished, but not for what."
"I don't have time for this nonsense. We're getting off this rock."
"Sir, the camp, the unknown alien protocol demands-"
"We'll take the camp with us. I'm not going to endanger my people unnecessarily, not if there's an maniac of her kind running around out there." Parck leaned down a little towards the girl. "If she doesn't want to talk, she'll come with you. Does that satisfy your chivalry, Cadet Vanto?" Eli doesn't answer. One of the stormtroopers grabbed Che'ri, lifted her in probably the worst way Eli had ever seen someone lift a child and, with heavy protests, loaded her onto the Stikefast. The girl swung her fists around, kicking, crying and screaming, but the stormtrooper was unimpressed and Eli could do nothing but stand by and watch. As the last of the stormtroopers returned from scouting, Parck turned to him one last time. "Oh yes," it was a mocking tone that Eli didn't like at all, something like that always meant trouble. "Since you seem to be so fond of this little beast, you'll take care of her while she's on board."
Babysitter. Now Eli got to play babysitter too, this day really couldn't get any worse. And then for a Chiss he had thought only a few hours ago was nothing but legends. Was it really too much to ask to finish his training in peace? Apparently not. First this stupid field mission and now this. He only wanted to become supply officer, nothing more. It was enough that he was attracting the hatred of the crew because of this training trip, he didn't need another reason. A tug on his jacket brought Eli back to reality. Che'ri looked up at him in fear, as if she sensed what was going on inside the human. She had simply been dropped off in the hangar with him. Eli took a deep breath. What the hell was he thinking? He couldn't take his anger out on her, Che'ri was the least to blame of all of them, she was a victim of the situation, nothing more. The girl relaxed a little, her gaze lowered, and yet she didn't let go of his jacket. She seemed so lost. No wonder, first she was attacked by unknown soldiers and then kidnapped. But maybe there was something good about it, maybe the Empire could help her find her parents. Surely this punishment she had talked about was just a misunderstanding. Who would abandon a child on a deserted jungle planet?
The Empire would do that, that and probably much worse. Eli wasn't naive enough to justify the Empire's atrocities. It was a job, nothing more.
Eli shook off those thoughts and took Che'ri's hand in his. It was about time this child got some food, a warm shower and sleep, she would surely feel better after that.
------------oOo--------------
After she had finished showering, she immediately looked much more relaxed. Logically, there were no child-sized clothes on a Star Destroyer, so Eli had to improvise with the help of a uniform tunic and a belt. However, the result was impressive. Provided you were blind. In both eyes. Che'ri didn't seem particularly enthusiastic about her makeshift dress either. She eyed herself skeptically, but didn't complain. He then led her to the canteen, and once they had entered, everyone's eyes were on them and the whispering began. That alone was enough to make Che'ri hide behind his legs. This was already off to a good start. Calm on the outside, but not really feeling well himself on the inside, he took the little girl to an empty secluded table while he got them both something to eat, always making sure to keep an eye on them in case something happened.
"Hey Vanto." Eli was startled by the sudden salutation. It was Brick and Elena, two cadets who went to the academy with Eli. "Who's the girl, did they demote you to babysitter now?"
"Shut up, Brick."
"Wow, is that girl a Chiss? So they're real. Does she speak Basic?" Elena asked without taking her eyes off the little Chiss, which wasn't particularly surprising. Everyone who grew up on Lsatra knew the stories by heart, even if only a few actually believed them. Eli himself had always believed them; after all, there was a spark of truth in every lie. But actually having her in front of him seemed so surreal.
"No, just Sy Bisti." She sighed, a little disappointed. "Is it true that she killed soldiers?" came from Bick, and Eli couldn't help but look at him as if he'd asked if Corusant was something to eat.
"Look at her, she's what, ten years old?" how could anyone with a working brain believe she could kill someone?
"Yeah, but she's an alien, you can trust them."
