âĄËËâ*àłË : MEET THE FAMILY : :;
â°â†â [PAIRING] â Logan Howlett x F!Stark!Reader
ă»â„ă»GENRE: Fluff :))
Ëàšà§âïœĄË âFANDOM: X-Men & MCU
à©â©â§âË WARNINGS: None!
Ëâ· ÍÍÍÍâłâ„SUMMARY: After your dad, Tony Stark, finds out youâre dating Logan, he insists the whole Avengers team meet him. Nervous but with Logan by your side, you head to the compound, with Wade tagging along. The Avengers are curious and a little skeptical, especially Tony, but Logan holds his own during dinner. He impresses the team with his confidence and clear care for you, even earning Tonyâs reluctant approval by the end of the night. Despite the initial tension, Logan becomes a part of your chaotic family, and everyone accepts him.
Part 2
THE COMPOUND WAS QUIET. Too quiet. You'd been on edge ever since Happy had called you that morning, voice full of that awkward yet endearing nervousness he always got when delivering badâor rather, inconvenientânews.
âYour dad knows.â
Three words that had set your entire day into a downward spiral of anxiety. Of course, Tony would find out. He had eyes and ears everywhere, despite you trying to keep things on the down low. And now, he had apparently told everyone.
Your boyfriend, Logan, sat beside you on the drive to the Avengers compound, eyes fixed on the road, completely unfazed. He was never one to be easily rattled. He hadnât even batted an eye when you mentioned the entire Avengers team was going to be waiting to meet him. If anything, he just lit a cigar and shrugged, saying, "Not the first time I've been sized up by a bunch of superheroes."
Logan was like that. Unbothered. Calm in the face of impending chaos.
Unlike you.
You let out a deep sigh, clutching the steering wheel a bit tighter. "You know, we could just make a U-turn right now," you muttered, hoping, praying heâd take you up on the offer.
Logan chuckled, the low rumble soothing and maddening all at once. "Nah, darlin'. Weâll be fine. Whatâs the worst that could happen?"
"Logan, it's my dad. My dad, who, mind you, is Tony Stark. Genius. Billionaire. Overprotective father extraordinaire. I love him, but heâs going to grill you."
He smirked, one of those self-assured, slightly cocky looks that made your heart skip. "Iâve been through worse, trust me."
You were about to respond when a voice suddenly piped up from the backseat, startling you both.
âHey, so whatâs for dinner? I hope itâs not shawarma. I had that yesterday, and let me tell you, intestinal distress doesnât even begin to cover it.â
âWade?!â
The red-suited mercenary, Wade Wilsonâaka Deadpoolâgrinned as he popped his head between the seats. "Who else? You thought Iâd miss a chance to meet the Avengers again? Besides, Iâve got a bet with myself to see which of them cracks first. My moneyâs on Banner. Big guyâs got a short fuse."
You groaned. âWade, you werenât even invited.â
"Yeah, but you love me," Wade said with a wink. "Plus, Iâm the one who introduced you two lovebirds, so technically, Iâm responsible for all of this.â
Logan rolled his eyes, but there was a glint of amusement there. He had a weird, chaotic friendship with Wade that baffled you at times. Still, Wade had been the one to introduce you to Logan in the first place. After one of those typical Wade escapades where you'd found yourself smack dab in the middle of a multiverse-saving mission, Logan had swooped in, gruff and full of snark, but undeniably magnetic. You'd been hooked ever since.
"Alright, just... please don't say anything weird when we get there. This is already going to be awkward enough as it is."
Wade gave you a salute. "Scout's honor, kiddo."
~
When you arrived at the compound, Logan strode beside you, a protective yet calm presence. Wade, naturally, flanked the other side, completely unfazed by the prospect of facing a room full of Earth's mightiest heroes.
As you entered the living area, the first to greet you was not your father, but Morgan Stark, Tonyâs precocious little daughter, who ran up to you with a big grin on her face.
"Hey, Morgs," you greeted, bending down to hug her.
Her eyes immediately shifted to Logan, who watched the interaction with a faint smile. "Is this him?" she asked, her eyes bright with curiosity.
You nodded, a little nervous. "Yup. Morgan, this is Logan."
Morgan looked up at him with wide eyes, studying him. Logan crouched down to her level, his usually gruff demeanor softening just a bit. âYou must be Morgan. Your sister talks about you all the time."
Morgan beamed. "Youâre tall."
Logan chuckled. âAnd youâre smart.â
Morgan grinned and then, in typical kid fashion, dashed off, satisfied with her judgment. "I like him!" she called out as she disappeared into the kitchen.
One down.
Then the rest of the team filtered inâTony, Pepper, Steve, Nat, Clint, Bruce, Thor, and even Rhodey. They all sized Logan up in their own way.
Tony, of course, was the first to speak.
"So," he said, voice casual but his eyes sharp, "this is the guy?"
Logan straightened up, meeting Tony's gaze with that signature, unflinching confidence. "Yup."
Tony took a moment, probably running a full background check in his mind before nodding. âAlright. Dinnerâs almost ready, but first, I think the teamâs got some questions.â
Steve, ever the diplomat, stepped forward with a polite smile. âLogan, right? Howâd you two meet?â
Before you could respond, Wade butted in.
âOh, itâs a great story!â he exclaimed, gesturing dramatically. âSo, picture thisâalternate dimensions, worlds colliding, typical Tuesday stuff. Iâm getting my ass handed to me by some bad guysââ
âI donât remember it that way,â you interjected.
âShh, let me have this moment. Anyway, I call in Logan here for backup, because duh, claws and healing factor, and then boom, sparks fly between these two.â
Natasha raised an eyebrow, crossing her arms as her eyes flicked between you and Logan. "Sparks?"
You opened your mouth to reply, but Wade was too quick. "Like fireworks on the Fourth of July. Or maybe that was an explosionâI can't remember."
Logan sighed, clearly used to Wade's antics by now. âWe met on a mission. Wade was being a pain in the ass, as usual. Your girl here held her own, and I liked that."
Your face heated up at Loganâs praise. You noticed Natasha and Steve exchanging a look. Clint leaned against the wall, his arms crossed, lips quirking up slightly as if he was already sizing Logan up.
âMultiverse missions, huh?" Clint finally said. "That mustâve been fun.â
Logan smirked, locking eyes with Clint, both men now in some sort of unspoken stare-off. âFun's one way to put it.â
Clint didnât break eye contact but gave a slow, approving nod. âSo youâre used to the crazy life. Good.â
Thor, ever the enthusiastic one, stepped forward next, looking Logan up and down. "Ah, a fellow warrior, no doubt!" He clapped a hand on Logan's shoulder, earning a slight grunt from him. âTell me, Logan, have you faced a frost giant before? Or perhaps a horde of dark elves?â
Logan gave a half-shrug, completely unfazed by Thorâs boisterous personality. âHavenât seen those specifically, but Iâve fought my fair share of things with claws, teeth, and bad attitudes.â
Thor laughed heartily, clearly impressed. "Then we shall have many stories to exchange!"
Bruce, who had been hanging back, finally spoke up. "So, uh... any anger management issues we should be aware of?" He asked it cautiously, but you could see the hint of a grin tugging at the corner of his mouth.
Wade snorted. "Banner, you're one to talk."
Logan just grinned, clearly enjoying himself. "Letâs just say I know how to handle myself.â
Natashaâs gaze sharpened. "Iâve heard about you. Wolverine, right? Healing factor, claws, indestructible skeleton."
Logan nodded once. "Thatâs me."
She studied him for a moment longer, then gave a small, approving nod. âImpressive.â
Tony, though silent for most of the interaction, was still sizing Logan up. You could feel the weight of your dadâs expectations hanging over the room. He wasnât one to just roll over and let things be.
âSo, Logan,â Tony said, leaning back with a scrutinizing look. âYouâve been around a long time. Done a lot, I assume. How exactly do you plan on handling my daughter?â
Logan didnât flinch under Tonyâs gaze. Instead, he gave a small, almost imperceptible smile. âShe can handle herself just fine, Stark. But if you're asking if Iâve got her back? Always.â
The room went quiet for a beat. Even Wade had paused from whatever chaotic inner monologue he had going. The weight of Loganâs words, his seriousness, seemed to sink into everyone.
Tonyâs eyes flicked to yours, and for the first time that night, his expression softened. A flicker of somethingâacceptance, maybeâpassed across his face.
âWell,â Tony said, standing up and smoothing his shirt. âIn that case, I suppose we should eat.â
As everyone began to move toward the dining room, you felt Loganâs hand slide into yours, giving it a reassuring squeeze. You looked up at him, relieved to see a small smile playing on his lips.
âThey like you,â you whispered.
Logan shrugged, but there was a warmth in his eyes. âMore importantly, they love you.â
You leaned into him slightly as you both followed the rest of the Avengers. And as for Logan? He had passed the test.
~
As the group settled into the dining room, the mood shifted slightlyâless tense, more familial. The Avengers took their seats around the long table, conversations gradually picking up, but you couldnât shake the subtle glances they kept throwing Loganâs way. It was clear they were still sizing him up in their own way.
Logan, for his part, remained calm. He was good at reading a room, better at letting things roll off his back. Youâd noticed that about him early onâhe had this way of commanding a space just by being in it, without the need for flashy words or grand gestures. Even so, you could tell by the way his hand remained close to yours that he was paying attention to every little detail. Watching, listening, judging.
Morgan was seated next to Tony, happily talking to Pepper about something sheâd done at school that week, her occasional glance toward Logan full of childlike curiosity and approval. To her, Logan wasnât an intimidating figure. He was your boyfriendânothing more, nothing less. The simplicity of it warmed your heart.
Dinner was served, and Wade, who had somehow managed to squeeze in between Natasha and Clint, immediately started in on a loud, entirely unprompted story about a mission in Madripoor that no one really asked for.
âSo there I was, pinned down by a mob of highly trained ninja assassinsâyes, they exist, Steveâand Iâm about to go down for the count when Logan here comes in with the whole snikt, snikt thing,â Wade mimed Loganâs claws extending with dramatic flair, âand saves my beautiful behind from a fate worse than death: losing my taco night.â
Steve sighed, rolling his eyes good-naturedly. âRight, because thatâs clearly the priority in a life-or-death situation.â
âExactly!â Wade pointed enthusiastically, as if Steve had just made his point for him. âThis guy gets it.â
Natasha leaned back, smirking as she cut into her food. âSo, Logan saved your life, and thatâs how the two of you met?â
You chuckled, shaking your head. âNot exactly. Logan and I didnât really meet officially until a little later. Wade just⊠happened to be there. Per usual.â
âPer usual, my dear?â Wade gasped dramatically. âYou wound me. You wouldnât have even met this tall drink of Canadian water if it werenât for me!â
Logan gave a quiet grunt of amusement, though he didnât say anything. Instead, he caught your eye, the barest hint of a smile tugging at the corner of his lips as Wade continued his rambling story.
Thor, who had been listening intently to Wadeâs increasingly exaggerated tale, turned to Logan, looking genuinely intrigued. âSo, Wolverine, your clawsâare they forged of enchanted metal, much like Mjölnir?â
Logan paused, mid-chew, and raised an eyebrow at the Asgardian. âNot exactly. Adamantium. Strongest metal on Earth. Had it grafted to my skeleton a long time ago.â
Thor nodded, stroking his beard thoughtfully. âAh, I see! A most noble addition. I myself am well-acquainted with weaponry of such caliber. Though I must admit,â he leaned in slightly, âI would be most curious to see them in action.â
Logan gave a low chuckle. âMaybe after dessert.â
As the conversation drifted on, Logan slowly began to settle in. Steve asked him a few more questions about his pastâcarefully avoiding anything too personal or traumaticâand Clint, always the quiet observer, seemed to be assessing Logan from across the table, eyes sharp but not unkind.
Tony, meanwhile, hadnât said much since dinner started. He watched everything, listened to everyone, but remained quiet, only offering the occasional comment or quip. You knew him well enough to recognize that he was still processing. As much as Tony trusted your judgment, the whole âoverprotective dadâ thing didnât exactly disappear overnight.
âSo,â Tony finally spoke up, setting his fork down as the rest of the table quieted. âYouâve been through a lot. War, battles, more than most people could handle in one lifetime. And yet, here you are.â
Logan glanced at him, not quite sure where this was going, but he nodded. âYeah. Seen more than my share.â
Tony leaned forward, elbows on the table, and his gaze sharpened, narrowing slightly as if he was putting Logan through one last test. âMy daughterâs important to meâ really important. You say youâve got her back, and I respect that. But if youâre sticking around⊠youâre gonna need to know one thing.â
The room stilled. Even Wade had gone quiet, which was a rare feat. Logan met Tonyâs stare head-on, not a trace of intimidation or hesitation in his gaze.
âWhatâs that?â Logan asked evenly.
Tony exhaled, his expression softeningâjust a fraction. âThis family? Weâve been through hell. Lost people we cared about. Weâve had our world flipped upside down more times than I can count. And the thing is⊠when youâre in, youâre in. No half-measures. No walking away when things get tough. You stick it out. You fight for the people who matter.â
Logan didnât blink. His gaze shifted briefly to you, then back to Tony. âThatâs how Iâve always lived.â
Tony nodded slowly, almost imperceptibly. There was a weight to that moment, a silent understanding passing between them. Whatever final test Tony had in mind, it seemed Logan had passed.
Pepper, sensing the shift, smiled softly and placed a hand on Tonyâs arm, quietly grounding him. âDinner was wonderful,â she said warmly, breaking the tension. âI think weâve had enough grilling for one night.â
Natasha smirked, raising an eyebrow at Logan. âYouâve survived the inquisition. Impressive.â
Logan shrugged. âDidnât seem all that bad.â
Rhodey laughed. âYouâre lucky. The last guy that showed up to date one of Starkâs kids? He didnât make it past the appetizers.â
Tony snorted, shooting Rhodey a playful glare. âThatâs because that guy showed up in a muscle car blaring AC/DC and quoting Shakespeare.â
âI thought you liked AC/DC?â you teased.
âI do. Not when itâs a first impression.â
Morgan, who had been quietly observing the back-and-forth, suddenly piped up. âAre you staying here tonight?â she asked innocently, looking up at Logan.
Logan blinked, clearly not expecting the question. âUhâŠâ
âMorgan,â Pepper began, her tone gentle but with that motherly undertone of ânot now.â
âWhat? If heâs dating my sister, maybe he should stay!â
Wade, sensing an opportunity to cause more chaos, grinned beneath his mask. âOh, I second that motion, mini-Stark! Logan here can bunk with me. Iâll show him my extensive collection of â80s action movies. Itâll be like a slumber party, only with more explosions.â
Clint nearly spit out his drink, trying to stifle his laughter, and even Natasha cracked a rare smile.
Logan, who had been stoic and composed throughout the entire evening, just shook his head. âYeah, Iâll pass.â
You burst out laughing, and as you glanced around the table, you saw that, little by little, Logan was beginning to fit in with the Avengersâ chaotic dynamic. Sure, there were still guarded looks and unspoken tests, but your familyâboth blood and foundâwas starting to accept him in their own way.
As dessert was served and the conversation shifted to lighter topics, you felt Loganâs hand rest on your knee under the table, a small, reassuring touch that grounded you. You leaned into him slightly, smiling to yourself. Maybe this whole thing hadnât been as bad as youâd feared.
By the time the evening began winding down, Logan was in the middle of an animated conversation with Thor about battle strategies, Wade was loudly recounting yet another exaggerated mission story to anyone whoâd listen, and Morgan had fallen asleep in Pepperâs arms.
Tony, now more relaxed, leaned over to you as the others chatted around the table. âSo⊠Logan,â he said quietly.
You glanced at him, unsure of what was coming next. âYeah?â
Tony gave a small, reluctant smile. âI still think you couldâve given me a heads-up earlier, but⊠heâs alright. I guess.â
You grinned, bumping your shoulder against his. âTold you so.â
Tony chuckled softly, shaking his head. âDonât get used to it.â
As the night wrapped up and the team slowly began to disperse, you and Logan lingered by the door. Tony walked up to Logan, offering his hand.
âTake care of her,â Tony said, his tone steady but genuine.
Logan gripped Tonyâs hand firmly, meeting his gaze once more. âAlways.â
With that final exchange, you left the compound with Logan by your side, Wade tagging along (of course). And as you drove away, your hand resting in Loganâs, you felt a sense of peace settle over you.
Your family had met him. Heâd met them. And while it hadnât been perfect, it was the first step in blending the two worlds you cared so deeply about. In the end, Logan wasnât just a part of your life anymore.
He was a part of theirs.

More thoughts and theories about our favorite Necromancer
My darlings, I have too many thoughts and my obsession is running wild. (How I missed you, hyperfocus). If you have read my last meta post about our Emmrich, here it is: First Meta Post
That is not a required read however. I am still wondering why anyone is reading my word vomit U_U
Anyway, I love reading other peoples theories, so please, send me yours. <3 And a lot of thanks and love for all you darlings who make this fandom such a beautiful and nice place. Especially to @jaal-ama-daravv - who makes the most beautiful videos, and writes such wonderful character studies.
Warning, from here on there will be spoilers as well as mentions of sex. If you don't want to read about any of that, do not read the rest.
Also pictures and way too many words. This is a ten page word document, save yourself while you can. I tend to go off on a tangent once I start writing. I am also well aware that not everyone will agree. This is just my personal read on Emmrich.
Now, after my first essay I have some more thoughts on Emmrich and Rook and specifically their intimate relationship.
Emmrich is such an interesting and baffling contradiction. On the one hand he is confident, self-assured, all manners and poise. He is smart, and he knows it. He has special gifts, and he knows it. He is confident without being proud. He likes to teach others without being arrogant. He still likes to learn about new things and is, as far as Iâve seen, never judgmental about different beliefs and ways of life. (Unless someone treats him with disdain or bully him)
He is a man who is confident speaking of his thoughts and feelings and fears. How he just casually drops his thanatophobia is just astonishing. He is honest and open-minded in the best ways.
And then there is the other side of him. The wet kitten side of him. As open and honest as he is about his emotions, when we get to the meat of it, to the scary bit, the real feely bit, he locks up completely. As long as it is surface level (or he can pretend its surface level), everything is up for discussion. But once we reach deeper and touch *love* he gets so scared and refuses to admit and commit to his feelings. And as much *death* scares him, love scares him more.
So how does that influence his intimate relationship with Rook?
According to the banter with Lace âeveryone knows about itâ. He was rather surprised by that.
That tells us two things:
They were trying to be sneaky or at least keep their private business private.
They failed, massively.
Add to that Laces comment about them moving rather fast (when, where? I would have loved to have seen that. Comments like that just give me the feeling that we should have had some more cutscenes after the dinner date, to show us those two besotted fools).
But back to them moving rather fast. I would guess that they both did a lot of gazing lovingly at each other, blushing, spacing out while watching their darling, stollen kisses in the hallway when they thought no one was watching, stuff like that. Just being to besotted fools.
But moving fast usually includes sex. Lots of needy, sweaty sex. The inability to keep their hands of each other.
That moves us to the question of the day â did they have sex before their coffin time?
Letâs look at what we know about Emmrich. Emmrich is no virgin. That man has experience. He had past lovers. But what he tells us at that sweet diner date â ânothing serious for years.â We know not much else besides his crush on a boy in his youth and his fling with the Orlesian Art Lady. He is not someone to kiss and tell and that is appreciated. That man has class, and we love him for it.
So - nothing SERIOUS for years. If he hadnât had ANY relationships in the past years, he would have said so. But what he says is that he did, in fact, have UNSERIOUS relationships in the last few years.
I would read that to be somewhere along the âfwb, lovers, affairs, paramours, companions, a fling, a little romanceâ line. Something not purely, but mainly physically driven. Someone you like and respect, you can go out and have a good time with, have lots of amazing sex with (b/c he is a living being and has his needs). Spending time with people he liked, was sexually attracted too, but nothing as serious as love. A physical relationship. A little thrill, some fluttering, but never that deep.
Not to say that those situationships would not have been romantic. He is (buried under all that resignation) a deeply romantic man. I am pretty sure he went on nice romantic dates with his previous paramours too. That this is something he just enjoys too much. Treating a companion with some quality time, not just in, but also out of the bedroom.
But after heâd given up on his dreams, he did not have any notion of those flings being more than a âenjoy the momentâ. There was never the expectation of deeper feelings, beyond friendship, attraction and/or respect. All those romantic gestures were nothing more than a little bit of âplay pretendâ. To give himself the illusion of true romance, just for a little time.
Take the fact that you can go a âeverything you do is creepy but I still flirt with you and I want you to throw me over that tombstoneâ and his comment on âthe attraction of the forbiddenâ? This is not a relationship born of mutual respect and deeper feelings but out of purely physical attraction. And he is OK with that.
I want to repeat â Emmrich is very much okay with a casual, sexual affair. He does not require love to have a relationship with someone.
And then think about that Johanna calls Rook specifically his âparamourâ. Which is a lover, especially an illicit one. This word was very specifically chosen by Johanna. For various reasons, I would think.
For one, I do believe that it is a dig at his dreams of the eternal flame. Itâs a dig at him, that Rook is not his love, but his paramour. A lover for a time. To be parted from soon enough. B/c that silly dream of his, as if it ever would become reality.
Second, I think it is a comment on the way his relationships often went, especially in the past years. Those unserious flings of his. Never to amount to anything substantial.
Did he try to have something serious in the past? Oh yes, for sure. But it never worked out. Then he gave up his dream and just let himself have a good time with people he found to be nice and attractive.
To pick up my point of self-sabotage from my last meta post â Iâve come to a point where I believe Emmrich is a kind of chaser. I know someone like that and itâs so fucking tragic.
Emmrich feels deeply and strongly. When he falls in love with someone itâs a lot of emotion. But at that point itâs all dream, want, wish. As soon as someone returns these feelings - those dreams, wants and wishes become reality. And reality is scary. In this wishful dream about the eternal flame, there is no fear. No fights. No loss. But that is not reality. As soon as it becomes reality, he gets scared. Before, his feelings were no threat, because you canât lose what you donât have. Once those feelings are returned, there is a clear possibility of losing, of being lost, of being left behind.
Emmrich is not a chaser because he enjoys the hunt. He is a chaser because being loved by someone is scary. So damn scary. So, he starts to pick fights and is looking for excuses. From being the chaser, he becomes the chased. He is hunted by his fears, and his fight or flight instincts go all flight.
After years of this cycle he gives up. Resigns himself to flings and little romances without even thinking of more. Or so he thinks. Dreams like that donât die, they just get buried.
And Iâd think that there was not many, even of those short term flings, lately. His life revolves around work and Manfred.
Now remember he comments on Rook âshowing unexpected interest in a new companionâ.
First of all â unexpected.
They are a daring adventurer. He thinks of himself clearly as the more boring one, compared to Rook. He never expected any of those flirts. But he is clearly flattered.
Second â companion.
That was such a weird way of saying âhey do you like me?â. This whole âcompanionâ thing does not scream âI have FEELZ for you/you have FEELZ for meâ but rather, âI think you might want to spend some quality time with meâ.
The possible answers - dashing good looks, kindness, his way of words.
He feels he is fortunate if Rook thinks him good looking. Hallo, Mr. Professor, sir⊠Have you looked in the mirror lately? Consider that he is meticulously grooming himself, takes his exercises daily in the morning. That man does not like himself aging. I think it is a reminder of how his pending death is a step closer every day. But it shows, to him, that his efforts of taking care of himself are not in vain. Or maybe it shows him that his age does not matter. Rook finds him attractive despite (or because) of his physical age.
Rooks comment on his very charming way of putting things makes him hope his years behind the lectern have proved useful. Hey *years* behind the lectern. Again, this is a way of saying his age is NOT a problem but a benefit.
If Rook remarks his kindness, he answers âyou humble meâ. Itâs the one answer that does not touch his age/experience/looks. Itâs a remark on an innate character trait he possesses. Kindness. His whole demeanor in this option shows he is actually touched. And maybe a bit baffled. He did not expect this, at all. Its like he sees his kindness not as an attractive trait. Which he should. He is nice without TM and its sexy as hell.
The next part is his statement âIf your attentions go beyond charming flattery⊠that would interest me, indeedâ. This reads to me not necessarily as âdo you have feelings for meâ but as âdo you just enjoy the flirting, or do you want to do more than flirting?â
And oh boy, does he want to do more than flirting. I want to repeat my earlier statement â this man has given up on love. But some little fling with an exiting young adventure who was constantly, awkwardly flirting with him? Hell, yeah.
(I want to remind you that we were able to have mutually enjoyed flirts with Dorian as fem!Inky. You can flirt with someone and still never want to fuck them. And you are also perfectly able to want more than flirting without having deeper feelings. Like sweet, dump Shepaloo said it so eloquently âLets bang, okay?â)
Again, I want to pick up a point of my last post, that this is all surface level thoughts. I do believe that their emotional attraction and depth of feelings go deeper, from the start. But how often does it take quite a bit of time to realize oneâs own feelings. Especially this wonderful, silly man whose modus operandi is running away.
Now, an interested Rook can answer in an open âlets see where this goesâ way. Mirroring his rather open idea of a little romance, a fling, some quality time. Something that does not have to end in an eternal flame, but a simple enjoyment and exploration of the moment.
Rook can also reply with a âI think they do.â â What Rook actually says is âI think they alreadyâŠâ
And conveniently Rooks answer here is cut short by our sweet boy Manfred. They get cut short, no matter what answer you choose, but in this specific case, I am convinced this was very much on purpose. What would the whole sentence have been?
âI think they already go way beyond flattery.â (?!?) Something along those lines. But that goes into danger zone. WAY into danger zone.
If Rook had finished that sentence, at that point in their budding romance? It would have been over before is all started. Too much, too soon. Too much for him, period.
Now we have the hard lock â their sweet romantic moment in the Memorial Gardens. And he is smitten. He fell hook, line, and sinker for his own play pretend. Just a little romance, but that man is falling, fast. (Not that he would admit that to himself).
A beautiful date, all arranged by Emmrich, to spend time with Rook. Because a couple should have a quite moment to get to know each other. I mean there were menu cards with gilded edges, ffs. And, oh yes, they were âlets dig into the feelingsâ, he said couple. He is falling, falling, falling fast. But it still hasnât hit him, how deep he has fallen for his darling Rook. Poor Emmrich.
Then a fight, where we really see the wet kitten side of him for the first time. A little wet, feral kitten, hissing at the hand thatâs trying to feed it.
Emmrich is lashing out for no good reason (or no good reason for anyone but himself). There is no real confidence there but a desperate act of pretending. An iron (slipping) grip, trying to control himself and the narrative. Shoulders squared, back straight, an arrogant stance, raised chin, turned half-away from Rook, and a condescending way of talking to Rook.
Like I said in my last post â he is working his way up to breaking up with them. And he tells himself itâs like ripping off a bandaid. Be strong and confident and say what you have to say, and they will see the wisdom of that.
Itâs only that, they donât. Because there IS NO wisdom in what he is doing right now. They donât take his bullshit but throw it back at him. They donât accept his mock excuses.
Look at him here, how he looks down ON them. I canât recall any other time he looks down on Rook, despite him being a tall king.
Especially the route where Rook throws it in his face that he DOES in fact love them. Speak what he canât even think.
âI canât⊠At myâŠâ
âI canât love you. At my ageâŠâ Why not? Does he not deserve love, just because he is a bit older? Itâs just heartbreaking how he views himself.
And again, he lashes out.
âI am perfectly serious.â So is Rook.
âOne of us has to pay attention to these things.â As if Rook is not paying attention. They got to the meat and bones of his problem in just a few seconds.
No matter what route you go here, the gist is the same. He is scared shitless, treats Rook like a child, and goes on how the is the only one thinking the important thoughts.
When Rook in reality way ahead of him. They thought about it and came to the conclusion that being with Emmrich is a really good idea.
Rook knew they were falling for someone older than them. (Even if that age difference is just a decade, with a mid-40s Rook.) They knew it, and still went with it. They are not a child who is too inexperienced and stupid to make decisions about their (love) life.
But now, here, at this moment? Emmrich treats them with disdain. Like a silly little person, who does not think things through. He holds himself above them. Physically and mentally. They are too young, he knows better.
And not once has he done that before. He always treated them as an equal. He follows them into the most dangerous situations ffs. He trusts them with his life in a fight against would-be gods.
All that fear and anger at himself that reaches a new high get redirected at Rook.
The next day they are off to Tearstone Island. That night must have been hell. For both of them. But its going to get much much worse.
In any case, Emmrich seems to have come to some conclusion or realization, because on that island? He apologizes.
They both did react very emotionally, but he came at Rook with superiority and, to a certain degree, dishonesty. All fueled by his fear. So that he is the one to take the first step and apologize to Rook instead of doubling down? An important step. As I said in my last post â he NEEDED to be called out. A sweet and nice counterargument would not have had the impact Rooks raw an honest emotion hat on him.
Emmrich âRook? Darling? I wanted to say-â
Rook âYeah, about that argumentâŠâ
Emmrich â(Sighs) Itâs no time to apologize, is it?â
And here we have the most heartbreaking line, in hindsight. âWeâll talk back home, Emmrich. I promise.â
(Narrator: but they would, in fact, not talk about it back home. Because someone would not go home.)
One fight and weeks of horror later, they find themselves in a private crypt and finally they do more than share a kiss.
Now - to the point I originally wanted to explore with this post â is this in fact their first time? (I am sorry, but my brain is a circle and nothing makes sense)
Letâs look at what evidence we have from the cut-scene.
Rook did not know he is an early riser.
That leaves two possibilities:
They never had sex up until that point.
They did have sex, but never spent the night together.
Now what does that mean?
This depends a lot on your personal Rook and how they feel about sex in general. If Rook wants to wait, or is not ready, he will absolutely accept and respect that.
But for the sake of this analysis lets go with the idea that Rook is not opposed to sex at an earlier date.
They never slept with each other
Why? He clearly was not opposed to casual relationships in the past. What would hold him back now? Especially if you recall Laces comment about them moving fast. Why not jump into the bedroom?
Now my first crack theory is that they get interrupted, like every time. (Rook interrupted The Dread Wolf, and now he cursed them to always be interrupted when they want to have some private time)
But now, in all seriousness, maybe itâs just that part of him DOES realize that this goes beyond a very unserious relationship. That they both have deeper feelings, that spark of something greater, something beautiful.
So, he holds back. He does not give his all. He is charming, he is flirty, he takes Rook on dates. But itâs all very technical. Very performative. Yes, he is a very romantic man, yes he enjoys those moments. But there is always a feeling of control.
Those moments when you see him let go a bit (that kiss beneath the eternal lovers, âI think, sometimes you indulge meâ), are so beautiful and you glimpse a bit of the man behind those walls.
He has a tell, you see. (I am telling you about it further down)
But generally, he feels very much in control of himself. And to lie with Rook? To go all the way? Too dangerous. Who knows what happens in that sweet moment after la petit mort? What secrets would his lips spill?
2. They slept together, but did not spent the night together.
They do have sex, but sleep alone in their own beds. Casual sex is fine, but to fall asleep in each otherâs arms? Too much. Too real. Sex okay, but sleepy post coitus cuddly? Woah, slow down your horses.
So, they have sex, preferably in Rooks bed. First, does he even have a bed? Second, itâs way easier to leave Rooks bed after the act, than throwing them out afterwards.
Oh, and how many reasons he has. Rook needs their uninterrupted sleep; they are stressed and must have proper rest. He wants to get some reading done before he retires. He needs to look after Manfred.
Oh, he is a bad liar, for sure. He is lying more to himself than to Rook. I would think that (if this is the build up to their fight) Rook realizes that he is giving poor excuses.
And the sex itself? A technical 10/10. He knows his anatomy, after all. But his heart is not really in it. He canât allow himself to. He holds back, keeps a tight lid on his emotions. They both are well spent afterwards, but like so much else, itâs performative. Technically very well executed, but rarely do you see HIM, the real him, behind all that performance. Whenever something slips through, he reels back and closes up.
And then we are in that crypt. Rook was gone for weeks. The last thing they said that night before were words of anger. Rook called him out on his feelings and from that point on there was no possible way of lying to himself anymore. Those feelings were there. They were real. Rooks feelings were real. And those weeks spent in desperation, trying to  get them back? Those walls came crashing down.
His true face, when all the walls are gone? You see that face when Rook leads him to the coffin. There is no pretense anymore. No performance. Just him, and all his love for Rook. The amount of emotion the animation team packed into those short moments in the cutscene? Mindblowing. Who ever crafted that expression on his face? They are the GOAT. I watch this part of that scene on repeat, and it never gets old.
So, I told you about how he has a tell, yes? Okay, two actually, but we all know surprised pikachu Emmrich. In that last scene it is resolved in the most beautiful way.
He looks down, when something touches him deeply, when he goes into his feels.
A few (way to many) examples:
And the worst wet kitten look? After the fight, when Rook leaves.
Its a look of shame. Of hurt. This man is hurting so badly.
Now here at the end we have that moment when Rook leads him to the coffin. His face turns down, like before. But here he looks up at Rook. He does not turn his eyes away but looks directly at them. Ahhh my heart.
Now, think about the fact that ROOK is leading in that moment?
In those moments where Rook leads or startles him (or is simply annoying enough so that the truth slips out), you see the most emotion from him.
Rooks flirting startles him, and he has a pikachu face reaction every time.
Their first kiss? Rook leans against the monument, and leans up, telling him without words that NOW is the time for a kiss. How can he not go for a second kiss?
That moment when Rook calls Manfred âour sonâ? He very conveniently ignores the word âOURâ and goes in defense mode over the word âsonâ. But called out on his feelings for Manfred? How can he deny them? He has tears in his voice when he says how he would not exchange this moment for anything? A real, deep emotion.
In their fight Emmrich is again all technical, all performance, so logical (or what he sells himself as logic). But Rook wrestles that moment from him and takes lead, calls him out on his bullshit.
In the crypt Rook pulls him up into a kiss and then leads him to the coffin, guiding him, taking him with them.
Most of the other times he takes the lead, very much in control. But the most emotions you get from him, are those times Rooks leads, when he lets go of this tight control over himself, or he is startled in to a reaction. For all the age difference that is played up in their relationship, in the important moments Rook is the one who guides. And he follows where they lead.
Those little moans he makes? If they did have sex before, I bet he did not make those sounds then. Where they did have some incredible sex, now they are making love. Open, vulnerable. He gives in.
And then they fall asleep together. Skin to skin, arms and legs intertwined. Their hands caressing, no sound but that of their heartbeats and soft breaths. Pure and utter contentment. In that moment nothing exists but them. Can you imagine that moment he woke up? The amount of emotions he must have felt then? This need to speak those little words? Those huge little words. He does not say them, not yet. But he is almost ready. Â
Finally, they stand there, on the battlefield of Elgarânans madness. And he tells Rook. The last wall falls. Gives the most precious thing he can give to anyone.
âI love you.â

