2. Chasing That Feeling -- TXT

I didn't know I needed their angsty pop-rock vocals on a synthpop song, but I totally did! And the PRODUCTION. Look, I'm completely sold on this one.

3. Wilson (Expensive Mistakes) -- Fall Out Boy

*jumps around the room* WE HAVE ANOTHER ONE FOR MIRROR KARAOKE, Y'ALL

4. Pumped Up Kicks -- Foster The People

Look, I don't know how this became my comfort song this month--well, that's a lie. That weird horn instrumental from the verses in "Chasing That Feeling" is my favorite part of the song, and it also happens to remind me of the instrumental in THIS song, so I listened to both of those songs WAYYY too much this month.

5. Underwater -- Red Velvet

SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

6. Chill Kill -- Red Velvet

I like this one against my will! (I'm still not totally sold on the chorus, but I keep listening to it anyway.) I hope this ages as well as "Feel My Rhythm" did last year, because I took a while with that one, too.

7. 1985 -- Hotel Apache

We love #stim songs!!

8. Drama -- Aespa

This chorus is the vocal stim of the year! Well, there is XG's "everything I do, I do it A-1 flaw-less"... I'll call it a tie!

9. Super -- Seventeen

I talked about this in September, and I'm still obsessed! The producers make SUCH good use of that opening instrumental throughout the song--it’s captivating!

10. Abittipsy -- Youha

A slightly-older angsty synth masterpiece to pair with "Chasing That Feeling" !!

11. Whistle Like That -- Cherry Bullet

Yeah, I'm totally here for Cherry Bullet's weird, plastic-y pop sound. I'm kind of obsessed with how obnoxiously artificial their music is, and I'm glad they're still out here making songs I can't really justify liking (and adore anyway)!!

12. Colorful -- TripleS

I've been pretty indifferent to tripleS, since they're The NFT Group and I don't really want to care about The NFT Group... but luckily, I haven't heard about the NFT thing at all in the year since their debut! That makes it easier to just appreciate their music, and this one really is gorgeous--it has a great buildup, and the high notes are SO pretty.

13. Closer -- The Chainsmokers, Halsey

I blame Todd in the Shadows. But I do LOVE Halsey on this.

14. Yolo -- Aespa

This one is… too perfect for me to really like? I don't know, I feel like I've been weirdly indifferent to songs I think are beautiful this month! This one's great, and I'm sure I've listened to it a lot. I'm not sure I like it, though--it's probably just my mood right now.

15. Standing Next to You -- Jung Kook

The BTS solos have brought SUCH a flair for the dramatic to kpop lately, and I'm so happy about it. (Just don't ask me about the album.)

I will die on this hill.#I have been *waiting* for the day to finally arrive when I could finally make this comic. It's been marinating for months.#My mission is to redraw all of qour's character designs one day. They are just *that* good.#CSSR has the vibes of a wandering menace who shows up in towns like a stray cat arriving at a new doorstep for treats. 10/10.#While YZY strongly leads us to believe that JFM was in love with CSSR and that's his whole motivation behind taking wwx in-#-I do think this is (once again) rumour being presented as reality. It's the juicer story to tell after all.#It is still possible that he did love her! But I think that story undercuts the relationship he also had with WCZ.#Yall ever think about how JC and WWX parallel their fathers? How Wei Changze also left the Jiang Leader's side? I do.#Unlike JC though It is far more hilarious and plausible to imagine JFM begging to be CSSR and WCZ's third. You know he would.#My wild headcanon is that JFM and YZY are in a mlm and wlw arranged marriage situation. Deeply unhappy as partners. Better as friends.#they care for each other and I'll admit that there is a beautiful tragedy in them having romantic feelings for each other the whole time.#But I am also here for the gaffs. On average, what is the total MONTHLY amount that you spend on dining out*?

*(This doesn't only count going out to restaurants, but also stuff like picking up fast food to bring home, getting a coffee on the way to work, getting a premade sandwich from a grocery store deli during lunch, buying a quick snack from a convenience store or food cart whilst walking somewhere, ordering a pizza or any other food to be delivered to your home, etc.)

(I'm sure polls similar to this have been made before (very common topic), I just haven't personally seen one that I can remember, so, I was curious to do my own! I was discussing this with a group of people today and it was very interesting to see how widely the number varied between individuals. :0c )

