I was going through my old fics and ungifting them from someone I wish I never even met and I really do hate that she decided to integrate herself into my life SO HARD that two years after she decided to end our friendship over fucking text while informing me she didn't even like me the last 3 years she knew me I'm STILL prying her out of my life like a disgusting sticky thread that forcibly embedded itself there just to be a reminder of how much that person meant to me and how little I ultimately meant to her.

Anyway I like to hope two years later she's doing the same thing, except when she finds the sticky remains of me in her life she's at least got the benefit of knowing she chose that fate- I wasn't so lucky, and she wasn't the one who found out the last several years of that friendship was a sham either. Like yeah upon reflection Sarah reminded me more and more of her mother in A Bad Way and ultimately was loud and annoying and maybe not someone I liked all that much either, but I at least looked past that on account of I assumed she actually gave a shit about me 🙄. Will probably get Starbucks to sooth my Sad Feelings.

Canonically, Mac calls romanced f!sole stuff like "beautiful" or "knockout", the latter of which makes Georgia blush from hairline to chest. She gets flustered by stuff like that easier than she'd admit and Mac works over time trying to find more ways to get her like that lmao.

👪 - What’s their relationship with their parents like?

Before the bombs dropped, Georgia had a pretty good relationship with her parents! Her father, Arlen, was an investor and her mother, Camila, was an Avon saleswoman. Her mother was a bit of a helicopter parent, but most of it came from genuine concern about the world her daughter was growing up in (a trait Georgia later develops after Shaun's born, and even more so when she gets him back as a 10 year old synth boy later on). Her father wasn't always home, but she was a bit of a daddy's girl despite it. She spent a lot of time with him whenever he was home.

When she moved off to Boston for school, they were very worried, but her father specifically had to be talked into being okay with her leaving because that's his baby girl !! Her mother only got worried when Georgia announced she was engaged after only a few months and more than once tried to talk her out of such a fast marriage but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ what can ya do

Balancing the God’s witty quips during banter with Owen Wilson’s Mobius alongside more emotional moments filled with suppressed tears opposite Sophia Di Martino’s Sylvie, Hiddleston manages to entertain and stir up heartbreak in viewers. I brought up the Harkles at dinner with my girls.... So once a month, I have dinner with 2 of my life long grade school pals. Well last nights dinner was a little interesting 🤣I made the mistake of bringing up the harkles as part of something we were discussing. Of course as a sinner, I have strong opinions about these two as well. Well my girlfriends JUMPED on me saying , they love harry, they seem like such wonderful, free couple now that they are no longer royals.they were exiled by the queen, how could she do that to her grandson 🙄.I in turn started to point out some of their stunts, as my voice grows louder , cause I'm freakin (🤣) that my 2 life long friends tried defending them to me. Yeah, I had to tone myself down and changed the subject. I get daily PTSD from those 2 cause we had a meaghan in our family and literally broke our family in 2. Does this ever happen to ya'll? This will likely be my last post about the remake, but since it came out today and I was actually able to skim through a playthrough, I'll give my final thoughts.

First, the bad stuff, besides the millions of things I already mentioned in my previous post about the remake and why I hate it...

They call THAT an extended prolouge? There was like, 2 minutes worth of new content, they really played it out like it was going to be actually extended and fleshed out, showing Hannah and Beth as actual individual characters and not just "Josh's sisters" and show the roles they played in the friend group. This so-called extended prolouge did NONE of that. A couple of cute pics in a camera roll does NOT cut it. I thought we were gonna see the pre-party, I thought Hannah and Beth would have new lines, I thought it would be the length of a full chapter. You know, I thought it would do everything they said it was going to do, but go figure, they lied about that too...

Why did they make Jessica's breasts so big??? Nevermind, I know exactly why. Because Jess is supposed to have a great body and the assholes who made this don't think women can be attractive if they don't have giant boobs. That's absolutely disgusting, ESPECIALLY because she was quite literally modeled/mocapped after Meaghan Martin so they're literally insulting her body saying she wasn't attractive enough. What a dick move.

The music is a little off. Some say it's just for the streamer mode like how they have in The Quarry, so I guess I'll refrain from total judgment on that one.

I really don't like how they changed the character's traits. It seems like something simple and stupid to complain about, but the traits actually helped me understand the characters more, especially the ones without a lot of screentime/playtime. It's a change I'm not sure why they made, honestly.