chimichangas
part two of "jim beam"
CW: suggestive, profanity, Blind Al, takes place after the events of Deadpool 3, reader is going through some stuff, Logan is an animal, Wade is Wade, etc.
"I see you found my stash," Althea smirked, poorly pouring you another glass of whiskey as you sat down at the table.
"Sorry," you sighed, taking a swig. "If I'd known you could tell, I would've asked."
She cocked a brow with a smirk, and you let out a half-hearted chuckle.
She could read you surprisingly well for a blind woman.
"Yeah, no, I wouldn't."
She smiled as she poured herself her own drink, but when the silence settled, she could tll your expression had fell.
"All right, what's on your mind?" she sighed, almost like an order as she pulled up a chair.
You scoffed.
"I don't know what you're talking about."
"It may have been a while since I've actually talked woman to woman, but I can still tell when something's up," she nodded, taking a sip from her glass. "And judgin' by the way you're downin' that drink, I'd say it's man troubles."
You nearly choked on your liquor, and she let out a quiet chuckle.
"Of course not. It's not him at all," you quickly assured, not wanting the woman to get the wrong idea. "Logan has been amazing. And if anything... it's me troubles."
She smiled, attempting to reach out and touch your hand, but missed.
By a whole lot.
"I'm all ears."
You didn't know what it was, be it her elderly charm or her comforting presence, but something about her just made you feel like spilling your guts.
You sighed, taking a deep breath before deciding to start from the beginning.
"My power allows me to see the future," you looked down at your drink, solemnly. "Be it seconds or minutes or days, you name it, I can see it... so long as my power is activated."
"Okay..." Althea nodded in understandig.
"But that night... the night everything went to shit... I was asleep... I couldn't see the Sentinels coming."
You squeezed your glass, the self-loathing clawing at your throat like an angry tomcat.
"I tried to save the kids... but it wasn't long before everyone was gone... and I was taken captive."
Your voice quaked, hands trembling as fragmented memories of the bloodshed flashed in your mind.
"I can't remember much after that... and Wade won't tell me the details of what happened to me in that laboratory. But after who knows how long in that chamber I'm stuck in this new world with no way to get back to mine and I just can't help but wonder if I'd just been awake that night then maybe... my family would still be alive... my home wouldn't be destroyed..."
You turned to her, eyes glassy as you sniffled.
"My Logan... not so guilty about what happened..."
Althea sighed, her hand finally finding yours and giving it a reassuring squeeze.
"Honey..." she started, her tone warm and forgiving. "Guilt is one of those feelings that feeds on the pain you give it."
Her thumb smoothed over the back of your hand, bringing a sort of grandmotherly comfort to your heart.
"You can't turn back the clock... but you can decide whether you're gonna let this feeling hold you back, or show you the strength you need to keep on living."
You sighed, knowing her words were true, yet still hearing that nagging voice in the back of your mind.
Maybe it's time to leave the past in the past...
"It's Chimichanga Time, bitches!" Wade suddenly exclaimed, bursting through Al's apartment door and striking a pose, waving the take-out bags around theatrically.
"Motherfucker!" Althea jolted, snatching a gun from under the table and taking aim...
Directly at the wall.
Muffling your snickers, you carefully pushed her hand the right way, changing her target to Wade's chest rather than the door frame.
"Jazz hands?" you raised a brow, turning to the man.
"I believe the politically correct term is spirit fingers," he corrected, mater-of-factly. "Times have changed, my dear (y/n). Next thing you know you'll be old Al here a colored."
"The fuck did you just say to me?" Althea exclaimed.
"(n/n)'s words, not mine!"
"Will you shut the fuck up?" Logan groaned, snatching the bags from him and plopping them down on the table. "Eat your damn food and keep fuckin' quiet."
You stood from your chair, walking up to your man and pulling him into a hug.
"Hey, baby," you greeted, resting your head on his chest. "How was your day?"
His shoulders sank under your touch, all the anger melting away as he wrapped his arms around you, placing a tender kiss on your hairline.
"I'm just glad it's over," he sighed, resting his tired head against yours.
It was no secret to anyone that Logan had some serious anxiety when it came to leaving you places by yourself.
And it wasn't that he didn't trust in your ability to handle yourself, but rather he didn't trust the powers that be not to try and fuck his life over for the hundredth time.
Granted, he couldn't really help it when he had to go to work, or assist Wade with his post-breakup, mercenary bullshit...
But that didn't mean he had to like it.
"M'sorry," you cooed, cupping his cheek in your hand. "If you want we canâ"
Suddenly, it felt like all the air was snatched out of your lungs, the image of a bunch of thugs flashing in your mind, along with the door being broken down.
It was your first vision since being in the chamber.
"(n/n)?" Logan asked, worry spiking up his chest as he lifted your chin. "You alright?"
'Althea!'
Five seconds...
"GET DOWN!" you shouted, quickly kicking over the table and shoving Al behind it just as the men kicked open the door.
Quickly, Wade grabbed a cast-iron skillet off the stove, slamming it over the head of the first grunt to rush in before using it to deflect a shotgun.
"Behind the couch! Now!" Logan barked, shoving himself in front of you and unsheathing his claws as bullets began ricocheting around the room
You dropped to the ground without argument, army crawling away to safety.
And once you were secure, Logan went off, letting out a roar of anger as he charged into the fight.
They come into his home... in his safe haven... and try and take his reason for living?
Heads. Were. Going. To. Roll.
Wade slid across the kitchen counter under the heavy gunfire, grabbing the knife block before flipping over the edge, tossing a steak knife into a man's neck before finishing him off with a bread knife to the dick.
Logan launched himself at the one with the shotgun, not even flinching as a chunk of his shoulder was blown off, still plunging his claws into the man's chest.
Clocking the grunt coming up behind him, he quickly whipped around, sending an uppercut straight through his head.
Out of nowhere, one of the thugs popped up with an AK-47, completely spraying the couch while Wade handled the dumbass with the baseball bat.
'(Y/N)!'
"RAAAAAAH!" Logan bellowed, furious, as he sprinted toward the one responsible, tanking countless bullets before slicing the gun to pieces and proceeding to absolutely maul the poor bastard.
Wade hit Baseball Douche in the face with the knife block before dodging a swing, stabbing him in the chest with a butcher's knife before turning around and throwing it at the head of a man going for Althea.
But when he whipped around to finish off Baseball Douche, Logan was already there, stabbing him right through the head and spraying blood all over Wade's face.
"Oh, God! Oh, God, time out!" he whined, dropping to his knees as he covered his face. "Got bad guy blood right in my open eye. Oh, that is gross..."
As the dust began to settle, it became eerily quiet, all the enemies seemingly dead.
"(n/n)?" Logan panted, chest heaving and heart panicked as he glanced around. "(y/n)?"
Slowly, you rose from behind the couch, unharmed.
"I'm okay," you assured, a little shaken up, but otherwise alright.
"Althea," Wade sang, wiping his eye with his shirt. "Are you dead?"
"I wish," she groaned, hoisting herself up from behind the table.
Without another word, Logan sped toward you, retracting his claws before pulling you into a bone crushing embraceâone you reciprocated with just as, if not more, relief.
"I thought I lost you again," he exhaled, relishing the way you felt in his arms, hands sliding all over you to squeeze what could've been taken away from him.
"I'm right here, Logan," you cooed, carding your hand through his scruffy hair as he nuzzled his face into your neck, breathing in your scent. "I'm right here..."
Though, unknowingly to the other, you both were going through your own forms of consolation.
You had protected your family from a tragedy you couldn't before.
He had saved you from the fate that befell countless others from his past.
Both were beginning to realize that maybe this new life really could be different.
Working together to protect and save one another...
Learning to love without fear of separation...
Forgiving the past mistakes that made you who you are today...
Growth that could only be attributed to absolute trust in each other.
"Heyo!" Wade gasped, a smile stretching on his face as he stared at the ground. "The Chimichanga Gods have spoken."
The rest of you turned to face him, watching as he fished a bloody take-out bag out from under the body of a dead manâwho looked like he had mush for a face.
"Tonight... we feast."
"You are fucking disgusting."

àš âĄ à§ DOES YOUR CRUSH LIKE YOU BACK? à§
Hello everyone! Happy December and welcome to another pick a card. This pick a card reading is all about your crush and whether or not they like you back. Feedback, likes and reblogs help me grow my platform and are highly appreciated! If you liked this reading, please consider tipping me at @ [email protected] paypal! xo âĄ
INSTAGRAM à YOUTUBE à MASTERLIST à PAYHIP
âș Â Â none of the images are mine unless stated otherwise. âș Â Â personal readings are available!
HOW TO CHOOSE YOUR PILE. Â take a few deep breaths and look at each picture separately. see which one brings you to a feeling, a place or a memory. take your time and feel free to come back to it later!
đđđđ đđđ àŒ â§ guardian of the memory.
king of swords, five of pentacles, seven of swords rx. bottom of the deck: two of cups.
This is such an interesting pile and I do not say that very often. So, your channeled song is a very, very dear song to me which is from a game soundtrack, it's traditional Chinese, but the story is about a mermaid and a time lord who fall in love. She gives up their memories of each other to save their lives, so they eventually forget one another and once they re-encounter, there are bitter feelings and they dislike each other, but there's a lingering feeling of something familiar, something more, something which they do not acknowledge or cannot express, despite the ambiguity and the coldness of their relationship.
For your crush, they may have rejected you, but much like the story from the song, it's getting hard to deny that they like you, that there is something more. This person cannot stop thinking about you and the truth is starting to come out. If they have treated you coldly, ignored you or simply seemed aloof, it is because they're trying to distance themselves from these feelings. Your crush may have self-sabotaging tendencies. To some, I'm picking up their love language is sarcasm (lol).
This person tends to be more on the rational side, they could be an air sun, rising or mercury and therefore, it's hard to pick up on their feelings. No wonder why you're here, pile one! But rest assured, their feelings are catching up to them and it won't be long until this person realizes the feelings are very, very mutual. Yes, they do like you back - just wait a little until they come to terms with it.
channeled songs and messages. mutual by shawn mendes, avoidant, left on read, 5:55, on your door, drive by, 2016, instagram filters, situationship, "i need to know", "in my feels", drake, rap, kendrick, fool for you.
đđđđ đđđ àŒ â§ never gonna give you up.
the well, knight of pentacles, three of swords. bottom of the deck: judgement.
You're not getting rick-rolled, pile two. The song above is a cover by Hazlett, with a very gentle, soothing melody. Yes, this person does like you back but they are recovering from a very painful heartbreak. Although they want to come towards you, they're taking their sweet time because they don't want to make the same mistakes.
When this person loves, they love deeply, they pour and pour onto others. This time around, they want to make sure this connection is worthwhile. This person is not looking for a fling, for a one night stand or a situationship. They want something solid but they're evaluating you first in order to make sure this new love won't bring back old feelings.
They could be going through a major change in their life and for most of the people in this pile, it seems an internal change. They want to make sure they've learnt from their lessons and will not dive into anything headfirst. Therefore, expect slow movement for this person. If you're okay with that, then it shouldn't be a problem. Approach them with pure intentions and honesty. Try to show them you have character, that you can be a good friend and partner to those around you. They do not like mind games and want something stable, long-term for themselves.
channeled songs and messages. mature, old enough, "your man", r&b, bruno mars, "got game", bouquet, flowers, knight in shining armor, traditionally masculine, beard, dark brown hair, side profile, drawings, 777.
đđđđ đđđđđ àŒ â§ just to feel your touch.
six of cups, four of wands, page of pentacles, the star. bottom of the deck: wheel of fortune.
So many cards wanted to pop out, lol. You even got an extra one. So, this pile is oddly specific and may not resonate with everyone. Therefore, if it's the case, please feel free to choose another pile!
This crush of yours is someone you have known for quite some time, years or at least seven, eight months. They could be close to your family or you and this person feels like home to you, they bring you safety and comfort. This may also be a queer relationship and therefore there's hesitation, hopeful thinking involved.
Both of you are too scared to cross the line at this point because there's no telling what the future will hold. You are mirroring each other, worried about blurring the lines between romance and friendship because there are some risks involved - your family or theirs may not approve, you'll face prejudice or straight up be rejected by one another (even though both of you are on the same page). Maybe they're in a relationship and you don't want to be disrespectful.
Regardless of the specifics, this person does like you back, very, very much. You fill them with fondness and soft feelings. Whatever the future holds is not yours to control. This relationship is very positive and healing. The odds are in your favor, pile three!
channeled songs and messages. "best thing", "mine", country songs, 2006, 2007, nostalgia, childhood, y2k, banter, play fighting, youtube, camera records, liminal spaces, weirdcore, nostalgiacore.
đđđđ đ
đđđ àŒ â§ always thinking about you.
death, the hanged man, the hierophant, ten of cups. bottom of the deck: the magician rx.
This is another highly specific scenario, so take only what resonates for you. It seems your crush is already in an established relationship already, some kind of commitment that makes them very happy. Regardless, they do not really know how to feel about you, pile four, to be honest. You may be the third party in this situation and they may have promised to end their relationship to be with you, but this person is procrastinating making a decision between you and someone else.
There is trickery, deception and not-so-pure intentions here. If they are single, then this person may have alluded to something more with you, perhaps a family, or a relationship, something stable and long-term, but they do not intend to follow through. While you may have had something, their feelings for you have changed and they're not being quite honest about it.
I get a really two-faced feeling from this pile. This person could do and say something, but do something entirely different in the next. Even the channeled song says "I'm making for the door / you're making other plans". They could be trying to juggle you or someone else, as I mentioned, but it seems like they've got other plans and they're not being fully honest with you about it. I'm sorry, pile four, you deserve better!
channeled songs and messages. "double talk", secrecy, obsession, the devil, "what are you up to?", moving on, doe eyes, gemini, libra, taurus, aquarius, baby on the way.

A Proper Date: Viktor x Reader
Summary: Viktor wants to take you out on a proper date. Sequel to my fic "The Handsome Assistant."
Words: 1.2k
Warnings: mostly just fluff, some mentions of suggestive stuff towards the end
Author's Notes: Reworked my Arcane masterlist to reflect the reading order for my Vik fics that are in the same continuity, and future fics will now be added to it in the correct order. Thank you guys for all the love it really means the world to me!
-
Life is sweet ever since Viktorâs been in itâand even more so now that you get to kiss him every day.
In all honestly, your routine hasnât drastically changed. You still distract each other at work way too much, and he still keeps you in conversation long past when you should go home. But now you also stop by each otherâs apartments, cook for each other, and spend late nights together in the Academy library and labs working on projects.
Your roommates love him, letting him in even if youâre out doing errands at the moment. Today is one of those days, a bright smile stretching across your face when you see him upon arriving home.
âViktor!â you drop your things and skip into his arms. You look down and see heâs dressed up a bit more than usual, and your eyebrows scrunch in confusion. âWhatâs the occasion?â
âIâve been wanting to take you on a proper date,â he says. âWe can go whenever youâre ready.â
âVik, you know I donât need fancy datesââ
âHush.â he presses a finger to your lips. âGo put on something nice, alright?â
You nod, rushing back to your room to change. You meant what you said, you really havenât minded never having a âproperâ date. Neither of you make a ton of money, really just enough to live on and maybe a tiny bit leftover, so youâve never expected to be taken out to restaurants or really any sort of activity you have to pay for. Most times your dates are making dinner for each other after work, Viktor making you the delicious recipes of his ancestors, mainly. Other times you just people-watch out in the city, chatting about anything and everything. You honestly would do anything with him no matter what it was.
Viktorâs eyes soften at the sight of you when you return to him, taking your hand to leave.
When you approach where youâre going, your grip on his hand tightens and your jaw drops.
âViktor, you didnâtâŠâ
Your gaze falls onto one of the fanciest restaurants in Piltover, complete with live music and an open ceiling with a perfect view of the stars, both things he knows you love.
âViktor, this is too much,â you whisper, still flabbergasted. âI would never ask you to pay for a place like this.â
âWhat makes you think you would have to ask?â he chuckles, pulling you inside. âIâve been saving up to take you somewhere nice.â
The inside is truly gorgeous, no doubt full of decorative items that are worth twice everything you own. The live bandâs sound fills the entire room, setting a soft mood for a night under the sky. You feel entirely out of place, looking at everyone around you, but your eyes always return to Viktor, whoâs looking at you like youâre the only thing of value in sight.
He insists that you order anything you want, of course, despite your protests. He wants to treat you, and eventually you have to accept that.
When you finish eating and the restaurant winds down to close, he asks the waitress something that you donât quite catch while youâre listening to the last song. Viktor hands her quite a decent tip, then motions for you to follow her.
She leads you both to the back of the restaurant, passing multiple signs that say âStaff Only,â then finally gesturing to a tall flight of stairs.
âUp there,â she says. âDonât stay too long though, I could get in big trouble if youâre caught.â
Viktor thanks her and she leaves the two of you alone.
âI...may have convinced her to let us go to the roof.â he smirks.
You glance back at the stairs, âVik, you really donât have to do this for me.â
âIâll be fine, donât worry,â he assures you. âJust...go slow.â
The amount of stairs is ludicrous, but itâs not too long before you reach the top and open the door to the beautiful starry night.
You go as close to the edge as you can without falling, craning your neck to look at the miraculous view. Viktor is close behind, wrapping his arms around your waist and pulling you back.
âCareful, darling,â he mumbles into your shoulder, kissing it before looking up for himself.
You stare in silence for several minutes, Viktor still holding you close.
âCan we live up here?â
He chuckles, âThat might be too high a request, Iâm afraid,â he nuzzles his nose into your hair. âBut I assure you, someday I will give you a place with a view like this.â
You turn around, surprised by the unwavering authenticity in his features. Youâve only been together for a few months now, was he really already thinking about a future with you?
âViktorââ
His expression quickly changes into one of panic, âMy apologies, I didnât mean to be so forwardââ
âNo, Viktor,â you wrap your arms around his neck, your faces inches apart. âIâd like that someday too.â
-
Sneaking back out goes smoother than you expected, and Viktor insists on walking you home as usual. Thereâs a warmth to your heartbeat, a welcome contrast to the chill outside. You canât believe he went through all the trouble to arrange this night for you, genuinely wanting to surprise you with something extravagant.
When you arrive to your apartment, Viktor walks in with you when youâre met with quite the sight on the couch. Your roommate, Eli, is snuggled up with Sevika, and your snickering quickly wakes them up.
âIf I had known you were having a date night too, I wouldâve stayed out with Vik longer,â you laugh.
âWell we were going to go to my room, but someone fell asleep on the couch,â Eli nudges Sevika.
âHmmph,â Sevika grunts, too groggy to properly retaliate.
âWeâll leave you be, then,â you giggle all the way back to your room, pulling Viktor behind you.
âThose two are certainly...something,â Viktor says as you close the door.
âIâm just glad theyâre happy,â you shrug. âAnywayâsorryâI didnât even ask you if you wanted to stay. You can go home if youâd like. Just maybe close your eyes walking back through the living roomâŠâ
âNo, no. Iâd like to stay.â he nods.
âOkay.â you sigh, slowly coming to the realization that this will be the first night youâve spent together. Itâs a bit terrifying, if youâre honest, no matter how much you love him.
You continue, avoiding his gaze, âBut just so you know, Iâm not ready yet toâumâŠâ
Viktor takes your face in his hands as you drift off, âYou donât have to explain yourself, love. I would be more than happy to simply sleep next to you tonight.â
You nod, most of your anxieties subsiding.
You borrow some pajamas from your roommates that would fit him, then get changed yourself. Your bed certainly isnât meant for two people, but you both snuggle in well enough to be comfortable. You rest your head on his chest, listening to his heartbeat.
Viktor rubs your arms and back, pressing kisses to your head. Holding you long after youâve fallen asleep and his own arms have gone a bit numb.
He smiles at your stirs and snores, your fists gripping him closer the further you drift. He may never be able to go back to sleeping alone after experiencing this.
âSomeday...Iâll give you everything you could ever want.â he whispers, closing his eyes.

number neighbor â lee donghyuck đđ
in which haechan follows the trend of texting your number neighbor determined to make them his friend
part thirteen
ââ đđ
haechan arrived to your location with an embarrassing quickness. as the time passed between you two he started to see you more often. started going to doctors appointments with you, making sure everything was alright with you. you were finally medicated and learned a healthy sleeping schedule, haechan had been through every step of that process with you.
he would drag you on random âdatesâ for the fun of it and made sure no matter where he went you were always by his side. you always tried to pretend you hated his clinginess but him and everyone around you knew you loved him just as much as he loved you. haechan quickly grew comfortable with your reserved personality and knew exactly how your emotions worked. he knew when you were fed up and he knew when you were content, he always managed to stay between both of those lines.
haechan continued to make random songs about you and send them to you at three in the morning. he loved your opinions on his songs, and he always wondered if you knew they were about you.
you grew more as a person socially with haechan around, you truly didnât have any friends before him due to the fact of you being too tired to care for any. around the time haechan texted you, you were genuinely fed up with being so alone but you never wanted to admit it. in some way haechan felt like a gift from the universe, they knew you needed him and he came crashing down to save you.
as the months passed you already realized your one year âneighborversaryâ was approaching quickly. you kept the date in your head wanting to surprise haechan once the day came. so here you were sitting in the park you two went to often on your spontaneous dates, looking over at the pond haechan loves so much.
âneighbor?â haechan spoke out from behind you, joining you on the bench as if he already knew exactly where to find you, âhey.â you nervously spoke as he sat next to you, admiring the ducks in the pond. he looked at your face taking in your nervous-looking expression, âwhatâs wrong?â
ânothing at all.â you blatantly lied, starting to regret wanting to confess your feelings in person, âyouâre lying neighbor, tell me whatâs wrong. itâs okay if you forgot out our neighborversary you know, iâm not that mad.â he attempted to assure you, not knowing the real issue at hand. âthatâs not whatâs wrong with me, haechan.â
âthen what is it? i can read your face but not your mind you know.â
âwhen i say this i need you to shut up, okay? i know how you are and i know how youâd respond.â
âwould you just tell me already? i promise iâll be normal.â
âthatâs exactly what iâm afraid of, haechan.â