Maybe the rare month is a bit over $25 if there's something specific going on like birthday.#Which I'm NEVER eating in an actual restaurant (erm... covid... plus I just hate restaurant environments. i would rather pickup #the food and bring it home to a peaceful quiet environment that I control lol). But more typically like stopping by a grocery store deli #section or something. I don't have coffee that much. And I can't eat fast food much due to my health issues/diet restriction stuff #so if I'm out like coming back from an appointment and I start feeling really sick and weak. I know that a hamburger will just #blow up my system and cause nausea or something. Genuinely I think even if I were a BILLIONAIRE I would still look at playing likr $8 for a single #coffee and go .. uh.... I could just buy the equipment to make this and then save that money. PLUS. its in my house now so no need to #have to leave. #i'm alive. simply being chewed upon by multiple things #work is more stressful than i'd like it to be. for instance i'm hoping that i submitted my time off notification for tomorrow correctly #because otherwise it might read as a no call no show and i would . like to continue having a job #now to be fair. i do have it on the system that i requested it at the beginning of the month and i emailed my supervisor about it last week #so even if i didn't submit it correctly i'm likely in the clear #but nonetheless. i also got a firm talking-to the other day and now i am on ✨thin ice✨ for dicking around too much #because they track ur idle time at my work (computer) and mine was Quite High so my supervisor was like man what the hell is this #but even though she was kind of baffled at me spending so much time dicking around #she couldn't even really be all that mad in the end because i'm still doing good numbers and have made no (zero) mistakes #so she was just like. it's kind of impressive that your numbers look this good when you literally have 50% idle time #so she goes imagine what you could do if you weren't wasting so much time #and yeah i can whip out some Really Good Numbrers when i put the effort in.#so the problem is not my numbers it's just that i'm not spending long enough doing my tasks for the day #but i don't want to drag out those tasks intentionally so i've just been upping my own standards/goals #as much as i hate giving any more of my brain power than is necessary to giant corporations #it's still easy to feel smug after you get Talked To and then immediately turn around and show off #like yeah i coulda been doing this good the whole time. literally pulling up by 20 points. i just didn't want to.#trying to keep everyone's expectations low but accidentally toed the line of um. not working enough to keep my job #...anyway. Sure! Artfight is an online art-trading event that happens for the entire month of July, on artfight.net— every year, two “themes” are revealed, and participating artists will pick one of them to be on that “team.” You can upload reference pictures and explanations of your ocs to your profile page on artfight, and throughout the month, artists can draw other users’ characters and send them as “attacks,” ideally drawing characters from artists on the opposite team to earn points for their own team (though many artists (including myself) will just join/participate to draw their friends’ ocs and characters they think would be fun to draw, regardless of the teams)!

If you’re trying to figure out how to send an attack, you should be able to find the “Attacks” option on the drop down on the top right of the artfight home page (under the ‘Manage’ section, not ‘Messages’), and on that page you should be able to select “Submit New Attack!” from there, you’ll fill out anything you want to say about the attack, upload your images (as well as a 200x200 pixel thumbnail)l what “level” of drawing it is (how much you colored it, if you shaded it, if there’s a background, etc), and the website will calculate how many points you’ve earned for your team based on all of those categories and wether or not the artist you’re attacking is on your team or not!

Unfortunately, there’s only a few more days left in this year’s artfight, so you won’t be able to earn points for your team after August 3rd, but nothing can stop you from drawing others’ OCs for fun and posting them here after the event! Or you can always wait for next years fight if you want to take part in the team fight itself! But that being said you can join at any time even if it’s just for one week or one day or whatever!

#my characters #i missed her so much wowee #her name is katale and thats what she goes by EXCEPT her best friend (and ex boyfriend and boss) who gets to call her kitty #hes just like the all around best guy in her life and she loves him a whole lot #and even though they broke up they have a very loving friendship and shes like #oh i would absolutely kill for him and in fact i am VERY good at killing im honing my skills :3 #and her family is actually just a bunch of criminals and the only reason the other guy gets involved #is bc he needs fast money to help his mom with hospital bills and so hes like hey my mom doesnt need to know how shes alive #and then he somehow becomes head honcho and is a rumored to be ruthless man #but hes just incredibly level headed and able to think his way up (and kills a few unpleasant family members for kitty)#and if shes running out and about you can even hear him say shit like #my wife left me i miss my wife #and everyone knows he means katale but no one knows how to react bc its clearly a joke (???) since they broke up #but no one is telling their boss to elaborate the wife situation #kitty however is the entire reason that she gets this lil puppy of an agent to not kill rudyard her dear boss #and somehow they adopt this grown man and also his really weird mentor who faked their death #but they love their puppy son boy agent man #and kitty is super happy to dote on the agent but even she has her lines like WHY DID YOU JUST HAND HIM A GUN #RUDYARD HE TRIED TO KILL YOU LIKE LAST MONTH WHAT ARE YOU DOING #and rudyard is just ??? can i NOT shove a gun into his hands now? what is that? a crime? really? gonna tell on me? a criminal? for crimes?#but genuinely it stresses her out bc she loves her adopted son but loves her best friend and eventually she realizes #ok puppy agent man is loyal to them but not a criminal thats ok #while rudyard is like ... passing him guns to try out as a bonding thing #but also he is fascinated with how good the agents aim is like hey kitty you should watch how far he can shoot perfectly #hey kitty remember all those dead underlings and how precise their kills were to make them not suffer this guy is really good #also for what its worth ruds mom is still alive! shes just in a nursing home now and he goes to visit her #kitty and rudyard have such a fun dynamic to me and both are murderers but its okay (its not)#also kitty likes anime and she has forced rud to watch anime with her and he just accepts his fate #bc it makes kitty happy to share so he will watch to make her happy even if he doesnt understand all the appeal

learning abt friendship decay and "not reaching out to your friends for months at a time unprompted is not neurotypical behaviour" has me feeling a certain way