A deep sigh was released "You should spend less time in the holonet and more time with people." That was the end of the conversation for Eli and he was glad when he could pick up their food and get away from them.
Throughout the meal, the little Chiss didn't say a word, answering questions only with a nod or a shake of her head, yet Eli noticed how she was furtively observing her entire surroundings. Being around so many strangers didn't seem to be new to her, and yet he could tell that something was bothering her. "Are you all right?" he asked cautiously, catching her attention again, which was currently focused everywhere but on her plate.
"Yeah, I've never been to a canteen before. It's kind of scary." she replied for the first time. It was only half the truth, but he left it at that. If he probed further, she would probably just shut down even more.
"We can leave if you want." he asked instead. Che'ri shook her head
"No, it's fine." she replied and continued to poke at her vegetables.
"You like the food?"
"It's ok."
"You're not exactly talkative, are you?" no answer "Can I ask you something anyway?" Again, she didn't move, which Eli took as a silent sign that she didn't mind. "Where are your parents?" Eli regretted the question the moment it left his lips as little Che'ri dropped her fork in shock. "Che'ri?" he tried to reach her, but the girl wouldn't budge. He was about to go over to her when she jumped up and ran out of the canteen without responding to his shouts and all eyes were on the cadet for the second time that day. Too perplexed to react, Eli looked after her. How could he have been so stupid?
Eli followed her, but when he was out of the canteen, he realized that she was no longer in sight. It had taken him less than 24 hours to lose her. He asked everyone he came across if they had seen the little alien, even though most of them only gave him a gruff 'no' or no answer at all. He wandered aimlessly for a good hour until he heard a quiet sob. He followed the sound to a droid camp. She was sitting there alone in the dark, crying barely audibly. You could tell how hard she was trying to hold back her tears when she realized he had come in, and even though he barely knew her, it somehow broke his heart to watch. Eli sat down on the floor with her "I'm sorry. But you can't just run away like that."
Che'ri didn't look at him. "I want to go home." she said, her voice ever so slightly raspy from crying. "I miss Thalias."
Thalias? Maybe her sister, Eli wanted to ask, but finally left it. It would probably only do more harm than good. "I'm sure the Empire will find a way to bring you home."
"You're lying." The accusation surprised Eli,
"Why do you think that?"
Che'ri cocked her head to the side, looking like she didn't quite know how she knew herself "You feel like it. All adults feel like this when they lie." she tried to explain. She found it hard to find the right words, or maybe she just didn't know the words in Sy Bisti.
"What do you mean by that?"
"Forget it."
"Che'ri-"
"I said forget it!"
Eli sighed again. It had been a long day for Che'ri, she'd been through a lot. Maybe she was just stressed and tired. That would probably be it. "You look pretty tired. How about we go to bed and I'm sure the world will look better tomorrow." He held out his hand to help her get up. At first she looked as if she wanted to object, but then something changed in her expression. Maybe it was tiredness, maybe it was the realization that she was alone, maybe it was the hope that he was right. Eli didn't know, but she agreed and grabbed his hand.
"Okay."
-------------oOo---------------------
Eli was glad when they reached the quarters. Due to a lack of options, she would be sleeping in his room. Fortunately, there were two beds, because he didn't think Che'ri would like sharing a bed with a stranger. She was already snuggled up in the blanket when he came out of the bathroom in his pyjamas. "You've hardly eaten anything. If you want, I can get you something quick."
"No, thanks."
"You sure?" He asked again.
"I don't need anything." With one movement, she pulled the blanket over her head and disappeared under the white sheets. Eli had to smile a little at that, it reminded him of himself when he was her age.
"If you say so. If you need anything, just wake me up, okay?" There was no reply, but Eli was sure she'd heard him. At the latest, when her stomach growled, she would come. He listened to her steady breaths for a while. She was sleeping peacefully. Basically, the Chiss weren't much different from humans, Eli thought to himself as he lay awake in bed for a good while longer. In the legends, they were always described as warriors, but Che'ri was a normal girl. She was no little murderess, he was sure of that. So despite everything, the question of who had killed the soldiers remained unanswered and Eli fervently hoped that he would never have to meet the creature that had done this.