(Platonic) Reactions To Finding Out You're In Hell For Killing Your Abuser [Angel, Lucifer, Alastor, Vox]
TW: Mentions of childhood sexual abuse | Cannon typical violence | Mentions of suicide
A/n: this one is really dark so reader discretion is greatly advised. Read at your own risk.
Word Count: 4.5k
Angel Dust
You and Angel Dust likely met at the hotel. You were a newer resident of hell that just so happened to be spotted by Charlie and taken in after wondering the streets.
He didn't take to you right away, considering he had his own issues to deal with. Not to mention that you were such a goody two shoes that it kinda made him feel even worse about himself. Despite his name he knew he was far from any angel and your presence only exemplified that.
By all accounts you seemed to save your shit together. A drug free, pure and kind person, through and through. You never faltered. So it takes a while for him to even stand being in your presence, longer to actually try and talk with you. He hates that he doesn't find something to hate about you. Just so damn perfect.
He should have known better, truthfully. No one gets sent to hell off a whim, there were reasons. He was just so blinded by your purity at first that he doesn't see it. He isn't the only one, either. Charlie would be the first to use you as an example of purity.
But all the same the two of you do end up getting close to each other. You may be a bit straight-laced for his taste, but he can't help but grow attached. You're a good kid, you really don't deserve to be here.
It only takes one night for his perceptions of you to shatter
It started with one of Charlie's trust games. You were all meant to share what sins brought you down here. In a place like hell that wasn't usually a very taboo subject. Murder, drugs, sex, Angel's heard it all. But despite that assurance you wanted absolutely nothing to do with the exercise. You had locked yourself in your room, refusing to participate. So while the others went on ahead Angel decided he'd talk to you.
âKid! Câmon, it can't be that bad!â
âI don't want to!â You were adamant. He should have known it right then
âKidâŠlook, can ya at least let me in? I'm tired of yelling through the door!â He pleaded and, to his surprise, you did. Your eyes avoided him completely as you allowed him to step in the room. Even when the two of you sat down on your bed you didn't budge. You looked almost as terrified as the first day you came here.
âLook, I get that admittinâ what you done can be a bitâŠembarrassinâ sometimes,â he's tries to calm you.
âBut none of us are perfect and you ain't any different. Hell, it might even be good for youâ his attempt at comfort didn't seem to be working. In fact he might have made it worse, given how you turned further away from him.
âItâs not just because it's embarrassing! I- I just don't want to tell everyone!â you answer through a tightening voice. There's a pause as Angel considers your words before he speaks again.
âThen you don't gotta tell everyone. You can just tell meâ He was surprised when the offer had you turning back to him, though your discomfort was still evident. You didn't say anything at first but eventually you found the words.
â...Promise you won't tell anybody?â he fought the urge to roll his eyes. He was sure you were being overdramatic. You probably told a little lie that got out of control or accidentally kicked a puppy or-
âPromiseâ he answered anyway.
And so you told him
âIâŠI was tired of him touching meâ Angelâs stomach immediately drops at just those few words. All of his previous downplaying caused an explosion of guilt within him.
âHe was always touching. Every day since I was little. Every time he was over, every time I was alone. I couldn't- IâŠI just wanted it to be overâ
He knew where this was going.
âI-I snapped. I just couldn't take it anymore. Eighteen fucking yearsâ your voice is a mix of rage and pain, a sound he didn't think you capable of until now.
âI'd never been so angry. I didn't- I didn't know what I was doing until it was over. There was blood everywhere- I killed him andâŠand I couldn't live with myself. I'd never done something like that before! I'd never hurt anyone! I couldn't live with that- I couldn't-â
Before you can spiral any further you feel Angels hand land on yours. With slow, purposeful movements he pulled you into his arms. You freeze for a moment, caught entirely off guard by the sudden comfort. He was careful not to hold you too tight and keep his breaths steady. Keep himself predictable.
âSâokay kidâŠYou didn't do a damn thing wrongâ his whispered words break through your shock, melting you into a pile of sobs in his arms, gripping onto him like your very soul depended on it.
After that night the two of you quickly become known for your fierce protectiveness over each other. Angel swears that if he ever sees the bastard he'll rip him a new asshole before shoving a spike in it.
Lucifer Morningstar
You were one of many assistants to Lucifer, helping him with the many tasks he doesn't ever keep up with as the king of hell. You are most likely ignored and/or forgotten about for a while. He is far too, uhâŠbusy for remembering much of anything, let alone names and job titles.
However you do manage to catch his eyes when he finally notices your apparent lack of any sort of social life in hell. Unlike the others he has working for him who seem all too happy to indulge in hells many depraved luxuries, you aren't one of them.
It triggers his curiosity, so he starts to remember your name and even manages to strike up conversations with you that don't sound like he's desperately trying to remember who he's even talking to.
You begin to be the first person he goes to when he needs something done and in turn you go to him when you need something as well. It's never anything too much, he notices. Always just small tasks that take him almost no effort at all. But you seem to beam at even the smallest kindness.
But then there is that ill-fated nightâŠ
It was late and you were still hard at work in your office.
Or at least you would have been, if you didn't feel like the weight of everything was weighing down on you as you stared down the two items Lucifer had left for you. A small note and a tiny rubber duck. You kept re-reading the note over and over again.
âYou're a good kid, Y/n. Keep it upâ
The small gesture had formed a sickening guilt in you. You were the farthest thing from good. What you had done rightfully landed you in the shithole you belonged in. You didn't deserve his kindness, let alone his care. You felt so guilty for ever allowing him to think that you-
A knock at your door has you quickly wiping away your tears. Before you can say anything he opens it, his wide smile falling immediately.
âOh no, what-â he pauses when he sees the death grip you have on the rubber duck he'd gifted, your eyes unable to even glance at him. He gives a nervous laugh at that. It sounds more worried than anything.
âYou uh- don't like the gift, I take it?â At that your head whips to look at him, an attempt to calm your nerves written all over your face.
âNo! No that's not-âŠnoâ your frantic words die down quickly as you quickly turn away again, unable to look the man in the eyes. There is a long silence that feels almost like an eternity passing. Then, to your complete surprise, he slowly pulls up a chair next to you, his eyes not turning from you for even a moment.
âDo youâŠmaybe wanna talk about what it is then?â His voice is disarming, a mix of poorly feigned calm and genuine concern. It frightens you how quickly he makes you want to spill your guts.
âIt's- Iâm not-â You pause, trying to collect your words. You know then that you can't bear to tell him anything but the truth.
âI don't deserve thisâ you gesture to the toy and his letter. He doesn't seem to understand.
âYou? Y/n, you're practically the only reason I get any work done around here! The least I can do is this, truly. Why wouldn't you deserve it?â His tone is full of disbelief, almost entirely sure that you must be avoiding telling him the entire truth.
âBecause it isn't trueâ the bluntness of your words catches him off guard.
âI killed him andâŠand it felt good when I did it. It felt good to hurt him like he hurt me, it felt good being in control. It didn't feel bad when I put that knife through his throat, It didn't feel bad when I finally got him to stop touching me. It didn'tâŠuntil it was overâ the tears that had brimmed at your eyes fell like rivers, your attempts to wipe them away fruitless. You didn't dare look him in the eye, even as you continued.
âThere was so much blood. IâŠI didn't know what to do. I- I didn't mean- no, no I did. But I just couldn't live with it. I couldn't live knowing that I killed him and that all I could think about was that he'd never touch me again! I couldn't-!â your words are cut off by the feeling of arms wrapping around you. For a moment you freeze, confused and horrified by the action, that is until the comfort of it seeps into you, knowing that the hands that held you now meant no harm. After that you sobbed into him.
Only once you'd calmed your sobs to hiccups and your grip loosened did he finally pull away. But he didn't go far and his eyes looked at you with nothing but pure concern.
âYou listen to me, okay? I would never hold that against you. I couldn't if I tried. You did what you had to and I trust that you did it for the right reasonsâ his words of forgiveness strike through you, hitting you directly in your wounded heart. Never before had you believed anyone could look so kindly upon you knowing what you'd done.
After that day Lucifer had become quite father-like to you, treating you just like he would his own kid. You practically become an honorary Morningstar.
Alastor
You and Alastor have anâŠinteresting relationship. the two of you very likely met at the hotel, considering he wouldn't have given you a second glance otherwise. You were, after all, just one of the many other souls, and not an impressive one at that. Meek, young and weak.
It takes a long while for Alastor to warm up to you, most likely because you avoid him at all cost. You learn quickly that Alastor doesn't like being avoided like that when he begins to follow you around.
It's through conversation that he grows interested in you. When you aren't blinded by your fear he's actually a great conversationalist, especially when he's alone with you. It seems almost like he drops a bit of his guard as well, something you explain away as you being of zero threat to him. The two of you often talk of your plans for the day and whatever latest idea Charlie has conjured. Small talk, for the most part. Never anything personal
Which is why you are so caught off guard when he asks the truthfully inevitable question.
It was a usual calm morning in the hotel kitchen. A bit of smooth jazz played from an old radio, the coffee machine churned, the constant static from Alastor flowed through the room and the sound of idle chit-chat passed between the two of you. Besides the fact that no one else joined the two of you, it all seemed relatively normal.
âI must say, for someone in Hell you have quite the kind heart, my dear. One might even ask how you managed to get yourself down hereâ Alastors words cause your heart to sink almost immediately. Your body tenses, your breathing catching for just a moment. You make sure to keep your eyes on the coffee pot and manage to give him a halfhearted laugh. But you know the moment he goes quiet for just that second too long that he noticed.
âHow did you end up down here, if you don't mind telling me?â You feel your tongue go dry, your jaw clench, your entire being beg to leave this conversation. But you knew there wasn't a chance in all of Hell that you'd get out of this. If he didn't get an answer now he'd be sure to get one later.
âI uhâŠâ you start, nausea threatening to crawl in.
âI don't knowâ you try to answer, hoping beyond hope that it would satisfy him.
It did not.
âNow now, one mustn't feel the need to lie to friends. I assure you I've seen worse than whatever it is you managed to do!â You pause at his words, finally turning over your shoulder to look at him.
âWeâreâŠfriends?â You ask, surprised to see him look almost just as confused by your words.
âWhy of course! The both of us have quite nice talks with one another, why wouldn't we be?â He seems so confident as he speaks. Despite how skeptical you've been ever since meeting him, you can't help but feel that he might genuinely be growing on you. Fuck, you might even trust the guy. Not with your soul, mind you, but you were sure at least your words would be safe with him.
âOut with it then, what got you sent down to this lovely pit of fire and brimstone?â his tone is jovial and light, not taking this nearly as seriously as you felt he should be. You were weirded out when it actually helped you calm down a little.
âWellâŠâ should you tell him? Would he even care? Would he blink an eye at your suffering? Would he laugh at you? All the possibilities ran through your head at once.
When you finally turned to face him he gave you an expectant look, fully anticipating an answer from you. So you took a deep breath and turned your head to gaze at a nearby wall before beginning.
âMy uncle, he umâŠwell he didn't really know how to keep his hands to himself. Ever since I first met the man he wouldn't keep his damn hands off me. Then mom died and I had to live with him andâŠâ you pause a moment, trying to keep yourself together. With a deep breath you continued.
âHe never stopped touching me. No one believed me, no one did anything. Not when I was eight, or ten, or fifteen. Not after either. I was just alone with him. Every day of every month of every yearâŠuntil I couldn't take it anymoreâ your voice was quiet now, just above a whisper to keep it from shaking.
âI was cooking dinner when he came behind me and-âŠI snapped andâŠwell I'm not really sure. I just remember being covered in blood and knowing that no one would believe me. So I did what I thought was the only thing I could do. Next thing I knew I found out I had been damned for all eternityâ you hugged yourself in an attempt at comfort that wasn't working. You managed, by the smallest effort, to keep your tears in and your breath steady, but you knew you'd break at any moment. When you turned to him, his smile still plastered and staring blankly at you, you thought you just might have done so then. So you quickly turned back around to save yourself the embarrassment.
âBut yeah. Pretty sure that's why I'm here-â
âThat was quite brave of youâ his words shock you still enough that you might have even felt your heart stop. Your head snaps back to him in an instant, unsure if you'd heard him right. He's standing now, smile just a little less wide and leaning on his cane. If you didn't know any better you might have mistaken it for a look of uncanny care.
âWhat?â You whisper the word. He stands a little taller at that.
âWhen the world stops caring then one must simply make it. Very few do so, and so I applaud your effort in taking fate into your own handsâ he is serious, almost deathly so. His words arenât what you expected, but they are actually some of the most comforting you'd ever heard. Not only because he believed you, but because he truly believed you'd done the right thing.
â...Thank youâ his smile widens again and you catch how ever so slightly bigger his antlers have gotten and the small flicks of green that seem to only show in your peripheral. You choose not to say anything about it.
âOf course! Now I simply must be on my way! There is much to do and so little time. Have a pleasant rest of your morning!â he was out the door before you even realized he was leaving. You would have said goodbye yourself if you didn't know he was already gone. And without his coffee too!
After this little incident Alastor seems almost tied at your hip. You are warned time and time again not to get too close to him but after the way he took the news of your sin you honestly don't think you could push him away. He was the first person you'd ever told in Hell, the first person to ever believe you. And given how keen he is on keeping you safe both in and out of the hotel you are quite happy to call him a friend.
Vox
The only way you'd be able to get even a second glance from Vox is if you worked for him and, let's be real, he couldn't have given less of a shit about you when he first met you. You were one out of thousands that worked on his many, many projects. You were lucky if he ever even read your name, let alone remembered it.
It takes quite the circumstance for him to notice you and it's likely only because of very selfish reasons. Maybe he picks you out of the crowd as a gag at first. The big CEO talking to this meek little low life, giving them a glance at something they'll never achieve.
But Vox has a way of getting attached to the strangest things sometimes and you end up being among them. Maybe it's the way you go along with whatever he's saying, playing to his ego. Maybe it's the way he knows you don't mean a single word and he feels he has to prove himself. Or maybe he just liked having a bit of a babyface around to impress. Either way, he ends up kind of taking you in.
You become a sort of protege to Vox as he teaches you all about his company and how to run it; mostly so he can hand you the tasks of the day that he doesn't feel like handling. You're a secretary of sorts. He does, however, try to keep a distance between you and the other Vâs. Mostly because he knows they can be a bit much and he doesn't want to scare you off just yet.
But it's inevitable that you would meet them someday. And, as he expected, the first meeting didn't go very well.
You and Vox were on your way down the hall in the middle of idle conversation that was mostly work related. You liked having these conversations with him, mostly because he always seemed so pleased when you'd give him an idea he liked or a change he'd consider. You felt useful in a way you hadn't really ever felt before-
âMy my, if it isn't Vox and his new little petâ the voice speaks behind you and both you and Vox turn to see who it is. You are set on edge when Vox gets suddenly nervous.
âVal! I thought you had work down in the studio today?â Voxâs voice booms in the way you know he only does when he's trying to keep his cool. You make sure to stand a little closer to him when Val walks up to the two of you.
âYou've been hiding from me, love. So I figured I'd pay a visit. Good thing tooâ the moth man leans down to you so close you feel your entire being beg to disappear.
âI wouldnât have met the darling that's been keeping Voxy so occupied. Cosita bonitaâ he looks down at you, his smile alone sending a cold shiver up your spine. He grabs your hand and instead of doing anything normal like shaking or kissing it, he instead begins to lick up your arm.
âRumor has it your little fall from grace betrays how sweet as you lookâ Horrified and feeling very familiar fear consume your being, you freeze up. Luckily, and rather surprisingly, Vox very quickly pulls him away from you.
âAlright, alright that's enough of that!â his tone is that of a light reprimand, though the swirls in his eyes betray him. He effortlessly spins the moth man around in something similar to a dance, ending with the two of them facing away from you. Whispered words are exchanged, Val glancing back at you for only a moment afterwards before walking off with no complaint.
Vox straightens his suit, his performative smile falling for a moment before turning back to you.
âLet's get back on our wayâ he beckons you as he continues to walk. You follow along, compliant as ever. He leads you to an elevator where the two of you get in and he clicks whatever floor he'd decided he had work on. You think everything is relatively normal until, with a wave of his hand, the elevator stops.
âWhat did he mean?â The question confuses you.
â...about what?â You ask, unsure what he was getting at. He turns to you.
âAbout your âfall from grace', what was he getting at?â the realization dawns on you the same way acid would drip into an old wound. There was really only one thing that could mean and the fact that a man you'd never met knew enough to mention it made you sick to your stomach.
âKid?â He calls to you and it's only then you notice tears build in your eyes. You quickly blink them away before making sure to avoid looking in his general direction.
âIâŠdon't knowâ you tried, very unconvincingly, to feign ignorance. Unfortunately that didn't go over well with him.
âI don't think I've met a worse liar in the entirety of Hell than youâ he states plainly and you can't help but agree. You hadn't really ever had practice in the field. Yet even with his call on your bullshit you chose to stay silent.
âLook, If Val knows then chances are I'm finding out anyway. He's not exactly great at keeping his mouth shutâ he tries to convince an answer out of you but his words only make it worse. You didn't want that creep to know in the first place! But, being ever so horrible at keeping such a cold front up, you break under his gaze.
âItâs why I'm in Hellâ you start off vague and you notice how he leans in just a bit closer.
âSeriously? That's what's got you upset? What, was it embarrassing? Because believe me, I'm sure I've heard worseâ he was really trying to sell you that notion, what with the wide smile and undivided attention, but you couldn't help the nagging voice that told you he wouldn't believe you.
But still, you assumed it better he heard it from you than Val. After all, you and Vox were pretty close at this point. If there was anyone that you'd tell, it would be him.
âNo it's- well it is embarrassing, but-â you stammer a moment, trying to find the right way to say it. Soon enough you fix your eyes on the metal doors and just spill.
âI had an uncle. I lived with him for a while, most of my human life really. And he uhâŠI was just a kid at the time and he- he couldn't keep his hands to himself. Just keptâŠtouching me. For yearsâ the way the information pours out of you is forced. Like you have to pry it from your own mind and shove it out your throat. But there was no point stopping now.
âAnd then I just couldn't take it anymore. I don't even really know what happened. One second I was cooking dinner and the next he came behind me andâŠand then everything was bloody andâŠâ you trail for a moment, your mind brought back to that horrific memory. Without a thought you finally turn to Vox.
He looks completely deflated, stripped of that egocentric smile of his and leaving nothing but a shocked still expression in its place. His mouth hangs slightly open as if to say something, but no words come. You feel your tears sting your eyes at the sight.
âNo one believed me when I told them what he was doing, no one believed me when I told them for how long. So I knew when I killed him it would just be the same. That they'd make him a martyr and I'd be the villain and- and I couldn't deal with that! I- I didn't want to live through that again!â your voice raises at the end, voice pleading to be listened to, to be believed. Fuck, even just heard.
You get what you ask for with his stunned silence and tense posture. After a moment though you can't help but feel like you want to take your words back, his silence disturbing you greatly.
Just as you're about to ask him to forget what he'd heard, to pretend like you hadn't ever said anything and move on like normal, his hands reach slowly for you. The movement confuses you so greatly that you don't even think to stop him when he silently pulls you into him. You stand rigid for a long moment before, bit by bit, melting into sobs. He holds you tighter in the silence of the elevator and you can't help but grip onto him like your afterlife depended on it.
It's after this that Vox becomes fiercely protective of you. It's incredibly strange for everyone, including yourself. He is adamant that it's just because you know so much about his company, that it's all purely business. But when you think back to that day in the elevator you can't help but believe that he might just actually care about you.

âïž There are times where i wonder if youâre ever aware that im staring or stealing glances at you in history and english. I hope you donât know or else youâll see just how head over heels i am for you and im not ready for that. One day ill be brave enough to ask you out. - J
âïž I had the hope that you smiled at me today when we passed each other in the hallway, but it dwindled when i looked back and saw jay, knowing how close you two are. âïž I attempted to crack a joke in hopes it could make you laugh. When you looked back at me, i swear the whole world stopped. You smiled at me and your laugh..its beautiful. I hope youâll smile and laugh the same way when i confess and you say yes. I can imagine you being shy about it and i find that so adorable. - E
âïž I overheard you talking with your friends talking about who could be sending you these letters. Everyone had different thoughts, but you thought it was jay..im not. I wish i could play guitar as good as he can, hes really good no? I wonder if your heart will beat faster if i was able to play a song for you..just for you. Would your cheeks heat up when i call you âbeautifulâ like how mine do when you look at me? - Y
âïž I know youâve figured out my feelings by now. You looked at me longer than before, have i become obvious with my feelings? Im excited yet scared at the same time. Would you reject me? Would you love me back? I imagine we are meant to be, but it all depends on how your heart feels. - U
âïž I know youâre eager to find out who is the sender of these letters, so iâve worked up the courage to reveal myself. I hope i get the outcome iâve been wishing for. Come to the music room and ill show you who i am. I even practiced something for you in hopes to impress you and show how i truly love you. - N
âAnd those were all of themâ you say happily looking over at your boyfriend, whose cheeks were starting to heat up while you gather all the sweet letters. âI canât believe you still have them after all those yearsâ he chuckles as you close the box and place it to the side.
Looking at you confused on the side of the bed as you just stare at him sweetly. You giggle as you throw your arms around him and pulling him down onto the bed with you. âWhat do you mean âall those yearsâ it was only 2 years ago, plus i saved them because theyâre cute and special since i knew they were from youâ you say with a grin. âYou knew?!â he exclaimed and you simply nodded as he started to nuzzle his face into your neck embarrassed.
âWell i didnât know till i read the third letterâ you assured him. You run your fingers through his hair before pushing him away a bit gently to see his face. You kiss his lips softly, making him go a bit redder. It was so cute how he was still a bit shy when it came to showing love and affection despite how much he begs for it.
âYou didnât have to learn the guitar for me, but it really did make me fall more in love with you when you played that song for meâ you state, your hand cupping his cheek, softly stroking your thumb up and down. He falls weak whenever you did that to him, resulting in him laying back down onto you, face nuzzled into your neck. âWhat you do to me is not rightâ he says, muffled by his position. You simply giggle at his shyness and run your fingers in his hair again, letting the rest of the night play out with you in each others arms, repeatedly stating how much you love and adore each other.
(HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO POOKIE JAKEY !!đ«¶đŒ)

his peace
pairing: carmy berzatto x reader
summary: when carmy meets you at an al-anon meeting, heâs surprised why how safe he feels with you immediately. but with that comes the anxiety of scaring you away.
word count: 2.5k
warnings: carmy and the reader meet at an al-anon meeting, but no actual discussion of sensitive topics
Carmy took yet another deep breath. He could hear his heartbeat pounding. He wiped his sweaty palms off on his jeans. He saw someone start walking down the hallway towards him. They gave him a small sympathetic smile, noticing his obvious nervousness.
He tried to take more breaths, as though it would give him a fresh perspective and a boost of confidence.
He ran his hand through his hair and reminded himself why he was there. Before he lost his courage, he walked past the âAl-Anon Meeting Today at 2pmâ sign and in the door.
He breathed a sigh of relief once he entered the room. Heâd been dreading the inside of this room. He was expecting to be met with cold stares and judgmental glances. Instead, the room seemed peaceful, and no one even seemed to notice him.
He picked a spot along the back wall and stood there. He casually leaned back against the wall, wanting to observe the meeting today instead of participate.
You were across the room. You were at the âsnackâ table that was topped with bottles of water and little packaged snacks, along with fliers full of resources like hotlines and therapist offices.
You caught a glimpse of the man lurking in the back of the room. You noticed the way his eyes avoided your gaze and focused on the floor.
You slowly walked over towards him. Everyone else was having side conversations before the meeting started. He was the only one who was alone.
Youâd been coming to these meetings for a while, but you remembered how alone you felt at your first one. You didnât want him to feel like that.
He only looked up at you once you were standing a few feet in front of him. He gave you a quick anxious smile. He could feel his palms start to sweat again. âAm I not allowed to just watch? This is my first time. I donât know how these things go.â He rambled, nervously.
âNo no no, feel free. Itâs totally up to you. I just wanted to introduce myself. Iâm Y/N.â You said, holding out your hand to him. His eyes darted to your hand, which he quickly grabbed and gave a firm shake.
âIâm Carmen. My friends call me Carmy though. Itâs nice to meet you.â He said, smiling at you. He didnât know why, but he felt lighter. Like some of the pressure had been taken off. Surviving this meeting felt like less of a big deal when he looked into your eyes.
His thoughts usually operated at a thousand miles a minute, but they seemed to still in your presence.
âI remember how anxious I was at my first meeting. Iâm not trying to force you to do anything. You do whatever feels right. But, nothing bad will happen if you come sit with us. I know you probably have all those worst case scenarios in your head right now, but I promise none of them are going to happen.â You tried to assure him as best as you could.
Carmy slowly nodded his head, thinking about what you said. He considered it more than he thought he would. It sounded less scary when you talked about it.
âIâm just not really ready to share or anything yet. I think Iâd rather just stay back here and watch.â He told you, hesitantly. The thought of having to talk to a room of strangers about his dead brother was almost enough to paralyze Carmy.
âYou can come and just listen, if you want. No one will force you to share. Again, absolutely no pressure, but Iâll save you a seat and leave it up to you.â You said, giving him a small smile and heading towards the circle of chairs.
Carmy watched as you walked away. Something about you made Carmy feel calm. You were encouraging enough that he felt like he could do anything.
He watched you for a few minutes. You were sat down and quietly talking to two other people next to you. Your warm smile made him feel optimistic. He was already looking forward to seeing you once a week.
You looked up and noticed he was watching you. He softly smiled at you. You went back to your conversation, not wanting to pressure him in any way by staring.
Then, out of the corner of your eye, you saw him walk up to the chair and sit beside you. You looked over at him and gave him an encouraging smile. You knew how massive a small step like that could feel.
You continued to check in with him throughout the meeting. After each person took their turn sharing, youâd look over at Carmy to make sure he was alright. You felt strangely protective over him, considering youâd just met.
After the meeting, he pulled you to the side. âThank you for encouraging me today. Iâve been really worried about this meeting, but you helped me feel a lot more comfortable.â He said, genuinely. There was a certain sparkle in his eye that he didnât even know was there. He felt hopeful for the first time in a long time.
âOf course. Iâm glad I was able to help. Iâm always here to talk, if you want.â You told him. You were met with a grateful nod.
âDo you maybe want to go get lunch? Youâre just really easy to talk to.â He asked you. All of a sudden, you had butterflies in your stomach. You couldnât hide your smile. âIâd love to.â You told him.
You both walked through the city talking about your lives. You both talked about why you went to Al-Anon meetings. You were one of the first people Carmy told about the Michael stuff.
It became a weekly tradition. Every week you both would sit side by side and then go out to lunch afterwards. By the third meeting, youâd gotten Carmy out of his shell enough to share with the group for the first time.
Carmy was trying really hard to appreciate how good it was with you. Especially since he knew he had a tendency to expect bad things to happen. It also meant he was scared of screwing it up.
So, he kept it separate. You and his life at The Beef were two completely different spaces in his head. You were peace, and The Beef was chaos. You were stress relief, and The Beef was stress-inducing.
That worked fine until he was bickering with Richie at the cash register, as usual, and he saw you walk in the front door.
Realizing it was you, Carmy froze. Heâd forgotten all about the argument with Richie, and his eyes were glued on you.
You watched as his cheeks turned a soft shade of red. Carmy was mortified that you were seeing this side of his life. The side that involved screaming and chaos and arguments.
âNot right now, Richie,â Carmy mumbled, pushing past Richie and walking into the kitchen. Carmyâs thoughts started racing. He walked past Sydney and Marcus and Tina as they yelled different questions at him.
His mind was on one thing now. He marched towards the office after he spotted Natalie sitting at the desk. He needed to talk to someone about you, finally.
He barged into the office and closed the door behind him. The yelling of the kitchen was slightly muffled, blending in with the thoughts bouncing around his head.
âCarm, whatâs wrong?â Nat asked, looking up and seeing her brother out of breath. Carmy immediately sat down on the couch and put his head into his hands.
He could feel himself spiraling and was trying to stop it before it got too far. All his emotions were bubbling to the surface. He truly thought he was going to scare you away.
âCarm, seriously, whatâs going on? Iâm getting worried.â Nat repeated.
He looked up from the floor, and she could see the panic in his eyes. âI went to a meeting. And I met this girl. Sheâs really been helping me. I just feel so calm when Iâm with her.â He said. Nat noticed a glint in his eye when he talked about you.
âCarm, thatâs great. Iâm really proud of you. I know it took a lot for you to go. So, whatâs wrong?â She asked, sitting beside him. She held onto his hand, encouraging him to explain.
âSheâs ummâŠoutside right now. I didnât tell her about this place, but she just walked in.â He mumbled, glancing back towards the closed door. Nat slowly nodded, trying to piece together what he was so worried about.
âWhatâs so bad about that?â She asked, cocking her head to the side. Carmy shrugged. He wasnât quite able to explain why he had this pit in his stomach.
âSheâs the one thing in my life that just feels pure and completely separate from all the shit here. I havenât let her see this side of me, and I really like her, Sugar. But if she sees this side of me, sheâll know how fucked up I am.â He said. His eyes were desperate. He was begging Nat for a solution. He needed to know what to do.
She pulled Carmy into a hug, rubbing his back slowly. âShe sounds really good for you, Bear. I think you should tell her how you feel. Sheâs not gonna run away because youâre complicated. Everybodyâs complicated. Itâs just life. And if she makes your life better, you should go for it.â She said, giving Carmy the perfect sisterly advice.
âYou really think so?â Carmy said, looking back towards the door. She just nodded and patted Carmy on the back. He slowly stood up from the couch.
Deep down he knew Nat was right, but that didnât mean he wasnât scared out of his mind.
He walked back through the kitchen, ignoring the chaos surrounding him as he walked towards you. As long as he stayed focused on you, he could drown out all the chaos.
He walked back into the front of the restaurant. You werenât in line anymore. His eyes searched around for you until he saw you sitting at a small table in the corner.
Richie was still at the cash register taking another customerâs order. âIâm sorry, cousin. We can talk later.â Carmy said, patting Richieâs shoulder as he walked by. He knew if he wanted less chaos in his life, it would take a lot of effort on his part.
He walked over to where you were sitting. When you looked up at him, you noticed his hesitant smile. âPlease, sit,â you said, gesturing towards the seat in front of you. He quickly nodded and then sat down.
âHey, umm, Iâm sorry that I kinda ran away earlier. I was just surprised to see you here.â He said, sheepishly. He scratched the back of his neck. You felt a small smile creep on your face. Bashful was a cute look on Carmy.
âItâs totally fine. I was shocked to see you too. I didnât know you worked at a restaurant.â You said, smiling at him. He quickly looked up to meet your eyes and then shook his head. âI actually own the restaurant. This was Mikeyâs before he died, and he left it to me.â He told you.
You noticed how happy he was when he was talking about his brother. Carmy was still bracing for you to storm out the door, and he didnât even know why.
It was probably because in his life, good things never lasted.
Until you.
He felt a little bit of imposter syndrome with you. Like heâd been pretending to be this person with his life put together. And now, you were seeing what his life really looked like.
âI think thatâs really beautiful, Carmy. You know, you running this place to honor your brother. I bet heâd be really proud of you.â You said. You gently reached across the table and let your hand rest on top of his. He quickly looked between you and your hand on his.
âReally? You donât likeâŠthink this place is a total shit hole? With all the screaming and everything. Everything here is fuckinâ chaos.â He said, chuckling to himself. Self doubt had always been something that haunted Carmy.
You quickly shook your head, assuring him. âJust because itâs a little messy doesnât mean itâs not beautiful. Nothingâs ever tied up neatly in a bow. Especially not when youâre dealing with family. I think it just means you care, not that youâre doing a bad job.â You said, running your thumb along the back of his hand.
He could hear his heart beating as he looked at you. Your hand touching his had goosebumps running up his arm. And when you looked at him with that smile, he felt his heart skip a beat.
âHey, do you maybe wannaâ I uhhh⊠nevermind, Iâm probably reading this wrong.â He said, quickly standing up from the table and starting to walk away.
You giggled to yourself at his shyness. You stood up and grabbed his hand to stop him. He spun around to face you, with hope in his eyes. Because you had stopped him from leaving, which had to be a good sign, right?
You tugged him closer to you. He could feel his eyes go wide. He was trying to read every little part of your expression. You pressed a soft kiss to his cheek. His stomach did a flip. He noticed how the warmth lingered on his cheek.
âDo you want to go get dinner sometime?â You asked, finishing his question for him. His shocked expression turned into a smile. âI would ummâ definitely, I would really like that.â He said, fumbling through his words.
Something about you made Carmy forget how to speak. âYouâre cute when youâre blushing.â You said, cocking your head to the side and admiring him.
One of his hands flew up to cover his cheeks. Carmy hadnât realized he was so easy to read. âNo no, Iâm not blushing. Itâs just uhhhïżœïżœ from the cold, yâknow,â he said, failing to convince you.
You giggled to yourself. The sound was angelic to Carmy and made his stomach do somersaults. âWeâre inside though.â You said, smirking at him as he was caught in his excuse.
âOh, yeah, would you look at that,â he said, pretending to be shocked. You jokingly rolled your eyes at him. He stepped forward, cupping your cheek and kissed you softly. You rested your hands on his sides as his lips softly moved against yours.
You both pulled away with giant smiles on your faces. âI really like you.â He admitted, interlacing his fingers with yours. You felt your smile grow even wider. âLikewise,â you said, pressing a kiss to his temple.
âI want to introduce you to someone.â He said, leading you back to the office to introduce you to Sugar.
It seemed like a weird choice, but for Carmy, it was him bridging his two lives together. He didnât want to keep them separate anymore. He wanted you to be in his life, his real life, not the life he pretended to have.