#experiencing some BIG FEELINGS OVER THIS REVELATION #listen i have never ever been bothered abt not seeing someone in a while or making time to talk to them bc in my mind its like not thst muc #time has passed. i mean it with every fibre of my being that when im like 'oh its ok even though we havent talked in a while and have our #own things going on it doesnt mean we're not friends anymore since we left things on a good note 8 months ago' i sincerely believe that #and for the longest time i just thought everybody makes peace with it at some point and not automatically assuming the other person doesnt #wanna talk to me anymore or smth. my longest lasting friendships are with ppl who work the same way i just thouhght that was normal #whatever organ everybody has that makes them reach out to their friends and plan hang outs i probably dont have it #i was already hesitant to ask out Alex bc i spend almost every waking hour doing smth that isnt talking to ppl unless they happen to be in #the vicinity. and at first it was bc i planned on making sure i had everything set up so i dont get stressed out and do it one at a time #but then i find out theres a friendship decay mechanic? and after dating and marrying someone you lose -10 friendship points for every #day u dont talk to them?? actually ive probably been losing friendship points this whole time without knowing bc of this?????#and i notice a lot of my own habits are also reflected in how i play bc ive been avoiding getting close to pierre and marnie since its more #of a professional relationship. like i know theyre npcs but im approaching it the way i would in real life its fucking nuts #i think its a little relieving im playing /as/ a character than myself bc as im playing im just making up little interactions in my head #than approaching things the way i would myself so it takes a bit of the stress off trying to put myself in there as a spectator. but well #being in a relationship demands a certain amount of energy even more so when theyre things that already take up energy on its own #like making time to talk to your partner and make sure they know theyre loved. i dont always have energy to put all my mental focus into it #and this is true for real life so im not really bothered by not dating anyone. but when its a game and i want my character to be with someo #and i know its fully optional and i know i could just apply the same logic to this i dont /want/ to. sometimes i want to experience #the same things other people do at least to a certain degree without the same emotional andmental stakes #no offense krobus #yapping #stardew #stardew valley #puppy plays sdv #sdv #this game has me by the ankles man

#poorly drawn mdzs #better drawn mdzs #mdzs #madam lan #A-qing #Band AU #(Reminder that Madam Lan's design inspiration goes to Qourmet!)#Madam Lan may have been the winner per vote count but there were so many strong advocates for A-Qing!#I played around with a few versions of what the 'poll winner' art was going to be and ultimately decided I wanted them both.#As any good theater love knows though - The battle for leadership was a ruse. They *all* get a chance to be featured.#Cooperation was the real end goal! However I do think these two have the best frontman energy of the group.#Or at least 'crowd favourite' energy. I also really loved hearing what people thought their vocal styles would be like!#This was probably one of my favourite polls to do and I love drawing these characters a lot B*)#I'd love to spend a bit more time in this AU so count on me bringing it back.#One thing I keep feeling like I need to redeem myself on is Madam Lan's Translucent skirt. I have *not* done the concept justice yet.#It is such a crack-platonic ship but I want to think Madam Lan and A-Qing would enjoy each other's company.#Possibly also with JYL as well. They can be like mutually beneficial therapy dogs to each other.#Madam Lan never got to see her kids grow up into teenagers after all. She only had sons. Never daughters.#Even if she saw her kids once a month we do know she treated them with so much love and kindness.#She would bite the shit out of YZY for yelling at JYL. What a sight to see. @morningstarequestrian's new Baroque Tack Set is absolutely perfect for tacking up the horses from my story save. (which I've been neglecting for the past year+) (Other pieces are from the Medieval Tack Set or the Medieval Round Bridle. The first outfits are from @objuct's Traditional Arabian Set, plus one of my recolors of that set.)

The first two outfits are something I could see being like, a parade outfit, at least for Alena. (Kristopher wouldn't be involved in any parades back in Oryn, I just wanted to test out all my cc.) Especially the version with the tassels isn't practical for just recreational riding, but it certainly looks nice for a parade, and does resemble parade-type outfits.

Alena's 2nd-3rd outfits and Phillip's 2nd-4th outfits are just more general-purpose riding. Two different saddles each and a few different saddle pads for Phillip.

Phillip's 5th outfit and Alena's 4th and 5th are potentially more of long-distance setups. Maybe like some kind of tour, where Fallon would be riding for long distances, but still want to look formal / be seen by people. (Again, not really something Kristopher and Phillip would have been doing, but it looked good on him and I wanted to test stuff out.) Alena has a second variation because technically white isn't one of Anvia's royal colors, but black is, so if it was a public event, she might tack in black. Especially as that would show less wear and dirt than the white for long travel.

The last pic is a blanket for Phillip because it gets cold in Oryn, especially in the winter and late fall/early spring. Alena doesn't really need a blanket most of the time, since Anvia's winters are much milder. (They don't often get snow, and when they do it's rarely more than an inch or two at a time.)