please talk to me about that lil fic
so I'm writing a thranto fic about Thrawn and Eli adopting Thrawn's child clone, trying to parent it, and getting together in the process, and damn do I need to show someone the first chapter
(just in case, justifying the cloning bit with the help of The Mandalorian S2: Moff Gideon orders Pershing to clone some of the Empire's top officials who are considered dead, but cloning Thrawn does not go exactly as planned. It proves harder to alter the Chiss DNA to accelerate the clone's growth, so everyone just winds up with a tiny Thrawn)

Thrawn x Dr Lani Kordes continuation...
... but it will still take me a lot of time before the story will be ready for public viewing. I even rewrote the epilogue from the preceding multichapter in the timeline, as it wouldn't probably make sense to keep the characters at the same military rank for the past decade. I'm still doing my research on Ufsa'mak'ro (by that I mean reading tons of other people's fanfics to get some grasp about that dude) as he will also make an appearance, and we are to move to Naporar - and that's a territory I know nothing about, so maybe... bear with me. And more Eli Vanto... probably will get to past Thranto, but we will see. Grysk seasoning also added to this stew, simmering on a low fire. It's bound to be a long journey.
In the meantime, though, enjoy the snippet here.
“Is the baby his?” he gestured towards your belly.
“Yes.”
“And the other one? The one travelling with you?”
Your patience wore thin with that question implying so many scenarios. You replied in Basic, hissing in irritation, “If you insinuate that I’ve been randomly abducting children on my way here, you are gravely mistaken, Eli’van’to. Rishmu is my daughter – the one I gave birth to aboard the Chimaera, to be precise. A simple genetic test will surely prove that I’m saying the truth,” you paused to take a deep breath before adding “And she wasn’t born out of wedlock.”
“Supreme Admiral Ar’alani will not be pleased with that information,” he muttered after a moment, his Basic heavily accented after so many years spent in here. His expression shifted, but you couldn’t say for sure what it meant.
“You may remember that I’m not a people-pleaser, Senior Commander,” you concluded.
“Indeed not.”
… That seemed to happen millennia ago but could as well be less than a day. When the door opened next, it was not the familiar face of Vanto that stared you down like a nasty pest that suddenly occurred on the pristine-clean ship. These eyes were distinctly Chiss, two burning embers burying into your soul, willing you to stand up from the cot and pay your respect to their owner. But you couldn’t. Not right then. Panting shallowly, you were so desperately trying to will the life growing inside your womb not to kick you too harshly. But it knew its mother was stressed; and was restless like never before. Not even when you had been chased around the outpost over a month prior when you had tried to restock on some food, and the tradesmen hadn’t liked your offer in Imperial credits. You could only cast a glance towards the female in white uniform and her companion.
It had to be a pitiful sight – a heavily pregnant alien in the brig, almost unable to move on her own accord.
“You said that she wasn’t that far along,” the one in black uniform said in a hushed tone.
“I wasn’t informed about any details, Officer Chaf’eere’safis,” the other snapped.
“She shouldn’t be in a brig in the first place, it’s not good for the child,” the one called Chaf’eere’safis bit back, making her superior growl in warning. Apparently, her behaviour bordered on insubordination.
With a hiss, you wrestled your weight to a sitting position, unable to do much else, and watched them curiously. Your guess was that the commander was indeed Supreme Admiral Ar’alani that Thrawn had given you a detailed description of, although of course, his knowledge had been outdated by a decade.
“Senior Lieutenant Eli’van’to says you can understand Cheunh,” the younger one approached you warily, making slow steps, her eyes wide. Like if you would lash on her any second… She kept her hands visible to you, as if to placate you, before she kneeled in front of your hunched form.
You gave her a nod.