Irresistible {6} || CL16
Pairing: Charles Leclerc x fem!reader, Max Verstappen x fem!reader Summary: Gossiping drivers, alcohol and Charlotte. What could possibly go wrong? Warnings: 18+ only, nsfw, angst, cheating, kind of taboo (future stepbrother) WC: 4.9k F1 Masterlist || One || Two || Three || Four || Five || Six || Seven
Three weeks ago there had been an anonymous complaint raised about your presence in the paddock when you were nothing more than a spectator. Apparently an emotional support animal wasnât an acceptable reason to travel with Charles and it didnât take a genius to figure out who laid the complaint.
âAre you sure youâre okay with this?â Charles asked as you placed a plate of food in front of him.Â
âIâm getting paid to do what I would normally do anyway,â you pointed out once again. âAnd dad said I needed to get a job.â
You had been hired by Ferrari to work in the hospitality building; running food orders, making drinks, tidying the driverâs rooms. Okay, maybe the job was more than you would normally do, but not by much. At least you were kept busy and boredom no longer plagued you.Â
âI didnât realise you needed the money,â he murmured as he stabbed a seasoned chicken breast with his fork. His credit card in your handbag was yours to use however you wanted, he had assured you of that time and time again, and it was the only reason his apartment was furnished so brightly. You could never have done that on the measly savings in your bank account.Â
âI donât, but Iâm not going back to Monaco on my own.â That was the consequence if you didnât become an employee, at least while the Covid restrictions were in place.Â
âHmm, god knows what trouble you would get up to there on your own,â he chuckled, but the smile didnât reach his eyes. Something had been off about him all morning, but you knew he would talk about it when he was ready so you let it drop.
âI donât know what you are talking about,â you said with a wink as you leaned closer and laid a napkin on his lap. âI believe you called me a good girl just last night.â
You left the dining area before he could respond and met Sebastian at the beverage station. He was another of the drivers you had befriended, though much like he was to Charles, it was more in a father-figure role. The German was a gentle soul and you always had time for him, even when he called you out for the feelings you thought you were able to conceal in public.
âYou wear your heart on your sleeve,â he commented as you made his coffee - double shot espresso with a dollop of froth, no sugar.Â
âYou obviously need this coffee to wake you up, Bassy, you are clearly dreaming,â you said as you placed it in front of him and showed your bare arms. âI have no sleeves.â
Sebastian smiled as he lifted the cup to his lips, the words entertaining him but not fooling him. âThere is a little get together tonight with some of the other drivers. I think everyone is feeling a little isolated from society right now and could do with socialising. You should come.â
You gave a noncommittal shrug because you werenât sure if Charles would be one of those other drivers, he hadnât mentioned anything to you. âMaybe, it depends how busy I am picking up your dirty laundry.â
âMy wife trained me well, maybe you are thinking of the wrong room.â He placed the empty mug down and departed with a wink.Â
The rest of the day passed quickly and you made yourself comfortable in Charlesâ room while you waited for him to finish his media duties. It wasnât unexpected that he took longer since it was the first of the two Italian GPs, he had given you warning that the teamâs homerace would be more hectic. Pierre was the first to invite himself in, lounging on the other seat wanting to know the gossip around the paddock.Â
âDonât lie, I know the best gossip comes from the kitchens,â he begged when you said there was nothing of interest.Â
âWhat can I say? Everyone is tight lipped after Nora and Damien caught covid.â
That had been the hottest gossip of the week because Nora was from Renault and Damien from Racing Point. Both teams were still arguing over who gave it to who and there were talks of suspension because they were sneaking into each otherâs rooms instead of isolating.Â
âAh bon,â he huffed. âAre you coming tonight?â
âI donât know, I havenât had a chance to ask Charles what the plan is,â you answered as you checked your phone again to see no messages and the afternoon was dragging. âWhat is taking him so long?â
âYouâre waiting here for him?â Pierre frowned as he sat up a little straighter. âHe was heading back to the hotel after he finished, he had to go pick up Charlotte from the airport.â
You tried to police your face but from the pity on Pierreâs it was clear you failed to hide the disappointment, shock and betrayal. Charles had been quieter in the last few days but everything you asked what was wrong he said nothing and then distracted you.
âSorry, I thought you knew and thatâs why you were still hiding out here.â He stood up and reached into the pocket of his Toro Rosso jacket to grab his car keys. âWanna catch a ride with me?â
You didnât really want to go back to the hotel room you had been sharing with Charles but had no idea where else you could go. You definitely needed to change out of the Ferrari uniform you wore but you didnât want to see Charlotte if you could help it. Why was she even here?
âI donât know, but from his mood Iâm guessing Charles didnât invite her.â
You didnât realise you had asked that aloud and you concentrated on your shoes as you stood up and followed him out to the carpark. You almost asked him to turn around and take you back to the paddock but there would probably be more gossip spread if you slept in Charlesâ driverâs room instead of the hotel.
âThanks for the ride,â you said as you stepped out of Pierreâs car.Â
âNo problem. Text me if you want a ride to the party.â
You werenât exactly in the mood to party but the idea of liquor was growing on you so you said maybe and departed. Walking into the hotel, you passed the designer stores that lined the first two floors and felt the black credit card calling, but it was probably the devil whispering in your ear. And not for the first time you listened.Â
Charles checked his phone as he received another notification from his bank. One part of him was pleased to know you were at least near the hotel since the charges were to the shops below, but a larger part was sick knowing you were lashing out because of the message he had left in your room down the hall.Â
The shower turned off as his phone vibrated again and a bitter laugh bubbled at the $50k debit he saw for Prada before Charlotte appeared from the bathroom. There was a time before you showed up back in his life where he found her beautiful but now he could only imagine your face when he held her. He really had to do something about this because no matter how disinterested or rude he was, she ignored it to remain in his life. Looking away as she reached the bed, he returned his focus to his phone and sent a message to the person he actually wanted to be with.
The hotel room was silent when you finally built up the courage to leave the shops and take the elevator to the higher floors. The housekeepers had swept through and placed everything back where it belonged except for one square sheet of hotel-embossed paper.
Charlotte is here so I will be staying with her for the week. Iâm sorry, I couldnât bring myself to tell you in person. Love, Charles x
You sneered at the paper as your phone vibrated. âLove, my ass.â
Charles: Ma biche, if you are trying to bankrupt me you are going to have to do better than that.Â
You: I just want to look good for the party tonight. Never know who I might take back to my room.
You slammed the stack of receipts down beside the note and went to see that his bags were gone from the bedroom. Your lip curled back in disgust and you tore the protective sheath off the little black dress you had purchased with his money. If he was going to be a coward then he would suffer the consequences of it. You were sick of waiting for them to break up, maybe their delusions for a perfect image actually made them perfect for each other.
Charles slammed his phone onto the bedside drawer and pushed Charlotteâs advancing hands away. âIâm not in the mood.â
Rolling her eyes, she settled amongst the pillows and crossed her arms. âYouâre never in the mood anymore.â
âWhatever, just get dressed,â Charles ordered as he kicked his suitcase over before unzipping it and grabbing a clean set of clothes. âWeâre going out.â
âI just got here.â
âSo? Itâs a party.â He didnât even glance her way as he pulled his Ferrari shirt over his head and replaced it with a plain white t-shirt before moving onto his jeans.Â
âWill Y/N be there?â
Charlesâ foot caught in the legging and he nearly tipped over. âI donât know,â he lied.
Charlotte knew him well enough to know when he was lying, or telling half truths - those were almost as common as breathing to him lately.Â
â
Since social gatherings were frowned upon, the group had met in a large field that the motorhomes parked in near the Monza track. A roughly cut metal oil drum glowed with a fire and golden embers floated off into the evening light as you navigated your way in new heels to the circle of couches around it.Â
âI think I overdressed,â you joked to Pierre as a dozen pairs of eyes flickered your way. There was no denying that you looked amazing, but you were more suited for the red carpet than a backyard bonfire. You should have gone with jeans and a shirt like Pierre wore when he picked you up.
âI think you look beautiful,â Max said with a smile as he shifted on his seat to make space for you. âYou can sit here.â
You returned the smile and carefully stepped over the legs outstretched to warm by the fire. One pair of eyes burned into you but you pointedly ignored him as he sat opposite the flames with Charlotte on his lap. You stood in front of Max and put your hands on your hips as you cocked an eyebrow at the narrow space between him and the armrest.Â
âI have caught you checking out my ass enough times, Verstappen, you know itâs not going to fit there,â you said with a smirk.Â
An annoyed humph came from beyond the flames and Charles started to push Charlotte to her feet. âIâll get you a seat.â
âShe can sit here,â Max reiterated as he spread his legs back to get comfortable in his chair and patted his thigh.
âMateâŠâ
âSuch a gentleman.â You turned on your heel, meeting the furious Monegasque whose eyes reflected the fire that was burning within him too. You held his steely gaze as you lowered yourself down onto Maxâs lap, feeling the form fitting dress that barely covered your thighs ride even higher.Â
âI didnât think so many of you guys would actually be here,â you said as you draped an arm over Maxâs shoulder to help balance on your perch. His arm curled around your back so his hand rested lazily on your hip and his eyes darted to Charles, the blue hue almost screaming at him, âwhat a foolâ.Â
âI only came for you,â Max admitted as he tore his eyes away to look at you. Those eyes narrowed and he brushed he cupped your face, brushing his thumb across your cheek. âYouâre wearing makeup. Why?â
You frowned, wondering if maybe the makeup artist had done a terrible job and Max shook his head. âYou look beautiful,â he assured you as he saw the worry-lines crease your forehead. âYou always look beautiful, but you donât need makeup, schat.â
You didnât correct him on the endearment and he seemed to take it as a victory as his smile grew wider. Maybe you would have reminded him of the rules on friendship before the interruption, or maybe you would have just tucked the wayward strand of dirty blonde hair back where it had fallen over his face.Â
âIâm glad you made it,â Seb said, breaking the tension as he leaned over a cooler and offered a bottle of Jagermeister. âYou look like you could use this.â
âThanks,â you chuckled as you cracked the cap off. âYou could have given me a little more information about this âpartyâ.â
âWhere is the fun in that?â Kimi muttered to himself as he sipped vodka from a teacup. The white china and blue glaze depicted an ancient scene and you stared at it as you took a swig straight from the bottle. Disgust screwed up your face at the taste before shivering, making both of the older men laugh.Â
âUgh, Iâll take the rocket fuel please.â You didnât give Kimi a chance to pull away as you stole the teacup and handed him the dark green bottle instead, though you were sure with those driver reflexes he could have moved if he wanted to. âThatâs better,â you sighed as you tasted the drink to find it was a vodka lemonade mix. âI thought you would drink this stuff straight.â
âIâm not Russian,â he said as he jutted his chin across to Daniil who was in fact drinking pure vodka with Daniel, though the latter was coughing thanks to it. Reaching into the cooler, glass and ceramic clattered before he settled back into his foldout lawn chair with another china teacup that you didnât bother to question.
Conversations between the drivers flowed, voices cresting and receding with the topics they were passionate about. Your stomach sloshed with alcohol and your body relaxed against Maxâs, his smile growing when you rested your cheek on his head as you listened to him talk about the first thing he would do when the restrictions were lifted. It was to go to his friendâs concert, Martin Garrix to be specific.
âNo fucking way,â Pierre laughed. âNot this again!â
You lifted your head and peered across the circle to where George and Alex were arguing over the suggested game of Truth or Dare.
âWhat are you? Prepubescent teenagers?â you teased as Alex took a pro-stance on playing.Â
âNo, Lando only looks it,â George joked.
âHey!â The young McLaren driver spluttered with an indignant laugh. âRude.â
âLeave little Lando alone. He got his first pube just last week,â Daniel chimed in before adding, âIâll play. Max?â
Max shrugged with a quiet, âSure.â
Alex grinned wider and elbowed George. âSee, itâs fun.â
The younger half of the drivers around the circle started the game, daring each other to do silly little things that their PR teams would frown at or confiding the secrets they answered for a truth. Your ribs hurt from laughing until Daniel called your name.Â
âTruth or dare?â
âTruth,â you replied just so you didnât have to get up from your cosy spot on Maxâs lap.Â
âHave you kissed a driver here?â
Charlotteâs eyes narrowed on you through the flames and you grinned at Daniel as you combed your fingers into the short hair at Maxâs nape. âYes.â
âWho?â Daniel looked at Max, Pierre and Charles before returning to Max.
Your head tipped back with a laugh. âThatâs not how the game works, Danny. Itâs not your turn anymore. Itâs mine. Max?â
âHmm, yes?â he hummed as he looked into your eyes.
âTruth or dare?â
He debated the option for a moment before exhaling. âDare.â
âI dare you to take me out.â
âYou didnât need a game for that,â he chuckled. âWhen?â
âBreakfast, tomorrow.â You leaned in and brushed your lips over his cheeks that flushed pink an instant after you whispered in his ear. âWe could even make it breakfast in bed.â
You hadnât noticed Charles had left his seat until you heard his voice beside you, plonking himself down on the cooler while he sparked up a pointless conversation with Seb.Â
âCharles, truth or dare?â Max asked, noticing how still your body went and the stiffening of your spine.Â
Charles turned slowly, his eyes drifting over the space where your body met Maxâs and a sneer tugged at his lips. âI donât play childish games.â
âJust the adult kind, right?â
âI donât know what you mean,â he said with that innocent smile that had fooled you.Â
âOf course you donât.â Max turned his attention to the fire pit and the woman sitting on her own, attempting to hold an air of carefree relaxation despite her gaze always returning to you with a scowl. âCharlotte, truth or dare?â
âMax.â You jumped at the sharp bite to Charlesâ reprimand but Max didnât even glance his way as he waited for the woman to choose.
âDare.â
âI dare you to finish Kyvatâs drink.â
Pierreâs teammate grinned as he offered the tumbler that was half full of vodka. To give her credit, she only winced with the first swallow but she downed the spirit and cocked an eyebrow that challenged Max, is that all you have for me?
A cruel smile tipped up and she licked the drop of alcohol that clung to her lips, the burn of the vodka quickly hitting her veins and travelling to her head. âMy turn.â
Charles abandoned his conversation when Charlotte called your name and the slight shake of his head warned you not to answer.Â
But he had pissed you off.
âTruth.â
The choice echoed around the circle as everyone fell silent. Pressure brewed like a lightning storm approaching and everyone felt the charged atmosphere.
Charlotte closed her eyes and took a deep breath before opening them, staring you dead in the eye as she found the courage she had been missing for months. âHow long have you been fucking my boyfriend?â
Maxâs fingers stopped drawing abstract circles on your hip and Charles burst to his feet. âCharlotte!â
âWhat? Itâs just a game, Cha,â she replied with a bland look of boredom.Â
âItâs not appropria-â
â3 years,â you cut him off, your eyes never leaving hers. If she wanted the truth then she could have it. âThe 8th of August 2017, if you want to count the precise days.â
âWhat?â Confused murmurs broke around the fire.
âOh, shit,â Pierre laughed as he looked closer at you then to his friend who had frozen still. âSheâs that chick you hooked up with at Jimmyz?â
Charles dragged a hand down his face but ended it with a nod before turning to his girlfriend. âIt was before us, mon amour.âÂ
The way he said it made it appear it was only before they got together, ever the liar, and even you rolled your eyes.
âSo you twoâŠand your parentsâŠâ Kimi whistled before keeping his mouth busy with a drink. He was quietly enjoying the brimming heat too much for someone nicknamed the Iceman.
âMy father was out getting a haircut-â
â-at my motherâs salon-â
â-when we met. I guess they kept in contact after we left.â
Charles turned his attention to Charlotte but she was already storming her way across the field. With a sigh, he made his way after her and you wondered if it was finally the day that you had been holding out for, the one where she would dump him.Â
âShe should have asked when you last fucked him.â The words were a whisper in your ear as everyone else returned to their own conversations, the game clearly over, but you knew those conversations were about you. Max sensed your discomfort, though even a blind man would have been able to see it. âWant to get out of here?â
âYou still want to go somewhere with me?â It seemed unbelievable that he hadnât thrown you off his lap.
âEveryone has a history,â Max said with a shrug. âI donât care about your pastâŠjust your future.â
You left without a goodbye under the watchful eye of Seb but you didnât miss the elbow George gave Alex, muttering sarcastically, âOh yeah, letâs play truth or dare, he said, it will be fun, he said.â
âI didnât know that was going to happen.â The angry whisper of a reply followed your departure and it seemed Alex was the only one too innocent to see what had been in front of them all along.Â
Charles' car was already missing from the makeshift parking lot and you slipped into the passenger seat of Maxâs Aston Martin before he closed the door for you.Â
âWhere do you want to go?â
âI donât know, can we just drive? I feel like a fucking idiot,â you laughed bitterly. All the memories made with Charles seemed to crumble like sandcastles with the tide as you remembered how he had chased after her. He always did, and it seemed he always would. Actions screamed louder than words. âHeâs really not who I thought he was.â
âIâve known Charles most of his life and I donât think he even knows who he is,â Max said as he laced his fingers with yours and headed to the city. âAre you hungry?â
âNo, but I have a full mini bar that is getting billed to Charles. Want to help me empty it?â
Max shared a conspiratorial grin as he headed to the hotel and when you walked past Charlesâ room down the hall, it didnât hurt as much as you thought it would.Â
âWhat are you doing?â Max asked with a laugh as you hung the âDo Not Disturbâ sign on the front door. You closed the door and leant against it, Maxâs eyes following the curve of the Chanel dress, down the length of your legs to the Prada shoes and back up to the Bvlgari diamond necklace that accentuated the valley of your breasts.
âMaking sure this party doesnât get crashed.âÂ
â
It was a miracle there had been no complaint made as you turned the stereo up and pretended you knew how to mix drinks.Â
âMax!â You fell into a fit of laughter as he poured four of the miniature gin bottles into the cocktail shaker, adding it to the three bottles of vodka you had put in. âThat is pure alcohol.âÂ
He shook the container and poured the clear liquid into two glasses, spilling some as he reached the same level of drunkenness as you. âNo, itâs just water. Here, taste it.â He tipped his glass back, his face pinching before he blew out a burst of burning air from his throat and spluttered a cough. âMhmm, good water that.â
âYouâre trying to get me drunk,â you shouted over the pounding in your head, but you knocked the drink back anyway.Â
âYouâre already drunk,â he countered, dropping into the couch and pulling you down with him. Empty bottles littered the coffee table and the dining table, the expensive mini bar almost empty. âIâm just keeping you that way.â
You settled on his lap and fingered the dirty blonde hair that was longest at the top of his head. âIs that so you can have your way with me?â
His eyes danced over your body, lingering on your thighs as your dress barely covered them. âNo, schat,â he said with a small shake of his head as he cupped your face. âWhen I have you I want you to know that you chose me, clear headed and completely sober. Even if I really just want to fucking kiss you right now.â
You drew your lip between your teeth at the thought and his blue eyes darkened with envy. âWe could just kiss?â you suggested as you shifted to straddle his hips.
âI donât think it would be that easy to just stop there.â
âFine.â Your hands stroked the column of his neck, feeling the cords of muscle that tensed under your touch before you traced his collarbones with your thumbs. âTruth or dare?â
He inhaled sharply and tipped his head back, watching intently as you popped the first button on his shirt and opened the collar wider. He didn't appear to breathe as you kissed the hollow at the base of his throat. He exhaled, knowing what you wanted to hear, âDare.â
Your teeth grazed his racing pulse and he shuddered beneath you before you pulled back. âI dare you to kiss me.â
Perhaps it took having the flame of Charles extinguished for you to feel the spark of Max because this time when he pulled you close and captured you with a kiss you felt that spark ignite.Â
â
You looked around the parking lot seeing all the other mothers dropping their children off for the first day of school. They all kissed their kids on the cheeks after a tight hug and said their goodbyes, complete with teary I love youâs. Confused, you frowned at the large hand that gripped your school bag and followed the arm up to your father.Â
âDaddy, why isnât my mummy here?â
He had known the question was coming, he just didnât think it would be from his five year old. He thought he had more time to prepare as he dropped to one knee and held your hands. âYour mother was sick and she needed to leave so she could get better.â
âBut she never came back.â
âSometimes, thatâs whatâs for the best.â He kissed your forehead and draped your backpack over your shoulders, the weight more than just the lunchbox and books it carried. âBut you know what?â
âWhat?â
âI will always be here for you, pumpkin.â
You woke in a cold sweat and felt the haunting thought the dream had inspired linger in your brain as you slipped out of the sheets. Beside you, Max slept soundly with one hand buried under a pillow and the other stretched across the bed as if he was searching for you.Â
You didnât regret sleeping with Max, though part of you felt he surely would, and you watched his back rise and fall a few times as you dressed. You were busy trying to write a note, tearing off each piece that failed to convey what you wanted to say and balling it up, that you didnât hear Maxâs footsteps. You jumped in surprise as his hands came to rest on your hips and his lips teased the same sweet spot beneath your ear that he had found last night.Â
âGoing somewhere?â he asked as he saw your bags by the door and he saw the latest attempt of a note. Max, thank you for last night. How about a raincheck on our-
âI think it's time to go home,â you admitted as you turned in his arms and draped yours around his neck. âBecause the next time we do this, I want you to know that I chose you, clear headed and completely sober.â
He chuckled, surprised you could remember what he said. Then his own hungover haze lifted and he realised what else you said. âNext time?â
âI still want you to take me to breakfast,â you assured him with a smile. âHow about you call me when youâre back in Monaco?â
âItâs a date.â He tipped your head back and kissed you with the same passion that left your toes curling and your body warmed with the memory of how that kiss had led to much more last night. But Max was sober and more in control of himself as he reluctantly broke away first. âDo you want me to take you to the airport?â
âNo, thank you, Iâm going to drive back. Take a bit of time to myself and figure my shit out.â
Max frowned. âYou donât have a car.â
âYet,â you said with a wink. âBut if the offer for a ride is still on the tableâŠthere is somewhere you can drop me off.â
â
Charles woke to a call from his bank and he swallowed deeply as he listened to the request to release $250k to a dealership. There was only one reason you would buy a car and the thought left him feeling empty as the bed he woke up alone in. It was a surprise there was no noise complaint after the argument he had with Charlotte, the one where he snapped and broke things off. She had left in a rage and he didnât have the decency to ask where she went.Â
He had gone to your room, his feet carrying him light on a breeze as he finally had what he wanted. But then he had seen the Do Not Disturb sign on the door, and heard your laughter sneak through the panel of wood that separated him from where he should have been.Â
Sitting up in bed, he wiped away the tears that had dried on his cheeks overnight.Â
âYes, allow the payment to proceed,â he muttered, though the sound of his voice was no longer one he recognised.Â
Charles: Drive safe, ma biche x You: Iâm sorry I couldnât tell you in person. Charles: I guess I deserved that.

Made in Cybertron
Synopsis : Orion Pax met a bot within the new cave section, the mysterious bot suffers amnesia and Orion wants to help them recover their memories and uncover secrets within Cybertron.
Prologue II >>
---------------
Prologue I
------------
"Hey! Get back here at once!"
Two guards are chasing after a blue and red bot, who is laughing to himself as he takes sharp turns in order to escape the guards. He runs through the crowd causing the guards to lose sight of the cogless miner.
Orion Pax quickly gets onto the train that would lead him back to the mines, he grins to himself and pops a few energon cubes into his mouth.
"Easy peasy~" he grins as he leans on the wall.
What a day, he couldn't wait to tell D-16 about his research at the Archives. There's a lot of things he wants to talk about and there's might be a chance for them to find the Matrix of Leadership.
As soon the train reaches the mines, he steps out and goes straight to find his friend, D-16.
His optics spots D-16 pushing a cart full of energon, he grins and starts calling out to the bot. "Hey, D!" he calls out as the grey mech turns his helm and glares at the red blue bot "Orion, where were you?!" he hiss. "You've been missing for hours!".
"It's only like one hour! I was quick, don't worry" assure Orion.
"Quick?! You've missed half the day's shift! If anything happens, I ain't helping you with your workload!" D-16 says in exasperation, unloading the energon into the crate. He clearly dislikes his friend breaking the protocols. Always get himself in trouble and he won't be there to save him if gets himself caught by those guards.
"Ohâ" Orion's optic widens in realization, he didn't know he was gone for THAT long. "Well, uhh...heh heh...I'll get to work then" the bot rubs the back of his neck. Guess he has to start his shift before Darkwing or Elita finds out he's been snitching work.
D-16 rolls his optics as he loads the last energon into the crate and he will be done for the day. It was tiring and his body felt sore, the workload has been increasing day by day. They barely get any rest, if they do, they only get a few minutes or so.
He closes the crate and watches it get taken away.