Bro, did they leave an old picture of Hannah in there? At like, her most prominent scene in the entire game? I'm pretty damn sure the picture it shows of her/her tattoo after Josh recognizes her as a Wendigo is from the original. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but the picture didn't look updated. This isn't like, something I'm passionately furious about, it just adds to their incompetence.

I can't believe they changed Ashley getting Chris killed, as I expected based off the new trophy. Just leave the characters' negative traits in. Honestly, Ashley getting him killed as so much more to her character that a lot of people don't appreciate or understand. Which is obviously why they changed it but damn, I really wish they didn't cave in to all the negative feedback. It doesn't even really add up anymore, there wasn't even a flashback to Chris shooting her so you're kind of left wondering why she hesitated at all in this version. Like, she still cares about him all the same based on her reaction after he dies, so what the hell even just happened? They made it really sloppy and hard to understand. Everybody just wants Ashley to be a simple good girl because they hate complex female characters, but it was so much better that she actually was multi-dimensional. (And this is coming from a huge Chrashley shipper, btw, so I prefer the option where he doesn't shoot Ashley, but the alternate version helps showcase other sides to her very well.)

Some stuff I'm neutral about would be... some changes to the dialogue that doesn't really make a difference. The character's pictures in the Dr. Hill book are different but they had to do that because of the changes to the character designs/graphics. Shaking the snowglobe was cute, was it a reference to Rush of Blood actually?? Not sure how to feel about the new Wendigo sounds, they're less threatening but a little more human so it evens out. Also I liked the idea of the Hunger Totems but I couldn't find them all, I only saw three which all seemed pretty repetitive but I won't judge because I haven't seen them all.

Now to the very minimal good stuff...

I stand by my initial praise of the game, which I'm now mostly embarrassed to remember I once praised this disaster of a remake, but the graphics are absolutely gorgeous. That's undeniable, I don't care what anybody says. You know, that's why I wanted a remaster so bad, but instead I got a shitty remake...

Hannah reacting to the prank was actually pretty good. I liked the slow-motion zoom-ins of everybody before she runs off.

I'm happy they included the DLC scene with Matt and Emily. If this remake can do one good thing in its life, maybe it'll show people more sides to Matt and Em who couldn't see that content originally.

The pictures in the camera were cute. I'm particularly glad it showed Ashley and Matt hanging out because I thought they were supposed to be friends but they don't have a lot of screentime together regardless.

I don't know why but I really liked Emily playing the little instrument thingy. It was cute, lol.

Fuck it. Don't really have much more to say that I didn't already in my last post and I don't think I even have it in me to keep talking about this. Since day one it seemed like they just caved into every nonsensical complaint the fanbase had and just turned it into a complete mess due to pressure and incompetence.

And for context, before anybody talks shit, I watched the prolouge in full and then skimmed through the rest (that I didn't already see beforehand). As toxic as the Supermassive Games fanbase already is, I'm not surprised at all that the remaster defenders are extremely nasty and toxic already. Don't get me wrong, the haters in the beginning who hated it before there was anything more than an announcement were just as bad (and even some modern now haters too), but now there's actual reasonable criticism to be had and not a whole lot of reasons to like it. And this post isn't trying to force anybody to dislike or boycott the remake or whatever, you can have whichever opinion you want to have. But I personally need to vent about this. And maybe it can also shed some light on the changes in the remake for other people too. I'm just really sad because the graphics are beautiful and you can play it on different systems now, literally EXACTLY what I've wanted for years now, but they just ruined so many other things about it so I can't properly enjoy it... Maybe it'll grow on me or maybe I'll be such a slut for the good graphics, I'll give it a try, but for now, I'm just a real sad girl.

Yapper anon is BACK Who all do you think will/won't return for the remaster? Meghan Martin we know is returning because of her post on Insta (Cant wait for more Jess. She deserved more screen time). Brett Dalton got a lot of screen time as Mike, so I can see him coming back if they are rewriting storylines that involve him OR if he says yes (He is a whole dad so idk). Galadriel Stineman is pretty much confirmed imo because she posted about it and talks about UD frequently. Noah Fleiss doesn't act anymore but I heard he may be coming back for the remaster! Jordan Fisher, I'm unsure about and from what I know he has a whole family now and is mainly acting on Broadway so if he has free-time I could see him maybe returning, especially since Emily's actress probably is according to what Ballisitc Moon posted. Ella Lentini also posted about it so I see her returning due to the lack of Hannah/Beth we get. Hayden Panettiere I could see coming back for voicing lines or if they change scenes. As for Rami Malek, I see a lot of ppl on reddit saying they don't believe he will return because of his status as an actor. Though I am keeping my hopes low I don't think Rami wouldn't return for that reason. He has talked a lot about how he tries to stay humble and how he is grateful for all the opportunities that led him to where he is today. I don't think he would mind doing at least voice lines.