“I’m Chief Medical Officer Chaf’eere’safis. And this is Supreme Admiral Ar’alani,” she gestured towards the other person staying at the entrance.
“Where is my daughter?” you asked slowly. It was more of a whisper, and drained you of energy quickly. When was the last time you had eaten?

What are your thoughts on Thranto child fanfics? (Like any, bio or adopted)
Love them! I mean I love every kind of Thranto fic, but Thranto with kids just have some of the best fluff and angst (and sometimes spicy times 😏). In true Star Wars fashion I love it when people end up accidentally adopting kids but recently we have been blessed with some truly great Thranto bio kids fics and I have devoured them happily.
Thank you my anonymous friend, you’ve got me thinking me about Thrawn and Eli as dads and I just had to draw it.
#I was going to tag some fics but I was just listing everything on the parental thranto tag 😅#thranto#grand admiral thrawn#eli vanto#star wars fan art

I COULD call this chapter good at like 4K. Or I could push the hand of fate and have a random-ass Jango asked Mij how close they really came to losing Jaster and Mij gets to try and pussy-foot around trying to comfort a prickly 14 year old shithead Jango.
And potentially add another 2K onto this chapter because that's how I roll apparently.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I've also decided tomorrow I will go to the store, I will buy a bottle of wine and as an homage to Thrawn I will get tipsy and read all this Thranto fic I've been talking a big game about reading the past two days. It just feels right, yanno?
Except I'm not drinking red wine because fuck that sophisticated shit. I have terrible tastes, as I'm sure I've made abundantly clear so the only stuff I drink is like 12 dollars a bottle moscato. The sweeter, the better because I'm also a 12 year old child at heart and hate dry wine.. Or much of a wine-drinker in general.
I'm just trying to get the vibes right. And if I am SMART. I will actually do my taxes before I get buzzed on shitty wine. Honestly, shitty wine + thranto fic sounds like the perfect reward for me doing the adult thing and actually filing my taxes finally.
I might also go get a haircut off. Debating being a real shitbird of a child and swinging by my mother's house before I do it and be all "Get your last look at my hair cause I'm chopping it all off" Which tickles a part of me that lives for petty bullshit with my mother but also knows I shouldn't because one of us has to be a responsible adult and it sure as fuck ain't going to be her.
We shall see if wake up on the "I choose chaos" side of the bed or not.
Damn I just got the thought about whether or not my hair was long enough to donate and I don't think it's going to be. Not unless I'm gonna fucking buzz it off which...I'm not that brave. I'll talk to the stylist tomorrow and get their opinion on it. It seems almost a shame to let it go to waste, yanno? I just measured a strand from like the back of my head and it's around 14 inches. But I don't know how short that's going to translate to. I think it's going to be super close. I know some people will accept shorter than the standard 10-14 inches. I might need to investigate that further.
Not that locks of love is gonna want my heavily salt and pepper hair. LOL. I've been going gray since I was like 16 to be fair. I don't think I'll have the patience to grow it out again. Long hair is such a pain in the ass. And it's heavy and hot in Texas summers. Give me my short hair back, plz.
Depending on how the job hunt goes, maybe I will finally follow my crazy wild fantasy want of bleaching it completely and then coloring it a fun color and crazy color. I've always kinda wanted to try going blonde once in my life but that upkeep sounds like soooooo much work. For reference, my hair is naturally a pretty dark level 3/4 brown. So no blonde fantasies for me. And all the times I've highlighted my hair and gone crazy colors it's been such a pain.

ride or die ship: Kylux, Kalluzeb, Thranto, Spirit Assassin, Kanera, Obitine
Most annoying ship: Reylo, Rey x Finn, Rey x Poe, Obikin, Anakin x Asoka, Dinluke sorry guys
Second favorite ship: Stormpilot, Organasolo, Lando x Han, Barris x Asoka, Tech x Phee
favorite platonic relationship: Han and Luke but Skysolo hits sometimes so. Also Han and Lando
underrated ship: uhhh idk I like pretty main stream ones
overrated ship: DINLUKE AND REYLO (no hate to people that like them enjoy what you want)
Some thing I would change in canon: Kylo would be the MC of the sequels and not Rey. She doesn’t even have to exist honestly.