"Is this all it?" Sentinel says in disbelief, holding a data pad in his hands. He slams the data pad on the table causing everything on the table to be knocked over. He received the news of the mining progression and it wasn't good at all.
Their energon source is depleting and it won't be enough for everyone, let alone... for THEM! The Quintesson.
He has to find a way.
"Argh! There has to be a way!" he vents angrily. His optics turn to Arachnid, "Ready the troops for another expedition, now" he said as the femme nods and exit the office. Once he is alone, he turns around and calls out.
"Zephyrstrike! You told me that everything is going smoothly!" he said, coming out from the shadows is a slim mech in copper and black pallets.
"My master, please. Be patient, my team and I are doing our best to find it" Zephyrstrike said in a calm and soothing tone. "Patience! Patience that's all you saidâ" Sentinel growls, stomping over to the shorter mech. "I will be doomed once the Quintesson finds out that I barely provide energon for them!" he said.
"I know, master but finding the Matrix isn't easy. SteelHazard is trying his best to locate it, he hasn't had enough sleep for the pass cycles...." the mech said. "Alsoâ I bear good news, master. We have found a new mining area within the deepest caves of Cybertron. It will give us enough supplies for the next 3 moon cycles" Zephyrstrike assures the 'Prime'.
Sentinel quirk a brow at the news, a new mining area means more energon and more energon means more work for the cogless miners. The 'Prime' fixes his structure, "Very well, tell the mining operators about it and make sure everything goes well. Understand?" he said.
Zephyrstrike smiles and bows, "I understand, master" he said before disappearing into the shadows, back where he came from while Sentinel turns and leaves for another expedition.
.
.
.
"Listen up, all of you miners!" Darkwing's voice boom, causing all the miners to stop whatever they are doing. "The exploration team has discovered a new cave system. You know the drill! We call out your names, get your equipment and start digging!" he said. Some of the miners weren't so happy with the news they have received, another cave to mine and they have to work more than usual.
Their superiors start to call out each bots names and surprise that both Orion and D-16 were included.
Orion let out a groan, "Ugh, really? We barely finish with this cave and now we have another?" he said. "Come on, Orion. We are doing this for the good of Cybertron, for everyone and Sentinel Prime" D-16 said, picking up his mining equipment. "Yeah, I know" Orion smiles as he does the same. Both of them went to the station and were ready to be transported to the new cave.
"Hey, at least we get to see something new" D-16 smiles, nudging his friend. "Who knows if we will find the Matrix in that cave" he said. "Hm, you're right! ButâI'm going to miss going to the Archives now" he pouts. "Well, at least now I don't have to cover your aft anymore" D-16 said.
"Are you sure about that?" Orion grins as they board the train as it takes them to the new mining section.

More Than Words
3. An Advantageous Journey
Logan Howlett x OC!Reader
Series Summary: Having lived for over two hundred years and never having the privilege of human touch is the biggest burden imaginable... until someone comes along with the healing ability to withstand the touch of death.
Chapter Warnings: mild language, mentions of scars and blood, a few traumatic events and ptsd symptoms, mostly fluff in this one guys⊠but LOGAN IS A WARNING. Oh and also Iâm not from Canada and only have one Canadian friend so my apologies if Canada is depicted poorly⊠she was like âitâs just like America except thereâs more snow and some people speak Frenchâ
Chapter Summary: Going back to Canada is supposed to be a quick trip that benefits Loganâs memory, but upon arriving, he seems to think that a fews days need be spent on diversions.
Word Count: 15.3k (God help me-)
âThen how were they able to cut you up?â Poor phrasing, but he was never one for a gentle touch in his wording.  âSame way you were able to,â you reminded him, rolling up your sleeve to show where his claw marks had almost completely healed over. âAdamantium.â âAdamantium? Youâre kidding,â he almost found it funny, the irony of it all. Heâs the only one who can touch you, but heâs also the only one who can hurt you. âHowâd they figure that out?â
The professor was the first one to speak to Logan the morning you both planned on leaving the mansion. Everyone was made aware of this, but few people understood why it was so necessary. Even Scott, who had endured some of the same treatment as you and Logan, did not know how to justify such a spontaneous trip in the midst of all the chaos surrounding mutants. Especially after the recent situation with Magneto.
It could be dangerous, but above all things, it could also bring answers. And Logan needed answers. About who he was, what he did, and where heâs supposed to go, now. The pain from his nightmares has subsided only a small bit while being here with everyone. He wants to make them go away for good.Â
When Charles sits him down in the study that morning, he thinks he understands why. Youâre a very important member of the team. He wants to make sure you return, and without a scratch. It makes sense in his mind⊠but the professor has other ideas for the conversation.Â
âHow long do you both plan on being away?â He asks, keeping a tether on Loganâs mind in case he is even the slightest bit dishonest.Â
âNot sure,â he began with a sigh, sitting back into the seat heâd been given. âI guess it depends.â
âOn what, exactly?â Charles kept his questioning thorough, but not for the reason of interrogating him.Â
âOn what we find.â Logan shrugged his shoulders and raised a brow. He really had no idea what he was going into when you said youâd take him to Strykerâs old bunker. âGuessing from the nightmares Iâve had, itâs not really a nice place.â
âWell, I assure you,â Charles began, turning his chair to the side and reaching for some documents on his desk. âYou are in the best of hands. The very best. I just hope you know how lucky you really are.â
âLucky? How so?â Loganâs curiosity wandered. He knew you were a valuable member of the team, and he was grateful that you would offer him such a strenuous task on your own shoulders, but he caught on that there was more that Charles hadnât spoken.Â
âAlice is a rare mutant. Like you, she can stand the tests of time, and never waiver. She is nearly immortal, and takes her job of protecting others very seriously.âÂ
âI picked that up,â Logan nodded in agreement. âShe cares a lot about saving people.â
âShe cares even more for those who are close to her,â the old man warned, his expression becoming more solemn and serious. âShe will go to incredible lengths to keep her loved ones out of harmâs way.â
Logan was beginning to wonder where the point was in all of this. He knew you were the type to look out for others above yourself. You were an X-man, it kind of came as a job requirement⊠but more than that, he knew you were kinder than most people were, and the help you extended to him was not just a simple favor.Â
âShe has never experienced a bond like she has with you⊠with human touch.â
He understands now. Your powers, and the impact they have had on you is immense. You have to keep everyone at armâs length, except for him. He can be let in, and he can do the things that others canât.
âWhat exactly are you telling me?â Logan pondered, gruffly. Even with the professorâs point being made, he was still curious as to why he would bring this all up.
âIâm telling you to be careful. Sheâs already grown strongly attached to you for the sake of your touch, and will likely become fonder in these days to come. I ask you to think about and consider her feelings when you take her with you⊠If you hurt her, the consequences would be unimaginable.â
Logan does consider them, for a split second he considers them. He knows youâre fond of him, otherwise this escapade would not even be happening⊠but he also knows that his ability to touch you is the defining factor. His feelings for someone else block out any signs that your interest in him could further develop, at least past what it is already. Even with all this in mind, Logan is a smartass, and wants to tempt the man in charge by challenging his threat.Â
âI can imagine quite a bit,â he smirked, nodding his head side to side.Â
Charles did not take that comedically whatsoever, and Logan didnât really expect him to. It was probably a bad idea to open his mouth in the first place.Â
âYou mock me when Iâm trying to help you?âÂ
âNo sir,â he let out with a breath.Â
âThe consequences I speak of would not be dealt by I or any of her colleaguesâŠâ
âThen by who?â Logan asked, his voice not raised, but becoming more prominent as the conversation became more pointed than it was before. âIs there some big bad monster I should be worried about?âÂ
Charles sighed. He wasnât getting anywhere, and Logan only seemed to become irritated the more he spoke. He took a glance into the manâs mind, and found that a beautiful woman with long red hair rested among his thoughts, though he should not be thinking about the woman that is most definitely taken.Â
âI can see that your mind is clouded by thoughts of someone else,â Xavier changed the subject, tapping into the specific thoughts and trying to gather more details. It appears this conversation was mostly for nothing. Charles sighs, âDo not hurt Alice, Logan. If you do, her pain will become yours.â
âI wonât hurt her,â Logan stood up, assuming this was the last of the professorâs advisory words. He was becoming quickly annoyed with how little the man trusted him, and how intrusive heâd been this whole time.Â
He wouldnât lead you on, but he wouldnât shut you out, either. Youâd been so helpful to him, he wasnât going to push away the one piece of his past that just might bring everything together. That would be foolish of him.Â
âLogan,â The professor stopped him one more time, and he turned to look at the man, sitting straight and with a firm gaze from his wheelchair. âWhen the time is right, ask her about a man named Charlie.â
Logan sighed, filing that thought away in his mind before heading back upstairs to pack some of his belongings together.Â
-
You never wanted to go back to Canada.Â
You swore after you got out the first time that nothing good could ever come out of Canada and you stuck to that belief.Â
But youâd met Logan in Canada, and he wasnât so bad. Scott, too⊠although heâd been a teenager at the time and was much more annoying back then.
âOn your way already?â Ororo was leaning in your doorway when you looked up, watching you stuff your travel backpack until it could barely zip up on the side.Â
âAbout to be,â you heaved it up onto your back, adjusting your posture to hold it correctly, then walked to meet her at the door. âI wasnât going to leave without saying goodbye.â
She grabbed your hand, covered in your little green gloves. âKeep in touch, will you?âÂ
âI will, I promise,â you nodded gently. âI wonât stay away for long.â
âYou say that now,â she crossed her arms and shook her head jokingly. âBut going away with a guy that looks like that? And heâs the only man in the world that can touch you? Baby, Iâll be lucky if I ever see you again.â
You laughed along with her, giving a warm smile and a nod. âHeâs somethingâŠâ
âHeâs ready to go,â Logan teased, coming up behind Ororo.
You blushed, knowing he probably heard the conversation while leaving his room. You avoided making eye contact with him yet, just gave a thin lip smile while looking back to your dear friend and saying your last goodbyes. You only wished you could hug her close to you, for all the years sheâs spent in your corner.Â
âI guess Iâll see you around, Ro.âÂ
âDonât be a stranger⊠Call me when you can.â She gave you a strong look, indicating that she was serious, and not just playing along for the sake of goodbyes.
âYou know I willâŠâ you trailed, giving her one more squeeze of the hand before walking behind Logan towards the stairs.Â
Once at the bottom, there was just a slight obstacle. Rogue caught you both leaving, and had a few words to say.Â
Youâd admit, you felt bad leaving her here, especially when youâd been so adamant to her before that you were going to teach her about her powers and how to get used to them without the fear of hurting others. Itâs only now that you realize you wonât be able to help in the most detrimental stages of her mutant education⊠but you would return. You knew you would.Â
You had to help Logan, first. He was the priority. He saved your life once, and it was time to pay that debt forward.Â
Logan had left his dog tags with Rogue, along with a promise that he would be back. Of course he would⊠Or maybe he wouldnât. You never thought about what could happen if he should find his memories and remember who he is. He might have loved ones and a family to return toâŠ
âSheâs got a crush on you,â you mentioned to him once you were out of the house. You looked at him, and he seemed unsurprised. âAnd she trusts youâŠâ
âI figured that much,â he smirked, walking towards the main garage around the side of the large house.Â
âDid you mean it?âÂ
âDid I mean what?â He turned to ask you, his features twisted in confusion.Â
You sighed, stopping at the garage door but making no motion to use the lock pad to open it.Â
âWhen you said you were going to come backâŠâ you trailed, scanning your thumb print on the pad so the door would fold up. State of the art technology for the lock, but the same old door from the seventies.Â
It took him longer than you expected to answer the question, but you figured since it held some weight, it was good that he thought it out clearly.Â
âYeah, I meant it.â
You looked to him, the decision he made was worn on his face and it was easy to see he was telling the truth.Â
âGood,â you nodded, walking inside first and grabbing your keys from your pocket. Logan immediately gave you a glance of mischief, and walked in the other direction.Â
âLogan, noâŠâ
âLogan, yes,â he taunted, going over to sit on the motorcycle that belonged to Scott. You werenât going to play this game with him.
âWe are not going all the way to Canada on a bike.â You were trying to be the reasonable one here, but he was so damn stubborn. Two could play that game, you were stubborn, too. âGet in the car.â
âGet on the bike,â he nodded behind him, the open seat looking appealing for only a moment. âI know you want toâŠâ
âNo, I donâtâŠâ you opened the driverâs side door, and climbed in, shutting it behind you⊠but he didnât budge from the damn motorcycle.Â
When he turned it on, the engine roaring to life and revving from the motions of his hand, you closed your eyes for a split second before doing the worst thing you could have possibly done. You climbed out of the car and went to the motorcycle, swinging a leg over and holding onto him with a big huff. He knew you did it for show, not because you were actually upset.Â
âComfy?â He threw a smirk over his shoulder, and you huffed again for emphasis.Â
âNo.â
He just laughed, pulling out of the garage and onto the road.Â
You would admit, the wind in your hair, and the lovely smell of the pine trees lining the streets was wonderful. All the sights on the way to your destination were quite lovely, and though you could see them from your car just the same, it wouldnât feel like this.Â
This feels like flying, almost, with the breeze beneath your wings, and the sounds of nature as you pass through.Â
Logan can almost sense your smile when you drive by a particular area full of color changing aspens, the scenery surrounding you felt almost like a dream, something from out of a movie.Â
He never said anything to taunt you about being right, or made a comment about how much you seemed to be enjoying yourself. It was silent between you both for hours, until the sun began had set, and youâd finally crossed the border into Canada.Â
âWeâre gonna have to stop soon for the night,â he mentioned when youâd pulled off the road to get something to eat. Just a little rest-stop⊠gas stations, fast food, the works. Youâd spotted a sign a few miles back for a motel, but werenât sure where to go in order to get there.Â
âFill up the tank, Iâll go inside and ask about directions,â you told him, swinging your leg off of the bike and walking away.Â
He was certain that this dynamic between the two of you was working well already, and that he didnât need to heed Charleâs words as much as he originally intended. You seemed to go with the flow of things, and were rather easy to get along with⊠and you didnât seem to be super into him like the professor said you would be. You cared about him, sure⊠but he cared about you too, and without crossing any lines.Â
Filling up the bike, he leaned against the metal machinery, his head dozing back and forth from his tired state. It wasnât until you returned, holding a map and a bag of gas station pastries that he was fully aware again.Â
âThe guy marked that motel out for me on the map,â you said, unfolding the paper and showing it to him, the red marker lining the road and the turn off. âItâs two exits down.â
âEasy enough.â He took a look at the marked location for himself, waiting for the gas pump to finish topping off the tank.
âI got you a donut,â you said, handing him a paper bag like your own. Youâd pulled a maple donut from yours, so he was appalled to find that his was not also a maple donut.Â
âChocolate?â His eyebrows raised, only teasing you, but still just slightly butthurt about the donut.Â
âYou donât like chocolate?â You furrowed your eyebrows, talking with your mouth full of the first bite you took.
âDid they not have any other maple glazed?â he nodded to yours, the joking nature still filling his tone.Â
âThis was the last one.â You reasoned. You found it a little funny, but felt a little bad at the same time.Â
He huffed, shaking his head, but then you smiled sweetly, holding out the donut with a single bite taken to him.Â
âIâll trade you,â you offered, knowing that in the end, it was just a donut compared to the grand scheme of things.Â
âThanks,â he muttered gratefully, a sideways smile spreading on his cheeks. Heâll admit, it was a sweet gesture, no matter how small. He handed you the chocolate donut, and took a bite out of the one you gave him. âMaple donuts are for real Canadians.â
âYouâre Canadian?â you asked, a bit of surprise coming from you. You met him in Canada, but it was somehow still a shock to you. He seemed very American when you first met him, and even now.Â
âSâone of the only things I can remember,â he nodded, his demeanor livening up quickly, and all because of a donut.
âHuh,â you stared off, wondering if heâd known Stryker for long before his memory faltered. Clearly heâd been abused by the man, but to what extent, you werenât sure. You have bits and pieces of memories from that era, and most were just feelings of the energy around you.
âYou didnât know?âÂ
âYou didnât tell meâŠâ you trailed, enjoying the chocolate donut, despite maple donuts being better. Him enjoying it was satisfying enough.
âWe should get out of here,â he yawned, crumpling up the paper bag and tossing it into a nearby trash can. âRoad is dark, and Iâm tired.â
âBig, strong, manly⊠but gets tired on a little road trip?â You teased, finishing up the pastry before throwing away the trash and getting back on the bike with him.
âYou try steering this thing all day.â He threw a smirk over his shoulder, revving the engine.Â
âI would, if youâd let me,â you chided, another taunt that you knew wouldnât end in your favor. Heâd never be caught dead on the back of a motorcycle like this with someone else behind the handles.
âNot a chanceâŠâÂ

