It's the thinnest possible veneer of progressive language wrapped around TERF and reactionary rhetoric so that they can feel righteous for forming an angry mob against vulnerable targets. If you're gullible enough to fall for the newest wave of bigotry within the queer community, and turn on your allies because they're "confusing" or "invading your spaces," the SAME way they turned on bi/pan labels, trans people, xenogenders, neopronouns, and aroace people before this, then get lost.

I’ll never forget when I was arguing with a person in favor of total prison abolition and I asked them “what about violent offenders?” And they said “Well, in a world where prisons have been abolished, we’ll have leveled the playing field and everyone will have their basic needs met, and crime won’t be as much of an issue.” And then I was like “okay. But…no. Because rich people also rape and murder, so it isn’t just a poor person thing. So what will we do about that?” And I don’t think they answered me after that. I’m ashamed to say I continued to think that the problem was that I simply didn’t understand prison abolitionists enough and that their point was right in front of me, and it would click once I finally let myself understand it. It took me a long time to realize that if something is going to make sense, it needs to make sense. If you want to turn theory into Praxis (I’m using that word right don’t correct me I’ll vomit) everyone needs to be on board, which mean it all needs to click and it needs to click fast and fucking clear. You need to turn a complex idea into something both digestible and flexible enough to be expanded upon. Every time I ask a prison abolitionist what they actually intend to do about violent crime, I get directed to a summer reading list and a BreadTuber. It’s like a sleight-of-hand trick. Where’s the answer to my question. There it is. No wait, there it is. It’s under this cup. No it isn’t. “There’s theory that can explain this better than I can.” As if most theory isn’t just a collection of essays meant to be absorbed and discussed by academics, not the average skeptic. “Read this book.” And the book won’t even answer the question. The book tells you to go ask someone else. “Oh, watch this so-and-so, she totally explains it better than me.” Why can’t you explain it at all? Why did you even bring it up if you were going to point me to someone else to give me the basics that you should probably already know? Maybe I’m just one of those crazy people who thinks that some people need to be kept away from the public for everyone’s good. Maybe that just makes me insane. Maybe not believing that pervasive systemic misogyny could be solved with a UBI and a prayer circle makes me a bad guy. But it’s not like women’s safety is a priority anyway. It’s not like there is an objective claim to be made that re-releasing violent offenders or simply not locking them up is deadly.

It's rude to use people's content like that when they don't know, and it's not a 'what they dont know won't hurt them' either.

Ignoring the obvious topic of theft, or the discomfort of how their media is being used, the uptick of people hurting/neglecting themselves/others because of these bots has risen recently a lot. And you don't know if this may get the artist in trouble when they didn't even know the AI was made.

I've seen too many fic writers & artists quit recently/go entirely private because their stuff has started to be stolen for training the bots, because people are being pressured by fan-demand deadlines, or other rude comments & actions. Without these fan creators there will be no joy to be had whatsoever involving interacting with media you like.

Please respect your artists, your writers, & your creators while you still have them.

Man, it's cool and all if you see a metaphor for marginalisation in the monstrous, and if you want the power fantasy of 'what if you could just eat anybody who threatened you/pissed you off'. Me too.

However, as soon as you start saying 'no, these monsters are a 1:1 on Specific Marginalised Group, and you have to treat them in the fiction like they are directly representative of real human members of the marginalised group', BUT you also, in the fiction, make them hurt/kill/eat humans? And then try to shame me, your audience, for noticing or engaging with the bit where they kill people, because you made them directly representative of a real-world marginalised group? You have lost me, and also, I think, the plot.

Add to his businessman persona

Give a place for that wifi symbol to go that isn't awkward

Be a good opposing design to Alastor's bowtie

Potentially give the idea he's moved away (or attempting to) from Alastor. Especially if they had it that Vox USED to wear a bowtie.

Also, we joke about it but seriously, why does everyone have a bowtie when it doesn't make sense for some characters like Husk--

I'm thinking abt that pretty fall leaves embroidery pattern post and about how like... it is categorically a repost, it's a reupload. right? a thing that is generally disliked. but because it's credited, it's genuinely boosting the artist in question. and it could ALWAYS be like this. reposting content could ALWAYS be a symbiotic relationship, but because sourcing back to the original creator of something is so uncommon, it's just easier to ask people not to repost it at all. and people still don't understand the difference. or they'll go to the effort of cropping out usernames/signatures to repost something, which is More Effort than literally crediting the creator of something you liked enough to want to repost. Like. I literally don't actually care if my own shit gets reposted, you have to understand. I just don't want it STOLEN. But "do not repost" is easier to write on my art than "you can repost this, but don't alter the image/remove my signature, don't you dare write 'credit goes to the artist' because that is not credit, please link back to my original post or someplace that you can actually find me. please use an actual link/url instead of writing a non-clickable link of my username, because making it text instead of a clickable link cuts the number of people who will go to the effort of visiting my own page in Half." All those aggregate themed accounts, those fuckin annoying as hell instagrams and facebook groups that are like "body positive art we love wamen 💕 hashtag feminism" and then MASS-STEAL plus sized art created by women, if pages like these that always go and steal my older self-portraits and other works... Friendly reminder to double-check if fanart has been reposted without credit/permission before reblogging it.

I know we all reblog stolen art without realising it from time to time. It's a mistake we can all make, and I'm positive I've made it before. We can't always be paying close attention to everything we reblog. But, if you can, please just... be careful.

My heart just broke a little because tumblr just recommended me a blog with a bio that essentially says "yes, I repost art, if you're not okay with that just block me and don't bother me with your stupidity". And to see that some of the stolen Stolitz fanarts, reposted on that blog without the original artists' knowledge or consent, have ~2k notes, is just... Oof.

That's love that the original artist isn't getting. The reposter, who put exactly 0 effort or love or ambition into that piece of art, is the one being rewarded with all the praise and love and attention instead.

I just. I don't like engaging in fandom drama, and actively try to avoid it. This post is definitely not intended as a callout, and I don't intend to point fingers or "cancel" anyone (I'm saying this because I know how the Internet can be sometimes 😓). This is just me saying, hey, be careful, and treat others how you'd like to be treated. And just... don't reward this kind of behaviour. Please. If you've ever had this happen to you, you know how heart-breaking it is, and if you haven't, I hope you can empathise anyway. When you put so much love and effort into something, it means so much see and know that other people like it and appreciate it. And finding out that your creation is getting all that love away from your sight, and someone else is receiving all of that love instead of you, is genuinely really fucking upsetting and demoralising.