Something Canon did Right: CLONES (until they “killed” tech)
a thing i'm proud of creating for the fandom: My OCs and my memes :)
a character who is perfect to me: Tech
A character I relate to the most and why: Luke Skywalker because yes
Character I hate the most, why:
If you are a Rey fan seriously don’t read I don’t want to bash a character you enjoy.
Okay with that said. She is a marry sue. Living her entire life on Jakku she just sudenly knows how to fly the falcon like a pro? After just learning she had the force she’s already doing mind tricks? She also never looses a single fight. She doesn’t have any flaw aside from like idk caring to much about who her parents are????? She’s just a girl bc Disney wanted to be politically correct. She’s another example of a powerful female character made powerful by masculine traits which bothers me. She is the main character yet still feels the most one dimensional. Even Rose has more personality. She did absolelty nothing to earn the title of Jedi or skywalker. And ig not rly her fault but she’s the reason Kylo is dead 🥲🥲🥲🥲. Also she has a yellow lightsaber yellow is for temple guards, unless it’s an artificial saber but those sabers are associated with the darkside. I literally hate everything about her probably more than I should but you know.
Something the fandom has taught you: Hux has a cat named Millicent. Not a loth cat. Just a cat
three tags I seek out on AO3: …. Kylux that’s all I got for you guys
a song i strongly associate with my otp/ favourite character:
Never Going Back, Stronger, Only one- The Score; Mr. Independent- Grant Knoche; for Han. Enemy- Imagine Dragons; for Child Han. True Love- P!nk; for Organa Solo. Young Blood, Teeth- 5 seconds of Summer; Kylux. (Working on a Kylux playlist)
@theosb0rnway @xentari94 @sunshinechildskywalker @diabollicallyangelic
@silly-little-goober-core @tomatette @dragonflies-draw-flame @ravenwing0110
Star Wars Tag Game~
I was tagged by @starrrgazingbunny so thank you~
1.ride or die ship (your otp): Codywan
2. most annoying ship: Reylo
3. second favourite ship: Stormpilot~
4. favourite platonic relationship: Fives and Echo
5. underrated ship: obirex <- agreed
6. overrated ship: Imao reylo <- also agreed
7. one thing i would change in canon: Padme. I would make her story more about her and less about Anakin. (girl wanted the Jedi D, gotta respect that. But seriously, you don’t need to marry a guy to get the D)
8. something canon did right: The Clones. No I will not be taking any criticism on this
9. a thing i’m proud of creating for the fandom
PLEASE BRAG ABOUT YOURSELF I WANT TO SEE/READ YOUR ART: Uhhh…I like my Coruscant is Hell stuff?
10. a character who is perfect to me (wouldn’t change a thing): Cody. Or maybe Rex?
11. the character i relate to the most and why: Cody. I too am an overworked older sibling who has to work to keep their younger siblings alive, and worries about them constantly.
12. character(-s i hate the most and why: Palpatine - abusive asshole. And also Vader - whiny pissbaby.
13. something i’ve learned from the fandom: The majority of people are kind, but the ones that aren’t are really fucking toxic.
14. three tags i seek out on a03: Time travel, Fix-it, and Qui-Gon’s A+ Parenting
15. a song i strongly associate with my otp/ favourite character: Born of the Lion - by JT Music/Rachel Hardy for Fox. (Yes, it’s a Witcher song. No I don’t care.)
Hm…I’m not gonna tag anyone (I worry about being annoying T-T). So anyone who wants to can do this!

Anyway, AU where Thrawn finds recently orphaned kid Luke on Tatooine and adopts him.
“My parents,” Eli said flatly, “are going to disinherit me.”