Having checked into the small motel, you ached for a shower, but given that Logan was practically falling asleep already, you let him go first.Â
Maybe it was a mistake, heâd been in there for a while, and you thought maybe all the hot water would be gone by the time it was your turn. You just hoped he hadnât fallen asleep in there, propped against the shower wall.Â
You might just shower tomorrow at this point, unwilling to wait for the water to heat back up.Â
With a sigh, you changed into something a little more comfortable, the pair of sweatpants and sweater that were shoved to the bottom of your giant backpack. It was wrinkled as all hell from the journey, but you knew that didnât matter. It was cozy, and warm, and being in Canada as late fall was setting in meant you needed to be as warm as possible.Â
You curled up on the queen bed closest to the heater with your book, which youâd deemed necessity enough to bring on this escapade to another country.
When Logan finally emerged, heâd adorned a pair of flannel pants, and a gray t-shirt, which was admittedly a bit small for him. The fabric hugged his body a bit tighter than he was used to, but good lord almighty⊠this man looked stunning.Â
The dim light from the bathroom, mixed with the warm glow from your bedside lamp while you read, it made him look like he glistened. The stray water drops on his face and neck, and the quickly curling upwards strands of his damp hair. You never guessed that his hair just did that naturally. You found yourself staring a little too long, and as soon as Logan picked up on it, dropping the towel he used to dry his hair, he chanced a look in your direction. Quickly your eyes found the pages of your book again, and you kept a straight face, hoping nothing would be said about it.
âThat a good book?â he smirked, knowing that you could barely even focus on it a second ago.Â
âMhm,â you zoned in on the words, reading them over and over, but none of what they mean stuck in your head. You could only think about what you just saw, and what you still could see if only you turned your gaze.Â
âIt looks old,â he commented on the bent pages and old fabric cover. It looked worn and well loved.Â
âIt is old. I got it on the day it was released in nineteen fifty-three.â
He whistled lowly, his eyebrows raising in surprise. âYou read it a lot?â
âOnce a year,â you mumbled, still acting engrossed with the page youâd been stuck on since he entered the room. âItâs my favorite book.â
âWhatâs it about?â He sat down on the edge of his bed, leaning forward and looking at you tiredly. He was exhausted, wasnât he? Why didnât he just say goodnight and go to bed?
âThe future⊠the way the author thinks our societies will begin to crumble,â you explained, turning towards him and letting the book fall on your chest, pages still open. âBooks will be outlawed, and a group called the firemen will be required to burn any that are found.â
âSounds interesting⊠also sounds a little miserable. Whyâs it your favorite?â He grinned, throwing his sheets and blankets up and lying beneath them, keeping his head propped up on his hand so he wouldnât fall asleep yet. The warm glow of your bedside lamp cast him in such a pretty glowâŠ
âI think it feels very real to me, in a wayâŠâ
âYou think books are gonna be outlawed?â He laughed slightly, clearly finding himself misunderstanding your meaning.Â
âNo, but with the way things are playing out, it feels like a projection of whatâs to come. Of course, they will make the enemies of the future out to be mutants, not books.â
âAnd these⊠firemen,â he put finger quotes around the word, trying to be hypothetical about the situation. âYou think there will be groups like that?âÂ
âMutant hunters? Absolutely⊠Theyâre already out there, just look at what happened to us,â you sighed, the facts of the matter weighing you down, even though it had been a pleasant conversation. You enjoyed talking about your favorite book, but everyone in the mansion had already heard about it a thousand times. It was refreshing to get a new audience to share thoughts with.Â
âI never thought about it that wayâŠâ he furrowed his brow, his eyes drooping with every second passed. He had to be fighting sleep for his life.Â
âMutants are supposed to be the future⊠but weâll never see that future if we have to battle extinction.âÂ
He didnât reply, his mind elsewhere. You watched him carefully, his face looking deep in thought. You returned to your book by the time he finally spoke up again.Â
âYouâll have to let me borrow that book sometime,â he rolled over as he said it, so when you glanced over at him, his back was facing you. âGânight, Alice.â
âNight, LoganâŠâ
-
In the morning, you woke up later than usual, no alarm clock or imminent threat looming to pull you from your slumber. It was nice, being able to wake up naturally for the first time in years. You felt so well rested that you nearly forgot where you were. The chill air of the morning surrounded you just outside of the thick blankets and sheets you were under, but it wasnât unpleasant, it was refreshing.Â
When you opened your eyes, you began to recall everything slowly. Sitting up, you find that Logan isnât in the bed across from you, or in the room at all. You furrow your brow and stand to your feet, rubbing the sleep out of your eyes when a note catches your eye.Â
Placed on a tiny table by the janky minifridge, thereâs a paper bag and a torn off napkin with some words scribbled on it.Â
Be back soon⊠got you something.
Inside the paper bag was a maple donut. It looked really good, too. Much better than the fifty-cent one youâd traded to him the night before.Â
You smiled and took a bite, eating while going about your morning routine, wanting to shower and get ready to leave the motel. You werenât sure what Logan was up to, but with him being Canadian and all, youâre sure heâs just happy to be back.Â
He knocked on the door, the latch lock seeming to have been flipped over when he left.Â
You dropped your change of clothes back onto your bed, running over to the door and letting him in. He seemed to have a relaxed grin on his face, and looking at his clothing, there was a light sheen of icy water coating his leather jacket.Â
âCâmere,â he pulled you along, completely barefoot and still in your pajamas.Â
Once outside, you saw that the grounds were covered with just a small dusting of snow. It wasnât thick, or freezing, but it was still falling around you, and you suddenly didnât mind getting dragged away from the warm room.Â
âItâs snowing already?â You asked in confusion, as if he had the answer.Â
âItâs Canada, what did you expect?âÂ
You just continued to enjoy the pretty sights around you, then realized your feet were still bare and you were likely going to make yourself sick if you didnât go back inside.Â
âLet me go shower and we can check out,â you muttered, looking at him and finding he was just as captured by the beauty of a quickly approaching winter wonderland.Â
âIâll make sure the bike is thawed out,â he joked, nodding to you.Â
After you went back inside, he walked around to the front to where the bike was parked in the covered area. It wasnât too cold, but it would still need some time for the metal to heat up. Heâd been able to start the motor not too long after, and pulled it around the side of the motel to be closer to where you had stayed.Â
He should have knocked before going inside, and he regrets not doing so, but upon opening the door to you half dressed, having yet to pull up your jeans, he seems to be frozen in place. You donât notice him at first, and with the second glance he gets, he sees all the scars littered over your legs and hips. He remembers the first night when youâd put all the pieces together, knowing youâd met him before. You knew about his past, and he got a peek into yours. You'd told him a man named Stryker gave you those scars.
âShit, LoganâŠâ You trailed, yanking up your jeans faster and hopping your feet to speed up the process. When you noticed heâd just been standing there you panicked, and nearly fell down trying to get your pants up. âDonât you knock?â
âIâm sorry,â he blinked himself out of it, furrowing his brow and dripping his eyes. He had to physically shake himself from the trance. âI didnât mean to-â
âItâs fine,â you stopped him, grabbing your things and packing them away, sliding your backpack on and walking past him. Your hair was still wet from your shower, but you didnât want to stay inside and let the moment linger any longer. âLetâs get out of here, we still have a long way to drive.â
-
The hike through the fresh snow had been a little uncomfortable, mostly happening in silence. Since this morning, youâd barely spoken a word to him. Youâd ridden miles and miles on the back of the bike without talking. Usually he was the silent type himself, but heâd felt bad for what happened, even after apologizing, so he decided it rested on his shoulders to break the quiet streak.
âIâve been thinking⊠those scars,â he tried to broach the subject lightly, looking at you with a careful eye. âYouâd said you were bulletproof, and fireproof. I had it in my head that you were impenetrable.â
âI am,â you gave him a flat stare, nodding your head a little.
âThen how were they able to cut you up?âÂ
Poor phrasing, but he was never one for a gentle touch in his wording.Â
âSame way you were able to,â you reminded him, rolling up your sleeve to show where his claw marks had almost completely healed over. âAdamantium.â
âAdamantium? Youâre kidding,â he almost found it funny, the irony of it all. Heâs the only one who can touch you, but heâs also the only one who can hurt you. âHowâd they figure that out?â
You kept on with your trek through the forest, the explanation rolling around in your head before you told him aloud.
âTheyâd been trying to take me apart for years, and all Iâd do is rot in a cell⊠then they found a mutant called Lava, and she was the only person who could melt the adamantium theyâd discovered. I guess they ran out of options with me⊠so,â you sighed, raising your eyebrows and trying to keep composure while talking about it. Opening up to him did little to help his own memory, but you did so anyway. Because he asked. âThey coated a surgical set in adamantium to see what would happen⊠and it worked. They started taking parts of me wherever I could spare them.â
He had come to a slow stop, but you hadnât noticed, continuing through the forest on your own, trying to make it to the edge of the lake before it got too dark. You at least wanted to pinpoint the location for tomorrowâs journey through the past.Â
You turned around to see him standing dead still, a look on his face the likes of which you couldnât decipher⊠What was he thinking behind those pretty eyes?Â
âLogan, you okay?âÂ
He blinked out of his thoughts. You wondered if maybe he was remembering something and youâd stopped him.Â
âYeah, I just,â he shook his head and caught up with you, the solemn look not leaving his face. âIâm sorry you had to go through that.â
You shrugged, keeping in stride with him, not falling behind or going ahead this time. The conversation helped ease the awkwardness that came before in the silence. âItâs alright. It was a while ago⊠besides, you were the one who saved me, you donât need to be the one apologizing.â
The hike kept on in a much more comfortable silence. The sun would be going down soon, and you didnât want to spend the night out in the woods, especially when it had been starting to snow today.Â
When you came across the small stream, leading to the edge of the lake, you picked up speed.Â
âShould be right up here,â you told him, leading the way through the mucky ground, moist with melted snow and mud.Â
Youâd seen it before he did. You stopped in your tracks the second you looked across.Â
He caught up, taking a look for himself, but quickly growing concerned with howtense and unmoving you were. Your expression had changed from the relaxed one it had been wearing to a firm yet frightened stare. It was eerily quiet, and you couldnât move your feet. Your hands balled into fists and one at a time, the memories of this place came rushing back. Just seeing the base, abandoned and covered in rust, was enough to make you want to cry. You felt all the loneliness, all the pain, and all the lost hope that used to plague you in this very place.
âYou okay, kid?â Logan came closer, and you nodded, putting on a brave face and turning to him with a forced look of calmness.Â
âYeah, Iâm fine,â you even managed a stiff smile, but you refused to turn back towards the base, letting your shoulder have the pleasure of the view instead. âItâs getting dark, though.â
âYeah,â he nodded, watching as you were quickly back on the path you came from, trying to keep the composure that you werenât sure would hold. âAlright.â
He trailed on after you, and just before the sun was all the way below the mountains, youâd managed to get back to the road. The bike was cold again, but thankfully it started without a problem.Â
Heâd tried too hard to get to a comfortable place with you, but again he felt back at square one, sitting in awkward silence like he did this morning. Your hold on him wasnât as tight as usual, and you didnât seem to care how unsteady it was with every turn of the bike.Â
You rode down the street about ten miles or so before coming across a small fishing town, with restaurants, bars, neighborhood markets, and even a cozy little motel. Much better looking than the one youâd stayed in the night previous.
Heâd been the one to get checked in tonight, getting everything settled and making sure you were comfortable. You still werenât in a chatty mood, but youâd loosened up just enough to have civil conversation, and answer the questions he would ask you.Â
He let you take the first shower tonight, and you were out in only a few minutes, racing to get tucked into bed as quickly as possible.Â
He took his time, knowing you were probably just going through the motions of being here, and he needed to let you experience it at your own pace. After all, you remember this place, and he doesnât. The only thing he recalls are the torturous nightmares that plague his sleep. That alone tells him all he needs to know about the horrors and chaos this place caused.
Heâs surprised to find you still awake when he gets out of the shower, towel around his hips and water running over his body. He thought youâd be asleep, so out of habit he didnât bring his clothes in with him to change.Â
He sees youâre reading your book, the one about the future. Youâre so engrossed in it, your eyes never leaving the pages. He wonders if itâs a coping tool, a comfort item of sorts. Heâd never thought of a book as a security blanket before, being written words on paper.
He didnât say anything yet, unwilling to interrupt how calm you seemed to be now. Just grabbed his clothes and went back to the bathroom.Â
Maybe going back there tomorrow isnât a good idea. He appreciates the openness of your heart to do such a favor for him, but he doesn't want to cause you distress for his own gain. Youâve shown him where it is. He knows how to find it on his own, now. If he can convince you to stay back here, heâll go on his own, find the answers himself.Â
When he emerges the second time, youâve laid your book down on the bedside table, placing a bookmark between the worn pages before settling yourself. He sits down on the edge of his own bed, and makes eye contact. You donât break it first, but you remain silent. A man of few words, but he seemed to be the more chatty one today.
âI didnât say anything before, but you seemed a little, uh⊠scared, earlier.â
You didnât change the expression you wore, but somehow he could feel the shift in your emotions. He just wanted to ask and see if this was too much for you.
âI wasnât scared, just remembered some stuff is all,â You sighed out, laying down and still looking over at him here and there, but not willing to speak more than what youâd said.
âYou wanna talk about it?âÂ
It was an open offer, but he already knew the answer. For someone who seemed so extroverted and talkative when he met you, youâd somehow turned into a reserved and silent little girl since this morning.
âNoâŠâ You trailed, the word coming out soft and gentle.
âOkay,â he nodded, getting comfortable before rolling over and calling out to you as you turned out the light. âGoodnightâŠâ
âNight, Logan.â
-
In the morning, you were already awake, clinging to your knees as you focused very hard on looking out the window by your bed. When he looked at the clock and read six, he figured you must not have slept well. He barely slept most of the time. His regeneration made it easy to stay awake days at a time, and he only needed a few hours to function. Not to mention he was often plagued with nightmares. He hasnât had them the past few nights, which he finds strange, but at the same time, he isnât complaining whatsoever.Â
He swung his legs out of bed when he saw you were unmoving, just like yesterday at the lake.Â
âHey,â he placed a hand at your shoulder, softly breaking you from your endless stare. âYou doinâ alright?âÂ
âYeah, I just woke up a little early.â
Your little smile was forced, and he could tell, but didnât say anything to negate your response. He just sat down beside you on the edge of the bed, looking outside the window where your gaze lingered. There was nothing specific to look at, just a view of the parking lot, and a few trees framed a small log cabin bar next door.Â
âI uh⊠I had an idea last nightâŠâ he trailed, gaining your attention as you turned to him. âWhat if we took a few days.â
âWhat do you mean?â you furrowed your brows, tilting your head as you laid it on your curled up knees.Â
âI mean, what if we donât go to the base right away?â he suggested with a shrug. It had been a good idea in his head, to straggle behind a few days, and make the journey through the past when you were more settled. âI could tell the way it got to you last night, after you saw it.â
âLogan, Iâm fine. Promise,â you nodded your head as if to assure yourself, but even as you were doing it you knew it didnât look convincing.Â
âYou werenât fine,â he corrected, unafraid to voice his concerns by now. âLook, you brought me here, and Iâm really grateful⊠but you were uncomfortable to even look at that place, and I could see that.â
You huffed out a sigh, shaking your head and trying to seem like there was no reason for concern. You didnât want him to back out after coming all this way just on your account. This was for him, not for you.Â
âIâll be okay,â you put on a more stern face, grabbing his hand. The gesture was more for your own comfort rather than his, but even still, you meant what you said. âIâd spent a long time trying to forget that place, and last night everything just sort of came back⊠but as long as youâre there, Iâll be okay.â
He listened constantly, the warmth of your touch was always so energizing to him. It made him feel like he was somehow stronger and charged with determination. He figured it had something to do with your mutation, and his ability to survive it. Not just survive, but thrive on it.
âYou saved me from Stryker, Logan,â you let your legs fall from their curled position, scooting just a bit closer to him, his eyes never leaving yours, and his hand still lingered around the skin of your own. âI feel safe when Iâm with you.â
His chest tightened when he heard those words. Heâd realized only now what the professor's words meant a few mornings ago. He recalls exactly how they were said, and why.Â
Donât hurt her, Logan.Â
It wasnât just about the ability to touch, which he would admit was definitely a struggle in itself when heâd thought about how long youâve been alive, with no one to cling to. Aside from the skin to skin contact, you trusted him. You felt safe in his presence. Most of all, you were doing all of this for him without asking anything in return, and he figured you didnât even care if you got anything out of it in the long run.Â
Charles didnât want Logan to fall all over you in immediate love and commitment. He just wanted him to take care of you, attend to you and make sure you werenât without comfort, especially in this terrible place you were headed.Â
Her pain will become your own.Â
It wasnât about you becoming vengeful if you got hurt, and it wasnât about your loved ones making him pay for his actions. He understood that now, too. It was about the guilt and shame he would feel for not having been there to help you should anything happen. Should this very situation happen. He wonât let you go it alone.Â
âCâmere,â he sat further back, raising his other arm and beckoning you to sit closer with him.Â
You didnât even hesitate to climb under his wing so to speak, and lean against him as heâd gestured for you to do. He wrapped that arm around you, his head resting over top of your soft and slightly unruly morning hair. His other hand stayed in yours, unbudging for the time you sat there.Â
At one point youâd felt so calm you closed your eyes, just absorbing his energy and feeling the comfort from it. It was a rough and hard facade at first, but his energy held layers, and the more you relaxed into him, the better you could feel what lies beneath. You could feel his gentleness, and his soft spirit, willing him to go wherever the wind blows. You could feel the slight sadness and confusion that he seemed to internalize every day. Probably from lacking his past, the memories and the people he used to have before Stryker messed him up.Â
âI think taking a few days doesnât sound so bad, you know?â You said quietly, just loud enough to reach his ears.Â
âYeah?â he smiled, looking down at you when you nodded. Your expression was happier than it had been before, the traces of fear were gone from your eyes. âItâll be fun. Iâll show you a good time, then maybe you can change your mind about Canada.â
âUnlikely,â you laughed softly, your own smile taking over as you met his eyes. âYouâre not so bad, for a Canadian, though.â
âIâll take what I can get.â
Heâd stuck to his word.Â
Heâd shown you a good time around the small town, though he claims heâs never been there before. All the small business families were very kind and embracing, although it got to a point where talking to them was becoming detrimental to the length of your trip. Everywhere you went into, whether it be a shop, a small town bakery, or even an entertainment hub, there were people recommending things to do and see. And of course, you were not one to say no to an Adventure.Â
On the back of the motorcycle, youâd gone practically all over the town, meeting people, and always being introduced the same way by Logan.Â
âIâm Canadian, sheâs not⊠She doesnât like it here much, I wanna change her mind.â
You laughed almost every time at the way the people would react, but would nod gleefully when they made suggestions on activities. You found yourself liking Canada, but only because Logan was here. He was making you laugh, and smile wider than you think you ever have. Not even three days into this endeavor, and already youâve decided youâre falling for him.Â
You donât know how deeply he reciprocates those feelings, because heâs a flirt with nearly everyone⊠but the soft and gentle moments, like this morning, lead you to believe thereâs something else there. Some part of him that is drawn to you like you are to him.Â
His lingering touch on the small of your back when he opens the door and guides you through, or the arm slung around your shoulder to steer you in a different direction when something interesting catches his eye. Even the way he nonchalantly fixes your hair when heâs talking to you and the wind blows it out of place. Itâs all so casual in the way it happens, and yet, it means everything to someone like you. Someone who has lived for two centuries without the normalcy of touch and comfort from another person.Â
You try not to focus too much on what it means, and decide to live in the moment to enjoy each time those little touches happen.Â
By the end of the day, you think maybe heâs taking you back to the âCozy Pine Tree Innâ that you were rooming at⊠but instead he pulls into the parking lot across the sidewalk.Â
The half-working neon sign over the porch read âJackalope Neighborhood Pubâ and when you looked inside, there must have been about ten people total, including the two bartenders behind the counter.Â
It wasnât a huge place to begin with, and the population of the town was probably less than the amount of students you had each week, but it was cozy, and you appreciated the warmth of it all, even though it was brutally cold.Â
âGo on inside, I gotta put this under that covering in case it snows,â he encouraged, letting you hop off with a spring in your step.Â
The inside was just as you thought it would be. Cozy, warm, dimly lit. The walls were covered in old pictures and heads of various hunted animals from up in the mountains. Sitting down at the bar, you shed your jacket and let it hang on the back of your low-back stool, keeping your gloves on for safety.
âHi there, pretty darlin,â a man came up beside you, a smile on his face and a drunken twinkle in his eye.Â
âHi,â you smiled back kindly, nodding to him.
âNever seen you here before, I guess youâre new,â he came a bit closer, and even though he didnât try anything yet, it made you nervous when people get this close. Your skin is covered, but it still makes you uneasy.
âIâm just visiting, actually⊠I live in New York.â
No, you didnât owe him an explanation, but you felt the only way to keep him at bay would be to answer his curiosities as quickly as you could, not giving him room to think about anything else.Â
âWhy donât I buy you a drink? A pretty girl in a place like this needs a drink.â
âIâm okay, but thank you. Iâm actually here with someone, heâll be back in a second,â you spoke quicker when the man took another step beside you, leaning up against the bar now and reaching for your hand.Â
âAwe, câmon⊠mâsure your buddy wonât mind,â he tried to grab at your forearm in a teasing manner, but you pulled your hands from the counter, pulling your sleeves down to cover the skin of your wrist that your gloves didnât quite shield.
âDonât touch me,â you rushed out, a panic beginning to pour over your words. âYou could get hurt.â
âI could get hurt, huh? You're gonna hurt me, pretty thing?â
âYou donât understand,â you breathed shallow, trying to keep calm to no avail. âPlease, just leave me alone.â
âBaby, I think you want me to stay right here,â he again got closer, trying to cage you in by bringing his arms on both sides of you and trapping your stool in front of him.Â
Simply trying to get out of the situation without causing a scene, you leaned forward against the bar, pushing at one arm to try and sneak out⊠but as it turns out, you didnât even have to.
Logan pulled the man away by his neck, looking him face to face and giving a harsh but somehow unbothered stare. This man was of no real threat to him, clearly.
âLeave my girl aloneâŠâ he let out calmly, though it was filled with threat. You knew heâd only added the possession for effective purposes, but you felt your heart stutter in your chest at the sound of it.Â
The man didnât even speak another word, rushing off to the other side of the bar. He wasnât a small man by any means, but Logan, standing at six foot two, with a strong build and a deep temperament was sure to scare anyone off.Â
Logan sat down at the bar next to you, ordering a beer for himself, and a whiskey for you. He owed you some payback Jack Danielâs, if he remembers correctly.Â
âThanks,â you threw him a smile and a nod, which he returned.Â
âGuyâs a creep,â he let out, his brows raised and an eager look on his face when the beer bottle was set in front of him. âHope he didnât ruin Canada for you.â
You laughed for what had to be the hundredth time today, shaking your head.Â
âOf course, not. The only thing that could ruin it is what we actually came here to do,â you joked, sipping on your drink as soon as it was put in front of you.Â
There was a beat of silence, before a thought that popped into Loganâs mind turned into a question.Â
âSo, how long have you been at the school?âÂ
You gave him a glance, tilting your head and trying to think of an answer that made sense.
âWell that depends, do you mean as it is today? Or when it first started?â You found yourself turning towards him more instead of facing the bar.
âUh, all of it?âÂ
He took another swig and chuckled at the strangeness of your insistence for elaboration. It was a long and complicated story, but you had to find a simple and short way to explain it.
âCharles found me by cerebro a long time ago, when I was in New York City studying for my history degree,â you took another drink, eyes watching the ice swirl around the bottom of the glass as you tipped it in different directions. âHe snatched me up, and a bunch of other mutants, and we saved the world⊠Which I guess is a typical Tuesday now, but back then it was a big deal for us. The professor had opened the school, but I left right after some of the others did..â
âYou left? Why?â His confusion stemmed from what heâs seen. That place was your home, and those people were your family. He doesnât know why any mutant would want to leave the walls of that mansion, where it was safe.
You shrugged, a bit hesitant to even try and remember what the real reasoning was. âIt was the sixties, everyone wanted their own path of freedom. That was the thing back then, wasn't it? Free love, free drugs, free spirits.â
He raised a brow, looking at you with a bit of surprise, which faded just as fast.Â
âI keep forgetting how old you are,â he smirked, huffing a small laugh and shaking his head. âIf I didnât know any better Iâd say you were barely an adult.â
You often thought about that. What you would have looked like if youâd been able to grow older. Would your face have thinned out from its girlish fullness? Would you have formed little crows feet at the corners of your eyes? Would you even resemble the same person youâve looked in the mirror to see for all these years?
âIf you want to be technical, Iâm physically twenty.â
âAwe, just a baby,â he teased, giving you a slight elbow to the arm. âSo is that part of your mutation, then?âÂ
âNo, actually,â you began, throwing back the rest of your drink before explaining further. âThe way my body works is like anyone elseâs⊠I have to have energy and sustenance to survive, all that nonsenseâŠâ
Heâd been very interested to find out about you, since heâd yet to find anything out about himself. Especially since heâd figured your mutation was the reason for your long life span.Â
âBut since Iâm made up of different kinds of energy, matter, antimatter, and a third substance unknown to science yet, I can draw sustenance from things other than food and rest.â
âLike what?âÂ
You took your little green glove off one hand, and reached for his forearm, which he was currently leaning on against the bar. You focused on doing what youâd done the night that Rogue had injured him, forcing energy into him instead of taking it.Â
âYou feel that?âÂ
His eyes got a bit wider, and he watched your hand, there was just the slightest bit of an iridescent glow around his skin where you touched him. It was vague and unnoticeable if you werenât really looking, and he was. âYeahâŠâ
âItâs called energy transference. I absorb energy from everything around me, and I can use it to create things⊠shields, small detonations, and as I recently found out with you, the ability to restore energy from depletion,â you listed, trying to get to the point, but of course, he didnât understand how it was all connected.Â
âAnd what, it keeps you from aging?â he asked, like it didnât make any sense, and to be fair, you didnât really lead with the cause, so you understood his confusion.Â
âNot really, noâŠâ you thought back to the day it all happened, so many years ago and yet youâll never forget it. âWhen I absorb energy, it sustains me⊠but when I turned twenty, I was struck by lightning.â
He let out a low whistle, thinking to himself that it was a wild turn of events in your background that he wasnât expecting.Â
âThe professor thinks it caused a power surge in my anatomy. Being able to absorb the strike instead of it killing me, my cells were able to store that energy and prevent me from aging.âÂ
He understood now, blinking a few times as the process settled into his mind. He wonders what else your powers can do, but doesnât want to keep pushing you on it.Â
âHuh,â he looked to the bar for a minute, eyes going over the spot on his arm that still held just the slightest glow of energy without being easily seen. âI donât really age all that much eitherâŠâ
âI heard,â you replied, giving him a once over. He was probably one of the most beautiful men youâd ever come across, and knowing that his aging process was also stunted was nearly a blessing in your eyes.Â
âI still do, just real slow,â he explained, running a hand through his hair, the kitty ears becoming more prominent when he did. âGuessing by how little Iâve changed in the last fifteen years, I might be close to your age. Maybe a little younger⊠I just donât remember.â
His tone falls into a solemness in the end, and you frown at the change in his energy. Heâd been having a good time until now, when he started to think about his past, but there was nothing to find. You again reached out for him, taking his hand like youâd grown accustomed to in the past few days. Touching him would never become dull, or feel any less important. You suspected that years from now you would still feel the same tingly and warm sensation from being able to meet his skin to yours.
âYou will,â you promised. Even if it takes you a lifetime, youâll help him find himself. His past, and who he was.Â
-
The next day was Sunday, and it went on like the day before⊠but one thing was different. Two things, technically.Â
One, Logan held your hand whenever there was a long distance of walking to be done. Two, his funny and somewhat playful introductions from the day before had been given a small twist. Instead of just saying, âIâm Canadian, sheâs not,â there was an added layer of possession. âIâm Canadian, my girl isnât.â
After last night in the bar, something was different. You couldnât put your finger on what exactly made him switch up his actions around you, and towards you, but it wasnât in your direct focus. You were much too busy enjoying the sudden change, and the casualness in which it was implemented.Â
You wondered if you should ask him about it, but every time you gained an opportunity to do so, you lost the courage. Maybe he was just doing it because it felt normal to be this way with a traveling companion? Maybe he was just putting up a front for the townspeople, so he didnât have to try so hard to explain the situation between the two of you.Â
Heâd been so gentle, so domesticated, it felt like heâd grown fully comfortable with you. Youâd been the same with him, squeezing his hand whenever he grabbed yours.Â
His touch, his words, and more importantly, the look in his eyes whenever he caught you staring⊠It all led you to believe there was something lurking, just waiting to be let out.Â
When youâd returned to the motel that night, giggling about the state of his hair after a tree branch full of snow collapsed on him, heâd rolled his eyes, giving you a playful shove into your own bed while he mumbled about ârinsing the pine needles offâ of himself.Â
âIâm gonna go down to the Lobby, I wanna call Ororo,â you said, the wide smile still on your face.Â
He nodded, not even waiting for you to leave before he started stripping down his clothes. His jacket first, then his flannel. When he was left in the gray beater he wore beneath it all, he stopped for a moment, throwing a glance over his shoulder at you with a smirk. He knew youâd been watching, and he was too big of a tease to tell you to look away, or to remove himself to the bathroom.Â
He turned back around, and pulled the thin fabric over his head, throwing it to his pile by the duffel bag.Â
He didnât need to look at you again to know he would catch you staring. He just went about his business as if you werenât there. Asshole.Â
You almost couldnât breathe. The only person on this entire planet that can touch you, and you got lucky enough that it was Logan. This man was strongly built, and chiseled as if from marble stone. He wasnât overly muscular or too big, but just enough that you swore God sent him down from the heavens to roam about the earth as his most glorious creation. The way his back muscles tensed when he reached into his bag for a change of clothes, or the way his abs contracted when he stood back upright, it made your hands fidget. You wanted to stand before him and do the one thing you couldnât do to anyone else. You wanted to touch his gorgeous, warm toned skin.Â
When he was about to head to the bathroom, he finally gave you a glance, his smirk even stronger when he read your expression.Â
âYou gonna go call her or not?âÂ
âRight,â you blinked, standing up and rushing around to grab your jacket and gloves.Â
Youâd rushed down to the lobby as fast as your feet could carry you, the stiff breeze doing nothing to quench your excitement. You loaded two quarters into the payphone in the lobbyâs hallway, facing away from the stench of the crappy bathrooms nearby.Â
You tapped your leg nervously as you told the operator the correct information and waited for Storm to answer. It wasnât too late, everyone should still be awake.Â
The dial went until the second to last before she picked up.Â
âHello?â Her voice sounded like music to your ears.Â
âRo, itâs me,â you said as gently as you could, having to repress your energy. âI just wanted to check inâŠâ
âCheck in? Everything is normal here⊠what about you, have you found the base yet? Howâs Logan?âÂ
Her rushed questions came out when she realized who she was speaking to. Sheâd waited days for this call, and honestly, you werenât one to disappoint.Â
âWeâve located it, yeah. Weâre hiking out there tomorrow,â you explained, leaving out the part where you took a two day joyride through a small Canadian town with the man youâve deemed is your favorite Canadian. âAnd Loganâs good. Weâve been having a great time so far.â
âA great time, huh? So I was right to be afraid that Iâd never see you againâŠâ she trailed, only partly joking. In truth, she wants you to be happy, but she also wants you to come home.Â
âOh relax, weâll be back before you know it.â
You heard a muffled yelling, like sheâd covered the phone to reprimand some students, before she was back on the line.Â
âWell, tell me everything, whatâs Canada like? Is it as bad as you remember?â She teased, figuring by the sound of your voice and the smile she could practically hear coming through the phone, that your opinion had been swayed.Â
âCanada itself is fine, but Logan is something else entirely,â you raised a brow, leaning into the phone panel on the wall and twisting the cord in your fingers like a love-struck schoolgirl. âDid you know he was Canadian?â
âI thought he might be, wasn't sure.â
âWell, I take back hating Canada, heâs actually made me like itâŠâ you trailed, fighting yet another wide smile from only thoughts of today. âHeâs made me like him⊠a lot.â
âBaby, itâs only been four days,â she laughed on the other end. You could tell she was debating knocking sense into you, or asking for details. The latter won in the end. âSo did he kiss you, or what?âÂ
âNo, he hasnât kissed me,â you said with a sigh, wishing the statement hadnât been true. âBut heâs been so⊠different. He holds my hand, he hugs me when Iâm cold⊠heâs been introducing me to everyone we talk to as âhis girlâ.âÂ
âSo what Iâm hearing is, I need to be making wedding preparations for when you get back?â She huffed out another laugh, hand on her hip as she leaned into a wall in the mansion. She knew this was going to happen. You got attached to people very easily, but Logan was an entirely different can of worms. He could touch you, he could hold you, and he could be with you in ways no one else would ever be able to. That made him your ideal attachment. If you believed in soulmates, youâd say he was yours. Uniquely created with a mutation that matched your own in the opposite form.Â
âSee, you think thatâs funny,â you laughed along with her through the phone, titling your head and speaking with confidence. âBut Iâm absolutely gonna marry him someday.â
She rolled her eyes, and you could almost hear it through the phone. âAs crazy as you sound, I believe you⊠but give it more than four days to be sure, yeah?â
âFine⊠Iâll give it till the end of the trip,â you taunted. You knew it was crazy to be making these bets now, but you were just so certain that this man would be your endgame. He was the only one who could be⊠right?Â
âThatâs all I can ask for from you⊠Just be safe, and tell him I said hi, okay?â She quickly tried to get off the phone, and you could hear the rowdy children making a ruckus in the background of where she was.Â
âI will⊠tell everyone there that I miss them, and Iâll be back soon.â
âWill do, bye babyâŠâ she rushed out her goodbye before the line went dead.Â
You smiled, mumbling a small âbyeâ under your breath as you hung up the phone and headed back for the room.Â
The room was a bit steamy when you first walked in, with the bathroom door having been left open to air out. Logan was reclined in the bed furthest to the wall, nothing but flannel bottoms on while he was kicked back and relaxed. He had one arm behind his head, and his other perched at his side to hold up a book in his hand. Your book⊠the one youâd finished last night.Â
âHey,â he smiled at you as you walked through the door. âSorry I didnât ask, it looks interesting.â
You furrowed your brow with your own surprised smile, shaking your head. âNo, itâs okay⊠I think youâll like it.â
âSo far I do⊠I promise Iâll be careful with it, I know itâs old,â he defended yet again, even though you would give him that precious copy if it made him happy.Â
âItâs fine, whatâs mine is yours,â you kept on, laying your coat on the back of a chair for the night. âBesides, you canât do anymore damage to it that I havenât already done.â
âI noticed you dogear the pagesâŠâ he raised a brow in your direction, as if accusing you of something.Â
âI know, itâs terribleâŠâ you trailed, sitting on the edge of his bed and watching him for a moment. He went back to the book, completely engrossed in what was probably still the first chapter. âWhat part are you on?âÂ
âBurn âem to ashes, then burn the ashes,â he remarked, and you nodded. He seemed to be pretty hooked on only the first few pages. âYou were right, yâknow? About comparinâ this kinda future to ours. Itâs nasty stuffâŠâ
âIt only gets worse, keep reading.â
You got up, grabbing your clothes and heading for a shower. He had been considerate enough to save plenty of hot water for you.
-
The weekend was over, and unfortunately it was time to go where this entire journey was meant to lead. Strykerâs base.Â
The ride to the bridge was silent, but the second you arrived, Logan turned to you with a look of sincerity.Â
âLook, I know that youâre doing this for me,â he began, bringing a hand to your arm in the most gentle way possible. âBut if you start feelinâ like you did the other day⊠I have no problem going in on my own, alright?â
âIâll be okay, Logan. Youâre here with me,â you reminded him, placing your hand over his and giving it a squeeze. âLetâs goâŠâ
He nodded, letting you take the lead, because as was made clear before the trip even began, you were the one who remembered this place, and he was the one trying to regain those memories.Â
âWhen did you come here?â He asked, and it was an innocent question except for the implications.
âI didn't come here, I was taken. I'd just passed the bar exam back in New York, and I was gonna be a lawyer for a while, but Stryker got to me first,â You explained, not taking offense to his wording. Youâd known he was a little brash with the things he said, but he could also be gentle and sweet.
âHow long were you here?â His voice softened this time.
âAbout six years, got here near the start of the program, lived to the end of it.â
âAnd what about me?â Heâd begun walking side by wide with you, not straggling behind like before. His curiosity wasnât the only reason for his questioning, but it was a factor. He mostly just wanted to keep you distracted from looming amongst your own thoughts in silence, getting closer and closer to the base.Â
âYou came towards the end, but he was planning to have you for years. That mutant I told you about, the one who melted the adamantium? They had her powering the machine long before you even came to the island.â
Your explanation caught him off guard a bit. When heâd asked if you came here, you said you were taken, but now you told him he had come⊠meaning he made the decision to do it.
âAnd I⊠came willingly?â He titled his head with furrowed brows, unsure why anyone would want to come to this place, if it was as bad as you say.
âFrom what I understand, you did at first. I think you ran away when you knew of Stryker's plans,â You reasoned, not completely remembering everything. Not that you were even apart of those dealings in the first place.
âDid I meet you then?â
You smiled and shook your head. Youâd wished youâd been able to catch a glimpse of him the first time, what heâd been like before Stryker tortured him and turned him into a piece of metal.
âNo, I never met you the first time. But I could feel you,â you tried your best to describe, nearly failing for how little you could actually say instead of showing him.
He seemed to understand it enough, remembering the way your powers work. He came to a halt beside you, giving you a look and asking the next question. âHow did I feel?â
You stopped, too. You looked at his eyes now, and they seemed so full of something you couldnât explain, but couldnât look away from, either.
âSad⊠Angry.â
âAnd now?â He asked, a serene expression on his features when he was looking at you.
âYouâre still tense, but your emotions are softer, calmer.â You raised a hand to his face, trailing slightly over the facial hair that had slightly grown out the last few days. It suited him, you thought.
After a few moments, you felt a shiver run down your spine from the cold, and snapped out of your daze, continuing on the path ahead, and leading him through an old abandoned tunnel. This tunnel was not full of bad memories, but a rather fond one. The day you had escaped, you followed Scott through this tunnel to meet the Professor on the other side.
He seemed to be taking everything in, noting every intricate detail of the place to try and place it. Nothing sprung from the back of his mind, so he doesnât know if anything significant enough happened here that he might have a cognitive reset, but he keeps trying, going through each stretch of the base like something might pop up.
You froze still when you got to the edge of the cell block. The cages were just as heâd left them, completely and utterly destroyed by his claws.Â
âThis is it, huh?â He stood still, too. The weight of the area was easy to feel, and though he didnât know why, he could almost sense the years of heaviness that was caused here. It was haunting.
âThis is it,â you huffed, taking a step forward and treating it like you would any other place you visited. Itâs just bricks and concrete and steel, itâs not like it should affect you this way. âThe cell on the end is mine, the one three or four down was Scottâs.â
There were motion sensors everywhere. Long since forgotten about, and none were activated, but he could also see the security measures, and some of the poking and prodigy tools they must have used just scattered about. The leftover scenery of a hasty escape, by both the mutants and the inhabitants of this place.
âHow did you even survive this?â He asked, the weight settling in on his shoulders even more, pushing him into the floor.Â
âMost of us didn't. This entire block had new mutants every year. All except me,â you sighed out, running your fingers over the enclosure that youâd been contained in for so long. It was in the past now, and you stood beside the very testament to your escape. The man who freed you and had given you hope. Nothing bad could happen to you here as long as he was with you, now.
âBecause you can't die...â He trailed, a single finger of his looming over the exposed skin of your neck. With him being so close, this little action almost seemed normal, but the cold weather made his hands cold, too, and the feeling of it caused a shiver. You stepped away with a shudder under your breath, but turned around and got close enough again to keep the energy from feeling awkward. No matter how cold his hands were, you still liked when he touched you.
âI wanted to. This was the worst part of my life. I never wanted to come back here.â
âThen why did you?â He crossed his arms, leaning against the cell block and leaning in. He knew the answer, or at least he thought he did. Charles made him clearly aware, not that he didnât know already.Â
âI wanna help you,â you looked down, too scared to meet his eyes and say something else besides what you wanted him to hear. âYou saved me from this place, the least I can do is help you remember it.â
He nodded, thinking that maybe he was pushing too hard. Maybe he just needed to focus on himself⊠but something about this place, it made him feel that strange connection to you again. The one that he didnât think he felt back at X-Manor.Â
He took a few steps towards the frozen doors at the end of the block, likely leading into other parts of the base that were inaccessible.Â
âHow did it happen?â He turned back, wielding a small smirk.
âWhat?â you furrowed your brows, unsure of what exactly he meant.
âThe rescue, how did it happen? Was I heroic?â He posed jokingly, hands on his hips to draw out a laugh from you, and it worked. Even in this place you were scared of, he could make you feel joy.Â
âYeah, you wereâŠâ you closed the distance between you, pushing him into position by the doors to reenact the scene. âIt was pretty late at night, the sirens started going off, we all started panicking, we thought we were getting attacked or something. Most of us were weak, and could barely stand. My legs were likely broken and definitely cut apart from the tests they'd been doing⊠We thought it was the end. And then you came charging down the cellblock with this woman,â you sat back into your cell, feeling no semblance of fear from it now. He ran down to your cell with a cheesy grin, playing along for your amusement. âYou both started to set everyone free. But you were the one who tore open my cage, and without thinking, I let you help me upâŠâ you trailed, watching as per your story, he reached in and helped you to your feet just like he had done all those years ago. âThat was the first time I touched you.â
You kept your hand in his, the tingling sensation still remaining, even though youâve probably touched him a hundred times by now.Â
âWow⊠that uh⊠doesnât sound like meâŠâ he looked away from you, his hand pulling back and hanging it at his side. Heâd broken the charade to think about how inaccurate this all sounded. Even though you were not a liar, and he could take your word for it, he just couldnât seem to think of himself how you did. âGuess it's just a lot to take in..â
Youâd painted him in such a heroic light, he wasnât sure that heroic was a word that fit him very well, much less at all. All he knew of himself was a selfish loner, who occasionally did the right thing out of obligation and not duty.
âIt is⊠take your time,â you tried your best to reel in the happiness youâd felt, because even though being here with him made you feel better⊠he was trying to remember himself, and maybe this wasnât helping.Â
âAnd the woman I was with, did you know her?âÂ
You hoped he wouldnât ask about her, you didnât want to disappoint him.
âI don't remember. She looked familiar, but I couldn't tell you who she was,â you think you saw her with Stryker a few times, but never by his side, always behind him, following orders. âShe died not long after the breakout, the professor found her after heâd come back for the remaining survivors...â
He seemed deep in thought, facing the doors of the cellblock again and clenching his fists⊠was he remembering something?
âAnd I was with her, this woman?â the way he said it implied the depth of what he was really asking.
âFrom what I gathered at the time, yeah⊠but I wasn't in the best condition, so I could have just made it all up in my head. I definitely remember you, though.â
At this he turned back to face you, coming closer and lifting his lips in the very corners to resemble a not quite smile. It still turned your stomach in the best way.
âI'm just unforgettable, huh?âÂ
âCompletely unforgettable. This is a part of my life that I have worked hard and trained myself to forget, but I remembered you instantlyâŠâ you confessed, not daring to look away from him now, when he was so clearly latched onto you. It didnât matter what you said at this point, you were sure he must have known something of your feelings by now.
âBecause I could touch you.â
You shook your head. âIt was more than that. I'd never seen anything like you before.â
âIs that a good thing?â He teased, his full smile finally returning once the air felt lighter again.
You thought about that day. Heâd come running through like a true action hero, saving everyone in his path. He had been here for something else entirely, you think, but he stopped to save you and the others. Heâd been wearing a white beater that night, his shoulders glistening with sweat while his hair bounced with every step he took. It was longer then. The determined look in his eyes was something you also noticed, and the way they softened when he steadied you to your feet, touching your skin as no one had for over two hundred years. Yes, seeing him was a very good thing.
âOh yeah, trust me.â
-
Having searched for other abandoned entry points of the base, and being unsuccessful, you opted to leave, but it had grown dark out, and there was no way you could hike all the way back to the motorcycle before the cold winds set in. It was too dark to even navigate the grounds, anyways.Â
It was decided that you could set up a makeshift camp within the escape tunnel, as it was just slightly warmer than the outside.Â
Logan didnât talk much after leaving the base. Heâd been all fun and games until he realized you both had finally made it to the place with the answers, but there were none. He didnât take his frustrations out on you, but he didnât exactly ignore them, either. In fact, he took to ignoring you instead. You tried striking up a conversation with him, and found he was in too sour a mood, and every comment you made about little things, like the sleeping bag in your backpack, or the water flask kept in his, he seemed to just grunt out a response to get back to the quiet.Â
It wasnât until the dead cold of the night that youâd been shivering your ass off, that you even dared to speak to him again.Â
âThis storm's getting worse⊠I'm gonna freeze to death.âÂ
He rolled over from his sleeping bag on the ground, a slanted brow on his face and a huff when he saw that you were truly cold. He was not in a good mood, and he didnât want to deal with more bad situations.
âI thought you couldnât dieâŠâ he grumbled, leaning up on one arm. You were curled up into a ball, all your layers on your body and the sleeping bag, but the snow was falling hard and fast outside, probably sealing you both into this icy tunnel.Â
âI can't be killed. I can still technically die,â you explained, furthering the lore on your powers. He mentally added it to the list. Almost immortal, but not really so much in snowstorms.
âThen why are you still alive?â He mumbled sarcastically, trying not to be an asshole to the only person he was dependent on the past few days.Â
âBecause I'm careful.â
You sat up, and in the dim light he could see how pale youâd gotten, your lips a shade of cold purple instead of the soft pink they normally held.
âAren't you made of energy? Just warm yourself upâŠâ He suggested, as if you hadnât thought of that. It wasnât even in your ability wheel.
âI'm made of matter and antimatter, I don't radiate heat,â you argued, trying to maintain a sense of calm while being cold enough to power a refrigerator.Â
âFine, you know what? I'm not walking you back to the bike, just get over here,â he let out, holding open the sleeping bag for you to scoot into. Youâd done so as quickly as possible, letting him drop his arm back over you in an instant. Already you could feel the fiery feeling he gave off into the air.Â
âHow are you so warm?â
âI don't know,â he shook his head, closing his eyes and trying to go to sleep. He wanted to be up with the sun tomorrow, so he could get back to the motel and get some quality rest.
âYou donât know why you feel like a toaster?â You joked with a sweet smile, but were quickly reminded he wasnât in the mood.
âDo you ever stop talking?âÂ
âSorry.â
In truth, he did feel bad about treating you like that. Youâd done so much for him, and all heâd done was snap at you when he realized the answers he was looking for were still locked up. He pulled you tighter in his arms, holding you close as if uttering a physical apology. Iâm sorry for being a dick, but thank you for being so kind to me anyways.
-
Having found warmth in you, and another feeling that cannot be described outside of perhaps the simple word: safety, Logan slept better than he had in weeks, months, even. Hell, he doesnât know if heâs ever slept like this, waking up naturally, well rested and without a nightmare in sight.Â
It was late in the afternoon, and he woke up feeling a sense of peace that he didnât go to bed with. Heâd been settled. His anger and annoyance about the failed objective made his skin crawl when the snow had been pouring down, the storm covering the ground with several inches of a white, fluffy covering.Â
Knowing it had been very late in the night when you finally were able to sleep, he didnât want to wake you, but being wrapped around you like a cocoon while you slept would make it very hard to even sit up without causing you to stir.Â
He figured he could wake you up, now, take you back to the motel so you could finish resting while he took a walk, or visited the bar. It had approached his mind the night before, that he would probably go and get wasted at the establishment to try and fill the void that had been left empty by the lack of answers.Â
Slowly, he unraveled the twisted limbs and sleeping bags, hearing your soft grumbling of discomfort when you came to. You werenât fully awake, and your arms grabbed at him, trying to pull him back in subconsciously while your moaning and groaning persisted. He let out a small chuckle at the actions, like that of a child grabbing for the security of its mother.Â
âRise and shine, princess,â He joked, trying to maneuver himself away.Â
You finally remembered where you were, and realized that Logan was the source of warmth that had been keeping you so still and secure.Â
âHey,â you let out with a furrowed brow, wiping over your eyes to try and dull the ache of opening them too soon. âWhat time is it?âÂ
âNot sure, it might be noon,â he guessed, standing on his feet and beginning to collect everything that was still scattered about on the ground of the tunnel.Â
You were silent for a minute, nodding your head and beginning to become more coherent with every minute passed. You soon joined him on collecting things that needed packing away, but did so with a sentiment passed along.Â
âIâm sorry we didnât find anything here,â you murmured quietly.Â
He almost had to do a double take⊠Why were you apologizing? Youâd done him a great service by coming here to try and help him, no matter the results.Â
âSânot your fault,â he furrowed his brow in response. âIâm sorry for treating you like shit last night. Just because Iâm mad doesnât mean I have to take it out on you.â
âDonât be sorry. If I was in your place Iâd be angry, too.â
The way you looked at him was astonishing. Like heâd hung every star in the sky. You looked at him and he felt like no matter the atrocities he knows heâs capable of, and the memories he canât reach, he could do no wrong. Nothing he ever did was bad in your eyes. It was an empowering feeling, but also a curious one. You are far greater of a person than he is, and he knows it⊠so why do you look at him like this?
The answer is simple, youâre in love with him. Heâs the first person you can touch, which is a huge factor, but aside from that, he is kind to you, and genuinely, not just because he has to be.
He remembers what Charles told him before he left. Ask her about a man named CharlieâŠ
âI uhâŠâ he trailed, watching you where you sat, packing away your water flask and flashlight. âI had a talk with the professor before we left a few days ago.â
âAbout what?âÂ
âAbout you, mostly. He told me I was in safe hands,â among other things, but he wouldnât mention that. âAnd he told me that when you were ready I could ask you about a manâŠâ
âA man?â You raised your brows in surprise. You werenât sure if you knew what you were supposed to tell him.Â
âYeah, a man⊠his name was Charlie?âÂ
He could see it, the instant the name left his lips. Your face fell and your brain had to work overtime to try and return it to something neutral, and less traumatized. Your silence made him think that maybe he crossed a line. If you hadnât been ready to talk about this man, then heâd just made a huge mistake. He doesnât know who this fellow is, but he clearly did something to you.Â
âAre you alright?â Logan knelt down, interrupting your blank stare. He could see the memories flashing behind your eyes, the thoughts winding up in your head.
âYes,â you shook out of it, but your smile didnât come back. âIâve been around people that know about him for a long time, I didnât think Iâd ever have to retell the story.â
âYou donât have to,â he shook his head, a hand raising to your arm to try and bring comfort. âI assume itâs a sad story?â
âThe worst one I knowâŠâ you trailed, finally giving a small quirk of your lip in a smile. Looking at Logan for too long made it impossible to scowl forever. âItâs been a hundred and thirty some years just about.â
He whistled long and low, sitting down across from you to fully pay attention.Â
âI started working in a farm house in Virginia in the Eighteen Sixties. I kept to myself as best I could, making beds, doing laundry, washing dishes. Best paying job Iâd ever had so I stayed as long as I couldâŠâ you trailed, taking a deep breath to introduce the main character of this story. âThere was a stable boy there, worked the farm for the family for years before he got promoted to caring for the horses. I hadnât met him until about two months of being there.â
âHeâs Charlie?â Logan lifted a brow inquisitively, fully engrossed in the history you were sharing. You nodded your head to confirm.Â
âHeâs Charlie. He was only nineteen years oldâŠÂ he was the only person that Iâd barely ever talked to that grew fond of me. I didnât even have to do anything,â you joked, dipping your head and remembering the way it all went back then. âHe used to volunteer to help me hang laundry just so we could talk.â
âClassy guy,â Logan teased, watching your face light up with the way you were recalling everything.
âHe was, and so gentlemanly⊠The day he found out about me being what I am, it was a complete accident. Long story short, I killed a chicken. He took the blame for it, and at the end of the day, the family ate it for dinner.â
âHe knew about you?âÂ
âMhm,â you nodded, another smile spreading. âHe didnât care. Heâd never touched me before, and knowing that he never could⊠he still didnât care.â
You sighed, the bliss of the memory fading from view when the next part resurfaced.Â
âI fell in love with him, and eventually he asked me to marry him. Obviously, I said yes,â you paused for a moment, heaving a sigh as tears backed your eyes. âThe day we left for town to get married, there was an accident⊠Some drunk men with a gun were messing around like assholes, and one thing led to another. They started firing off rounds in our direction, and I knew I could block the bullets, but I hadnât told Charlie that. He tried to save me, tried to pull me out of the wayâŠâ
You couldnât even finish the sentence, but Logan already knew.Â
âYou touched himâŠâ he filled in the blank, watching you blink away the tears that started to fall. Your silent and weak nod was heartbreaking, and in under two seconds flat, Logan had his arms wrapped around you, pulling you close to him to feel comforted. He was the only one who could do this, and after hearing your story of a lost love, he knew how much it meant.Â
He is grateful to you and owes you a lot. Being your shoulder to cry on is the least he can do in a situation like this, where you seemed like you just needed someone to hold onto.Â
âItâs been a long time,â you mumbled, sniffing to try and block more tears from falling. Being in Loganâs embrace made it better. âI thought he was the love of my life⊠but Iâve lived so much of my life now without him.â
âIâm sorry,â he ran a hand over your hair, tucking your head under his chin.Â
âI just wish he'd been something like youâŠâÂ
âSomething like me?â He asked, unsure of what you could mean. The way you described him, he seemed perfect. A gentleman, a protector, someone who loved you so much that he was willing to go through life without the most basic of relationship necessities. He didnât feel like he could compare.
âImmune to my mutation.â
Your clarification made him understand, and maybe he shouldnât have uttered his next words, but he did, fully knowing the answer.
âIâm guessing no one else has been,â he let out, beginning to loosen his hold on you.Â
Youâd backed away and looked him in the eyes with your teary, puffy red ones.Â
âSo far, only you.â
âIâm sorry, that sounds lonely.â His embrace didnât leave, but he dropped your gaze for a moment to try and think about what that must be like. To not only be without that kind of comfort, but to constantly have to avoid it at all costs.Â
âSânot so bad anymore. Youâre pretty decent company, and you donât seem to hate being around me... Iâd say I lucked out.â You leaned back into his arms, laying your head on his shoulder this time as you took a deep inhale. The scent of him was intoxicating, and the way he was constantly warm felt like an invitation in itself.Â
He didnât move you, or make you go anywhere. He knew that if heâd been stuck here for days that it would have to be endured for your sake. After hearing of the tragedy in your past, he felt you deserved to sit here in silence, safely and securely wrapped in his strong arms.