I basically just agree with everything you’ve talked about. These are the things I’ve thought about too.

Yup, Meaghan Martin is confirmed, which is great! If they have new stuff for Ashley, then Galadriel Stineman is definitely back. She loved being in Until Dawn. She’s mentioned really wanting to be in the film and shared/spoke about the remake trailer. And I agree that I think Ella Lentini is very likely. Those are the people I see still talking about being in it and commenting on what’s happening in the community.

Brett Dalton, Jordan Fisher, Nichole Sakura, and Hayden Panettiere seem of about medium likeliness to me. I don’t know of any specific indication that they would be against it, so we’ll just have to see there. Lol, Jordan Fisher is such a nerd. He posts stuff about anime and games and D&D in his story all the time. I get the vibe that he’d enjoy coming back. But who knows about his performance schedule? (Though whatever they do need to record from him is probably brief!)

Noah Fleiss is pretty inactive. To my knowledge, he hasn’t been in anything since 2018 and may just be happy doing whatever he’s doing and being with his family. But there’s also currently no public statement about him being against more acting or that he wouldn’t do it! There was also a clip briefly up on Ballistic Moon’s instagram that showed mocap actors who looked like him and Nichole Sakura (I had to do a double take, but I’m not actually sure that it was). So that’s cool!

Rami Malek…. Everyone is so interested in him! 😂 it is wild how much he’s done in the years since Until Dawn. Winning an Oscar is pretty impressive, and he’s been in more Oscar awarded movies since (I’m still cackling about them introducing a ‘Dr. Hill’ in Oppenheimer, and Rami Malek of all people standing up). I really don’t know though! I do think he seems maybe less likely than the others, but I also am not in the “no way, no how” camp.

I can’t wait to see!

My review for Meaghan Spooner's Hunted which gave me a headache to get all my thoughts down in a few reasonably sized paragraphs, but I have to post it because I put a lot of time into it-

First of all if a story brought any entertainment to my day, it gets 5 stars no questions, that being said, I really enjoyed it! It has a really interestingly dichotomy that it tends to touch on even within the narrative by giving examples like the duality between beast and man in one body, fairytale and reality in one world, this last one really being emphasized in the end. Its's an attempt to ground readers in real people with real feelings and thoughts while indulging in the fairytale archetypes of the characters they are based on. I think all these themes hooking into one another are excellent to the books credit. My one quibble which is more of just a personal thing is that at first when the characters were just people, their own individuals, I thought that if the beast had attempted to use the mind games of 'I'll make you want to kill me by saying i killed your father and threatening your family so you'll stay and help me' would have ABSOLUTELY driven any other character that was not Beauty to hate him more than ever, but that's also the weird magic of this book. It feels like 'doomed by the narrative', but instead, it's 'destined by the narrative'. Was it a long shot the narrative did exactly what it did? Sort of- But as a reader much like the 'music' pulling characters to each other and other magical things, it makes perfect sense why out of all the characters in the books universe, these two managed to come together as they did.

I will add that I don't think this needed to be a beauty and the beast retelling, that it could have picked any fairytale where a character wanted against all odds, but I dont think it hurt the story to choose the fairytale that it did. I like characters to be more character than archetype, which is essentially what this story delivered though it skated the line near the end especially where it tipped into the fairytale narrative more than it did in the beginning, but this matched the feel of the story. Overall, it played well with the dichotomy between beauty and beast and made new themes rather than sticking to the old ones related to physical appearence of the original tale.

For the most part their victories do not feel easily won, and taking on the almost philosophical dip into the unchecked want (leaning into greed) of humanity and its search for fulfillment by placing vaguely historical characters inside their fairytale counterparts feels very familiar, similar to the characters in c.s. Lewis's 'until we have faces' where the author attempts a glance at religion and god through the greek myth of eros and psyche, another beauty and the beast adjacent story of all things!

I feel the story's main themes are perfectly encaptured by Flannery O'Connor's quote "picture me, with my ground teeth, stalking joy- fully armed too for its a dangerous quest". The violent nature of 'stalking with ground teeth' much like the hunter Beauty or her beast, alongside their inner desires, their dangerous quest of always searching for what will fulfill them- bring them joy