The few calls he shared with them nowadays were dreadful and Eli took every chance to escape those calls. Things had been tense enough since he had admitted that he didn’t just mind working under Thrawn, he enjoyed it at times. What were they going to say when he mentioned that he had gotten married to said man so he could adopt the orphaned son of a Jedi? Eli imagined there would be a lot of screaming that ended with him and Thrawn imprisoned while little Luke Skywalker would be dragged into the belly of the Imperial beast and disappear.
No, he’d have to lie to them.
The worst part was that they likely would be more understanding as to why he had thrown away his entire plans for the future if he actually were in love with Thrawn. It certainly made more sense than his, in their eyes, misplaced loyalty.
It would still end with him being disinherited, but at least Luke would be fine. Eli shouldn’t be so attached to the boy already, but it was hard not to when he was so small and had suffered so much already.
“I take it they will not be happy with the sudden presence of a grandchild?” Thrawn said.
Eli didn’t understand what the point of that statement was. Thrawn was well-aware how strained Eli’s relationship to his parents had become. They had never spoken about it, but the Chiss was certainly perceptive enough to have caught onto it.
“They will not.”
“Pity,” Thrawn said, his eyes never leaving the form of the sleeping boy in front of them. “I had hoped they might be of use in raising him.”
Eli stared at him.
“I have never raised a child, have you? And gifted as he might be, he is no Jedi.”
Eli imagined hearing a ‘yet’ attached to that statement. He didn’t want to know why exactly Thrawn had decided to take in the child of a Jedi, but given that the boy now had Eli’s family name and Eli was one of his adoptive parents, he figured he had to learn.
It occurred to him then that he might be the only reasonable influence Luke would get over the next decade until he was an adult and his own person. Eli was responsible for this child’s well-being and emotional development.
“Children,” Eli said slowly. “Are not chess pieces.”
Thrawn turns his head only so slightly that he was able to study Eli, but didn’t reply before looking at Luke again.
Eli kind of wanted to scream, but given that his new son was sleeping, he settled on getting himself some caf.

fic: strength of heart (tenderness of the soul), thranto, E, WIP
Word count: 179,243 words so far (5000-word chapters are posted twice a week, 37 chapters overall)
Warnings: canon-typical violence, angst with a happy ending, mpreg, Thrawn dealing with his traumatic past
Excerpt:
A few minutes later, as Thrawn walks into his room, he stills. Never in his life has he been so sharply aware of the fact he may be seeing this house—and everyone who lives here, all the people who have become his family—for the last time. Death is always a possibility, especially in his line of work. He is, first and foremost, expendable. If he is to give his life, he will plan it in such a way that it wins a little time for those staying in the Ascendancy to protect themselves.
Only he doesn’t want to.
Instead of giving up his life, he would like to stay on Naporar, renovate certain parts of the house, expand his new art collection, add more ships to the Stybla fleet, raise Rikeil, Riste, Riat, and Larass to be brave, decent, curious, and hard-working people, show them the world or at least the Ascendancy worlds they have never seen, show them the planet he grew up on, wake up by Eli’s side every morning, have another child with Eli—the list is extensive.
When he thinks about those things, he realizes that they only make what he is fighting for even clearer.
He casts a glance at the small wooden cabinet by the window and opens its top shelf. Looks at its contents. The artifacts of all the lives he has managed to live and abandon. An old Imperial rank plaque. A ring with an engraving of entangled snakes. The same snakes he ordered engraved on the Chimaera’s hull. The first piece of art he was ever given, by an alien and a comrade-in-arms, a token of gratitude from the Paccian people. Thrawn never believed he deserved it. The Paccosh did far more in their own defense and the defense of Sunrise than he did. But he did allow himself to hold onto that memory.
Holding onto certain memories—of friendship, of camaraderie, of love—is beneficial. As well as holding onto certain hopes.
In the meantime, an idea comes into Thrawn’s head.
He traces the engraving on the ring with his finger.