Hello!! I'm the same girl who requested for IT reader a while back, and I really liked it!<3 I wanted to try out requesting again so I'm here once moređđ Anyway, are you fine with family-centered stuff? Could you do heavy angst with Father!Number One!Izuku with his little girl? You can decide whatever for the child, really!(but personally I prefer daughter) So, since Izuku is the number one, Y/N is probably the one mostly taking care of their kid. What if there was this huge accident that killed Y/N because the heroes were too late to detain the villain? Plus points if Izuku was the hero assigned. So ever since the death, Izuku is suddenly the caretaker and tries his absolute best to make his kid happy but fails since the kid absolutely loathes him for being absent and for being too late to save their mother. What do you think Izuku will do?? So, yeah!! It's up to you if this isn't weird</3
Its not weird at all my love, thanm you for the req and I'm so glad to have you requesting from me again, feel free to stop by once more and leave some more, youre always welcome<33 I would also like to apologize to you and everyone else who has made a req and I haven't gotten to it. I won't get into detail but I've been busy, I've closed my reqs so I can get all my old ones out, most of my reqs are like months old anyways so here i am clesning out the closet.
...
âmr midoriya, where would you say your life went wrong?â
â ....when I left my wife.. â
Izuku was always infatuated with you, your beauty, your strength, how compassionate and caring you were. He thought you were just neat. You didn't have a quirk yet like him you still made it into UA. You were pretty smart and tried hard at everything you did. He admired you for that, he watched you closely and studied you. Not in a creepy way, but in a "I'm in love with you, notice me" way.
In your second year you'd finally taken a liking towards him, he was quite cute despite his odd haircut. You understood it was due to the trouble he went through in the war, he was strong reliable and terrifyingly selfless. Izuku midoriya was a great guy and you had really liked him, the two of you started going on sweet little dates together, walking in the park sharing an ice cream, going to the movies to see whats new, going to a carnival with some friends and sneaking off alone.
Those were the days izuku wished could've lasted forever, where nothing was wrong, peace was restored and everyone was happy. But as life does. It moves on. The world changes right before tour eyes and before you know it, it's been 8 years. The two of you are still happily together in fact married now, and expecting. Izuku and you had gotten out of college a couple years ago, he became a pro and you were in charge of the Deku Foundation. A silly name for a silly little guy.
Izuku was a family guy, he didn't see his father much growing up so he knew this was what he wanted. He wanted to assure to you, the mother of his unborn child, and to his unborn child that he would be there, always and forever. He held you at night and made you breakfast in the morning, he wasn't always there to eat it with you but he made sure to leave adorable little notes for you to feel special, you kept busy doing work for his company, exercising to try and reduce stretch marks and baby weight in the future, and cooking for fun. It was hard being pregnant but it was worth it. Is what you'd say.
Izuku could never forget the moment you had his baby. Those were the absolute happiest moments in his life, no doubt about it. Watching his baby leave from your birth canal, he seen the way you screamed in agony with the final push. He was so mesmerized by it all, his wife just gave birth to his... beautiful babygirl.
âcongratulations, mr and mrs midoriya, it's a girl.â
When the doctors gave you your baby, he watched closely as she stopped crying immediately at the contact of your skin, your soft voice shushing her sounds away, he pleas and cries powering down as she calmer herself. Its like you were a magical being, izuku was so enamoured with it, with you. With his new baby.
Holding her for the first time was his dream, it was even better than he could've possibly imagined. He sighed and tried to hold back tears, yet they fell asleep if a water faucet was left on, he sniffled and hiccupped as he tried to hold her closely, he took off his shirt so she could feel that skin to skin contact that babies are supposed to love. He read a book about parenting, of course the book would've been better for you to read because it was how to prepare for child birth but either way; it worked.
This moment, truly was the happiest one yet; but as life does. It moves on. And before he knew it 6 years had passed, you're beautiful babygirl was in first grade! She was making friends learning a lot and laughing and playing like kids her age should. She loved the outdoors and loved animals, she enjoyed small things like butterflies and rabbits. She was such a vibrant little girl, a splitting image from izuku too, mind the couple of genetics of yours that had shined through. Izuku loved his girls so much, watching the way you two played together, when you did her hair, read to her, his favorite thing of all was to watch you to crochet.
It was so calming, you would hold her close and show her carefully how to apply the yarn, teaching her how to swap colors smoothly and humming gently to her. Izuku watched you both closely, he's a very observant man, with that being said watching his girls was hos favorite thing to do. It's like you two were a show he could never get tired of, a program that was played just for him.
Izuku was a pro now and as much as he loved you both, he had a job to do. One that he couldn't fail, it ate him away that hr couldn't just sit with his girls all day long. Listen to little stories his baby has to share about her day at school. As much as he disliked it, he would even love to listen to his wife rant on and on about a little dream she had the other night, how the washer was in the kitchen instead of the laundry room and looked like an oven instead. Such odd dreams you had.
Izuku hadn't even realized it, but he had been spending more and more time at his agency, accidentally sleeping there and coming home 4 hours before he had to go back up there. It was tiring, he was tired, yet he had a job to do. And he wouldn't fail. You two started seeing less of him, it saddened your daughter deeply yet you tried to remind her constantly that he is a hero, and heroes have jobs to do. She would nod and give you a smile still laced with disappointment, sadness.
What really pissed you off was when he promised your little girl he'd be there for her science fair, yet didn't show. She won and everything, he promised her he'd help with making it. Whoops he couldn't do that because he was working. No matter! He apologized so you both just slid it off. However this was the last straw for you. Driving home you were furious, seeing your little girl in the mirror with a frown as she fiddled with her ribbon.
You stayed up late that night. Assuring that you'd catch him, and once you did you two argued. Which is something you'd never done, of course you two would bicker and disagree on things, but this was unlike those times. You were both yelling and had possibly woken up your daughter, but neither of you could care. Too blinded by your own fury, you had banished him and he left without a word. Without a second thought, without looking back.
â I wish I looked back.... I wish I would've apologized, I wish I could've been there when she needed me; when they needed me... â
That was the last time he'd seen you alive.
It was a normal day for the most part, besides the fact that you two had argued two nights before and hasn't spoken since. Izuku hadn't seen his daughter nor spoken to her either, it was eating away at him but he didn't have time to focus on that right now.. he was getting a signal from one of his sidekicks out on patrol.
â deku! We need you! There's been an accident! There's a huge fire breathing villain who's trapped a woman and her daughter!â
A woman and her daughter.... That had to be a coincidence. It was, it had to be. Tons of people have daughters and just so happen to be women as well. Hell, he bets it's not even her daughter!!
âits- it's your wife...â
A loud scream was heard on the sidekicks line, izuku was terrified, he moved without even thinning jumping out of the nearest window zooming through the air trying to reach you. So many things going through his mind, why were you out? What were you doing? You never go out, why now! Why was his daughter there?
He was trying his damnedest to reach you, he couldn't help but feel like time was slowing down. Like he wasn't fast enough, meanwhile in actuality he was moving faster than the speed of sound. So why wasn't he there yet? He groaned in annoyance at this, he couldn't shake the terrible shrieking sound that came from the other line.. it terrified him.
â come in! Is everything alright?! What's the situation?! â
âi...â
â what?! what is it, spit it out?! â
â I'm sorry... â
Sorry? Sorry for what? Why the hell was he saying sorry? The only question izuku could find himself wondering. Upon arriving he sees people running, fire burning everywhere and debris filling the air, he coughed through the smoke putting on his mask and zooming through the thick fog. He found his sidekick, no wonder his voice was so hoarse and dry, he had collapsed and passed out. Izuku took him to the nearby ambulance that was present before going back through the smoke to find you.
Other heroes were arriving on scene and searching for other civilians, trying to get them out while others tried taking down the villain, he was huge and was not going down without a fight. Izuku couldn't even try to worry about the villain, you and his daughter were his main focus.
â daddy! Please help us! â
The sound of his daughter wailing with a cracky voice, it shattered his heart he followed the sound of crying until he found the two of you, your daughter by your side holding your arm tears falling down her reddened cheeks, she was dirty and covered and muck. She also just so happened to be covered in...blood.
â princess... what.. what happened.. â
His daughter ran into his arms bursting into even more tears hiccuping and sobbing. Her cries were loud and full of sadness anyone within a mile radius could tell and even hear, izuku picked you up in his arms not even taking the time to assure you were okay, not checking a pulse or to see if you were breathing. He just swooped you up in his arms bridal style and had his daughter on his back, telling her to cover her mouth. He zoomed through the smoke and handed you both over to the ambulance, they were quick to ail you both.
Izuku was soon to go help the other heroes in scene but first he looked back to you, to see them giving you air and performing CPR, his eyes widened and just as he was about to go back over to you, he tried to rush to your side before being caught by none other than..
â deku, c'mon we need you. â
â kach- erm- dynamite. I can't, I have toâ â
â come. on. â
The fiery blonde yanked the large green haired male by his suit and dragged him back into action, he thought this was for the best. Leaving your side this last time to finish slaying this beast.
The fight was over and everyone who had been injured was taken to the nearest hospitals, the villain who had caused all of this trouble was taken into custody and was going to be behind bars for a long time. During the fight people could tell izuku was letting out pent up steam on the villain, he could've killed him. He was sure of it, everyone was. He had be pulled off in order for him to stop. You were hurt and his daughter could've gotten hurt. Izuku felt the villain deserved far much worse than to be behind bars. But at least he was rotting.
Izuku went to see you in the hospital, waiting for hours on end, pacing back and forth a million things on his mind. His daughter had been released a while ago, she was fine apart from the smoke inhalation. He couldn't believe she didn't have a single scratch on her, but he was glad and very much thankful. She sat in the nearest seat taking it easy, watching izuku pace around before finally, some news..
â mr midoriyaâ â
â what- what's going on is my wife okay?! what's the problem, can I go and see her?? â
â I uhm... ahem. I'm afraid I have some bad news.. Mr midoriya. â
Izukus expression fell, his eyes widened yet his face was completely blank. His heart dropped and completely shattered at the words the doctor said to him. His daughter immediately broke down. Tears were brimming in his eyes, he was borderline shaking in his red boots. He felt bile rising in his throat, the burning sensation making tears fall. They fell and never stopped. He held his daughter close that night. Never letting her go. He was afraid if he did... She might leave him.
....
â I see. and how does that make you feel?â
â ... are you seriously asking me how my dead wife makes me fucking feel. â
â yes. It's been 9 years, you've retired from hero work and have been seeing me for quite some time yet we never seem to talk about her. â
Fuck... 9 years had completely flown by him. He hadn't even realized.. you'd been gone for 9 years....
â I... I.. â
â your daughter will be a freshman at UA this year, correct? How does that make you feel? Have you checked in with your daughter? Have you asked how she's been? How has she coped with her mother's death? â
Izuku was speechless. 9 years had passed, he can't seem to remember much and his daughter.. the last piece of you he has, is starting school at the very high school you two met at. Where did the time go...
AN: I'm not good at angst if you can't tell, this is a shite ending and uhm I've been feeling like shit so I hope this makes you feel shitty, but in like a good way yk? I want you to feel so hurt and sad that it makes you think 'wow.. this is some good shit right here.'

DESERVE IT - PART ONE
Javier Peña x f!reader
Summary: you defend Javier after some other agent makes rude comments about his personal life, not allowing anyone to hurt him
Warnings: angst, fluff, mentions of past relationships, mentions of bad relationship, Javi being ashamed and embarrassed
A/N: Just a scenario I had with Javi before bed last night that stuck with me the whole day, so I had to do something about it. And no, no smut for Javi this time đ
1.6k words
You and Javi were focused on the pictures you received from the informants, watching them closely and trying to draw any detail from them that could somehow help you guys get a clue on Pablo's whereabouts.
You weren't Javi's partner, but since Steve's wife left him, you decided to step in to help out Javi, as he was overloaded with work.
You two had grown closer in the past year, when you moved into the same apartment complex as the other agents did.
You weren't an agent, but you were in charge of supervising all the paperwork and sending it back to the American government.
Javi got closer to you just like he did with every woman: by throwing his charms on you. Which would've worked if you weren't still hurt because of your last bad breakup.
When Javi made a final attempt at seducing you, you were straight up honest with him. You wouldn't jump into his bed because you were still scarred from the last time you allowed someone in, but you assured him you admired him for being honest as well, not playing with anyone's feelings and getting straight to the point.
After that, Javi found a friend in you, and you found a friend in him.
He did everything he could to protect you and you did everything you could to make sure he was safe, you often checked on him, made him meals when you knew all he had was a pack of cigarettes and liquor.
And God, Javier was sweet. He still flirted with you, of course, and you flirted back, he knew you had no intentions of sleeping with him, but it was kind of your thing, he didn't save up any pet names for you. You were querida, cariño, princesa, cielo⊠you name it. You just felt so at ease with each other.
He was the kind of guy who would leave chocolate on your table or a small flower he found on the street, whatever he saw that reminded him of you. It didn't matter if it was something small, it just made your heart melt and feel welcome there.
You also were aware of Javi's sexual behavior, and not only you, everyone was and you were familiar with his reputation. You knew he slept around, had no strings and even paid for sex, but you never brought it up. Some people called him a manwhore, and though in practice he was one, it never affected how you saw him.
Javi also really appreciated how you never brought it up and on the rare occasions one of the guys from the office made a comment or a joke about his lady friends or his favorite brothel in your presence, you completely ignored it and began talking business instead.
You could tell Javi was trying his best to find something in those photos, but it seemed like a dead end task. So you turned to the pile of paperwork he still had ahead of him and sighed.
"I'll help you with that, Javi⊠you can take a bathroom break or go for a coffee if you want"
Javier felt his heart clench in his chest at your sweet offer. That wasn't your job, you had no obligation to do that, hell, not even he had the obligation of doing Steve's job but he had to just because he was a little pussy after his wife left him. Javi looked at you for a second, wondering why Steve couldn't be strong like you were. You'd had an awful breakup and though he didn't know the whole story, he knew you enough to assume you just picked up the pieces and started over again.
As if you read his mind, you smiled softly at him "I know you're pissed off at Murphy right now, this is definitely not the best time to have a man down in our team, but cut him some slack. He's going through a real hard time, and a broken heart can really take us down, I know it did when it happened to me, but he'll get over soon" you reminded Javier and placed your hand on his in a comforting way.
You both didn't notice one of the CIA agents approaching your table, and only realized your hands were still touching when the man let out a laugh.
"Y/N and Agent Peña? What is this, holding hands in the office now?" Carlos eyed the two of you up and down and shook his head.
"I can't believe this, Y/N⊠I expected more from you. You're the office's muñequita. All of us wanted a chance to get you and you go and choose Peña?!" He scoffed.
"You could do so much better than this manwhore, you do know he can't keep it in his pants and all the prostitutes in the country know his name, right?"
You stiffened in your chair and took a quick look at Javi, seeing he gripped the sides of the table to the point his knuckles turned white, he was tense and angry, and yet he didn't dare look up and face Carlos.
It took you a split second to realize Javi was ashamed.
You slammed your hands on the table and got up abruptly, dragging the attention of both men. You stood at full height, though the CIA agent was taller than you, you wouldn't let him intimidate you at all.
"When you say I could do much better do you mean yourself? Because that's hard to believe, Carlos. Not only are you painfully unattractive but extremely stupid and rude" you spat at him "you're married and you chase after women while your wife is waiting for you at home, so I'm guessing you're the real manwhore here. Javier is single and he can do whatever he wants, and trust me when I tell you he does it better than any other man and certainly better than you ever will. Never talk about him like that with your filthy mouth or I swear I'll knock on your door and tell your wife all about your little adventures" you groaned feeling your blood boiling at that whole situation.
It was extremely uncalled for. You didn't care if Javier had troubles with some other agents, he was your friend, he always protected you and took care of you when you needed and you would never admit someone treated him like that in front of you.
Carlos gulped and left without a word. You sat back down and looked at Javi, he finally looked at you in the eyes but remained silent.
"Y/N⊠I-" he started but you could tell he was still embarrassed about the whole situation so you shook your head.
"I'll finish these tasks at home, can you give me a ride?"
âąâąâą
The ride home was silent and you respected that. You weren't sure if Javi got angry with you or if he was just channeling his anger towards Carlos. Either way, you didn't want to bother him.
Javier was still a gentleman and carried the piles of work you both needed to work on. He placed them on your coffee table and sat on the couch, surprising you as you'd figured he'd be back to his apartment.
You got him a drink and one for yourself and you both began working on the paper. He was silent as his eyes scanned the papers even if his brain couldn't process what was written.
"You didn't have to defend me like that, Y/N"
He broke the silence and stared into your eyes.
"Yes I did, Javi. Because you would've done the same for me. Carlos is a pig and he walks around that fucking place as if he was still in high school bullying every one he meets" you told him "he had no right to talk about you like that, and he also doesn't have the right to treat me like that⊠even if we were fucking, it's none of his business and I don't think you are bad at all"
Javi licked his lips as he nodded.
"About what he said⊠about me being a manwhore⊠Do you agree?" He knew he was stepping into a cloudy area, at the same time he wanted to know your true opinion. He was also scared of hearing the truth.
You bit your lower lips and sustained his look for a while, thinking of how to answer his question.
"If you asked me about any other man, you know⊠my opinion on yourâŠlet's call it sexual behavior, I would agree⊠but I can't when it comes to you, Javi" you extended your hand and touched his arm "what I guess I'm trying to say is that you are different. I like you and I would never look at you differently because of it, I don't think it's a good lifestyle but I won't despise you for that" your hand went for his face, cupping his cheek gently as his sad brown eyes melted you on the inside and out.
"You really think that, hermosa?" You nodded
"I just don't understand why you do it⊠I mean, look at yourself Javier, you can make any girl weak at the knees, you can have any woman in a heartbeat⊠I think you deserve a relationship, a wife, kidsâŠ. The whole package, Javi. I don't know why you think you don't deserve to be happy, when in reality you are the one who deserves it most"
You leaned in and kissed his lips so softly, at the same time his hands clung to your hips.
Javi's heart was beating so fast at that moment. All of your words, your kiss, your touch and your lips, it all had a deep impact on him. He didn't know why someone like you could like someone like him, but he continued to kiss you, even if he didn't deserve it.
____
A/N: I love Javi, I hope you guys enjoyed it! â€ïž

âlike an angel to meâ
A/N: so I think this is the fastest I have ever written something in awhile! Every time I think thereâs no possible way for me to want Joel even more, I surprise myself with something like this đ„Ž
~word count : 5.3k~

The last thing Joel Miller expected you to do was laugh. Not just giggle, or a snicker, no. It was a full on wheezing laugh.
âOh my fuckinâ god. Youâre not actually serious, are you? Wow, is this supposed to make my panties wet or something? Cusâ itâs sure doinâ the complete opposite!â
His face turned beet red all the way to the tips of his ears. The glass that was clenched firmly in his fist was on the verge of shattering. Guess he couldnât handle his fragile ego being busted open, huh?
âYâthink youâre so funny, huh?â His confidence was wavering on thin ice as he reached for the bottle instead.
âOh, yeah. I think I am absolutely fucking hysterical. What? You donât get your dick wet enough around here as it is? Oh, shit! Is it because your dick is small? Itâs alright, Joel. Most women donât care about size anyway.â You were smirking through your teeth as you sipped away at what was left in your glass.
The glowering man sitting across from you took one harsh swig from the bottle before he cracked his neck to the side. âI get my dick wet around here plenty. Thank you for showinâ some concern though. Ainât you just a real peach? Why even mention my dick size, huh? Ask any woman around here and theyâll all tell you that I am well endowed.â He nearly growled as he slammed the bottle down along the coffee table.
âGeez, donât go and get your panties all in a twist, Miller. I have no interest in knowing anything that has to do with you dick, I assure you. God, I swear all men, even after the world has gone to shit, are the same. Yâcanât handle someone busting your ego? Well, arenât you just some delicate fuckinâ china.â You scoffed and placed your glass down on the coffee table like a dignified person.
Oh, you didnât just bust his ego, you shattered it right down to the core. He could handle some bruising, sure. But god, if he didnât want to tear you into two right nowâ
âMaybe I shoulda let those men in the alley fuckinâ tear you apart, since you think this is so fuckinâ funny. Dâya have any fuckinâ manners at all?! I risked MY fuckinâ skin to save your own and this is how youâre gonna act?!â His voice boomed through the thin apartment walls. He expected you to cower. To profusely apologize for poking the angry bear. Instead, you stood your ground.
âMaybe you should have! You could have just minded your own and let them fuck me up, but instead you what? Wanted to be the hero?! I never asked you to come and rescue me, Joel! Yâwant me to say thank you? Fine. Thank you oh so much for saving me, Joel Miller! How can I ever repay you?â You mockingly batted your lashes, followed by an eye roll as you rose to your feet.
âYeah, well, next time I ainât gonna be there to save your skin! So, why donât you jusâ go on back out into the streets, and see what happens!â He shook his head tightly as his jaw clenched like a fist.
âGreat! Thatâs the best news ever because like I just said, I never asked you to rescue me!â You yelled exasperatedly as you made your way over to the door. Your head still throbbed, and your nose felt like a million tiny shards were digging into the flesh, but youâd much rather spend a night in lock up than another minute with this man.
âGreat! Jusâ be on your way then, girlie!â He grumbled through his teeth.
âOh, and Joel? For the sake of all the women in the QZ, why donât you just keep your dick in your fuckinâ pants.â You gave him the middle finger before yanking his apartment door open. âDo not fuckinâ follow me home.â Was the last thing you said before you slammed the door behind you on the way out.
âOh, donât you worry! I ainât gonna follow your bratty, disrespectful, no goodââ he was cut off by the apartment door swinging shut so hard, it nearly fell off the hinges.
For good measure, the brooding bear got up from where he was sitting and locked the apartment door just in case you thought about coming back. Not that you were going to as you were already halfway across the QZ street heading home.
Joel Miller did not see you again for what felt like months (not really. Heâs just a bit dramatic is all) when all in all reality, it had been two weeks to the date. He thought maybe you had died, or worse; He thought that maybe there was a chance that you got infected. Good riddance.
But then Tess told him that you were in fact alive, but avoiding him.
Joel knew why of course. He was quite the dickhead during your last interaction. Tess couldnât really blame you for wanting absolutely nothing to do with Joel Miller ever again.
Business carried on like usual on their end even without your addictive charm in the mix.
You fucked a FEDRA soldier for extra ration cards just out of spite, and to get Joel Millerâs stupid face eliminated from your brain permanently. If you ever ran into that man again, you wanted to be smelling of another manâs cum just to rile him up all over again.
You wanted to crawl right up into his skin. Cover him in welts and hives to drive him mad. Hell, you wanted to poison him and leave him without the antidote. Fuckinâ Joel Miller and his stupid Texas twang and those piercing brown eyes and massive hands.
Perhaps thatâs how you found yourself outside his apartment door late one night searching for a vice to be filled again.
You knocked once, then paused and knocked twice.
This is fucking stupid. What the hell am I doing?
When you heard no immediate answer from the other side of the door, you assumed that he wasnât home and proceeded to turn on your heel to walk awayâ
The door squeaked open as Joel Miller's head appeared from the doorway.
âFancy seeinâ you here tonight, Angel.â He rasped deeply. You couldnât even see his face yet, and you just knew he had a shit eating grin plastered on it.
âMiller.â You acknowledged him with a tight nod when you finally turned to face him.
He was leaning against the door jamb with his arms crossed and brow raised curiously.
âAnd what is it exactly that you're showinâ up here for?â He knows, of course. Heâs known for awhile, but he wants to hear you say it first.
âSomethinâ that I heard you have to personally ask for. Somethinâ that isnât advertised on your little menu here, Joel.â
his lips curve upwards in a wolfish grin. He cocks his chin to the side as his broad arm comes to rest along the chipped wood on the doorframe.
âWas wonderinâ when youâd finally give in, Angel.â He rasps. Thick and deep. His words hang heavy in the sultry air.
You fought the urge to roll your eyes at his response as you crossed your arms against your chest. âOkay, well, you donât need to be all mysterious about it. Now, can I come in, please?â
âI see you're still at it with being a disrespectful brat, huh?â He pushed himself off the side of the doorframe so that you could make your way inside. The door was pulled shut behind you with a soft woosh of air.
âYep, and I all I could think about these past few weeks of you fuckinâ the disrespectful brat right out of me, Joel.â
I fuckinâ knew it.
âOh, I see. So, thatâs what youâve been up to all these weeks is thinkinâ about me?â He awaited your answer with a bated breath.
âNo.â You deadpanned with a faux sigh. âWas too busy fucking a FEDRA officer for some ration cards. Didnât have enough space in my brain to think about you setting me straight.â You teased with a smirk playing on your lips.
His fists clenched at his sides as his jaw tightened. The thought of you fucking another man, let alone a FEDRA officer?
âHmm. Is that so? Well, I think youâre lyinâ through your teeth right now, Angel.â He wasnât about to let you get under his skin that easily.
âMe? A liar? Oh, Iâm truly wounded. Câmere, Joel. I bet you can still smell him on me.â You purred softly.
His eye twitched as he imagined you screaming another manâs name as you rode his cockâ
He took a few steps towards you and backed you right up against the countertop. He dipped his head down towards your face as his hands came to rest along either side of the cool countertop. His nostrils flared as he inhaled your scent with his nose pressed deeply into the clavicle of your throat. âDid ya fuck him before you showed up here? Answer me, Angel. And yâbetter tell the truth.â His voice dropped an octave that shamelessly sent a pool of arousal dripping through your panties.
âMhm. I fucked him before I showed up here. His cum is still inside of me, Joel. Yâgonna fill me up too?â
His teeth grazed the spot where your neck met your collarbone as he dragged his hot tongue across your skin. âSâthat what Yâwant?â
âSure.â You shrugged almost disinterested.
âThat ainât how this works. Yâtell me exactly what it is that you want from me, and I deliver. Yâgot that?â He asked you sternly as the bridge of his nose dragged upwards across your throat.
âAh. So the women you fuck tell you what they want, and thatâs all you do to them? Well, whereâs the fun in that? Seems kinda boring to me, Joel.â
âYâdonât like my rules, then yâcan fuckinâ leave. Thatâs how things work around here, baby. So, Iâll ask yâagain, what do you want from me?â
âHold on. Hold on, cowboy. Pump the breaks. What if the thing theyâre requesting is something youâre not interested in? You still do it? What about the things that you want? Ainât that important in all this?â
âGod, youâre annoyinâ, yâknow that? Can you just answer the goddamn question? I ainât have all night.â He grumbled impatiently.
Then you did something that neither of you expected. You reached your hand up between your nearly touching bodies and grabbed ahold of his jaw tightly between your fingers and forced him to look directly into your eyes. âNo. Fuck that. The world has gone to shit and youâre not thinkinâ of your own desires? Man, donât you wanna be in charge for once? You think Iâm so annoying and nothinâ but a disrespectful brat? Then show me what you do to women like me. Put me in my place, Joel.â You challenged him.
It was as if something inside of him had snapped. Maybe you were right. Maybe he oughta put you in your place after all. Why only be half in charge of how things played out, when he could take the whole cake himself?
âAlright. Weâll play the game my way then.â He chuckled darkly as his knuckles turned stark white from how hard he was gripping either side of the countertop.
As soon as you went to open your mouth, one of his hands clamped down instantly as he leaned in close. âStartinâ with shuttinâ this smart fuckinâ mouth of yours up. Yeah, ainât so tough now, are ya Angel? Didnât think so. Now, Iâm only gonna ask you once, alright? Get. On. Your. Fuckin.â Knees. Now.â He commanded you.
You dropped to your knees like an obedient dog on a leash waiting to be rewarded with a treat.
âWow, would ya look at that. Guess the bitch can be obedient after all.â He chuckled.
Your eyes narrowed slightly at his new demeanor. You werenât one for teasing, and right now Joel Miller was testing your patience.
âDonât go lookinâ at me like that. Youâre the one who showed up at my door, remember? This ainât goinâ fast enough for you? Well, weâll just see about that.â He tsked under his breath as his hand moved from your mouth to resting along your jaw.
âOpen.â He commanded you as he applied a bit of pressure to either side of your cheeks. When you obediently opened your mouth, he praised you. âGood girl.â Followed by a light loving slap to your cheek. âNow, the way I see it is that you have three holes for me to fuck.â
His grin intensified when your eyes widened at his suggestion. It wasnât that..you were afraid but if he wanted to fuck you in the ass at some point, youâd need to be ready for him.
âOh ho ho. I see. You ainât ever done that before? Hmm. Iâm surprised that a mouthy bratty whore such as yourself hasnât had a cock in her ass before. Well, maybe weâll save that for another time.â He leaned down so he was closer to your face as the blunt ends of his fingernails dug into the skin on your cheeks. His lip curled up into a snarl as his pupils darkened. âBut then again, I am supposed to be puttinâ you in your place. Ainât I, Angel?â
Tears began to spring along your waterline from how hard he was gripping your face. Maybe you were biting off more than you could chew. âYouâre hurting me, Joel.â You gritted out as a few tears leaked down your cheekbones.
âGood.â âNow I have your full attention. Thatâs very good, Angel. Look at you beinâ a good girl with your listeninâ ears. Now, if I do remember from our prior interaction, you assumed that my dick was small. Ainât that right?â
You nodded meekly.
âAh ah ah. Words, Angel. Use âem. I ainât into silence. You speak when spoken to. Yâgot that?â He squeezed your cheeks tightly as tears continued to roll down them.
âYes sir.â You squeaked out.
He loosened his grip on your face, which in turn allowed you to relax your jaw. âWhere were we? Ah! Right. The part where you assumed that my cock was small. Right before you called me some delicate fuckinâ china. So, how about you see for yourself.â He gestured to the growing tent in his jeans. âDonât be shy now. Goâon and see if the women in the QZ are jusâ sayinâ horse shit about my size.â
You swallowed the lump growing in your throat as you felt his eyes burning holes in your skull from how harshly he was staring you down. Your hands quivered under his gaze as you reached for his belt to undo it.
âDonât act so nervous, Angel. Itâs just a cock. It ainât gonna bite ya.â He teased with a chuckle. You could visibly see his hardened cock twitch under the confines.
You undid his belt before looping your fingers through the faded fabric and tugged them down swiftly over his ass and thighs.
You saw the sheer size and the girth of him through the tight fabric of his briefs as his own hand reached down to palm himself through the fabric.
âHoly shit.â You whispered in awe as your jaw fell open.
How in the hell is that supposed to fit?
He seemed to be reading your mind as his hand that was palming himself reached for your own and placed it under his. âWeâll make it fit, baby. Donâtcha worry your pretty little head about that. Although, maybe now is a good time to take back that little comment you made, hmm?â
Your own fingers dragged across the stiff outline of his cock as your eyes flitted upwards to meet his gaze. âI take it back.â
âTake back what?â He pressed.
âSayinâ that you probably have a small dick.â You spoke quietly through the thick rising tension between you.
âAtta girl. See, that wasnât so hard, huh? Still needâya to take it out for me, Angel. Gettinâ awfully painful for me.â He hissed between his teeth when your hands finally grasped the waistband of his briefs and tugged them down. His cock sprang up freely against his taut stomach. The tip was gleaming with a bead of precum that was weeping from the slit.
âWell, it ainât gonna suck itself, girlie. Get to itâ he gruffly requested as he placed one hand along the back of your head and nudged you forward towards his cock.
For a brief moment you thought about just biting his dick off right then and there. Sorry, the voices. You just didnât want to seem too excited. The FEDRA officer you recently fucked had nothing on Joel Millerâs cock. That was for damn sure.
Your glassy eyes stayed locked on his darkened ones as you stuck your tongue out and gave the tip of his cock a light kitten lick. He must have not been too pleased with it because his grip around your head tightened as he yanked your head upwards.
âSuck now, Or you ainât gettinâ shit in return. We clear?â He asked you sternly with his eyes narrowed into slits.
âCrystal.â You mumbled in response before wrapping your palm around the base of his length and gave it a few slow tugs. When you finally obeyed, and he felt the wet heat of your mouth engulfing his weeping tip, his shoulders slumped as he inhaled a shaky breath.
âShitâyeah. There ya go. See, that ainât so hard? Fuckâthatâs good, Angel.â He praised you from above as his hand loosened its grip around your head for a millisecond.
You relaxed your jaw on instinct to slowly inch your mouth further around him. The girth of his cock was stretching your mouth further than it had ever been stretched. Drool mixed with precum dribbled down your chin as fresh tears sprung to your eyes. You truly werenât sure how you were supposed to fit all of him.
Joel didnât want to admit it outloud, but seeing you sitting so pretty on your knees, mouth stuffed with his cock, and little tears leaking from your watery eyes, he never thought you looked so beautiful.
âThatâs it, Angel. Relax a little more. Convince me that youâre actually enjoyinâ this. Câmon. Ainât you a bit of an actress after all?â He chuckled.
Your hands found purchase around his bare muscular thighs as you tried to push yourself back for a gulping of air. Joel didnât allow you the pleasure however as his hand was still firmly holding your head in place. You let out a sound that was nothing short of frustration before the tip of his cock pressed against the back of your throat, igniting your gag reflex to kick in.
Joel loved it.
His eyes rolled back when your throat clenched around him like a fist. His nails scraped lightly at your scalp as he threw his head back. He had received many blowjobs in his lifetime, but most women couldnât take him all in. But once again, you proved Joel Miller wrong.
Feeling rather pleased with your work on him, Joel finally allowed you that breath of air that you so desperately needed as he removed his hand from your head. You immediately pushed yourself back off his thighs as his cock slipped out of your mouth with a light pop. You coughed a few times, gasping as a string of saliva hung from the tip of his cock all the way to your lips.
Before you could fully recover, his warm calloused palms were wrapped around your forearms and yanking you up from the faded tile floor hastily. He proceeded to wipe away your tears as his cock, still very much hard, twitched between you.
âRemember, Angel. Youâre the one that showed up to my apartment like the cheap, bratty, begginâ whore that you are. You asked for this. Yâwanna leave? Doors right there. I wonât stop you.â His thumb brushed the spot just below your eye.
You shook your head immediately. If it wasnât for the constant tingle that simmered between your thighs, you probably would have hightailed out of there.
His smirk was nothing short of proud as he pressed a soft kiss to your forehead.
âVery good, Angel. Very good. Iâm testinâ you, and youâre passing with flying colors. Got your listeninâ ears on and everythin.â Yâknow what happens when youâre a good girl? Yâget rewarded. And Iâm feelinâ mighty generous..so in the next five seconds youâre gonna take your pretty ass on over to the couch, youâre gonna strip down and bend over the side of it. Yâgot that?â
You nodded as your hands already dropped to the hem of your shirt, fingers playing with the frayed ends. âYes, sir.â
He patted your cheek affectionately before he stalked off to his room. You could hear him counting down from five as you scrambled to discard your shirt and tug your jeans down over your thighs. Your pulse quickened as you made your way over to the couch and bent over the side of it. You shouldnât have felt this excited, but Joel Miller truly did bring the inner whore in you out to play.
His footsteps were heavy and audible just as you were reaching for the waistband of your faded panties to drag them down your legs.
âAh. Iâm sorry, Angel. Was five seconds not enough for ya?â He tuts softly under his breath. His footsteps hold a slight swagger as you feel the heat of his body simmering on your bare skin. His hand rests along the back of your thighs before slowly dragging upwards. He grabs a handful of your ass, squeezing and kneading the flesh as your covered pussy clenches around air. âDidnât give ya enough time to take these off, hmm?â He hummed under his breath as he dragged his thumb across your covered core, applying the tiniest of pressure.
âJoel,â you whimper with a sharp breath when you the pad of his thumb pressing against you. âIâmâsorry, sir.â
âSorry?â He sounds slightly confused at your apology. You canât see his face, but you imagine his head cocking to the side as he gazes down at you like a starved man salivating at the wet patch that pools in the fabric of your thin panties. âHoney, this ainât nothinâ you gotta be sorry for.â He reassures you as his head dips down.
You can feel his wiry, coarse beard scraping gently at the base of your spine. His lips on your searing skin are wet, hot, and inviting as he begins to leave open mouth kisses all the way up to the spot between your shoulder blades. You feel both of his massive hands prying your cheeks apart, followed by the slick length of his cock sliding through your covered folds.
He grunts directly into your ear as the sheer mass of his body conceals you like a cloak. Heâs so fucking big. It's suffocating, almost. Being enveloped by a man such as him. Your thighs rubbed together to relieve the ache between them.
Can he just get on with it already?
âNow, Angel. Iâm gonna fuck this pretty little cunt of yours till your legs shake. Till that stupid FEDRA officers come doesnât even fuckinâ exist anymore. Youâre gonna scream my name, and youâre gonna let every single one of my goddamn neighbors in this shit hole apartment know jusâ whoâs fuckinâ you so well. Hell, maybe even that FEDRA fuck will be able to hear you from outside. Youâre gonna scream and cum, like the dirty, obedient, little cockslut that you are.â He growled before bringing his palm down against your ass with a harsh, stinging slap that sent your back arching.
âAnd maybe, if you do as your told, and you milk my cock fuckinâ dry, Iâll treat you like a princess. Food. Shelter. A cock to keep you warm at night? Soft touches. Kisses. The comfort that I know you so desperately fuckinâ seek. All of that, and more can be yours, Angel. You jusâ have to be good and do as your told.â His teeth scraped the outer shell of your ear before he bit down on the thin skin harshly between his teeth. His thumbs looped between the waistband of your panties before he yanked them down to your ankles swiftly.
âJoel, thatâs not whatââ you tried to speak and get a few words in. But this was his show, not yours.
âThatâs not what, Angel? Thatâs not what you want? Oh, please. Letâs not start this off by lyinâ to me. You showed up here tonight because you were seekinâ somethinâ I offered. I know how that brain of yours works, little girl. Yâsure can run that mouth of yours, but you and I both know that youâre fuckinâ helpless. Those men in the alley would have killed you if it werenât for me. They would have torn you to shreds had I not stepped in. Say it, Angel. Say that I saved you.â He snarled unkindly as his freehand slipped around to your mouth. He pressed a kiss to your throat, right where he could feel your pulse quicken. âSpit.â He commanded you.
You shamelessly spit of glob of saliva right into the palm of his hand just like you were told.
His annoyance was prevalent when you didn't bother to answer his demand for you to admit that he saved you. Your blood was pumping in your veins and your heart was beating because of him.
You felt an unpleasant chill roll down every vertebrae in your spine when he didnât praise you for spitting into his hand like a good girl. You tried to turn your head to the side to see what exactly it was that he was doing, but he didnât give you that satisfaction. Oh, no. He wasnât going to give that to you.
You went to open your mouth, to tell him just what he wanted to hear, but your words were muffled as he shoved your face right into the couch cushion. His hand encaged your head while the other slipped back between your nearly connected bodies. He used your saliva as lubricant as he fisted the heavy weight of his cock a few times.
Your body lurched forward when you felt the head of his cock pressing into your glistening hole. He was barely notched inside your cunt, and you were already trying to crawl away. He was too much.
He tuts with a disappointed sigh, shaking his head tightly. âYâwanted this, remember?â He almost sounds pitiful. Almost. âCanât exactly fuck this tight little hole if you ainât holdinâ still, Angel.â
âJoelâitâs too. Fuck. Itâs too much.â You whine pathetically as your nails dig into the worn fabric on the couch cushions.
âToo much for a fuckinâ cockslut like you? Shut the fuck up and take it.â He hissed between his teeth. âJust fuckinâ relax and quit beinâ so stiff. Iâm tryinâ to make this an enjoyable experience for the both of us!â He snapped cruelly. He dropped his hand from around your head and opted to wrap his arm around your middle, yanking you back against his hips as he sank further into your heat.
âActinâ like your pussy doesnât want this, baby? Sheâs hugginâ me so fuckinâ tight already. Sheâs pullinâ me right on in. Sâlike sheâs takinâ my cock fuckinâ home.â He groaned deeply as he bottomed out. Filling you to the fucking brim. His cock felt like it was splitting you in two, right down the middle. His chest was firmly pressed down against your back as he rolled his hips forward.
A strangled moan crawled up your throat as you found yourself fucking yourself around his cock. Showing him that you could in fact play the role. Be the actress. Milk him dry just as he requested.
âJoeeel.â You moaned wantonly with your cheek pressed firmly against the scratchy fabric of the cushions. Your tears had long since dried in a salty cavern along your cheekbones.
âThatâs it, Angel. Thatâs a good fuckinâ girl. See, I told you I can fuckinâ treat you well.â He grunted praisingly as his lips found their way to your neck once more. He sucked, licked, kissed on your sweat-slicked skin as he pulled his hips back before jutting them forward once more. He set a deliciously deep and urgent pace as he fucked into you. âDonât think for a second that Iâmâ-fuckinâ lettinâ you off the hook so easily, Angel. Yâstill gotta tell me who saved you. Who saved your fuckinâ life!â His teeth grazed the thin, breakable skin along the column of your throat. He bit down harshly, drawing blood to the surface as he sucked on the entry wound that he created. A marking of dominance. Possession. The carnal need to own you.
The coil in your stomach tightened and pulled as your orgasm quickly approached. You liked it. You liked being fucked like the cockslut that you truly were. With each harsh thrust of his hips, the weight of his balls slapping against your skin, you cried out his name in a cock-drunk stupor.
Joel. Joel. Joel.
âNot the FEDRA officer fuck, right? Did he fuckinâ save your skin?! Huh?! No, Angel. He didnât. Bet he woulda taken the opportunity to kill you, Angel. I bet they all fuckinâ would! Every last goddamn rotten, son-of-a-bitch sick fuck left in this shithole would jump at the opportunity to spill your blood on the streets below, Angel. Not me! Not Joel. Why do you think that, Angel? Why do you think Iâd never let anyone hurt you?â
Your pussy clenched down around his cock as your strangled cries fell freely through your parted lips. Your back arched to meet his relentless thrusts.
âBecauseâbecause you own me, Joel!â
Maybe it was the endorphins coursing through your veins. Maybe it was the way Joel Millerâs cock continued to hit the spongy spot inside of you with every heavy thrust of his hips. Maybe it was the way he spoke to you. Or the way his body shielded yours with sheer strength. Maybe it was everything combined. In your cockdrunk haze, you wanted to be owned by this man.
âYes, Angel. Thatâs right. I do fuckinâ own you. I own your body. This pussy. That smart mouth of yours. I own the come that drips between your thighs. I own your screams. I own your thoughts. Your feelings. Your likes and dislikes. I own every fuckinâ part of your being.â He growled possessively as his thighs and yours began to quiver. As his cock began to twitch, and your tight cunt began to pulse like a heartbeat.
âYou own me, and I own you.â
He didnât disagree. He didnât argue as the cries of his name falling from your tongue mixed with his own heavy grunts.
Angel. Angel. Angel.
As he shot hot ropes of his seed into your fucked out hole, you milked him of every last drop, and as he slipped out, you could feel a mixture of his and your come dripping down between your thighs.
You could feel his heartbeat against your back as his breaths came out as hot puffs across your clammy skin. His cock softened against his thigh. Glistening in yours and his come. Your eyes fluttered shut as the post orgasm haze swept over you.
You felt two strong arms gently pulling you up as your head fell back against his strong shoulder. He held you securely against him. All you could hear was his heart beat and your intermingle breaths.
âDid you really go and fuck that FEDRA officer before you showed up here, Angel?â He asked softly while the pads of his thumbs rubbed soothing circles against your hips.
âNo.â You admitted. âI didnât.â