Perhaps some things do not have to stay memories, old and distant.
Perhaps accidental allies can unite for more than one battle, even if decades have passed.

Days of Thranto Past Appreciation Post Day 17
Rather than writing new this Thrantovember, I am featuring the works of others that I love. Most of these are probably well known already, but it's always someone's first time seeing a fic! Rules were: 1. Story must be completed, and 2. Thranto must be the primary focus of the story. I'm featuring 3 a day (because I couldn't cut the list down) at random - I'd love to hear your thoughts on the selections (and please give the authors some love, too!)
Today's featured stories:
Through the Years by aroyalmess
“I simply don’t wish to see you get hurt. Especially if I am able to do anything about it.”
At his words, Eli stopped what he was doing. His eyes lifted to meet Thrawn’s once again, his gaze lingering this time. “I can handle myself, Thrawn. You don’t need to worry about me.”
Thrawn thought for a moment, those red eyes locked on Eli’s. “I have no doubt that you can handle yourself, but I would rather you didn’t need to. The risk is not worth it.”
Something sparked behind Eli’s eyes. “Have you ever considered that I don’t want anything happening to you, either?”
This fic is sweet, funny, absolutely heartbreaking, and then heartwarming in turns. It's going to be one of those that wrecks me on every reread, I just know it.
--
Aliens Didn't Make Them Do It by @draculard
“And how are we to prove our respect for your customs?” asked Thrawn, barely glancing at the Nozama.
“It’s simple,” said the Nozama. He clasped his hands in front of his belt, resembling for a moment the thoughtful-looking monks Eli had seen on Lysatra as a child. “We ask only one thing,” the Nozama said. He took a deep breath, a serene expression on his face. “Don’t fuck.”
Eli’s breath caught in his throat. Beside him, he felt Thrawn go still.
“Excuse me?” Thrawn said.
The Nozama’s face was placid. “Don’t fuck,” he repeated.
The best crackfic; it's hilarious and I love everything about it. A perfect chaser for all the heartbreaking angst I usually go for.
--
Light in the Woods by MortisBane
A few more pulls and the door was half covered already, when something caught Eli’s eye. A light at the far edge of his vision, drawing his attention towards it quickly. And when his head turned, he froze. The same burning feeling of being watched from earlier returned, when off in the woods, at the edge of the clearing Eli saw them. A pair of glowing red eyes, pierced from the tree line. Trained directly on him, locked with his own eyes.
An AU longfic of Eli and Thrawn meeting and their time spent together. This story is a sweet and charming plot-heavy read; some aspects of this story definitely inspired the framework for one of my own fics, so I'm very grateful to it aside from just enjoying it on its own.

Star Wars Characters at Disney World
Clone Wars Era Friends
Anakin and Padmé bring their kids to Disney world on a family vacation. Padmé is the type of mom that has their days planned out perfectly and Anakin just goes along with it. He does almost get into a few fights with people who cut in line but Padmé is able to calm him down.
Assuming this is a situation where the characters were plucked out of their own alternate reality and put into an alternate reality of ours, They have to keep him as far away from the Star Wars parts as possible or else he would pick fights with Kylo Ren and Darth Vader. Because him and his family turn to the Darkside? That’s crazy why would these people accuse him of that? (No that doesn’t make sense, but it’s funny.)
Luke and Leia probably argue on where they want to go and what they want to do. Luke is more interested in meeting characters where is Leia is more interested in riding rides but Padmé works it out for the both of them.
Anakin and Padmé definitely wear those matching bride and groom Mickey and Minnie ears at some point cause that’s adorable and of course they would.
Of course, I have not yet mentioned that Ahsoka, Rex, Cody, and Obi-Wan joined them on this trip. For the most part they’re in their own little group because big groups tend to make things more complicated. Sometimes they hand the kids off to each other.
Ahsoka wants to ride the biggest rides there are and Rex goes with her even though there are different things he’d like to do. It’s more about spending time with family to him.
Obi-Wan would have a lot of fun at the epcot wine and food festival. Makes sense, considering he’s had to deal with Anakin for half his life. Cody is just there to supervise him and everyone else.
Anakin and Ahsoka do join up one day to be absolute nightmares together. They don’t get kicked out of the park, but that’s not to say they didn’t come close.
BobaVader
(Set in an alternate universe from the first one lol)
Vader and Boba go together to get away. Darth Vader of course is unable to wear anything other than his suit. So through Disney World you see this big cyborg with a breathing problem wearing Ahsoka themed Minnie Mouse ears holding hands with a fairly normal, but also weirdly familiar looking guy. They are of course accompanied by two stormtroopers.
Vader just wants to ride the dumbos and the haunted mansion. Boba Fett wants to ride space mountain until he passes out. They work it out.
Vader also really really enjoys talking to the princesses. They’re just so nice and non-judgmental. Like he knows that’s their job, but it’s a breath of fresh air.
They have a good time, Boba has the foresight to keep a Vader as far away from it’s a small world as possible
Thranto
(this one could be set in either of the above universe is and it’s funny either way.)
Thrawn is the most annoying person at Disney World. He walks through the entire park, goes through every single one of the cues for every single one of the rides and character meet and greets and shows. And the entire time he’s there just looks at tiny details and evaluates the art. He also has very in-depth lectures or discussions that keep the cast members, both character actors and otherwise, very confused. There comes a point where Eli is genuinely starting to worry that Thrawn is preparing a preemptive strike against Disney.
“Oh don’t worry Eli I’m simply interested in all of the little details that go into making this “the most magical place on Earth” as they say.”
“Normally when you care about small details like that it means that you’re going to declare war against them.”
“Nonsense, why would I declare war against Disney World?”
“WHY WOULD YOU BE HAPPY WHEN SMALL WORLD BREAKS DOWN WITH YOU ON IT?!?!”
Oh yeah, about that. When they were on it’s a small world it broke down. And Thrawn enjoyed that like a crazy person. Eli was trying very hard to ram his head into Thrawn’s shoulder the entire time.
But for the most part it was pretty fun. Thrawn had the best time at galaxy’s edge. After all, he had been to black spire outpost before and the detail that they put into the park made it look exactly like the real thing. It was just like being back there without the hostility. And he tried to have a deep and intellectual conversation with Kylo Ren but quickly realized that that wasn’t going to work out. (Actually truth be told I’m pretty sure he freaked out the cast member because he figured out personal details about him that he shouldn’t have been able to figure out)
Depending on the universe, either Anakin or Vader is there at the same time. If it’s a Anakin, they stop and talk for a while and grab lunch together. If it’s Vader they pretend they do not see.
DinLuke and Family
(Set in an entirely different universe.)
Luke has Disney bounds and bucket hats galore. The entire family does actually because he got them all matching bucket hats. Han pouts about that. Ben looses his.
Grogu is very spoiled. He has his little ears sticking out the sides of the hat. He gets snacks all over the parks. And just imagine with me for a second him in a stroller. And if he’s not in the stroller he’s chasing the ducks around. The Princesses adore him so much, who wouldn’t. They are essentially that little picture perfect family going to Disney World.
And then there’s Han, Chewie, Leia, and Ben. Leia is also very organized but Han and Chewie sneak away from her several times, sometimes they bring the kid, sometimes they don’t. Sometimes they bring the kid and then pass him off to Din and Luke. When that happens, Luke calls Leia immediately to make sure she knows where her child is.
Leia, when not stressed out about her unruly child and Ben, has diplomatic conversations with the princesses.
Ben has fun no matter who he’s with. He loves the Pirates of the Caribbean and Jungle cruise. He was very upset to find out that he was too short to ride Space Mountain. But he was able to ride mission space and soarin’, those are fun. When he and Grogu are together they terrorize all those who come in contact with them.
